"She got away and she's safe. And I can take you there if you help me. But we got to go right now." "You're such a liar. You never told the truth, not once in your life."

That puppet show about life with the Tillmans was possibly the most disturbing thing I've seen on this show, and it was such a great way to depict the various levels of abuse Roy enacted on everyone without being exploitative.

Things the Fargo finale kind-of left me hanging on:
What prison sentence did Karen get? Accessory and attempted murder?
What happened to the twins? Foster system, I'm assuming.
Not that I give a crap about Odin, but his grave?
What about Linda's? I'm assuming they found her body.
What about Danish's? I think he deserves a proper burial.
Gator's prison sentence? What did he get charged with. Accessory? Sure he accidentally killed Irma but were there any witnesses to that? Maybe he confessed.
If Oola doesn't eat anything but sin, why did he want pancakes?
There's probably other things but those are the things bothering me for now.

What's different about Dot?
If Dot's puppet dream is 100% accurate, why is she the only one Roy is after right now?
Roy seems to be very much the misogynistic a-hole who needs control of the women in his life. His wives are his "property" and them running away is unacceptable. He wants Dot (Nadine) back because they were still married when she got away.
So, if Dot's story is true and Linda also just up and left in the middle of the night, why isn't Roy looking for her? I don't think that he would have allowed them to divorce beforehand. Is it because Linda is older? Why doesn't Roy have the same vendetta against Linda as he does against Dot? If Linda is still out there and hasn't changed her name, she should be "easier" to locate than Dot....yet Roy hasn't mentioned Linda at all. The only other times a first wife was referenced were in the photos and by the FBI at the courthouse.
So, what's going on here, and why only Dot?

If I had a nickel for every time Lester Nygaard was responsible for his wife’s death I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot of nickels, but it’s interesting it’s happened twice.
#fargo#fargo fx#lester nygaard#man really should have never gotten married#pearl made a little sense#not that it’s okay to kill your wife#but at least she was awful to him#made sense he’d bludgeon her with a hammer#but linda deserved better

Fargo: Camp Utopia
INDIRA: You're saying if a woman is abused and she manages to escape, she should move to the woods, live in a tree, free from the burdens of basic human contact?
In Dot's "fantastic journey," she visits Camp Utopia. Are they all the deceased victims of domestic abuse, including Linda Tillman? Their names include Belin, Kelin, Tonda, Landa, Lindo, and Lynda.
Is Linda the Good Witch of North Dakota?
Are they gathered for a Punch & Judy puppet show?
Are they Dryads?

So I’m a thinking about what exactly went down the night Linda died now that I found the Nadine/roy wedding pic he hands to Loraine. He looks very upset and Nadine is just vacant staring. The wedding pic on the wall of Roy’s house has them looking at each other smiling. Pretty sure the pic he gave Lorraine is a far more accurate portrayal of that day. I’m thinking Gator told Linda that Roy raped Nadine while she was away presumably trying to set up a way to leave with Gator and Nadine. Linda went crazy they had a big fight and he threw her down the stairs or smashed her into wall and she died. I don’t think it was premeditated and it genuinely really upset him. So he married Nadine right away to make killing his wife “worth it”. But clearly they were not suited at all and all they did was fight. Nadine felt very guilty about Linda and disassociated to the point she literally thought Linda survived the fight and ran away. Very clearly Nadine had a bad childhood and I think Linda was the first “real mother” she had. The whole thing is so sad.
Also from the way Roy was crying about his mother’s napkins I’m thinking she did not die she left and did not take him. Which made him feel like he needed to do everything in his power to ensure no one ever left him again. Which he did through physical and emotional abuse. Which as Nadine said is just pissing on a window to clean it. Because as he said to Nadine he would “let her go once she begged him to let her stay.” Also interestingly enough for a man we saw casually shoot two guys in the head over the course of the series he wouldn’t kill Nadine himself. Because I’m pretty sure killing Linda devastated him as he said to bowman “he never wanted to feel that way again.” The acting in season 5 really drove it home. Def up there with season 2s acting to flesh these characters out.
Additionally the not changing the bedroom was another tell as he insisted he was his happiest but it’s very clear the time with Nadine was the worst he ever felt too and he felt angry that she got a happily ever after and he did not.
I have so many more thoughts this is just Linda’s death thoughts. Stay tuned for separate gator and Nadine posts.
