An AU in which Rose has been permanently altered by the energy of the Vortex. A spark of the energy The Bad Wolf used to pull herself through Time and Space, anchoring herself to The Doctor, fixed itself into Rose’s DNA. It started with the dreams – nighttime visions and waking daydreams of traveling to times and spaces she had never seen before, that left her exhausted and confused. It didn’t take long for Rose to realize she had actually been traveling, crossing through the Vortex to all those distant worlds. And she couldn’t help but to experiment… Time travel, beyond the TARDIS and The Doctor? It was just too tempting. Saving planets, helping people, making a name for herself straight across the universe: monsters beware, The Bad Wolf is near! But her control over the spark inside her is… tenuous. Her power is growing day by day, The Bad Wolf’s full beautiful and destructive capabilities raging within her, growing more and more desperate to be released. I've been meaning to do this for a bit! Since I've been in the Phandom for 10+ years I've picked up a lot of good fanfics over the years and I think it'd be great to share them again in case people have forgotten/haven't encountered them!

I mostly used Fanfiction.net in my older days so a lot of them will be linked there. I'm also pretty picky when it comes to fics being completed, so expect the ones listed to be bingeable with an ending! And finally, I'm not huge on romance/smut so most of them probably won't involve those genres, I'll point out ones that do. (These are in no particular order).

I posted about this one a few years ago and the author, @ladylynse , said it's also available on AO3. This is by far one of my f a v o r i t e fanfics that I read annually or so! If you're a sucker for American Dragon too, definitely check this one out <3 The characterization of both Jake and Danny, plus watching their friendship grow, always gets me in the feels.

It's been a while since I've read this one, but I remember it having a lovely characterization of Lancer plus his mentor relationship with Danny. (I loved this one a great amount back in the day that I, uh, made fanart and turned it in for a school assignment. Which is lost to the ages now 😅)

I don't quite remember this one but I DO remember Cordria had some absolute bangers. You'll probably see their name a few more times on this list.

"Sometimes, people hide who they truly are behind masks. This is a short story about the day that Lancer decides enough is enough when it comes to Daniel Fenton. Sequel is 'Plunge'"

When I said Cordria had bangers, THIS is one of them! Another fic that I read annually, this one involves Lancer getting closer and closer to Danny's secret while he's stuck in detention for the weekend. I love love LOVE the characterization of Danny and Lancer in this, another at the top of the favorite list!

👻 Plunge by Cordria (sequel to Masks ^)

"Sequel to 'Masks'. Now that Lancer has learned the truth and has let Danny out of his office, Danny needs to face the next hurdle: his parents."

For some reason, I always forgot to put this on my favorite list so I often missed out on reading it with my annual read of Masks. I remember it being a decent sequel where the Fentons pick up the pieces of Danny's reveal.

👻 Pits by Cordria

"Danny has been captured and thrown into the Pits by Walker to fight for his life. Listen in as he tells his dark, twisted tale of surviving despite the odds. Warning: dark and depressing. Sequel is 'Final Exam'."

Another one I don't fully remember, but it had to be a solid read since it's on my favorites haha! I have a vague sense that it was a little angst/gore-y(?) as the description warns, so just heads up!

👻 Lab Rat by AnneriaWings

"The look on my parents' faces – eager, curious, somewhat hateful – wasn't exactly hard to give away their intentions. I knew what they were going to do to me even before Mom snapped on a pair of rubbery, white latex gloves."

*** This one is definitely a vivisection fanfic with graphic descriptions, so beware that content. Again, haven't read it in a long time but it had satisfied my angst itch back in the day.

👻 Wondering by Phantomrose96

"A continuation to Cordria's starshot #69 "Wondering". Danny's been captured and tortured by his parents, but he refuses to say a word until his psychiatrist starts connecting the dots. Can he risk keeping it a secret any longer?"

*** Another angst, lab experiment-esque fic. There are definite graphic scenes (as warned in the first chapter). I do remember this fic being huge in the 2010s (definitely a staple of the Phandom). The relationships and Danny recovering from his torture were great highlights.

"Maddie knows that the Booo-merang has keyed into Danny, for whatever reason, so what's she to think when she sees it collide with Phantom?"

Don't quite remember this one, but Lynse is amazing at writing, so it's bound to be a good read.

👻 Confessions by Lynse (Sequel to Connections ^)

"Follows Connections. Danny's secret's not as safe as he thinks, what with Maddie unable to ignore her wild suspicions any longer and piecing things together and Jack asking questions all on his own."

Same as above!

💙👻 Earthquake by Turkeyhead987

"Danny leaves with his bathroom excuse and leaves Dash curious. He follows Danny and ends up the the gym room with him. While they're in there, an earthquake occurs and leaves them trapped inside. Will any secrets be revealed? No DashxDanny! They're just the main characters!"

This one is another one that I've read multiple times over the years! From what I remember, it was a fun read involving Dash and Danny being trapped in the gym after an earthquake, and explores how Danny handles his secret around Dash while they wait for rescue.

💙👻 A Jock and a Hard Place by AnneriaWings

"Danny and Dash were silent, trying to wrap their mind around that stupid, simple fact – the door was locked. They were trapped. In a janitor's closet. Together. (Collab with Haiju)"

No romance in this one! Another story where Danny and Dash get trapped together. I've read this one several times, and remember enjoying the tension of Danny's secret being revealed. I also think they explored Danny and Dash's relationship in a fun way!

👻 An Unlikely Alliance by Represent

"Maddie wants her family back. In an attempt to understand her Danny's change in behavior, she unwittingly enlists the GIW to exorcize Phantom from her son."

Gonna be real with ya'll, I don't remember this one at all. But uhhh I'm gonna throw it on here just because I can. :)

👻 Flip Turn by dreamsweetmydear

"Danny's life the last couple of years has been chaotic and pretty scary, to say the least. However, one detention with Mr. Lancer opens a window of opportunity that promises to turn his life around in more ways than one. Revelation fic. Post-"Kindred Spirits.""

Yet again, I don't remember this fic. Sorry! But it's under 8000 words, so it's a little bit of a shorter read than some of the ones on this list!

"First Danny Phantom fic! DXS, TXV, but not super-heavy. Lancer's class is on a trip to the Ghost Zone, courtesy of the Fentons! (Takes a couple chapters to gain momentum, and I promise it isn't your average 'field trip' fic!) T because I'm paranoid, but it could probably be K ."

Also not a fic I remember. It's got about 50,000 words so thought I'd throw it in for anyone that likes a longer fic!

Don't remember it, but HaiJu had/has some great fics! Seems to involve Danny and Maddie after skimming the first chapter.

"No one but Danny was suspicious when his English class was awarded an all-expenses paid cruise trip by an anonymous benefactor. Everyone but Danny thought it was bad luck when they became ship-wrecked on an island in the middle of nowhere. No one but Danny fully understood the dangers lurking in the trees. No one but Danny knew how much danger they were all in so far from home."

This one involves Danny and his class getting out of Amity Park, so it's a little more oc-filled and explores a nontraditional setting for the trio. There might be a little SamxDanny in this one if I remember correctly, but overall I do remember having fun reading through this!

🟢 Candlelight by HappyLeif

"Sam's only friend is the ever-loyal Tucker, ever since Danny began slowly distancing himself from them after some accident freshman year. She wanted a friend, but she never thought she'd find the one she was looking for in the highly debated ghostly hero of Amity Park.

AU = Danny alone during the portal accident. Looks like there's some SamxDanny in this one! Don't remember it but heck I might have to reread it since the synopsis has me interested.

THIS story is definitely a favorite and fun read! The ending battle chapters always gets me excited to reread! ***Danny does get straight up shot by Dash at the beginning so be warned for that content. But I remember a post going around a year or so ago where someone had drabbled about Danny getting up after being shot by Dash. This story explores that concept with a longer plot!

💙👻💙 Roughing It by HaiJu

"Lost deep in the woods with an undead pack on their heels, Maddie and Phantom find themselves entangled in an awkward alliance. Can they cooperate long enough to get out of this mess?"

Another favorite! This one explores Maddie and Danny's relationship, kind of similar to how the show did in the Maternal Instincts episode. I adore how HaiJu explores Maddie's thought-process with dealing with Phantom in a situation where she kind of needs him and he won't leave her alone. Great mother-son fic!

👻 Phantom of Truth by Haiju

"Locked away in a secret government lab with Phantom as her subject, nothing stands between Maddie and the truth... except, perhaps, herself."

Haven't read this one in a loooooong time, but I remember being around for HaiJu updating this fic, posting about it on Tumblr, and the Phandom being generally hyped for it. Another staple for the Phandom! It's another torture fic, so heads up regarding that content!

💙👻 Shadow of a Doubt by Haiju (Sequel to Phantom of Truth ^)

"The truth was supposed to save Danny. Fix things. The lab, the experiments, the lies, those were all in the past. Weren't they? Sequel to Phantom of Truth."

And then BAM on top of finishing Phantom of Truth, HaiJu hit us all with a completed sequel! I was super excited whenever this fic got updated, felt like I was waiting for a new episode to air on TV every time! There's some OCs in this since it explores Danny running away from Amity, but I remember genuinely loving the OCs and loved reading about Danny mentally recovering from being experiment on.

-A soothing hum echoes from seemingly afar, a song of no lyrics but playful and cheery tones. As a furry, clawed hand grasps the quill, the cryptid's lines sure and sharp motions, yet with a flair of elegant cursive looping. Weaving his own blessings into the tapestry-

Soaring through horizons and lands, a weathered hand claps it in firm hold, a steady sure gaze of neutrality gazing. Before swiping across the air in movements both languid, and sharp, precise-

So the lessons and tolls on your shoulders lessen in weight, pass smoother rather than thunders and tsunami tides. At last, the quill lands in the hands of one- A gleeful and mischievous spirit yet also person, like two twins in a house or gallery of mirrors. A light, knowing smile of warm quiet wisdom on her lips as she scrawls. The final few touches.

BIOGRAPHY

Ozan began as a warrior, in the infinite war that took place between clans of tigers and bears over the territories that today correspond to part of Turkey. After a defeat in battle, he was captured by the enemy side and taken to his city as a prisoner. In his prison he began to be used as a gladiator, fighting other tigers and bears for the entertainment of his tormentors, he hated this life and dreamed of one day regaining his freedom.

However, in the midst of this ordeal he found a light, Burcu, a young and beautiful werebear omega who had been assigned to take care of the prisoners, and in addition was a kind of comcubine of the leader of the clan that kept the tiger in captivity. Ozan and Burcu loved each other many times, and from this secret union three cubs were created, the first two presented themselves as bears and were initiated into military training from an early age, but unfortunately they did not survive. The third child introduced himself as a tiger and fearing what the clan leader could do to them, Burcu told Ozan the truth, that he was the sire of the three children.

Burcu had become pregnant again and so he, his already born child and Ozan fled as far away as possible, until they reached Willowshire and built their life together as a happy family for a few years. unfortunately came the catastrophe that sucked many people from willowshire into the temporal vortex, suddenly Ozan found himself alone and desperate to see his loved ones, despite the difficulties he keeps alive the hopes of seeing them again.

Lord-Commander Vushant collapsed to one knee, as embers licked at his body! "Argh…! So… much… power!"

"Commander!" Cried out Ishami the Moon Maiden, rushing over to his side! "Stellar winds of hope, wash over thee!" Her magick leapt from her staff and surrounded the paladin, allowing him to slowly rise back to his feet; despite closing his wounds he was still out of breath and could barely focus!

"Hahahahaha!!!" The portal yawned wide and out stepped the Demon King himself! Wreathed in flames he threw his head back and laughed, reveling in his victory! "The air here… it is sweet! Fresh! The perfect place for my hellish minions to dominate and destroy! After I defeat you two FOOLS there will be nobody left that can stop me from burning Eorzea to ASH! BWAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!"

"You'll never win! I can repel your armies with my majestic moon magick!" Ishami waved her staff in the air before slamming it down into the ground between her feet! "There! Now you can no longer summon your minions!"

The Demon King sneered while he stepped forward. "Bah! Your pathetic spells are no match for my evil!"

"Yes they are!"

"NO they are NOT!"

"Yeah-huh!"

"NUH-UH!"

Vushant placed a hand on her shoulder and quickly decided to play the mediator. "Okay how about this… your magick can stop Samson from summoning his army but barely, so we have to defeat him super quickly!" Both Ishami and Samson rubbed at their chins in quiet contemplation, before eventually nodding in agreement. 

"Bah!" The Demon King barked, starting over. "Your precious moon can only hold back my power for so long! You two cannot hope to defeat me by yourselves! Hahahaaa!"

Lord-Commander Vushant raised his shield and puffed out his chest. "If we can just buy a little more time…"

"FRET NOT, FELLOW HEROES!" All three looked to the north and saw a silhouette in the glaring sunlight! "For I have come to answer your call! Let us seal this wicked devil in the accursed pit he crawled out from!" He bent at the knees until he was squatting, before launching himself with his Miqo'te strength, doing a front flip before landing beside Vushant and Ishami!

"Cool…!" All three of them cooed, gazing in awe of his blazing crimson outfit! 

"My name is Berserker Wolf Nolas! Guardian of the Radiant Dawn and Warrior of Light!" He raised his fist into the air before pounding it against his chest! "All evildoers beware! The Wolf has your scent! AWOOOOOOOO!!!"

Demon King Samson pointed his sword at Nolas and channeled his aether into the blade! "So you like fire, do you?! Well feel my wrath! Hellmaw Inferno Blaaaast!" Vushant had just enough time to raise his shield and create a barrier of light to protect himself and the Moon Maiden! As the searing flames of the hells subsided, they peeked out from behind the blackened shield to see Nolas unharmed! "Hey! That's not fair! I got you!" Cried out Samson in protest! "My flames devour all!"

"My Ferocious Deity cloak protects me from all fire attacks, holy, hellish, or otherwise!" He proclaimed, dusting some ash off his shoulder! "You will have to take me down with steel! Now it's our turn! Ultra Mega Vortex Punch!!!" Nolas took a step forward before vanishing into thin air, reappearing right in front of the Demon King in a blink of an eye!

"He's fast-!" 

The Demon King lowered his claymore to block, cushioning a deadly blow that sent a gust of wind so strong that it stripped the bark off the trees behind him! "Raging Wolf Kick!" The Berserker flipped upside down for a handstand and spun his feet around to slam into the Demon King's impenetrable armor! Before he had a chance to attack a third time, Nolas’ ankle was grabbed and he was yanked off the ground, only to be whipped back down to smash his head hard against the dirt! “GRAVEROBBER GUILLOTINE!” All Nolas could do was cover his face and brace himself for that giant flaming claymore to come crashing down upon him!

“Sentinel Shield!” Out from his left came Vushant, shoulder-checking the Demon King before he could finish off his new friend! He reached down and hoisted the Berserker Wolf to his feet! “Shake it off! We stand and fight as ONE!”

“Come on!” Taunted the Demon King! “Leap feet first into your deaths!”

Vushant didn’t need to be told twice. He raised his shield and lead the charge, keeping his shortsword safely behind him while he did his best to keep the villainous fiend’s attention! Nolas dashed fast and low– sprinting on all fours off to the side in order to search for his opening! Ishami, however, remained stationary, clasping her hands together and beginning her muttering chant to empower her spell; the Demon King was too strong to destroy, of that she was certain– but perhaps the day was not lost just yet!

“Ward of Winter!”

“Worldcleaver!”

“Feral Fang Fist!”

“Hammer of Justice!” 

“Tornado Toss!”

“Belching Hellfire Barrage!”

“Howling Blizzard Slash!”

“Ribsunder Punch!”

“SOUL RENDER!”

“SHIELD OF LIGHT!”

“SEISMIC SLAPDOWN!”

Blow for blow, strike for strike, no matter how crazy the names for their attacks became, they could only break even against the crushing might of the Demon King! The land was cleaved in twain and drenched with hellfire, the sky turned black from his swelling evil power! Both Vushant and Nolas were hanging on by a thread, pushing beyond mortal limits just to keep this fiendish foe busy! “WILL OF THE DAMNED!!!” The Demon King drove his sword into the scorched earth and sent forth a blistering wave of sweltering heat, knocking both his opponents flying back! “A-HA! I TOLD YOU MY POWER WAS UNMATCHED! NOW PREPARE TO DIIIIEEE!”

“NOW OR NEVER MOON MAIDEN!” Vushant shouted, using the last of his strength to grab hold of Nolas to pin him down!

“SUPER LUNAR ECLIPTIC COLLAAAAAPSE!” She shot her hands up into the sky, ripping a hole into their dimension in the shape of a half moon! As the crescent sucked up air and rocks alike, the Demon King clung to his claymore still stuck in the ground and held on for dear life– but white runes started to crawl across his face and arms!

“WHAT?! NOOOO!!!!” He bellowed, feeling his feet rising up from underneath him. “CURSE YOU, MOON MAIDEN! DEFEATED BY MERE MORTALS?! THIS IS NOT OVER…! I SHALL HAVE…! MY…! REVEEEEENGE!” The burning claymore broke free of the earth and the Demon King was hurled into the portal, spinning and screaming with rage and hatred for all mortals! “I’LL BE BAAAACK!”

“Nolas!” Called out a familiar voice, snapping the children out of their vivid imaginations. “It’s sundown, so you know what that means! Avanta and Mom are getting up, so come inside and wash up for dinner!”

 “Yes Dad!” Nolas’ heart was still pounding from play, his tail wiggling wildly as he looked to his friends. “Okay… I have to go eat…”

“Awww…” Samson kicked at the grass, still clinging to his ‘claymore’ which was little more than a big stick he found on his way here. “It’s sundown already?! I’ll never make it home in time before my parents start looking for me… oh man… I’m so dead!”

“Cool moves, Nolas.” Vushant kept his hand on the wooden sword his father made him a few days ago, but his other hand reached out to place on the young Miqo’te’s shoulder. “Everyone had really good names! I need to work on mine tonight…”

Ishami came trotting up to Nolas as he turned to leave. “Wait! Where did you get that cool outfit?! I really like the flames!”

“O-oh… my father made it for me. He’s a Weaver– and a really good one.”

Her eyes lit up with excitement. “D-do you think he could make me something too?! I need better robes…!”

“Me too!” Cried out Samson, still not hurrying home. “My Demon King outfit needs more pizazz! More oomph, you know?!”

“I could use a real cape…” Mused Vushant, rubbing at his chin thoughtfully.

Nervously Nolas rubbed at the back of his head, not entirely sure his dad even had the time to make so many outfits, especially for free. Unwilling to neither squash their hopes nor lie to them, he scrambled to reach a middle ground by saying, “I uhh… I’ll ask him and see if he can! But he’s really busy so…”

“Nolas?!” His father called again, slightly more impatient. “Hurry up!”

“C-coming!” And with that he turned around and scurried down the road back to his house, only sparing Ishami an infatuated second glance to see her smiling and waving at him while he ran.

Inspector: Yes indeed, started way back when I was just traveling through a Portal that opened up of no where so I went through it and entered a medieval world but right infront of me was this huge mountain with a Castle Fortress on top of it there was this sign that read "The Forbidden Mountain Fortress: turn back while you still can beware of The Mistress of All Evil" so what did I do I went up the stone path leading up to the The Forbidden Mountain Fortress I wanted to know who lives up there that's when i saw a goblin guard walking around the bridge like he was looking around to spot for any trespassers he was short look like a fat pig and he was wearing armor and held a long battle-axe he saw me and held his weapon very close to my face asking who am I and why was I trespassing at The Forbidden Mountain Fortress so I tell him that I didn't know who was living up there so I asked him if he knows he tells me that his Mistress Maleficent lives here and he tells me to follow him and as we both crossed the bridge more goblin guards show up weapons ready they all snarled and growled at me they got very close with very Sharp weapons swords, axes, bows and crossbows it was like I was in bigger trouble this was when they all felt the gust of wind blew at me and they're all's direction it was like the guard must of left me behind and told her that she had a guest the sky got dark thunder boom lightning flash striking the ground right infront of me and the guards back away as she appeared right before me green flames rised up from the ground and a dark figure came through it she was tall wearing Black and purple robes her skin was green and on top of her hair was a pair of horns she had a scepture in her left hand which ment she was very powerful and it was like she was surprised to see me but to Maleficent's eyes she could tell I wasn't around in her part of her world so she wanted to get to know me but also test myself of her service let's just say she asked me where did I come from and how did I get here so I tell her that some Portal vortex opens up to my house and I just go right into it and entered her realm which she tells me that she rules this very place and her guards serve her this got me thinking about her scepture staff now she knowest I was looking at it like I wanted to be just like her with my own staff she showed me everything what it means to be a powerful sorceress like herself she even made me this staff

-he snapped his fingers and his staff appeared with a blue Crystal and the staff handle was made by spruce wood-

Inspector: and she was so happy to show me everything all about herself and this is where she showed me her transformation into a Dragon and to me shock she was way bigger than my size and she wanted me to face her other self and if I defeat her we both would make a great deal of helping each other out and so we fought each other I got to give her credit she was very fast and quick with her sharp teeth but her fire breath it sounded like thunder booming so loud that it almost knock me over I ran away from her Flame's from getting burnt alive so I climbed up on one of her towers she snapped her jaws up at my direction it was like she wanted to get me I swing my staff and magic at her but she just got closer and closer till I got way to close by the edge it was like she had me cornered until my staff transform into a crystalist sword like it was showing me her weak spot on her chest where the heart was at as she was about to pounce on me I threw it at her direction striking her upper chest she let out the biggest scream I ever heard this still got her to come after me but I jumped out of her way as she tumbles down from her own Fortress and fell to her defeat I went down there to check if she was alright I saw the sword out of her chest I healed her wounded heart it was like she accepted my triumph victory and she helped me open a Portal back to my world but she told me to come back and visit her sometime soon and I kept my promise to go back anytime I wanted so I hid my staff from others who or what I was before I met Yang

German language in Frieren, Pt. 3

Part 1, Part 2

This will be the last list of these, at least until either the second season comes out or I read the manga, so let's go. This will cover the rest of the season, episodes 18-28, so beware of spoilers.

Episode 18 starts when they arrive in the Kühl region, which means cool (as in the temperature).

Next up are a lot of character names, which is a motif that will stay for the next few episodes. The first one is Übel, the... special mage. Her name is a really fun one, since it translates to either sick/nauseous or to bad/nasty. Potentially, they could have meant Über which would mean above, but I think the first one is more likely.

Genau is the proctor for the first test of the upcoming mage exam, his name means accurately or exactly.

Then we have Wirbel, the ostensibly prickly military dude. His name means vortex (or vertebra but I think they meant the first one). You could translate it to fuss as well, but that's probably even less likely.

Denken the old imperial mage is next, and his name means to think. Back to using verbs for names I see, but it kind of fits since he is described as crafty and more of a strategist.

The first exam is held at a lake in Grobe basin, which means rough.

There they have to capture the supersonic Stille birds, which ironically translates to silence or quiet.

The first of the two kids Frieren gets paired up with is Lawine, which means avalanche. Kind of a badass name for an ice mage.

The second one is Kanne, which is a word for pitcher or pot. Like the ones you can carry water in, do you get it? Because she's a water mage? Kind of on the nose these last few names.

In episode 19, it's more names because we get to know the other teams. First up is Land, Übel and Ferns party member. His name means either country or, well, land. Not really sure where the connection is but whatever.

Next we have Wirbels first party member, Scharf. His name means sharp (or spicy, but given his metal flower blade magic thing I think the first one is more likely).

The other floaty one is called Ehre, which translates to honor. At first I thought that doesn't fit quite right but I guess it does overall.

After that we finally have Denkens party members, the first being the earthbender Richter. This translates to judge, which I guess is also true for the Castlevania character. Not sure why they would put this as the name though, it's not an actual name in german.

Last but not least we got the speedy Laufen, which, quite fittingly, means to run, since that is what she does.

Additionally, we got the name for the creepy bird-like monsters, Denken calls them Geisel, which is weird since that means hostage. Maybe they meant Geißel (the same but with a sharper s sound) instead which translates to scourge, or maybe Denken referred to the spell they put on the corpses to hunt? Not really sure about that one.

As a quick note before we go on to episode 20: Most of the words in this and the following episodes are spell names that are not actually german words. Most of them look like they would be, but they are just gibberish. For some of them it seems like they took actual words and replaced random letters, for example Waldgose (Denkens tornado spell) looks like it could have been Windhose, the word for tornado, with some of the letters swapped. Or Bargland, Richters earthmoving spell, which is very close to Bergland which would mean mountainous area, but overall I don't know and will not mention them.

Other than that, episode 20 give us two more names: First is Sense, the proctor for the second test. Her name translates to scythe, which makes her somehow significantly more theatening. It has nothing to do with the english word sense, though.

Then we have Serie, the ancient elf and great mage with the confusing world view; she has another weird name. It means simply series, almost the same word in both languages.

Episode 21 has only spells, but in episode 22 we have -you guessed it- more names. The first is Ton, member of the first party and the guy who later goes alone into the dungeon. His name means sound/tone or maybe clay. Since we don't know what magic he uses, both seem possible.

Next is Methode, which means method; again almost the same word. It's a shame Sein isn't in the party anymore, he would have loved meeting her.

The last member of the first party is the tiny girl Länge, an ironic name since it means length. Although heigth would have fit better, but you would use Größe for that (refer to part 2 of this guide to learn what that means).

Finally, we have the members of the 17th party, starting with Blei, the bald guy. His name means lead, as in the chemical element. If it was Brei instead, it would mean mush or pulp. Not sure what they were going for here.

The slightly haughty girl Edel is next, and her name fittingly translates to noble or precious, if something is of good quality.

The last named mage in the exam is Dünste, the dude with the impressive moustache. His name means fumes (plural). Really strange name if you ask me.

The chef we meet in one of Frierens flashbacks is called Lecker, which is the word for tasty, or maybe yummy; it's a bit of a less sophisticated word.

Lastly, Wirbel mentions a monster called Fresser that ruins the crops. Its name means something like devourer, like in something that eats a lot. It utilizes one of the words for eat, but the one that you wouldn't use for people but usually for animals exclusively, unless you want to insult somone.

In episode 23 the first class mage Lernen is mentioned, the old dude that we get to meet later. His name means to learn which fits for one of Series apprentices.

Episode 24 gives us the name of the monster in the core of the dungeon that creates all the copies. Its very dramatic name is "Spiegel, the water-mirror fiend". Spiegel literally translates to mirror, so there are no surprises here.

Only spells are mentioned in the next episode, so we skip to episode 26, which shows us the cocky first class mage Burg, the former second test proctor that Übel more or less accidentally killed. His name translates to castle, which kinda fits since he thought he was impervious to attacks.

In episode 27 Serie calls one of the other first class mages Falsch, which means wrong or fake. Maybe foreshadowing? Who knows.

And finally, episode 28 drops one more word: Böse the Immortal, one of the powerful demons Himmel defeated. Their name translates simply to evil, very straightforward.

And that was it, all the german words I could find during my watch of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. Maybe I will continue doing this once season 2 comes out, we'll see.
