Headcanons for my Kengan Ashura hotties 😍 - How they react when their S/O says they’re in labor and their reaction to seeing their baby for the first time 🍼👶

Raian Kure👹: he is quick to take his S/O to the hospital and grins as usual but deep down he’s panicking because he can see the pain all over his S/O’s face. After the baby is born, he can’t stop looking at their face and smiles happily, he’s tearing up but he’ll never admit.

Kanoh Agito😁: he’s calm and collected on the drive to the hospital but he’s breaking a sweat because he knows his S/O is in pain and their lives were about to change. When he sees his baby, he smiles happily and looks up at his S/O before telling them thank you.

Hero Vision Vol.14 (2004/Spring) ft. Kamen Rider Blade Cast Interviews Ryoji Moromoto x Makoto Ito (Suit Actor) Segment (translation below)

"When did you two first meet?"

Ito: When? (laughs)

Moromoto: When we first met? I'm pretty sure it was before filming started. My first impression of Ito-san was that he was, "A kind big bro."

Ito: He made me think, "This year's also going to turn out cool" (laughs).

Moromoto: We talked alot about Chalice back then. You said, "Chalice has existed for 10,000 years, so I want to show you 10,000 years worth of my career." What were some of the other things you said again?

Ito:……not much, I really don't remember (laughs).

Moromoto: Ahaha! One thing we have in common, is that we have similar bikes, don't we? We've talked about how we want to go (motorcycle) touring together after the show ends. I ride a Yamaha SR400 and, ah...I'm sorry……(Note: The bikes used in Kamen Rider are provided by Honda)

Ito:…Sorry, but I'm also a WR250F (Yamaha) rider~, but before that, it's always been a Honda! I'd love to see Moromoto-kun's rumored SR. I've heard that they're loud and rather slow……

Moromoto: That's right! I actually modified it too much, and now it can only go about 80kph (50mph) (laughs). Right now, I'm too busy to work on it. I feel like my love for it is fading~!

"What were your first impressions of Chalice?"

Moromoto: I received a call from my agency, saying I passed the audition with, "You're Heart." "Eh?! You mean Momorenger?!," I was so surprised and alittle bit intimidated (laughs), but when I saw the design in person, it was cool and I liked it alot because it was something I had never seen before.

Ito: When I was first told about it, I jokingly thought, "Heart……(sinking in)…ah, alright then, I'll just act like a gay guy……" But, after seeing the design, I was relieved and thought about what kind of pose would suit this Rider. My first thought when I read his setup, was that it would be nice to have something wild and different from the other Riders. Compared to G3-X in "Kamen Rider Agito" and Knight in "Kamen Rider Ryuki," this is the wildest work I've ever done. Even with Kaixa in "Kamen Rider 555," I tried to keep martial arts like movements in mind, and to avoid any unnecessary movements. But with Chalice, there's just so many unnecessary movements…(laughs).

Moromoto: That's why I also tried to make the movements bigger in that fight scene (episode 9).

"Morimoto-san, "Hajime Aikawa is not a normal human being," what do you pay attention to when playing such a role?"

Moromoto: When my heart is closer to the human side, it's not so different, but when it's closer to Chalice's side, I try not to blink as much as possible, and when I talk to people, I try to give subtle pauses in my responses. It's almost like a foreigner hearing Japanese and interpreting it in their head before replying. In general, when I'm on Chalice's side, I don't think with my mind, but instead, try to act with my feelings

"Do you have any techniques for the dubbing process?"

Moromoto: I have a high pitched voice, so it can be difficult for me to make Chalice sound intimidating or violent. That's why I'm trying to lower the tone of my voice. I also did research by studying "monsters" such as the Hulk, Akuma from "Street Fighter II" and King Piccolo from "Dragon Ball Z." One time I even played the videos, and would try to voice the characters myself with the sound off, but there was still something wrong. What could it be…I don't know what Chalice's true form is yet, so my image may not be perfect. (Note: The actors have not been told where the story is going at this time.)

Ito: When it's my turn to "Henshin!," I'm trying to decide if it's better to change or to fight and further develop myself. Essentially, Chalice is supposed to be used to fighting, so I want to keep my methods in check. I'm so focused that I feel like I can see my opponent's movements, even when they've stopped. However, the tension is still high.

Moromoto: The way I say "Transformation" is different depending on if I'm fighting to protect Amane-chan or with my natural emotions. For Amane-chan, it's, "Henshin!" but naturally it's, "…Henshin" (lower tone).

"Did you face any challenges during filming?"

Ito: I'm not good when it comes to cold weather, so I almost cried during the snowy mountain shoot.

Moromoto: It was -15C (5F)! And when the sun went down, they brought out one of those giant fans! It kept spraying us with cold water! Man, I remember my face being scrunched up with anger (laughs).

Ito: When I did a test shot without the mask on, my hair ended up freezing. It wouldn't even melt when I put my head over the space heater, so I just had to keep it as is.

Moromoto: There was also the scene where Amane-chan's father gives Hajime the photo, with it being so cold I thought, "This guy, is he really going to die?!"

Ito: I'm bad with Winter, but I'm also bad with Summer too. When I wear a suit, my body temperature rises and my face turns bright red. My heart starts to race too and I think, "Ah, my life is getting shorter…"

Moromoto: It's good for Chalice though, isn't it? Blood rushing, a fast pulse, it's like an unleashing of the instincts.

Ito: But, when I get like that, I become quiet. In the Summer, Chalice becomes more like a domesticated cat (laughs).

Moromoto: Please keep doing your best~, I'm also prepared to risk my life for this role!

Ito: I also want to play the role of a Rider who will continue to remain in everyone's heart. Personally, it's frustrating to often hear people say, "Chalice looks like Gills (Agito)" (laughs), regardless, please continue to watch us in the future. We're going to give it our all!

Thoughts on JJK chapter 233 (spoilers)

Gojo's CE output isn't as high anymore as before but the fight doesn't stop because Sukuna recovers unbelievably fast from the Black Flash attack. This time though he's actually utilizing the entirety of the 10 Shadows Technique including its shadow.

Toji is back again but he had already been present during this fight since the beginning in spirit: from Gojo's outfit to his first defeat that's been referenced here. (I also have the feeling that the way that Gege drew Toji here is inspired by the anime)

This is also the first time that Yorozu's quote is applied to Gojo (going by this translation) but unlike with Sukuna it actually has an end. For Gojo, Sukuna is the one who is standing by his side against the loneliness of strength. Will the same be true for Sukuna? And what about Gojo's students whom he originally taught to stand by him as well?

Needless to say, Gojo realized that he's just a few steps from losing and still he smiles because he's having a fulfilling time right now and however Sukuna's quote will end he too is all smiles.

Sukuna uses Piercing Water by applying Max Elephants technique on himself the same as Mahoraga's wheel. This actually might explain how the previous Zenin head fought successfully against the previous 6-Eyes. The attack connects with Gojo because in that moment he's touching Mahoraga which releases infinity.

(As far as I remember, the idea for Piercing Water didn't come from observing Choso but from observing Noritoshi (Megumi's memories))

Sukuna can't use two Innate Techniques at the same time and because he needs Mahoraga out he can't switch them up as well. The same goes for Kenjaku and however many CT he retained from his previous hosts.

Just as Gojo is weakened, Sukuna is weakened too which shows in his current battle tactic. Sukuna doesn't have the stamina and CE reserves anymore for a drawn out adaptation to Red, instead he goes all out while Gojo's defense can be circumvented.

He summons a new shikigami with Nue and from the looks of it he infuses the bird with the power of the dead snake shikigami he had killed himself. I'm not sure about the hand sign though.

This new shikigami is called Agito, a name I only know from a Final Fantasy game but let's see what it actually means or what other kinds of fused shikigami we'll get.

Also I can't wait for the fanart with this funny little family. The alien remark and the silhouette are a reference for a picture apparently where two men are holding an alien child(?)

Gojo still has an ace up his sleeve and next chapter is probably going to shift the battle dynamics of this fight but well, that already happened a thousand times.

What I want to talk about a little bit more though is Sukuna using Megumi's technique. It was expected that he was going to use it and that he was going to use it well but it still hurts to see it because with every new thing he does with the 10 Shadows he takes something away from Megumi.

This is by design of course, it's supposed to feel unfair and make Megumi less. Since his possession, Megumi has been pushed down, literally, metaphorically, emotionally and getting hit by his teacher's technique (Unlimited Void) and having Sukuna using his own CT better than himself are just the next kicks to keep him down.

But through all of this suffering he'll rise up again, stronger and more capable than before, the same way Gojo rose up after being sliced open by Toji. And even in all of this, the one thing that Sukuna can't take away from Megumi is his Domain and with his intelligence (which might be supplemented with Sukuna's memories that Megumi might've seen) I'm confident that Megumi will reach even greater heights with his technique than Sukuna later on.

A rather odd combination of companions were having tea with her following Orter’s stuffed schedule of 3 days. In his words: “Think of it as the cost of losing a week's worth of time,” as he began picking through the mountains of papers sent to his room. Including some of her own she’d later realise.

“Seems like a fine punishment,” petting Hippo-tan, as she briefly went over the situation. “Did you ask him where he went?” She shook her head in disagreement.

“What if he’s seeing someone behind—” interrupted by the sudden tight grip on her shoulder “—please stop it, Ryoh,” glaring at the most veteran Divine Visionary in the room. 

There was no need to bring up such a concern as infidelity if the response was only going to be: “I trust him. It’s not like I own him.”

Even more convincingly, the strongest magic user broke out in a giggling fit. “Oh to be called a ‘sunshine’ by him,” with a smirk. “You do take after me!” Like god-father, like god-daughter. As he cried into the bookworm’s shoulder.

“Rinka, can I ruin his hair for 30 minutes?”

“Isn’t that too short?”

“You’re right, Agito,” she whipped her head again towards the blonde. “Make it 60.” Causing his distress to increase with a paler complexion as he tried to get sympathy and pity out of the woman. ‘Please let this old man live, daughter of mine.’

“Let me get the timer,” she stood up.

“NOOOOOO!!!”

It would be wrong to not talk about how her heart leapt at his sudden gesture but they were supposed to be used to it. Even though it’s barely been 4 months since she suggested this or 7 months if they were faking the history. It’s technically not fake… but it’s not of genuine romantic origin either. She should ask for clarification later on before it falls apart. As Hippo-tan anchored Ryoh in place while she grabbed the hourglass. There’s still time to figure out these feelings.

Time passes with their duties occupying their time. In particular, there’s been some odd movements of certain magical creatures. So far, the most crucial and concerning were the dragons. “Some move north for hibernation and their eggs, and some move south like the birds.”

“But that’s the territory of the elves, is it not?” The blue-haired teen pointed at where the two groups intersected. 

“We’re on good terms with the elves, you think it’s possible to stop by to ask them about it?”

“I don’t think that’s necessary. Hippo-tan’s familiar with that area and knows his kind better,” much to the other two’s surprise. Who knew Agito Tyrone’s pet dragon had such vast knowledge? Watching at the shrunken creature, waddled on the map and yipped. Almost like a dog towards them. “Hippo-tan said that although it’s considered the elves’ territory, the forest here”--within the intersecting area--“is actually a common… stop for dragons when migrating. However, the timing is a month early. That means something or someone has interfered with the environment north and south.” The orange dragon huffed, smoke rose from their jaw before letting out a grunt.

“But there haven’t been any reports about environmental destruction,” Tsurara recounted still stumped by this case. “Then shouldn’t Agito try asking the other dragons at the intersection? It would save on time,” she suggested, holding onto a heat retaining object. Silence permeated through the room as the dragon turned towards her.

“The elves do not particularly… enjoy my presence,” attempting to hide the grin that suddenly widened at the thought. “After all…”

“Do you need us to follow as well?” The Blood Cane tried to alleviate his discomfort. He was crucial for the task at hand. Irreplaceable. “We can go as a group if needed, I can carry everyone as,” she stopped as Hippo-tan drooped on the table and with suppressed calmness, the Dragon Cane held her hands.

“Please use a translation or universal language spell, miss.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

“Do you need me to bring Renatus along?”

“It’s fine. Please use the translation spell you taught me.”

With a hint of dejectedness, her hand dropped back to her side with little control as he let go. She let out a sigh, “Alright.”

Their trip across the plains was peaceful with Tsurara’s arms wrapped around Rinka’s torso as they flew towards the location. “I’m sorry, R-rinka, I can’t fly as well as you,” she stammered. Out of all her classes, she suffered the most in regards to broom flying. Unable to focus on the surroundings without feeling like barfing. “It’s fine, an urgent matter is an urgent matter. Plus you have better range than me.”

“But… I haven’t done anything so far either…”

What has she ever done since she stepped foot into the Bureau? Through all the freezing outbursts, and slips in the halls, she was there to burn brightly. A guiding light in her isolated and perilous place.

To be able to learn and apply magic beyond her own is something she herself is envious of. She only had ice. Solid, sharp, slippery blocks, surfaces. She couldn’t manipulate it that well either. The sheer output destroyed that seaside town after all… and only one person was reported injured in their report, The Blood Cane. 

“You’ve done plenty already with the projects and I’m sure you helped out Ms. Ivona when she joined us. By the way, you’re not burning right?”

“No, you’re warm,” as she always was. “You’re like your own sun.” Even if something felt extremely wrong to her, she couldn’t tell what it was. Or rather found it hard to believe… how did Rinka begin the relationship if only she was around him at the time? Doesn’t Orter care about her as much as she did if not even more?

Even without looking back from the casket during the funeral service, he uttered with suppressed determined rage. “I will find the perpetrator.” He had left before the burial as well.

Don’t get her wrong. She appreciated her senior and junior as much as the next person in the Bureau. They’ve done a lot already than she could hope to imagine. It’s just… it wasn’t something she could alleviate from her heart which ached with mild disdain towards the two.

“Don’t be like that Tsura!” Holding onto her hands, she felt considerably heated and flushed in her light blue presence. The same fingers chipped away at her icy reaction. “It hasn’t been that long yet but he’ll get used to me and my presence.”

‘Did he though? Even after all this time?’

“What do you mean you haven’t heard from Rinka or Tsurara for the past two days?” Ryoh looked at the younger man sceptically who was fiddling with his thumbs. “Weren’t you three tasked with investigating the odd migration patterns?” He nodded. “Then?”

“They haven’t notified me since they left. I’m sorry,” but staying mad towards his junior wasn’t worth it. Not for their time when these were pressing matters. “I would recommend retracing their steps or asking the director for help if you want to be able to contact them easily.” He seemed shocked by this comment. 

“It’s… possible to ask the director?”

“Of course! Follow me!”

However, the two didn’t expect to hear the door slam shut followed by a muffled argument ensuing with little room to breathe. That is of course until they also entered. “They found an illegal lab in the north.”

“That’s exactly why you should send--” his eyes made contact with the Dragon holding Divine Visionary and tensed, “you. This is your domain. Why is a researcher and a rulemaker going in your stead?” He seethed.

“I didn’t want to inhibit the investigation… the Elves and I are on less than amicable terms, it would’ve resulted in a longer investigation.”

“No it wouldn’t! It resulted in the possible loss of 2 Divine Visionaries! We can’t afford that!”

“Now, Divine Visionaries, settle yourselves,” the director’s taps echoed throughout the room. “What brings you two here?” Gesturing towards those opposite the maddened Madl. They quickly explained their intentions. “It is about the same situation. In regards to the two, they told me in detail that they would prefer either Agito or Kaldo to take over. Mainly, in regards to investigating the southern region.”

“What about right now?” Ryoh wondered.

Appearing amidst green smoke were the two, hair frosted in the air and skin pale with markers of white still present. In ill-fitting clothes, she was carrying the younger on her shoulder like a sac of grains. “Director. The lab houses multiple citizens who have become lack-magics. Please transport the cargo from the coordinates to the Magical Cemetery,” before drawing out a shaky breath. “I’ll be at the infirmary.”

With that, the process of a mass burial of more than 200 lack-magics has resulted in the investigation to continue for the next month. The two divine visionaries were requested to make a speedy recovery and for the Blood Cane specifically, manage the younger teen’s state. “Don’t let anyone else tamper with her recovery,” were the director’s words. Fix her state.

Hiding the bitterness in her voice, she replied. “Yes, sir.”

Ngl, Gotchard so far just might potentially be the first Reiwa rider season to have it's potential secondary rider make it's first debut the latest, surpass Revice to a lesser extent. (Daiji became Live later than Evil but even then Evil debut earlier on) Considering in most recent times the secondary rider often makes his debut pretty early like the second episode or so.

The last time we have a secondary rider debut pretty late (as in like the mid-late teens or so) like the earlier Neo-Heisei seasons and some later early Heisei seasons was Kamen Rider Beast from Kamen Rider Wizard...approximately like 10-11 years ago!

Or maybe they're trying to break the status quo of the rider classifications? (like how they don't outright call Neon/Naago a tertiary rider) Hmm...then again, that's just speculation. But even if we pretend that speculation turns out to be true, (it probably won't because maybe marketing reasons and then again the show is still going and again, the secondary rider can still make their debut in the mid-late teens like we got a decade ago) I would sort of respect them for trying to make new changes for this new era of Kamen Rider... (whether it's for better or for worse is an entirely different matter) At the same time, I have to admit it won't exactly feel the same not exactly having an official secondary rider again as that's pretty much been a staple since Agito... (Then again, it's highly highly unlikely we get a show like Kuuga again where the main rider is the only rider in the show. It's theoretical possible and manageable, don't get me wrong but I can't deny it's still improbable by this point in this)

So yeah, my speculations for potential possibilities for why the secondary rider is making it's debut later than we expected...is either: - One, they try to replicate the secondary debut element that we have gotten back in later Phase 1 Heisei seasons to early Neo-Heisei seasons - Two, they're trying to, at least partially break the status quo of rider classifications and trying something new or replace with a new status quo of classifications Which one of the two is more likely than the other, who knows? But hey, maybe there's a third possibility/theory or more I might be missing... now let's hear your two cents in all this, Ms. Kari.

Daiji debuted as Live in ep 10, so yeah, Gotchard already holds the record for the latest debut of an official secondary Rider as far as Reiwa is concerned. Kagerou debuted in ep 5. Everyone else (Isamu, Rintaro and Keiwa) debuted in ep 2.

If I’d hazard a guess, the writers of Gotchard are taking a lot of cues from the W-OOO-Fourze era of Kamen Rider, with the (relatively) lighter tone, more episodic plots, etc. This may include scaling back on the number of Riders in the series and spacing out their debuts more. Honestly, I kinda prefer this setup more, because sometimes it does feel like half the cast is just there to be fodder in fights or something.

As far as Rider classifications go, I don’t think they’ll push so far as to be rid of the secondary rider altogether. I can see them discarding the other designations but the secondary rider has been around way too long and and is too important from a narrative perspective (e.g. a rival or foil for the main rider). I mean, some Showa Riders are technically secondaries despite being part of the “main rider” roster because they’re not even the title rider of their series (e.g. Nigou, Riderman).

Yeah, they’re not getting rid of the secondary I think.

What better opportunity to talk about movies whereupon I always got to show it to people who'd never even heard of 'em!

Ultraman: the Adventure Begins (1987): did you know there's a Hanna-Barbera animated adaptation of Ultraman? well now you do, and it's still cheesy, but now it's American cheese. to this day, I must say the name Susan in a sinister voice and point (also sinisterly).

Hanuman and 7 Ultramen (1974): did you know there was also a Thai production of Ultraman? no joke, this was where I'd first heard of Hanuman, but I didn't get all the hindu promo because I had the Japanese-dubbed cut on VHS as a child, which had a label in English but no subtitles that I can recall (I might not have even been old enough to read yet anyway) and I have no idea where my birthparents even found it. I don't remember there being any box art for it, in fact, idk if it even had a case. anyway, it's another a cheesy movie even more continuity errors, but as an adult it's another fun one to laugh at with friends.

Mermaid Forest (1991): okay, now let's switch gears from good old monster fun to some grimdark monster horror, because god. I developed a taste for blood at a very early age. it's based on the manga by Takahashi Rumiko (of Inu Yasha fame), with a soundtrack by Kawai Kenji, and it revolves around the tale of eating mermaids for immortality... but with a catch. the odds are against you, as most eaters either are poisoned by it or turned into unaging monsters. what can go wrong!

Mermaid's Scar (1993): another Rumik World OVA, look at that! but Scar a different adaptation of a different chapter. Mermaid Forest is still my favorite between these two, but I can't introduce one without mentioning the other, and they're both great for the Halloween or Obon seasons.

WXIII: Patlabor the Movie 3 (2002): okay, this one scratches an itch specific enough that if I had to pick one, it's possibly my favorite movie. yes, this is technically the third movie of an anime about utility mecha (called labors), but you don't need to have watched the series to watch this movie. I especially recommend going in blind the first time, no spoilers, ideally on a rainy day in the dark; but in every rewatch afterward you'll notice more and more hints and details. of course, if you do watch, content warning, WXIII (Wasted 13) is a crime drama, so prepare for a suicide near the end of this movie, too.

the Others (2001): is it time to dial it back a bit? well, how about a ghost story about a widow, her photosensitive children, their new housekeepers and the recent intruders. it's been a while, so idk if I still could, but I used to be able to recite this whole movie's script if I wanted to. another one for the spooky seasons, goes great with blackouts and thick fog.

Origin: Spirits of the Past, aka Giniro no Kami no Agito (2006): I'll finish with one more animated movie-- produced by the same studio as for Last Exile, if you like steampunk, but this one's more solarpunk. suspension of disbelief and all that, watching Origin is more about the vibes, okay? the opening is serenaded by Kokia while dragons made of trees hatch from the moon and enter Earth's atmosphere. and it's beautiful. peak grass-touching propaganda, no notes. don't ask about the volcano.

ooc. going back to that meta post about t/ype 0 and the cycles. emotions and certain images/ flashes of memories do tent to be carried on with people on every god damn cycle. these do over every time will leave a subtle change in one's personality and actions. this is probably not what arecia want because this means people might start to notice 'oh wow, i know something i shouldn't have known so how?' etc. aside from that, i believe class zero got that carry over bug especially we notice that a lot in cater. the other zeroes are probably inferred what they carry over or we can speculate. so i will speculate, basically what i think might be carried over. machina is an avid chocobo lover and this is for sure in every cycle. you wont see this changing at all. however, because of his continuous interaction with ace, and in the previous (LN+agito) cycles he had somewhat better relationship with izana, machina started to collect the feathers of the chocobo as fun at first then in the type 0 cycle he believed that it might bring him good luck. there was something about the feathers back in agito and it could be carried over into the 0 cycle thus why he would always gather a feather from any fallen chocobo if he can and store it in the box under his bed. if humans can have name tag, chocobos can have something, too, right? his only regret he didn't have any feather from chichiri, when he was told his brother passed away with his chocobo. yes, he does not recall he had named the yellow bird but he felt it in his heart that this loss is unlike any other loss.

eight, on the other hand, carried the 'respect flowers' over to his 0 cycle. in agito he accidently destroyed/stepped on deuce's flowers and he felt guilty about it. yes he helped her salvage and take care of the flowers but something deep inside touched him. he, who only fights when necessary and uses his own body as weapon to remain as pacifist as he can (as war can allow him) be, he crushed down helpless flowers as he trained. wouldn't be something akin to what their enemies are doing? they invade and destroy what comes in their way? it bothered him that in that moment, he did something that others might not think twice about it but for him it is not just 'oops i stepped on some flowers'. what got to him was deuce's reaction--her sadness. every action has a consequence, the aftermath. he does not want to be the action that leads to the suffering of others--he wants to be the force, the power to stop such aftermath. hence he would often seen in the garden training. he would enjoy watching the flowers that deuce and the other students planted around the garden (and on campus.) whenever they are on a mission, you better believe he thinks 3 steps ahead where he should land whenever he attacks his enemies because you wouldn't know where a poor flower could be there. listen, it is not like it hunts his mind, it actually keeps him 'sane' sort of during the battle. too much 'battle mode' would make him lose what makes him 'human'. eight might do and say what would make Arecia happy but he does not think they were turned into puppets or even weapons. he may call himself a weapon but that because he is really is--fighting with his fists and kicks. unlike the other zeroes, no matter how many times he tried using weapons in different cycle, the fact that it means he will inflict pain on others make him uncomfortable. if he has too, then he ought to remember it--with his fists.

As for King, he is probably the most fucked up mentally wise of the zeroes. He had always been on class 9--the class specialized in special OPs. Meaning, all the dirty work that needed to be done is done directly by class 9. We don't know a lot about his missions but for sure he killed a lot. Even before the war broke, he would handle any spies, infiltrators, and deserters etc. tailing people and keeping tabs on them, as well. what cater saw in c.oncordia that one scene is one of class 9 cadets on a mission. this is exactly what king used to--sneak around, gather info then deal with the target. it is most likely why he uses normal guns, they are efficient to take down someone and won't be hindered by magic abilities (sort of.) King carried over his sense for weather, and of course, his inability to 'imagine' seen in the last scene in the game. he said 'I can't imagine that future.' because he only sees facts & orders. King in the game his aim is affected by the game's weather but that what makes him the strangest and weirdest of them all. no one like him get affected by weather like literally look at the stats he is always the last or somewhere above last. the only high stat for him is his ice magic and he is placed 7th. In his job as a OPs operator didn't entail he had to be the best at attacks, or defense etc but a strong and unshakable mentality. this is seen in a lot of interactions in the game, whether with aria, nine's antics, trey's long rants, with machina's burst, telling off queen for her actions, analyzing the situation at times etc. He is not the type to jump the gun at anything that is why he always keeps quiet and observes in the back. king's personality is shaped and well, bounded to be almost like, almost a robot--apathetic and cold. so it is obvious he feels at times not fitting in the class if you play the game--like he is always just an extra guy to fill the space. in truth when you look at it, king is needed so the others won't stray. perhaps at some cycles he was the eyes for arecia maybe? she does not need his help that is for sure but an 'equalizer'? of some sort? what i'm trying to say he balance out the group. there are the calm zeroes and there are the rowdy bunch and in the middle the in between and he does not fit in any of these three because he can be invisible at times. he is there to make sure these groups are working together by being the invisible link (controlling nine's burst, guiding queen, helping seven care for these children, indulging in some ROCK'NROLL BABAYYYY jk.) but yeah. i honestly didn't like king that much but he grew on me on my second game play especially when you unlock some side options to see how he deals with people. yes. king.

now that finished my zeroes it is time for my own oc, mister einar vilho. since im guilty with not showing my ocs the love i should give it is time to think more about him. since we talk about the other cycles, einar has changed too, during these 6million cycles. there were cycles when he was still with his family. there were cycles when he didn't lose his arm. and of course, dead in other cycles. i want to think he was killed on the bridge battle like i intended for him to be but in the agito cycle; hence why he is so cold and more desperate to in type0 to find an ending to this war. perhaps what he carried over from all these cycles are his hatred for war. the fact he has to see children' malnourished bodies dead and rotting on the outskirts of the city gate because what? because his country cannot provide for all of its citizens let alone any hostages they take from rubrum. to see helpless kids who cant fend for themselves dying because a crazed man said we go for war is unimaginable. but perhaps what is carried that the sense he has to fix this by climbing the ladder and what a role model to take than mister qator ??? the guy has similar plan in his mind, or so he thinks. einar abhors war but only a foolish would flab his gums without doing anything. he can protest all he wants, he will be dead before he can say 'fuck the crystal wishes' Cid is unforgiving. if he caught a wind of it not only einar will be in danger, but everyone who knows him. the cull will begin with his dearest uncle then go forth to anyone who knew him. that is something he tried to avoid by being a good 'dog' in the milites army. it did him good because he managed after a while to become a captain of his own platoon and luckily he and his men share the same feeling--war is meaningless. but again, there is nothing they can do except wait and hold for the right moment to act. it is why he is actually good with children but he needs to believe in it lol. man thinks he is a popsicle destined to ice on his own for the rest of his days. buuut dab he got an amazing wife to say no to sadness ;u; merci sora for warming that milities popsicle's heart.

due to everyone’s schedules and the number of channels renewed, we limited the number of personal channels accepted. we’ve mentioned some of the rules and requirements to this over HERE, but we wanted to expand a bit further so you can get a better idea of how the personal channels are set up:

depending on the muse’s NOTORIETY (at the time of this post), the writing requirements may vary slightly so please pay attention to that when planning when to write the solos/posts!

once the debuted artist has created a personal channel, they will be expected to pay any of the expenses that might be used. so if you’re planning on doing some sort of game or challenge with a guest, do note that they will be given the bare minimum especially that the selected artists are just starting their channels.

since there is an option to invite a GUEST on the show once per trimester, this will probably be filmed during a time when BOTH the host and guest are free. generally speaking, actors and idols usually are the busiest due to their schedules followed by models and trainees so take that into consideration when thinking of who to invite. for this term the guests have been randomly assigned based on groups/paths. this means that in the latter section you will see which muse is paired up with the group/path and should you choose to have a guest, the guest must be someone from that group/path. the guest should also be someone who HASN'T made an appearance on the show before.

as a reminder, we discourage any prior plot calls off dash to ensure fairness and inclusivity towards everyone who might be interested in participating as a guest on the personal channels.

in terms of traveling, the debuted artist can travel to different parts of korea but most likely that will be filmed on sunday, which is the day that everyone has a day off (exception is if they’re given a holiday break like chuseok). if the debuted artist plans to do that at any time during the trimester, they will have to do all of the filming by themselves.

the length of the videos vary, but typically each video is about 10-25 minutes long with all of the editing! like mentioned previously, the guest will NOT receive any points for replying to the thread if the personal channel owner chooses to do the thread component. in addition to this, it is encouraged that any of the HOST muns who have multiple muses should be mindful of whether they should guest in other people’s personal channels. this is because we want to consider this as an opportunity for the HOSTS to get to know their fellow colleagues and use this as a chance to thread with muses whom they might not be able to interact with on a daily basis due to their schedules.

after the deadline has passed, we’ll add on the lgc master sheet (specifically on the LGCMEDIA SCHEDULE tab) when the episodes that you’ve submitted were aired. as a reminder, the debuted artist has released more episodes than the number that was written for this trimester.

he was scouted while in line for the men’s washroom at his school’s music festival and he thought he was being scammed at first. he actually put off calling the recruiter dude back for a long time until someone joked that he had the looks to be an idol and he suddenly remembered it and called as a joke and to sate his curiosity

he had no dreams whatsoever of being an idol and was pursuing a career in business, hoping to open his own cafe one day.. it's still his dream but he's put it on the backburner for now because he's found that he really does enjoy being an idol

was convinced by a close friend to audition since he’s always been good at singing + dancing even if he was usually just fooling around with friends either at karaoke or when they booked a studio for fun

he auditioned with singing (he sang iu’s hold my hand) and doing a little freestyle dance that was requested of him and surprisingly passed the audition and became an official legacy trainee in january of 2018

his parents were kind of ??? when he told them and originally weren’t very supportive because it was so sudden and he’s not usually *that* spontaneous but as he started settling into being a trainee and enjoying it, they’ve come around and now are his biggest fans

also it probably helped that jaesun and jaehwa were in the company (they’re cousins on their moms’ side)

during his trainee days, he really stuck to himself and only worked to better himself. he never really saw anyone as a rival and only saw his past self as his rival and wanted to continuously become the better version of himself. he was always Peak Introvert so the way he made friends was that he was awkward enough that extroverted people would come and take him under their wing LOL

he was pretty popular from the very first season of future dreams and was one of the front runners for all seasons he participated in, and eventually was confirmed to debut in season 3 of future dreams, and later debuted as the leader of agito on august 27, 2021

was entirely shocked that he was given the leader role because he’s such an introvert and didn't think he did too well during all the times he was in the leader position but has since sort of stepped and grown into the role and loves it now

he’s notoriously confident in himself, and has always been though it might have been slightly Extra before, he truly thinks he deserves to act that way now LOL

i always liken him to a cat (his official emoji on bubble and translation accounts is 🐱) but specifically a cat who’s owner has told him “no, don’t you dare” as he holds eye contact and then immediately smacks the bottle off the table without a second thought

he’s currently working on writing and producing songs, wanting to write and produce a full song for agito one day (i want him to become the bang chan/hongjoong of agito) as currently has the most credits for lyric writing in all of the new gen of legacy artists

is notoriously known to spend the majority of his waking hours in his personal studio (the v&a members tend to come and drag him home at night)

aside from v&a stuff, he’s publicly known for being a model and also for putting out a lot of covers on v&a’s youtube channel

he recently put out a studio choom dance cover and he’s very proud of it and is somewhat interested in possibly acting more but he's happy with what he's doing and what he's accomplished so far

In the early Final Fantasy games being made a Warrior of Light by a crystal was shown in heroic light, but in the Fabula Nova Crystallis series the equivalent fate of a l'Cie reflects a more sinister state, calling the person's free will into question.

Final Fantasy Agito XIII is part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis like Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which Verum Rex is based on. In the Type-0/Agito series, the people believe that the Crystal will continue to guide them down the right path as long as they follow its divine will, so they tell each other “May the Crystal guide you.”

In KH3, Luxord says that he was told that the box contains “hope.” The Crystals are frequently referred to as “beacons of hope.” The Crystals are the embodiment of light and serve as symbols of hope to humanity.

In the Type-0/Agito series, the Crystals will choose someone with a “strong heart” to become a l’Cie in order to protect them. It communicates with the l’Cie telepathically and no one else can hear its voice, so it’s the l’Cie’s job to do as it instructs and convey the Crystal’s will to others.

The l’Cie stones offer a lot of insight into what it means to be a l’Cie. They’re all really interesting, imo.

At the age of 35, however, it dawned to me that I might better serve the empire by protecting our beacon of hope and thus ensuring its light may guide our nation forever more. Now cognizant of the truth about this world, though, I know our Crystal will only truly be safe from harm once all of Orience is united under the emblem of the White Tiger—and I believe I have found the one man who can accomplish such an incredible task. I have fulfilled my role, and the future of our world rests in his hands.

I like this one a lot because the “truth of the world” Theo was referring to is the fact that the war had ended the world before.

In the original concept of Agito XIII, anyone who attended Akademeia would have been able to make a “blood pact” with the Vermilion Bird Crystal to receive blessings such as weapons and powers. This is shown in the first Agito XIIi trailer when Ace enters the Crystal’s room and presses his thumb to a pedestal which lights up the gears around the room. A set of cards then appear on the pedestal for him to take.

A l’Cie’s Focus is called a “role” in Japanese. It’s the same word they use in Back Cover when the MoM assigns roles to all of his apprentices. One would assume that he had a role of his own.

Demyx's current state could be a result of him being away from the Crystal. L’Cie turn into Cie’th when they refuse or fail to follow their roles, so separating himself from the object he was supposed to protect could have had some type of degenerative effect on him. When Celestia went against the Azure Dragon Crystal in order to help Class Zero, she lost her sense of self and turned into a dragon.

Alternatively, he’s still connected to the Crystal. Even l’Cie who obey the Crystal will gradually lose their sense of self. Upon becoming a l’Cie, Machina had to constantly remind himself of his own past.

I mean, there are other explanations for how the MoM went from A to B, but these explanations came in the box, so they’re worth consideration.

The MoM’s clock tower in Daybreak Town was based on a design that comes from Akademeia in Type-0. (It was designed by Yusaku Nakaaki.) Here I’ve overlayed the concept art from the Type-0 design book with a screenshot from KHUX. Akademeia was the home of the Vermilion Bird Crystal. It was built to be its shrine. The Crystal is located underground, below Akademeia.

Demyx is nearly identical to Jack who attends Akademeia. Same face, same personality, same voice actor. Very important piece of info.

I don’t have trouble believing Demyx when he says that he’s on Riku’s side. But his theoretical Crystal overlord might have other thoughts that could later put them in conflict. With all of this in mind, it’s easy for me to understand how the MoM could end up starting a war and sacrificing a town full of children.

The Vermilion Bird Crystal told Caetuna that she should sacrifice the majority of Rubrum’s citizens to summon the Verboten Eidolon. She thought that sounded reasonable.

Khalia: You… You can’t be serious! You want to offer the lives of Dominion civilians?! Caetuna: Should half of the powerless be offered, the summon can be performed. Promptly begin the preparations. Arecia: …The Crystal is most rational, isn’t it? In a manner of speaking, to win the war, it chose the path with the least sacrifices. Arecia: No matter how many people die, it won’t subtract from the number of soldiers and cadets. It’s a strategy to massacre the Milites army while retaining the Rubrum army’s present strength.

This is an example of the relationship between a Crystal and its l’Cie at its most sinister. Caetuna is otherwise depicted as wise, graceful, and kind.

The Azure Dragon Crystal gave the queen of Concordia the power to see the future. (”If she could see the future, why didn’t she just stop the war and save the world herself?” 🤪)

Behold the extremely convenient built-in explanation for how the MoM obtained the Gazing Eye. No Crystal? No power. If the source of his power is in the box, then it just as easily explains why Demyx wouldn’t have the Gazing Eye.

During the Militesi Assault on Akademeia, the Imperial forces deployed two crystal jammers to suppress the Dominion's magic: one aboard a dreadnought, and another built into a Magitek Armor. Severed from their Crystal's blessing, Rubrum's cadets, legionaries, and l'Cie were left all but powerless.

"May your heart be your guiding key” feels like the opposite of “May the Crystal guide you.” If the MoM had no choice but to do what the Crystal instructed, then it may have benefited him to tell others to do what he couldn’t. It’s ironic. The guy who says it the most might not have been able to follow his own heart. :’)

Demyx believes that he joined the Organization because he wanted friends. What the Crystal wants can be totally separate from what a l’Cie wants, but a l’Cie can only do as the Crystal commands. The Darkness refer to themselves as the MoM’s friends, but he doesn’t seem to share their feelings. Unable to freely make friends as he pleased, they may have been the only “friends” he was able to have. I get the feeling that they thought they could use their pseudo-friendship as a bargaining chip to make him stay because they thought it was something he valued. (Oof... Rejected.)

Anyway, I maintain that if you know everything about the Agito series, it’ll probably be possible to arrange all of the information in a way that spells out exactly what’s up with the MoM. So, even if I’m not perfectly correct, I feel safe assuming that I’m at least very close.

Crimson Ace Reviews: Kamen Rider Gavv, Episode 1

Hey, it's been a while, hasn't it?

I'll admit, I've been busy with my other blog and a lot of real life stuff to put a lot of time into this one, but I managed to find a little compromise to still post without needing as much time as my other posts: weekly episode reviews. Starting today, I'll be taking a look at the new Kamen Rider series, and gradually include reviews of each episode of the next Super Sentai and Ultraman series as well.

With that being said, let's get into Kamen Rider Gavv's first episode: A Snack Kamen Rider?!

The series opens with our main character, Shoma, running away from some faceless goons. He tries to get out through a door, only to end up in what I can only assume is a rejected room from Labyrinth.

Let's hope none of the villains this season have massive codpieces like Jareth.

After a short scuffle, Shoma falls through one of the doors in the room and into the human world.

Yes, unlike other Kamen Rider protagonists, Shoma is an alien who has just arrived on Earth. This is something that has never happened before in the show's history.

Like I said, NEVER. HAPPENED.

After a boy finds Shoma unconscious at a beach (insert your own Agito joke here), Shoma wakes up and has one thing on his mind.

The boy, named Hajime, helps Shoma get up and takes him to his secret hideout, but not before Shoma has to save him from getting hit by a car. Unfortunately, he can't save the car from getting hit by him.

Look, just say you had an adrenaline rush, and everyone will believe you. Worked for the guy from Twilight.

Meanwhile, a freelance writer named Hanto interviews a woman about her missing husband, claiming the source is a monster.

Now I'm not a reporter, but I'm pretty sure you shouldn't smile while talking to a grieving widow about her possibly dead husband.

Hanto's mentor chides him for his behavior and believes it to be her covering up a murder. After all, this is Kamen Rider. We all know monsters don't exist. So anyway, we cut to someone delivering shrunken humans tied up in Fruit by the Foot to another masked goon like the ones who chased Shoma, receiving a cube of some kind as payment.

Like I said, no such thing as monsters.

Shoma is taken to Hajime's hangout spot and is given some candy to eat. As soon as he tries a few gummies, he gives birth to something through a strange red thing on his stomach.

Shockingly, this isn't how Shoma's kind reproduces, and Shoma himself doesn't know what the hell this thing is (while it's not mentioned in the episode, these things will be called Gochizos). After telling Hajime that he's an alien, Shoma explains that the red thing is something his kind has called a “Gavv”.

Hajime goes home for dinner, so he tells Shoma to stay at the hideout and not break any more cars. Meanwhile, the shady man from earlier takes out his “payment” of a strange gummy cube as a large tongue shoots out of his stomach, revealing he's like Shoma.

What the hell, dude?! If you're going to play with your Gavv, at least do it in private!

We get a brief flashback with a young Shoma and his mother, the latter tells Shoma how he absolutely cannot eat human snacks. She doesn't say why because we still need to justify the show's gimmick and because it makes for better drama later on. Afterwards, Hajime is making his way home, only to be stalked by the same creepy dude, who says he wants to steal his happiness for something called a “Dark Treat”, the same cube thing he got earlier. Shoma saves him just as the man transforms into a hound-themed monster.

Shoma calls the monster out, revealing that like him, he's a Granute, the name of the alien race Shoma is a part of.

So after the two compare Gavv sizes, they fight. Shoma has super strength, but the Hound Granute isn't a car, so Shoma gets his ass kicked. This reminds Shoma of how it was impossible for him to save his mom, who was turned into the same Fruit by the Foot thing as the Hound Granute's victims. Right when Shoma gains the resolve to protect Hajime, the Gochizos come to save him, telling Shoma to put one of them, labeled “Poppin Gummy” in his Gavv. This allows him to transform into a Kamen Rider.

Base form's got a pretty decent design. Nice blend of colors here and there, but the bottom half is rather underdesigned.

As Shoma fights in his new form, we see how much his armor kind of sucks. Because it's made of gummies, it's easy for the Hound Granute to punch them off, so Shoma is forced to use more of those snack creatures to recreate his armor. As the two keep fighting, Hajime's mother appears out of nowhere to scream about the two “monsters”.

I'm guessing she went to call her American cousin Jonah afterwards.

After Hajime's mother takes him away to safety, the Granute Hound tries to get under Shoma's skin by calling him a monster. Shoma's response?

Yeah, Shoma may be a monster, but he's the monster who's going to kick your ass.

Shoma tries to break out his new weapon, the Gavvgablade, only for its finisher which shoots a Gochizo at the enemy to fail miserably. And I don't mean like it's not strong enough to kill him right then and there. It harmlessly bounces off the Granute Hound.

Maybe don't portray your new hero's armor and equipment as weak and fragile if you want kids to buy your toys.

Granute Hound escapes in a quadrupedal form, so Shoma gives chase on his new, ATV, created by another Gochizo and clearly CGI.

The next part of the fight is a very obvious CGI fest that's meant to get around Japan's dumb anti-customized vehicle laws and justify calling this show Kamen Rider Gavv. After that, Shoma unleashes the power of a different Gochizo, Kickin Gummy. This gives him a giant foot to use for his Rider Kick, ending the Granute Hound.

The next morning, Shoma leaves Hajime's hideout, eats all his snacks, and leaves a letter explaining why he'll keep his alien identity a secret going forward. Shoma uses the same Gochizo as last time to create a less goofy bike and rides off... only for the episode to end with him unconscious again only someone else finds him like this. I'm guessing the term “food coma” means something different for the Granutes.

Conclusion and Final Thoughts:

Much like SF Debris, I'll be giving awards to certain cliches and recurring themes I've noticed are prevalent in tokusatsu.

Shiny New Toy: For Shoma's Gavv and the Gochizo he created.

No Parents Allowed: For Shoma's mother, who was captured before the series began.

Kenny of the Week: For Hajime, being a small child character who becomes important to the plot. If you watch Brandon's Cult Movie Reviews, you'll get it.

Death by Rider Kick: For the Granute Hound, obviously.

This was a pretty solid first episode, all things considered. It sets up the main conflict, establishes Shoma's character and has good action. Shoma is a very likable protagonist, and he's a fine middle ground from a Rider getting the hang of his powers and a Rider who knows about the conflict of the series. Unlike other seasons where the main character is a rookie who has to figure out how his powers work, Shoma doesn't have a mentor or confidant to help him like Aruto, Touma, Ikki and Houtaro did. He's pretty much winging it as he goes along, but he's still going to fight as a Kamen Rider.

The only real gripe I have is that Hajime is shoved aside at the end despite being set up as a major character. Maybe he'll appear later on, but it's really strange that we spent so much time with him in the pilot only for the episode to end with someone else taking him in, especially since the second episode preview shows this woman serving a similar role as Shoma's confidant.

But putting aside, this was a pretty sweet way to start Kamen Rider Gavv.

Next time on Kamen Rider Gavv: Shoma discovers Pringles. That might not sound interesting, but when you're one of the only superheroes in existence who gets his powers from junk food, it's a big deal.

“My name is Taeha! My name is Taeha! Hi, I’m Taeha! LGC Girl’s Unofficial Sailor Scout - “ Oh, don't forget the transformation twirl, she thinks to herself, stepping away from the wall to give a quick spin. “Taeha!”

It’s a bit silly to be muttering to herself in the hallway when LGC Girls were a mere eight minutes from showtime. And she really tried her best to contain her nerves energy to her seat in the green room, but she knew it was only  a matter of time before she was going to explode ( ...or burst into tears, whichever came first ). Agonizing over her introduction seemed like a much better option. 

It was a pretty simple task, really. Join the hosts, stand on your mark, do your group introduction, then wait your turn for the talent portion. Easy peasy! …Then why were her palms still this sweaty?! It wasn’t like her chosen talent was all that exciting. It was just a simple combination that she could practically do in her sleep by now. Yet, she couldn't shake the nagging feeling that the moment she was called to perform it all dance knowledge would slip right out of her brain and she’d be left doing the worm or something just as goofy.

So, to prove to herself that her silly worries were just that, silly, she steps  out into the hall and runs through her solo introduction. One turn, two turn, high kick! The first run felt okay, but she knew she could make it even better. Besides, a team win was on the line here and her first impression needed to be perfect. She steps back into place and counts off. One turn, two turn, high ki - ! Oblivious to her surroundings ( as always ), Taeha had somehow managed to make contact with a passerby in the middle of her rehearsal session... Right in the - Oh. Oh, that’s not good.

“Oh my gosh, I’m s - so sorry!” Taeha gasps, stumbling backward a few steps, her hands shooting up to cover her mouth in horror at the man - the Agito member - standing... well, crumbling before her.
