I was thinking about it the other day and in regards to Bergdorf and her SL crew, do they not remind you of a pimp and their hoes?

Madam Bergdorf and her Harem of SL creators 😂

By the look of it, it's like Bergdorf is pimping these SL creators to the sims community though the means of Patreon 😂😂 And truth be told, you know one of the parties involved is getting paid one way or another. There's no way all these SL creators are linking up with Bergdorf for free. Nah. Not in this economy!

I guess the 2024 equivalent is E-Pimp. You know, the guy who gets girls to sign up for OF accounts, and then they "manage" them.

Here's a scenario I could see happening: An SLC going into Bergdorf's DMs asking to get in on that Patreon money. Bergdorf says sure and lists out the rules, what's needed, compensation, etc. And then Bergdorf sets them up with a Patreon account. Probably gives them a template to fill out on their posts(because they all look the same🙄). And then next thing you know "XYZ is Coming to Sims 4!"

Lather, rinse, repeat!

Also, some of the clothes these SLC's create don't help my "pimps and hoes" take😂😂. They definitely love that "streetwalker" look. And I do mean "streetwalker". Not stripper, not 18+ worker, A streetwalker. People who are for the streets!

A lot of those outfits are, in my opinion, tacky. I love some nsfw clothes, but they do have to be tasteful. These converted SL clothes are giving "try hard". Some of the pieces just look uncomfortable! I get it, it's not not real people, but still tho.....it's tacky!

Ngl, I typically download CC clothes that I myself would wear. I'm not wearing anything with one tit out! 😂😂 Wear that irl and you're gonna get so much attention that you did not ask for!

Y'all got bottoms that don't even cover the whole kittykat 🙈

The thing is that these are clothing pieces are listed under "everyday wear"😂. Only people who live for the streets are wearing things like that unironically outside.

And then the plot thickens....

the paré/bergdorf collab is one of the most disgusting displays of greed in the sims 4 community and a sign of the second life-fication of the sims 4. paré, for context, is a SL creator and bergdorf simply converts the already existing content for a cut of the check. I get SL content costs money and they're cool with that over there but we should not normalize it over here. not only do they expect people to pay $5 for only ONE MONTH OF CONTENT, but you would have to pay $25 to have access to everything and $10 to only get 3 months' worth. It's ludicrous. I wouldn't even spend $25 on a tshirt. At the very least people who actually play the game should be making this much cash off the community if at all.

That whole crew has been trying to bring that mentality over TS4 for awhile now. The thing is historically The Sims has never been like this although it’s slowly started to morph into that over the years. Some communities will tolerate it, others won’t. Bethesda’s is openly hostile to pay per mod for example. SL exclusively operates that way. BIt’s about not trying to force your expectations on the norms of a community. The sims tried to have a middle ground. We were wrong to accept a lot of the patreon nonsense (timelines getting stretched out, tiers with little to no benefit that were overly expensive, retroactively locking content, PAYWALLS) as long as we did.

This is one that isn't that well labelled in game, I think it's from the set I linked, but if not, it's definitely from that creator. For this one I'm going to note creator is a loose term: all of their CC is bot-copied from Second Life. They're not doing anything except importing the mesh and textures into sims and this is why they upload direct to Patreon, and you have to request to follow and "see" the items on instagram. Personally, I wouldn't encourage subscribing financially to their patreon, all of it's been leaked anyway. People ripping off and claiming credit for SL meshes is the reason we've seen some of the bigger names like Dust Bunny and Dahlia partner up with Bergdorf to have their items converted with their consent (and compensation, obviously). As for perma-paywalling, that's a whole different topic, but just wanted to add that disclaimer because I do have a problem with people stealing meshes and textures, being dishonest about it, and then selling it.
