Best Boiler for a Large House
The appropriate boiler for a large house will have an impact on the efficiency involving energy, comfort, and consistency in heating. Boilers for larger homes are usually chosen with greater capacity to ensure that sufficient hot water is provided and comfortable temperatures inside maintained. With such numbers of choices, what makes one better than the other for a large property becomes something that can guide the decisions of a homeowner.
1. Factors to Consider in Large Homes
These are some of the things you will consider when settling for the perfect boiler for the large house: heating capacity, fuel efficiency, installation size, and flow rate. This is what you need to know:
Capacity and Power Output: Because it's a larger house, you want a boiler with a higher output rating. The output rating for the larger home usually falls between 30 to 50 kW. This is a concept where there must be enough power in the boiler to heat up and warm a number of bathrooms, radiators, and rooms without the performance dropping.
The type of fuel also depends on the fuel one would use, such as gas, oil, or electric boilers. In most cases, different types of fuel also have their advantages and disadvantages. Depending on the size of the house, you may find that gas is often the cheapest in the bigger places; if not an option for you, electric would be an option, but those will be more costly over time.
Flow Rate: Where there are multiple bathrooms in the home or where the hot water usage is pretty high, a system boiler or a very high output combi boiler can deliver a pretty good consistent flow rate without losing any level of heating efficiency.
Installation Size: Not all boilers take up the same space. Some tend to be bigger than others. System boilers and regular boilers tend to be preferred in larger homes as they employ a separate hot water cylinder that relieves pressure on the unit and delivers reliable warmth.
2. Best Boilers for Large Homes
There are a number of boiler units designed particularly with large houses in mind. Some of the best models include
System Boilers: An ideal system boiler is what you would need for larger houses. It keeps the hot water cylinder separate so produces a high flow rate and is able to supply large quantities of hot water. System boilers also connect well to a solar setup for even further efficiency in heating.
Combi Boilers: This type is suitable for those who need a lot of hot water because large-capacity combi boilers can provide an instant hot water supply without requiring a hot water cylinder. Their best performance comes when used in appliances that are installed in one bathroom at a time, so that the hot water is not drawn at the same moment from multiple bathrooms in the house.
Regular Boilers: these are also known as regular boilers. They are ideal for large households with many radiators as well as bathrooms. The hot water needs a cylinder and a cold-water tank but comes with a lot of energy efficiency.
3. Energy efficiency and cost saving
However, investing in an energy-efficient boiler could save a lot of money for a large home over time. Consider only those models that have a high efficiency rating above 90% and an A-rated option at least, which refers to the models that come into compliance with the most stringent energy-saving criteria. An energy-efficient boiler will not only reduce household energy bills but minimize the carbon footprints of your home and thereby support a sustainable source of home heating.
Smart Heating Hub Ltd provides energy-efficient boilers that have high ratings appropriate for the big houses. We offer professional guidance and installing services to ensure you have the most reliable and efficient boiler for your property.
4. Choosing the Right Brand and Model
Some of the popular brands include Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, and Ideal, some of which use highly reliable boilers with high energy efficiency, making them ideal for large premises. A notable example is the Worcester Bosch Greenstar system boilers. This one is indeed a heavy-duty boiler with low amounts of energy consumption, very smooth performance, and most importantly, highly durable. Vaillant ecoTEC series will be similar since they target energy efficiency and durability.

Eddie Munson x fem goth cheerleader reader
ao3 link
2 part story Eddie x reader friends to lovers, slow burn
You were dating the hottest jock in school until one day you met Eddie and your life changed forever. (Reader is 19 Eddie is 20).
7.2K words
read part 2 here
Being a cheerleader at Hawkins High School was your claim to instant popularity. You were dating Chrissy Cunningham's boyfriend, Jason Carver's best friend, Sam. He was a typical jock, brunette, all-star basketball player, muscular, with brown eyes and the total package. Girls wanted him and guys wanted to be him. Chrissy was your friend and made being a cheerleader bearable. You were a former loner and secretly loved horror movies, goth aesthetic, dungeons & dragons, and metal like Ozzy, Judas Priest, Dio, and even Corroded Coffin. Guys like Eddie were living the type of life you wanted and thought was ideal, but somehow, being popular wasn't all it was cut out to be. You knew your boyfriend was probably cheating, and you thought going to see Eddie make a drug deal would be the perfect escape for you. Eddie's hatred for jocks was endearing. The week had dragged on and now that it was Thursday and close to the weekend; you were trying to look on the brighter side of things. Every afternoon after lunch, he was in the boiler room, skipping class and making drug deals. The nickname they had for him, Eddie 'the freak' Munson, was a title he didn't seem to mind. He embraced it. He was always so cool, calm, collected, and polite when you passed him in the halls. He was rumored to sell some of the best drugs, so after lunch on Thursday, you stopped by the boiler room. It was darkly lit in the boiler room, but once you saw Eddie, you didn't hesitate or waver as you walked toward him.
"Hey um… Y/N.. right?" He asked with his curious wide and brown button eyes. He crossed his arms, unsure at first about how to react to a cheerleader here seeing him about buying drugs, and he secretly wondered if you were a narc. Either way, he thought you looked great in your green and white uniform complete with leather jacket and rockstar patches/pins.
Although he was skeptical, you planned on making the deal rather than getting out of there. Being alone with a guy who wasn't your boyfriend was probably not the right thing to be doing. Just seeing him and getting the weed would be good enough… for now. He had a metal lunchbox next to him with his drug inventory.
"I'm here to buy some weed," you told him firmly, trying your best to maintain eye contact.
"Oh, uh, well, that will be fifteen bucks for half an ounce."
His tattoos were visible under the dim lights and you couldn't help but stare at them a little. He soon caught on and noticed your lingering eyes and stare. You looked for your wallet and then noticed it wasn't there. You left it in your locker.
"Guess I left it in my locker," you told him, sounding bummed.
"Well, let's just do this deal tomorrow, then. I will save some for you."
You had a basketball game to cheer at the next afternoon, but you could make it work before the game and make it your priority to make the deal.
"Okay, sure. Maybe we can even smoke like a joint together?" You asked curiously.
"Why not? I'd like that," he told you with a smirk. He uncrossed his arms and then put his hand out to shake, which you did.
"Deal. See you tomorrow then."
Eddie nodded and checked you out as you left, his eyes lingering on your body. He wasn't normally the type to go for cheerleaders but you were gorgeous and he was pleasantly surprised you were talking to him, yet grateful and not just because you would be a new customer for him. The rest of the school day passed with extreme boredom. You couldn't wait for the party that night.
You had a lot of homework, and weren't sure you could make it by the time the party started, which you told Sam earlier that day. Eventually, you finished and decided to still go to the party. It was a bit late by the time you got there and no one else knew you were going, but you saw Chrissy and exchanged pleasant hellos. You knew Sam would be around here somewhere and asked around about him. No one knew for sure where he had gone off once he finished beer Pong. You passed Steve on the way up the stairs and he stopped you.
"Hey. We didn't think you were going to show up," Steve said nonchalantly.
"Just looking for Sam."
"Yeah, you probably don't want to go into the third bedroom down the hall," he warned.
"Why? What do you mean?" You asked looking confused.
"Don't say I didn't warn you."
You went to the bedroom in question and went inside, turning the doorknob, and saw Sam heavily making out with a half-naked cheerleader on the bed as she was giving him a handjob through the tent hole in his boxers. You slammed the door and ran through the hall and down the stairs until you reached the door. Now, more than ever, you wanted to be as far away from those jocks and popular kids as possible. Chrissy ran after you, knowing you were crying, but you were far gone before she could confront you. As soon as you got home, you blasted some metal music and drowned your sorrows with the musical styling of Motorhead until you fell asleep.
The next morning you woke up after a fever dream of you hooking up with Eddie after he told off your soon-to-be ex. It would be a good day as long as you could see Eddie and stick it to that lying cheater's face. Unfortunately, you had to wear your Hawkins High cheer uniform today, but hopefully, Eddie wouldn't mind it too much.
At school, you ignored your boyfriend, and carried on the day doing your best to practice patience, til you saw Eddie again. It was easy to ignore Sam when you didn't even have the same classes. During lunch, you skipped and went to eat outside. Eddie noticed you sitting alone and came over to you.
"Are you okay? Why are you eating alone?"
"I could ask you the same thing, Munson."
"It's none of my business, but is something wrong? Usually, you were surrounded by all your friends and the popular kids, especially during lunch on a game day."
"Well, not today. I found out last night at a party my boyfriend was cheating on me," you confessed looking down sheepishly.
He sat down next to you and put his arm around you. His touch was so comforting, and he smelled nice.
"That guy is a loser. You don't need him. Look, I'll give you a deal on the weed. We can smoke a joint together at no extra cost, and I'll let you have a dime bag for ten dollars. Now, how does that sound?"
"Great actually. Thank you. You know what, Eddie, you are pretty great."
"Thanks. I thought you'd be sort of scary, but you aren't. Look, do you want to find somewhere off campus and smoke?"
"Wouldn't your girlfriend be upset about that, though?"
"I don't have a girlfriend," he told you plainly with a shrug of his shoulders.
You smiled at him, hoping this drive would be a good thing.
"Okay, let's go then. Anywhere you want to go. I'm down."
He got up, took your hand, and then led you to his van. Once you got into the passenger seat and he got into the driver's side, he started up his van and pulled away from the parking lot. It was nice to be getting away from Hawkins. As he drove closer to the woods, you wondered if this was where he was planning to take you. Being far away from civilization and people, though, was what you needed, so you happily went along with him. He soon stopped at a residential park and turned off the engine. He got out and helped you from the van by opening your door. You walked with him to a picnic table and sat down.
You didn't think this could be you. Sitting here at a picnic table in the park all alone with Eddie 'the freak.' If only the kids at school could see you now. All you knew was that you never wanted to be with Sam again. Eddie could hopefully take away the thoughts you still had of your soon-to-be ex. The breakup, even informal, would be what you needed to do soon. You watched as he lit up a joint and took a deep drag before handing it to you. Deeply you inhaled, then blew out the smoke and passed it back to him.
"I'm glad you came here with me. It's kinda of tedious to come out here alone. I'm trying to skip classes more at least. It's nice to have some company," he told you before taking another inhale and passing the joint.
"I agree. I needed this escape. Anything to get away from the school crowd. Sometimes I wish I could just quit everything, especially the popular lifestyle. I thought I wanted it at some point, but not anymore."
"I know we don't run with the same crowd at all, but you are a good person. I can see it in your eyes."
You gazed into his chocolate eyes as you took another drag and passed it with a smile.
"Thanks, Eddie. I think you are too. I'm so not looking forward to Monday's auction of the cheerleaders and jocks. It's all for charity and a good cause, but I can't possibly go out with Sam. He always pledges the most money for these things, just like his stupid friends," you told him glumly, not wanting to bore him with the auction details or your problems.
"You know what? I have been saving up for a while now and I have a good bit of money. Why don't I buy you at the auction? It is for charity, right? I think it would be nice to take you out to cheer you up." He played with some strands of his curly brown hair as he inhaled the joint and exhaled.
His rings were stunning and you couldn't help but look at them as he talked. He was so eloquent with his words. You would give anything at that moment to be touched by him. Just to have the chance to hang out with him more like this would be the best.
"Good. That would be the best thing. I'll let you do that if you want to. I'll break up with him soon."
"You deserve someone much better. For our date from the auction, I was thinking we could do a nice night out or you could pick where we go."
"How about camping? Next weekend? I would like that haven't been camping in a long time," you replied with a shrug of your shoulders as he handed the joint back to you.
You didn't know if it was the weed talking or not, but you wanted to kiss him at that moment so much. Who cared about Sam or Hawkins High or anything? You wanted him and hoped he wanted you, too. You licked your lips casually and tried to be as nonchalant as possible as you bit them. Eddie was paying attention from his side eye though and noticed.
"Camping would be great. I know a good place. What's on your mind?"
"I've been thinking about kissing you," you admitted after a gulp, feeling slightly nervous.
Eddie glanced at you with a smirk on his face. He didn't know if this was a rebound, but he didn't care. He had been thinking about kissing you since the moment he saw you.
"I'd be more than okay with that."
You passed the joint back after taking a hit and he took one more before stomping it out.
You moved closer to him and he ran his fingers through your hair as he stared longingly into your eyes and moved in closer to you. You were so close- closer than ever. Your lips grazed his as he ran his fingers through your hair. He kissed you slowly with a fiery passion as your lips collided and you tasted him, parting his lips with your tongue. As you explore each other's mouths, he pulls you in closer to him by grabbing your waist. The way he kissed you was incredible and no one else came even close to being as good of a kisser. His hands roamed up towards your chest, before he stopped himself. Just as you realized what he was doing, you grabbed his hands and put them over your breasts, cupping them and he moved his mouth to your neck, sucking and licking you there. The kisses he gave you were so hot and it made you feel so turned on, but you didn't want to move things too fast and things with Sam weren't exactly over yet.
"Maybe we could save this for our weekend of camping. Pick up where we left off."
"That's fine. I've rushed things before and regretted it, but you have a good point. Let's rest and chill in the back of my van for a bit."
You walked with him hand in hand to his van and got into the back. He had pillows, blankets, a comforter, and sheets all setup. He held you as you relaxed and pulled you in close to him. It was so comforting for him to have you there and he already considered you a friend and even wanted things to be more, but he would wait for you until the time was right. Minutes passed, then a half hour, and before you knew it, you were both napping. Eddie's soft breathing was soothing, and you felt safe in his arms. Two hours passed, and you stirred awake slowly in his arms. He woke up soon after that and gave you a forehead kiss.
"I'll take you home if you want me to."
"Thanks, Eddie. Call me this weekend, though."
As you both woke up fully and got ready to go to your place, you wrote your number down and put it on his dashboard. As soon as you got home, you planned on calling Sam to break the news about it being over.
Once you got back to your place, he got out and opened your door for you, then walked you to the front door.
"You're the perfect gentleman. Thanks for everything."
"No need to thank me."
He waved goodbye, then walked to his van and pulled away after he made sure you were safely inside. No one else was home, and you were focused on breaking up with that cheating jerk of a so-called boyfriend. After three rings, he answered.
"Look it's over. I saw you at that party on Thursday. You cheated on me."
"Babe, I can explain."
You huffed angrily before replying in a furious tone of voice.
"Explain what? That you were kissing a half-naked girl with her hand inside your boxers?"
"I was drunk and fucked up. Didn't know you would even show up. I'm sorry OK? It was the biggest mistake and I regret it. I plan on buying a date at the charity auction and making it up to you."
"Too late for that. I'm done and I could not care less about seeing your stupid face again."
You hung up quickly in haste, wanting to put that idiot to rest. You spent the night in the bathtub soaking and thinking about Eddie. Imagining what it would be like to have him taste you and to taste him. You had never had a partner who was good at oral, but he seemed like he would be perfect at it.
Eddie thought of you when he was in the shower, and touching himself. He imagined you down on your knees in front of him and all he could think about was your mouth and lips.
Saturday came and went, but on Sunday night, Eddie called.
"Hey, it's me. I'm looking forward to tomorrow. I know we didn't make a deal on the weed Friday, but if you still want to buy some, I'll give you that discount."
"Thanks, Eddie. I broke up with Sam on Friday night, but he's still pathetic enough to think he'll win me at the auction."
"Not a chance, babe. I will outbid him."
"Good. I need that. Please do. A date with him would be the worst. I'm glad we met even under the circumstances."
Eddie cracked a smile at this feeling happy to have you in his life.
"See you tomorrow?" He asked as he relaxed on his bed.
"Yeah, but how about we stay on the phone? It would be comforting. To know you were on the other line would be great."
"I agree. Sweet dreams. Don't worry, I won't hang up."
"Sweet dreams Eddie."
You placed the phone near your head, soon drifting off to sleep. The night passed and early morning came, then went and it was finally time to wake up. Your alarm clock went off, and you quickly turned it off.
"I hope you slept well, Eddie."
"I did. Hope you did too beautiful," he told you in a sleepy tone.
"See you soon."
"You too."
You hung up and got ready, dressed in your cheerleader uniform, and ate breakfast. Once you got to school, you looked for Eddie soon, finding him near your locker.
"I guess the auction is soon isn't it? Ready to win Mr. Munson?"
"I sure am."
He looked at you longingly and held your hand and not long after, the bell rang. After lunch, the auction would take place. You and Eddie said your goodbyes and then went to class. By lunchtime, you were feeling overwhelmed, but glad the auction would be over soon. You ate with the squad, tossing Eddie occasional glances from across the room. He looked right back at you and smiled each time you looked at his table.
The auction started promptly at 1 p.m. and everyone went to the gym. You weren't sure of the outcome or what to expect, but it would be good if Sam at least lost.
To no one's surprise, all the jocks won a lot of money for the charity auction. The cheerleaders were up next and you were first.
"For this lady, who would like to start the bidding wars at $10?"
Eddie shouted Me and Sam soon followed with $20. He wondered what the hell he was doing here probably, but you were so glad he was there to outbid Sam. Eddie replied with $40, then Sam $80.
Things were getting heated, and it could be anyone's win. You looked out at the crowd and Sam seemed pissed. He didn't want to lose to the freak, and he was determined to win you back. Not under any circumstance would that happen.
Eddie bet $100 and Sam bet $120. Eddie bid $140 after and Sam betted even more at $160. Eddie's final bet was $180 and by then, Sam gave up, defeated. To your relief, Eddie won the date with you, and Sam stormed off in a huff. Once the pep rally ended, you met Eddie in the hallway, rushing into his arms as he twirled you around.
"I'm glad it worked out. I knew it would," you told him excitedly.
"I knew it would too. Sam is crazy. I'm just glad I got you."
"You knew I wouldn't go out with him either way, right? I was going to be with you, regardless."
He kissed you and hugged you, making you feel happier than ever.
"I knew that. I can't wait for Friday. It can't come fast enough."
"I know what you mean. Call me sometime soon."
He nodded in agreement. Then you both went to your last classes of the day. Unfortunately, Sam was in this class. Once it was over, he came up to you angrily.
"I could've won you easily and I would've, but you know what? You are just a cheap little slut," he told you with a raised voice.
"Get away from me. I hate you. Eddie will treat me right."
"Good luck with that. He's a loser."
"I have nothing left to say to you."
You walked away feeling relief and like a big weight had just been lifted off your shoulders. You had a feeling it wouldn't be the last time you would see or at least hear from Sam. He was the last person you ever wanted to see again, and you just hoped graduation would hurry and arrive. There were 3 months left until you took that stage and hopefully, Eddie would be there to graduate with you. He would help make these last several months bearable. It wasn't like you to rush into relationships right after a breakup and in this case even before a breakup, but he was special to you already. Prom seemed like a cliche, but when the time was right, you would ask him to be your date.
The rest of the week passed slowly, but when it was finally Friday night, you were ecstatic. He called you every day of the week and you talked to him about everything, including horror movies, metal music, concerts, dreams, food, TV shows, books, dungeons & dragons, and what you planned to do after graduation. At 6, he would come over to start the weekend. Thankfully, with camping, it was safe because it wasn't somewhere where Sam would think to look for you, and of course, you wanted to have Eddie all to yourself. He was all packed with his sleeping bag, blankets, a big tent, sheets, camping gear, an extra change of clothes, snacks, a canteen, and booze. You had a bunch of homemade snacks to bring and you wanted to make sure it was a great trip by even throwing in a cassette player with some of your best heavy metal cassettes just in case either of you wanted to play some music. You got all the camping necessities together, and he arrived on time. No one else was home and once you let him in and led him to your room, he couldn't help but notice your huge metal collection of vinyl and cassettes.
"Wow, this is so great you have Slayer, Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, WASP, Motley Crue, KISS, Dio, and more. I'm quite impressed. It's just that most girls wouldn't love music like this. You know, real music?"
"Yeah, well, I love it all. I'm into any rock, especially female-fronted. The Runaways are probably one of the best rock bands I have in my collection, and I love punk rock like the Sex Pistols and The Ramones."
"Good choices. So I think you are like my musical soulmate or something, y'know?" He said as he flashed the devil's horns sign with his fingers and a huge grimace his tongue sticking out.
"It's great we have that in common. I think it's going to be nice to go camping and don't worry, I didn't forget to bring along some music for us," you told him as you held up the boombox and bag of cassettes.
"Let's get going soon, though. I was thinking we could grill some burgers and hot dogs. I have a cooler in my van. Also, some booze. Weed and cigs too, if you'd like to smoke some," he told you with a slight shrug.
You wrapped your arms around him and kissed him. He knew you so well and what you liked already.
"That's perfect. I'm all ready to go just need to feed my puppy."
Eddie looked at you, amused, as you went to feed your little dog, Ozzy, a black lab. As soon as Eddie saw your precious little puppy, he reached his hand out for him to sniff which Ozzy did and he pounced at Eddie, jumping, wanting to be held. He obliged, holding the little guy as you got his food and water, and handed him a special treat.
"He's so cute. What's his name?"
"Ozzy. I've had him now for over 2 months. He's going to get pretty big, but I love him, anyway." You gave his head little pats and rubs, which he always loved. After Eddie placed him down, he went to his bowl and began eating.
"What a good little pup. I hope you won't miss him too much. I know I would if he was my dog."
"I will. He's my little guy. I am glad you got to meet him. I just knew that he would love you."
You led Eddie out of your house and he helped you with your stuff, soon loading it into the back of his van. It would be a great trip and you couldn't wait to be under the stars in the fresh air. As soon as everything was ready, you got into his van and drove off to the camping spot just as a beautiful red and orange sunset with yellow hues formed in the sky.
"Mind if I play some metal?" He asked.
"I would love that."
He turned on the cassette player and the familiar sound of Ozzy Osbourne's voice on the track War Pigs by Black Sabbath began blasting from the speakers. He tapped in rhythm and time to the beat of the music on his steering wheel as he drove to a familiar campsite and you got into the music as well, head-banging and flashing the devil horns. It was more secluded, but still a relatively safe place. Few other cars were on the road and thankfully by the time you got to the camping area, you didn't notice many vehicles in the parking lot. It was getting dark fast, but with Eddie; you weren't worried or scared about anything. Soon you arrived and took in your surroundings, finding the camping spot quite cozy.
You moved into the back to unload the camping gear and bags. He was eager to get the tent pitched and to unpack, then look for wood and start a nice bonfire for the night. It was still very early spring and chilly, but you bundled up enough for the weather. He opened the back doors to his van and unloaded onto the pavement and nearby grass.
"See any good place to set up camp? Just let me know."
"Sure, Eddie. I can't wait to get everything ready and enjoy tonight."
As you helped him get out all the camping gear and your boombox, he reached into his van to get out the two shirts he wanted you to have. One was for Hellfire Club and the other shirt was a new print of a Corroded Coffin official shirt. You took them from him with a bit of surprise and a wide grin formed on your face.
"These are amazing. Thanks. I'll be wearing them to school."
"You're welcome, beautiful."
You kissed him, and he blushed. It was so great to be called beautiful by him. You pretended not to notice and then folded the shirts nicely, putting them back in the van for now.
"I'll wear one of the shirts tomorrow."
"If you want to. C'mon, let's go gorgeous."
As you picked up the bags, he grabbed the boombox and got the cooler and you got the liquor and your bag. As you walked further into the campsite, you found a good place under a big tree to settle down.
"Wish I would've brought my guitar. Could've played for you. Maybe next time, though."
"Sure, that sounds great."
Few other people were around, at least not nearby, and you were glad. As soon as the tent was set up, you helped him bring the stuff to the campsite and set everything up. With clear skies and a no-rain broadcast, you were pretty certain it would be a nice night weather-wise. Now all that was left to do was find some twigs, rocks, and tree branches to make the fire.
"I can go get the branches. You can get the rocks," he suggested.
Following Eddie into the woods, you soon collected a nice bunch of rocks and he found a good bundle of firewood. Once it was all brought back to the campsite, he started the fire as you turned on the boombox and Slayer came through the speakers. As the orange and yellow flames flickered, he sat back relaxing on the grass so you took the opportunity to sit down on his lap and he wrapped his arms around you tenderly.
"Well, this is rather cozy and you have excellent taste in music," he whispered into your ear. His whispering gave you goosebumps. It was nice relaxing by the fireplace with him and listening to the best music.
You turned towards him and gave him a kiss, which he deepened kissing you even harder.
"How about we get some drinks going and grill the food?"
"Sure, that's a great idea. I'm practically starved," you told him as you held him close to you.
He reached over for the cooler pulled it closer, and took out the burger patties, hot dogs, the buns, and set the liquor bottle to the side for the time being.
As the food was cooking and the music was playing, you felt you were truly enjoying yourself on a date for the first time in a while. Being with him just felt natural and nice. He was so easygoing and a guy who cared genuinely about you and your feelings. Having him there on a camping trip was the perfect date night. Your ex thought a good date night was watching a basketball game with some beers or going to a pointless and stupid game. One of the best things about Eddie was that he loved metal music, DND, and horror movies, and thought a game where tossing balls into laundry baskets was dumb because it was one of the stupidest things ever to be created.
"I brought s'mores stuff for us later. I even made some chocolate chip cookies for us for dessert."
"That's perfect. You think of everything. Thanks, beautiful."
You wondered what Eddie thought of cheerleaders and why he liked you because you didn't think you were his type or stood a chance with him. You wanted to make this time with him last as long as you could and hoped he wouldn't get tired of you because you couldn't possibly get tired of him saying you were beautiful. Any name of endearment he wanted to call you was something you embraced. It was just great to have him to talk to. Most people wouldn't listen to you and care they would pretend to. With him, things were different, and you were just so content with even sitting there next to him in silence.
"I am having the best time with you. I didn't think you would have a date night this weekend with a cheerleader, though, did you?"
"Not really, but I'm pleasantly surprised. Nice to have a new friend who I can talk to so easily. It's a great thing though. I'd like to make it more though. It's just that we haven't known each other that long yet.."
His words were honest and true, but in a way, they made you yearn for it to be more. Taking things slow could make it better. As long as you had him in your life, you would be just fine. Trust wasn't easy to come by, and you were hoping you could gain his and that he would grow to trust you with time.
"I understand. Let's just spend more time together. Play some dnd, hang out with our friends and each other. I can even teach you how to cook."
"Definitely yes to all of that and of course I want you to come and see my band Corroded Coffin play live. We play every other weekend at the hideout on Saturday. So the next show is next Saturday night."
"I'll be there."
You finished cooking the food, and you both loaded yours onto paper plates. He drank the tequila straight from the bottle before offering it to you. You took a generous swig from the bottle and swallowed it, letting it relax you as it slightly made your throat tingle, but only in the best way possible. After adding ketchup and BBQ sauce to your food, you passed the bottle between each other taking sips of it, not wanting to get too drunk too fast if you could help it. As you sat there eating with him, you looked up at the stars and the full moon. It was so nice to be star-gazing with him just enjoying his company as you continued to sit on his lap and have him hold you. Once the main course of the meal was finished, you reached over into your knapsack to get out the Tupperware of cookies and other stuff to make s'mores. As you roasted the marshmallows, you both tried the cookies.
"Amazing. I need you to bake for me like this. Whenever you want to, though. No pressure, of course. I just love these cookies."
"Thanks, Eddie. I am an excellent baker, but just wait until you get to try my cooking. It's even better."
He looked at you, quite impressed, and grimaced.
"They are delicious, and I bet your cooking is even more wonderful."
Soon your marshmallows melted to your liking, and you added the chocolate and the graham crackers. It was the perfect treat for such a windy night with clear skies like these. After you finished your s'more and another cookie, you drank a bit more of the tequila, deciding it would be the rest you wanted for the night and felt drunk. He soon finished his dessert and gazed at the stars and moon, feeling so content with life and just being there. Back home, he had problems of his own, but didn't everyone? The cassette soon ended, and you turned off the player.
"How about we just stargaze for now and talk? Lay on our sleeping bags and when we get sleepy enough, we can just go back into the tent?" He offered, as his gaze never wavered from the stars.
"Sure, just gotta brush my teeth first and change into my nightgown."
You got up, and he did too. After you both brushed your teeth and changed, you brought the sleeping bags and a few pillows and set them up near the fireplace. You had one sleeping bag laid out and used the other sleeping bag as a blanket. Eddie pulled you in close and wrapped his arms around you because he needed to feel your touch and skin. The feeling of his soft curly waves of hair against your neck and his touch was so tender and affectionate. He had strong arms, of course, and just having him next to you like that was amazing and made you feel safe.
As you talked into the night with him about friends, hobbies, past job experiences, literature, and concerts, You discovered you both loved the same video games, had the same interests in art, and loved JRR Tolkien and Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit. Most of the concerts you had been to were like Eddies. If only you had known him sooner, you could've gone to concerts together. You secretly wanted to see his band play, but were always too shy and awkward about going alone. Chrissy had been to a Corroded Coffin show once, but she hadn't been back since, mainly because of her social status and her stupid boyfriend Jason not wanting to go to a rock concert. Eddie got up during the night to retrieve his leather-worn paperback copy of The Hobbit and you took turns reading some of the chapters to each other from the light of the fire. No other guy you had met seemed to love quality books, unlike Eddie, which made you want him to be in your life more. He had awesome taste in everything and was the coolest guy you had ever met. Little did you know, but he felt the same way about you. It was nearing 1 in the morning and Eddie checked his watch for the first time all night, noticing just how late it was getting.
"Maybe we should go to bed? Get up whenever tomorrow."
"Sure. I can put out the fire for us," he offered.
You got up, and he folded the blankets and sleeping bags as you doused the flames of the fire so it would go out. Once he was with you back in the tent with flashlights being your only source of light now, you listened to the owls in the nearby distance overhead and the surrounding trees. You were facing him and holding hands as his other hand rested against his head with his elbow propped up on his pillows.
"It's been so amazing spending this time with you. Just wanted to tell you I think you are beautiful. If you think I'm being a little slow with us and apprehensive, well, it's just because the last time I was seriously dating, she broke my heart and cheated on me," he admitted, looking just a little forlorn.
"I don't blame you for not wanting to rush into things. Sometimes it's better that way. I've been cheated on, too. I have a question though. Would you like to go to the prom with me? Doesn't seem like your scene or whatever, but it would be nice to go with someone I care about who likes the same things. Even if it's just as friends."
He answered you by leaning in close and meeting your lips in a kiss.
"Yes, of course, I'll go to the prom with you. I couldn't imagine going with anyone else. I was planning on going with some friends or just stag, but with you, it would be perfect."
You felt so relieved he felt that way and glad he was going to go with you to the stupid prom. You planned on wearing something vintage and all-black, of course, to show off your true style to the entire school. What mattered, though, was going together and what he thought of you.
"I'm so glad. I heard we can request songs from the DJ. I will ask for a metal song."
"Me too. Well, goodnight." He gave you a forehead kiss and then laid back down, fully relaxing into the pillows and blankets now.
Eddie and you fell asleep pretty quickly after that and slept peacefully throughout the night.
Sometime later he stirred awake in the middle of the night, not exactly sure himself what time it was, but he felt so turned on, feeling his straining erection pushing through his pants. He was having a dream about you- that he was devouring you and making you cum for him- orgasm after orgasm it was seemingly endless. There was no way he could fall back asleep unless he took care of it. Taking his time and being as quiet as he could, he took his hardened cock out of his boxers and began to lick and spit on his hand, then stroke himself with his back turned towards you. Some moments passed as he was getting off. You stirred awake slightly because you heard soft gasps and pants as he was getting himself closer and closer to his release and thinking about making love to you with you on top. Your cheeks blushed in the dark and you stayed perfectly still, not wanting to disturb him but knowing perfectly well what he was doing. It felt good to know that he was edging himself, no doubt because of you, and hearing the sounds he was making was so sexy. Quietly and slowly you reached down towards your pants and slipped your hand inside and with two fingers slid them over your already wet, slick heat. His panting noises were so hot and you tried your best to resist the urge to make any noise so as not to make him aware of the ways you were pleasuring yourself. Soft and low moans escaped your lips eventually though as you fingered yourself and he heard you smirking widely but not making you aware he knew what you were doing. Now he was closer than ever to reach climax and you wanted to be there with him. You bit your lips, doing your best to quiet yourself, and soon a wave of orgasm rushed over your body. Moments later, Eddie was right there with you groaning as he came down from his high. You both lay there in the darkness for who knows how long, but it was so nice to secretly or not so secretly get off with him. A little later on, he reached for some tissues and cleaned himself up before going back to dreaming about you. Soon after that, sleep overtook you too, and with it came dreams of your own. Dreams about dominating him and making him do whatever you wanted him to do. When you did finally have sex with Eddie, it would be worth the wait.
Morning came sometime later and, to your pleasant surprise, you opened your eyes to find Eddie with his arms wrapped around you, and holding you close to him. It felt so nice to be there with him sleeping in and having a nice morning with him just to yourself. No friends, no family, no stupid people from school around you. He was all yours and things felt like they should be.
You woke him up with a good morning kiss and straddled his lap. He opened his eyes slowly and looked at you with amusement.
"Good morning to you too, beautiful." He kissed you on your mouth, cheek, and neck.
"I think this is the best way to wake up."
"Oh yeah? Me too. Don't forget about next Saturday and the hideout."
"Don't worry, I won't."
You got up and got dressed for the day and Eddie soon did the same and brushed his teeth. Once you were both done getting ready, and packing up and taking down the tent, you got out the chocolate and glazed doughnuts from the cooler and handed him a big plastic bag with two donuts, and a carton of juice and took yours as well.
"Should get on the road we can eat in my van."
The rest of the camping site had cleared out, and it was already late morning. Sleeping in was so nice and you were grateful for that. Once you were on the road again, you drank your OJ and he drove. Soon you arrived back at your place and kissed him goodbye.
"I guess I'll see you at school, Ed's."
"I can't wait. Maybe we can have lunch together sometime."
You nodded in agreement and he walked you to your door and gave you one final goodbye kiss after he brought your stuff into your room. Once he was gone, you did your best to enjoy the rest of your Sunday with him on your mind often. Eddie himself thought about you nearly constantly and spent some time with his friends, like Garrett and Dustin. He wanted so badly to tell him about this super amazing girl he had met but wanted to wait for them to meet you themselves first.

There is a cryptid in your house. You got warnings about this type of thing when you moved into this neighborhood, but your girlfriend wanted to live somewhere where you could have a single family home but that's still close to the subway lines, and this was your best option that you could afford.
You start seeing the cryptid in the boiler room and basement, but it's brash enough to go into your kitchen when it wants to. It's horrifying, with razor sharp teeth, glowing red eyes, claws of rusted silver, and a shape just human enough and just animal enough to be recognized as both and neither to your mind. You think it sleeps in the communal driveway out back, it makes you thankful your house isn't big enough to have a backyard to see it out there.
When you first saw it you thought you would die. But it stays away from you. It's scared of you of anything. East Coast cryptids are used to urbanized humans, they've adapted to be afraid of them most of the time, especially here in the city. It's only in here because it wants the food in your kitchen, it spends more time in your walls then it even does in your house. But if it sees you, it'll run.
Eventually you learn to live with the cryptid. You know when it tends to come around, what it likes to do. It'll keep eating food out of your kitchen, so you have to buy a surplus, eventually out of convenience you just start leaving out meals for it rather then letting your refrigerator take abuse.
It starts fearing you less. Both of you know eachother exist. You don't understand what power allows it to get into your house, and it doesn't understand the social structures that makes the house yourse. You just live with eachother. Eventually it becomes normal. When you invite your girlfriend's freinds over you forget to even tell them you have a cryptid, which leads to a lot of apologizing that night.
Eventually, you find out what species of cryptid it is. On a weekend visit to the American Unnatural History Museum uptown, you find a metal skeleton, in a display filled with the skeletons of countless varities of extant cryptids, that looks exactly like your cryptid. It's something called the Mid Atlantic Rushwaurt, quite common in coastal cities. It's rated as sentient, it can't talk due to its face shape, but this creature is theoretically as smart as you.
You decide to start interacting with your cryptid more. Your girlfriend has an office job while you work from home, so you're alone a lot. And it's a small enough house so that you can't avoid him anyway. When you see your cryptid you'll talk to him, tell him about what you're dealing with, though it's still weird to see that razor toothed mouth smile back to you, it's clear he enjoys the company.
You start watching TV with him more, letting his pale wraithlike body sit on your couch in a way you've never expected you'd allow. You'll even pet the flowing black hair ontop of his head if he let's you, or let his twin tails rest upon your legs as you watch.
He isn't a pet though. You know he would bite your head off if you threatened him. And when he leaves you don't ask why, and can't tell him no. Nobody can tell a cryptid no.
You'll show him illustrations you're working on now, he has a good eye for that sort of thing, and you communicate well enough so you can tell what he likes. You're part of a small game studio, and you find that he's a good playtester, especially for things that normal playtesters aren't good at showing because they know too much about games. The cryptid will show you his own art too, sculptures made out of bone and glass, things beautiful in a a way no human could ever create, but so clearly from an intelligent mind.
Eventually you get a visit. It's from the HOA, with a very well dressed woman who you've seen driving an obnoxiously large car telling you that she's here about the cryptid situation. Your house is attached on both sides, people can hear your cryptid on either side of you, and with the communal driveway they can see him sometimes. She tells you to get rid of him or else there will be legal grounds to reposses your house, she sounds serious.
You tell your cryptid that he has to be more quite, that he can't go out in the driveway as much. He doesn't seem to understand. You tell him it isn't your choice.
People keep asking you about your cryptid. You've never really spoken to the neighbors before. You tell them you're doing everything you can. That excuse buys you a few months at least.
Eventually you get another visit. A man in a green uniform is at your door. He's from the New York City Cryptid Protection Agency. You've seen him around the neighborhood, he's a veteran of the Third World War, he takes cryptid control more seriously then anyone else you've met, and he always carries a crossbow. He tells you that you have eight days to deal with the cryptid, you understand how urgent it is with him.
You tell your cryptid that he has to leave. That it's deadly for him to stay here. He doesn't understand what you mean by that. You beg him, explain that you don't have a choice. He doesn't leave, he doesn't understand why you would ever want him to leave.
You take a fire axe in your hands, and tell him in a seriously voice "leave". He hisses at you, but you can see fear in his eyes. You swing the axe at him, not to hurt him, just to make him afraid. He runs, you're not sure if he spared you or if he was afraid of you. You'll never see him again.
You still leave food out for him at first. It's weird thinking he isn't there. It's lonely being at home without him, and you don't have anyone you can show illustrations you're working on to.
The neighborhood thinks you're a hero, you chased away a cryptid with an axe. You can't explain to anyone how you aren't.

I've owned a LOT of fire types over the years (used to be a pro battler,) and I've seen this blog give some very good advice about giving pokemon space to use their flames, but none about actually setting up that space.
So, I figured I could help!
for a small pokemon, like say Slugma, a fireplace is fine! They really only need to bathe with their fire or let it out in small ways to stay satisfied.
For pokemon starting around vulpix sized to arcanine sized, here's what you're gonna wanna do:
-dig a shallow pit at least three times the width and length of the pokemon
-get a buddy with a truck and go to a home improvement retailer or some other kind of outdoor supply store
-get some concrete mix and spend a day with your friend filling the pit (asphalt is softer on your pokemon's feet BUT it also gets SO MUCH HOTTER so make sure you pick what's best for your pokemon!)
personally, I also like to buy a couple large rocks for smaller pokemon to clamber on and larger ones to use for target practice! granite is cheap and works well for this but you should definitely do some geology research to make sure the rock won't explode when superheated.
(sidenote: apartment living isn't ideal for fire types, but if it becomes necessary for whatever reason and there's no designated fire type areas nearby, ask if you can take your mon on walks to the boiler room! They may require you to have staff supervision but twice daily 'flaming' sessions are a necessity for most fire types to be happy and healthy!)
Hope this helps somebody!
Thank you so much!! All super helpful advice that I can verify as a pokemon vet in training ^^

Judd Birch x Charlie Jones (OC)
Chapter 1: Savior
Well, it started out as a nice day. I woke up early, cleaned my apartment, and finished a project that’s been annoying since I started; the footage just wouldn’t flow together correctly, and it pissed me off. I even decided to go for a walk. But it started to rain as I was walking back.
“Stupid rain. Always coming at the worst possible time.” I continued to curse the rain as I walked along the sidewalk.
I finally arrived at my apartment building. It wasn’t in the best neighbourhood but it was home. When I unlocked my door, I could hear my rats, Nicodemus and Jareth, chattering from their cage.
“You guys want to run around? Yeah, I bet you do.” I unlocked their cage and they crawled up my arms. They usually like curling up in my hair but since it's wet they stay on my arms.
“I know, I’m all wet.” Nicodemus crawls down my body and Jareth follows. They start to chase each other around on the floor.
I laugh and go get a towel and dry my hair. Now that my hair isn’t as wet, Nicodemus comes back and sits on my shoulder.
I owned his mother before him, so I've been in his life the whole time. I have always kept one of the rat pups when my rats had pups. The first rat I ever owned was Nicodemus’s great-great-great-great-great grandmother. I usually kept one of the girls but I bonded with Nicodemus. He has a salt and pepper coat. Jareth has a light golden blonde coat. The Rats of NIMH and Labyrinth are two of my favourite movies, and when I get two boys they both look like characters from those movies is just a happy coincidence.
I like having rats because of how intelligent and caring they are; they remember who someone is just like crows. That is if they are properly socialised. Before I got Jareth, I would take Nicodemus with me everywhere. He loved to sit on my shoulder when I skateboard. Jareth isn’t as active and adventurous as Niccy. He just likes to curl up in my bra when I’m doing work or watching TV. When I bought him home from the store he crawled into my bra as soon as I let him out of the box he came in. God, that makes him sound like a toy you get from Walmart.
Jareth decided that he wasn’t getting enough attention, so he crawled up into my shirt and into my bra, like always.
“You boys hungry? Let's have a snack.” I go towards the cupboards and look for something to eat. “Peanut butter toast sounds good? Yeah, it does.” I get out the peanut butter and bread. As the bread toasts, I put some peanut butter on my finger and hold it up to Nicodemus, “gentle, no biting,” I tell him. He licks all the peanut butter off and Jareth pops his head out of my shirt for some.
“Yes, you too.” He tries to pull my finger into my shirt so he doesn't have to stretch. “You are a little goofball, you know that right?”
After I finished my toast, I decided to have an after snack, snack. Weed. Such a lovely plant. I love that I can legally buy it now, instead of going through someone else who rises the price for underaged people.
“You two need to go back into your cage,” I walk over to the boys’ cage, “You know I don’t like you out when I’m not in the apartment.” I pull Jareth out of my shirt and place him in a hammock. Nicodemus crawls down my arm, following his brother. They curl up and start to fall asleep.
“You two are so cute,” I close the cage door and lock it. I don’t like the idea of them out when I can’t watch them because my dad once let his hamster out of its cage when he was younger and they never found him again until the house started to smell and the hamster was cooking over the boiler. Talk about the rodent owner's worst nightmare.
This time I put on a sweatshirt to go outside. It's still raining. I don’t like smoking inside because rats can get respiratory infections easily and I don’t want to cause my rats to get sick and suffer.
I’m about halfway through my blunt when I see two kids walking down the street with no jackets. One of them looks familiar. I think it's Judd's little brother. I’ve seen pictures of him from time to time. Judd may not tell anyone but he has pictures of his family on his phone.
“This is bad. We have no idea where we are.” The other one said.
“It’s getting so late,” Possibly-Nick said. It was getting late, “Our parents are probably freaking out right now.”
Did they sneak into the city? Damn, from the stories I've heard, he’s kinda a wimp.
“I would’ve done so many things differently. I would’ve wiped better.” Ok, now I’m stepping in.
“Hey, Kids!” I yell at them. I put up my hood so I don’t get any more wet. They look so freaked out.
“We didn’t do anything! I swear!” They back away.
“I’m not going to hurt you. You’re Judd Birch’s little brother aren’t you?” I ask Possibly-Nick.
“Yeah, I am. You know my brother?” Nick perks up.
“Unfortunately, I do. You guys want to come inside my place to dry off?” I ask them.
“I’m, you aren’t like a murderer, are you?” Nick asks.
“No, I’m not,” I laugh, “your brother is a good friend of mine. Look,” I pull out my phone, “ I Have a picture of him.” I show them a picture of Judd mauling a sandwich.
“Yeah, that’s my brother. Ok, we would really like someplace to dry off.”
They follow me up to my apartment.
“You boys want some hot chocolate or something to warm up?” I ask them as I hand the towels to dry off with.
“Yes, please.” They both answer. After I make them some hot chocolate and add some coffee to mine, I sit them down on my couch.
“What are you guys doing in the city without an adult? You guys are like, what, 10?”
“We’re not 10-“
“Nick dragged me into the city to make out with a girl, she went to the Rocks house, and we said we would meet her there because I this inner ear thing, so I obviously can’t fly, we lost my cool jazz hat, followed the ghost of Duke Ellington around the city, saw someone crapping on a sidewalk, saw my hat on a woman’s head and the women kissed our friend's mom who’s married, got mugged, and then we got lost and I want to go home!” Nick’s friend said in one breath. I thought I could talk fast but damn, that kids something else.
“Andrew!” Nick yelled angrily at him.
Nick’s scolding Andrew was caught off by me laughing at them. “This is too good, I mean from the stories I've heard from Judd you're a little wimp, but you going all the way to the city to make out with a girl,” I almost fell over, “I mean, how did you even get here? There’s no way you could have walked along the highway here.”
“We took the train here,” Nick told me.
“And now you have no money to get back, right?” I leaned back in my chair.
“Yeah,” Andrew answered.
“And how do you expect to get back to Bridgeton?”
Nick and Andrew looked at each other, plotting.
“We were hoping, now that we’ve met you, you could drive us back, or,” Nick spoke up, “at least give us the money to get a train back.” He tried to give me a ‘charming’ smile, but it wasn’t working on me, or, in my opinion, anyone.
I thought about it for a moment. Either drive these boys back to Bridgeton, which was a three-hour drive away, see them get in trouble with their parents, possibly convince Judd to spend the night with me, which I know he will say yes to because I’m awesome, or give them the money and have no fun what so ever tonight. Yeah, there was an obvious winner.
“Ok, I will drive you back,” The boys were excited, “On one condition.”
“Yeah, whatever,” Nick says, finishing his hot chocolate.
“Tell me something that Judd would never tell anyone else,” I smirked. This was going to be good.
“Um…He doesn’t really tell me anything. He likes his secrets.” Nick squirmed around on the couch.
“Oh, come on. You have to have something, don’t you? You’re his brother for fuck’s sake!”
“Well, when he was like four he make mom Valentine's card asking her to be his Valentine.”
Well, at least that's something. “I guess that’ll do,” I stand up and stretch. I handed Nick my phone, “Call your mother and tell her where you are. It’s getting late and I don’t want to be charged with kidnapping.”
As Nick dialed his mother, I walked into my room where I had the rat's cage.
“Hey, babies.” I unlock the cage, take out their food dish, and refill it, “I’m gonna be gone for a little while. Be nice to each other and don’t get hurt.” I relock the cage and change my pants from jeans to sweatpants. If I was going to be in a car for a little while I was going to be comfy.
“Hey Tweedle-dee, Tweedle-dumbass,” I walk out of my room and grab my car keys and purse, “Time to go.”

☕🥱A Random Headcanon: How Marc Got The Coffee Part I 🥱☕
Collège Françoise Dupont: Boiler Room
Nathaniel: (visibly annoyed) So we’re really doing this, huh?
Nino: Yep.
(Down in the boiler room, Nino had set up a small desk with a desk lamp, a radio that played what sounded like the soundtrack of an old detective movie, a stack of books, and a manila file folder. The teen wore a fake mustache and an old-style detective costume. On each opposing side of the desk stood two chairs, the one on the right being currently occupied by an exhausted Marc Anciel. The poor, tired writer was suffering from the effects of his caffeine crash and could barely keep his eyes open. His make-up was a dreadful mess from when he had his breakdown earlier, his hair was a frazzled mess, the dark circles encased around his eyes looked as though they had gotten deeper and darker, and his body that had before trembled and twitched so terribly now struggled against the intense feeling of exhaustion. Out of earshot in a corner, Nino and Nathaniel discussed Nino’s plan, which Nathaniel found to be very unnecessary, and annoying, and he would have been against taking any part in this ridiculous plan if the artist was not worried about his partner’s well-being.)
Nino: I’m sorry, Nath, but this is the only way.
Nathaniel: There are more than one, much better ways we could handle this! I don’t think this is best for Marc’s well-being right now. Just look at him! (points to the exhausted writer) He needs sleep!
Nino: Look, I get it. Marc’s crashing down from the caffeine and needs rest. But we have to do this for his own good! We need to find out where or more specifically, who did he get that coffee from! (starts counting off his fingers) The first time this happened he asked you to buy the coffee for him because he knew you didn’t know he couldn’t have it. The second time he took advantage of Rose’s kindness and trusting nature to secure the coffee. This time, however, he must have gone to someone who didn’t know that he couldn’t have coffee, and since no one is fessing up, we will have to find out who the guilty culprit is.
Nathaniel: But couldn’t we just ask him after he’s had time to rest and recover? Interrogating him when he’s in this state just seems too cruel. It feels like we’re treating him like some dangerous criminal.
Nino: (puts a reassuring hand on Nathaniel’s shoulder) Nath, I don’t want to watch him suffer any more than you do, but I’m afraid it has to be this way to prevent another episode from ever happening again. If we let him sleep first, he’ll have more energy and focus to come up with a lie or ID a scapegoat, and it will be even harder to get Marc to confess the truth. Marc may be more reasonable when he’s off the coffee, but he definitely wouldn’t give up his supplier willingly, especially if he knows that the rest of us don’t know who gave him his fix.
Nathaniel: (shoots Nino an incredulous look) “Supplier”? Really, Nino?
Nino: (defensively) Hey, technically caffeine is considered a drug! I looked it up!
Nathaniel: (crosses his arms) Not an illegal one. Hence why I feel like you are treating Marc like a dangerous criminal.
Nino: Oh come on, Nath! The last thing I want to do is treat Marc like a criminal!
Nathaniel: (raises an eyebrow) Then what’s with the Sherlock Holmes cosplay?
Nino: Because we’re trying to solve a mystery and I thought it would fit the aesthetic! (sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose).
Nathaniel: (appears hesitant) I still don’t like this….this feels like torture.
Nino: Nath, please trust me. I swear we’re not going to torture Marc. Just give us thirty minutes or so to question him, an hour at most. If he doesn’t confess within that amount of time, we’ll back off and let him get some sleep. On the other hand, if he tells us who supplied him with the coffee before the time is up, we’ll let him sleep sooner. And I promise, I’ll back off if he reaches his limit. Whatever happens during this, I won’t make Marc suffer more than he already has.
(Nathaniel pondered for a moment, considering Nino’s plan and compromise. The artist still felt conflicted about putting his partner through an interrogation while he was so sleep-deprived. He knew how physically exhausting the combination of caffeine withdrawal and insomnia from the previous night was on the writer along with the mental and emotional exhaustion of the pressure that Marc was clearly under mixed in with the aftermath of his breakdown from earlier. Nathaniel wanted Marc to rest. He wanted Marc to get better. He wanted to see that beautifully contagious and unburdened smile spread across his partner’s face again and never to see that strained and unhinged smile or the exhausted frown again. However, as guilty as Nathaniel felt for even considering going along with Nino’s plan, he also knew that Nino made some truthful points to defend his plan. Nathaniel didn’t want to admit it, but Nino was right when he argued that Marc wouldn’t easily name whoever gave him the coffee. Rose and himself were willing to own up to mistakes those times they had given Marc coffee, but this time no one is willing to admit that they had given Marc coffee. And knowing the writer, he would try to play off that “everything was fine” and there was no need to worry about who gave him the coffee, desperately trying to avoid talking about what had been bothering him so much and what was causing all the stress and pressure that he was under in the first place. Marc was never one to be willing to talk about his problems with others and always tried to appear as if everything was okay as best he could because he didn’t want to make others feel worried about him. If they were going to have any chance of finding out how Marc got coffee, now was their best and possibly only time while the writer didn’t have the energy to resist telling the truth.)
Nathaniel: (sighs) Forty minutes. We’ll question him for forty minutes and no more. And when I say “that’s enough”, I mean that’s enough. We won’t push him any farther than he can handle.
Nino: (nods in agreement) Alright, deal! Now that that’s settled, let’s get to it. Get ready to assume your role, good cop!
(Nino took a deep breath in and out as he adjusted his usual demeanor into a more serious demeanor as he now bore a stoic expression on his face. As Nino started walking towards the desk, Nathaniel rolled his eyes in annoyance.)
Nathaniel: (annoyed) Right, forgot that Nino wanted to do “Good Cop, Bad Cop” too.
(The two boys approached the desk where the exhausted writer now had his head face down on the desk, moaning in discomfort. Nino sat in the desk chair opposite the writer while Nathaniel stood next to the cosplaying detective. The “detective” then reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a tube of bubble solution and a bubble wand.)
Nino: (blows bubbles from the bubble wand with a stern look) Rise and shine, Marc.
Nathaniel: (smiles nervously) H-Hey Marc…um…how are you feeling?
(Marc rolls his head to the side, revealing his dreadfully exhausted face to the other two boys.)
Marc: (moans) My head…feels like it's going to split open…
Nino: (blows another bubble) Mhm. That would be the caffeine withdrawal hangover for you. Though we both already know that you are well familiar with the feeling.
Nathaniel: (shoots Nino a warning look) Nino…
Nino: (clears his throat, unfazed by Nathaniel’s glares) Anyway, enough beating around the bush. It’s time we all talk.
(Marc lifted his head off the table to give the “detective” an annoyed, tired look. His expression then turned into one of confusion as he took notice of the outfit that the young boy was wearing. The writer turned to look at Nathaniel with an eyebrow raised in confusion.)
Marc: Nath, why is Nino dressed as Sherlock Holmes?
Nathaniel: (sighs heavily and pinches the bridge of his nose) I have asked the same question, Marc.
Marc: Wait, does that mean you are supposed to be Watson?
Nathaniel: (shakes his head and glances annoyed at Nino) No, apparently I’m supposed to be “good cop”.
Marc: (tilts his tired head in confusion) Wait…(yawns)...I’m confused….(points to Nathaniel) If you’re “good cop”...(points to Nino) and you’re “Sherlock Holmes”....then who’s “bad cop”...or…what’s even going on here? What are you guys even doing?
Nathaniel: (smirks) Actually, Nino’s supposed to be the “bad cop”. The Sherlock Holmes cosplay is just Nino doing his own thing.
Marc: (gives Nino an incredulous look) You do realize your “Sherlock Holmes” cosplay doesn’t make any sense if you guys are doing “Good Cop, Bad Cop”, right? I mean, for one thing, Sherlock Holmes was far too intelligent and dignified to resort to such a cliche interrogation tactic that wasn’t even developed during his time! Not to mention that Sherlock Holmes didn’t even work for the British Police! Yes, they did work together on a few cases, specifically with Inspectors Lestrade and Gregson the most, but still-...
Nino: (slams his hand hard on the desk, startling Marc with a jump) That’s enough out of you! Nathaniel and I are the ones asking the questions here, Anciel!
Marc: (rolls his eyes) And I thought Jean was over dramatic…
Nino: (regains his composure and clears his throat again) Anyway, I hardly think that you’re in any position to judge my choices right now. After all, you’ve made some rather “questionable” decisions yourself recently, now have you?
Marc: Not more questionable than your choice of interrogation methods…or fashion…
Nino: Got nothing to say, huh? That’s fine, we’ll start things off then. (opens the manila folder) I don’t care to mince words with you, so I’m just going to come out and say it. (picks up three pictures from the folder) We all know that someone gave you coffee and we know that someone had to be someone who didn’t know that you couldn’t have coffee for reasons that we all know too well, i.e. one of these three prime suspects.
(Nino places all three photos in front of Marc. The first photo was of Zoé Lee, the second was a photo of Devin Nolan, and the third photo was of Noelle Odeja. Marc takes a brief look at the photos and averted his gaze away from the pictures.)
Marc: You don’t know what you’re talking about, Nino. You couldn’t even be more wrong. (smirks tiredly) That ridiculous hat you’re wearing might be too tight.
Nino: (smirks, unfazed by Marc’s remark) Seeing as though you still have enough energy to be cheeky, you’ll have no problem naming your supplier.
(Nathaniel rolls his eyes at Nino using the word “supplier” again.)
Marc: What makes you think that someone gave me the coffee? How do you know I didn’t just get the coffee myself?
Nino: You mean other than the fact that you’ve done this before?
Nathaniel: (places a hand gently on the writer’s shoulder) Marc, we know you didn’t get the coffee yourself. We know your moms won’t let you have coffee and for good reasons, too. (The writer shifted his eyes away from Nathaniel, but the artist continued.) We also know that the coffee you’ve been drinking is from your mama’s shop since you would never betray the family business by drinking coffee from a different coffee shop, which brings us to the ultimate reason why we know that someone bought the coffee for you. You would never even think of trying to steal coffee from your mama because too good of a person.
(Marc remained silent, knowing he couldn’t argue with their reasons given that they were right. Marc was raised too well to steal anything and would feel like a traitor if he tried to buy coffee from anywhere other than his mama’s shop. Nino noticed how quiet the writer had become and smiled a satisfied smirk.)
Nino: (smugly) I’ll take your silence as proof that we’re right. Now then, as we speak, our three prime suspects are currently being interrogated by my lovely partner and her best friend…
Marc: (rolls his eyes in annoyance) Great…Alya and Marinette are doing this too, huh? Let me guess, is Alya dressed up as well? Is she Watson? Or maybe she’s that reporter from New York who always writes about Majesta?
Nathaniel: (raises an eyebrow) C’mon Marc, it’s Alya.
Marc: Yeah, you’re right, Nath. (smirks at Nino) She doesn’t quite share the same flair for the overdramatic as other people do (snickers).
Nino: (slightly offended) Mock me all you want, Anciel. One way or another, we are going to find out the truth. We don’t care how long it takes. We’ll keep going all day and night if we have to.
Marc: (smiles smugly) We can’t stay on school grounds past five.
Nathaniel: And we’re not doing this any longer than forty minutes.
Nino: We’ll keep going till five if we have to.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Detective Nino is on the case (whether anyone asks or not)! Anyway, hope you guys enjoyed this continuation of the "Why Marc Shouldn't Have Coffee" saga. I was going to do a full headcanon, but I decided to split it into parts since it was getting rather long. Probably a bit out of character for Marc to be a sarcastic, smart mouth in this headcanon, but in his defense, he's exhausted. Stay tuned for part two when we read about Alya interrogating the three suspects. Who do you think did the crime? Share your thoughts, opinions, and theories about the guilty party.

Time Doesn't Heal All Wounds Part 1
Narrator: It was a beautiful spring day in England. The Flying Scotsman or Scott as most called him, was up for auction after his previous owner went bankrupt. This is the 3rd time in his preservation that this happened. After securing the necessary funds to make a bid, the National Railway Museum (NRM) had won the right to buy him.
(We cut to the auction).
Auctioneer: Sold to the representatives of the NRM for £2.3 million. As a reminder, they will be getting not only the locomotive, but also his spare boiler, cylinders and a Mark 1 supporting coach.
(The representatives smile as they walked up to Scott).
Andrew: Hello, Flying Scotsman. My name is Andrew J. Scott. I'm the director of the museum, it's an honor to have you with us.
Scott: The pleasure's all mine, sir. I've heard a lot about the museum from my dear cousins. It's been a long time since I've last seen them.
Andrew: Well, I'm sure you would like to see them. But first, we have to see how you run and determine if you're able to pull trains.
Scott: I understand, sir. Will we be able to leave now?
Andrew: Yes, I have a crew ready to get you in full steam. I'll see you in York. Good day, Scotsman.
Scott: Thank you, sir.
(Andrew left as Scott's new crew members arrived).
Gary: Hello, old boy. My name is Gary, I'm your new driver, and this is George, your fireman.
George: Nice to meet you, Scotsman.
Scott: Nice to meet you fellows too. You can just call me Scott.
Gary: Right, well then Scott let's get you in steam. We need to make sure you're able to be displayed for this year's Railfest.
Scott: Ok, Gary.
(The two men climbed into Scott's cab and got him in steam).
Narrator: Once he was in steam, Scott began to leave for York. Then he started to feel awful.
Scott (moaning): Oh, Gary. I'm not feeling very well.
Gary: Hmm, your pressure is dropping. What do you think is happening?
Scott (moaning): I don't know. I don't think I'm going to make it to York. I have to stop.
George: There's a siding just up ahead. We'll stop there, so we can notify the station in Doncaster.
Narrator: They arrived at the siding just in time. Scott had broken down. His boiler tubes were starting to leak.
Gary: My god, I haven't seen anything like this. How are feeling, Scott?
Scott: I don't feel well at all. I feel like something's leaking out. Can you see anything from inside my cab?
George: Sorry old boy, you won't be able to start up again at this rate. Your boiler tubes are starting to leak. We'll have to tow you to York. Just rest for now while we wait for help to arrive.
(Scott nodded as his closed his eyes and eventually fell asleep).
Narrator: While Scott was asleep, he was towed to the repair yards. It was a long journey but they were able to get him to York.
(We cut to the repair yards as Scott wakes up).
Scott: Oh. What happened?
Gary: I'm not quite sure yet. The engineers are still trying to figure it out. We didn't want to put you under until we heard what you had to say. Do you know what else is bothering you?
(Scott thought for a moment).
Scott: I'm not sure. I just feel old and worn out.
Gary: Well, I guess you'll be grateful to have some rest. We'll do the best we can to help.
Scott: I will let the engineers do what they need to do.
(The engineers began to pour the anesthetic).
Scott (feeling drowsy): Thank you, everyone.
Gary: You're welcome old boy. Now you just get some rest.
(Scott closed his eyes and fell asleep).
Narrator: The engineers worked on the Flying Scotsman for weeks. It wasn't until June, that they were able to wake him up.
(Scott begins to open his eyes and sees Gary and George).
Scott (tiredly): Hello.
Gary: Scott, how do you feel?
Scott: Really tired.
George: The engineers kept you asleep for almost a month. You needed your boiler to be completely washed out. There was a lot of boiler sludge that had to be removed. I also heard that a lot of your stay nuts had signs of overheating so those had to be replaced along with the leaky boiler tubes.
(Scott was beginning to doze off).
Gary: I think we just need to let him rest. If his stays had signs of overheating, then he must have been run ragged. He needs as much rest as he can. We still don't even know how he'll run during Railfest.
George: He'll start light duties during charter trains as the Scarborough Spa Express (SSE). Who knows, maybe that was all that was wrong and he'll be running good as new.
(They leave Scott to rest).
Narrator: Throughout the summer of 2004, Scott and his crew spent their time in and out of the works. Originally, 121 tubes were replaced, but then three days after Scott started work as the SSE, he broke down. A crosshead bearing was damaged so that was replaced. Then after five days, he broke down again. Pipework in his oil pump were defective so that had to be repaired. There were also concerns about previous repairs to the crack in his right hand cylinder. It was now September, and Scott had to be taken to the NRM's workshop for more repairs. His cousin Mallard was there.
(Scott and Mallard are both in their human form. While Scott could be described a large, overweight man; Mallard would be described as a man who used to be an NFL QB. No longer star material but still relatively fit. Mallard glares at Scott while he's lying on the couch).
Mallard: You know this is pathetic, right? To think the supposed pride of the LNER has been reduced to a has been engine on their last set of wheels.
Scott: Did you have something to say to me, Mallard? Or did you just come all this way to laugh in my face?
Mallard: I came here to tell that you that you're an embarrassment to the Gresley name. You go flouncing about and cause your owners nothing but financial problems. We all know that your 100 mph record means nothing anymore. There were plenty of other engines that were more useful than you. Quite frankly, I don't understand why you were saved to begin with.
Scott (sadly): I don't know why I was saved either. Not that it matters now. I've been in and out of the works for the past four months. This time, there's so much work to be done, that I don't know when I'll wake up once I'm put under.
Mallard: The NRM should just cut their losses and scrap the whole thing and build a new engine from scratch. They'll lose less money that way.
(Gary and George walk in).
Gary: That's enough, Mallard. If you're not here to be repaired, then leave so you don't get in anyone's way.
Mallard: Well then.
(He leaves as the two men walk up to Scott who tries to curl up on the couch).
George: Don't listen to him, Scott. The NRM would've never bought you if they didn't think you were worth it.
Scott: I know. I just want these repairs done, so I can go back to the engine I once was.
Gary: Don't worry, old boy. We'll do our best to help you.
Scott: What did they say was wrong with me this time?
George: Inner firebox, that cracked cylinder, the air brakes. You know how it is.
(Scott sighs).
Scott: How long will they make me sleep this time, gentlemen?
Gary: I'm not sure, but we'll be here when you wake up.
Scott: And I can't thank you two enough for that.
George: Come on old boy. Let's get you back to your engine. You need to go back under.
Scott: I understand. I'm nothing but thankful for the both of you being here.
Narrator: With the help of George and Gary, Scott makes it back to his engine.
Gary: Steady there. Just dream good dreams and don't let Mallard's words bother you.
Scott: I won't. Thank you. Both of you.
(The engineers walk in and began to pour the anesthetic again).
Scott: I just hope I won't develop a tolerance to this stuff.
(Scott falls asleep after a few minutes).

I came soooo close to walking out during our kitchen planning appointment (we are going between 3 studios and see who comes up with the best plan at the best cost).
This man… he acted like we were doing something taboo by shopping around for a kitchen instead of just staying with him. So I asked him, „when you buy a car, do you work with only one dealer?“ He didn’t answer.
AND THEN
This man fought me on every structural aspect I wanted because it didn’t fit his vision. I wanted tall hanging cabinets, and he asks why „because it’s not like you can reach them.“ Bitch, have you not heard of a stepping stool? That storage is next to godliness?
But you know what he wanted to sell me? Something he claims that every serious cook must have, and if I‘m a serious cook then I‘ll see the benefits. It’s a faucet that can pour out boiling water. What the fuck? How is that necessary? An induction stove needs minutes. A water boiler… seconds to a minute?? I‘m sure there are benefits but I wouldn’t say that makes any difference when cooking.
#needless to say we aren’t moving forward with this studio#it takes so much for me to act impolite#but after the third useless product#I eventually just said this was perhaps a waste of time

Boiler and Central Heating Replacement Quotes/Prices Near Me: A 2024 Guide
If you’re considering replacing your boiler or central heating system, finding accurate and competitive quotes can make a significant difference in the overall cost and quality of the job. Whether your old system is breaking down or you're looking to upgrade to a more energy-efficient model, this guide will help you understand what to expect when searching for boiler and central heating replacement quotes in 2024. At Smart Heating Hub Ltd, we specialize in providing top-tier heating solutions at affordable prices, ensuring you get the best value for your money.
Why Replace Your Boiler and Central Heating System?
Over time, boilers and central heating systems become less efficient, increasing energy bills and causing potential safety concerns. Replacing your old system with a modern, energy-efficient model can save you money in the long run and ensure your home remains comfortable all year round. The cost of upgrading will vary depending on several factors, but investing in a high-quality boiler and heating system can pay off with lower energy bills and reduced maintenance needs.
How Much Does Boiler and Central Heating Replacement Cost in 2024?
The cost of replacing a boiler and central heating system in 2024 can vary based on several factors, including the size of your home, the type of system you need, and your location. Here’s a breakdown of average costs to expect:
Boiler Replacement Cost:
Standard Boiler Replacement: £1,000 to £2,500, depending on the brand, model, and installation complexity.
Combi Boiler Replacement: £1,500 to £3,000, especially if additional work is needed to upgrade your system to accommodate a combi boiler.
Central Heating System Replacement Cost:
A full central heating system replacement (including a new boiler, radiators, and piping) can range from £3,000 to £7,000. Larger homes with more rooms and bathrooms will typically require more radiators and a larger boiler, pushing up the overall cost.
Additional Costs:
Installation Fees: £500 to £1,500, depending on the complexity of the job and the hourly rate of the installer.
Smart Thermostat Integration: If you want to add a smart thermostat, expect to pay an additional £150 to £300.
At Smart Heating Hub Ltd, we aim to provide the most competitive quotes for your boiler and central heating replacement. We offer transparent pricing with no hidden fees, and we can help you choose a system that fits your budget and heating needs.
Factors That Influence Replacement Costs
Type of Boiler: Combi boilers are typically more affordable to install but may not be suitable for larger homes. Conventional and system boilers tend to be more expensive but offer greater heating capabilities for bigger households.
System Size: Larger homes need more powerful boilers and additional radiators, which increases both the equipment and installation costs.
Installation Complexity: If your existing system is outdated or if you’re switching to a different type of boiler, the installation process may involve additional work such as re-piping, which increases labor costs.
Location: Installation prices can vary based on your location. Installers in larger cities may charge more than those in smaller towns.

unfinished farming game rant
getting progressively more and more annoyed at my failure to find a farming game with the autistic attention to detail of something like Factorio and its modding scene
farming seems to fall under one of two paths: the first one is the rural version of racing's rFactor 2 or, being kind to it, Gran Turismo; a gorgeous to look at virtual world that prides itself on realism, and at its best it will have the design and immerse you in that virtual world completely; simulation at its finest
unfortunately, it tends to be just a bunch of brands that make it selling point (real supercars you can't buy! tractors from every licensed brand under the sun!) to an audience devoted to jacking off to leather seats
the other path is the one which is Harvest Moon Again; it's functionally adapting the mechanics from Tokimeki Memorial and every game that followed in its wake into a small, consistent, repeatable series of actions that don't require a ton of complexity; the game is one part small, routine minigames, one part visual novel
both of these are fine experiences - Stardew Valley is lovely and I 100% believe the soothing effect of a Farming Simulator, but still not quite what I look for, and the autism of the Factorio modding scene has yet to divert towards biology
and while Strange Loop Games' Eco has the sufficient level of autism as far as ecosystem management, but it's also a life simulator; due to the game not having any PvP and the inability of a player to specialize in everything, it turns into the kind of game that veers into the same problems of MMORPGs; I'm sure I'd love this game as an option, but I feel it presents kind of danger for me as EVE does
the fundamental gist of the game that I want here is pretty much some degree of supply chain management (the gist of games like the already aforementioned Factorio) with thematics and mechanics centered around farming and the required infrastructure; whether that's wells, pumps and waterworks, the housing for processing whatever you harvest, or just the area of harvesting itself, we can have something in that vein
I mean what's the capstone cycle of early game Factorio, when the game slams headfirst into a difficulty spike wall? acquire copper, iron and coal through electric mining; the coal is then split into two paths, which are feeding the giant boilers that fuel everything and being used as the fuel for the first level processing of copper ore and iron ore; which then are processed in a number of ways and eventually turn into the two main research beakers (automation and logistics) to progress on the tech tree, and keeping a surplus for whatever other things you need (mostly the tower defense aspect)
this sort of gameplay loop can 100% be brought to a farm system; accounting for hydration, for light, for fertilization, the harvesting itself could be automated, etc
with these games, expansion is largely done via tech tree, but we could borrow a leaf from a completely different game - Prison Architect - which structures its short term missions as grants and uses that to fuel its own tech tree and limit to expansion - to push it in that direction
IDK, just spitballing here (for now!)

Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees x Reader (Separately) || Drabbles
Plot: A second (Or… 4th and 5th?) part to The one where Jasons and Freddy’s S/O’s buy presents for the other Slasher. In these ones they give the presents ^^ @disney-android-foundation wanted to see this! ^^ I hope you like it!
Warning: Again- Freddy’s gifts. But its really really not that bad 😅 XD Its just very fluffy.
Freddy Krueger:
You manage to concentrate really really hard, and will the sweater (The red and green one) that you decided to wear to bed away into a regular old t-shirt just before Freddy starts sniffing around you. That can wait. First you’ll give him the mug and the pen.
“Hmm, I sense something’s… different, with you~ What is it?” Freddy still notice that something is different, of course- you’re only just learning ow to manipulate your dreams. He’s the master.
“Hey- doya wanna inspect me or do you want a present?”
“Oh, tough choice, but… “ Immediately his eyes light up, growing larger in his face at the thought of a present. He looks you over, searching for it, but you’ve got the box set around a corner in the old boiler room. Cautiously, he sizes you up; Raising a brow. “… a present? For me?”
“Make your choice, first.” You demand, smirking.
“Well, since you put it like that… “While you eye him, he gets down on the ground and crosses his legs. “I’ll take the present now. I’ll take you, to go~”
That’s… more likely than he even knows, you think, rolling your eyes- a common tell that you’re flustered by him that he absolutely loves seeing. That he revels in. That he actively works towards achieving, as much as he can. It makes him grin up at you, craning his neck to see you from beneath the brim of his old hat. “Hm, okay! Good choice- Close your eyes.”
That makes him grin, doing as told. “Alright... ”
Quickly you go and get the box, before sitting down right in front of him; Crossing your legs just the same. “Okay, open up.” When his eyes land on the box they light up again, and that makes you smile as he takes it from you. “This is part one of the present.”
“Hmmm… “ The hum is a low rumble from the back of his throat, a mischievous grin on his mouth as he plays at lifting the lid off the box with one of the knives on his glove. “There’s multiple presents?... “
“Kiinda… “
“Damn, and I didn’t get you anything. Well, I’m sure I can come up with some kinda consolation for ya… “
Shaking your head, another sign that he’s flustered you that pleases him to no end, you tap the box in his lap. ”I’m sure you can- just open the box!”
At this he holds up a knife finger, like ‘oh! Just a moment’, then uses his good hand to pull the lid off. While he’s pulling out the mug, a curious expression very similar to your own when you first saw it on his face as he inspects it, you close your eyes and concentrate hard again- Conjuring a small kettle of boiling hot water next to you. When you peak your eyes open again and see that it worked!!, you excitedly pick it up and gesture with it to him. “Hold it out!”
“Ohhh, its one’a those, huh??” He sounds normal, calm, with a hint of mischief I his tone as he holds the mug out for you to carefully poor the hot water into- but you can tell as he watches carefully that he’s beyond intrigued. “Cool.”
Once the mug is as full as you’re willing to fill it and the kettle disappears into nothingness again, Freddy takes the mug closer to his face to watch for any sign of a picture and you cover your face. Ahhhh this is so embarrassing…
After a few moments… he busts out laughing. The sound reverberates loudly around in the dirty boiler room and you keep your face hidden, even when that glove makes contact with your knee. “Y/N!! This is the best mug I ever got!”
“… I’m glad you like it… the pen in the box does the same thing, just click it and the girl loses her clothes… “
“Really??” You peak out from behind your hands to catch Freddy digging back into the box to retrieve the pen. You take the mug for him, since he’s only got one hand, glancing at the picture momentarily. Oh, god. You think, looking back at him again as he clicks the pen on and off and on and off and on and off like a damn child.
“… Its silly.”
He shakes his head, tearing his eyes away from the pen to his S/O with that gross mug and grinning from ear to ear; Pointing at you with a knife finger. “These- are the best presents I’ve ever gotten.”
… that makes you feel good. Even while you hold the stupidest mug you have ever seen and certainly don’t like, a warm beam spreads across your face. All you wanted was to make him happy- and it worked! “Really?”
He moves to sit beside you, stretching his legs out in front of you both. Turning your head, you come face-to-face with him, he’s sitting so close now. “Tell you what, doll- I think I owe you a little something, now.”
“… “A smirk slips across your face, then. “Actually- that brings us to part 2 of your present.”
A matching smirk is on his face. “… what’s that?”
Taking a deep breath, you let your plain t-shit return to the red and green sweater you’re wearing before his eyes. The sleeves reach farther then your fingers and you hold your arms out at your sides, awkwardly. “Ta da?~ ”
… He actually growls. “… I was wrong. Those weren’t the best presents I ever got, not by a landslide.”
Welp-
Jason Voorhees:
“Okay, Jason!” Holding the bag behind your back, you appear in the doorway to the cabin while he stands in the clearing just outside- chopping wood. He stops and looks up, though, when you call for him; Tilting his head to the side.
You gesture for him to come in after you with a head nod, and disappear into the cabin.
After a moment you hear a thud outside, the axe he was using to chop the wood hitting the floor unceremoniously, before he comes in to find you sat on his mucky old bed. Quickly, excitedly, you pop back up again to your feet and gesture for him to sit down, instead. “Sit, sit!” As he follows your instruction, confused by your sudden excitement and curious why, you pat his broad shoulders and then hop back a few feet- the bag once again held behind your back.
“So- its present time.” Again he tilts his head, which is just fine with you- you cant get enough of Jason’s head tilts. “This bag, that I have very subtly hidden behind my back here… “Jason gives you a deadpanned look, here. Because it is very obviously hanging between your legs. “Yeah yeah- it contains a gift for you!- My lovely Jason, who I love so very much, and deserves a lovely gift.”
The behemoth of a man you love, the not-so-gentle giant of Crystal Lake, Mrs Voorhees sweet son- his good eye widens behind his mask, surprised at this show of good will. Well, he knows you care about him because you keep showing up!... but he’s never not shocked about it.
… It’s a good thing you live to shock.
“So… here!” You pull the bag out from behind your back and hold it out straight towards him. He takes it carefully by the handles, handling it delicately as he holds it between his thighs and opens it up to see inside. While he looks inside and takes his time to register everything happening, you plop down on the bed just beside him- peering into the bag over his shoulder.
When he reaches in and pulls the teddy bear out of the bag, dressed as him, a huge grin spreads across your face. He drops the bag on the ground in order to hold the mini-him in both hands and stare at it for a bit. “… yes, its you. And I am so jealous of you both- you and the bear.”
Slowly he looks across to the side, to you, an unreadable emotion in his pretty eyes. You hold yourself up straight by pushing at the mattress on the either side of you, and tilt your head; Voice gentle. Just between the two of you. “… Doya like it?”
Giving a slow, purposeful nod, Jason admits he does. He loves it. Then he turns with the bear to hid old teddy set up against his pillow. You peer around him as he sits his new mini-me beside that one, touches them both on the head, and then turns to you. He holds up a finger, like hold on just a minute.
“I’ll be here.” You smile, positively saying love you with your eyes. Absolute heart eyes.
The bed whines as he gets up and again and leaves the cabin. You turn over your shoulder and gaze at the two teddy bears while you wait- it occurs to you that this man has two precious possessions in his life, and one was given to him by his mother and one by you. So you turn to Pamela’s head, which doesn’t gross you out nearly as much as it did once upon a time.
I’m taking care of him for you, Ma’am.
When Jason gets back, not 2 minutes after he left, he takes his seat back and angles his knees towards you- and hands you a little something. “Oh- for me??”
Yes, he nods.
In your hands now is a little wood carving of a (Favourite Animal). “Oh, Jason, its- I love this. You made this?? It’s amazing. Thank you… ” While you look at it, Jason reaches to your hands again and guides you turn the animal over.
On the bottom, the words ‘For Y/N’ are carved carefully into the wood. The smile slips completely off your face- you cant take your eyes off the words.
Jason cant speak, so he’s never actually said your name… you didn’t realise how odd that felt until right this moment. Afterall, had he even remembered it? Were you a nameless thing to him?? It wouldn’t have mattered if he hadn’t, your feelings kinda transcend names… but the fact that he does actually know it, hits you. The fact that he figured out how to spell it, despite not even finishing the first year of middle school, and took the care to carve it so neatly into your little (Favourite Animal)…
God, you’re not a hugely sentimental person, but you feel like you’re going to explode right now.
“I- I… “Taking in a deep breath through your nose, you tear your eyes away from the carving and to Jason. “Jason- Jason, I’m gonna need to kiss you, for this.”
His shoulders jump in a silent chuckle, before pulling his mask down with one hand and covering his brand new teddy bear’s eyes with the other- and leans over to you. You throw your arms around his neck and press your lips against his.

(I have posted about this on @official-nature-posts before but asking you specifically. So when I remembered that Japanese indigo is a persicaria, I wondered if my local Persicaria Decipiens would work. I could see some blue hints just crushing it up which is good, best seen in the blurry photo. I plan on doing fresh leaf dyeing first, but I have been reading up about small scale indigo vats which id like to know if you know much about them? I don’t want to have to buy chemicals.I know that they need an alkali (I can wood ash lye or even calcium hydroxide at a pinch by heating up ashes a lot) a reducing agent ( fructose, I saw one blog that was using boiled orange peels and also trying pectin.) and of course the indigo source. Do you know how the reducing agents work. I will wait a while for it to warm up so the plants start growing again because they get knocked about by frost each year. Also hopefully going to grow some Japanese indigo.
Ooh, cool! I've gotten to try indigo dyeing on a course once, and one of my friends there showed how to make an organic dye vat, Michel Garcia's style (you can find his tutorials on youtube too!). Both were made with ready indigo powder, though. Let's check my notes first, then I'll talk about the plants. Prepare for a long read!
Chemical dye process
For reference, the normal chemical process went like this: we used 10% WOF (weight of fibre) sodium hydroxide to get a high (10-11) pH to help extract the dye. Temperature should be 40-50⁰C., and the extraction time was 40 minutes. For the reduction, we used sodium dithionate 60% WOF at 55⁰C (no higher, it wastes some dye), and pH was 8-9. At that step we had to leave the room for 30 minutes because it's toxic to let it settle. A tip for controlling the temperature: use a double boiler. After the 30 minutes, it looked like this:
A pretty metallic sheen on the surface and an "indigo flower" bubble in the middle had formed! Underneath the mixture was a yellowish green.
For dyeing, dip it 1-10 minutes, try not to get air mixed into the dye bath. We used a parsley boiling kettle with its basket to dip the fibers in! Presoaking in water also helps the dye absorb more evenly. Pulling it out is magical, as it oxidized it turns from green to blue! Then rinse with vinegar and water and continue rinsing with water.
Organic vat method
This method can be done in smaller scale! It works like this:
Ingredients:
1 part indigo powder
2 parts calcium hydroxide (pickling lime) for alkaline agent
3 parts food-grade fructose or any other natural reducing agent (henna, oignon, very ripe fruits or an old madder dye vat are some suggestions!)
The indigo powder was dissolved into a bit of water first by putting it into a plastic box with some marbles and shaking it around to form a smooth paste.
For the reducing agent, the fructose was simply dissolved into 7-8 liters of water. If using henna (Lausaunia Inermis), prepare a "decoction" by putting the extract in cold water and boil till the powder remains in the bottom, then filter through a cloth and let cool to 50-70⁰C.
Then the indigo paste was added to the reducing agent. Probably let this sit for 40 minutes too?
For the alkaline agent, also don't breathe or touch with bare hands. Dissolve the calcium hydroxide in warm water and add that mixture into the indigo dye vat, carefully pouring it along the container wall to avoid getting air mixed in. Stir three times, creating a vortex. It should turn green, and look like the picture above with a metallic surface and blue bubbles. Then cover the vat tightly and let sit for 12-24 hours for the indigo to dissolve and reduce. Then carefully stir it and check the pH. Adjust it if needed:
For wool, pH 10 and temp 40-45⁰C.
For silk, pH 11 and no heating necessary.
For celluloce fibers like cotton/linen, pH 12 or higher and no heating necessary.
Dyeing: With presoaked fibers, dip for 30 minutes. Press the fibers against the wall of the container to avoid getting air = oxygen into the dye bath. At this point, it should look green.
Then the dye needs to be oxidized. To do this, remove the fibers from the dye vat, gently wring excess dye out, and push it in and out of cold water, opening any folds as you do. After the colour stabilizes into blue, hang it to dry for 30 minutes.
For best results, repeat this dyeing process two more times. If you want darker, extend the dipping and drying time on the second and third dye round to 1 hour and 1.5 hours.
When using fresh plants, I think you can extract the dye first and then use the extracted and filtered solution (or paste, if you use a lot of leaves and dehydrate it a bit) as a base for the fructose step. More on the extraction later.
Indigo compounds in plants
I'm not familiar with the plant you mention, so I don't know if it's as good as the indigo plant, Persicaria Tinctoria. I think you should still try, as crushing the leaves shows blues thing is very engouraging. I bet you'd at least get nice greens or greenish yellows if not even turquoise or blue!
Indigo is a category of many dye chemicals, and P. Tinctoria contains (among others) indirubin, which is the red indigoid chemical that makes indigo a more dark purple kind of blue. We have another plant, Isatis Tinctoria (common name woad, morsinko in Finnish), growing here, and it's also cultivated for indigo, but it doesn't have indirubin, hence the colour it gives is a bit cooler blue. So be aware that the shades you get might be different from what you're used to seeing as indigo! Also with our I. Tinctoria I remember reading that it's recommended to pick the leaves when they're young and keep them intact for best dyeing results. Though it depends on the method.
Indigo as a compound is not water-soluble, so that's why we need to reduce = remove the oxygen from the dye bath, so that it can turn into its precursor, that is water-soluble. The precursors are sensitive to light and oxygen during the process, so it can be tricky to get it to work. In the dye process the precursor sticks to the fibers, makes it green, and when it oxidizes in the air, it turns to indigo = blue.
Also in some traditions the leaves have been fermented first, and then used in the dye vat – that might be interesting to look into! Fermentation is also a way to reduce a vat, as the yeast and bacteria use up the oxygen in the fermentation process. Here's some reading on the traditional dyeing methods with I. Tinctoria that Outi, a natural dyer from Finland, recommended:
"A treatise on the culture, preparation, history, and analysis of pastel, or woad : the different methods of extracting the coloring matter, and the manner of using it, and indigo, in dyeing" (Lasteyrie, Dearborn 1816)
"The woad plant and its dye" (Hurry 1930)
Extracting from plants
I don't have any personal experience about this, but I'm going off of this finnish blog post on dyeing with I. Tinctoria, that I think should work very similarly. Her reasoning was that high heat and oxygen destroy the precursors of indigo, but high heat breaks the cells of the plants to allow for the dye compounds to dissolve into the water, so she put the plant leaves into boiling water and then put cold water on top soon to drop the temperature to around 50⁰C. (Also with the same reasoning, if you need to rinse the plants, use cold water). The leaves turned yellow in the 20 minutes they brewed, after that her steps were:
Remove the leaves
Add soda ash (50 grams, vat pH now 11)
Whisk for 20 minutes to add oxygen (at this step it should be more blueish, keep whisking until the bubbles turn pale, though hers was green) (I'm not convinced if this step is good)
Add 40 grams of a stain remover that contains sodium dithionate to reduce and leave for an hour
Peel the metallic surface and dye!
Wow, that was long. I find indigo dyeing super fascinating so it was fun to research it again! I hope some of this is useful to you!

Mental health care for engines is non existent due to the nature of machines not having much in terms of “organic biology” to them. Because of this, it was really hard to help Oliver when he first arrived as he started experiencing PTSD from his escape, his crew tried their best to help him and tried all the tricks that other drivers suggested, these include:
-keeping the fire low to induce sleepiness
-rapidly build up a fire and then douse it and release all steam at once
-keeping the safety valve open
-spinning on the turntable
-pouring alcohol into the boiler (yes, this was suggested but never tried because no one knows if an engine can get drunk and they weren’t going to risk it)
-adding a bottle of sleeping pills in either the boiler or the firebox (still disputed on the effects)
-burning tobacco
-hyperventilating in a paper bag
-heavy shunting
-and rubbing an amethyst and rose quartz crystal on him doused with lavender oil. Not something the drivers suggested, it was a passenger, they said that Oliver’s drivers can buy the remedy from them for only 50 pounds….
They were not going to spend that much on two sparkly pebbles and a bottle of perfume….
