Beyoncé was the one from Destiny’s Child with the big thighs, and was just considered the sexy one and also she was marketed that way because her dad was the manager of the group so it always went that way what’s going on though? They all together that was a thing, but now Beyoncé is doing no interviews anymore , and Jay-Z are the big power couple and always have been since about 2009 they became really they started in 2002 , they loved this couple together , but now it’s becoming a bit of a joke like wise Beyoncé got a BBL she doesn’t even need one of her just become a joke , but now she’s selling arena stadiums , and always will probably but I just find this new Beyoncé who is doing covers of Dolly Parton and other country stars bit of a joke. She was so much more than that she could sing amazing vocals in Destiny’s Child and they would all do the harmonies with her , I just don’t get this thing. I was listening to this podcast and they were saying about how they even put filters over people in the 90s that they didn’t need to. They were beautiful anyway but beauty is enhanced enhanced enhanced ,,,,, Very sad …… very beautiful not this natural look like I pointed out on my place yesterday on the Spice Girls and they all look so different and that was a great thing about them . I’m not for this side, the top ones yes the bottom ones ,not so much

On June 30, 2017, the greatest rapper alive released his thirteenth studio album. I am not seeking dialogue (shout out to my favorite podcaster for this phrase) on whether Jay-Z is the greatest. Keep it to yourself. I do want to briefly discuss his new album, 4:44, and how dope it is.

Music is a hard thing to discuss, in my opinion. In a world where we consume so much content, no one really listens to full albums anymore. My age group seems to be the last set who will actually still purchase physical CD’s. I should also preface this by saying that I have been a fan of Jay since I was a kid. After listening to the album for almost two weeks, I have to say that it is superb. I know people keep calling it a response to Beyonce’s Lemonade but I disagree. I think people who enjoy mess just want it to be a response. Jay-Z literally responds to Lemonade via the title track (and a bonus track if you have the physical CD) and a few lines here and there. Personally, I believe the track that should be discussed the most is, “Smile” which features Jay-Z’s mother. Whether you were one of the people who knew Ms. Gloria Carter is gay, is not the point. Correct me if I’m wrong but, I don’t know a rapper who discusses same-sex relationships so vulnerably and eloquently. Hearing Jay-Z say, “I cried tears of joy when you fell in love, don’t matter to me if it’s a him or her,” made my heart burst. Hip-Hop has been wildly homophobic since its inception. Hearing him speak of how his mother had to hide who she was for so long in such a beautiful manner was touching. Jay-Z knows his influence and that makes this song so damn important.

My favorite track on the album, outside of “Smile” and the title track, is “Kill Jay-Z.” I knew when I heard that song that this album was going to be different. Jay-Z raps in the song:

“And you know better, nigga, I know you do

But you gotta do better, boy, you owe it to Blue

You had no father, you had the armor

But you got a daughter, you gotta get softer

Die Jay-Z, this ain’t back in the days

You don’t need an alibi, Jay Z

Cry Jay Z, we know the pain is real

But you can’t heal what you never reveal”

Jay-Z is literally telling himself and the rest of us, that he had to grow up. There is no reason to be who he once was. The world and his life are different from what he used to know. I think this resonated so much because men are not always required to do so. Now, before you all start typing fast, I’m clearly not talking about all men. However, society has made it so that girls and women have to mature earlier. What I mean is, girls have to be absolutely aware of our emotions, feelings, surroundings and so forth. Women have to be the nurturer and be soft while also being strong. Men, by society’s standards, have to be hard and emotionless. With all the progress the world has made, a man crying and spilling his emotions is still spurned. Jay-Z openly admitting in a song that he has to dead that is important. He knows his impact and that there are men his age and younger who will listen to him.

I know I have to at least mention my feelings in regards the title track, “4:44.” I know it has been a point of discussion since the album dropped. The song is heavy. I could feel my eyes welling up with tears while listening. There is a line in that song where he says, “I saw the innocence leave your eyes,” and at that point, I decided to turn it off. That song was a little too relevant to my current life and…good grief. What a thing to admit, you know? All in all, I thought the album was insanely mature and beautifully produced. Jay-Z is vulnerable and real. I would put this album up there with The Black Album, Reasonable Doubt and American Gangster, in my list of great Jay-Z albums.  This album is magnificent. Period.
