Scallops and mushrooms with angel hair pasta in a white wine lemon cream sauce. (I didn't use a recipe for this since I already knew how to make it, but they're eeeverywhere on Google.) Honestly, I'm surprised I even made this today. All I've wanted my whole life was to have our kitchen to myself without anyone hovering around (which is why so many of my past meals happened in the middle of the night when everyone was in bed 😂). But now that my grandparents are gone, and in particular Grammy since our kitchen was her sovereign domain, I haven't felt like cooking or even being in the kitchen for weeks. Or months. It feels too weird and far too quiet. That, and we've had friends and family bringing over SO. MUCH. FOOD. that we haven't had a genuine home-cooked meal in so long I can't even remember when the last time was. But since my wallet was screaming every time I ordered out (I'm pretty sure my last 20 transactions are all @UberEats 🙈) I decided today to actually exercise some self-control and make my own meal. I know, I know, that's some revolutionary thinking right there! but I've just not felt like myself in so long since they've been gone. I've been existing instead of living. Which sounds so dramatic it's stupid, but it's also true. I'm gonna try really, really hard from now on to get back to myself - and get back in the kitchen and my little makeshift photography studio that's been gathering dust. Deep breaths. I tried a new recipe tonight 🤤. Chef Gordon Ramsey's Pan Seared Halibut. I made it with roasted asparagus and medley potatoes. Topped with fresh lemon, herbs, and a beurre blanc sauce. Ummmmm, I think I'm the next #masterchef 🙌🏼 I have NEVER eaten a piece of fish and actually enjoyed it, until tonight! I attempted one of Chef Ramsey's recipes from Hell's Kitchen....
