What Set Up Do I Need For The Online Violin Lessons?
Online music classes are an excellent and convenient method of learning the violin. Here are some pointers for getting your best online violin lessons classes set up correctly.
This advice will help your violin teacher see everything clearly, regardless of the video programme you are using.  This will allow you to get the most out of your online violin tuition.
Tumblr media
What you'll need for violin lessons
Your violin.
A video capturing device
An internet connection with at least 5Mbs (we prefer 10mbps if possible).
Google Hangouts Meet, Google Duo, Skype, Zoom, Facetime, WhatsApp, or another high-quality app
Suggestions For Improving Your Online Violin Lessons
Wear headphones to clearly hear your teacher.
Wearing headphones throughout your class will ensure that you hear the instructor's demonstrations and directions well. It will also assist to eliminate background noise and other potentially distracting sounds.
For the finest sound quality, use a USB microphone.
It's also critical that your instructor hears your voice clearly. Using a microphone allows your instructor to hear your intonation and offer accurate and useful comments to help you improve.
Determine the best camera positioning.
Check that the camera can clearly see the left hand and wrist. This allows the teacher to observe that you're playing the correct notes and using proper technique.
Lastly,
However, if you decide to learn violin without the help of an instructor, you may lose out on all of the expert information available on these websites. You can learn the fundamentals on your own by regular practise, but you won't be able to advance to the professional level without the assistance of a mentor. Learning to play through videos and written instructions, on the other hand, may not give the same experience as playing with an instructor. A instructor can help you learn quicker by answering any questions you may have along the route.

Hey mousy! Could you do one w/the sdv/sve bachelors hare with a farmer that is classically trained (I.e. can play violin, piano, cello etc.) thank you and have a good day :D
Hey hey, dear anon! 👋
Sure thing! Sorry for the late reply, been busy lately with holidays preparations. Anyway, thanks for the ask, and happy upcoming holidays to you! 💖
_____________________________
SDV bachelors:
Elliott was pleasantly surprised that his friend/lover had a musical education. And clearly have a talent for it, he must say! The way Farmer deftly drove their fingers on the keys of Elliott's piano, that if they wanted to become a pianist, with such talent they would already be signing autographs and giving concerts right away. This, by the way, made Farmer's praise of Elliott's own piano playing even more pleasant to the writer. Elliott wouldn't mind taking a couple of lessons from Farmer, but he doesn't want to impose himself, especially since his passion is poems and novels, and playing the piano is secondary.
Hey, so it turns out all of Sam's friends are musicians like himself! Cool! Although Farmer's classical cello playing differs from Sammy's electric guitar in musical genre, he thinks that Farmer would be a great addition to his musical group. Come to think of it, classical music with rock or metal - now that would be awesome! Well, if Farmer wants to of course. If not, and they're just playing for themself, Sammy's still waiting for them to come to his house to visit, hang out and play musical instruments together (as long as his mom Jodi doesn't ban them for loud noice).
Sebastian, like his more energetic best friend, is very good at playing the synthesiser, practising either in his room in the basement or at Samm's. He's generally self-taught, without much experience or specialised training like Farmer, and he's not too obsessed with playing, devoting his main time to programming. But his cheeks flush a little when Farmer, an experienced pianist as they proved to Sabby, compliments his skills and encourages him not to quit playing. Heh, maybe Sabby will reflect on his friend/lover's words. Maybe he'll even start online lessons, and then he and Farmer will play a duet.
Honestly, Shane was quite interested in hearing about music from Farmer, though the chicken man didn't really understand anything Farmer told him about musical theories or showed him music notebooks. He had once wanted to learn to play the trombone as a child, but lessons cost money, and his family... well, somehow things had worked out that way. He was a bit taken aback when Farmer offered to teach him for free. Heh, thanks, but he thinks he's too old and uneducated for that. Will give it a shot if Farmer is his partner, though. At the very least, to understand what Farmer is talking about regarding music and to play a duet for Jas and Marnie.
Harvey and Farmer's conversation over music came up quite casually, during another medical check-up, and Harvey listened to them talk about their hobbies. Farmer mentioned the cello and their years of practice on the musical instrument. The doctor was extremely surprised and jokingly told them to demonstrate their skills. To which Farmer pulled out their cello and began to play. Harvey stood a bit shocked at first (how did that instrument fit in Farmer's backpack??) but then just stood there and enjoyed the music, remembering to applaud them at the end. Talented people are talented at everything, aren't they?
Alex is absolutely delighted. Wow, Farmer and smart and can grow any crop, still play different musical instruments. Only recently the athlete heard them playing the harp in the middle of the woods, and now they're expertly driving a bow on a violin in a public garden, gathering a bunch of locals. His friend/partner is so cool, when he himself has even read one book in full.... No, that's definitely not the spirit. Alex doesn't want to give up, and even wants to try to learn to play an instrument! Yeah, why not! Just for himself. Play a tune for his grandparents for their birthday, for example. Or demonstrate his progress to Farmer. That'd be cool.
SVE bachelors:
Lance knew that Farmer was a very talented violinist even before Farmer told him so. The gallant adventurer had once accidentally caught them in the Cindersap forest where they were playing their violin, filling the forest with truly magical music. Lance even noticed that the local animals and birds did not run away from Farmer, but, mesmerised, watched them play. He travelled to Stardew Valley often through Magnus's portal, hoping that as he passed through the forest he would hear their music again. Oh, and Lance hopes his friend/partner doesn't take it the wrong way, he just didn't want to bother Farmer during their play at the time.
Oh, Victor loves classical music, and Farmer has a clear talent for it! He and his mother used to go to theatres for solo musicians' performances, where they applauded and gave bouquets of flowers to famous pianists and violinists after their play. The way Farmer skilfully plays the music of famous classics, and even writes their own compositions in notebook when they're not busy with their main job as farmer, inspires Victor to try something new. He loves bridges and everything to do with them, but he might try hiring tutors and learning to play the piano. Or maybe cello. He can't decide.
Of course, Magnus knew that Farmer had achieved such masterful harp playing because of their talent, diligence, and long training. Well, a good teacher was also important. He knew of Farmer's talent even before they first visited the Valley. Hmm, funny... the wizard began to notice that when he hears the melody of a harp in the forest, he almost always forgets all his business, stands at the window of the tower and enjoys the music with the sounds of nature. Sometimes even with a cup of tea. Farmer truly does real magic with harp. Magnus himself does not play music, at most he can make the instruments play themselves with spell, but it doesn't compare to real skill, he thinks.

Professor Benevientos notes cuz I spent way too much time thinking about this AU
Donna
- sticks mostly with @shortstrawberry’s AU which originally inspired this
- Botanist and Toxicologist professor, teaches both undergrads and grads
- Still a doll maker that does it as a hobby, takes commissions at her own leisure online for extra cash
- In charge of the greenhouses, she designs the labs in there too
- She’s also conducting her own research in there for her PhD
- Is usually very on-top of students, she’ll reach out to students she notices not doing well in the class and do her best to assist in their success
- Surprisingly prefers teaching toxicology, but that’s mostly because she gets to work with Claudia for those lessons
- Workaholic, she’ll drown herself in grading papers or reading research papers and needs constant reminders to eat
- Most students are intimidated by her lol
Claudia
- Trauma surgeon and a licensed family doctor, she works these during weekends and holidays
- She teaches Anatomy and Physiology, as well as Biochemistry every other year
- Also an instructor in the organic chemistry labs if she can fit it in her schedule
- In charge of the cadaver labs
- Mostly teaches undergrads
- A pretty laid back professor, she definitely has the belief of “you’re paying for this, you’re choosing to be here, and you choose to do well or not”
- That doesn’t mean she’s an unfair professor. She is constantly reworking and reorganizing lessons and exams to make them as fair and educational as they can be
- Tells the best stories if class finishes early. She has the most students that remember her and bond with her out of the sisters
- Sews in her free time, loves making outfits when she can find the time
- Loves bothering the fuck out of her younger sister in staff rooms and meetings (Donna secretly loves it)
Bernadette
- Psychology and Neurology professor, works as a licensed therapist
- Helps with Donna in the greenhouses
- Mostly teaches grad students
- In charge of the Anatomy and Physiology labs
- Has a fair approach with students, she’ll reach out to those who are struggling but doesn’t pursue them
- Use to be on the board but has stepped down since then to make more time for her family
- She will take runs on campus between classes, sometimes Claudia joins her
- The heaviest tea drinker between the sisters, almost always seen with a bottle or flask
- Donna often weaves flowers into her hair and she’s not taking them out for the rest of the day, she’ll rather spread dirt and petals and insects around campus than throw out a flower her baby sis gave her
Angie
- human in this one! Claudia’s daughter
- She’s studying music at the campus, hoping to make it big like movie scores or video game soundtracks
- The building the classes she takes are close enough to the buildings her mom and aunties teach in so she often stops by to visit them
- Definitely privileged- she gets access to back offices and free stuff- especially when Donna is around
- Knows the guitar from her mom, got taught the piano by Bernadette, and both her and Donna learned the violin together. She’s self teaching herself the drums.
- Knows the loopholes around campus rules and abuses the shit out of them
- If there’s a new rule that’s added to campus, it’s because of her
- Doesn’t dorm, she lives with her family- it’s free food, rent, transport, and she doesn’t have to do chores most of the time- why wouldn’t she? (The real reason is that she loves them too much to leave but you won’t hear it from her)
- But she does have a group of friends who are all musicians and all dorm together so when she’s not home she’s with them

Started a LiS fic called Hollow Glow. I have so many LiS fic ideas I want to write, so please let me know if this is one I should continue. If you'd rather read the first chapter here, it's below the cut.
Max Caulfield knew she was a bad person.
It was a fact about herself she hated, but as she didn't bother to make changes, she had no room to complain. Good people didn't pressure their parents into buying hundreds of dollars worth of instant film, or threaten a girl for throwing a roll of toilet paper at their head. Yet Max had done both and more since the start of her tenure at Blackwell. Somehow, the once mousy little girl had become the queen bee of her high school, having other popular girls like Victoria Chase eating out of the palm of her hand.
If she had to pick a day where it all started, it would be the last time she saw her friend Chloe Price. It had been such a special day—They had one last pirate adventure together, only for William and Joyce to walk through the door of the Price household right as they'd uncovered their old time capsule. The four of them had reminisced over Joyce's world-famous salmon surprise, and Max had left with a swollen heart and a promise that they'd be Max and Chloe forever.
Some friend Max had been, utterly failing to keep that promise. Two years later, Chloe had been severely injured in a car accident, and Max still hadn't seen her since that day. A couple of postcards and empty texts were all she had to give for her “BFF.”
It was a lesson she'd learned from her own cowardice—Friendship is fleeting. If she wanted her future friendships to last, she needed to be someone important. And she was. Max was the most important girl at Blackwell, and soon she'd cement that status with her win in the Everyday Heroes contest. She'd get to go to San Francisco with her hero, Mark Jefferson, and show off her photography in an elite art gallery. Her life was about to change for the better.
All that meant now wasn't the time to risk her connections or her status. So when Victoria Chase took a video of Kate Marsh getting black out drunk and kissing half the male population of Blackwell at a Vortex Club party, Max hadn't protested. When Victoria had posted the video online the next morning, Max hadn't protested. When poor Kate became the most ostracized individual at Blackwell to the point her once daily ritual of playing beautiful violin music in her dorm came to a halt… Max hadn't protested.
That was the real reason Max was a bad person. As the queen bee, she could have ordered Victoria to take down that video and save Kate so much grief. But she remained silent, all because she wanted to appear cool and aloof to her friends. Her silence was as damning as it was pathetic.
At the very least, she'd kept her own participation in the harassment to a minimum, and that had kept It from getting too far out of control. But with another Vortex Club party tonight, she knew anything could happen. Especially with Nathan acting so weird.
As though summoned by her thoughts, Max's phone buzzed with a text from Nathan.
Nathan: Yo Max. Youll be at the end of the world party rite?
Of course she would. That was where Mr. Jefferson would announce her victory. She'd told Nathan this many times, but he still kept asking. Max sighed and put her phone back in her pocket without answering.
It was louder than she’d intended, causing the girl next to her on the lawn in front of Blackwell to look up from her own phone with a frown. “You okay, Max?”
Max put on her most convincing smile. “Just thinking about tonight. It’s going to be crazy.”
“Oh, totes.” Victoria grinned. “You're gonna win the Everyday Heroes contest for sure.”
Victoria was one of the best photographers Max knew, so that was enough to make her smile genuine. “If I do somehow lose, it'd better be to you. I won't accept it otherwise.”
Victoria giggled. “Don't worry, girl! You won't lose, not even to me.”
“I know.” It wasn't just bluster backing her words. Mr. Jefferson had been visibly impressed when seeing her picture. She'd been up by the lighthouse during the golden hour when a squirrel ran by. Seeing the opportunity, Max had coaxed it over with a nut. Her other hand had held her camera balanced against her leg, taking the shot of the little critter reaching out for the treat in Max's palm with the sunset behind it. Honestly, it might have been the best photo Max ever took.
One more night, Max thought. After the contest results are announced, I'll ask Victoria to take the video down. Surely she'll be in such a good mood that she won't mind.
The thought made her gut twist. Once again, she was pushing it off. Just like she kept pushing off her visit to Chloe. After all this time, did Chloe even want to see her?
Max's thoughts were interrupted by a scream. Whirling around, she saw Dana Ward staring up at the roof of the Prescott Dormitories, eyes wide and a hand over her mouth. Confused, Max followed her gaze, only for her heart to stop at what she saw.
Kate was standing there, precariously close to the ledge with a look on her face that seemed grim even from Max's position. There was no question of what she was about to do. What Max had helped push her toward.
Max's body was moving before her mind could catch up. Nothing else mattered in that moment, she could not let Kate fall. This was her fucking fault, all because she was too cruel and too cowardly to do the right thing.
Before she knew it, Max had slammed the doors of the dormitory open, flinging herself toward the stairs and taking them two at a time. Not enough. It wasn't enough, dammit! Kate was going to jump any second!
A burning sensation in Max's lungs told her she had stopped breathing. She forced herself to take deep gulps even as her head swam. Passing out before she even reached Kate would be the worst possible outcome.
Before she knew it, Max had made it to the roof. Kate was still there, standing on the edge with her back to Max. The sound of the door opening was enough for her to turn around, eyes widening when she saw who had come up to stop her. Standing there, silhouetted by the setting sun, she looked like a real life angel.
She also looked furious. “What are you doing here, Max!?” she yelled. “Did you want to get a closer look before I jump?”
The air Max had fought to gain seemed to escape her in a rush. “N-No! Kate, please don't do this.”
“Like you care,” she spat. “You didn't care when everyone in the school laughed over my video. You just laughed alongside them!”
“No!” Max felt her heart constrict and clenched her fist in front of it. “I'm sorry, I should've spoken up, but I never laughed at you!”
She dared to take a step forward, only for Kate to step back to nearly dangle off the ledge. Max's heart stopped beating for a few moments.
“Don't move!” Kate shouted. “If you do, I'll jump!”
Max lifted her hands with her palms out. “O-Okay. I'm staying right here. Listen, Kate—”
“No!” If looks could kill, Max would be a smear on the floor. “You were there! You could've helped me! You could've stopped this at any time. But you didn't. I wasn't worth your time.”
Each accusation stung with brutal honesty, and tears began to stream down Max's face. “I know. You're right, Kate. I'm a terrible person, and I understand if you never forgive me. But you're better than I am, and you'll get through this!”
“How!?” For all the pain behind the question, Max could tell it was genuine. “My mom already thinks I've fallen to Satan. Maybe she's right.”
“You were drunk! We all do stupid shit when we’ve had too much to drink.”
It was the wrong thing to say. Kate clenched her fists, but Max could still see them shaking. “I had a single sip of red wine! That's it!” She sobbed. “But I don't remember anything after that. Just a bright room, a soft voice… and a pinch in my neck.”
Max's blood ran cold. She knew what that meant, but she didn't want to believe it. Her lips formed the question regardless. “Were you… drugged?”
Kate hugged herself, tears streaming down her face. “I don't know… but it doesn't matter anymore. I can't wipe my video off the internet, but I can give them something new to gossip about.” She waved an arm toward the crowd below. The commotion had gathered what looked like over half the student body, all staring up at them with bated breath. Fuck, Kate was right, this was a show to them.
There wasn't any time. While Kate glanced at the students below, Max stepped forward, praying the other girl wouldn't notice. “I'll have Victoria take down the video! Everyone will forget!”
Max froze as Kate turned back to her. “They'll never forget. I bet half of them have copies saved for their own amusement. Well, let's see if they'll enjoy it now.”
At that moment, Max knew she couldn't convince Kate. No matter what she said, it would sound empty from her mouth. That was the consequence of her actions. There was only one way to save Kate now.
“Does anyone down there look like they want you to jump?” Her ploy worked, getting Kate to turn her back on Max. In that instant, Max threw herself forward, hand reaching for the girl who deserved so much better.
Kate noticed. She turned around with wide eyes, only to take an immediate step back over the void. A strangled shout escaped Max when she began to plummet, echoed by the kids below.
Still, Max moved. Her upper body hanging over the edge, stomach and legs pressed against the cold stone of the roof as her only support, she grasped Kate’s arm with one hand and her closest hand with the other, her grip surely tight enough to hurt. The halt in momentum made Kate's shoulder pop, but Max would consider it a win if she got out of this with just a dislocated shoulder.
For a moment, Kate swung there, seemingly in shock that she hadn't hit the ground. Then, she looked up, eyes wide as saucers meeting Max's own.
“What are you doing!? Let go of me!”
“No!” Max planted her feet against the ground and dug her heels in as best she could. Already, she could feel herself sliding forward. “I'm sorry, Kate. I wish I knew what to say, but I can't let you die!”
“Why!?” The demand was more sob than word.
Max could feel her grip slipping. She gasped and tightened it, digging nails into Kate's skin. “Kate… I wish I was more like you. You're kind to everyone you meet, even the bullies. Your violin playing is beautiful, and you have real respect for your religion instead of just using it as a moral clutch. You're beautiful, and smart, and… so much better than me. I know you'll do amazing things someday, you just have to live!”
“Max…” Kate's voice was soft. “I'm so sorry. You have to let go or you'll fall too. I'm… glad you told me that. I can go peacefully now. Thank you.”
No, no! Max refused to let this happen. Shaking her head, she pulled with renewed fury, finally managing to lift her arms and bring Kate closer.
“Max!”
“I've got you!” Max was finally able to get a grip on Kate's shirt, heaving her up and over the roof to safety. “I've—”
She shouldn't have let her guard down. With all her focus on pulling Kate up, she hadn't paid any attention to her own precarious position. The same force that pulled Kate up worked against Max, pulling her forward until her legs flipped over the rampart. Before Max even realized what was happening, she was in the air, plummeting toward the hard ground below.
A chorus of screams rose from the students below, but none were louder than Kate's. At the last moment, Max looked up to see the sheer horror on Kate's face. A small, nonsensical part of Max wondered if Kate saw an equal amount of terror on hers.
Dead. She was dead. Time seemed to slow as she fell, her mind so overcome with despair that she almost couldn’t think. Everything she had worked for her whole life—all of it had amounted to nothing. Max found herself wishing she had made so many different decisions. To stay a shy hipster nerd, to never lose touch with Chloe, to be there for Kate when she needed a friend. Wrong choice after wrong choice had led Max here, to die young and be forgotten. It wasn’t fucking fair!
Later, she would learn how miraculous her survival was. Her legs would take the brunt of the impact, shattering to the point she could never walk again. But she would live, against all odds. She would be granted the second chance she didn’t deserve.
Max didn’t know that now. Her death seemed all but certain. Tears trailing down her cheeks, heart feeling like it had already stopped, Max squeezed her eyes shut and waited for oblivion. Wanting her last thoughts to be pleasant ones, she pictured a young girl with strawberry blonde hair. Her best friend, her captain. If they ever met again, Max swore she would be a better friend.
Darkness claimed her.

Tumblr media
(made a new wallpaper for my laptop and i just had to show it off <3)
today, i started a new workout pattern which i shall (hopefully) continue. i am trying to update my skincare app and add in my skin care routine so that i can keep track of it. i ordered a tote bag for college and i'm in love with it. i was reading through the visa paperwork before my appointment tomorrow since i'll be going there alone, for the first time.
i got an iphone and i decided to decorate it with this really cute tie-dye style cat shaped phone grip holder. i watched a few episodes of modern family and restarted my spanish lessons on duolingo (that owl will be the death of me, i swear). i need to finish annotating 'today, tonight, tomorrow' by rachel lynn solomon for my best friend. i also need to dust and clean my room and pick up my violin again (its rotting in the corner).
i've been listening to newjeans on repeat, i am OBSESSED with their pre-release tracks. later today, i'll have to do one hour of my medical imaging course. i have to go pick up my watches from the repair shop soon. i'm listing down some apps that have helped me with being productive and performing self-care :
seven (7-minute daily workout app, simple and doable exercises)
dermi (skin care journal + tracking food habits)
apple health (all-round healthcare app with facilities such as cycle tracking + can be connected to the 'seven' app)
simplenote (keeps all my notes in one place, available for mobile and desktop as an app/online)
flipd (focus and study timer + live study groups and progress tracker)
duolingo (an animated green owl with serial killer tendencies as a language tutor)
that's all for now!
xoxo

HLAW: Day 2—Skills v. Passions/Chocolate
I hope everyone has been having a fantastic HLAW so far! I was out of town on vacation this past Juneteenth weekend and am definitely late to the party, but I wanted to share my idea of how Hana’s extensive skill set came to be! This post covers not only the skills we’re shown directly in canon but also the subjects she’d have been expected to be educated in as a noble lady. While it was originally intended to be a list of bullet points, I ended up adding more elaboration (and a little bit of the second theme there at the end lol).
Tagging @hanaleeappreciationweek and its awesome hosts @lizzybeth1986 and @sazanes!
~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~
In my version of Hana’s backstory, she was educated from ages of 5 to 10 primarily by her Taiwanese governess Tài Luó, named after the character Miss Anne Taylor from Emma. This included the basics such as reading, writing, and arithmetic, as well as some local history and folklore alongside the life sciences.
Under different tutors, Hana began additional lessons in French and Italian as well as the fine arts. This included painting and singing but began with the piano, when 3-year-old Hana first demonstrated her talent by repeating a section played by her mother, leading Lorelai to seek the best piano teacher money could buy.
Lin Changsong (parodied after the real pianist Yin Chengzong) agreed to instruct Hana after hearing her play, teaching her musical theory as well. He also encouraged her to take up another instrument after she demonstrated an aptitude for composition, and so she was also to a far lesser extent taught to play the violin.
After her tenth birthday, Hana’s governess was exchanged for an etiquette coach to prepare her for her first high societal appearance at the upcoming English Social Season. Named after the tutor from Barbie in the Princess and the Pauper, Lady Julianne de Montfort is the heiress to the extinct IRL duchy of Brittany.
Under her tutelage, Hana became fully fluent in French and thoroughly instructed in all of the social graces like conversation, decorum, and courtly manners. Lorelai also enrolled her in the Shanghai Dance School for additional lessons, where she learned ballet and classical Chinese dances from the instructor Shi Zhongyi.
Though having already been taught to sew by her grandmother Lee Bao, Hana was sent to the Shanghai Embroidery Institute, where she had to take supplementary knot tying lessons after finishing early. Bao encouraged her to take her skills further, first for dressmaking and later on for fashion design in general.
Hana’s academic studies were furthered as well by various instructors in world/cultural/ancient history, philosophies of multiple doctrines, classical literature (both Western and Chinese), advanced mathematics, and the physical/social sciences (including astronomy, chemistry, economics, political science, and sociology).
Her instruction in the equestrian arts took place while abroad in England for the Social Season, where she joined the riding club at Wimbledon Village Stables and learned dressage as well as the various riding styles. Hana was led by her parents to partake in other “noble” sporting activities like polo, ice skating, and archery.
She also learned some tai chi from Bao, who passed soon after her 15th birthday. This also ended Hana’s lessons with both Lady Julianne (which had evolved into fencing practice) and Lin Changsong, as they had both been financed by her grandmother after receiving the blame for her last public piano performance at age 12.
Hana was given a laptop to attend the online Balissande Finishing School, where her social education shifted to focusing on developing her skills as a hostess. This included courses on interior decorating and the history of art and furniture, which ignited her genuine interest in historical interior design.
One of the conditions to be a debutante for the Queen Charlotte's Ball (the finale of Hana’s official court debut) was entering a university program. While Lorelai and Xinghai did limit her options to areas of study they deemed would increase her appeal to noble suitors, Hana was still excited to choose the culinary arts.
She attended the Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland to earn her Swiss Grand Diploma in Pastry & Chocolate Arts, and her internship at Le Cordon Bleu Shanghai further refined her palate. Her graduation at the age of 18 marked the end of Hana’s formal training period, and thus began the search for an eligible husband.

How to Choose the Right Music Dealer Insurance for Your Instrument Store?
Owning a music store is exciting. However, it comes with its own unique set of risks. From theft and damage to public liability, the scenarios can be more than just overwhelming for you. Therefore, having the right insurance coverage is a must. This blog will help you understand the ifs and buts of specialized plans for dealers and assist you in making informed decisions to protect your business. Let's get started!
1. Understanding Your Specific Needs
Before comparing policies available with the best service providers around, it is essential to thoroughly assess your business processes. Here are pivotal areas to consider in detail:
Your Inventory
Does your dealership mostly deal in high-end musical instruments that are more prone to getting easily damaged, such as violins, guitars, or pianos, or more enduring ones like drums or keyboards? What is the total value of your inventory? It includes both fresh and second-hand instruments, accessories, and the entire paraphernalia with the equipment you use in the store, for example, amplifiers, sound systems, and repair tools.
Business operations
Do you call your dealership a storefront, a warehouse, or both? Do you provide in-house repair services to your customers, or prefer outsourcing them? Do you also offer instruments-on-rent services to customers? Do you sell musical stuff online? How many people work in your facility?
Potential risks
Is the location of your business exposed to high crime rates? Do you operate in an area susceptible to natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, or other similar events? Do you offer lessons, conduct workshops, or host events that may cause injuries to participants?
Tumblr media
2. Key Types of Insurance for Music Dealers
Property Insurance: It protects your store's establishment, stock, and supplies from casualties caused as a result of fire, theft, vandalism, natural disasters, and other unforeseen events. You can choose between all-risk coverage and specified perils coverage. The former offers a broader range of protection against possible perils, while the latter is more likely to be more cost-effective but only covers specific incidents documented in the policy. Do you also have high-value instruments? Then, you may also consider floater policies. These provide more exhaustive and specialized coverage.
Business Interruption Insurance: What if your business is temporarily closed due to any of the covered issues? A good business interruption plan will help cover recurring expenses, such as rent, utility bills, and employee salaries.
Commercial General Liability Insurance: Also known as CGL, it protects your dealership and your finances from third-party claims of physical injury or property damage. This coverage includes customer injuries that they sustained on your premises or from your products. It also covers product liability claims that arise from defective products, and professional liability claims linked to negligence or errors in your services. One of the best examples is faulty instrument repairs.
Equipment Breakdown Plan: It protects your business equipment, such as computers, sound systems, and repair tools, against mechanical or electrical breakdowns.
3. Choosing the Right Insurance Provider
Begin by getting quotes from multiple reputable music dealer insurance providers that specialize in the types of coverage relevant to your business. Go for a company that has a healthy and proven track record in the industry. Take the time to compare not just the premiums but also the coverage limits.
Once you receive the policy documents, review them meticulously. Make sure you understand the terms and conditions. Pay special attention to the deductibles. If anything seems unclear to you, make a note to ask for clarification from your service provider.
Approach your service partner with any inquiries you might have about the policy. Prepare a list of specific questions related to coverage details, claims processes, and any scenarios pertinent to your business operations. A reliable agent should be willing to provide thorough explanations.
By assessing your needs and following this guide, you can choose the right music dealer insurance to protect your business and ensure its success.
