au/divergence idea: the kiss isn’t how buck figures it out (someone please write this for me)

instead of talking to maddie about the basketball situation, buck’s at the station and talking to hen, and hen just clocks his ass.

much like maddie, she compares the situation to something similar she did in the past - a new girl became friends with her bestie at the time and she got really jealous and acted weird - and mentions that in the end, she realised that she was crushing on one of the girls and was jealous bc she thought that girl liked the other one more than her. buck pulls the whole “but i’m not ‘crushing’ on eddie”, and hen just gives him a look and says “no buck, you’re not crushing on eddie”. he looks at her confused before he finally realises what she’s getting at and goes “oh shit, i like tommy”

he speeds through his sexuality crisis like normal before he starts stressing about what he’s supposed to do now and hen says “just talk to him. trust me”, smirks, and starts walking away. buck is like “wait hen what do you know?” but she just ignores him and keeps walking. he’s left standing there having no idea wtf just happened.

then he talks to tommy, they kiss, and live happily ever after.

I know that everyone likes Buddie and whatnot, but the idea of Buck and Eddie being disaster bi and disaster Gay best friends together is so funny to me. Eddie and Buck are obviously gonna be in each others lives no matter what, they are too important to each other not to be but imagine all the funny scenarios of Buck using his handful of months of being out as experience to help Eddie with his gay experiences and being really bad at it.

Buck trying to wingman a guy for Eddie at a gay bar and making the guy think Eddie and Buck are a couple who wants a three way

Buck accidentally taking Eddie to a kink bar and being very confused when it’s not like a regular bar

Buck and Eddie going to their first pride parade together and falling off the float they are on or something and the rest of the 118 getting the call and having to come and rescue them

Eventually Tommy hears about these misadventures and forces Buck to let him tag along so he can keep them both out of trouble (possibly including a double date of bar guy from the earlier prompt and BuckTommy)

Point is if you want me to post these prompts as fic drabbles leave a like and let me know

(Also the idea of Eddie finding a nice guy who is also a single dad feels like a beautiful story that I kinda wanna write)

See, the thing is: Buck is a comfort character cuz he’s been a mess, he makes mistakes, I am convinced he’s my twin in ADHD, he kissed a dude and smiled and his whole heart is in his eyes.

I love him because the way he’s developed as a character and the way Oliver shows Buck to us just makes this 34 year old bi ADHD mess feel AT HOME.

I love my sweet Eddie BUT my angel Evan gets to have ALL the kisses as far as I’m concerned. Let’s see this journey! I was scared of a perfunctory Buddie plot line - a side note to the show yknow? But THIS. This has so much potential.

Buck gets to develop and grow and when Buddie happens, he’ll be a stronger and more confident Evan - for Eddie and MOST IMPORTANTLY, for himself.
