Chapter 2: I Just Realized My Boyfriend is a Dick

“I speak english sweetheart, what seems to be the problem?” she asked.

“I think I- no I know I switched phones with someone back in America before getting on the plane and now they have my phone somewhere, probably looking through my messages, my pictures, oh Rao my pictures,” Jon said and another wave of panic spread through the teen and the girl chuckled slightly.

“What scared the poor person is gonna see some package they weren’t expecting?” she asked having the audacity to laugh.

“Yeah, my rich famous boyfriend’s,” Jon said shaking her by the shoulders and her face sombered up.

“Well, let’s see what we can do to get you your phone back, I’m Alya.”

“Jon Kent,” Jon said and Alya’s eyes widened.

“As in like Lois Lane’s son?” Alya asked smiling widely. “As in like dating Damian Wayne Jonathan Kent?” Alya asked smile growing bigger than the Joker’s. “I can see why you need that phone back now.”

“I was supposed to be meeting the owner of the phone’s friends here, you wouldn’t happen to be friends with a girl named Marinette right cause I mean your name is Alya and she mentioned....” Jon started and Alya laughed as a boy came over to join her.

“Nino you’re not going to believe this, Marinette traded phones with that stranger that we’re supposed to show around,” Alya said laughing so hard she was almost crying now and Nino joined in the giggles.

“This isn’t funny as much as I want to trust your friend, she has no idea what kind of stuff is on my phone… she doesn’t even know who I am,” Jon said shaking Alya’s shoulders.

“You know your own phone number right? Why not just call it from the phone as an emergency call, and I do know her password if that’s a problem,” Alya said trying to calm down the panicked teen. “Also I don’t think Mari would be the type to leak those kinds of things,” Alya said nudging Jon who rolled his eyes. There weren’t even any dick picks on his phone, more like mission statements that had the exact time and place he was supposed to meet the heroes and stuff that could totally compromise his identity. He just hoped that Damian put a password on it.

Marinette stared up at the ceiling as the phone next to her kept buzzing. She didn’t want to be rude and look especially since Jon wouldn’t do the same with her phone, at least she hoped not but whoever this was really needed to stop texting. She picked up the phone and the screen opened almost immediately. No password.

From Dami: Beloved have you landed yet? Jon are you ok? Did something happen? I knew this was a bad idea. Let me call my father and I’ll be over there right away. He said I couldn’t go, that we needed space but please text me back so I know you’re ok Jon.

Marinette felt guilty for what she was about to do but if it would soothe the boy of the other end’s nerves about sweet Jon for even a moment, she would do it.

To Dami: Nothing is wrong, I just landed.

Marinette texted back nervously and she shut the phone off feeling dirty for lying to her new friend’s boyfriend. It was wrong, so wrong. Marinette picked up the phone and started scrolling through the pictures app curiously. It couldn’t help to indirectly get to know her new friend through pictures.

From Dami: Good to hear beloved, I was getting worried, get some rest we can talk tomorrow.

Marinette clicked on the text gnawing on her bottom lip. Did Jon seem like the type to say I love you after all this? There were no previous texts so it was obviously a new phone with no backups saved.

To Dami: I’ll do that, love you.

She responded and the text was left on read. “What an asshole,” Marinette said to herself before clicking back on the pictures app a bunch of pictures of a white dog with various people filled most of his camera roll as she scrolled through. Pictures of people who must have been family based on the glasses and familiar face shape took up a bunch too but one picture stood out to her the most. It was a selfie taken by a masked teen pressing his lips up to Superboy’s. She dropped the phone on the ground. “Shit.”

Jon paced against the floors of Alya and Nino’s apartment nervously. 

“Dude calm down, we’ll get this all figured out ok?” Nino said and Jon nodded as Nino called his phone number again with no answer. 

“Oh my Rao that asshole,” Jon said suddenly and Alya looked offended.

“Listen I’m sure Marinette just doesn’t want to answer on a stranger’s phone or she’s asleep, no reason to name call,” Alya said offended.

“Not her, Damian, he must have changed the phone number after it got leaked last week, I was missing my phone then suddenly Damian gets me a new one, it all makes sense now and now I have no idea what the number is,” Jon said burying his head in his hands. “That also means that my old one is in Marinette’s but that won’t help either,” Jon said slumping, pushing the Iphone across the table roughly.

“Wait did you say boyfriend?” Nino asked after a moment.

“Is that a problem here, Marinette seemed ok with it and so did Alya so,” Jon started looking panicked not wanting to lose one of the two people who could help him through this hectic circumstance.

“No not at all, it’s just Mari and Adrien have been off their game lately, maybe you could pretend to text Adrien as Marinette but you know flirtier a you style, you guys are a lot alike,” Nino suggested and Alya smirked.

“More like twins, but he’s got a point, I’m sure Marinette would do the same in your situation,” Alya said and Jon picked up the phone seeing a text from a weird name: Chaton.

“Who the hell is Chaton?” Jon asked and Alya looked at Nino and panicked. 

“Um, Marinette thinks our resident hero Chat Noir looks a little like Adrien it’s just a joke they have going on,” Alya said and Jon shrugged before remembering.

“You guys have heroes here, I forgot about that, do they like patrol or something it might be nice to get a glimpse of them,” Jon said attempting to get the information that was supposed to be on his phone from the Parisians.

“Yeah, they’re normally out at night and thanks to the time change you might just be able to see them at some point,” Nino said smiling.

Jon looked back down at the phone smiling. Perfect.

From Chaton: I’ll miss you tonight, good luck in Gotham.  I’m also sorry about earlier, I should have been nicer to you about the whole leaving thing. Dad’s just been getting worse lately, he never has any time left. Not like he ever did before though.

Jon had no idea how to react. Nino looked uncomfortable reading over his shoulder and Alya sighed.

To Chaton: It’s ok, I forgive you, I’m a bit tired after the flight, I’ll text you tomorrow though, I love you.

Jon hit send and got hit with a read. Jerk.

Nino put a hand on his shoulder. “Let’s take you to your hotel and get you settled it,” Nino said and they left the comfort of the apartment. All Jon could think about was how bad he felt for poor Marinette.

Betrothal Pt. 2

When Marinette receives Tikki she is freaked out at first but quickly has her explain what she can do as Ladybug, before transforming and taking the Akuma out easily without Chats help.

 She still does the speech to Paris after taking out Hawkmoth's butterfly face thingy.

Alix and Nathaniel are already in her bedroom by the time she gets back, both immediately knowing that Ladybug was their Marinette.

The next day Marinette has Alya claiming they were best friends, she decides to give the girl a chance but doesn't actually bring her into her personal friend group. Plus she really doesnt like that Alya 100% believes that she has a crush on Adrien, all because she had a picture from his recent shoot that she was going to put on her inspiration board.

Alya ignores that and gets all the girls except Alix in on trying to get them together. Marinette continuously tries to get them to stop but after a while she gives up.

Marinette also goes over footage of her fights pointing out to Tikki how under trained Chat Noir is.

"Tikki I'm not doing this because I want a new partner. I'm doing this because I don't want him to die, which he will if we don't train him properly! Stop thinking about this so-called Guardian and think about Chat Noir's life!"

Tikki relents and the next night she and Chat have a heart to heart. She explains to him that she isnt in love with him and won't be, she tells him she's been betrothed since birth. At first Chat points out that the holders are supposed to be soulmates, but Ladybug points out that if anything they are platonic soulmates. She tells him that she wants them to know each other's identities because they are partners and they need to trust each other with their lives. She tells him she'll only allow it if he agrees to begin training with her. Chat Noir agrees and they reveal themselves both a little shocked.

The next day Adrien quits Fencing without telling his father or Nathalie and goes to Marinette's house to begin training with her,  Alix, and Nathaniel.

Adrien realizes after a month that he only thinks of Marinette as a sister. He starts to get annoyed when the boys, except Nathaniel, try pushing him to ask her out.

When it's almost summer Marinette tells Tikki that she is going to Gotham for the summer. Tikki goes to the Guardian and Fu gives her Kaalki in order for Marinette to travel back and forth for attacks.

When the school year ends Marinette's mother is waiting in the car with Marinette's bags on the last day. She kisses Alix Adrien and Nathaniel's cheeks telling them to keep training while she is gone, and promises to be safe. The rest of the class quickly surrounds her asking where she's going and why she isn't spending the summer with them.

"I'm going to Gotham. I go every other year, this is nothing new. I've been doing this for years."

Alya makes a big stink about her 'bestie' leaving and the class tries to convince her to stay. This upsets Alix and Nathaniel, both know the class never cared before, they didn't even help stand up to bullies. Adrien himself wants her to stay but he can see how much she wants to see Damian, so he just kisses her cheeks gently and wishes her a safe trip before opening the door for her. Marinette thanks him as she gets in waving goodbye to her friends before they drive away.

During the school year Damian meets and befriends Jon Kent. At first they dont get along but Damian warms up to him. Damian is proud of Marinette when she becomes a hero, and that their friends are training hard to be ones as well. He even gets permission from Bruce to allow Marinette to train and patrol with them.

Dick and Damian pick Marinette up from the airport and soon everyone in Gotham is talking about Marinette being back. What's even more talked about over the summer is the small dates the two begin to go on.

Halfway through the summer Damian admits to Marinette that he is in love with her and that even if they weren't betrothed he'd still want to marry her. Marinette kisses him softly telling him that she feels exactly the same.

Marinette is excited when she first patrols Gotham with Damian and Dick by her side taking the name Bluebird. 

Bluebird mainly patrols with Nightwing, they both take on Bludhaven side by side. Bluebird patrols  with Robin and Batman every Sunday. Her mandatory night off is on Friday with Robin both of them labeling it their date nights.

Soon after making her debut as Bluebird Marinette discovers Tiktok, and a treasure trove of videos featuring the Wayne family and the Batfamily. She immediately creates two Tiktoks after getting a second phone under a fake identification. This phone is strictly for Bluebird, and so is the Tiktok.

Marinette's favorite Tiktoks are the ones saying that Bruce Wayne is Batman because the butts match. Her Tiktok blows up when her first video is posted.

It starts off with Marinette smiling at the camera with Damian and Bruce standing behind her. When Bruce turns around she gasps opening her eyes widely and whispers to the camera. "Omg...the butts match!"

Marinette continues to make videos of the entire family without any of them noticing, both as Marinette and Bluebird. Both accounts are verified within a week. She posts multiple videos a day all featuring a different member.

The most popular video of Dick is him hanging upside down from a chandelier all smiles while Damian is a few feet away looking up at him.

Damian-It's going to fall.

Dick-No after the first couple times Dad got this one reinforced so it wouldn't.

Tim walked past literally drinking from a coffee pot-No he got the one near the West sitting room reinforced.

Dick looks up when the ceil creaks and a second layer he and the chandelier are falling

Dick-Shi-!!

The video then cuts off.

Jason's most popular video is him blindfolded as he puts a gun back together in seconds not knowing Bruce is behind him.

Jason- Impressive right?

Bruce- I thought I said no guns in the manor

Jason screams before calming down- Oh its you I thought it was Alfred.

Alfred- Master Jason

Jason screams and tries to run with the blindfold still on but runs into a wall.

Tim's popular video is multiple clips of Tim right as he passes out and falls with a loud thump. After three clips people here three voices yelling Timber in the background after he faints. The last video shows Tim knocking over a bookcase only to look at Marinette confused when he hears Timber screamed from three different parts of the manor.

Cass's popular video is very sweet. It's different clips of her taking care of and spending time with her family. The first clip is her slowly reading aloud curled up next to Bruce, the next is her pushing a chair underneath Dick as he goes to sit down after Jason pulled the other one out without him realizing. Third is her gently cleaning a cut Jason got after falling from a tree. Fourth is her covering Tim with a blanket and moving his work onto the table. Fifth is her painting Stephanie's nails while Barbara does Stephanie's hair for a date. Six is her carefully moving Damian to his room trying not to wake him up. Seven is her helping Alfred during spring cleaning, and eighth is her posing in some of Marinette's clothes as the boys help with lighting and Stephanie takes the pictures.

Bluebird's Tiktok features a lot of videos of her flipping around and laughing wildly as a few older villains run away yelling about the second coming of the first Robin. After every  one of those videos another is posted of Nightwing bent over cackling at what the villains yelled. Everyone in Gotham is thrilled when it's confirmed that Nightwing is actually the first Robin, all recognizing the cackle. A few videos feature the Batfamily arguing through body gestures without saying anything, she'll flip the camera around to show her grinning and writing will pop up saying what they were arguing about. Most of the time is about getting food while on patrol, but one time Red Hood insulted Nightwings butt. The two most popular videos are one where she is a few feet behind Batman and all you see is his cape and head, and she has "Bruce Wayne???" written in. The second is Red Robin sitting in the back of an ambulance with a shock blanket around his shoulders.

Red Robin-  What now? I'm in shock! Look I've got a blanket!

Batman- Red Robin!

Red Robin- And I just delivered twins while stuck in an elevator! Twins Batman!!

Batman turns and walks away silently while Red Robin looks at the paramedic.

Red Robin- Im going to regret that during training tomorrow.

The only time Bluebird makes noise during a Tiktok is when she is laughing wildly. She does this because both her Tiktoks are popular and she doesn't want to take the chance of someone recognizing her voice. She is not worried about the wild laughter because she is calmer as Marinette but as Bluebird she lets herself be wild and carefree. Batman enjoys having Bluebird on patrol with him, her hero persona reminds him of when he and the first Robin started.

Marinette announces that her and Damian are finally dating in a Tiktok showing them on a date at the parks with Barbara and Dick as their 'chaperones'. The video shows her holding his hand walking behind him before she flips the camera and winks at it, in the background walking behind them is Dick pushing Barbara's wheelchair, while looking down at her lovingly.

An hour later Marinette is recording a video where they had been pulled over by Commissioner Gordon himself. Dick is pale as he nods to everything Gordon says while Barbara is groaning refusing to even acknowledge her dad. Before the video cuts out she whispers, 'I forgot a lot of Gotham officers follow me, oops���'

The family also helped Marinette master the art of coming up with excuses and slip out without being noticed, for when she has to rush back to Paris.

The family celebrates their birthday together before having a Gala the night after celebrating it for the cameras. The family shows up wearing Marinette's own designs and she is buzzing with excitement when multiple people ask for the designer's information for commissions, they turn 14.

When summer is coming to an end Marinette really doesn't want to leave but she knows she must. Marinette promises to visit for Christmas.

When she returns she is excited to see Alix, Nathaniel and Adrien at the airport with Gorilla to pick her up. Adrien smiles mischievously, telling her that his father agreed after Adrien mentioned that his friend was a rising Fashion designer, MDC. 

Marinette enjoys her first day back spending it with her friends. The next day she is slightly annoyed when Alya bursts into her room at 7 in the morning demanding details about her trip and if she met anyone famous.

Marinette decided in that moment that she was very thankful she never shared her Insta with Alya and that Alya doesn't know about Tiktok. She does however indulge the girl telling her she had a lot of fun and tells her some of what she did. Alya is quick to tell her all about what the class did together and what she did over the summer. However her tune changes when she sees a few pictures of Adrien pinned to a board, and suddenly she's once again trying to come up with ideas to get them together. At this point Marinette is thankful when her mother comes up, asking Alya to leave so that Marinette can help with chores.

The school year starts the same as always and Marinette decides to run for class president. She is surprised when she wins and names Nathaniel her vice president much to Alya's annoyance.

Marinette also meets Jagged Stone only a month into the school year after designing glasses and an album cover for him. At first Jagged doesn't realize the rockin' girl that made his glasses was MDC until at a party when someone excitedly points out the MDC signature on the side. He begins talking to her more with her parents permission and takes her in as his new niece. Soon he is only wearing clothes that she makes.

Half way through the year Lila shows up. The class sans Mari, Adrien, Alix, Nathaniel, and Chloe are all taken by her immediately. Marinette is not there the day she arrives.Lila attempts to lie her way into Adrien's graces using her Ladybug excuse. But Adrien quickly tells her that he doesn't want to hear it, because there is no way Ladybug would let her defenseless or possibly disabled friends know her Identity out of fear they'd get targeted.

Lila is outraged that her lie failed, but she wants Adrien under her thumb and starts devising a plan for it to happen.

The next day Lila tries to charm Marinette when she is upset over her desk being switched without even asking her. When everyone heads out for lunch she quickly snatches up Marinette apologizing and selling her sob story of Jagged's kitten. She is shocked when Marinette begins to laugh and tells her that it was a nice try but Jagged Stone has a crocodile named Fang because he is allergic to fur. Lila gets even madder and decides to just threaten Marinette telling her that she'd take away all of the class. Marinette just rolls her eyes and tells her good luck with that before walking away to join her friends.

When the four return from lunch they find Lila sitting and crying with the class surrounding her as Alya comforts her.

Lila is quick to claim that Marinette refused to listen to her when she tried to explain the seat switch and that instead she made fun of Lila's disabilities. Alya is upset at Marinette and tells her that she is disappointed that her best friend would act like this and that she needs to give Lila a chance.

Marinette just signs walking back to her new seat and sits down, Adrien follows her up and sits next to her while Alix and Nathaniel take the bench in front of them.

Alya huffs continuing to comfort Lila until she finally stops fake crying, the rest of the class sits down in their seats and starts talking again. However they don't talk to the four

As Lila is there she slowly learns more and more about Adrien and Marinette planning on getting Adrien under her thumb and to take Marinette out. She learns about Marinette's huge crush, Alya's words, on Adrien and that Adrien's dad is so strict that he won't even let him have a birthday party. She begins studying the two of them before making her final plans.

She attempts to get Marinette expelled but fails when the Principal insists that it must be a misunderstanding . Even when she starts crying and claiming Marinette is bullying her, the teachers do nothing. It isn't until Chloe confronts her that she finds out Marinette is the top student in the school and a certified genius. Chloe smirks, informing her that if the school even attempted to claim she was cheating they'd not only come under fire, but they'd lose their funding from having her there.

Lila decides to just make the class hate Marinette while still trying to get Adrien. She is unable to get a foothold even when she manages to get Gabriel's attention claiming  Adrien is hanging with terrible people. However the moment she mentions Marinette's name she is shut out. Gabriel telling her that Marinette has a higher standing than the daughter of an ambassador any day.

Lila's anger gets her akumatized into Volpina, she goes after Marinette determined to hurt the girl in some way. She finds her at the skate park watching Alix practice. She creates an illusion of Adrien and has the illusion walk up to Marinette. The illusion begins to tear into Marinette claiming that she is a terrible person, and doesn't deserve anything that she has, before telling her that they were no longer friends. She gets angrier when Marinette asks the illusion what her nickname for him was and smirks when the illusion doesn't answer. Volpina gets so angry she just attacks Marinette swinging at her with her flute getting angrier when Marinette blocks each hit with her arms barely flinching until Chat Noir tackles Volpina away from her. Marinette is quick to run away, Alix following her. Soon after Ladybug joins them in the fight, once they defeat Volpina. Ladybug turns to find Lila crying claiming that she didn't want to hurt Marinette but the girl had been bullying her. 

Chat Noir growls but Ladybug quickly stops him from doing anything. 

'I know you're lying Lila. I suggest you stop lying, and have that video removed claiming to be my best friends. The only friend I have while in this mask is Chat Noir. You are putting yourself in danger by lying.'

Lila however just stops crying and galres at the heros huffing and storming away.

The next day everyone is talking about Lila taking another trip to Achu to visit Prince Ali. They get annoyed when Marinette asks Rose if she is going to email the Prince asking about her.

Eventually things return to slight normalcy and they only have to listen to Lila's lies when she video chats the class.

A few weeks after she has left Adrien finds the Miraculous grimoire, he immediately brings it to Marinette and shows her. Once Tikki sees it she insists that they bring it to the Guardian so she and Adrien set off together finally meeting Fu. Half way through their conversation Adrien is called back home by Gabriel. Gabriel demands the book back and is deeply upset when Adrien says he lost it. Gabriel dismisses him and he destroys his room before akumatizing himself.

Meanwhile Marinette is tearing into Fu for giving them the Miraculous without any proper training. Soon after she gets a message from Adrien saying that Gabriel had been akumatized. She quickly transforms meeting up with Chat Noir on the way once they defeat The Collector they return to Fu and take pictures of the book. Marinette then heads to the Agreste Mansion with the book in hand. When Gabriel comes to the door she quickly introduces herself before handing the book over. 

"Adrien was really excited to share the book with me today while we had lunch at my home. However he forgot it in my room, sorry it took me so long to get the book here Mr. Agreste!"

Gabriel takes the book and thanks Marinette before questioning her and Adrien's relationship. Marinette laughs softly telling him that Adrien is like a brother to her. He then asks why brother and not best friend. Marinette grabs the ring around her necklace playing with it gently. 

"Because my best friend is my boyfriend and my betrothed."

Gabriel then issues an invite for her to come over more, saying that she is clearly a good influence on Adrien. Marinette thanks him before saying goodbye and leaving.

That night they all meet in their wearhouse to talk about it. Even though Adrien is distressed he agrees that his father is still their biggest suspect.

Marinette pulls Oracle and Batgirl into a video call as they all sort through Gabriel's dealing since Emilie's disappearance. They determine that he wants Tikki and Plagg for a wish relating to Emilie. Marinette pulls Adrien aside and they have a heart to heart.

"Do I want my mom back? Yes, more than anything, but she-My mom would never want this. She'd be so incredibly disappointed in my father for terrorizing the city she loves. She'd be disappointed in me for thinking for even a second to help my dad."

Oracle looks into every dealing Gabriel has had while Batgirl focuses heavily on going through camera footage.

Oracle points out a few months before Hawkmoth started Gabriel paid the city to remove the camera from around his mansion. Batgirl shows them footage of the house before he paid the city off pointing out the window designed like a butterfly. Showing that the small middle section is designed to open. Oracle finds something big from a few months before Emilie disappeared. She found that Gabriel hired multiple workers to come and build an underground garden, paying them off so that they would never mention it. She also found he bought a pod specially designed for those in coma to keep them from dying.

They all start planning on how to take Gabriel down. The only reason they haven't acted is for fear of his company. They don't want it to fall and have millions lose their jobs. They also want more evidence to take to the police. Oracle hires someone to install a camera facing the window in order to get confirmation.

Adrien meets Kagami much the same way except Marinette confirms that she did win. She however gets akumatized when her mother brushes off her success. After being defeated, Adrien extends his friendship to her, and they slowly grow closer. Soon after Marinette meets Luka when he drops something off for Juleka. He helps her pick up the books she dropped and they are quick friends. Marinette can immediately tell that he is a meta and Luka is surprised but tells her that he can hear people's soul songs.

A few weeks later Gorilla is akumatized after Gabriel thinks he is Chat Noir. Ladybug is easily able to save Adrien getting him to safety before defeating Gorizilla she tells Hawkmoth to watch out because they are on to him.

After this Luka invites Marinette to his family's house boat during the music festival, when his mom gets akumatized Luka is quick to help Mari escape. Afterwards he tells her that he knows she was Ladybug and Adrien Chat Noir. Marinette brings him into their fold and when she does Adrien asks to bring Kagami.

Before the school year comes to the end the class meets Clara Nightingale. Clara becomes fast friends with Marinette and tries to get her to be Ladybug in her video. However Chloe has the shoot shut down and she is akumatized into Frightningale. After the fight Marinette encourages her to have everyone in the video wearing masks showing that they are all heros in their own way. Clara agrees and Marinette is very thankful that neither of her masks in her hero persona a black.

Adrien admits to Marinette that he has a slight crush on Kagami so Marinette enlists the help of Luka and together they go ice skating. While Kagami and Adrien are skating Luka and Marinette are calmly talking about the pair. Mari asks about their songs and Luka is silent for a second before smiling softly and telling her that their songs are beautiful together.

Two weeks before the end of the school year Lila returns to school. Once again the class is listening to everything she has to say.

She quickly convinces the class to exclude the four including Chloe from class plans over the summer. She is dumbfounded when the four don't care. Once the school year is over the class only sees the four in passing and every time there is an unknown boy with them.

Lila gets pissed when Gabriel stops having her do photoshoots with Adrien and gets even more pissed when Adrien announces on Twitter that he is dating Kagami.

Halfway through summer the classes are talking excitedly about Fashion week in Paris, excited to see Adrien and Lila modeling. They are surprised when they arrive and Marinette is sitting in the front row with Nathaniel, Alix and four unknown boys and three girls. One of them in a wheelchair. When Audrey arrives she is greatly upset at the seating until Marinette and Cass politely offer her and Chloe their seats. Audrey calms down but is still upset at the slight Gabriel has given her. She accepts the seats and both girls get up, Marinette moves and sits on Damian's lap leaning back against him as he wraps his arms around her waist. Cass goes to sit behind Jason but he gets up giving her his seat before sitting behind her. Marinette greets Chloe politely before introducing her group.

"You already know our classmates Chloe but this is my boyfriend Damian and his brothers and sisters. Richard, Jason, Cass, Tim, and Stephanie."

Chloe is polite in return introducing her mother, Marinette nods politely

"Pleasure to meet you Mrs. Bourgeois, I am Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Some of my designs are being shown today along with Mr.Agreste's"

Audrey sniffs slightly starring Marinette down before offering a curt greeting. She then attempts to call Gabriel only for her call to go straight to voicemail. She grows more and more angry as she sits in the stands. Half way through the show she gets up and storms out angry that a girl that is unknown got a front seat but not her. When she is akumatized she goes after Marinette, she is unable to fire her because Damian jumps in the way getting turned to gold instead. Marinette is quickly pulled away by Tim who gets her to a safe place encouraging her to transform. Adrien joins them a few minutes later. After they transform Chat Noir agrees to distract Style Queen while Ladybug gets four Miraculouses

When the fives get back they discover that Chat Noir had to change back, and after he de-transformed Style Queen found him and fired him as a way to get back at Gabriel. They launch into action fighting her. Viperion and Bunnyx sit on the back burner watching the fight. Viperion periodically shifting back using second chance and Bunnyx jumping in to grab one of the others when he tells her. Once she is taken down Gabriel comes and apologizes to Audrey telling her he fired the person that gave her a second row seat. Gabriel then apologizes to Marinette and Damian for this mistake causing her to be attacked. Adrien hurries over quickly hugging the couple telling him that he is happy they're both safe now. Audrey takes note of his clothes and comments that it's far from Gabriel's usual designs.

"Because it's not this outfit that was designed by MDC herself. He and I did a collaboration. She designed all the male outfits and I the female."

Audrey immediately jumps on him, admitting to knowing MDC.

"You know MDC? You know the Wayne family, along with Jagged Stone, and Clara Nightingale's personal designer?"

Gabriel nods gesturing to Marinette who Adrien was still hugging. Tell Audrey that MDC had been standing right next to them along with the Wayne's. Audrey is silent when she realizes she didn't recognize the Wayne family while she was angry. She immediately extends the offer for Marinette to come to New York with her to grow her exceptional talent. She brushes Chloe off when her daughter is upset over her mother never taking her. Marinette however refuses to go before telling Audrey off for telling her own daughter she is not exceptional.

"She may be mean and a bit of a bully but Chloe is exceptional in her own way. I will never work with someone who treats their own family like dirt. Ya know I always thought she was just a mean person, but now that I see who her mother is, I can tell you raised her to act exactly like you."

Marinette then walks away with her friends and the Wayne family following her along with Adrien. The next day Chloe shows up at the bakery and apologizes then thanks Marinette. Tell her that Audrey actually took what she said to heart and decided to stay in Paris to get to know her daughter.This starts a shaky friendship between the two

"Also why haven't you told anyone you're dating a Wayne??."

"Alya is obsessed with famous people, how do you think she'd react to finding out I'm famous in America but also betrothed to the youngest Wayne."

"You have a point but wasn't she your best friend?"

"No she was a friend but honestly she never really listened to me. I mean she thought I was in love with Adrien."

For the rest of the summer Chloe joins the group of friends and even though she is still mean they can tell she does care for them. Much like how Damian acts to the others except Marinette. Damian and Chloe actually enjoy getting into little arguments over different things.

They celebrate their birthdays at Le Grand Pairs at Chloe's place Gabriel even allows Adrien to attend, while Marinette's parents cater the party, they turn 15.

When summer ends the entire group is at the airport saying goodbye to Damian.

The school years start rather calmly with random akumas popping up but none particularly dangerous. It isn't until halfway through the year when Heroes Day comes around and Hawkmoth akumatizes Lila allowing her to create the illusion of an akumatized Ladybug killing Chat Noir.

The fight gets so bad that Fu joins in desperation to help. However at the end of the fight he realizes that his time has been shortened. He proceeds to name Marinette and Adrien Guardians, telling them that he'll shortly lose his memories and a few weeks later die. He tells him that they will not lose theirs unless they recreate the potion he was given.

A few weeks later Marinette is visited by a lawyer, Fu leaves her everything in his will. Marinette has enough money to last a lifetime.

Hawkmoth's akumas are steadily getting stronger and it seems like Lila is getting akumatized every other month. The Miraculous Team begins to think that Lila is working for Hawkmoth, and after hacking her phone Oracle confirms that she has been. 

Before the end of the year Lila convinces the class to kick Marinette as their class president. Marinette steps down without a care however in front of the class she tears apart her notebook that had everything in it for the class's end of the year trip. Telling them to have fun planning another trip, before turning to her friends. 

"Chloe, Alix, Nathaniel, Adrien, you're coming to Gotham with me this year. We'll let Kagami and Luka know when they come over today. You're gonna love it Wayne Manor is beautiful, and we all get to stay there for the whole summer!"

Lila scuffs saying that her Damiboo would never let a bully like her into her house. She then tells the class that she was asked to keep it a secret for a while but her and Damian had been dating for three months.

They are startled when they hear Dick laughing from the doorway.

"My little brother is dating you, good one, especially since my brother has been betrothed since he was born."

Alya immediately jumps to Lila's defense demanding to know who Dick is. Causing him to roll his eyes before turning to Marinette. Telling her that he was taking them to the airport and that they'd be taking the jet to Gotham one their last day. Before he leaves Alya demands to know who he is.

"Richard Grayson-Wayne, now I'd appreciate it if you stopped telling lies about my family. Damian would never go out with you, he has been dating Marinette for almost two years now. Oh and Mari, I'll let dad know your six friends will be coming with us."

The class is stuned and Lila immediately starts crying, telling them that Damian must have lied to her. However Max, Juleka, Rose, Ivan, and Mylene no longer believe her.

When the class ends the group of friends leaving ignoring everyone excitedly talking about their trip.

Once back at Marinette's they all relax talking about what they are going to do while there. The group is upset that Marinette and Batman won't let them patrol Gotham but they don't put up much fuss. Marinette tells them they'll use Kaalki to get back and forth for fights and that while there they'll be finalizing plans to take out Gabriel with the help of Batman.

Double Dates

“But c’mon Marinette, I don’t understand why you and Adrien don’t want to go on a double date with us!”

Alya fell dramatically over her friend’s lap, flashing her the biggest puppy dogs imaginable.

“And for the third time this week Alya, Adrien and I are not dating!” Marinette paused her stitching to pat her friend’s forehead in comfort.

For whatever reason imaginable, Alya and the other’s got this idea in their head that because Marinette finally stopped stuttering all over Adrien, it obviously meant she was dating him. It didn’t help that they were spending an excessive amount of time together as well. But really, she could explain if they just gave her the chance.

“You guys can stop hiding it! Is it because of his dad? If that’s the reason, we promise to keep a secret and won’t post anything, Reporter’s honor.”

Alya crossed her heart, her eyes only seeming to get bigger as a cheeky smirk pulled at her lips. Marinette released the sigh she was holding back. No, even if she did explain, she’s almost positive that her friends wouldn’t be able to let go of the ideals they held so close to over the years.

“Sorry to disappoint you babe, but we will never be getting together and that’s that.” . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

“Can you believe her Nino? Why would she want to hide her relationship from her best friend? This is getting so frustrating.”

Nino rubbed small circles into his girlfriend’s back as they walked down the avenue.

“I don’t know, my boy Adrien won’t admit it either. I get it that his father is tough, but even he would want his son to be happy, right?”

The two shared a look. That had to be it. Gabriel was just that horrible of a parent that he could care less about his son’s happiness if it meant the business would continue. As they turned the corner, a small giggle caught their attention. Alya’s eyes widened as she took in the sight in front of her.

Her best friend in an absolutely stunning dress, sitting outside one of Paris’ top restaurants, with a man that wasn’t Adrien.

“Maybe that’s a potential client?” Nino tried to offer, but Alya couldn’t be reached.

“I can’t believe she would cheat on Adrien! She’s so against liars and look at her, she’s the biggest hypocrite of them all!”

“Babe, he really could be a client, after all, look, they’re sitting at a table for four. It’s probably just small talk before Adrien gets there.”

Another giggle filled the air as Marinette reached over, allowing him to place a chaste kiss on her knuckles.

“This is utter bullshit. C’mon Nino, we’re facing this head-on.”

Nino tried to stutter out a defense, but all too quickly, he found himself being dragged toward the table.

“Excuse me, but I noticed that these seats are open, do you mind?”

Marinette’s face turned a deadly shade of pale as she waved her hands to the open chairs, inviting them to sit. Nino awkwardly slid into the chair beside the dark-haired man, avoiding eye contact at all cost.

“So Marinette, where is your boyfriend this evening?”

Alya’s expression was dark as she watched her friend’s mouth gape like a fish out of water. Out of everything she could imagine, Marinette cheating on Adrien was never a thought that passed her mind.  

“He’s right here, why do you ask?”

Nino slowly turned to glance at the man beside him. His cool composure didn’t match the fire in his eyes. Nino was confident that if he wanted to, he could shoot lasers from them if he concentrated hard enough.

“Yeah right pretty boy, you would think so huh? So are you the side guy or is Adrien? How long has Marinette been deceiving you? Or do you know that she’s taken? That’s really messed up.”

Nino tried to shake his head, tell Alya to stop without speaking, but she refused to even glance at him.

“I wasn’t aware that Agreste was even interested in my Hobi. I’ll be sure to correct that later.”

“Alya, please leave this alone.” Marinette’s pleading voice almost broke Nino’s heart. There had to be a good reason for all of this, he firmly believed it.

“Why? So you can continue going behind Adrien’s back? He’s too good for this Marinette.”

“I’m too good for what?”

Nino turned his head to the head of the table where Adrien stood, his arm thrown over a man he had never met. It almost looked like…

“Alya, it’s time for us to leave.”

His girlfriend’s attention snapped to him. Normally, he would be terrified of that look on her face, but now wasn’t the time to stand down. At the moment, he was more scared of the man beside him.

“Nino-”

“No, Alya, let’s go. After all, we’re interrupting their double date.”

A hand landed on his shoulder pulling him back into his seat with shocking strength.

“It looks like someone finally has a handle on the situation. Please, Nino was it?” Nino gulped as he nodded, unsure how the man knew his name. “Allow me to explain to your girlfriend here.”

“Explain what exactly?”

The man’s deadly eyes narrowed in on Alya before something even scarier happened, he smiled. Nino wasn’t sure if he should try to run, leave Alya to fend for herself, or stay and watch. Either way, he knew one thing. This was not something he was getting between.

“Alya Cesaire, a reporter for the Ladyblog. You just received an internship for the Daily Planet in their new department world affairs. Is all this correct?”

Alya nodded, her head cocked in curiosity.

“If you are such a grand reporter, as I assume you must be considering Mrs. Lane-Kent is very selective, then surely you must have picked up on the signs that your friend was seeing someone. The only thing you gravely misjudged was who. My friend Jon introduced the idea of a double date a few months ago, one that I was reluctant to at first.”

Adrien and Jon snickered as Marinette’s face flushed.

“However, when I arrived, I am not ashamed to say that I instantly found this woman striking. I have been courting your friend here since March, the majority of our outings with these two idiots.”

Two ‘hey’s’ echoed simultaneously causing Nino’s spinning head to fly off. Everything made so much more sense. Adrien and Marinette sneaking around together, reluctant to admit that they were dating. Well, they were dating, just not each other.

“But this doesn’t make any sense! Why would you hide the fact that you have a boyfriend, Marinette? I thought we were besties?”

“Because Alya, my boyfriend has a life of his own, one that he rarely escapes from unless he is meeting me here in secret. I’m sorry, but you have to understand. Not everyone has the freedom to express their private life without a backlash.”

Marinette reached over the table to intertwine her fingers with the man, both mirroring the same lovesick smile on their faces.

“Now if you’ll excuse us, we have a double date to finish as I’m sure you and Nino have plans as well.”

Nino stood immediately, muttering apologies for both he and Alya as he drug her from the restaurant.

“But, Nino! We can’t leave! I have so many questions! Who is that man?”

Nino risked a glance back as Adrien and Jon took the seats that they had just abandoned. He was someone powerful, famous too, he was sure of it.

“It doesn’t matter Alya. When the time comes, Marinette and Adrien will come to us. Let’s not push the matter, after all, as long as they're happy right?”

Alya looked ready to argue, but instead, she sighed in defeat, speeding up her pace to match Nino’s.

“I suppose so. At least she’s not cheating on Adrien?”

Nino released the nervous laughter he had bottled up since seeing the man with Marinette.

“Yes, at least she’s not cheating on Adrien.”

Context and Background: This is in the same timeline as ‘Beloved’. Lila is a good child here and kinda replaces Mar in canon (she’s Alya’s Bestie despite having transferred on their second to last year of lycee). Marcel and Alya are close friends, but aren’t best friends, so I’d like to think that since they aren’t that close, it’s easier for Alya to be more persistent with her ideas and plans. 

Wait...Lila replacing Mar in canon, so who is Mar in this timeline? Marcel is still similar to canon, beloved by all but replaces Adrien in the sense that the entire school and community knows him because of his tallness (and handsome features even though he’s oblivious to it).

“Just give her a chance, Marcel.” Alya pleaded, looking back at their classmate, her bestie. Thinking that Alya had caught her staring at Marcel, Lila looked away, a prominent blush on her face. Alya grinned. “She’s head-over-heels for-”

“I already told you.” Marcel huffed, looking at the weapon in front of her- the ray Joker had used in his latest attack on Gotham. “There’s already someone I like.” 

It was their last year at DuPont, the senior class settling on touring the US as their senior trip. Their last stop: Hall of Justice situated in Washington DC. 

Alya remembered when she had introduced Lila to Marcel. They had hit off pretty well, Marcel taking an interest in Lila when Alya had proposed the idea of Lila helping Marcel model for his brand. 

He was short a model and needed one asap. Who better than Lila? 

While Lila had no trouble having to wear makeup for the photo shoots, her two strands of hair and straight bangs already framed her face beautifully. Her olive complexion and green eyes made her stand out more than Marcel’s other models. (No offense Juleka.) And the bun? Made her even cuter!

Alya had planned on getting her two friends to become more than friends through Lila modeling for Marcel, but it never got farther than that. 

Marcel never picked up on Lila’s advances, her feelings, always remaining professional with the girl, much to Lila and Alya’s dismay. 

It’s been two years since the two have met and Alya wasn’t going to let her efforts go in vain. This trip was Alya’s chance (out of many) to try and get the two together...hopefully.

“Yeah, yeah. Imaginary boyfriend - Damian.” Alya sighed, noting that this was the umpteenth time Marcel had used that excuse. He’s been using it since a year ago. “Why are you so insistent that you’re seeing someone? Is it some kind of tactic? Do you really hate Lila that much?”

“He’s not imaginary.” Marcel sighed, now going to see the next weapon. “He’s an actual person, whether you want to believe it or not. And no, I would never stoop that low just to make someone leave me alone. Besides, it’s my love life. I should be able to decide on who to like, not someone who doesn’t know my heart.” 

At hearing her friend’s words, Alya frowned before storming off to join Lila and Nino. 

“Seriously. I can’t believe him sometimes.” Alya muttered, crossing her arms as she stood next to Nino. 

“Believe what?” Nino asked, wondering what was going on between his two friends. Despite the fact that the two were good friends, Nino sometimes couldn’t help but notice their differences. “Why’s Mar-“

“Because I asked him about his boyfriend.”

“He has someone?” Lila asks, Nino and Alga seeing her face drop from her earlier mood. “Marcel has someone…he likes?”

“What? No! Of course not!” Alya attempted to cheer up. “Marcel keeps saying that he’s seeing someone, but I’m pretty sure he’s just saying that because he’s too shy to admit his true feelings.” 

“Do you really think Marcel would do something like that?” Nino defended his childhood friend, completely knowing who Alya was talking about. “We both know he would never do-”

“He wouldn’t, but he’s so infuriating!” Alya wanted to scream, instead settling for pulling at her hair. “Like seriously! Would it hurt him to give Lila one glance? Because from the looks of it, it would!”

“What if he’s telling the truth? What if he is dating someone?” Nino asked, watching Alya’s face harden. “How do you think his boyfriend will feel when he finds out or sees his partner on a date with someone else? I know how I’d feel if I found out you went on a date with someone else: pissed.” 

Alya took a deep breath from her boyfriend’s words, looking over at Lila. 

Her bestie was on the verge of crying, her lips trembling.

“Okay, fine. Let’s say he really does have someone.” Alya continued the instigation. “Then why haven’t we met him? Why haven’t we gotten a single piece of evidence that this guy does indeed exist?”

“Maybe Marcel is doing it because of the person Damian might be.” Nino defended. “Maybe Damian doesn’t want their relationship to be-”

“What kind of person wouldn’t want-” Alya cut off, only to be cut off herself when she heard Marcel’s squeal echo throughout the building. 

The trio quickly went over to where Marcel’s squeal originated from, quickly hiding behind a statue when Alya saw the scene in front of them. 

There’s no way...

“I-Is that who I think it is?” Nino asked, hoping he wasn’t dreaming.

“That’s Clark Kent from the Daily Planet.” Alya whispered, wondering how Marcel found them. Although the bigger question was, how was Marcel conversing with them as if they’d known each other for a very long time?

And if they knew each other, why didn’t Marcel introduce him to her?

Weren’t they friends?

“But who’s that behind him?” Lila asked, pointing over to a large group behind them.

“Holy shit.” Nino cursed, knowing it was worth saying it this one time. “That’s, no. Those-”

“Wayne. They’re Wayne’s.” Alya finished, gawking at the sight of all the Waynes in one place.

There was the eldest child, Richard ‘Dick’ Grayson, talking with his other brothers: Timothy Jackson Drake and Jason Peter Todd. Right behind them was Stephanie with Cassandra, Duke -the recent addition to the family- at the end of the mob, his face glued to his phone. But at the front?

Leading the family was Bruce Wayne himself, smiling when he saw Marcel talking with Kent.

The trio watched as Marcel straightened up and quickly turned his head, a grin appearing on his face when he saw the Waynes, quickly jogging up to Bruce. Alya watched as the two conversed, watching as other members of the family quickly noticed him and circled around Marcel to talk to him. 

“Come on, we have to get closer.” Alya insisted, already pulling Lila with her.

“Alya, I don’t think we should-” Nino started.

“Are you with us or not?” Alya hissed, wanting to get closer to the group. She could barely hear them, not wanting to miss the possible explanation as to why Marcel knew them.

With a sigh, Nino looked at his girlfriend before turning around and leaving them, shocking her. 

‘Fine! Have it your way!’ Alya wanted to scream, but knew that would blow her cover.

With Lila entail, she got as close as she could, Alya signaling Lila to keep as quiet as she could.

“-class trip? You could’ve given us a heads up, Red!” Alya heard Grayson exclaim, watching as he ruffled Marcel’s hair.

“Hey! It took an hour to get it this neat!”

“See! He gets it!” Jason exclaimed, pulling out the hair tie from the mess of hair and promptly redid Marcel’s half bun with ease. “Guys with short hair will never understand.” Jason said, Marcel voicing a ‘Ditto’ while Tim and Dick glared at them while the girls simply cleared their throats. “Well, you guys at least understand why we have to get up an hour earlier to get ready for the day.”

“By the way, where’s Damian?” Alya heard Marcel ask, feeling Lila’s grasp in her hand tighten. Alya glanced at her before completely looking over to her friend.

Lila’s face was blank, but her eyes said it all. She didn’t even need to see the tear spooling in Lila’s eyes to see what she felt.

She was scared. 

“Demon spawn? Last time I checked on him, he was talking to Jon.”

“Jon’s here?!” Marcel exclaimed, looking over to Clark. “Uncle Clark! You didn’t tell me Jon was here!”

“I didn’t? Must have slipped my mind.” Clark said, whispering that last line.

“Did someone call for me?” Alya watched as this Jon came into view, watching as Marcel grinned. 

“Jon!” Marcel smiled, running to the boy and hugging him. “It’s been so long!”

“We literally saw each other over spring break!” Jon chirped, effortlessly prying himself from Marcel’s grasp. 

“But that was months ago!”

Alya watched as someone else made their way to the group, her eyes widening as she recognized their face. 

“You’ve got to be kidding me.” She whispered, replaying Nino’s words from earlier. 

“Maybe Marcel is doing it because of the person Damian might be. Maybe Damian doesn’t want their relationship to be-”

-known. For it to be a secret. 

Alya cursed herself. 

It all made sense now. 

The reason why Marcel couldn’t introduce Damian to them? He was a Wayne, people who loved to keep their life a secret.

“Jon, I already told you various times, but why must you...“ the youngest Wayne started, only for his words to trail when his eyes locked onto Marcel. 

Alya watched as Marcel slowly turned to look at the youngest Wayne, his mouth gaping a bit. 

“Damian.” He spoke, Alya watching as he took a single step forward. 

“Habibi.” Damian replied. “What-“

“Damian!” Marcel exclaimed, running to Damian, scooping him into and hug before taking a step back and cupping Damian’s face. “I’ve missed you so much.”

Alya watched as Damian’s face softened, his eyes filling with adoration. 

“As have I.” Damian replied, having tip-toed to kiss Marcel, using his hand to bring Marcel closer to him.

Alya watched as the two parted, the family grinning at the lovebird’s gesture.

“S-So he did...he did have someone he li-liked.” Lila whispered, her voice cracking. 

She hated this feeling. She hated the blurring of her vision and the pain in her chest. She hated the ever so growing lump in her throat. 

“I suggest you set your eyes on someone else.” Marcel told her as she measured her arm. “I don’t want you to get hurt because of me.”

Why didn’t she heed his advice? Maybe because she thought he was just being sweet? Maybe because she was in denial?

Doesn’t matter. Clearly, they weren’t meant to be...

Lila quickly left the scene, Alya debating on whether to follow her bestie or stay to listen. 

What kind of question was that?

Alya chased after her friend, missing the moment Marcel, Clark and the rest of the Waynes disappeared behind the door that only Justice League members were allowed to go through.

I think that this is done before, but.. anyway, supposed that Mari transferred to GA and met Damian in an unusual circumstance and then became a dynamic duo. Sunshine Princess and Ice King having the greatest banter ever, like they're rivals but they're total besties. Like in a cafeteria, or even in a library. Then, Mari's ex-class arrived, (ya know the exchange program srsly Idk how these things work.) and trashtalked Mari. And then Dami being cold af straight up savaged towards them.

“I brought cookies!” Marinette beamed as she walked into class. Her smile was tantalizing, as well as the delicious looking cookies she had brought in. She placed them down on the table as Jon walked past their class for his daily friendly wave to Marinette and Damian. She grinned and followed him outside to chat, leaving the cookies unguarded.

One of the jocks in their class reached his hand out to grab one only to have it slapped away by Marinette’s other half. The boy who could only be described as the Ice Prince.

“You’re not getting any, I heard what you and your friends said about Marinette’s figure behind her back.” Damian whispered to the boy menacingly, causing the hand to draw back in fear. The jock gulped, then let out a smirk,

“Sorry, didn’t realize she was your girlfriend.”

“She’s n-“

“Damian!” Marinette exclaimed as she bounced over towards the so-called ‘Ice Prince,’ “Hope you studied for the test today! ‘Cause I plan to ace it, and get a better grade than you while I’m at it!”

Damian smiled smugly at her sweet, teasing banter. “I don’t need to study to assure that I’ll beat you, Marinette.”

“Bring it on Damian.” Marinette said, flipping her ponytail (she had exchanged her pigtails for one ponytail once she moved to America, after feeling she needed a change) and flouncing back to her seat.

Damian glared at the jock one last time before picking up the container of cookies and going to sit with Marinette in the back.

“Mrs. Smith is late today.” Damian said plainly.

“Probably got held up. You know how these halls are.”

“Barbaric.” Damian huffed under his breath.

Marinette giggled, “I was gonna say crowded.”

“I don’t see a difference.” He said, narrowing his green eyes and fixing them on the door.

Marinette rolled her eyes, “‘Course you don’t.” She hummed for a minute, moving her eyes to where Damian’s were hyperfocused on, “I talked to Jon this morning.”

“When don’t you talk to Kent?”

“He was saying how he heard rumors that there was gonna be some big announcement today.”

“I wouldn’t take it to heart.” Damian said, “Rumors are just that.”

Marinette nodded and opened her mouth to respond, but was cut off by their frazzled teacher walking into the room.

“Hello class, as you may or may not of heard, there’s a little bit of news today!” The teacher wore a false grin as she sat down at her desk, “Next week, our class will be hosting a couple students in an exchange class from Paris. A school called DuPont.”

Marinette’s smile faded away, it couldn’t be. Marinette forced a grin and pulled out her cell phone discreetly.

She’d kept in touch with a couple of her friends from her old class, specifically Alya, Nino and Adrien er...Chat. Though ever since they revealed their identities to each other after Hawkmoth’s defeat her crush on Adrien had disappeared almost completely and they settled for being best friends instead (they both decided they would not share that title change they decided on to Alya, or surely Adrien would endure her wrath for stealing her best friend).

Marinette: Hey Als, I heard something about DuPont coming to my school for a bit, do you know anything about that?

Alya: yeah girl. Just found out today. Apparently Lila, Chloé and Bustier pulled some strings to have our class spend a week in America on an exchange program, but my guess is they didn’t realize it was your school.

Alya: we’re gonna be split up into groups and each one’ll go to a different class. Praying I get you and not the brat or Lie-la

Marinette: Me too, hopefully Lady Luck will be on my side.

Damian had noticed throughout the course of the week that Marinette was acting rather oddly. He didn’t think it was his place to ask, so he didn’t. He hadn’t realized what was making her act in such a strange manner until the following Monday came around and four foreign exchange students ended up in their class. Students that Marinette definitely knew.

The first of them was a blonde girl with blue eyes, she held herself higher than everyone else. ‘Superiority complex,’ Damian catalogued as he scanned her smug demeanor.

The next was a redheaded girl in a sweater and skirt who was doting over the blonde. ‘Pushover.’ Damian thought, watching her wait on Superiority Complex hand and foot.

The third student was a dark-skinned boy with headphones around his neck and an obnoxious red cap on his head. ‘He’ll probably be real chatty.’ Damian thought to himself as his eyes wandered to the last girl.

She was Italian and had a large smirk on her face that screamed, ‘don’t trust me.’ She waved to Marinette sweetly with hidden venom.

Damian glanced over to his seat partner who was looking more and more upset by the minute.

“You know them.” It wasn’t a question, it was a statement.

“I do.” Marinette gulped.

“Which ones don’t you like?”

Marinette looked at him with a puzzled expression, “Uh...the blonde girl and the brunette girl. They...were students in my old school and they did not treat me well.”

Damian furrowed his brows. He wasn’t sure what to make of that quite yet.

“Class, meet our new exchange students. Please introduce yourselves!”

“Obviously I’m Chloé Bougeious. My daddy is the mayor of Paris, he organized this trip by the way.” She filed her nails with an arrogant smirk, clearly not noticing Marinette’s prescence yet. “This is Sabrina, she’s my best friend. Don’t worry about her.”

The headphones boy merely shook his head in disgust, “Hey dudes and dudettes, I’m Nino Lahiffe.”

“I’m Lila Rossi, and I’ve actually been here before.” She said, “I was here for a week before I went to Achu. Before I left Robin and Superboy saved me from one of your villains.”

The class started to buzz at this information.

Damian gritted his teeth, he never saved her. He would’ve remembered it.

“Oh!” The brown haired liar exclaimed, “Marinette! Hi!”

Marinette shrunk in her seat.

“You two know each other?” The teacher asked.

“Dupain-Chang?!” Chloé shrieked, looking up from her nail file.

Marinette slammed her face on the table. Damian frowned.

“Hey dude, how you been?”

“Good.” Marinette said meekly. Damian recognized that Nino was the only person she had a good reaction to.

Perhaps he was one of her old friends?

Lila regained attention of the room, “Umm excuse me Ms...”

“Mrs. Smith.” The teacher finished.

“Mrs. Smith.” Lila said sweetly, “I’m afraid I won’t be able to stay in your class.”

“Oh, why not?”

“Well Ma’am, Marinette hates me. When she went to our school she used to...” Lila started to ‘tear up,’ “She used to bully me.”

Marinette stopped herself from rolling her eyes.

Damian scoffed, a little too loudly.

All eyes shot to him.

“Come on, at least come up with a believable lie Miss Rossi.”

Marinette looked up from her desk to stare at Damian in awe.

“I think we all know Marinette wouldn’t bully anyone. She’s simply not capable.” Damian said coolly.

Murmurs of agreement came from the class.

“You mean?” Lila’s lip trembled, “You don’t believe me?”

“Not for a second.”

“But why? What did I ever do to you?” She asked, playing the victim.

“Nothing yet, but it’s obvious you did something to Marinette. She normally only smiles, it’s sometimes annoying how much she smiles, but as soon as you walked in the room she looked like she was going to bolt.”

Lila huffed, and flipped her hair.

“I don’t appreciate people hurting my frien—“ Damian cut himself off. He glanced back at Marinette, who’s bluebell eyes stared up at him in wonder, “My friends...”

Damian cleared his throat, “So don’t try to pull anything here.”

Lila blubbered but deep down she knew that she couldn’t keep playing the sweet bullied girl.

This week was going to end in her own checkmate.

And everyone knew it.

Previous: “Lila must have been akumatized again,” Nino said getting up and dragging Jon out of the store.“Let’s fix this,” Adrien said to Alya and Chloe who rolled their eyes.“Don’t think we didn’t see the way you were staring Jon up and down, it wasn’t cute,” Alya said as Trixx came out of her jacket.“Seriously Adriekins, do you even know what you want?” Chloe asked putting her comb in her hair.“Women,” Adrien sighed. “Plagg claws out!”

Chapter 4: Turtles and Dinner Dates

Pollinator and Hoodwink glared at Chat as they jumped through the city chasing after the akumatized Lila.

Jon watched in bewilderment  as Nino’s hand tightened on his wrist dragging him through back alleyways in the opposite direction. “Nino, where are we going? Alya, Chloe, and Adrien are still back at the cafe,” Jon asked pulling back against Nino’s grip.

“It’s better to split up during attacks trust me,” Nino said trying to come up with an excuse praying that Jon didn’t see through it.

Alya looked at the earrings in her hands sighing, she would either have to put them in now or come back later and deal with the butterfly and akumatized object in order to use the lucky charm. She could always use a mirage. 

“I am Myth Weaver and I make lies become reality! Adrien Agreste will love me,” Weaver said waving a wand in the air and Chat’s eyes widened before extending his staff out to her stopping the motion.

“Don’t let her cast any more spells,” Chat said and the girls rolled their eyes.

“Yeah, we’ll try,” Hoodwink said putting in the earrings not unifying yet but casting a perfectly planned mirage.

Marinette looked at Jon’s phone sighing as a text from Jason showed up.

From Jason Todd What hotel are you staying at? B wants to have you over for dinner He didn’t think that I could make friends How rude is that?

Marinette rolled her eyes before typing back.

To Jason Todd Who’s B? And I’m staying at Wayne Suites Hotel.

Marinette tucked the phone back into her purse before looking up to see Audrey walking toward her arms open before pulling her into a hug. “Marinette darling, let me show you the ropes of business ownership. I know that if there is one designer out there who can surpass Gabriel and his dreadful white collection it’s you. Don’t tell anyone but I’m getting a bit too old for the drama and I must go back and visit my daughter at some point. This is our Jersey studio make yourself at home,” Audrey said before running over to someone and yelling at them.

“I’ll do my best,” Marinette mumbled out before reaching for the phone in her purse.

From Jason Todd B is complicated but he’s Damian’s dad and Damian is Jon’s boyfriend, remember? One would think you’d want to meet the guy you texted right? Get to know him a bit

Marinette snorted, it was like Jason was trying to set them up or something, she exited the app before thinking. This was Jon’s boyfriend and Jon was nice, she wouldn’t want him to… no wait that wouldn’t be so bad. If Jon texted Adrien as her and she texted Damian as him then maybe they could fix any problems in their relationships, or at least her problems. She reopened the app typing aggressively.

To Jason Todd Be there at five.

“Oh yes I am,” Marinette said to herself as Audrey came back and started guiding her through the building.

Jon’s eyes widened as a huge rock came flying at him. Sure Jon was used to danger, in fact he chased is for fun but he really wasn’t expecting an akuma on his first day in Paris. He actually wasn’t expecting any of this to be honest.

“No!” Nino yelled running back toward him. “Wayzz, shell on!” Nino called out being enveloped in green and taking a shell off his back before jumping in front of Jon blocking the rock which shattered to millions of pieces on impact. Nino breathed out a sigh of relief keeled over before turning back to Jon who’s eyes were bulging out of his face. 

“Oh my Rao, what are you Sailor Moon or some shit?” Jon asked gesturing to Nino freaking out.

“You can’t tell anyone, promise me you won’t tell anyone,” Nino said grabbing Jon’s shoulders shaking him viciously.

“Yeah, as long as you answer a couple of questions for me,” Jon said and Nino nodded. “Who are you? When and where are you meeting Superman?” Jon asked and Nino looked confused.

“They call me Protector and we’re meeting Superman in a day at midnight on the Eiffel Tower. How did you know we were meeting with Superman?” Protector asked.

“I’m a reporter’s son and I lived in Metropolis, it’s how I was raised, to follow Superman wherever he goes and get every bit of information out of the situation. I just wanted to get some pictures for my parents,” Jon said waving Protector’s question off easily. Suddenly ladybugs were flying around everywhere and they fixed the rock.

“Ladybug fixed everything, we should go meet back up with the others,” Nino said back in his regular clothes. Something seemed off, the others were so sure that Nino could keep him safe, Adrien’s name in Marinette’s phone is chaton, there’s four friends who all look somewhat similar to the heroes. Jon smirked to himself, he found the heroes of Paris and now he would be able to see Paris’ situation from a whole new angle. 

Marinette stood outside her hotel in a black dress with pink flowers crawling along the hem, hair pulled into a half ponytail, pink high heels, and a white purse with a trick pocket phone tucked in carefully along with the mouse miraculous. A fancy car pulled up in front of her and the window was lowered and Jason called out to her.

Marinette was terrified, she had figured out earlier that she would be dining with the batfamily from photos on Jon’s phone and Damian being Robin and Jon being Superboy. She also knew that she was in a car with a murderer but if anything bad happened she always had her training and Mullo up her sleeve, she would be able to shock him enough to get out of any bad situation. Jason did seem harmless enough though and she had read up on the news and it seemed that Red Hood had turned over a new leaf.

“We’re here,” Jason said rousing her from her thoughts as he opened his door walking around the car to open hers helping her out. She looked up and her eyes widened at the house, no manor, in front of her.

“You live here?” Marinette asked. The place was bigger than Gabriel’s.

“Yup, now come on we have dinner to get to,” Jason said smiling walking up the front steps and Marinette quickly followed.

Damian was not thrilled about the family dinner that was called this morning. Jason seemed insistent that the whole family meet his new friend. He just wanted the whole thing to be over so he could talk to Jon, hopefully his beloved would be up by then. He had to fight the Joker the previous night and couldn’t text him back but he didn’t want Jon to be worried or anything, he hoped the younger wasn’t mad at him.

Damian adjusted his shirt thinking, Jason had made a friend, a friend who he thought was worth the family dinner treatment. She couldn’t be his girlfriend, Jason never said he broke up with Roy so who was this girl? Damian shook his head before walking down the stairs and saw Jason and his friend, she was too good for Jason and Jason was in no way worth her time.

Marinette stared at the boy before her, this was Damian? She felt guilt crawl through her chest. He’s in a relationship, he’s in a relationship, he’s in a… holy shit he’s hotter in person. Marinette couldn’t help but admire him for a moment before remembering he was a hot asshole.

Coughing roused the three from their thoughts as Alfred stood in the doorway smiling. “Dinner is almost ready,” Alfred said and Jason nodded in the direction of the dining room letting Marinette go first. She walked into the room and eight pairs of eyes settled on her.

“Welcome to Wayne Manor,” Jason said and Marinette gulped grasping her purse, just one dinner.

Adrien walked into the school to see Damian staring up the the outdoor hallways. Adrien had had a very eventful morning stealing from his father’s safe. Marinette and Alya walked up as well and looked up so Adrien did too. The sight was horrifying, Jon was being willingly dragged to the library by a girl.

“Who is she?” Damian, Adrien, and Marinette all asked at the same time. Alya laughed at the protective behavior and ranted about a new girl named Lila who was friends with famous people and was saved by her new bestie Chat Noir.

This girl was not going to get away with this.

The three walked up to the library to spy and Plagg teased Adrien from his pocket about loosing his “boyfriend” on the way. They sat at a table across from Lila and Jon who were talking about Ladybug. Jon looked uninterested. Adrien pulled out his father’s book to use as cover and Tikki looked up and saw the cover and gasped. She needed to get that book.

Marinette tried texting Jon to get him away from the liar but wen his phone went off, Lila saw that he had a picture of Chat Noir as his screen saver.

“You know, Chat has personally saved me before. We’re practically attached at the hip,” Lila said and Jon’s eyes lit up.

Damian rolled his eyes and looked at Jon in disappointment. He had trained him better than to believe such simple lies.

“We can’t talk here though, we could go to the park,” Lila offered and Jon’s phone went off with a text from his Aunt Sabine telling him to come home after school to help her with something. If there was one thing that Jon had learned about his aunt, it’s to never make her mad. 

“Maybe later, my aunt needs me for something,” Jon said going to get up.

“Text me when we can meet!” Lila yelled as Jon left the table. Adrien grabbed his bag and ran after Jon leaving the book on the table. Damian had let too so Marinette grabbed the book and put it in her bag for Tikki.

Jon eventually did meet up with Lila in the park and Adrien was watching.

“Chat and I are very close because we have something in common, I’m the descendant of one of the rulers of Argo one of the lost cities of Krypton. My mother and I came here on a vacation and ended up loving it so we never went back and I became a superhero like my great grandmother, Volpina,” Lila said and Jon’s eyes started to narrow. “Just between you and me, Chat doesn’t even make the top ten on the heroes list.”

Adrien was pissed and if Superboy were there, he would be pissed too at this liar’s words about his home planet. Adrien transformed and jumped down in front of two.

“Oh, hey Lila, I saw your interview on the Ladyblog great job by the way. I especially liked the part where you said that we are besties and how you claimed to be a kryptonian which isn’t possible since the planet died over a dozen years ago. You know, people always tell me to never trust a girl with sausage hair and I never thought I would say this, but they were right!” Chat said hands on his hips. Lila got up and ran away crying. Jon looked over at Chat with hurt in his eyes.

“You didn’t have to be so hard on her, I get that she lied but I wanted to give her a chance to explain herself and to make it right,” Jon said crossing his arms and walking away from Chat who looked at the ground.

“I’m sorry,” Chat whispered.

Lila stomped angrily around the town. “My chances with Jon, ruined! I hate you Chat Noir!” Lila screamed before a butterfly flew into her necklace.

Lila created a meteor that fell from the sky that she was going to stop all on her own. Chat looked up from across town and ran meeting up with Robin halfway there.

Marinette yelled at a sulking Jon to rush to downtown and stop a meteor pointing to it but Jon didn’t see a meteor there was only a clear sky. They flew over to the Louvre and Jon still couldn’t see anything.

“What meteor!” Superboy yelled and the other three just looked at him like he was crazy. Ladybug smacked him across the face. A girl in a fox costume threw the meteor back up into the sky and made an announcement to all of Paris that Jon couldn’t see or hear. 

On a nearby rooftop the real Volpina showed up and put her hand on Superboy’s shoulder. “Did you get stage fright Superboy? I hope I didn’t show you up too much,” Volpina said putting a hand on Superboy’s shoulder. Robin reached for his sword and Ladybug looked at him and Robin reluctantly released the hilt. 

Robin grabbed Superboy when he saw that his eyes were starting to dull. Robin dialed Superman.

“Hey, you guys on a mission or something?” Clark asked walking through his office.

“Yes, Superboy here couldn’t see a giant meteor falling and when the girl that stopped it touched his shoulder, something weird happened,” Robin said feeling his partner’s head.

“Magic, there are few things that can hurt a kryptonian but magic is one of them, keep him as far away from this girl as possible,” Clark said, “I have to go to a meeting, good luck Damian.”

Apparently the others figured out the truth too when a fake Hawkmoth showed up. 

“She’s going to the bakery after Jon!” Chat yelled and Superboy flew back to his house and waited for her to show up.

Volpina jumped through the window and stood in front of Jon.

“Jon, I wanted to wait to show you but things got a little complicated,” Volpina said.

“Lila?” Jon asked backing up. Chat jumped through the window. Robin and Ladybug stood outside waiting for Chat to finish up.

“Alright liar, let’s wrap this up!” Chat said and Volpina stood in front of Jon holding his hands.

“He’s just jealous cause he’ll never have what we have, the love that we share,” Volpina said getting a wolfish grin on her face squeezing Jon’s hands tighter.

“Um, sorry but I don’t really count that as a date,” Jon said pulling his hands back and kicking Volpina in the chest back toward Chat. She created illusions of herself as Jon ran out of the room to change back into Superboy.

Volpina took “Jon” away to the Eiffel Tower and Chat jumped down next to Ladybug, Robin, and Superboy. 

“She’s taking Jon!” Chat yelled getting ready to jump after them.

“That’s not Jon!” the other three yelled at the same time.

“How are you so sure?” Chat asked before going to look back in Jon’s room again.

“I can’t see the illusions, there’s no way that’s Jon out there,” Superboy said and after Chat went through Jon’s room, he looked up.

“Really, cause Jon’s gone!” Chat said jumping off the the Eiffel Tower. 

Superboy stood there facepalming. “I’m not even going to try to get out of this one.”

Volpina stood at the top of the Eiffel Tower dangling Jon over the edge. She demanded that they give up their miraculous to save Jon. Chat went to reach for his ring but Ladybug threw her yoyo at the illusion.

She used her lucky charm to save the day and Chat walked over to Lila and offered her his hand.

“I’m sorry for what I said earlier and I’d like to get to know the real you if you would give me a chance,” Chat said.

“You’re right Chat, we’ll never be friends,” Lila said slapping his hand and walking away.

“Harsh,” Superboy said with a hand of Chat’s shoulder.

“Wait, where’s Jon!” Chat asked before going to jump of the edge of the Eiffel Tower to go to the bakery. 

Superboy flew after him arriving there around a minute before him. Jon jumped into the shower wetting himself to make it look like he had just taken a shower and grabbed some pants and a towel. Jon heard a knock on his window and ran over to open it shirtless with a towel wrapped around his face. 

Chat looked at Jon and almost fell off of the windowsill. Jon realized that he didn’t have on glasses and pulled the towel down further running over to grab his glasses. 

“Oh, hey Chat,” Jon said placing his glasses on and looking over at the blonde boy. Chat was still staring at Jon’s lean body and four pack.

“H-hi, I j-just came over to see h-how you were doing and clearly you’re fine so...”Chat said turning to leave but Jon grabbed his shoulder and turned him around.

“Thanks for saving me or at least protecting me. I’m happy to have someone looking out for me,” Jon said hugging Chat and smiling up at him blue eyes glowing through his black lashes. Chat’s vision almost goes black again.

“You’re sure this is the book Tikki?” Marinette asked.

“Yes, and I think it’s time or you to meet someone, the Great Guardian,” Tikki said clapping her hands together.

They arrived at a massage parlor. Damian just happened to be walking across the street with a swooning Jon.

“Your cousin is going somewhere strange Jon,” Damian said and Jon just ignored him and got back to talking about Chat.

 Marinette entered and saw an old man sitting there.

“Hello Ladybug.”

Worth Chapter Four

“Oh Lila! Do you think Damian Wayne will be on the tour today?!” Rose asked after Kay and Marinette left the lobby. Lila smiled, ‘back in business’.

“Oh my Damidear is so busy, he sadly doesn’t have enough time.” Rose deflated a little. Alya shook her head, “You deserve better girl.”

Lila put her hand on Alya’s shoulder, “Oh no Alya! Damian’s amazing, he even wants to marry me someday. He gave me a promise ring,” she lied as she flashed her pearly whites. “Unfortunately I had to leave it at home, too many unsavory characters like Marinette would try to take it from me.”

Alya shook her head, “I can’t believe that girl, especially what she just said to you. Could she have been more rude?”

Lila sighed and put an over dramatic hand to her forehead, “I just don’t know what I ever did to make her hate me!” Alya patted her shoulder sympathetically, “There, there girl. Trust me Mari-“

“Oh my god!!!” Exclaimed Kim as he pointed out the window. Lila frowned as more people gathered towards Kim. She started seething, they should be paying attention to her. She spun around crossing her arms to see Alya had crossed to the window too.

“No way!” The Ladyblogger shouted as she peered out the window. Lila sashayed over to see what all the fuss was about only to see Marinette of all people get in-

“A limousine!” Rose squealed.

‘How on Earth did Marinette get a limousine to pick her up?!’ Lina fumed. Lila lit up, an idea.

“I can’t believe Marinette would do that!” Lila cried, waiting for all eyes to be on her, “She knew the Waynes were sending me a special limousine! I was gonna bring all of you! It was supposed to be a surprise, but Marinette hi jacked it!” She started to wail as the class she had wrapped around her perfectly manicured finger ran to comfort her.

“First she insults you, now this!” Alya huffed as she started to walk outside, “I’m going to give her a piece of my mind. My bestie is totally out of line!” Lila started to panic, she tugged on Alya’s shirt bringing her back into her circle of followers.

“No wait! It’s too late now! Look they’re driving away!” Lila said, the class could’ve sworn she sounded almost relieved as the limousine drove past.

“That girl is gonna pay.” Alya depanned as she punched her fist into her hand. Lila smiled deviously, ‘You won’t know what hit you Marinette Dupain-Cheng.’

“God you’re such an attention whore!” Kay yelled teasingly at her once blonde girlfriend. Chloé tossed her hair and patted her girlfriend on the head, “You say that like it’s a bad thi-“

“See what I have to deal with Alfred!” Kay interjected as she giggled while Chloé started tickling her. “Hey! Hey! Cut that out!” Marinette sighed and smiled lightly as she shook her head at her dorky best friends.

“So Miss Marinette,” Alfred started keeping his eyes glued on the road while the couple stayed in their own little world, “How are you liking Gotham so far?”

Marinette smiled at Alfred’s politeness. “I haven’t seen much, but from what I’ve gotten to see, it’s beautiful. Absolutely breathtaking. I’m a bit of an amateur designer and this city is full of inspiration.” She heard Chloe scoff beside her, “Amateur?! Alfred, this girl has designed for the Gabriel Agreste, my...my mother even wanted to take her on.” Chloé remarked, wincing at the thought of her mother. Kay put a sympathetic hand on her girlfriend’s shoulder, “It’s ok.” She whispered softly into her ear. “Yeah! Mari is so good! She designed the costumes for the movie my mom is directing!” Kay exclaimed, beaming in pride at her closest friend.

Marinette blushed and smiled softly, “Thanks guys.” Chloé rilled her eyes and muttered, “Amateur, ridiculous utterly ridiculous.”

“As much as I’ve enjoyed meeting your friend and seeing Miss Bourgeois again,” Alfred started as he pulled in front of a tall sleek building, “It would appear, Miss Kay, that we have arrived.” Marinette’s eyes widened as she instinctively reached for her sketchbook, “this is Wayne Enterprises?” She asked bewildered.

“Indeed it is Miss Marinette. Oh! Master Damian and Master Dick will be waiting in the lobby.”

“TT.” Damian complained as he folded his arms.

“Hush baby bird!” Dick exclaimed, beaming, as he ruffled Damian’s hair causing the boy to glare at him. “The French class should be here soon and I’m sure they don’t want a grumpy sourpus on their tour.”

“I’m not grumpy.” Damian brooded. Dick let out a chuckle, “Sure thing baby bird.” Damian scowled. “Oh lighten up! Besides, your cousin is gonna be here!”

“Khan is not my cousin.” Dick rolled his eyes, “Friend, whatever, same difference.”

“What gave you the impression that Khan of all people was my friend?” Damian asked as he faced his brother with an icy glare. “Really baby bird?” Dick laughed, “She's the only one you hang out with aside from the Teen- your team and Jon.” Dick said putting an arm around his brother which Damian promptly shoved away, “Not to mention she’s not even a hero and you still chose to spend time with her.” Dick finished in a low whisper.

“Kaylené is tolerable.” Damian said, resigned. “Oh all of a sudden she’s Kaylené?” Dick teased.

“Shut up.” Damian stated, “and I’m surprised you’re so happy.” Dick furrowed his brows, “Why's that?”

“Because you forgot who’s practically attached to her hip. You know wherever Khan is, Bourgeois is not far behind.” Dick’s eyes bulged, “Oh sh-“

“By the way Chloé, why is Dick so afraid of you?” Kay asked casually as they began to walk towards the building. Chloé smirked, “Oh don’t worry your pretty little head about it.” Chloé patted Kay’s head as the curly brown haired girl cocked her head to the side. Kay was still wondering.

Marinette didn’t want to know.

“Ahhh. Wayne Enterprises!” Chloé exclaimed tossing her hair, “My home away from home.” Kay chuckled at her girlfriend’s flamboyance.

“Thought I was your home away from home.” She teased as they pushed open the glass doors into the building. Chloé scoffed tossing her hair once more, “Don't be ridiculous,” she said rolling her eyes, “You are my home.”

“Get a room.” Said a lanky tall boy with black hair and blue eyes. He had just walked up to a man who shared his same features but was more buff and a short boy who with copper skin and green eyes.

“Timikins!” Chloé exclaimed as she embraced the man. The buff man next to him shied away in fear while the smaller one rolled his eyes. Wearing a dazzling smile, the one looking the eldest of the three walked up and hugged Kay.

“How’s my favorite cousin doing?” The eldest man asked with a grin. Kay smiled cheekily as the man rubbed her hair playfully. “Great! Thanks for waking us up Dick!” The smallest boy, the one next to Dick, was scowling with his lips slightly upturned like he was hiding a smile.

“Mari meet Damian!” Kay said as she gestured to the green-eyed boy.

“Nice to meet you.” Marinette said extending her hand.

“TT.” Dick shot Damian a glare. “Nice to meet you too,” he grumbled. Dick smiled at her apologetically. Tim and Chloé separated and walked over to the group gathered in the Wayne Enterprises lobby.

“How long do we have until your intolerable classmates arrive?” Damian asked sharply. Dick winced and Tim let out a sigh. Kay frowned lightly.

“Don’t worry about them!” Chloé said waving off the subject that Kay was not comfortable with. Marinette got slightly worried when she saw the smirk on Chloé’s face. She got really worried when Chloé’s expression twisted into a mischievous grin. “Worry more about your new girlfriend over here.” Marinette face palmed as Chloé gestured to her. Kay smiled.

“My what?” Spat Damian drilling holes into Marinette’s skull.

“Kay ships you too.” Chloé said as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

“I don’t speak fandom.”

“Oh my god yes!” Dick squealed. “It’s perfect! My brother and MDC!” Marinette’s eyes widened, “You recognized me?!” She sputtered. Dick nodded his head wildly,

“Oh you’re practically family already!” He said bringing her in for a bone crushing hug. Stoneheart’s grip had nothing on Dick Grayson.

“TT.” Damian pouted. Dick pulled away from Marinette sheepishly.

“My otp will sail!” Kay exclaimed as she fist pumped Dick.

“I don’t have enough coffee to deal with this.” Tim said rubbing his temples and walking up the stairs he had come down from.

“This is gonna be awesome!” Kay practically shouted as she and Dick beamed at each other’s newly found common interest.

Of course right on cue, Lila Rossi entered the room sending all happiness crumbling down.

Important: This chapter will be following Damian and Jon, and Alya will have a short section as well. (This takes place the day before Marinette’s birthday).

Jon walked into the room he shared with Damian. Well technically, it was Damian’s room, but he and Jon pulled so many all nighters together that it was practically both of their rooms, most of Jon’s stuff was even there. Jon knew Damian well enough to know that he could trust him with a secret, after all, Damian shared so many with him. He walked in the room and flopped down on the bottom bunk bed. Damian was in a chair adjacent to him reading a book in Arabic. “Damian.” Jon said getting his attention. “Yes Kent?” Damian said pulling his face away from the book. “I like Marinette and I think I’m going to tell her!” Jon spat out quickly, it was the first time he said it out loud. “I think she knows.” Damian said, moving his attention back to the book. “What?!” Jon screamed, “how?!” Damian rolled his eyes, “haven’t you already established you’re friends? Friends tend to like each other.” Jon sighed at his friend. “I mean romantically. I like Mari romantically.” Damian looked a little taken aback. “Really, I can’t picture you together.” Jon retaliated by teasing, “Ooh do you like Marinette, little bird?” Damian rolled his eyes, “Mari is a friend.” Jon realized his previous statement could actually be true, “Damian, you never call people by nicknames. And you’ve never called someone your friend this quickly, even I had to wait a while. All joking aside, do you actually like her?” Jon was panicked, he didn’t want to compete with this best friend. “I don’t like her. If anything I opposite like her, her hair is way too pretty, her personality is far too positive and her eyes are too blue.” Damian huffed, placing his face in his book once again. “Oh my god.” Jon said, “OH MY GOD! You do, you like her! Even if you don’t know it yet I do! But what are we gonna do, I can’t compete against you! Oh why?!” Damian rolled his eyes, he was starting to sound like a certain pretty French girl. He blushed when he realized he called Marinette pretty, only in his thoughts, but still. “Relax Kent. Girlfriends are targets, especially in our line of work. I’ll never have one.” Jon rolled his eyes, “you do know that Marinette is a superhero too, right?!” Damian shrugged, “I don’t want her to get hurt.” Jon stifled a grin, “Damian, that’s adorable.” Damian blushed, “No-no it’s not!” What was happening? Damian Wayne did not stammer. “Wait I don’t know if I should still tell Marinette about my feelings. I’m not betraying the bro code.” Damian shut his book, “just ask her out Kent.” She would never go for me anyway, he added silently. “Are you sure?” Jon asked. No. “Yes.” A sudden knock at their door stopped their conversation. “It’s Marinette.” Jon whispered to Damian. Jon opened the door for her. “Hi guys!” She exclaimed, she was even more chipper than the day before, Raven’s Magic was really helping. “It’s grocery day. Wanna come? Tara isn’t coming again.” She mumbled the last sentence with slight annoyance. “Sure!” Jon lit up. Damian hid a smile, “sounds tolerable.” Marinette giggled, “G-great. A-are you both ready now?” The boys nodded. “Alright! Tikki! They’re ready!” She called in the hall. “Coming Marinette!” Tikki exclaimed. She phased through the boys’ wall. Jon jumped back. “I will never get used to that.” Jon laughed. Marinette opened her pouch which Tikki flew in.

As the trio walked to the store Marinette’s hair flew in the wind, she had started wearing it down after she wanted a change from her Paris look. Both Damian and Jon thought it suited her and Damian liked it a little more than he wanted to admit. Marinette walked ahead of them and accidentally ran into some Italian girl with ugly brown hair. “Oh would you look at that. If it isn’t the old school slut in the flesh.” A redhead girl next to her sneered in French.

Alya’s POV (a while earlier):

“Alright students. Make sure to walk in groups of two or three at the smallest. We don’t want anyone getting lost.” Miss Bustier smiled. Alya took the arms of Sabrina and Lila and they walked together. Alya was amazed again, Lila had said that she personally knew the Teen Titans. “We go way back! I’m an honorary member you know, but recently they’ve been saying that everything has gone south now that Marinette arrived.” Alya tugged at her bestie’s shoulder playfully, “Wow girl you’re awesome! Who don’t you know?” Lila sighed, “Marinette never thought so.” Alya rolled her eyes, “Girl Just forget about her. She’s a bully and she doesn’t need to be ruining our bonding time. We’re in Jump City to enjoy ourselves! It’s not everyday we go on a class trip abroad, besides we probably won’t even see Marinette!” Lila sniffed, “It’s just, now that she’s gone it’s like Adrien won’t even pay attention to anyone.” Sabrina scoffed, “Come on Lila, you know she was a slut, she probably manipulated Adrien and then broke his heart.” A girl with blue hair bumped into Lila and Alya rolled her eyes, she was sure it was on purpose when she saw her old friend, Marinette. “Oh would you look at that. If it isn’t the old school slut in the flesh.” Sabrina sneered.

Jon and Damian again:

Marinette shrunk in on herself. Jon didn’t understand French, but he immediately knew these girls were bad news. Damian however, could understand French and he was about to murder these girls. “What did you say to her?” Damian spoke in perfect French, glaring the redhead white girl in glasses down. “Come on don’t defend that bully! Even the Teen Titans think she’s awful! Look I don’t know who you are, but obviously Marinette has you wrapped around her little finger.” Alya yelled at Damian. Damian growled. “Damian.” Marinette said, trying (and failing) to stop him from being rash and angry. “Listen to me now. Marinette is the sweetest and kindest person ever. I can see now one of the reasons she wanted to leave Paris, you are all insolent and idiotic if you believe anything other than the truth, that Marinette is amazing and would never bully anyone in her life.” Damian stated plainly with a look of resentment on his face while Alya and Sabrina gave him a death glare. “Oh and another thing! Marinette is respected by the teen titans, they like her, like any good person would.” Damian added. Lila looked like she was on the verge of crocodile tears, her solution to everything. Jon was thoroughly confused with the French dialogue but he knew that look on Damian’s face meant that he was just a little while away from snapping and doing something dangerous and violent. “Ok ok, maybe we should calm down…” Jon said in English. “You do not understand. Marinette is a bully, you will learn.” Lila said in English choppily between fake sobs. Alya glared at the trio before leading Lila away from them. “Did she seriously just call you a bully?!” Jon asked Marinette. “Yeah.” Marinette said blankly, she looked like she was on the verge of tears. “They’re dead.” Damian said emotionlessly.

Alya:

Alya couldn't believe what had just happened, Marinette was such a manipulator. She almost felt bad for those people with her. Though the boy with green eyes seemed just as bad as Marinette in Alya’s opinion, maybe she’d finally found people she deserved. Alya patted a crying Lila on the back in sympathy. When they got further away Alya saw Adrien with her ex-boyfriend Nino. Marinette kept causing trouble even after she left, DJWiFi broke up because Nino refused to realize she was a bully. Ignoring her ex, Alya marched up to Adrien and said, “We just ran into Marinette. Her and her friends made Lila cry. If you comforted her it would mean a lot, or maybe confront that bully Marinette.” Adrien’s eyes lit up, “you saw Marinette?” Alya rolled her eyes, “yeah she lives in Jump City now. She mentioned it before she left.” Adrien stared at Alya, “Where is she now?” Alya brightened, maybe he would finally confront Marinette. “She was over by the grocery store down the block.” Adrien took off, leaving Nino in the dust. Jon and Damian:

Jon draped an arm over Marinette. He felt so awful, especially that he couldn’t even speak French, if Damian wasn’t there he didn’t know what he’d have done. Marinette was staying strong, she was looking at the grocery list very intensely. So intensely that she didn’t notice another classmate come in.

Adrien saw Jon touching Marinette and got angry, no, not angry, livid. He was going to make sure nobody touched his Princess. He sauntered up to Marinette and tapped her on the shoulder that the other boy wasn’t holding. Jon heard the boy with his superhearing. He and Marinette turned at the same time. The blonde boy started conversing with her in French and Damian looked across the store to where Damian was and gave him a quick nod as to say, come here. Damian could translate for him, so he’d know if he had to kick this little blonde boy’s ass. Damian shuffled over. As the boy continued to talk with marinette, Damian repeated his words at a low whisper in English, that only Jon could hear. “We miss you, I miss you. Please come back. You can come with us when we leave, I can arrange an extra ticket.” Marinette shook her head and responded, “I can’t do that Adrien, I’m not interested in going back to Paris. I like it here.” Adrien grabbed her wrist, “Come on princess, at least come catch up with me for a little.” Marinette froze, the nickname. She was seeing double, Chat Noir and Adrien, Chat Noir and Adrien, they moved closer together as the world began to spin, until they merged into one. Then, her world went dark.

“Let her go! Right now!” Damian yelled. “She’s coming back with me!” Adrien hissed. Jon pried the boy and Mari apart. Damian looked at Marinette, she had dilated pupils and a glazed look on her face. She was getting some concerned looks from shoppers, but they were smart enough not to intervene. “Look at her! She doesn’t want to be around you! She’s having a panic attack! We’re taking her back to our house!” Adrien’s eyes narrowed at the word our. Shit, Damian thought, I shouldn’t have given away that much. Damian picked up Marinette bridal style and Jon shoved the blonde boy to the side, Damian walked through with her and walked out of the store. As the boys walked back Jon felt slightly off. He knew the blonde prick who caused Marinette’s panic attack wasn’t there, he would’ve heard him, but for some reason he still felt his presence. Jon picked up his pace a little and Damian followed suit. They arrived at the tower shortly and a worried Kori awaited them. Jon texted Kori to tell her what happened. Raven was also there, that made the boys feel at ease, Raven could heal. Damian held onto Marinette tightly as Raven began to chant. She quickly healed her and Marinette woke up. She sat up in Damian’s arms. She started to ramble in French. “What’s she saying?” Jon asked. Kori nor Raven could speak French either. “I can’t pick up everything, she’s speaking too fast. Something about… a black cat, some kid named Adrien, and…” Damian paused with a look of horror on his face. Marinette was crying as she continued to speak in muffled French. “And what?” Kori asked, scared by what the answer might be. “And a rape.”
