I just unwrapped some lasagne to have for breakfast!! I love my new deep pan because it allowed me to make a 9 layer lasagne!! It was huge and delicious 😋 I filled it with seasoned hamburger and sausages and homemade ricotta cheese. I made a delightful marinara sauce. I also used freshly grated parmesan reggiano, pecorino romano, mozzarella, and caciocavallo cheeses. There were mushrooms, onions, green peppers, basil, oregano, bay leaves, salt, pepper, parmesan reggiano rinds, and freshly minced garlic in the sauce. I better go heat this up because I'm making myself very hungry. I love lasagne for every meal!! ❤️ as my friend's Italian grandma used to say to me as a kid, mangia, you're too skinny. I'm not as skinny as I was then, but I've eaten a lot of lasagne since then so.... 😁🤣😋😍

Ok so the thing about being Italian is, from the time you're a child, your parents and grandparents constantly tell you that cooking someone a good Italian meal is the way to win their heart and get married.

Tonight I actually proved that right.

I met a guy on a dating app who said he's a cat dad. Looks handsome af, so we matched and started talking.

The guy LOVES pasta and pizza. I told him I learned from my mother how to make pasta and pasta sauce from scratch, seeing that my Italian grandparents and great grandparents and so on have taught the sauce recipe to every generation for over 100 years now. I mentioned that I use natural ingredients for the pasta which I get from local farmers, and told him I just love to fuckin cook Italian food.

Well uhhh... I might just be on the path to a relationship now. The dude says I seem awesome.

Thank you, my Italian ancestors lol! Y'all have your first gay descendant who will do his best to be a good house husband someday, cooking the pasta and garlic crust pizza and all the polenta and chicken parmesean!

I make two pizzas, one with pesto and lots of cheese, one with Heinz garlic crisp and cashews. During, I learn Italian from Duolingo. Don't @ me, mainly because I only know the one tense so far. :D

Also pipe that one big air bubble. It goes all the way to the pan.

My friend and I tried a new restaurant in the North End tonight, and, upon being let in and sat, I was like, 'Hey, I think I recognise this space, or its layout. I'm pretty sure it was Davide on Kitchen Nightmares.'

It was!

To be fair, there aren't a tonne of underground restaurants in the North End (I was so afraid the cigar bar had closed and it had opened in its space without me hearing about it), so that narrowed it down, but I did recognise the stone walls and where the kitchen was in relation to the dining room, even though the space has changed hands a few times since Davide went out in 2014.

There's nothing as great as New York pizza 🍕 😍😋 it's sooooooo good. I love how the crust is light and crispy and bends easily. Now, I need some pizza 🍕 New York pizza, that is. 😁 I've eaten pizza all over the world, and New York pizza is the best in the world.
