if you're walking at 5mph, but your feet are on sideways, and the sky turns green at 2:53, and Keanu Reeves has been sent to Neptune, what's your favorite video game
i cant walk 5mph in the first place, im only 5'4 and i have to walk like marvin the fucking martian everywhere i go
if my feet were on sideways i would still manage to get my shoes on wrong because i cant tell my left from my right
if the sky turns green that means every single car on the road is allowed to go at the same time
keanu reeves cant be sent to neptune with an expired passport
my favorite videogame MIGHT be professor layton and the diabolical box just because ive never been able to get over the ending, but mario galaxy and deltarune also come to mind
#this was very fun to answer thank u :o) ive always loved multiple choice questions#maybe if i had more multiple choice in my life id be able to get things done faster just closing my eyes and hoping for the best#its amazing that i dont own a magic eight ball. it would do wonders for my natural indecision and superstition#also to be fair ive only played the first two layton games even though i have the 3rd and 4th games on my cracked cartridge#BUT thats because my copy of unwound future is ass and it freezes on the opening cutscene so i cant even play it. sigh#maybe i should consider getting the mobile remastered versions but im lazy and i dont even know if i have enough storage space#there should be enough space on my ipad though so maybe. or ill back up some files to make room idk#i would have also answered undertale bc i had a huge undertale phase when it came out but im gonna be honest. ive never actually played it#im actually wondering if i should buy a copy for myself for xmas using grays steam account#the only thing im worried about is my motor skills are bad with keyboard and im dreading the asgore fight bc i heard its hard#but ive also never watched a full playthru so i feel like id be going into the game blind which sounds exciting. and ill prbably cry a lot#besides that ive been replaying mario galaxy with gray and i forgot how good the game is.. i love the ambience and game mechanics#although the races are so nerve wracking and i hate the controls sometimes. did u know i died on loopdeloop galaxy TWELVE FUCKING TIMES#also deltarune because i love EVERYTHING abt it i love the lore i love SUSIE i love the whole thing kris has going on#yapping#ask

âćœĄ peppers pt 2 ËłàŒê ¶
character: hwang in ho / 001 / the frontman
ËłàŒê ¶ summary: five sfw and nsfw general headcannons for the frontman
sfw headcannons
â
as he proceeded as the front man, he acquired a fascination with betrayal within the games. it basically reinforced the belief that humanity would always choose the best for themselves despite the sacrifice of others, and deep down i think he gets off by watching the players kill each other
â
in some way he feels a bit bad for the players who vote to go home. heâs seen the process over and over again and knows that greed outweighs self-sufficiency and compassion for others; for him, these deaths arenât as enjoyable to watch
â
he hates others that victimize themselves. it leaves him both simultaneously angry and stressed, because what do you mean youâre upset with the situation you got yourself into?
â
when heâs not in the games (as a player), the hierarchy and rules that he has for the staff is much stricter. he doesnât allow barbarity; like guards threatening each other, fighting, or attempting to take advantage of another person. while he chooses to take players in and make them fight to win, he still has a moral compass
â
he HATES the vips. for him, sure he gets enjoyment of watching the games but heâs never found the need to bet on the players; if anything this further pushes the idea that humanity has lost it. because while others may view him continuing the game as psychopathic, he views it as demonstration to people
nsfw headcannons
â
as the frontman, he doesnât really have someone that can please him. most of the time when heâs pent up, heâll just use his hand and his imagination to get off
â
as the frontman, he likes to keep his sexual activities in private. but as a player, since he believes he has some sort of superiority over the others he wouldnât mind fucking in public; not obnoxiously of course, but with the confidence, courage and no shame. late night sex with him would be so good, but since gi-hun suggests watch shifts it would be harder to actually participate in it (season 2 bathroom scene w/ the frontman when?!)
â
he doesnât really like watching you ride him. he believes it gives you too much control. he wants to have all control over your pleasure; like whether or not you cum, how many times you cum, ect
â
heâd definitely make a sex tape with you if you were okay with it - but only when heâs not playing the games, so either after the revolt or if heâd never entered the games altogether. heâs the type to burn your sex tape on dvdâs. watching them on a video recorder or a mobile device is too tacky for him
â
he likes it when you whine for him; especially if youâre shy in bed. heâd go all gentle in the beginning, saying stuff like âcome on sweetheart, you gotta tell me what you wantâ and âlook at my beautiful sweetheart, so needy for me.â and when heâs finally inside you, he does degrade you, but itâs usually a mix of both praise and degradation
the end! i hope you enjoyed <3!

Idia Shroud: The Daily Grind
Oooh, his limited-edition shirt (from a live performance, implying he actually may have attended a concert in-person??) has the Fates on it! Idia also talks about getting birthday messages from his mobile games⊠True Gamer rep... though I cannot forgive him using an all-in-one cream for his face donât let Vil hearâ
THAT GROOVY IS TAINTED đ The less I say about it, the betterâŠ
Rise and Shine!
Idia Shroud lived by numbers. Measurements, code, games. They were dependable things, easily controlled and predictable, unlike the fleshy meat sacks called humans. The most improbable creatures of all.
The luck of the draw had been unkind to him this year. A test ("In person attendance is required, Shroud," Trein had told him sternly), on his birthday! If a higher being existed out there, Idia was certain he was their least favorite child.
Touching grass? Tch, so annoying.
Idia drew out a ragged groan and rolled his neck, which still ached from having slept upright in his gaming chair. Clasped in his hands was a rectangle, its screen glowing as one of his many mobile games booted up. He had a list to run through, missions to complete--all a part of his routine.
Another day. Better do my dailies before heading out.
He sighed.
A familiar home screen unfolded before his eyes. It was a lounge, newly refurbished and dipped in a neon glow. Balloons clouded the ceiling, banners and streamers were strung up, confetti dusting the floors. Jewel-colored flowers in crystal vases and sumptuous dishes crowded the avaliable space on tables. On special occasions, the background was automatically decorated in honor of the holidays.
A grinning anime girl faded in. She was dressed in a fluffy cloak and hat, keeping her cozy for the winter season. This particular version of her was a SSR he had dumped money into to max out (no expense spared for the best girl).
"Happy birthday, Gloomurai!" she chirped, parroting the same phrase that she did to all players once a year. "Geez, did you sleep in again? Wakey, wakey! How are you going to enjoy your birthday if you're only half-awake for all of it? ... Wh-What? You're wondering if I prepared anything for you? Don't be stupid. I-It's not like... I... like you or anything..."
"Hihihihi... Aaaah, the way she runs hot and cold is so cute, just the best! This is peak content!" Idia chuckled to himself. Here, in the comfort of his private quarters.
Beep, beep, beep!
Idia yelped and leapt up in his seat, nearly dropped his phone. He squinted at the blinking envelope icon that had overtaken the screen.
"... What? A new message?"
Who's it from? I-I don't talk to any of my classmates enough for them to contact me out of the blue like this... C-Could it be Riddle-shi shouting at me to attend the next dorm leader meeting?
Idia cautiously opened the message. He winced as he braced himself for the redhead's shouting (all caps) from the other end.
A cheerful jingled played, followed by pixelated fireworks popping off. Ortho exploded forth from the envelope with a giggle, the words HAPPY BIRTHDAY blinking on either side of him. The video message began to roll.
"Gooood morning, nii-san!" his little brother cried. "Did you get a good night's sleep? I hope so, because you'll need all that energy for your exam--and your birthday party afterwards!"
"B-Birthday party? When did I agree to attend that...?" Idia mumbled, running a hand through his fiery hair.
The prerecorded Ortho continued. "But I know you. You're probably thinking, 'Birthday party? When did I agree to attend that...?' ... Right?"
H-He got me nailed word for word!!
"We can't have you shut away in your bedroom as soon as you're done with that test! So to make sure you don't try and squirm out of socializing, I've recruited a guest character for an escort mission to your class and then to the birthday party afterwards. They'll be by to pick you up at 7:30 am. See you then, nii-san!"
Ortho waved farewell before he blipped out of existence. Idia sprung out of his gaming chair, slick with sweat from a freshly sprung, anxiety-induced leak. He stared at his phone in disbelief, his eyes wide and bugged out.
"D-Did I... Did I hear that message right?! S-Someone's coming to escort me to class?! But the time right now isâŠ!!â
Knock, knock, knock!
âE-Eeeep!!â
This time, he did drop his phone. Its fall was cushioned by the mountain of cardboard boxes, opened chip bags, and volumes of manga loitering on the floor. The impact restarted the video message: âGooood morning, nii-san! Did you have a good nightâs sleep?â
âIdia-senpai?â a voice called out, joining Orthoâs. Your voice. âAre you there? Iâm here to grab you for class.â
Th-Them?! He turned paler than Death, even as his cheeks and the tips of his hair burned bright pink. Why⊠wh-why did Ortho have to choose THEM for this?!
âH-Hold on a minute!â Idia called out.
He crumpled to his knees and gathered as much of his junk as he could, shoveling it into convenient hiding places to create the illusion of tidiness. His closet, under his bed, empty boxes and bookshelf space.
âHow much longer?â you asked worriedly from the other side of the door. âYou might be late at this rateâand you know how Professor Trein can be about tardiness.â
âA-AlmostâŠ!!â
Idia grabbed his phone and got back up, glancing at himself in the reflection of his monitor. His bangs had gone awry, covering one eye in cobalt bangs. He hurriedly brushed them away, trying to get his hair to behave as best he could, then attempted to straighten out the creases in his pajamas.
Screw the school uniform. There was no time left to make himself any more presentable than this. Heâd have to deal with the disapproving shake of his teacherâs head when he slumped in. If was preferable to keeping you waiting.
His temperature spiked again. Pink became red. He waved frantic hands at his hair, urging them to cool off back to blue.
Calm down. C-Calm down, youâve got this!! Youâve played so many dating sims, summon that main character charm!
But in real life, there were no clearly defined routes to head on. No dialogue options to choose or love flags to trip. No resets, should he fail miserably. He was left on his own to fumble through social interactionsâand their consequences.
He shambled over to his door and, swallowing hard, cracked it open. A sliver of light poured in from the outside, along with your smiling face. He was a monster crammed into a gap, and you were his savior.
âThere you are!â
Idia tried to picture a brazen male lead. The sort of guy that leaned against doorframes with a cocky smirk and casually went, âHey, you.â
Nope, nope, nope!!! WAY too cringe! I-I canât say that like I'm a confident alpha dudebroâŠ! I canâtâŠ!!
Idia froze, his mind defaulting to a 404 error. Even his heart seemed to stop, seized by clawing panic.
âH-Hey,â he said meekly.
"Happy birthday, Idia-senpai.â You blinked, slowly taking him in. "Did you sleep in again?"
E-Eh What is this weird sense of deja vu? They sound almost exactly like the birthday login lines from earlier... e-except it's a real person this time, not a fictional character...
The pace of his heartbeat quickened.
S-Somethingâs wrong with me. Th-This reactionâs definitely not normal!!
He flushed again, fervid as a flame. Short circuiting, overheating.
âEr⊠Idia-senpai? Are you feeling okay? Your hair, itâs going haywire, shifting colors like a lava lamp,â you vaguely gestured. âAnd youâre still in your pajamas. You hardly look ready to leave your room."
âI-Iâm fine!â he squeaked. âI wasnât expecting a guest, s-so⊠I didnât prepare to receive⊠any... oneâŠâ Idia trailed off.
"Hehe. How are you going to enjoy your birthday if you're only half-awake for all of it?" You extended a hand to him. "Come on, itâs time to wake up.â
Just like the greeting from the mobile game.
Idia shyly ducked behind his door, hiding his burning face.
Is this a dream? If it is, I don't know if I want to wake up from it.

One aspect of ZoSan that Westerners may not get the full nuance of is the concept of âăăĄăźâ, literally âof our/my householdâ. Thereâs a reason why the EA fandom (mainly Chinese from my POV) disproportionally ship ZS over other ships, to the point where even dudebros hop the joke.
So thereâs this Chinese saying that means âbe strict to yourself but lenient towards othersâ which is seen as model behaviour for respected individuals. I donât know if thereâs an equivalent idiom in Japanese but both Koreans and Japanese hold similar attitudes towards treatment of self vs treatment of others in society. Hereâs the fun part: thanks to collectivist culture, oneâs âselfâ extends to your immediate family too. Since youâre seen in conjunction with your family, if youâre head of the house and your âinferiorsâ misbehave in public, it reflects badly on you as a person. Thatâs why strict parenting is more normalised in EA culture, because controlling how your kids behave is more or less the same as controlling how you yourself behave. This is also related to how tough love is a more common form of affection in EA families, thereâs a sentiment of âbeing able to be mean to you means weâre close, being too nice means I see you as a stranger.â
You might now see how this relates to the Strawhats in general (see: Nami beating up members for acting out of line). Sanji is a funny one coz he was sort of a maternal figure secondary to Nami early on in the series. Women aside, thereâs a difference in how he treats men on his crew and âoutsidersâ (e.g. Ace). Heâs actually not rude towards men, itâs just that we predominantly see his interactions with the crew! Since his crew is his family, he can be strict with them like how heâs strict with himself.
How does this relate to ZS in particular? Well, itâs because Zoro is closest to him on the selfâothers sphere. Luffy is his captain so despite the usual bickering he has to obey him to some degree. Usopp and Chopper are younger and weaker, so Sanji has a responsibility to take care of them and show generosity as an âelderâ. Franky, Brook and Jinbe are way older than him so there has to be some degree of respect when interacting with them. Nami and Robin are Women. This only leaves Zoro, who is his equal in both age, power and hierarchical position on the crew. Essentially, Sanji has every right to hold Zoro to the exact same standard as he would himself. And given that Sanji is extremely harsh to himself, heâs harsh to Zoro too.
This is why there was virtually no discourse over the âSanji calls Zoro a liabilityâ moment in the EA fandom. The unspoken context was that Sanji was apologising to Jinbe for Zoro, who wasnât performing his best. And since Jinbe is relatively new to the crew and also much older than Sanji, it feels like a mother/wife apologising for her son/husband?? Itâs giving âIâm sorry my Zoro embarrassed usâ?? Itâs giving âZoro is my responsibilityâ?? On the flip side Zoro absolutely does this to Sanji too. I canât name a specific anime moment but in one of the mobile game collabs he said something like âsorry our cook caused trouble for youâ. The specific wording was ăăĄăźăłăăŻ. (They both think theyâre managing the other lmao I hate them)
Tldr: Zoro and Sanji see themselves as one household unit đ hence the bickering and bluntness and lack of pretences in general.
#thanks for coming to my yapfest I hope I delivered#cant speak for the jp/kr fanbases but I can tell you cn fans eat this shit up#bickering is a love language to us fr#also a little acesan aside? In the anime ace had a very âsorry my little brother troubled youâ while sanji was like ânononoâ#âIâm sorry we troubled YOUâ attitude. Elder siblings exchange fr#zosan#long post#black leg sanji#roronoa zoro#vinsmoke sanji#one piece#one piece meta

Kala has heard rumors that there may be merch pins coming of Assan and Manfred [source]
(Previous comment for context - Dev Brenon: "You can sprint, there is also a dash/dodge move you can do for short range mobility - though I don't tend to use that much when exploring.") A user asked on this, "Will it be a push-to-sprint key, a sprint toggle, or other (to be explained later)?". Brenon replied with some more detail on this feature: "Right now it's a pseudo-toggle, you press it once (while moving) to start sprinting and then as long as you keep moving you keep sprinting. If you let got of the movement controls, you stop sprinting." [source: the official BioWare Discord]
User: "if a choice i made 30 hours ago affects me.. best believe im restarting the whole game". Brenon: "Uh oh''. User: "UH OH???". Brenon: "I mean... we do have "decision saves" before big choice moments, but there are still a bunch that depend on a whole mess of stuff you've done earlier... so... yeah... RIP :P" [source: the official BioWare Discord]
They hope to get a bunch more BioWare-themed emojis for the Discord [source: the official BioWare Discord]
Trick Weekes has been signing DA:TV stuff with "with love and appreciation for your patience" [source]
Carly: "theres so much id love to say, but i unfortunately can't , that being said, i hear y'all and love working on a game for such passionate people and hope y'all enjoy when it does come out đ" [source]
Actor signing attendees report that it was amazing and that we're in good hands with this acting cast. You can see more photos from it here [source].
Dev signing attendees report that it was packed. You can see another photo from it here [source]. and here is a photo of the sign from it [source]
Another photo of the booth [source]. Sometimes at the booth the devs had a Solas statue [source] (this is done by Dark Horse). I think Dark were also displaying somewhere a Varric and a Cassandra statue too, and I think these were the ones that Dark Horse do too (Varric, Cass), but I can't find the image or video where I originally saw this anymore, sorry >.<
The companion tarot-style art from the website was shown on the big screen at the acting panel [source]
A few more details from the actor panel, from an attendee: John Epler said that this is the best group of companions written because of their relationships with each other, not just Rook. They can become friends, lovers, rivals with each other. Zach thought that Lucanis was the coolest character he gets to play. It sounds like he mentioned Illario [I'm assuming] by name. Lucanis is quick-witted. Neve is a bit of a romantic. Jessica found voice acting freeing as it felt like playing pretend when she was little. In her role, she felt like she could embrace being very powerful. Neve is passionate. On Emmrich, "wisdom, calm to group, warm-hearted, loves learning". Emmrich has some fantastic lines. Along with working with Varric to track down Solas, Harding has also been working with Rook and Neve. Ali talked a lot about how much collaboration there is between BioWare, the actors and the material they're given to work with. Harding has been through some things and has more of an edge to her, but they can't talk about it! [source]
A few more details from the actor panel, from an attendee - Jessica Clark: "A lot of the time, we kind've really all bonded in the way that we were intended to, you know? And that's why we've been so excited all week and all weekend, because we can be like 'oh my god you're here', 'oh my god you're here, you're here, you're here', finally, you know? You know, I know on a lot of projects people are like 'oh yeah, we're all like, we love each other', but we really do, we really really do, and it just evolved so organically, and there was something magical about it just being our voices in the beginning, you know, like, sort've taking anything else out of the [equation.]" [source]
A few more details from the actor panel, from an attendee - Nick Boraine: "I think I've been preparing for Emmrich all my life. I was very attracted to the role initially, and I was so, I was so, I was overjoyed when I got it, because I think it was, the writing of Emmrich is really fascinating, it's this, this man that is obsessed with death, on one hand, but on death as a comfort, death as a transition, death as something that is not scary, and that, that ability to enable people to transition and the investment that he gives in that sphere, which we don't give in our own lives. I was immediately attracted to that and I thought that that was, I'd never seen that before, so to go in these two ways, to talk about death and to talk about it in a way that is kind, and that the transition becomes a kind transition, that was fascinating to me, and I think, will be fascinating to you too." [source]
A few more details from the actor panel, from an attendee - Zach Mendez: "[before they started shooting] I did kinda get an idea about how passionate the fanbase was, which made me really excited. I don't wanna say nervous, because I don't say I'm nervous, I say I'm excited. And so, before the first day of shoot, I was very excited. And luckily, you know, Ashley and them, didn't have me do too much on the first day. I played a lot of darkspawn. I darkspawn-ed my ass off, though. I want you guys to know, I really. And when I got home, I thought to myself, 'Zach, did you darkspawn hard enough?' I was just worried. You know, and within an hour I got texts from Jeff, who's a part of this cast as well, and G, telling me what a great job I did, and then I'll never forget, I got a call from Ali Hillis down here, and I'll remember that conversation, because for thirty minutes she made me feel like I was welcome in the Dragon Age family, and it gave me so much confidence moving forwards. So thank you, Ali, so much, I still remember that." [source]
[Character limit text break!]

A user asked a question around if there are dialogue options and choices available in the game that indicate a mixed or less favorable positive perspective on Solas. Bria, a Councilmember, shared: "As an Egg Cracker, I was pretty satisfied with what we saw. I donât want to go into spoilers but I was able to play my Rook the way I wanted when it came to the Sad Egg Man." [source]
User: "would you be able to tell us if you can change your perspective while in a fight? Those circles we saw on the video were kind of hard to see from that angle". Ghil: "Like a bit- no promises but they told us a lot of stuff like that would be in an accessibility feature. I get pretty motion sick so I remember talking about backing it up a bit." [source]
Kala: "The amount of gasping, screaming, @/ElbenherzArt having to lay on the floor, @/hattedhedgehog and @/chaosbria having to stand up from excitement and us just being in shock the whole time. Yeah đ đ" [source]
Kala shared that there are moments in the game that she knows people will freak out about [source], that in terms of marketing, she knows that the devs have more things planned [source], and that she found Bellara endearing, despite not usually vibing with optimistic and energetic characters [source]
Kala shared that she feels that the Lighthouse is way cooler than Skyhold [source]
Also, in early May 2024 Zach appeared on a podcast:
Zach: "I'm very excited because it looks like at the end of this year, the video game that I've been working on for about three or so years is gonna come out, and I'm really excited for that. I'm gonna come back on and I'm gonna promote that, you guys, you will have no choice, I'm coming back on." Host: "Does the video game feature dicks?" Zach: "I can't say too much about it, but it, it doesn't ignore dicks, you know what I mean? It doesn't, you know what, there might be, yeah, there's, it's a sexy video game, it's a hot video game." Host: "So are you a character?" Zach: "I'm a character in the video game." --- Zach: "I'm gonna come back on to promote the hell out of that, because I'm really excited about that. I'm still working on that, and that's been, like, I'm super grateful for that, because that's been going on for like three years and it's been consistent work." --- Zach: "I'm super excited about it [...]" "Other people help you make really amazing things, when humans get together they make pretty stuff, and this game looks amazing"

love seeing everyone's Mouthwashing theories and analysis and just wanted to throw my two cents in, bc Mouthwashing is an amazing game, not only story-wise, but also on a meta level.
!!! SPOILERS FOR MOUTHWASHING, CAN'T PUT A READ MORE ON MOBILE !!!
the game is told from two perspectives: Curly before the crash, Jimmy after the crash. The player controls either one of the two in the corresponding times, and I think the concept of "protagonist" plays a big role here. Before the crash, Curly is the protagonist. He's the captain everyone listens to and tries his best (more or less) to be a leader, a friend, a beacon for everyone. Jimmy is an old friend of his, but ultimately an NPC in Curly's perspective. And the game shows that Jimmy is very jealous of that. He wants to be a big shot too. He wants to be someone others look up to. He wants to "take responsibility".
The crash happens and Curly is left burned and limbless and voiceless and now Jimmy is the protagonist. We, the player, control him and thus we get his very limited and unreliable perspective on everyone else. And Jimmy loves being the "protagonist". The game is even warped story wise so we only learn in the end that it was Jimmy who caused the crash, not Curly. With Jimmy as the protagonist, every other character is subject to his perspective: for example, when Anya locks herself in Medical to end her life, Jimmy influences Daisuke to believe that Anya would kill Curly, although she's shown nothing but compassion and selflessness for the other characters all game. It's easy for the player to get caught up in that, as seen in players being totally fine with drugging Swansea to enter Utility and rarely questioning if the character they're controlling is being reliable or not.
The game being warped through Jimmy's influence also shows itself in other instances: during the one time Jimmy and Anya talk alone in the hallway, Jimmy lashes out at her. He yells about the "tasks" he's been given and the order of them, resulting in the tasks the player can see in the user interface starting to flicker and change according to what he yells. This is showing how meta wise the game is being influenced by Jimmy being the protagonist, having to bend to his will and act accordingly. But we also see the game fight back: during the hallucinatory vent sequence, the player has the option to turn around after seeing a piece of paper that reminds them to "take responsibility" and when turning around and facing away, thus not facing responsibility, the game snaps the player back to face the paper again. It looks like the whole game is a representation of the protagonist struggle between Curly and Jimmy. Curly, the "natural protagonist" is hijacked by Jimmy's actions, making Jimmy the new protagonist of the game. He tries to fulfill the role according to what he thinks he has to do, but he's not good at it, resulting in the game being told out of chronological order, to show the player both sides of the coin.
And even the finale of the game is a representation of the "protagonist struggle" between Jimmy and Curly. In the end, after everyone is dead except them, Jimmy (controlled by the player) takes Curly to the one functioning cryo pod, his last action as a protagonist. Then, in the last scene, the perspectives are switched again. The player looks through the eyes of Curly inside the cryo pod, seeing Jimmy outside ultimately walk to the side and kill himself with a gunshot. As the credits of the game play, the cryo pod is starting to freeze Curly and the player is stuck as him in the pod, ending the game. It shows that Jimmy didn't manage to grow into the role he so desperately wanted, bc his last action as the protagonist is giving away responsibility, directly back to Curly. Jimmy can end the game as an NPC again and avoid taking responsibility, while Curly is the one now faced with an undetermined future, worse off than before.
I hope my ramblings made sense, but I love the game a lot and I hope more people start to analyze the story and other aspects of the game soon!

Would you be willing to write what kind of fan would ace, sabo, shanks, and law for the reader!! I loved your last one!!!
You got it dude! Sorry for taking so long.
Ace, Sabo, Law, and Shanks- Reversed AU HCs
AU: In which YOU are the character of a very famous franchise, and they are regular people who are fans of your series.
Note: GN!Reader, crack, very unserious, SFW
Part 1 with Straw Hats here!
Ace
Broke ass guy who canât afford anything for you minus like, a bootleg or something small. Has buttons of you.Â
Highkey think he would be a menace and just wear something so off with you on it (you are free to decide what that looks like).Â
If people ask why heâs got you on his phone or like a keychain of you, he just beams and responds that youâre the love of his life and refuses to elaborate.Â
Lies, he WILL be elaborating and making it everyoneâs problem.Â
Marco wants him to shut up about it.Â
Thatch jokes around often and makes cakes of you for Ace on his birthday or something. Ace refuses to eat it for like two seconds before heâs quickly trying to fight off the others from taking a slice.Â
Whitebeard has not realized youâre fictional and still asks about meeting you soon⊠he just wants to meet the one his son keeps raving about.Â
Ace has to lie and it becomes a whole âmy partner is in Canada, actually they canât see you now.âÂ
Whitebeard is so impressed with the fact you travel all over the world <3 wow, you must be so worldly!Â
SaboÂ
Rich boy who I donât think would directly get merchandise of you, but he would totally buy things that have your signature color or remind him of you. Very subtle things. I could see him buying one expensive figure of you, but otherwise itâs just subtle things he will proudly wear in public.Â
Doesnât have much time for gaming, so I donât think he would be playing the mobile gacha games but he will admire the artwork and units of you.Â
This is actually a partial truth, he had them at one point but was sinking so much money into your units that Koala had to step in and get him to stop this addiction.Â
Heâs been doing his best okay⊠but your alt unit is so tempting he wants to GET IT HE NEEDS TO GET IT LET HIM ROLL ONE MORE ONE MORE ONE MORE-Â
Saboâs phone is now under parental controls and he needs Koala or Dragonâs permission to download or buy any in-app purchases.Â
But heâs like, so normal about this, okay? He doesnât have a problem.
Likes to eat your favorite snacks or food on your birthday as a sort of âcelebrationâ of you. Again, pretty subtle things like buying a dessert you like from that one bakery, or ordering a meal that you ate one time on the show.Â
On second thought I could see him having special editions of the manga, but that remains in his office never to be borrowed by anyone.Â
LawÂ
âWhy the hell would I be into this?âÂ
Acts like heâs above watching cringe animes when heâs got better taste in his consumption of media like House MD or Scrubs or something.Â
But you know, heâs always getting dragged into silly shit with his friends so everyone is forcing him to watch this popular anime with over 1000+ episodes.Â
Law feels like performing surgery on himself with no anesthesia at the sheer number of episodes.Â
It isnât until like 400 episodes in when youâre introduced and everyone swears they can see the light in his eyes return and heâs entranced.Â
Suddenly this is his favorite show, although he refuses to entertain that.Â
He totally has a few figures of you, but when asked, he just yells that theyâre Bepoâs and heâs keeping them safe.Â
The others know heâs not going to buy merch so they just buy him silly trinkets of you and he tries to keep lowkey and hidden so no one knows about his love for you.Â
Heâs not the same man he was 400 episodes ago. He still canât decide if thatâs a good thing or a bad one.Â
But youâve invaded and latched yourself into his mind and damn it, heâll keep you there.Â
ShanksÂ
Cringe but free.Â
Buggy got him into this show (Buggy made a slip up once and has tried to deny that heâs liked this series since) and Shanks casually watches a few episodes when heâs free.Â
Has a couple of figures that a kid Uta always wants to play with (hell no, put that shit back!!!)Â
Lies to Uta whenever she asks who this figure is of and he dramatically will hold the figure of you and tell her this is, in fact, who her other parent is.Â
Great job, Shanks, you weirdo. Of course, Uta knows when sheâs older that heâs lying out of his ass, but when she was younger she was deadset on meeting you.Â
So Shanks was forced to include her in his watches so she can see her âother parentâ. Shanks makes wild stories when Uta asks why youâre in the TV and says youâre so so cool they just had to make a tv show about you.Â
Heâs the kind of guy who forgets Uta is a kid and whenever something super violent or adult happens, he goes âoopsâ after a few seconds and shoddily covers her eyes, to the point she can pretty much still see everything.Â
So both of them kinda get in a feedback loop where when he gets something, she wants it, and when she wants to do something, heâll do it when it comes to you.Â
You are a staple in that household. Shanks isnât the best at maintaining your figures but he does remember to dust you off once in a while (mostly after Uta screams at him to keep it in good condition).Â
Heâs tried to get into the card game (Uta insisted), but he finds the rules too hard and difficult, so him and Uta made an easier version (which he often lies about to be able to win).Â
His luck is crappy too when it comes to the blind packs, so when Uta got the rare card of you he was practically gonna wrestle it out of her.Â
Heâs also weird and rich enough to get any crazy or out there merchandise of you if he felt like it.

perhaps a bit of an odd question: so, when I'm scrolling tumblr on mobile, I have a habit of downloading most images i come across, so that I can send them to people who don't use tumblr, especially memes and animal photos. however, i also have severe memory issues, and I may end up forgetting where i got certain images. i know for the photo repository one of the rules is to not repost the photos without any modification- which i might forget, or forget which images on my phone fall under that rule. and while i would guess that that rule doesn't apply to stuff like direct messages or texts, i might forget to tell the person I'm sending it to, who might repost it elsewhere without being aware, or months after downloading i will just forget and use one of the photos in a post I'm making because it felt relevant.
this is something i can pretty easily solve myself by just blocking the photo repository blog, or tags relating to it, but I'd rather not do that because i do really like seeing the photos and all the info and stuff. and i would assume it would be an insane amount of work for you to add something like a watermark to every single photo, so I'm not really sure how to go about this. i like seeing the photos, but i don't want to accidentally break the rules.
You clearly care deeply about doing the "right thing", so, what that tells me is that you're not actually the target audience for that rule. I appreciate all the thought you put into this message. Let's talk about it!
I've been reconsidering if requiring people to get permission for reposting images is the best policy to have and I'd like people to weigh in.
My original reasoning was this: the more I can ensure that reposts are affiliated with credit, the better I can control copyright on the images on the site, and therefore have more ground to challenge any scrapers/fake accounts/AR groups that yoink them for nefarious purposes. The easiest way to do that seemed to be to have people ping and ask, with the expectation of saying yes almost all the time.
But there's a couple problems with that, I think, in practice:
People don't like emailing strangers (I forget this! I have done it for work for so many years it isn't uncomfortable anymore).
This isn't how the internet works. (Tumblr has a specific microculture that encourages crediting creators and not stealing! Once this is shared more widely on other platforms, I don't expect it'll be the same ecosystem).
It actually undermines organic spread of content! (You're less likely to make an excited post about a cool photo if you have to send a maybe-scary email and wait for a response). And I do want there to be lots of eyeballs on the photos.
Realistically, @nexus-nebulae, with the policy right now? If you slipped up and reposted something without thinking, I'd just ask you to add credit to the post so it directs back to the site. The goal of this whole project is community access and engagement - I want to you to enjoy the photos, and send them to your friends! I'm just trying to also protect it from the awful that a lot of the internet has become.
But, I'm also wondering it it makes sense to swap the policy to say that it's fine to re-post images on socials as long as they're appropriately credited and/or linked back to the repository. This isn't the policy yet, but if you're reading this please tell me what you're thinking.
Non-edited image use (like putting them in a scientific paper, using them to build a curriculum unit, or putting them on board game cards - these are just random examples) would still need to be requested; but that's an entirely protective stance and if you ask, my goal is to always say yes.
So OP, please don't worry too much. Enjoy looking at the animals, do your best, and I'll be happy. :)

I absolutely LOVE your headcanons esp the Indian ones they make me feel quite seen even if I'm from a country that have super similar cultures (Mauritius) đđ«¶
But now I have to ask, I'm the eldest cousin so whenever there's a family gathering I'm usually the one stuck looking after all of my little cousins so if I brought one of the brothers with me they would all be wondering who he is to me and would interview him just being like, "Are you his boyfriend?!?!?!"
Any chance I could get any headcanons for the brothers for this? Completely okay if you can't!
hello! yes of course :)
this request was send in more recently but I just got back from a family gathering (as of 5/25 this is very prewritten haha) and got a fresh taste of this because im the eldest cousin too! i understand your pain haha. all of my cousins are little. chasing after kids you sometimes barely know the name of in a sari, lehenga, or salwar kameez is no fun
god this will be so fun to write!! (thereâs still a whole bunch of random aunties, uncles and little kids at the house so Iâm hiding since I donât get to leave until tomorrow) like yesterday, most of this was written on mobile since Iâm traveling so excuse autocorrect please :)
enjoy <3
Mc who babysits their younger cousins at a family gathering w/ the brothers
Lucifer
heâs getting war flashbacks /j haha and itâs written all over his face
he left home to get away from his brothers and basically entered an environment thatâs exactly the same but with easily one hundred times the people
heâs almost impressed on their ability to never shut up and now knows why youâre so good at handling his family
however, he is dadciferâąïž so heâs great with the kids, and will try his best to answer their questions, even ones regarding your relationship status
Mammon
nothing gets past kids, and they can sense his weakness when heâs talking about you. they are ruthless
before they can break him, you have to step in and tell them to pick one question each to ask. heâs not sure how youâre corralled them so well, or how you can even tell some of them apart to the point of reprimanding them for tricking him. no wonder you can keep his family in line
once he realizes your job isnât over until the night ends and their parents come to get their kids, he tries to sneak off a few times, but he always ends up with a couple shadows and has to come back
eventually heâs resigned to his fate, and finds he much prefers the cute little babies since theyâre more than happy to mess with his jewelry, and he gets to pinch their cute little chubby cheeks <3
Levi
as much as he hates it, the kids love him and whatever device he brought along to play with
after promising to replace anything they break, he sits down and plays games with them and finds out he actually enjoys it
the older ones actually engage in the game with him and ask him game related questions, which he's more than happy to answer, and the younger ones can be handed a disconnected controller and still be kept happy
this is to the point where the kids actually forget to question him about who he is, and only ask if he'll be at the next event. who is he to say no?
Satan
youâre prepared, and he thinks he is too until he gets there haha. but, he keeps it together and adapts well
youâve thought of just about everything, from wearing extra, cheaper bangles to hand to them to keep them happy to man knowing every trick in the book to get them to finish their dinner and he can only hope to reach that level someday
he's very collected though, he tries his best to deflect their questions and keep them off that topic
however, part of him knows that's impossible and eventually he caves and just answers the questions to the best of his ability, hoping you aren't listening. never have you seen him so out of his element
Asmo
if itâs a dry event and for some reason isnât on the dance floor, or there wasnât one to begin with, heâs so in love with the job you hate so much haha
heâs so attentive with the kids and adores them. heâs got lots of tricks up his sleeve to keep them entertained
of course, he owns it when one kid asks if heâs your boyfriend and proudly tells them yes, he is, (even if heâs not) and answers any other questions they have even if youâre embarrassed
now, the kids look forward to seeing him and expect him everytime
Beel
heâs very chill and almost finds it enjoyable, mostly there to keep you from losing your mind
when the kids eventually decide the food they picked out wasnât what they wanted, and instead whatever heâs eating, heâs more than happy to share with them. after, theyâre youâre flesh and blood, so theyâre his family too
of course heâs their jungle gym and he takes turns tossing them in the air, and giving piggy back rides
heâs not quite sure how to respond to all of their questions, but as long as youâre alright with it, heâll answer honestly
Belphie
as a youngest himself, heâs overwhelmed. is this what heâs like?
the kids wonât let him sneak away to nap, because theyâre hyper aware of everything and will catch him
honestly, heâs more annoyed than anything, but he might take a liking to a few and spend all his time with them. he feels like heâs being attacked by all the questions
heâs a lot nicer to you after that, since he realized thatâs your life, and he only got a small taste of it

pleeease give a review for infinity nikki ive been thinking about downloading it but i dont know if i have the space and if its worth it to clear some up for it !!!
as someone who spent HOURS on flash-based dollmakers as a kid, i absolutely love it. the gameplay hits somewhere between dressup game and open-world RPG, in that there's a large botw-like open map to explore, but the express purpose of exploring it is to unlock new clothes for your character. The exploration itself feels very calm and cozy most of the time, with the emphasis being on small collection tasks like fishing, bug-catching, and foraging. again, all of this is specifically to craft new outfits for nikki which you can both coordinate with no limitations to wear in the open world and use in scored styling contests with npcs, some of which reward you with game currency and some of which help you progress the story quests. the only place where i feel the gameplay truly suffers is in combat. you have one attack, and it's a ranged shooter, but there's no aim-assist whatsoever, and the mobile joystick isn't NEARLY sensitive enough to justify this. aiming in combat is one of the most difficult parts of the game, and nikki can only take 5 hits before she dies and has to respawn, making combat decently frustrating. However, there are very few places where combat is strictly necessary in-game, and both of the boss battles i've done so far had hitboxes large enough that it wasn't an issue; it's really in the open world against hordes of smaller enemies that the lack of targeting becomes really frustrating. other than that, though, the controls are fairly well-designed and intuitive, especially if you've played similar games before.
The clothes themselves are the star of the show, of course. I've yet to see a single clothing item in the game that I don't want. there's a good mix of fancy intricate outfit pieces and basics to obtain early-on, and without even touching the gacha you can coordinate some really cute outfits via in-universe boutiques and quests that reward you with clothes. Even the very obviously themed ability outfit sets that you craft early on almost always have a few pieces that are easy to mix and match with, so there's a TON of styling potential even for free players! As for the gacha, it's actually one of the more generous games i've played in terms of rewards and pity systems. My one complaint so far is that the 5-star gacha outfits especially seem to be very accessory-heavy, meaning it's possible to pull shoes, multiple necklaces, gloves, socks, and hairpieces before ever pulling the dress they're very obviously designed around. there is a pity mechanic to prevent this, but it requires you to pull a few too many times before your guarantee imo.
The story is ridiculous in a good way. It kind of reads like a 2000s-era barbie movie to me right now, in the best way possible. there's an amazingly predictable sexy villain, cute little flying creatures that follow you around, and every conflict is, of course, solved via clothes in one way or another. My absolute favorite thing about the writing, though, is how blatantly earnest it all is. at no point does the game poke fun at its own wacky concept or even attempt to make some self-aware joke about it to the player--it plays everything completely straight, and in this aspect it almost feels MORE self-aware. it knows that the kind of person who wants to play a dressup rpg is also the kind of person who does not, under any circumstances whatsoever, want to be questioned or made fun of for their love of fashion or their engagement with that game. It very much feels like the devs know that they're working with primarily girls and young women and a subject matter that those girls and young women are often looked down upon or made fun of for seriously engaging with, and so it promises to engage EXTRA-seriously to make up for that. (side note: there's one point in a story quest where, when asked to make a wish, nikki wishes that all girls never get cramps again. that was when i knew this was a game that knew its audience.) If I wanted to nitpick, i might say that every quest so far has sort of felt like an increasingly ridiculous trading sequence--you learn what you need to do very early on, but you'll always spend several hours of gameplay encountering obstacles and doing other smaller tasks to circumvent those obstacles so you can reach your original goal. this might annoy me more if the game was trying to market itself as a serious RPG, but it seems very self-aware to me, and despite how i'm describing it none of the quests ive played have actually FELT tedious. I think the fact that it's such a wild concept to begin with gives the writers a bit of leeway in how they handle the story quests, and because I as the player am aware i'm playing a dressup game I don't really expect quests to immediately get to the point and let me fight something. I will say that there are certain things that aren't super intuitive especially if you aren't a seasoned gacha rpg player, particularly the features relating to advancing your skills and the styling points of your clothing. though the game does technically explain what you need to do, it doesn't explain the RELEVANCE of the feature, just that it exists, so I had to lose multiple styling contests before I realized i could upgrade my clothing to get higher scores.
The final thing I'll talk about is performance. I'm playing the game on my iphone 13, and the performance is.... not great, i'm ngl. Off the bat, if you play the game on a mobile device, you're going to be getting a HEAVILY scaled-down version of the terrain graphics. all of those screenshots you see online of beautiful terrain full of flowers and particle effects are from ps5s or custom pcs. truthfully, the mobile app looks like a game from 2012 and it will still turn your phone into an incinerator. I've also encountered multiple graphics bugs, some during pivotal scenes, and I get consistent lags when playing for longer than a few hours, likely due to the strain on my phone's hardware. it's also an INSANE battery drain, so i only play when my phone is plugged in. All that being said, the game has been out for less than a week, so visual bugs are inevitable, and the developers have stated that mobile optimization is a priority, so hopefully we'll at the very least no longer have to overheat our devices to play it soon. Also worth noting, from what I've seen the rendering of the CLOTHING doesn't suffer AT ALL on mobile devices. presumably they sacrificed terrain rendering to allow for such beautiful texturing on the clothing itself, which, given that the clothing is the main focus of the game, I can't fault them for. Basically, if you're going to try to run an unreal engine game on your iphone, be aware that it will run like an unreal engine game on an iphone. and prepare yourself to have to let your device cool down every few hours.
tldr: i love the game so far. i'm really excited to keep playing and see where the story goes, and I think they should make more games for girls <3
#asks#infinity nikki#<3 <3 <3#did anyone here ever play style savvy as a kid? it's not the same by any means but in terms of the clothes it very much has the same vibes#in that there's a great balance of basics and complex pieces and an insane amount of styling potential. god i loved style savvy#I barely ever went to my store in that game i'd just buy out the depot over and over so i could make new outfits for my character#OH ALSO other note: I really appreciated that despite being open-world and having so much jump-based platforming the game blatantly refused#to EVER allow for panty-shots no matter what outfit nikki is in. her skirt will not fly up while she's exploring#and when you remove her clothes in the dressup menu she gets a nice tasteful little tank top and shorts set! no oversexualization here <3#again a great example of the game knowing its audience

Itâs been three months since the lights went out âwhen Tsukishima discovered your eyes were stars burning brightly in the night.
Three months where you hadnât even exchanged anything but a few glances here and there.
Three months where he had definitely been avoiding you.
The three most uncomfortable months of your entire life (and it wasnât because of the apartment that you were living in; in fact, it was by far the loveliest and calmest place you had ever slept in).
Yet, why was sharing an apartment such a difficult relationship?
But still, did you even have a relationship? A friendship, at least?

You werenât even sure what that word meant! But it certainly wasnât what your ârommate-shipâ was about. Besides, you couldnât point out when it had changed âthe âlights out incidentâ was just a funny anecdote to you: a way to remember some of your first days at your new home.
On the contrary, to Tsukishima, it was as his life had taken a huge turn: a wave of feelings had suddenly hit his heart. His emotions fluttered as he was a hormonal teenager in love. But Kei was never one of the popular jocks who had every person falling for him âhe had a few students following him around during his high school days, but they were never that seriousâ, therefore he had never felt what having feelings for someone meant.
He felt weird around you, like he was making a fool out of himself every time you shared the same air, the same room, the same bathroom! He was out of words whenever you asked him how his day had been.
Him! The Tsukishima Kei! Who wouldâve thought? Not even Yamaguchi Tadashi wouldâve, to be honest.
Tsukishima didnât know what to do anymore. His palms were always sweaty, his minds constantly occupied with thoughts about you âhe used to be so serious about volleyball practice, but it was completely difficult to concentrate when he knew that he would have to come back to meet you in the apartment! He made so many mistakes during matches that his coach even thought about benching him for a few games afterwards.
So, three months after the lights went out, he made a decision: he was moving in with Tadashi for a few days until his heart calmed down.
His best friendâs apartment was too tiny to fit them both. But a place on the couch had Tsukishimaâs name in it and he didnât bother sleeping on it âeven if it was half his size.
And there he was: bag at his feet; baseball cap on his head; mobile phone with three missing calls from his pretty roommate; and his right index finger was pressing the doorbell, repeatedly.
The door opened only to show Yamaguchi wearing his baby blue pajamas; his hair, a tangled mess.
âItâs six in the morning,â he stated the obvious. âWhatâs going on?â
âI couldnât sleep,â Tsukishima simply said as his best friend moved to the left to let him in.
âSo, you decided to pack a bag and just⊠come over?â Yamaguchi asked after closing the door behind him. âIâm sorry, Tsukki, but I just donât believe you at all.â
Tsukishima slowly made his way to the small green couch in the center of the living room area. He sat on the left side as his eyes took in his newest home.
A big plasma T.V stood in front of him, along with a coffee table cluttered with magazines, video game controllers, and a few empty snack wrappers. Yamaguchi's apartment was cozy but undeniably lived-in, unlike the sterile cleanliness of Tsukishimaâs place.
Yamaguchi sighed, rubbing his eyes before sitting down next to Tsukishima. âAlright, spill it. Whatâs really going on?â
Tsukishima hesitated, looking down at his hands. He wasnât good at thisâtalking about feelings. But he needed to get this off his chest. âItâs my roommate.â
Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow. âThe one youâve barely talked about? Whatâs wrong with them?â
Tsukishima took a deep breath. âEverything. Nothing. I donât know. Itâs just⊠every time Iâm around them, I feel like I canât think straight. Itâs affecting everything, even volleyball.â
Yamaguchi leaned back, a small smile forming on his lips. âAh, I see. You like them.â
Tsukishimaâs head shot up, eyes wide. âWhat? No, that's notâ
âTsukki, youâre not fooling anyone. Not even yourself,â Yamaguchi interrupted gently. âIt's written all over your face. You like them, and itâs driving you crazy.â
Tsukishima groaned, running a hand through his hair. âI don't know what to do, Tadashi. I can't keep living like this.â
Yamaguchi patted his friend's shoulder. âYou need to talk to them. Maybe they feel the same way.â
âI canât," Tsukishima said firmly. âI don't want to make things awkward. Itâs bad enough as it is.â
âThen you need to find a way to deal with it,â Yamaguchi said. âRunning away isnât going to help.â
Tsukishima knew he was right. But the thought of confronting his feelings, and you, was terrifying. âI just need some time away. To clear my head.â
Yamaguchi nodded. âAlright, you can stay here for a few days. But promise me youâll talk to them eventually. You can't avoid this forever.â
âYeah,â Tsukishima muttered, though he wasn't sure he believed it himself. For now, he just wanted to escape the turmoil inside him, even if it was only temporary.
As he settled onto the couch, Tsukishima couldn't help but wonder what you were doing right now. Were you worried about him? Angry? Did you even notice he was gone? He pushed the thoughts away, closing his eyes and trying to find some semblance of peace in the midst of his chaotic emotions.
Meanwhile, back at the apartment, you were pacing the living room, your phone clutched tightly in your hand. You had noticed Tsukishimaâs absence immediately. It was hard not to when the apartment felt so empty without him.
You had called him three times already, each time more frantic than the last. Where could he have gone so early in the morning? And why hadn't he told you?
The morning stretched into afternoon, and Tsukishima remained at Yamaguchiâs apartment, wrestling with his thoughts while Yamaguchi went about his daily routines. The quiet hum of the television played in the background as Tsukishima sat on the couch, lost in contemplation.
Then the afternoon became night, then morning again. And suddenly, two days passed without further notice.
You sat down on the couch, staring at your phone. Maybe you were overreacting. Maybe he just needed some space. But you couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.
Three months had passed since the âlights outâ incident, and in that time, you had grown accustomed to Tsukishima's presence, even if he was distant and aloof. There was something comforting about knowing he was there, in the next room or sharing a meal in the kitchen.
You had tried to break through his walls, to get to know the person behind the cold exterior. But it seemed like every time you made progress, he would retreat even further. It was frustrating, but you were determined to be patient.
As you sat there, you realized just how much you missed him. His snarky comments, his occasional smirks, even the awkward silences. It was all part of the strange, complicated dynamic that had formed between you.
Taking a deep breath, you decided that when Tsukishima returned, you would confront him. You would tell him how you felt and hope that he would finally open up to you.
âWhat if something happened to him?â you muttered to yourself, biting your lip anxiously. You knew Tsukishima was independent and capable, but the fear of the unknown nagged at you.
Finally, unable to sit still any longer, you grabbed your keys and rushed out the door. Maybe he had gone for a walk to clear his head, or perhaps he was at a nearby cafe. You had to find him, to make sure he was okay.
As you walked down the familiar streets, you replayed your interactions with Tsukishima in your mind. Despite his aloofness and occasional sharp words, you had noticed glimpses of something more beneath his tough exterior. There were moments when his guard seemed to lower, when he would share a small smile or a thoughtful comment.
But now, faced with his sudden disappearance, you wondered if you had missed something important. Had you pushed too hard, too fast? Were you the reason he had left?
Lost in your thoughts, you almost missed the familiar figure sitting alone on a bench in the park. Tsukishima sat with his head bowed, staring at his phone with a troubled expression.
Relief flooded through you as you approached him cautiously. âKei,â you called softly, unsure of how he would react.
He looked up, surprised to see you there. His expression softened slightly, but there was still tension in his posture. âWhat are you doing here?â
âIâve been worried about you,â you admitted, standing in front of him. âYou left without saying anything. Are you okay?â
What the hell? Whatâs going on with me? Tsukishima thought. Say something!
He hesitated, his gaze flickering away. âI was at Tadashiâs, and then I came to get some air. He lives ten blocks from here.â
âI understand,â you said gently, sitting down beside him. âBut you could have told me. I was really worried. Itâs been two days.â
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. âI didn't mean to cause you any concern.â
âTsukishima,â you started, gathering your thoughts. âWe've been living together for three months now, and... I feel like we barely know each other. I want to understand what's going on with you, but you keep pushing me away.â
He looked at you then, his eyes searching yours. âAm I supposed to be sorry?â he murmured. âIt wasnât my intention or anything.â
Yeah, right.
As you listened to Tsukishimaâs response, frustration and hurt welled up inside you. His dismissive tone and lack of remorse grated on your nerves, making it difficult to hold back your emotions.
âYou donât have to apologize, Tsukishima,â you replied, your voice tinged with disappointment. âBut a simple âIâm sorry for worrying youâ would have sufficed.â
He looked away, a hint of guilt flashing across his face before it was replaced by his usual aloof demeanor. âOh, forgive me for not realizing I needed to report my every move to you,â he retorted sarcastically.
âMaybe not to you,â you shot back, your patience wearing thin. âBut to me, it was. I care about you, even if you donât seem to care about how your actions affect me.â
You felt a pang of hurt at Tsukishimaâs cold response, his words cutting deeper than you expected. His aloof demeanor and sharp tongue were nothing new, but somehow, this stung more than usual.
âWeâre not even friends, [Y/N],â he continued, his tone chillingly matter-of-fact. âWeâre roommates. We donât have to get along, it wasnât on the contract.â
His dismissiveness struck a nerve, and you struggled to contain your emotions. âYouâre right,â you replied, your voice steady despite the hurt bubbling inside you. âWeâre roommates, but that doesnât mean we canât treat each other with basic respect.â
Tsukishima scoffed lightly, crossing his arms defensively. âRespect? Spare me the lecture, please.â
âYou know what?â you said, your frustration simmering to the surface. âMaybe I expected too much. Maybe I thought there was more to you than this sarcastic facade. But clearly, I was wrong.â
He glanced at you, a flicker of something unreadable passing through his eyes. âYou donât know anything about me,â he retorted sharply.
âThen why donât you tell me?â you challenged, your voice tinged with both anger and sadness. âWhy donât you let me in instead of pushing me away at every turn?â
Tsukishima looked away, his jaw tightening as if grappling with his own emotions. For a moment, he seemed at a loss for words, which was rare for someone usually so quick-witted.
âYou wouldnât understand,â he muttered finally, his voice quieter than before.
âTry me,â you urged softly, your frustration giving way to genuine concern. âI want to understand, Kei. I want to know why youâre like this.â
He met your gaze then, his eyes guarded yet holding a hint of vulnerability. âBecause itâs easier,â he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. âItâs easier than letting people in and risking getting hurt.â
Your heart ached at his confession, the walls he had built suddenly making sense. âBut thatâs no way to live,â you said gently, stepping closer to him. âClosing yourself off from everyone⊠Itâs lonely, isnât it?â
Tsukishima hesitated, his gaze dropping to the floor. âMaybe,â he admitted quietly. âBut thatâs a me problem. I donât need your help nor words of encouragement.â
You paused, taken aback by Tsukishimaâs sharp rebuttal. His words stung, cutting through the fragile moment of vulnerability he had just shared. The raw honesty of his admission had felt like a crack in his armor, a glimpse of the person buried beneath the sarcasm and aloofness.
âI understand,â you said softly, trying to keep your voice steady despite the hurt. âBut sometimes, we all need someone to lean on, even if itâs just a little.â
Tsukishima glanced up at you, his expression guarded once more. âI donât lean on anyone,â he stated firmly. âI manage on my own.â
Your heart sank at his insistence on pushing you away. âYou donât have to face everything alone, Kei,â you said gently, reaching out to touch his arm lightly. âLet me be there for you.â
He tensed under your touch, his gaze flickering with uncertainty. âWhy do you even care?â he asked, his voice tinged with a mix of curiosity and defensiveness.
âBecause I see more in you than you see in yourself,â you replied honestly, meeting his eyes with unwavering sincerity. âAnd because despite everything, I care about you.â
Tsukishimaâs expression softened slightly, though his defenses remained intact. âYouâre too persistent,â he muttered, almost to himself.
âThen, Iâll cease,â you answered, saddened by his awful attitude. âIâll be at home. Let me know if I have to start looking for another place to live, though.â
Tsukishima watched you live without even flinching. He saw your move from side to side, and deep inside, he desired for you to turn around. To come back, to beg for him. Was he always this selfish?
He should be the one to be for you, to be for your forgiveness. Three months with nothing but a few words. Three months of ignoring his roommate. Three months with an unnoticed suffering.
âThat was the saddest thing Iâve ever seen,â said Yamaguchi, arriving from behind Tsukishima. âAnd Iâve seen you reject multiple people in high school with the most monotone voice and evilness.â
Tsukishimaâs expression hardened again as he turned to face Yamaguchi. âI donât need your commentary,â he snapped, his voice laced with frustration.
Yamaguchi crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow. âWell, you clearly need something. What were you thinking, Tsukki?â
Tsukishima sighed, running a hand through his hair in exasperation. âI donât know, okay? Everythingâs just... complicated.â
âComplicated?â Yamaguchi echoed, shaking his head. âYou like them, don't you?â
Tsukishimaâs eyes widened slightly at the blunt question. âWhat does it matter?â he deflected. âThey deserve better than someone who doesnât even know how to talk to them properly.â
Yamaguchi stepped closer, his tone softening. âThen tell them that. Tell them how you feel. Itâs better than pushing them away and hurting them even more.â
Tsukishima looked down at his feet, the weight of his own insecurities bearing down on him. âIâll just ruin it all over again. I hate this.â he mumbled.
Yamaguchiâs expression softened further, empathy clear in his eyes. âYouâre not going to ruin anything by being honest,â he said gently. âYouâre human, Tsukki. Youâre allowed to have feelings and make mistakes.â
Tsukishima clenched his jaw, grappling with the swirling emotions inside him. His mind raced through the memories of the past three monthsâyour late-night cleaning sessions, your disdain for cold breakfasts and black coffee, the way you immersed yourself in the volleyball magazines he left lying around, your eyes lighting up whenever you found his name mentioned.
The way your eyes sparkled with genuine interest and admirationâit was something he had never experienced before. Something he didn't know how to handle.
He couldn't help but recall the countless times he had caught himself staring at you, wondering what it would be like to be close to you, to share more than just a living space. But he had built walls around his heart, walls he thought were impenetrable.
Taking a deep breath, Tsukishima straightened his shoulders. He knew what he had to do, even if it terrified him. Yamaguchi was rightâhe couldn't keep pushing you away and hurting you. He needed to be honest, to take the risk, even if it meant exposing his vulnerability.
As he made his way back to the apartment, he replayed the conversation he wanted to have with you over and over in his mind. He practiced what he would say, how he would say it. But as he reached the door, all the rehearsed words seemed to evaporate.
Gathering his courage, he opened the door and stepped inside. You were sitting on the couch, looking lost in thought. Hearing the door, you looked up, surprise and apprehension flickering in your eyes.
â[Y/N], we need to talk,â Tsukishima said, his voice steady but filled with unspoken emotion.
You nodded, sitting up straighter, bracing yourself for whatever was to come.
He took a deep breath, his eyes locking onto yours. âIâve been an idiot,â he began, his voice raw. âIâve been pushing you away because⊠because I was scared. Scared of getting close to someone. Scared of getting hurt.â
You listened intently, your heart pounding in your chest.
âBut the truth is,â Tsukishima continued, his voice softening, âIâve come to care about you more than I ever thought possible. Iâve been hiding behind these walls, but I canât do it anymore. I like you, [Y/N]. A lot. And Iâm sorry for the way Iâve treated you.â
Your eyes widened, tears threatening to spill over. âKei⊠IâŠâ
He took a step closer, his gaze never leaving yours. âI know I donât deserve it, but I want to try. I want to get to know you, to let you in. If youâll give me a chance.â
A tear slipped down your cheek, and you smiled through it, the weight of the past three months lifting from your shoulders. âIâve liked you too, Kei. Despite everything, Iâve always seen the good in you. And I want to give us a chance, too.â
Tsukishima let out a breath he didnât realize he was holding, relief flooding through him. In that moment, the barriers he had built around his heart began to crumble, making way for something new, something hopeful.
If he was the moon, he hoped the stars would never leave his side again.
