Even before Eri joined Team Star, you two were dating.

Despite her rough attitude and aggressiveness towards other students (mainly her bullies), you never stopped loving her.

She was the kindest girl you've ever known, and she was just sick of being pushed around by everyone.

That being said, she did get quite into a few Pokémon fights with her bullies, ending with her team badly hurt since they tended to charge in without a strategy.

Luckily, you were studying medicine and working toward obtaining an internship in being a Pokémon Nurse. So you knew how to heal her companions quick and easy.

Every time you're in the hall or outside reading, you may hear "Mankey, use Cross Chop!" off in the distance and sigh, putting away your book to go help Eri. She pushes the poor little thing too far sometimes.

Eventually, you met her other friends--all of whom were bullied for their own reasons.

You understand their pain, as you were often mocked for having "cutesy" Pokémon and became a major pushover when some jerks demanded you healed their Pokémon before your own.

They were very aggressive towards your own team, too, growling at your Slurpuff and Spritzee if they tried calming them with sweet aromas.

Ironically, Cleffa is a fierce defender of your team and has beaten up the perpetrator(s) with deadly moves via Metronome to show she's not messing around.

When the scandal broke out and Team Star got expelled, you chose to go with Eri...even though it would put your future in jeopardy, leaving the Academy to live on the base with her.

From there on, you've been the "nurse joy" of the group, ensuring all of their Pokémon were feeling their best after battles and training, especially your girlfriend.

Although she's grateful you stuck by her, she still thinks you should've stayed at the Academy and not throw away your dream because of her.

However, Blissey and Primeape begged to differ, as you both see her taking care of him, with the usually angry ape not being so..well..angry at the world for a change.

I wrote about an established relationship where character A wanted to give character B a gift. A asks B’s bff what to give him. Bff tells A to give B a rock. A proceeds to spend the day meticulously picking out a rock to give to B. A later presents this perfectly picked out rock to B, and B loves this little gift. This story oddly resonated with a lot of people in my old fandom lol. Moral of the story? People love rocks. Give your friends rocks. They will love you.

About a decade? I started watching Pokémon for as long as I can remember (still love it!), but I fell out of the fandom when my parents stopped paying for cable.

Zutara. Zuko and Katara were everything to me. Fire and water? Their antagonistic relationship? There was so much tension there. It just made sense to me.

Q - A fandom you’ve abandoned and why.

I wouldn’t necessarily say that I’ve abandoned any fandoms, just outgrew them (show finished), left due to circumstances (no more cable or show on hiatus), or lack of inspiration to continue writing. It feels wrong to say “abandoned” because I still love these fandoms and would still go back to consume their content. I’m just not actively involved anymore.

The Leventis/Levantis twins (in my own personal interpretation of them). I have a sibling so I’ve mostly based their interactions on my own. The kind of relationship where you annoy each other but love each other fiercely.

I think that Seiji would own a dog.

Also!! Headcanon that Seiji runs warm and Nicholas has wonky blood circulation which leads to wearing tank tops and shorts in the winter but hoodies and sweatpants in the summer.

Seiji is a dog person.

In Fence? Nate Spencer. I was originally going to say Nicholas but after further evaluation I realize that I am in fact Nate. The kind of person that brightens up the room but also tends to gravitate to one person in particular despite getting constantly ignored (Aiden sksks).

I’m surprised by the lack of rarepairs in Fence. There’s so much potential with the amount of characters that have been introduced so far, but I guess I can see why. Nichoji are just so throughly entwined with each other it’s almost impossible to envision them with anybody else. Other than that, I would gander that there’s more interest in the main ships than exploring newer characters and even newer relationships. (I aim to change that though, a new rarepair is on the horizon!! Hopefully by Valentine’s day 👀💘)

I’m also rather surprised by how active this fandom is despite the small size of it. It’s nice and cozy here though and I like that.

This fandom is actually making me want to try drawing again. Just speaking out to the void here lol. I was pretty decent at drawing chibis when I was younger. Blushing Nicholas here I come… ✍️♥️✨

Happy Pokémon Day! (My history with the franchise and how it changed my life)

So, I always post Pokémon stuff here on this blog, but I haven't posted anything about HOW I fell in love with this franchise...so what better time to do that than on Pokémon Day!

I got into Pokémon during the Gen 4 era, when I was about nine years old. I was on vacation with my family and having my quiet day at my grandparents' vacation rental while my parents stayed at ours with my younger brothers (two of them were just tiny little babies, so that's a lot of noise). I was just left to my own devices since I was having quiet time (as an autistic person, quiet time with no sensory overwhelm is a necessity), and I was flipping channels on the TV when I came across an episode of the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl anime on Cartoon Network. I found myself completely sucked in and fully immersed in the battle Ash and Pikachu were in, and from then on, I was hooked! There was just one problem... Pokémon was still seen as a little kid's thing by everyone around me, and there weren't any kids at school or anything that liked it, so I decided to keep this newfound special interest a secret from everyone, including my own family...actually, ESPECIALLY my family, as I already liked too many little kid's things for my parents' liking (read: my dad's liking).

So how did I keep it a secret? Well, I kept everything I consumed limited to the anime, and I always watched it in my own room with the door locked and the key with me inside my room so no one could get in and see what I was doing. Everyday after the living nightmare that was school, I came home, took the family laptop up to my room to do research on the franchise on Serebii.net and Bulbapedia. I looked up all the Pokémon, all the characters, and found older episodes of the anime from the 4kids era to watch, which I enjoyed immensely, especially Ash's voice (yep, I started with Sarah Natochenny's Ash but I still like Veronica Taylor's Ash better...no hate to Natochenny though, she really improved over time and really made Ash her own, so I appreciate the life she brought to the character, I just prefer the sound of Veronica's Ash voice a little more). And at the end of each Pokémon knowledge-seeking/anime-binging session I would always delete ALL the search history on Google AND the watch history on YouTube (I didn't have my own YouTube account at the time), so no one would ever suspect a thing. I did this for YEARS...in fact I did this well into HIGH SCHOOL!

It wasn't until 2015 that I discovered PokéTubers...and from there my world opened up more, as I had finally learned that there were plenty of older teens and adults who loved Pokémon, I just had to find them (which, the whole social thing is really hard when you're autistic like me). MandJTV was the first PokéTuber I watched, and it only expanded from there, to the point where I now watch almost exclusively PokéTubers. Watching PokéTubers made my love of Pokémon feel valid, that I wasn't the only one, and that there's probably more adult fans than kid ones at this point. And when I entered my final year of high school, I met someone new to the school who liked Pokémon! But I had to act like a complete newcomer to the series since I had never outwardly shown interest before. It made me inwardly cringe every time I purposely butchered a Pokémon's name pronunciation, or said my favorite Pokémon was Pikachu when it's really Infernape and always has been, or pretended I didn't know type matchups, etc, etc. But the best part about finding someone in my actual life who liked Pokémon meant I could finally tell my family about it!

When I told them, they were surprised as they never thought I would be into something like Pokémon, but I was finally FINALLY allowed to embrace my love for it, and get merchandise and play my first Pokémon game! I got Pokémon Art Academy for my 3DS that year for my birthday since I was always drawing Pokémon characters on any paper I could find, and this was actually what got me to start taking my art seriously and gave me the drive to improve! Pokémon also gave me the inspiration to start creating my own original characters for original works, and now I basically live in my own creative universe! For Christmas that year, I got my first Pokémon games, Y and Alpha Sapphire, also for my 3DS, and I played Y all day and hyperfocused so hard that before I knew it my dad was yelling at me to "put the pokey-man down and come eat supper" or else they'd take my 3DS away for a little while...oops. 😅

The best part about all this is, this was all just in time for Pokémon's 20th anniversary celebration! I had an amazing time getting exclusive merch from Toys R Us (RIP TRU, I still miss that store...) and starting my Pikachu collection (it's my number one comfort Pokémon, so of course I collect Pika merch) that is steadily growing to this day. I also got almost every Mythical Pokémon from the big giveaway events each month in my game! And then came the cards...oh Arceus, the cards...this is what got two of my three younger brothers into the franchise, and now opening packs is like a huge event in my house. My mom and dad just roll their eyes when we do it but they are happy for us whenever we pull something good from a pack. After the cards came the PokéSpe manga, which I most constantly post about my precious little autistic bean of an OC Orange on this blog (thank you so much for all the support on those posts btw), so obviously I love PokéSpe with all my heart just like I do the rest of this franchise...especially the Sinnoh Trio!

Ever since 2016 I've been living my best life as a Pokémon fan! I made my first true friends through Pokémon, I've learned many valuable lessons through Pokémon, my special interest in Pokémon helps me process the world around me (trust me on this, I know it sounds weird but I don't know exactly how to explain even though I usually can explain things better through writing). I still play the games, watch the anime, read the manga, etc. I've found so many relatable characters as well! And I somehow also can't stop seeing autistic or neurodivergent coded characters in any form of Pokémon media I consume...it's like I have a radar in my head because I'm autistic myself with three neurodivergent brothers as well so it automatically makes spotting the signs easier for me I guess. At the end of the day, it's all headcanons anyway, but it still feels validating to see so many characters in the franchise that is my main special interest possess many of the same traits and deal with many of the same struggles that I do in my day to day life. I will most likely continue to make character analyses on those characters here as well since I've become more confident in my ability to do that ever since my Crispin analysis became my most popular post BY FAR (thank you all for the support on that one btw)!

All in all, Pokémon has really changed my life for the better and helped me through so many hard times in my life. I honestly don't know where I'd be right now if Pokémon didn't exist, but let's not think about that too much, eh...? I'm just happy living life as a Pokémon fan, and I will continue to be a massive fan forever.

• I love my little pony (if you couldn’t already tell) which has been easily going on for most of my life and never will stop (most lesbian show ever). Continuing on, I adore and know most of the episodes IF I can physically remember ( i DONT have good memory) , and rewatched each episode atleast twice..even when I’m busy. I would talk for hours on end and rant about it! Lol! ( I was born to watch this show ).

•MOSHI MONSTERsZZ, I have the encyclopedia and everything, I loved playing the game and trollling on there to scare everyone and wish I spent more time on it. I used to have figures of them and I personally also dreamt to become one of them as a kid! The series itself helped me interest into reading any kinds of silly stories too (LOVREE ITT). However, it was an on and off story, that’s why I didn’t spent so much. More obsessed now!

•Pokémon!! Gonna catch them alllll!, yes, I had the collections and when my dad brought me all them cards, i couldn’t help but pack them up read through trying to actually get them all! I would talk about it all day (if I ran out of ideas of mlp) running to school to interest others kids (most people were OPPS against this fr..) but that didn’t stop me from watching or playing!! :D Fixation since 2011-idk lol.

•Plants vs zombies..what a time. I remember how I kept this away from everyone, even my parents and uncle (mostly dad). Another one that’s been happening most of my life aswell. However, I got upset when they changed the game itself..I cried cus WTFFFF..they updated it to a basic level game and was no longer interested in it. I LOVE playing the old demo tho fr, best thing ever, just like everything else cus I die when change. I loved it since the DS version was out ( Jan 2011 ).

Y’all I found a google doc. It has 34 ocs in it. These 34 people are split between children of my ships from a specific series and children made from pairs of people who killed each other in that series.

The general idea is the audience of the fic wouldn’t be told who was who. And none of the characters knew either. To some degree everyone had fake memories and there’s no way to know if your sibling even exists or if you even exist because even with children of a “love match” there’s still a 2/3 chance at least one of their parents are dead (depending on which direction I want to take post canon cause there IS a workaround)

2/3 of the cast are possibly computer generated combinations of two people, entire fake memories and backstories. 1/3 of them are real people. No one knows who is who.

And that’s like, not even close to the biggest problem. That’s not even the primary plot line. That’s just the seasoning on top.

I don’t know why I ever thought I was gonna get further than character creation but damn am I having a good time reading through it.

Here’s the highlights:

- A set of twins but one is convinced they’re actually only half sisters and that her sister’s father killers her father and took his place and it turns out that’s almost true

- a set of three half siblings who are just. Off the walls bonkers. One is a witch who can actually do shit like change the weather at will, talk to the dead, see things before they happen, etc. one is an astrologer who is the intended pov character and just. Spends all their time roasting people. And the third is a professional fencer who chooses to disregard the rules most if the time and just do stuff that looks cool. They explicitly state that they’d dad is polyamorous and collecting spouses like Pokémon cards.

- a guy whose only notes are “Is doing his best but fucks up CONSTANTLY”

- a character who is both a Murder Match and a Love Match, her parents were in love but one murdered the other, I wonder why?

- a love match child who is a robot but not because she’s parents are dead but because she’s actually just a robot. Like her parents built her. She’s a magical girl themed robot and the character above miiight fall in love with her but might fall in love with the robot’s half brother who is a jewelry maker.

I haven’t decided. It really depends on who ends up dying cause Cassie’s definitely making it to the end but I don’t know if I want Mira and Kosuke at the end or if I want to torture Cassie a bit by killing Ko. But it’s also kind of weird to just fall in love with your love interests sister after he dies but then again that is hardly even a blip on the radar of this universe as far as bad romantic decisions go I mean there’s a whole character based on that as well

- speaking of: supermodel by daylight, demon Hunter by moonlight, it’s: a traumatized child haunted by the ghost of her aunt!

And HER half brother… I dunno yet but he has to exist due to the rules of this whole thing but I didn’t even think of a name for him uhhhh… he’s definitely dying early cause I have no idea what to do with him.

And he has a half brother of his own (who isn’t related to his sister at all) who is also traumatized cause his mom is………. Violent and strange.

- a half sibling duo who are a scriptwriter and theater director team.

- a competition archer whose only other notes are “will sell you to satan for one corn chip”

Ingo is a cat person, everyone knows it. So you are a perfect companion to him. Of course, no one else knows you’re even a thing, but people can see Ingo’s lightened demeanor even without knowing he has a new housemate. Ingo rests easier with you in the house, snuggled up to him, gently purring as he strokes along your ears and back. He’s very grateful to your companionship in the lonely mountains.

Lady Sneasler adores you as well. She’s taken to raising you like one of her kits, complete with showing you how to hunt and giving you tongue baths when you get dirty. Ingo can only laugh at the strange ways your hair sticks up afterwards, as his does the same when Sneasler tries to bathe him. Ingo takes you to the hot springs afterwards, and coaxes you into the warm waters. He bathes you gentle touches, since you’re already not happy about being wet, trying his best to make it at least a little enjoyable. You return the favor beat you can, claws pleasant along Ingo’s scalp and scarred skin.

The gifts you bring back to Ingo are appreciated, even if the warden doesn’t like how long you’re gone. He gets nervous when you’re not around either with him or in the hut. He wants to protect you from the dangers of this world, but he forces himself not to cage you, and let you be free, since you can’t see anyone besides him. You always come back, though, with something for him in your hands. Sometimes it’s a pretty stone, or one shaped like something you think he’ll like. Other times it’s pretty leaves, flowers, plants you’ve gathered for him. Sometimes it’s dead Pokémon for him to eat, but you’ve stopped bringing those as often since he always forces you to bathe afterwards

You get endless affections from the man. You’re too cute to deny. Sad eyes and wanting purrs break Ingo down far too easily for a man that prides himself as a warden and battle expert. But he can’t help it when you look so cute and lonely. Your favorite place is in his lap or lying against him, his hands brushing through your fur. It’s how you fall asleep most nights, and Ingo finds peace in the soft expression you make while slumbering. He kisses your head, and slips happily into dreamland after you, nightmares diminished in the presence of his little guardian.

It’s grating on him, though. The way you easily handle Lady Sneasler’s kits, playing with him, taking care of them, soothing their tears and lulling them to sleep with soft purrs. All Ingo can see is you with kits of your own, ones he’s given you. He wants it sorely, and the want only grows as the days creep past. Ingo worships the ground you walk on, and begs, please, have kits with him. He wants a family, he wants normalcy with you. He wants the domesticity that children bring, and he will make sure neither you nor the kids ever want for anything. He swears it

3. Fluff's mother was a famous Star Warrior who long ago went missing (and got amnesia) but then met the king of Pacthland, and fell in love with him.

(In this anime) Dedede is introduced to Ripple by a photo Ribbon had of her (the photo was her eating a huge sandwich and eating it very sloppy) I guess the joke is that any normal person would think that picture is unqueen like, but Dedede gains a crush on her instead. (Probably because she wasn't being very royal like and can eat a lot… Just like him) Meanwhile Escargoon is said normal person AND IS DEFINITELY JELLY OF HER BUT DON'T TELL ANYONE ABOUT THAT

5. In the English Dub Queen Ripple has the same voice actress as Jessie from Pokémon (Michele Knotz I think?) Why because Dedede has the same voice as James, so I guess Rocketshipping is also Dederipple now LOL

6. Yin-Yan's backstory is that he (along with his brothers (the Needles)) was created by NeMeEe & was one of the weaker monsters there. Because of this he was bullied by the other monsters, but although his brothers stuck-up for him. One night, Yin-Yarn and his brothers overheard a conversation between NeMeEe employs. The news was that Nightmare was going to kill Yin-Yarn because of him being weak & a puss over. After hearing about that news, the 3 ended up running away from Nightmare Enter Prises, and Yin-Yarn vowed to show that he wasn't weak as they all thought.

7. Adeleine is introduced early in the anime. The episode/2 part is that more monsters were showing up in Cappy Town more than ever before. Which make Kirby, Tiff, Tuff, & Meta Knight more suspicious. I mean didn't they destroy NeMeEe once in for all. On further investigation Tiff finds out that what the monsters are make out of paint. Then by random luck Kirby, Lololo, & Lalala find out that Dedede & Escargoon were keeping a little girl in the castle. Her name was of course Adeleine. Adeleine's backstory is that she & her family are serving ancients of ShiverStar. She had a sister named Chao (The girl from Yuyuki (Yes, she did not originate from Kirby but so did Lololo & Lalala, plus she made a cameo in both the Japanese verison of KDL:2 & KDL:3)) Chao & Adeleine used to be best friends until Chao became a preteen, where she became more into stereotypical teenage girl things like shopping, makeup, boys, & fanfiction etc. Because of this Chao had less and less time to play with Adeleine. Because of this Adeleine ran away, where she ended up on PopStar, where she met the 2. When meeting the 2 she was painting a picture that came to life because she accidently took a magic paintbrush artifact instead of her paint seat. (She got the magic paint brush because her parents were savages.) After hearing Adeleine's backstory, Dedede & Escargoon decided to keep and "help" Adeleine by letting her stay with them in the castle, if she could draw them monster whenever they feel like it. And she agreed to this. Meanwhile in cappy town the Cappies are being captured & interrogated by aliens/ancients (Adeleine's family)

Kirby Abridged Head Canon- Yin-Yarn is called for the most part by his Japanese name (Amiibo Amore). But because this abridged series has a knack for making fun of Amiibo, pretty much everyone thinks that he is one. He gets annoyed by this so much that when first meeting Kirby, Tiff, Tuff, & Fluff he says that his name is Yin-Yarn instead.

hello! everyone knows i actually explode and die if i dont constantly draw kantrio but i dont think i have second favourites! every generations squads got their own dynamic that i love. just that kantrio is the one i draw most cause yknow, its fun to think abt what theyre up to in the present day. though i could tell you abt what the johto kids are doing?

some of my ideas are that ethans a guy really weak for baby pkmn. a true master of the baby type. so i can imagine him as a dedicated daycare worker. silver, tall as hell guy who still maintains a very flashy goth look visits this cutesy little daycare sometimes just to see ethan, no ones sure though if theyre in a serious relationship. them in the daycare is v cute and funney though :)

kris may have really meant it when she said in pokemas that she pretty much wants to be an expert in EVERYTHING. feels like all she does is study hard and shes reeeeal tired. leaf, whos living her best life in a cool as hell van that has airbrushed venusaurs and charizards etc on the side, bothers her sometimes in her attempts to get kris moving again and join her ever growing commune.

quick! if you made a monster/animal au with bnha what would it be about and why yes i am asking this for very obvious reasons

If it’s something simple, I’d do a Pokémon mystery dungeon esque style monster au with friendships and just friends being friends and adventuring. The institutions (UA, the Commission, etc) might be similar but I probably wouldn’t have them be exactly what canon functions them to be

Another idea I had was to make my current WIP Quaternary structure into a monster AU. It’s Yaoyorozu centered based on the idea that she could technically make viruses since they’re non-living, and how her parents trying to commercialize her ability as a child forces her to run away, only getting the attention of pretty much every other group who wants her quirk (for medical purposes or otherwise). It’s heavy vigilante-esque momo & quirkless Izuku friendship (pre UA—she saves him from the sludge villain). I kind of wanted to make Momo a monster. Not sure if it’ll be Bc or some whumpy experimentation from Chisaki trying to utilize her quirk or if I want to go more extreme/fantasy route and have the viruses shes forced to create (some manmade) spiral out of control and totally warp Yaoyorozu, who hosts the almagamation of virus in her body,,

I’m also immensely enjoying the OFA-users-and-afo come-back-as-animals-that-keep-ending-up-on-Izuku’s-front-porch ideas and that might be a cute small animal au.

If it’s something more hardcore, I’d probably set up greater worldbuilding shit. Many different lands and fights between mystical creatures (Probably gonna see some Wings of Fire influence in there if I ever tried to pull something off). Or a wandering MC hopping between or within worlds. (Maybe like a sort of “guardian angel” Izuku, but he’s not an angel and he’s a monster? And he can slip through shadows and does his best to watch over and protect the human versions of monsters he’s met with once upon a time as a favor—idk. And the canon characters are all fucking freaked out of their mind cuz they see shit under their bed and it’s Izuku but he’s not actually trying to hurt anyone??? And throughout the story you start to learn how Izuku met the Other versions of the characters before watching over the humans.) Kind of like in BR where Izuku meets different versions of the same people (some of which who will be monstrous or inhuman like), I’d probably do a similar concept except Izuku (or whatever MC) and all the characters would def have to be a monster as well. Wasted potential otherwise.

Uhhh fuck what’s more centered in the actual BNHA universe tho,, think canon think canon,, I don’t think I could do a monster quirk by itself, it’s fun to read but I don’t have the patience… there’s always nomu characters which is fun. Tho if I want to focus on only one character being a monster/animal and everyone else human,,, probably some kind of quirk curse thingy that forces a character to become monstrous and dealing with those ramifications. Or like, I love the AUs of spirits bonding with people to cause quirks, and I’d just love to see AFO or Shigaraki be reverted to a hella scary spirit that eats away at everything and is so very detrimental to even himself,

Expect love offers. Expect love to come in. Although I do hesitancy here since a lot of you just had this sudden glow and are simply maybe not used to tenderness, honesty and affection.

I also see leadership, management and business skills is something you will learn this year. Also expect hearing certain messages in conversations and music I feel a lot of you simply connect deeply with music or it's connected with your life path.

Emira:

Defo has a stutter that she went through a lot of intensive and grueling speech therapy sessions for (when she was about 7 years old) that she hated. Amity and Edric both know this and know it’s a sensitive topic for her. They’ll tease her lightly about it, but never in front of anyone else and they know where to draw the line. In my last Vinera post, I mentioned how much Viney adores her stutter. She absolutely loves getting Emira flustered enough to start stuttering. She’s incredibly patient and understanding when it comes to Emira’s stutter and Em’s feelings about her stutter, and she helps Emira learn to be okay with it again. It’s nothing to be ashamed of (and it’s cute).

My girl likes carrots. Like, really likes carrots. As in she’ll eat them straight out of the ground if she’s given a chance to wash it first. She really loves carrots. This is only an issue later on after she and Viney start taking care of beasts together and Emira’s been caught eating their entire stock of carrots that’s meant for the beasts. Viney has to keep the carrots in a secret box away from Emira after that point.

Emira actually really loves beasts/animals but has never been good at handling them. Any time she’d try to approach an animal to pet it, it would try to bite her. She’d get extremely pouty whenever this happens because beasts/animals love Edric. It’s not until after she and Viney start dating that Viney actually starts teaching her how to approach different creatures and her love for creatures reignites.

Emira’s a giant pushover for Amity. Only Edric knows this because he’s also a pushover for her. If Amity ever found out what power she actually holds over them, they’d be in so much trouble. They mask their love for their sister with constant teasing. Yes of course they get annoyed by her, that’s how siblings are, especially when Amity tattles on them, but at the end of the day, they’d help Amity hide the body if she asked. (The few times they witnessed her crying by someone other than their parents, they had gone on a warpath. Nobody hurts Mittens.)

Defo had a brief infatuation with Luz for like 5 minutes before she realized how head-over-heels Amity was. As long as they’re both happy, that’s what matters. She’ll take that secret to her grave though.

L O V E S having her hair played with, but like, only with people she’s super comfortable with. She has so much hair (mostly due to her mother’s wishes) and any time they all have attend some fancy gathering, Emira has to be seen by a stylist in order to get all her hair into whatever wild fancy shape her mom wants for the event. That she hates more than life itself, but whenever she’s upset, Edric or Amity grabs her hair brush and just gently brushes her hair out until she’s chill again. (She absolutely melts when Viney starts playing with her hair). In an act of defiance and because she needed this Change, the moment she and her siblings leave the Blight Manor permanently, she cuts off all of her hair. It’s very reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday. Viney loves it. Everyone loves it actually, but the biggest reactions come from Viney and Luz (they both love running their fingers through the newly cut hair because it’s so soft).

She likes to sing to herself when she’s alone. It’s rare that it ever happens because if she knows there’s other people in the same building as her, she won’t chance it. But when she knows she’s alone and no one will notice if she casts a silence bubble around herself so she can sing at the top of her lungs? You better believe she closes any doors or curtains in the area, locks everything, casts that spell and goes nuts. Her voice isn’t all that great, but it’s lovely when she’s singing quietly to herself while she does homework or something. On especially bad nights, Amity will ask her to sing to her. Emira sang to her once when they were like, 3 and 5 respectively, and it’s been their secret thing ever since for especially rough nights/nightmares.

Edric:

Yknow how James from Pokémon is just super good with Pokémon ?? Like, he knows how to treat them, he knows what they like, he asks them gently if they’d like to join them, etc. That’s exactly how Edric approaches creatures. He’s a natural with them, but he and his sister’s natural affinity for illusion magic kept him from pursuing that track of magic.

He’s always wanted a pet, but every time he brings it up to his parents, he’s met with the same firm No as always. He’s definitely gotten in trouble for trying to sneak wild creatures into the house to keep in his room. Thank Titan for Em’s cool new girlfriend who’s not only a multi-track student, but studying the exact subject he wants to study and is super eager to teach him everything she knows. He learns vicariously through her and helps her study for her tests. At first, Emira is suspicious of them, but she knows her brother wouldn’t be so cruel as to try to steal her girlfriend away from her. He’s just a dork.

My boy’s got a sweet tooth. He loves desserts and sweets and fluffy baked goods and often tries to sneak candies when he thinks no one is looking. Chocolate is a big weakness for him. When Luz introduces him to Human Sweets, he’s practically bouncing off the walls. Cotton candy??????? Flan?????? Dulce de Leche en Tabla??? He nearly passes out when Luz busts out what she calls a “chocolate fountain” and turns it on. Y’all remember that one image of a bird bathing in a chocolate fountain from a million years ago? That’s Edric.

Edric Blight LIVES to see his sisters laugh. He would pull all sorts of silly faces and dumb tricks to make Amity laugh when they were little. He still tries to make her laugh, but usually those have grown from giggles to disgruntled mumbling. He’ll never admit how much it breaks his heart and it’s not until he sees her laughing at something Luz has done that he has hope he may still be able to get her to laugh again (it’s also the first time he’s heard her laugh in years and it makes his heart soar in relief. He was almost certain their parents had stamped any concept of laughter out of her).

My boy Edric is so full of love and passion; actually quite similarly to Luz. What makes them different though is that Edric is Aromantic. He’s never had a crush in his life. He’s happy with his sisters and all of their friends and their family as it grows in the future. He has some best friends that he lives with for a while (after his sisters move in with their respective partners), but for the most part he’s chill. He loves his family, he loves spoiling his sisters’ kids, and he’s content with himself. It takes him a super long time to be content with himself, but he gets there. I will literally never get over the fact that his biggest fear is “being alone forever”. He’s never alone. He will always have his friends and family. And, thanks in large part to Luz, he has his parents back. His parents that actually were excited when he cast his first spell and tucked him in at night when he was a toddler, giving him kisses goodnight and pleasant dreams. Not the parents he’d run away from; those were the cold, uncaring, obsessed with fake concepts of popularity and status people he ran away from with his sisters. It took years, but Luz helped bring his real parents back. He loves getting to know them for who they are now that he’s an adult too.

He and Gus become best friends. Like, dumb buddy cop movie levels of best friends. They get into so much trouble when it’s just the two of them and they have the time of their lives. At first, he and Em just sort of took Gus under their wing because he was a little bit of an outcast in their homeroom for being so much younger than everyone else. But he’s a friend of Luz’s and a friend of Amity’s after a while, which automatically makes him cool in their book. They soon find themselves actually enjoying his company, rather than just protecting him from stray bullies, and they find his ability with illusion magic exciting. They themselves are considered prodigies so having another prodigy to show off practice with is super stimulating for all of them. As the years go on (and Emira spends more time with Viney) Edric starts calling more and more often for “Bro Time” where they go do stupid teenage stuff or test the limits of their magic or even just hang out and talk for hours. It’s actually all this time hanging out with just Gus that Edric discovers he’s aro; somehow it comes out that Gus has developed a crush on Edric and (major age differences aside) Edric realizes he’s never had a crush on anyone before. It’s a conversation that sucks a lot, but they’re besties and they manage to get through it. Gus maybe needs to take a day with his original gal pals to just cry about it, but he gets over it just fine. He also helps Edric understand what it means to be aromantic. Well, with the help of Luz and Willow as well; Luz is a walking dictionary for lgbt terminology and Willow’s super good at helping dissect feelings (when they’re not her own cough’outofsightoutofmind’cough).

I genuinely don’t know what he might pursue for a career. Part of me wants him to be independent and do his own thing, but a much stronger part of me wants him to just be part of Viney as Emira’s business. He loves creatures so much and he loves taking care of them, but I don’t want him to feel like a third wheel around his twin sister either. Maybe he becomes a dual track teacher at Hexside specifically for healing and beast keeping so more students can learn about Service Creatures. He can substitute for the Illusion track homeroom when needed, but he’s super passionate about the Service Creature sub-track he and Viney pitch to Principal Bump.
