Not All Men...

“Not all men,” the say with an indignant huff.

“Not all men are like that.”

“Not all men are abusive.”

“Not all men harass women.”

“Not all men abuse their power.”

“Not all men interfere with matters that aren’t theirs.”

Perhaps, I say with a heavy heart. Perhaps it is not all men, but still just enough men who destroy more worlds than we can handle.

Not all men perhaps, but there are more than enough men who are monsters to create a child’s worst nightmare in their own home.

Not all men, but just enough to create a culture where women shy away from attention because catcalls are a death sentence.

Not all men, but just enough to destroy a country’s very foundations.

Not all men, but enough to protest against basic rights for other humans.

Not all men, but enough to break the world.

Not all men, but enough.

It’s time to stop living in a world where it is seen as ok to abuse power and manipulate others.

It’s time to wake up from whatever fantasy you’ve been living in and see the world that has been created from the hands of our fathers.

It’s ok to not be ok, but it’s not ok to let it be. Be the change you want to see and put an end to the culture we have created for ourselves.
