Hector let the cool wind of the evening enter his lungs, and calm the beating of his heart. The cold stone he was leaning on felt soothing under his arms. How little the world used to look before, from the Castle's bridge. So high from the ground he could barely see it. Dracula's Castle was a monstruous beast that he thought he had tamed. And yet, after so many years, he found himself feeling like a child again. So little and weak between it's claws.

The world didn't feel small anymore. On the contrary... it was looking way too big for him.

"So..." a calm voice raised from behind him, "The day has finally arrived, huh...?"

Hector watched the sun set in the horizon, as someone took place beside him.

"Adrian..."

"Please, call me Alucard."

A low chuckle escaped the Forgemaster's throat as he propped his head on one hand, looking at the newcomer. His hair floated in the wind like it was part of it, the last rays of the sun shining on those golden locks... he looked most alive in the last hour of the day.

"First you reject the title 'young master', now the name 'Adrian'..."

The dhampir didn't move. As if he was afraid of looking at him, he kept his eyes locked on the horizon. For a few seconds, the wind gently hitting their ears was all they could hear.

"...what brings you here, Alucard?" Hector finally asked as he turned back to the sun.

"I heard you were leaving to confront the Belmont."

"Correct. Your father, if you still consider him as such, has ordered me to kill him," The vampire lord's voice still resonated like thunder in his mind, "Is there a problem?"

"No..." He could not hide the slight hesitation from Hector, "I'm just... feeling conflicted..."

"Why?" The air hung heavier between them, now, "Is it concern for my safety? Are you afraid I might lose?"

The dhampir sighed and shook his head, "In order to lose, you'd have to fight him to begin with."

So, he has been caught. Thinking of it, of course Alucard would be the one to see right through him. Lord Dracula was too obsessed with his revenge, and Isaac too obsessed with Lord Dracula, to even care about what could be going on in his head. Not that he didn't make it clear in more than one occasion... he would have waste less of his saliva talking to the walls.

"I knew you'd leave, one day." Hector listened carefully, finding unusual for the dhampir to break the silence. That was his job, usually. "I hoped for it. You deserve better than this life... But.... now that the time has come... I feel... Confused. It's not that I'm unhappy... It's..."

The Devil Forgemaster couldn't help a smile from cracking his lips. The Prince was known for being difficult to read, with the ease he had to stay calm and seemingly emotionless in most circumstances. But there was no hiding the way his shoulders tensed up to him. Nor the discreet tapping of his fingers on his thigh. Even his eyes, he so desperately tried to keep control of, betrayed his thoughts. Hector wondered how he ever managed to miss all those signs.

"It's..." the dhampir repeated, furrowing his brows.

With just one step, Hector's shoulder touched his friend's. "I'll miss you too, Alucard."

The wind was not strong enough to rid either of them of the weight they carried. Still, Alucard's shoulders lowered as he let out a small sigh.

"You know... I kinda wish you'd come with me..."

"I can't."

"I know. Because you're not as cowardly as I am."

For so long, he had praised himself for being above many. Above the ones who made him suffer, and those who'd run away at the sight of his shadow. Fear itself avoided him for years, but the moment Lord Dracula's true nature started to show...

"I don't think you are..." said Alucard, slowly turning to him.

Hector's breath was shaking as he took in more of the cold wind. The sun was almost completely gone, now, promising a much more cruel night... he closed his eyes, as if the courage he needed could be found in the darkness.

It was the case, once... he drew strength from what he considered his home... but now, all he wished, was to escape from it.

"Well..." he opened his eyes again, and turned to his friend, patiently waiting for him. His arms moved on their own, inviting him closer. "One last embrace before I go?"

For how rarely it showed itself, Hector welcomed the dhampir's smile like a precious gift.

"Of course."

Body pressed against body, as arms wrapped around each. Whether his death was near or not, Hector was going to treasure this memory for how long as fate would allow him. The safety he once found in Dracula's arms, had now moved to his son's owns.

His heart sinked, knowing he'll have to go on without either.

"Be safe, Hector..." the dhampir's voice murmured, "Live, and be happy."

"I'll do my best..." Hector responded in kind, "Good luck to you, Alucard. You... you were the closest thing to a brother I ever had..."

Alucard's hold around him tightened. "...You were... the only brother I ever had."

The cold was not what caused Hector to tremble.

Cuphead and Mugman may have their differences, and sure they sometimes squabble over the simplest of things as most siblings go but despite their disagreements and odds, they are still family. Two brothers who are also the best of friends who will always look out for one another.

Whatever the quarrel, the both of them will always find a way to put aside their disagreements and reconcile with a heartfelt apology and a hug.

As the saying goes: everything in the past is all water under the bridge. And there’s nothing more heartwarming than the strong bound of friendship and brotherly love.

Raph are you ok?

He isn’t ok someone give him a teddy bear cause god

Raph has that constant severe fear that he’ll see one of his little brothers die right in front of his eyes cause they really got big flashy signs that says “kill me” atop their heads

His lil bros either tend to be too confident (Mikey), too reckless (Leo) or a combination of both (Donnie) and that leaves Raph to keep everything in its place, look out for enemies lurking in the shadows and make sure his lil bros don’t end up killing themselves
