when we come back from hiatus there better be a scene where someone randomly stops the 118 in the middle of a call and points to chimney like “omg weren’t you that sexy doctor in that one scene from hotshots???” and chimney’s having the time of his life, he’s offering to take a selfie, autograph their stuff, etc. meanwhile buck and eddie are like “we were the nurses 😄” and the person is just like “…right 🤨” and goes straight back to chim.

Also I want to talk about how antithetical episode 8 was, in a good way! Like character subversion.

Avery, who this whole time has been very “strong independent woman I don’t need a man I’m gonna be a doctor” is now pregnant and considering keeping the baby and settling down.

Max, Mr. “One-Woman Man” who wants kids and a marriage immediately panics when faced with the possibility of kid (not a bad reaction, just again, subverting the character).

And then Frat Boy Tristan showing that he’s actually been through this *twice* before, and showing immense maturity with talking about it being Avery’s decision and that he’s there for whatever she needs him for.

I just think it’s so interesting that they decided to have this episode have all the characters kind of living in opposite land.

i think it would be cute to see madney host thanksgiving and invite tommy as well and chimney's just oh didn't we tell you he was coming, buck? no? hm oops must've slipped my mind and the whole time buck is being a little petty and tommy is trying his best to make the situation not awkward like the pumpkin pie is delicious and buck goes are you sure? would you say it's your favorite? maybe you should try all the desserts just in case. I would like to see that.

There’s such a good story in the break up like Buck went all in and Tommy clearly got thrown off. He said “we can get married” and that probably touched a nerve because the last time he was engaged he broke a good woman’s heart. Tommy is completely justified in being scared off by the intensity and in wondering if Buck is just doing this because he’s so excited about his newfound sexuality. But the answer isn’t for them to never see each other again. It’s for them to talk and agree to slow things down. That’s why a 8x10 or later reunion would actually work, it’s the proper progression of Buck taking time to really think if it’s Tommy or just the excitement of his first boyfriend. It has all the foundations of a good breakup and makeup story and the potential to deepen Tommy’s character in the process. So why aren’t we doing that?

I gotta say with everything happening in America right now I love how an American network television show on ABC which is a huge influential network openly discussing abortion as a valid option that is entirely up to the person who’s body the fetus is in is really awesome.
