I Have Something Completely Unhinged To Say
And that's your only warning!
I was thinking about it the other day and in regards to Bergdorf and her SL crew, do they not remind you of a pimp and their hoes?
Madam Bergdorf and her Harem of SL creators 😂
By the look of it, it's like Bergdorf is pimping these SL creators to the sims community though the means of Patreon 😂😂 And truth be told, you know one of the parties involved is getting paid one way or another. There's no way all these SL creators are linking up with Bergdorf for free. Nah. Not in this economy!
I guess the 2024 equivalent is E-Pimp. You know, the guy who gets girls to sign up for OF accounts, and then they "manage" them.
Here's a scenario I could see happening: An SLC going into Bergdorf's DMs asking to get in on that Patreon money. Bergdorf says sure and lists out the rules, what's needed, compensation, etc. And then Bergdorf sets them up with a Patreon account. Probably gives them a template to fill out on their posts(because they all look the same🙄). And then next thing you know "XYZ is Coming to Sims 4!"
Lather, rinse, repeat!
Also, some of the clothes these SLC's create don't help my "pimps and hoes" take😂😂. They definitely love that "streetwalker" look. And I do mean "streetwalker". Not stripper, not 18+ worker, A streetwalker. People who are for the streets!
A lot of those outfits are, in my opinion, tacky. I love some nsfw clothes, but they do have to be tasteful. These converted SL clothes are giving "try hard". Some of the pieces just look uncomfortable! I get it, it's not not real people, but still tho.....it's tacky!
Ngl, I typically download CC clothes that I myself would wear. I'm not wearing anything with one tit out! 😂😂 Wear that irl and you're gonna get so much attention that you did not ask for!
Y'all got bottoms that don't even cover the whole kittykat 🙈
The thing is that these are clothing pieces are listed under "everyday wear"😂. Only people who live for the streets are wearing things like that unironically outside.
If you want tasteful nsfw clothes, I recommend going to
Beto
Blue craving
Lynxsimz
SMsims
Kleos sims
Also, idk if y'all know this or not, but there's creators on LoversLab too! And they have a good amount of nsfw items there for you to download!

File Under: Iconic Establishments
THE BERGDORF GOODMAN EDIT:
C.O.G.A Style Notes: It's not about what you do, but how you do it, and when it comes to first rate American Department stores still capable of producing a fashionable shopping experience drenched in magic, there's Bergdorf Goodman! As Our Lady of Great Costuming Pat Field Stated:
"Bergdorf still hold's that sense of tradition & doesn't stomp all over it with some kind of square foot or dollar entity."
Tumblr media
C.O.G.A Lifestyle Guide -
If one doesn't find themselves in a position to drop in, as there's only one location, bring Bergdorf into your home with the following acts of engagement: 1. Snapping up the 'Scatter My Ashes At Bergdorf Goodman' book and immersing oneself in it's pages before giving it proper placement on your coffee table!
Tumblr media
2. Follow that up with a purchasing x screening of the 'Scatter My Ashes' docu, where you sip bubbly from Miranda Kerr Champagne flutes, serve delectable spreads that will allow for crumbs to be dabbed away from YSL Rouge Painted Lips with Baccarat x Kim Seybert cocktail napkins, Close the evening with Bialetti x Dolce Moka made coffee x Homemade Borgo De' Medici Tiramisu and conversations regarding Betty Halbreich & the role that Bergdorf played in the scenes x success of the Sex & The City + it's wardrobe dept!
Tumblr media
3. & should one find themselves feeling truly Bergdorf splurgy & inspired, then I'd advise indulging in the Darling Bonnie designed 'Entirely TOO expensive Curated List For The Bergdorf Gals ((& Those Who'd Like To Be))' chock full of Bergdorf Goodman merchandising. Do all of this whilst donning an ensemble of which even Linda Fargo would approve.
Chic Only, Glamour Always!

TRIVIA
Tumblr media
Lucille Ball, who appears uncredited in this film as a fashion model, would later buy RKO, the studio that made this film. At the height of their success during “I Love Lucy”, she and Desi Arnaz purchased it and renamed it Desilu Studios.
Tumblr media
Lucille Ball decided to try out for this film when she heard RKO was looking for girls who had worked as models at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City. She had not actually been employed by Bergdorf, but had participated in a fashion show a promoter had put on there, so she applied and got the job.
Tumblr media
The original 1933 Broadway production of Roberta featured Bob Hope and Fred MacMurray, both of whom played themselves on Lucille Ball sitcoms. Chorus member Leon Alton was a background artist on many episodes of “The Lucy Show” and “Here’s Lucy.”
Tumblr media
A 24 year-old Lucille Ball, decked out in white-blonde hair, white furs and wearing a white gown, appears at 1:37:30 in the fashion show sequence. Lucille Ball originally had dialogue that was later deleted.
Tumblr media
In the 1971 “Here's Lucy” episode “Ginger Rogers Comes to Tea” (HL S4;E11) Lucy adds a sugar cube to Ginger's tea for the title of each of her favorite films.   When Lucy realizes she’s put six lumps of sugar in Ginger’s tea, Rogers says she only wanted Top Hat and Roberta (two lumps).
Tumblr media
Clips of the film were included in “Hollywood the Golden Years: The RKO Story: A Woman's Lot” (July 17, 1987). Lucille Ball is also interviewed in the episode.
Tumblr media
Fashion Shows were the subject of several Lucille Ball sitcoms: Lucy Ricardo models a Don Loper original; Lucy Carmichael did an impromptu fashion show in a restaurant to get close to Danny Kaye; Lucy Carter did the same thing to help out her daughter Kim, who got her first job at a fashion boutique.
Tumblr media
Roberta earned Lucille Ball a promotion at RKO: from clothes horse to actress!  Little did Maxine Jennings (red head) know Lucille Ball would eventually steel her thunder as a carrot top!

Some theatre managers took the bold step of offering patrons a money-back guarantee!

Sweetvee christmas headcanons: christmas shopping together
I’ve decided to use this prompt for Day Two of the Riverdale Reindeer Games event, the theme of which is Dancer: shopping, cards, gift exchange. I hope you enjoy these headcanons! Thank you for sending in this holiday request!
Tumblr media
Sweet Pea groaned audibly when Veronica first suggested he accompany her to the city for some holiday shopping.
Sweet Pea is not a fan of shopping at all.
His idea of gift giving means finding a gift on the fly and wrapping it up, indelicately, in a jumbled mass of gift wrapping. If he’s feeling up to it, he might embellish it with a bow or two.
Veronica promised him an expensive steak dinner in exchange for his company. He reluctantly agreed, encouraged by the thought of a delicious steak and the look in Veronica’s eyes as she listed off shops like Barney’s to Bergdorf’s, Sak’s to Sephora.
They shopped for hours, the fervor she exhibited the driving force behind him trying not to moan and groan the entire time.
When they passed by a Tiffany’s, Veronica’s face melted at the sight of the various diamond rings.
Sweet Pea enjoyed seeing the look on her face, but felt a pang of guilt that he couldn’t afford anything like that for her for Christmas.
He was grateful for the detour as they stopped at their hotel room to drop off their shopping bags. He tried to distract her with sex, but she was too focused on seeking out the best gift for Betty and her father to be persuaded.
They resumed their shopping for another two hours, hitting up Armani and Bendel’s as Veronica looked high and low for the perfect scarf for Hiram.
As they strolled through the busy city streets, Veronica squealed as they passed Rockefeller Center, going on and on about ice skating as a child with her parents.
Sweet Pea didn’t want to admit that he didn’t know how to skate, hoping to keep that nostalgic spark ignited in her as she talked about the last happy Christmas the Lodges shared before her father went to prison.
Veronica could tell he was inexperienced, trying hard not to laugh when he fell on his butt.
She insisted that they hold hands for the rest of their time on the rink.
Sweet Pea scowled to himself as he watched a handful of kids glide effortlessly around them.
When they were done, Veronica suggested an early dessert with frozen hot chocolates at Serendipity.
As they stepped out of the restaurant, the snow started falling again, tiny flakes of white peppering her dark black hair.
Sweet Pea couldn’t help but lean down to kiss her, the cool drops of snow stuck on their lips sizzling with the heat of their embrace.
When they arrived at dinner, Veronica could tell Sweet Pea felt a bit out of place amongst the high flutant crowd, even though he was doing his best to look comfortable in a pair of black slacks and a nice blazer.
When he went to the restroom, she asked the waiter to bag up their order. They took it to go to their hotel room, where they dined comfortably under the warm fluffy duvet of their hotel bed.
They ended the night making love overzealously, the energy from the shopping and the busy city life pouring out of Veronica in very appreciative ways.
When she fell asleep, exhausted from the day of hunting for the best gifts for her loved ones, Sweet Pea snuck out.
He perused the shop fronts, the Christmas lights that lined the streets glistening around him, as he sought to find the perfect gift for his perfect girlfriend.

Step by step instructions to really get it done: Obviously, you need to flaunt what you're pleased with conditioned arms or a thin midsection. It's the making light of less adored parts that is precarious. One strategy? Add inverse volume, such as wearing wide-leg pants to balance a heavier upper a large portion of that is wearing something fitted. "The item is to even yourself out," makes sense of originator Nicole Miller. "So stay away from anything excessively larger than usual or you'll look wedding party planning  greater." Another thought: Distraction. In the event that you're pear molded, wear forgettable dark jeans, carry the concentrate up with an intense scarf, says Louise Roe, the writer of the style-exhortation book Front Roe.2
Tumblr media
Wear patterns during a time suitable way.
Instructions to really get it done: Odds are, there's an adult rendition of the style of the day. Take crop tops: To try not to uncover skin, match a shirt that hits at the navel with a high-waisted skirt-or a more extended top with a tank top over it. "It gives you a comparable look," guarantees architect Rebecca Minkoff. Main concern: "You never need to appear as though you're awkward with your age and attempting to look more youthful," says Lilliana Vazquez, a style master and the proofreader of TheLVGuide.com.3
The right bra makes you look slimmer.
Step by step instructions to really make it happen: "Where your bosoms sit on your chest has a major effect in how garments fit," says Vazquez. All in all, assuming you're wearing a bra that fits appropriately, there will be no drooping or swelling and that implies your outline will look trimmer from each point. The objective is halfway between your elbows and shoulders. You've scored a match when "the front place board of the bra lays level, there's no wrinkling or gapping in the cups, and the bra isn't climbing up or making swells," says Kristen Supulski, the overseer of promoting for Vanity Fair Brands unmentionables. "In the event that you can crush only two fingers under the band it actually feels cozy, that is the ideal fit."4
Try not to be too matchy.
The most effective method to really make it happen: Strive to wear colors that upgrade each other as opposed to "match" in the customary sense. For a simple hack, says Minkoff, "take a gander at a straightforward shading wheel. The tones that are inverse each other on the wheel complete one another." (Think non-clear yet bringing combos, similar to orange and naval force or purple and saffron.) Diversifying your adornments, in both shading and surface, is another do. (An adored threesome from the vault of Betty Halbreich, an individual customer at New York City's Bergdorf Goodman and the creator of the style diary I'll Drink to That: "A dark dress, naval force shoes, and a burgundy tote.") And by no means would it be advisable for you at any point rock a set-up of gems. Says Vazquez, " Anything that was sold all together looks truly dated."5
Show skin specifically.
Instructions to really get it done: "Don't give individuals an excessive number of things to take a gander at the same time," says Halbreich. "Assuming you're wearing a low profile dress, center around the cleavage-you don't likewise require uncovered arms and legs." The idea applies to fit too: A body-embracing dress is better with a more reasonable neck area and trim, while a skirt that hits a couple crawls over the knee won't cause a commotion in the event that it's erupted instead of tight.6

All the Best Memorial Day Sales, According to Your Personal Shopper
Have you signed up for MR Thoughtline yet? It’s Man Repeller’s new text-based service that lights up phone screens with good bits from around the internet, opportunities to chat with cool people, and digital recesses to help your mind take a break from the news in favor of a recipe, physical activity or, trust us, very useful WFH outfit ideas. Subscribe here.
Last week, the inevitable happened: Elizabeth Tamkin became the next gen answer to Bergdorf Goodman’s legendary personal shopper, Betty Halbreich, when she offered to give custom shopping advice to anyone who asked in our comments section. Today, she reprises her role, sharing her top picks for the categories that came up most frequently last week. Even better: It’s all on sale.
Memorial Day sales come with even more consumerist baggage than usual, in this financially tumultuous time when some of us are shopping and others are abstaining. Elizabeth sought to shop smarter, not harder: In addition to her top picks, she’s also included a list of all of the long weekend sales on her radar, including lots of small brands worth supporting.
I would keep writing this introduction but I’m already chomping at the bit, ogling those cherry red, tie-dye Opening Ceremony board shorts Eliz found, so I’ll let her take it from here.
1. Summer Dresses, Comin’ Right Up
Alyssa’s request for a summery graduation dress was a joy for me to answer. I looked for dresses that, while appropriate for graduation, would also be easy to repurpose for future events. Cue the florals! The frills! The airy whites! The nautical stripes!
!function(d,s,id){ var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? 'http' : 'https'; if(!d.getElementById(id)) { e = d.createElement(s); e.id = id; e.src = p + '://widgets.rewardstyle.com/js/shopthepost.js'; d.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.__stp === 'object') if(d.readyState === 'complete') { window.__stp.init(); } }(document, 'script', 'shopthepost-script');
Turn on your JavaScript to view content
2. *The* Perfect Shorts for Literally Anything
(Ed. note: I extended the below selection beyond black and kept near but not to exact budget for a wider assortment!)
Jess wants everyday shorts in two categories: a couple pairs of athletic shorts (which Team MR knows a thing or two about), and a second pair that are a bit more sophisticated. 3. The Perfect Button-Down Shirt Does Exist
This is a staple I truly believe we all must have. Button-down shirts are timeless, season-less and so very versatile. Wear them buttoned to the collar, wear them buttoned on the top and left open on the bottom, leave it completely open (over a swimsuit perhaps!?), or tie it in a knot around your waist. I found classic white shirts with a perfect length for leaving untucked or tucked, shirts with flare like this one with corset ties (oOoOoh!), ones with pattern like this red or blue striped one from Solid & Striped (I have it in another color and the material is lovely), or a denim one which, in my opinion, is a closet must.
!function(d,s,id){ var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? 'http' : 'https'; if(!d.getElementById(id)) { e = d.createElement(s); e.id = id; e.src = p + '://widgets.rewardstyle.com/js/shopthepost.js'; d.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.__stp === 'object') if(d.readyState === 'complete') { window.__stp.init(); } }(document, 'script', 'shopthepost-script');

4. For a Future Casual Day at L’Office
We aren’t quite there yet, Allison. But when the time comes, I agree, a workwear capsule wardrobe is a very, very helpful thing to have. And even more helpful? Items you can wear from work-to-date like this painfully adorable red scallop collared cardigan or this sheer blouse you can dress up with silk trousers or dress down with jeans. I leaned into comfortable but sophisticated pants with a pair of belted khakis by one of my favorite brands—Officine Générale—at 40% off, a great pair of dark jeans with a finished hem, some checked trousers, these perfect black everyday pants and a pair of quite excellent wide-leg white pants to kick off MDW!
Some tops!
!function(d,s,id){ var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? 'http' : 'https'; if(!d.getElementById(id)) { e = d.createElement(s); e.id = id; e.src = p + '://widgets.rewardstyle.com/js/shopthepost.js'; d.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.__stp === 'object') if(d.readyState === 'complete') { window.__stp.init(); } }(document, 'script', 'shopthepost-script');

5. Wear-All-Day Summer Jackets
I’ve collected many a jacket in my days of living in the city. A jacket can instantly dress up something as simple as a pair of running shorts or leggings. It can sophisticate a work lewk or simply shield you from that sneaky evening breeze. I recommend going linen, cotton, or lightweight tweed to keep it airy, and a fun cut—like this one with the cinched waist—is always a welcome bonus.
!function(d,s,id){ var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? 'http' : 'https'; if(!d.getElementById(id)) { e = d.createElement(s); e.id = id; e.src = p + '://widgets.rewardstyle.com/js/shopthepost.js'; d.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.__stp === 'object') if(d.readyState === 'complete') { window.__stp.init(); } }(document, 'script', 'shopthepost-script');

6. Not-Another-Old-Tee Pajamas
Pajamas have been the unsung hero of my quarantine. I find myself still wearing them hours after waking up, barely leaving time to change before the day’s first video call. I’ll always appreciate a good cotton set. Or! Perhaps a lightweight, pretty tank that could double as a blouse (no need to change for that video call!). This statement set will let me feel cute even with the covers up to my chin, or what about this tie-dye top and these shorts that you could actually wear out and about? Love a multipurpose pajama.
!function(d,s,id){ var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? 'http' : 'https'; if(!d.getElementById(id)) { e = d.createElement(s); e.id = id; e.src = p + '://widgets.rewardstyle.com/js/shopthepost.js'; d.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.__stp === 'object') if(d.readyState === 'complete') { window.__stp.init(); } }(document, 'script', 'shopthepost-script');

!function(d,s,id){ var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? 'http' : 'https'; if(!d.getElementById(id)) { e = d.createElement(s); e.id = id; e.src = p + '://widgets.rewardstyle.com/js/shopthepost.js'; d.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.__stp === 'object') if(d.readyState === 'complete') { window.__stp.init(); } }(document, 'script', 'shopthepost-script');

For the athletic category, I looked for shorts I know are good (like these Nike ones) and ones that had good shape and cut (nothing worse than a see-through or flimsy pair of shorts). For the “smarter” pair, I looked for versatility, length, and quality, ranging from a modest length denim pair, a satin bermuda and this exceptionally cool flap skort.
The “sporty” pair:
!function(d,s,id){ var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? 'http' : 'https'; if(!d.getElementById(id)) { e = d.createElement(s); e.id = id; e.src = p + '://widgets.rewardstyle.com/js/shopthepost.js'; d.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.__stp === 'object') if(d.readyState === 'complete') { window.__stp.init(); } }(document, 'script', 'shopthepost-script');
