Hi.
So here are the 24 things that happened to me or what I learned this 2024. This might be a little longer than what I usually write, or not, I don’t know yet, we’ll see how the list goes.
25th birthday. Booked an airbnb so I can host a heartwarming dinner for my friends. Theme: pajamas! (After that weekend, I realized how much I loved planning—so capricorn of me lol). It is a tiny party but full of love.
Galentine’s day. Another hosting event, this time in a restaurant called Single Origin, went from coffee to cocktail hour real quick! Spending a girls day with your family (my titas & cousins) on Valentine’s day was a breath of fresh air.
Korea. My fourth out of the country travel with my boyfriend (at that time—my fiancé now), & this time with his entire family. Loved every moment, and we took our time, not stressing if we follow itinerary or not, just taking our time.
Digicam era. Never seen myself as someone who has a camera on hand 24/7 (I swear, sometimes you’ll never know.), but here I am on my second one.
Thailand. Fifth country. Let’s just say we did things that we’re never allowed to tell. What we did told our parents though: elephant sanctuary (my favorite ever, if you’ve been here a long time, you know how much I resonate with them and how much I love them), & bike tour (where my bike obsession started.)
My first ever bike, Tangerine the Liv. We’ve been through ups & downs this year but let me just thank my body for being healthy, for my two legs so I could pedal my problems away. More miles to go!
Pilates. Went back to my first love! The first ever workout that worked wonders for me & still is. Stopped for quite a while, tried lifting (gym membership) & others, but pilates just always makes me calm & steady.
Siargao. 3rd time to go back in the span of 10months, but this time with my favorite cousin. Along with one of my highschool friends (who lives in NY for years now) & his girlfriend (who, I can say one of the unexpected friendship this year, definitely a girl I can trust with my life). Also, this is the place where I learned that I have fear of heights now, yes the girl who loved riding roller coaster, anchor’s away, & such is a scaredy cat now, wouldn’t even jump on a cliff even if I’ve tried it so many times. But I guess it just happens.
New nephew. He is not here just yet, but a little birdie (his mom) told me he’s also a capricorn—like me and his mom! Can’t wait to see you little nuggie.
Computer games. Now this isn’t new, just want to include that I’m still doing it. Especially since this is the only outlet that me & my best friends ran to, on days we miss each other & on days we just want to escape reality.
Discord. Again, this is for me & my best friends. We cried, we laughed, we hung out, we drank on this app.
Promotion. Started this year with a promotion at my work, didn’t even know I needed that change of pace but somehow even if I have so much responsibilities now, it was easier for me to have that work-life balance. I never mention anything about work, but this time let me just be grateful.
Books. Okay now this is bullshit, because I think I never even finished one? I did bought more though, but that’s okay, still a hobby, it’s a process haha. Biggest compliment I ever received from my dad though, “Kim, can I borrow one of your books, it seems interesting.”
Church. Since I want this to be an honest post, let me just say that having a relationship with Our Savior is still a bit rocky. I think it’s hard to have a conversation with someone intangible, but still there’s something beautiful in it, believing in something you choose, having faith even on hard days. There were days where I cuss everyone out, I’m not proud but believe me karma kicked me in the butt this year or the previous years, no need to be mean. But yes, I pray, I go to church (rarely, I could count them in my fingers), that’s life. Can’t even explain it, but I need to pray some more.
I’m a fiancé now. It was beautiful, we went back to the place where it all started. Still can’t believe how I can love someone this much. Wedding planning is a trust the process kinda thing, and this year I learned to just stick with the plan and not care what anybody thinks.
New apartment. I live with my fiancé, his’ best friend (with his girlfriend). I’m at peace now, I now have a home. But it’s far from my family and friends, sometimes it gets lonely, but I’ll get used to it as per usual.
Greenvalley pawtel. Finally made our pet hotel come to life this year, all thanks for my dad’s passion with animals & my mom’s hard work, they made it happen, I was just the inspiration and the little push.
GNX. Uhm hello? Kendrick Lamar releasing an album out of nowhere, no promo, no post, no anything what the fuck? A blessing indeed. Also, the kdot & drake feud, listened to diss tracks for unhealthy amount of time, I’m not even joking. I need Kendrick’s fuel to get through anything lol (also, y’all thought i was crazy whenever i skip drake songs since the beginning of time & it took a while but the reason came out now haha all in the gut people, I have the intuitive energy believe me). Lana—SOS deluxe. Sza, my girl, thank you for your energy. Also thanks to my fiancé for understanding that listening to this album comes with emotions, I can sing this freaking album like I’m hurt as fuck but happily engaged still haha. (Counting these two as one ok)
My high school friend’s Jollibee birthday party. Haven’t been to a kiddie themed birthday party because we’re titas and titos now, I’m just happy I get to celebrate with my friends who I haven’t seen for a long time. My old self wouldn’t join the games, but my shy self went in front of the crowd anyway (& I actually enjoyed it), I don’t even know why I was shy in the first place.
Buying things and actually using it. Now this, I’m proud of. I grew up using a lot of hand me downs as toys, clothes, gadgets, etc. so I’ve adapted this habit that whenever I buy/receive new gift, I don’t use it UNLESS it is a special day. And now I’m slowly practicing to remove that habit and replace it with a positive outlook—life is short, use that freaking shoes!
Feminine side. Growing up with brothers, hanging out with guy friends really sticks with you and so I think I leaned more to my masculine side. How I dress, my hobbies, everything revolved around that side, really thought that was me not until I discovered (out of nowhere) that there is more to it. I tried experimenting more this year, consistent manicure pedicure, hair laser removal, eyebrow wax, & eyelash perm, consistent hair trim (and tried different styles & colors), and its such a wonderful experience. Experimented on dress styles, as well as posting OOTD and selfies whenever I feel cute or whenever I feel like it. Being a girl is just something beautiful.
Speak up. No explanation needed I guess, just learned that if your thoughts are loud, you have to release those words, no matter how hard. But still, learning when and how you say it is such a powerful gift, please use it mindfully.
Being silent. Yes, the opposite of what I just said. It’s not an opponent, it’s something you embrace. Sometimes words just not come out much, or sometimes it does—but they don’t deserve it. They don’t deserve your thoughts, a piece of you, don’t send it. Delete that draft. Just don’t.
Be still. Patience is what I learned this year, and what I’ve been learning the past few years, probably what I would learn again next year, and next life. Yes, hard work gives result, but please, let’s be honest, sometimes if it doesn’t come your way, accept that it’s not for you. It is a hard pill to swallow, I know, believe me, but you have to let it go. Trust delayed gratification. You will never miss out on what’s truly meant for you, so please be still and have faith, pray some more and wait.
I guess that’s it, honestly I planned on putting photos and I feel like I have more but this’ll do for now. Took me two days to finish this, when I was certain I wouldn’t be able to. Surprised myself that beautiful words will still come out of me, I just have to try. If you sticked around, thank you. I hope everyone gets good karma this year, I’m done with the hate, I’ll try to be more mindful with what I attract, we only deserve the energy that brings out the best in us.
Happy new year!

6 Essential International Travel Tips for First-Time Adventurers By Namrata Hinduja
No matter how much you’ve traveled in your own country, planning your first trip abroad can be exciting and also little overwhelming. At Go Overseas, we’ve been traveling the world for years and still pick up new tips and tricks along the way.
Exploring a brand-new place might seem scary or confusing at first, but it doesn’t have to be! Follow these simple tips to prepare for international travel and make your trip stress-free and enjoyable.
Prepare your travel documents
The first and one the most crucial tip to avoid stress is to apply for your passport early and check its validity. Many countries require your passport to have at least six months of validity and enough blank pages for entry. If your passport is close to expiring, renew it before booking your flights, as delays in processing can create disrupt in your plans. Also, research whether you need a visa, as some countries won’t allow you to enter without one. While US and UK passport holders can often travel visa-free or get a visa on arrival, rules vary, so always double-check entry requirements.
Research about your destination
Take time to research your destination to make your trip smoother and more enjoyable. While traveling spontaneously might sound fun, knowing a bit about the country’s culture, language, and laws can help you avoid surprises. For example, chewing gum is banned in Singapore, feeding pigeons is illegal in Venice, and riding a cow while drunk is against the law in Scotland! Every country has its own unique rules that might seem unusual to outsiders, but understanding them beforehand will help you respect local customs and stay out of trouble.
Questions to research about the country you're visiting
• What is the local currency? • Can you drink the tap water? • What is the dominant religion and are there rules around clothing modesty? • How catered to tourism is your destination? Are accommodations for tourists widely available? • What is the country's main language? How widely is English spoken? • Does the local food align with your dietary requirements? • Do traffic laws in this location differ from your home country?
Address money matters
Before heading off to your faraway destination, make sure to let your bank know about your travel plans. This way, they won’t think your card is being used fraudulently when it suddenly pops up at a market in Thailand!
In some destinations, ATMs might not be easy to find, and many cash-based countries don’t accept cards at most restaurants or shops. If that’s the case, make sure to carry enough cash for your daily expenses. Some travelers like to use a money belt to keep larger amounts safe while exploring.
Book everything in advance
If you’re sure about your travel plans, it’s best to book your trip as soon as you’re ready. While last-minute flexibility might sound exciting, you could face limited options or high prices for accommodations if you wait too long. Many last-minute travelers end up scrambling to find a place to stay, which can be stressful and expensive. The same goes for transport tickets—you’ll often get better deals by booking early. Planning your itinerary in advance not only saves money but also gives you peace of mind, letting you focus on enjoying your trip without worrying about what’s next.
prioritize your safety and health
While it’s not helpful to worry too much about what could go wrong, staying aware of your surroundings and taking simple safety precautions will help you enjoy your adventure to the fullest.
Safety tips to follow while abroad
• Keep your belongings safe from pickpockets by using a crossbody bag or fanny pack. These are great for storing your phone and wallet securely. Avoid keeping valuables in your back pocket or the outside of your backpack! If you're extra worried, consider using a money belt under your clothes or a theft-proof wallet for added security.
• Stay connected by sharing your travel plans with friends and family before you go, including your accommodation details and contact information. If you're from the US, consider signing up for the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) with the U.S. State Department. This way, the local U.S. Embassy can reach out to you in case of emergencies like natural disasters or political issues.
• Consider getting travel insurance as an essential part of your trip preparation. It can help cover unexpected costs like emergency evacuations or lost luggage, saving you money if something goes wrong. You can find travel insurance and other helpful items on GO’s nomad essentials page!
• Use your common sense while traveling. Ask locals or hotel staff about areas to avoid. It's a good idea to travel with a buddy at night, and if you're going out, don't drink too much, especially if you're alone or with people you don't trust. If you use apps to meet new people, you always meet in public places. Most importantly, trust your instincts—if something or someone feels off, listen to that feeling!
Pack appropriately
Packing smartly can make your trip much easier. Avoid overpacking or leaving things disorganized. Use packing cubes to keep your clothes neat and save space—they're cheap and super helpful. Pack light but remember to bring clothes for different weather conditions. A heavy bag can be a hassle, especially in places without elevators. If you're worried about running out of clean clothes, use a laundry service or buy new clothes as souvenirs. For safety, lock your bags, keep valuables like electronics in your carry-on, and store important items in your room safe or hostel locker.
Conclusion
Although making a list of things to do before your first international trip might seem like a lot of work, it will make your journey much better! Plan ahead, get travel insurance, and use packing cubes to stay organized. Remember, it's better to enjoy your trip slowly and focus on quality rather than rushing through it. By being prepared, you'll have an amazing experience and will likely be excited to travel more in the future!

First Time Traveling in Thailand
This is actually my very first time traveling to a different country. And as it turns out, like everything you experience for the first time, it is overwhelming as hell! From the preparation to going to the airport, to figuring out which characters say "Men" in the restroom. (Thank heavens for the invention of icons!)🧍♂️
Despite that, it was one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life. My wife and I had the most fulfilling adventure that improved our perspective on the world, our personal capabilities, and our spiritual growth. In this blog, I want to share how we planned our first trip to Thailand.
Preparation
Most of the successes¹ that we experienced on our trip were because of my wife’s organisational skills in seriously taking the time to research, plan and endlessly evaluate. We have designed our trip 8 months before the actual flight. My wife always wanted to go to another country to explore and for other reasons. (*cough* bragging rights *cough*)
Anyway, yes. For 8 months of preparation, we kept our finances in check, set goals on our bank accounts², and planned the routes of the places were going. no agencies, no internal connections. Just plain YouTube videos and Facebook Groups in DIY Travel Communities.
Because of this preparation phase, we have enjoyed our travel to the fullest, without looking like the wandering idiots that we already are. It was just pack, airport, immigration, plane, train and then boom! 🇹🇭You’re in the hotel as if you already know the country. No asking obvious questions that’ll embarrass you, no checking on the phone what to say nor what to do, and no first-time experience anxiety. Which was kind of weird, to be honest, it was that smooth.
The Trip
The trip went flawlessly as long as you took the time and effort to plan things out in your itinerary. Although you don’t need to follow it chronologically (if you’re on a DIY travel plan), just think of it as a checklist for you to use to find the most efficient way to get things done. Most of the time, we managed to tick off almost everything on the Day 1 itinerary, allowing us to jump into Day 2 activities.
The only struggle for us was knowing the difference between fair pricing for a tuk-tuk ride. We were aware that there are many scammers in Thailand, as in all other tourist places in the world. So, we used the Grab app and then bargained our way there. For example, if a Grab Car ride costs 100฿ Baht from point A to point B, we would negotiate with the tuk-tuk driver for 70฿ or 80฿ Baht. It didn’t work every time, but at least we knew what the fair price was.
Conclusions
I really enjoyed this trip, and it actually inspired me to save more money for future travels. I’m grateful for the long preparation my wife did just to make this adventure of a lifetime happen. It wasn’t easy, and boy, was it tedious. But it allowed me to enjoy my time on the journey, not waste myself wandering and being frustrated, and ending up lost.
In fact, we were so organized in our plan that we took the time to learn the language, understand the culture, genuinely taste the food and not just "eat it," and spend time becoming one of the people, not just tourists. The best part was having extra money in our budget because we realized we didn’t have to spend as much as we thought.
Things will try to get in your way of making it happen³—unexpected health issues, financial crises, not getting approved by immigration, or even just being unlucky. But if you’re immensely determined and plan things out, it will come together as if it was meant to be.
Kap Khun Krap
You can check the itinerary here if you want to plan your own travel. It has all the details you need.
¹not getting offloaded, lost, scammed, buying the right food and not overspending from the budget are considered successes for us.
²(and by setting goals on our bank accounts I mean consistently putting money and not just putting a one-time big cash in the bank statement. - when the immigration office gets a chance to see that, they might be sceptical of the sudden change and may lead you offloaded.)
³That's why I recommend building an emergency fund first. It'll be even better if you have life insurance and health insurance. And yes, that was also part of our planning.

How to Make Solo Travel Plans: A Complete Guide for Adventurous Travelers
Solo travel is one of the most rewarding and transformative experiences one can embark on. Whether you're seeking personal growth, cultural immersion, or simply the freedom to explore at your own pace, traveling alone offers unmatched flexibility. However, to ensure that your solo trip goes smoothly, it’s important to make thorough plans. In this guide, we'll walk you through how to make solo travel plans, with helpful tips and resources to get you started.
1. Choose Your Destination Wisely
Choosing the right destination is key to having a successful solo trip. When traveling alone, you’ll want to pick a place that is not only safe but also offers experiences that align with your interests.
Safety: Research the safety ratings of your destination and choose areas that are known for being solo traveler-friendly. Websites like the U.S. Department of State or travel blogs can provide real-time safety information and tips.
Budget: Solo travel can be expensive, especially in popular tourist spots. Look for destinations that offer good value for money and have affordable accommodation options, public transport, and local experiences.
Accessibility: Consider how easy it is to get to and around your destination. Solo travelers often appreciate destinations with good public transportation systems, reliable taxi services, and walkable neighborhoods.
Some popular solo travel destinations for first-timers include Thailand, Japan, Iceland, and Portugal, but the possibilities are endless.
2. Set Your Travel Dates and Duration
After deciding where you want to go, the next step is to determine your travel dates. This will help you find flights, book accommodations, and plan activities more efficiently.
Check for Off-Peak Seasons: Traveling during the off-peak seasons can save you money on flights and accommodation. Off-peak seasons also tend to be less crowded, allowing you to enjoy a more relaxed and intimate travel experience.
Duration of Stay: Decide how long you plan to stay at each destination. Solo travel can be flexible, but having a rough itinerary will help you make the most out of your time without feeling rushed.
3. Book Your Flights and Accommodation
Booking your flight and accommodation in advance can make your solo trip easier and more affordable.
Flights: Use online travel agencies like Yatra to search for the best deals on flights. Yatra often offers discounted rates, special promotions, and the ability to compare multiple airlines to find the most cost-effective options.
Accommodation: When traveling alone, you'll want to choose safe and comfortable places to stay. You can opt for hotels, hostels, or even Airbnb depending on your budget and the kind of experience you seek. Look for accommodations with good reviews, especially from solo travelers, to ensure a pleasant stay.
If you're unsure where to stay, Yatra also provides user reviews and ratings, making it easier to choose the perfect accommodation.

4. Plan Your Activities and Experiences
Once your flights and accommodation are sorted, it's time to plan your activities. As a solo traveler, you have the freedom to follow your interests, whether it's hiking, exploring museums, or attending local events. Here are a few tips:
Research Attractions: Look up popular attractions, hidden gems, and unique experiences in your destination. Websites like TripAdvisor, travel blogs, and destination-specific guides can help you find must-see spots.
Day Tours and Local Experiences: If you prefer not to navigate a new city on your own, consider booking day tours with local guides. Many cities offer walking tours, cooking classes, or day trips to nearby destinations that are perfect for solo travelers.
Be Flexible: While it’s great to have an itinerary, leave room for spontaneity. Some of the best travel moments come from unplanned adventures.
5. Pack Smart and Light
When traveling solo, packing efficiently is crucial, as you'll be responsible for carrying your luggage everywhere you go. Here are some packing tips for solo travelers:
Light Luggage: Pack light to make it easier to move around, especially if you plan on using public transportation. A small carry-on backpack or suitcase should suffice for most trips.
Essential Items: Don’t forget important items like a power bank, local currency, a first-aid kit, and travel insurance. A small lock for your backpack or luggage is also a smart security precaution.
Clothing and Comfort: Pack versatile clothing that can be mixed and matched. Comfortable shoes are essential for walking tours and sightseeing. If you're heading to a destination with variable weather, be sure to include a lightweight rain jacket or layerable clothing.
6. Stay Connected and Keep Safe
Safety is one of the top concerns for solo travelers. Here's how to ensure you stay safe throughout your journey:
Share Your Itinerary: Let friends or family know your travel plans, including your flight details, accommodation, and daily itinerary. It’s also a good idea to check in regularly with someone back home.
SIM Card or Roaming: To stay connected, consider purchasing a local SIM card or activating international roaming on your phone. This will ensure you have access to maps, travel apps, and emergency contacts when needed.
Solo Travel Apps: Install helpful travel apps on your phone, such as maps, currency converters, translator apps, and ride-hailing services. These tools can make navigating a foreign country much easier.
7. Enjoy the Freedom of Solo Travel
The best part about solo travel is the sense of freedom it provides. You can set your own pace, explore places that interest you the most, and connect with other travelers or locals without any distractions.
Solo Travel Communities: If you want to meet new people, many hostels and cafes offer social activities for solo travelers. You can also join solo travel groups on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram to find inspiration or travel buddies for part of your trip.
Embrace the Journey: Solo travel is all about the experience, so don’t worry about things not going according to plan. Embrace every moment, whether it’s getting lost in a new city or striking up a conversation with a local.

For A Phuket Boat Charter, Which Season Is Best?
Well-known for its beautiful beaches, gleaming clean waves, and abundant marine life, Phuket is the largest island in Thailand. Access to secret coves, isolated beaches, and gorgeous islands like Phi Phi, Similan, and Phang Nga Bay makes a boat charter one of the greatest ways to explore the amazing surrounds of the island.
But selecting the correct time of year for a Phuket boat charter is really essential to guarantee an amazing experience. Let's explore the main elements you should take into account while organizing your travel.
Peak Season: November through February
Phuket's peak season is in line with its dry season, which runs November through February. The temperature ranges between 24°C and 32°C (75°F and 90°F), the weather is most favorable at which time sunny sky, calm seas, and comfortable temperatures prevail. These factors make the ideal period for water sports including kayaking, diving, and snorkeling.
Major holidays like Christmas and New Year's also fall during Phuket's busiest season, drawing visitors from all around. Although the island is busy, this time also sees the best rates for boat charters and lodging. Booking far in advance will help you to guarantee your chosen vessel and itinerary.
March to May: Shoulder Season
March through May's shoulder season provides a halfway point between the dry and wet seasons. This season is hotter and more humid since temperatures usually climb and reach 35°C (95°F). Still, the waters are rather calm, which offers Private Luxury Yacht Charter perfect conditions. For people who want to enjoy nice weather but escape the high season crowds, now is the perfect time. You might also discover better reasonably priced deals for lodging and boat charters. Just keep hydrated and use sunscreen; the sun may be really strong
Green Season: June through October
June to October marks the green season, sometimes known as monsoon season. Periodic rain, cloudy clouds, and sometimes choppy waves define this time. Although it's not the most often used period for a boat charter, it has certain special benefits.
With less people and cheaper boat charter rates, the green season presents a more sedate and peaceful experience. The natural beauty of the island is enhanced by the rich scenery and revitalized vegetation. If you intend to charter during this period, nevertheless, it is advisable to verify weather forecasts and choose bigger, more steady boats since sea conditions might be erratic.
Unique Issues
● Conditions in the sea:
The circumstances of the Andaman Sea change greatly all year long. While May to October could experience heavier winds and more swells, November to April usually provides the calmest waters.
● Events and Celebrations:
For a cultural experience, think about arranging your vacation to coincide with local celebrations like the Phuket Vegetarian Festival (September or October) or Songkran (Thai New Year in April).
● Diving and Snorkeling:
Underwater aficionados will find the Similan and Surin Islands ideal during the dry season thanks to great visibility and lots of aquatic life.
Deciding on Your Ideal Time
The optimum time for a Phuket boat charter finally relies on your priorities:
The peak season is the one you choose if you value ideal weather and are ready to pay premium pricing.
Think about the shoulder season if you want low-cost travel free of crowds.
The green season might be shockingly fulfilling if you're looking for isolation and are ready for changing conditions.
Conclusion
A Phuket boat charter guarantees amazing views and unique experiences independent of the time of year. Your tour will be customized to produce lifetime memories by carefully weighing the seasonal conditions and your tastes.
