-EVERYTIME YOU NEED GAS FOR YOUR CAR
-Go into gas station, find refrigerator, find healthy section-Grab packet of two wet hard-boiled eggs, preferably with salt, if no salt, you can get packet of salt from the little table -If sad at gas station, get breakfast sandwich, look at eggs, 50% chance to get eggs, you will know if you want them or not, but even if not, look at them-Every second wednesday, when driving back from therapy, get muffin - not every wednesday get muffin, but always get eggs- look around to see if in sweet or salty mood, then go get the eggs-protein chips
-POST WORKOUT
-Once a week, after workout, treat time-usually a bagel- Asiago bagel, egg, bellpepper, ham, Chipotle mayo, and chedder cheese-can also be breakfast sandwich or muffin-rarely, can be a restaurant you haven't tried, go and get treat
-LATE NIGHTS, AKA YOURE HUNGRY BIT YOURE SUPPOSED TO HO TO BED
-after 9-10, past dinner, back in breakfast sphere- Eggs, turkey bacon, breakfast bites, fruits, ect-make eggs-either scrambled with spinach or cheese, can be with or without a wrap with meat - can also be an omlette- omlette is made with thyme and garlic pepper, NO SALT-can pair with turkey bacon, or finish with yogurt-can justify a 4th yogurt this late-tummy will hurt
-SKINCARE

For people who don’t know, I was vegan for two years, vegetarian five years, and then have been pescatarian for the last three years. Yes, that’s 10 years without eating any type of meat. Even as a pescatarian, I ate a mostly vegetarian and plant based diet at home. Eating fish was very rare for me.
I have never been healthy. I was severely malnourished. I could not afford to feed myself. I was poor and had a limited diet. It sucked!! So about a week ago I said fuck it and stopped my diet. I started eating meat again because it was more accessible for me. It was not an easy choice and I hated that me being poor stopped me from being able to have the diet I wanted.
I want people to understand that I DID enjoy being on a mostly vegetarian diet. It was great! I loved it. However, I wasn’t able to adequately feed myself and was chronically malnourished. My hair was falling out, my nails were brittle and cracking, my skin was yellowish and acne filled, it was bad. But I did it because it was all I knew since I was 10 years old. I felt bad for quitting.
Everyone’s diets are valid. But as someone who’s tried multiple diets and is chronically ill, I can say with confidence that it did not help my health. Now it’s been a week and I am finally not hungry. I already feel healthier.
Being pescatarian was not for me. It doesn’t mean it doesn’t work for other people. Go you if you’re vegetarian or vegan, or pescatarian, or whatever. But don’t judge people for their diet choices. It isn’t good and doesn’t make you look good.
Do what’s best for you and your health only.

some advice that helped me
-Stick to exercise, but only if you have enough energy for it and it won't harm you. Plus, finding exercise that you enjoy helps a lot
-Track 'daily activity', like grocery shopping or cleaning, you burn more than you'd think, because it's always a little but it adds up. Watch your progress
-Have seggs. If you enjoy it, do it. It's a proper workout and burns lots of calories
-Sometimes give in to your cravings. In a way that if you feel like you need that one piece of chocolate, just eat it. It's better to eat one piece of chocolate than finding some low calorie food for the moment and ending up binging. Better 50cals for chocolate than 3000calories for a binge. But just eat little of it. Every bite will taste the same, so why would you want more?
-Find comfort foods. In best case high volume, high nutrition and low calorie. Fruit and veggies are good, but find ways you enjoy them more. Lots of it has so little calories that your stomach can be full without even 150 calories
-Have metabolism days. For me personally I always lose lots of weight after a metabolism day and if you eat 300cals more than the amount of calories you would need without restriction it won't show if it happens once
-Keep in mind that 1kg=7000cals and 1lbs=3500cals. You won't gain weight as quickly as it feels. If it's water weight it's great, you'll lose it quickly
-Stay hydrated. It gives you so much energy and diet drinks can help with cravings sometimes. Btw non sparkly drinks will not make you feel bloated if you don't chug it down too quickly. Don't be scared it'll make your stomach look big, that's what calories do, not water
-Take Pictures to track your progress. After a while you'll see how much your body changes and it's so lovely to see
-Look at pro ana stuff and thinspo. Keeps up motivation
-If you ate too much for one meal it doesn't matter. Whether you want to exercise after that or just be better tomorrow, don't give up
-Don't you dare to body shame anyone. Don't project your own insecurities onto others
-Take care of hair, nails and skin. I'd recommend rosemary water for hair (helps strengthen it and makes it thicker)
-Stay healthy. Don't get yourself in danger. It'll be fine. Neither doctors nor the people at your funeral would give a damn about whether you're skinny or not, so always be fucking careful. You're beautiful, even if you're struggling at the moment. Just keep your head up and look at how perfect you're getting now

My Six Week Plan!
I have six weeks between the start of my Summer term at uni, and the start of my Summer holidays. I have created a plan to become the best self I can in that time, and I will be updating here every day.
The Goals!
In general, my goals are pretty simple; lose weight, get my skin as clear as I can, and pass my approaching exams. More specifically though, I want to be happier. 🩷
The Methods!
To lose weight, I plan on following a mostly liquid diet, with low calorie snacks to help feel full. (DISCLAIMER! This is not healthy and I do not condone this method to lose weight. I am not following it long-term.) I also plan on going to the gym 3-6 times a week, following a low-intensity workout plan that I have designed to be compatible with my chronic pain/disability.
To clear my skin, I have an appointment booked with my lovely GP to talk about medicated skincare. I am also going to try and stick to a skincare routine (which I'll admit I've never been great at), drink more water instead of diet coke, and sleep with my hair up to prevent any oils rubbing off on my face overnight.
To pass my exams, I am going to make notes every day on learning resources I can find online (since the lectures at my uni don't work for me). I am also going to chew gum during these sessions, and then chew the same flavour of gum in my exams. I'm not set on the idea, but I might also pull an Elle Woods read/watch my revision material while I'm working out.
The Rewards!
I work best with external motivation, so for every day that I stick to this plan I will move something small from my online wishlist into my cart, and checkout every week. I will also start going to the salon every fortnight to get my hair/nails done, but only if I've stuck to the plan the whole time.
The Exception!
Let's be honest, bettering ourselves is exhausting. So I will have one day a week when I don't need to follow the plan. This will be Sunday. I decided this because Sundays are quite busy for me, so I won't be able to spend time at the gym or working. I also always bake on Sundays, so I won't be sticking to my diet either.
I'll be updating here at the end of every week, talking about how well I've stuck to the plan and including a weigh in and talk about any noticeable improvements in my skin. I'm not sure when I'll get my exam results back, but I'll post them here when I do.

Iron, a vital mineral, plays a pivotal role in maintaining our overall health and vitality. It’s an essential component of hemoglobin, the protein responsible for carrying oxygen from the lungs to all parts of the body including the brain and muscles. Iron also plays a role in converting sugar to energy, boosting the immune system, aiding in cognitive function, and supporting healthy skin, hair, and nails.
Iron deficiency is a prevalent condition that can lead to a whole host of symptoms. Some of these symptoms are well known – heart palpitations, fatigue, weakened immunity, shortness of breath and weakness. Other symptoms can include anxiety and low mood, restless leg syndrome, and cognitive changes. There are so many factors that contribute to our health, but it is important to make sure that nutrient deficiencies are not contributing to your overall symptom picture. Iron deficiency is a big one to watch out for especially in menstruating individuals. Blood testing for a CBC and ferritin are easy and affordable and should always be part of your routine examination.
Causes
Iron deficiency can arise from several factors including inadequate dietary intake, poor absorption, increased demand during growth or pregnancy, blood loss such as menstruation, or genetic causes.
Sometimes we struggle to get enough iron in the diet – maybe it is due to dietary restrictions or just a busy schedule; this combined with inadequate absorption can make it challenging to maintain the levels of iron that the body needs. GI absorption can be affected by a number a factors – SIBO, leaky gut, gut inflammation, IBD, IBS, stress (the list goes on)! Working on gut health is always a priority for laying a strong foundation for health, but this can take time and sometimes we need to shift our treatment approaches to best support the immediate needs.
Blood loss from menstruation is a major contributor to iron deficiency in women. It can feel like an uphill battle to build up iron stores with oral supplements and unfortunately the body will tend to have heavier periods of bleeding when we are low in iron! Additionally, some individuals may inherit traits that make them more prone to iron deficiency making it even more challenging to maintain the iron that your body needs.
Treatments
Oral iron supplementation is a necessary part of ongoing treatment for many. Oral Iron comes in a wide variety of forms and the main side effect reported with use is digestive upset, namely constipation. Vitamin C can help to offset this effect as it is a natural laxative and Vitamin C additionally helps iron to absorb.
The bisglycenate form is known for being the gentlest and least likely to have this effect, though some find that a plant-based iron is the only thing they can tolerate orally. Most find that if they split their dose up and take it throughout the day, the side effects are much more tolerable. It is best to talk with your physician to decide with option and dosing is best for you and your body.
B12 and Folate are crucial co-factors for red blood cell production so having adequate B vitamin supplementation is important in support iron deficiency and anemia as well.
Dietary Considerations
Foods high in iron include red meats (beef, lamb, pork), poultry, fish and shellfish, eggs, nuts, dried fruit, whole-meal pasta and bread, iron-fortified cereal, legumes (black beans, lentils, chickpeas), dark leafy green vegetables (spinach, broccoli), oats, tofu.
Vitamin C aids absorption (such as the supplement, or foods rich in Vitamin C, such as: apples, pomegranates, oranges, orange juice, cantaloupe, strawberries, grapefruit, kiwi and other Vitamin-C rich foods).
Cook in a cast-iron skillet, pots or pans to add extra iron to your food.
AVOID at the time of iron supplementation as these things that reduce the absorption: Dairy, calcium supplements, black tea, nuts, soda, chocolate, coffee.
Iron Infusions vs Oral Supplementation
Iron infusions bypass your digestive tract and can be helpful in those who have absorption issues or who get an upset stomach with oral supplements. Most find rapid benefit in mood, energy, brain fog and general sense of well-being when they receive a needed iron infusion.

Insurance companies are variable in whether they will cover an iron infusion. Typically, they will only cover these through a specialist, called a Hematologist, often within Oncology Departments. There are specific cut offs for ferritin and CBC parameters for insurance to cover these treatments, but people are often significantly symptomatic well before labs will reflect cuts offs for insurance coverage.
