How Jayce and Viktor Help Their S/O Deal with Their Depression • Headcanon
(Gif not mine)
Request: heyy :)) could you please write some jayvik x reader headcannons for how they would help reader deal with depression? -- anon
Warnings: gn!reader, depression/depressive episode mentions, nothing graphic, depression is different for everyone though I did try to keep it generalized
A.N: bit of a short one (sorry about that lol), please remember that there are people here to listen to you--don't suffer in silence, you are amazing
•
Jayce and Viktor were no strangers to bouts of depression and depressive episodes. It was something Viktor struggled with from a young age and something Jayce started dealing with when he became Piltover’s Golden Boy. As a result of this, Jayce and Viktor are able to help you in any way you need
Considering there are many ways depression can present itself, Jayce and Viktor ask you questions on what you think would help you the most. If you like grand gestures, they will happily do anything for you. On the other hand, if you want something more subdued or just a shoulder to cry on and am ear to listen, they are absolutely there for you
Jayce and Viktor compliment each other as partners pretty well because what one may lack, the other makes up for. Jayce isn't the best with words and actually getting what he's thinking out. He is absolutely in awe of your very being and he is so in love with you, but seeing you hurting is just so painful for him--he believes that he could never accurately describe how much you mean to him in words. That being said, he is great with physical comfort. If you need to simply lay in bed with someone's arms wrapped tightly around you, Jayce is perfect for that. He loves rocking you back and forth, hands rubbing circles across your back, lips pressed to your forehead. If you need a good cry, Jayce's muscular body is perfect for that
Viktor is mostly the other way around. He is great with explaining himself while not one for massive physical expression. He is the one that will sit you down in front of him, amber eyes staring into your own, while giving you the reassurance that you need. Viktor will hold onto your hands and listen to everything you say and also have actual advice for you. He may not know all the answers, he says, but he'll be with you every step of the way
They both do little things to remind you how much they care about you; like bringing home little trinkets or flowers for you or sometimes they'll cook or get your favorite food for dinner. If you need a distraction and are up for it, they'll take you on a walk down the streets of Piltover, maybe to find a bar or a little shop that you can explore. Anything that'll get your mind off of it
While Jayce and Viktor (especially Viktor) are workaholics, they would drop anything and everything for their partners. Your partners will happily bring their work home, no matter how many notebooks filled with scribbles and various equations they have to heave out of the lab. They know that you're going to feel guilty for pulling them out of the lab, and they shower you with reassurances that it's perfectly ok. Jayce will remind you that even Viktor needs work-from-home days (whether it be for his own mental health reasons or his physical health). Jayce will also make little comments throughout the day like "I'm glad we're working from home today, I can wear comfortable clothes instead of that stuffy councilor's jacket" or "Coffee just tastes better at home than in the lab"
It pains the both of them to see you suffering but they know from experience that sometimes there are just bad days. They are never disappointed in you if you're having a depressive episode or just a low-energy day. Just remember that they love you--they are always there for you no matter what

DREAMQUEST EPISODE TWO! “Hello, and welcome back to dreamquest! I am your host Jennie and I’ll continue to be here this whole time.” She laughs and continues to talk, “So if you haven’t saw already, a few days ago dreamquest’s social media manager posted a notice on weverse saying that trainees Lola and Mimi will no longer be joining us this point forward.” “I hope that they are doing well and taking care of themselves.”
“Since two trainees have dropped out and only one trainee was supposed to be eliminated, there will be no eliminations in this episode, instead that will be after episode three, so stay tuned.” Jennie explains as she clears her throat to continue. “Now, let’s hear from our judges and trainers, they will be critiquing the performances of each group. So let’s get started!”
Jennie walks over to the judges panel, and begins talking, “First, let’s hear from the spectacular Judy! Good afternoon, Judy, what did you think of the teams?” She smiles and waits for Judy to pick up the mic.
Team Fancy disappointed Judy somewhat, “They performed beautifully but,” she paused pressing her lips together, “I kind of expected more. However, Zarha and Dulcie really shined, their voices took me off guard.” she said, “I wish I saw more of Miyu, though.” she added before sighing. About Midas Touch, “I was blown away,” she began, “They danced well but their voices were amazing. Yurina and Lo were phenomenal.” she explained, “I would've loved to see more of Rin, if she had more lines I do think she'd've s made a bigger impact on me.”
Similar to Fancy, Pink Venmon didn’t blow her away, “In short, I enjoyed it, they performed confidently and I loved that .” she said, “The line distribution shocked me a little, it made it feel more like a song by Sasha and Yurim featuring Yoon and Mimi instead of a group performance.” she admitted, “Regardless, Sasha caught my eye immediately. She was extremely confident, basically oozing it. Hopefully, we can see more of Yoon next time.” Judy couldn’t help but smile when thinking about Illusion, “By far my favorite performance. The choreography for Illusion is difficult and I think they did extremely well.” she answered, “It was captivating; the choreo, the singing and the dancing. I enjoyed how well their voices melded together, I think it added to an already addictive song.” When asked which team she believed had the best performance, Judy voted for Team Illusion!
“Thank you for your input, Judy!” She smiles and moves to the judge next to Judy, Poppy. “Poppy, my love! Please tell us what you thought of each performance” Poppy clears her throat and begins to talk, “For this being the trainees’ first performances in dreamquest,” Poppy nods slowly, the corners of her lips raising into a genuine smile, “everyone did quite well. I am impressed. It makes looking forward to your future performances even more exciting.”
“But of course, I have something to say.” she says, raising a dainty hand to adjust her glasses. “I understand that this is a survival show, and what matters here is proving yourself worthy of debuting alongside other talented individuals. However, I feel most of you are struggling to find,” she pauses, searching for the right word, “…harmonization within your teams. Remember, you are not debuting solo; you will be debuting in a group. I am not suggesting that you need to be best friends or hold back from showcasing your talents. But if you want your team or yourself to get closer to the final line-up, seek some form of harmonization. Work towards agreement and acquaintanceship to perform at your best together.”
“Of course, it’s up to you whether you maintain this… ‘companionship’ after a performance,” she shrugs. Poppy was once a trainee, after all. She is pretty much aware that it isn’t ideal to wear rose-colored glasses in a survival show. “But if you want your team and yourself to win, act as one. At least during the actual performance.” With perfect posture, Poppy sets her hands on her lap and lets her eyes trail over the trainees. when she finds the ones she is looking for, she smiles, “I have my eye on some of you, not going to lie. Can’t wait to see more of you.” she says, her gaze lingering a little longer on Liz, Sasha, Lo, and Yoon. “Keep working hard.” She gives everyone a little bow of respect. “Good luck to everyone with the voting and your future performances. When asked which group had the best performance, she chose Team Pink Vemon!
“Thank you for that, Poppy! And i totally agree with you, you all are not here to debut as soloists so it’s very important that you and your fellow trainees look cohesive and as a team, otherwise in the future if you do end up debuting it’s not going to look natural.” She quickly explains and moves on to the last judge of the bunch, successful soloist, Vernoika!
Veronika looked at the tablet before her, showing Team Fancy’s performance first. Her eyes sharpened as she looked at the trainees dancing, jumping from left to right like she was trying to find a mistake. The camera would occasionally catch her grimacing at the poorly done note, and as soon as one trainee stepped wrong, her gaze would be stuck on the specific girl. Once in a while, Veronika would write something down in her notebook, all while still keeping her eyes on the tablet.
She patiently waited until the performance ended before taking her earphones out. “Okay,” she trailed the last part, and one staff member behind the camera sighed as if they knew what would happen. “Well… I liked the line distribution!” she says enthusiastically. “But if they had focused on the timing of the dance routine and projected their voices more confidently, this performance would’ve been magnificent! Something is missing here, but overall, it was a nice start for all five trainees.”
Veronika’s quick-to-play the other performance from Team Midas Touch. This time, however, she was watching the routine with more contentment. Once again, she’d randomly write something in her book while the dance went on. Her eyes sparkled once Yurina sang the high note effortlessly, and the trainees did the song's last chorus. Veronika took off the earphones the moment they posed, clapping despite only her and the other staff members being in the room. “Oh, now I can definitely see this team as Kiss Of Life’s younger sisters!” She praised. “This trainee did well; all four of them did. I’m glad. I just wish some of them didn’t look nervous; it was visible in their eyes. Other than that, amazing performance. I’ll keep an eye on you, Team Midas Touch!” She playfully glared at the camera before laughing it off.
While watching Team Pink Venom’s performance, Veronika looked divided between pausing mid-through the video or letting it play. However, she decided to be patient and let the girls show what they’ve got. “Well,” she hesitates after the performance, “the line distribution is… yeah,” Veronika decides on that as her answer. “No, I mean, we all know that this line distribution is generally weird, even when Blackpink originally recorded it. But don’t be discouraged; even with fewer lines, you guys still shined! The rapping was good, despite the trainees looking worried. There's a lot of potential here, and I'm excited to see how you'll grow.”
And lastly, Veronika played Team Illusion’s performance. Right from the get-go, the girl couldn’t help but mouth the intro while dancing haphazardly. She watched every girl individually, trying to see if there were any mistakes. So far, she couldn’t find much. As the girls performing struck a pose at the end, Veronika clapped for them, “Wah~ This was refreshing! I think I enjoyed it almost the same as Team Midas Touch’s performance, which says a lot!” She looked down at her notes, going through them to see what she hadn’t mentioned yet. “Oh! I really liked the girls' vocals, and you know what they say; the show saved the best for last!” Veronika winked, laughing once her staff member playfully cringed, “I think these girls have a lot of potential, and hopefully, they stay in the competition to show what else they can do!” When Veronika was asked which team she believed had the best performance, she chose Team Midas Touch!
“Thank you Veronika, and thank you again, judges! I hope the trainees really take into account and listen to what they were told, after all if you don’t listen to criticism, how will you ever improve? Right?” She laughs and walks off the stage, the episode is transitioned into a room, the confessional and we see the one and only Jangmi, who was under a little bit of fire after a recording of her venting her frustrations with her cousin’s, Rin’s lack of line’s in the trainees first ever performance, Genie.”
“Welcome to the dungeon, Jangmi.” A female voice laughs and then speaks again “No, I’m just kidding, I know you were mad at my bosses for the line distribution, but, hey! It got better, did it not?” Jangmi side eyes her and sits down, “Anyways, you’re here because we want to hear what you thought of the performances essentially.” Jangmi nods and begins to talk, "In all honesty, the girls' vocals as a whole were alright for the most part. A few of them stood out more from the others, such as Yurina, but some of them need to work on their live singing skills some more. They really need to project more and use their diaphragms. I could barely hear them while they were performing sometimes, and that was especially the case for Team Fancy. A lot of the girls on that team are great dancers, but their vocals are lacking and some of them barely have the stage presence to actually catch someone's eye. Only a select few on that team actually impressed me, unfortunately. But in my opinion, Team Midas Touch was incredible. Hana and Yurina are very captivating, while Rin is such a great dancer. She moves like water almost, and she's so expressive. And no, I'm not saying that because she's my cousin, so don't jump to conclusions." The unknown female nods and laughs, agreeing with her. When Jangmi was asked which team she thought had the best performance, she chose Team Midas Touch, too!
The episode does another transition, this time showing Jennie sitting down, drinking some juice while she sits down on the makeup and hair chair. “I know ya’ll are sick of seeing me,” she laughs and sips some of her juice, “but! I just got informed that the team who majority voted for is Team Midas Touch! What this means is that along with the judges and the trainers, the trainees who were apart of that group’s performance are allowed to participate in voting for the next song that they would like to do for the next performance! Isn’t that fun? That also means that Rin, Yurina, Hana, and Lo are safe for the time being!”
“Right now I have to go get Yurim and Yedam because after you guys voted for duo’s you’d like to see and what activities you want tnem to do, they were the ones chosen!” Jennie gets up from the chair and shows off her outfit and begins to walk outsides towards the dorm units, that is where the trainees live! She first heads to dorm two, that’s where Yedam, Jisu, and Hana roommate together, she knocks on the door softly three times and comes face to face with Jisu, who almost fainted after seeing her. “Jisu?!” Yedam yells as she walks over to see what had Jisu so startled and she gasps once she see’s Jennie, “oh my god, come in!” She awkwardly smiles as she lets Jennie into their dorm, Jennie makes little chit chat and tells Yedam to come with her to walk to dorm four. She collects Yurim, who in room four, rooms with Sasha and Rin.
“I know ya’ll are a little confused as to why I’ve just got you from your dorms, but it was decided from votes that you two be the first duo to partake in activities! And since there was no elimination today, you can just relax,” she smiles and continues telling them that they will be going to an arcade and then to a cat cafe, she also tells them they will be filmed.
DREAMQUEST EPISODE CONTINUED Once situated in the car, Yurim and Yedam sit in the back of the car, they talk about each other’s performances and play Dress to Impress while waiting to make it to the arcade. Once making it to the arcade they got their wristband on, showing they had unlimited tickets to play any game that they’d like to play.
Dreamquest’s producers rented out the arcade so that it could only be Yurim and Yedam there. After playing many games they finally stopped at the claw machine. “It’s probably going to be a scam, Yurim” Yedam says as she tucks her hair behind her ear. “I know but pleaseeee, for me?” Yurim gives her the biggest puppy dog eyes as long as possible and Yedam finally cracks after three minutes. “Fine, this better be worth it.” She sighs, “It will! I promise! I’ll put it on my bed and sleep with it, annd you can get the other one so we can match!” She laughs and watches as Yedam puts her wristband by the side of the machine so they can detect that she’s going to play it. What she’s talking about are two sanrio plushies, one being cinnamoroll and the other being hello kitty! Yurim wanted them so that they could have something to remind them of their fun day, the cinnamoroll plushie would be her’s, while the hello kitty plushie would be Yedam’s.
Once she won the plushie’s after many many tries Yurim immediately hugged Yedam, thanking her so much time which caused the editors to add that “Listener Yedam + Yapper Yurim ㅋㅋㅋ” subtitle. It has now been two hours since they’ve been ag the arcade and their staff member whose supposed to be their “chaperone” tells them that they will now be going to a cat cafe so that they can get something to eat, instead of just snacks.
The scene then cuts to them in the car and in traffic, Yurim and Yedam watching Netflix on Yedam’s phone, currently catching up on “My Demon” when Yurim realizes the camera is on again and says “I’m Hong Yurim,” Yedam looks up, smiling and seeing what she’s doing, she decides to join in, “and I’m Do Yedam, and you’re watching Disney Channel” both of them laugh after saying that, causing both their staff member and the driver to laugh too.
Once making it to the cat cafe, Yurim grabbed Yedam’s hand, rushing both of them in there and then you hear gasping “KITYYYY!” I don’t think the viewers ever seen Yedam this happy! Yurim laughs a little at her reaction and walks up to the cashier, she orders for both of them because Yedam was occupied playing with the cats. She ended up ordering a small pizza, two frozen-yogurt and two iced-teas. With the help of the staff she carried it to where Yedam was with the cats.
They talked and ate for a bit, taking pictures of the cats and their meal, once they felt like they were there for a good amount of time, with it already turning dark outside, they walked to the car and was driven back to the dorms. Both satisfied with their day out. For it to be the first duo outing, they really set the standard high! If you want to see your duo as the next ones to go out and do activities vote right after the next episode!

Banana fish re-review ~
I did a rewatch of banana fish and oh my God I forgot how good this series was. Considering the original manga came out in the 80's in JAPAN, it was SO ahead of its time. One of the best depictions of gay characters I've ever seen in Japanese media, even by today's standards.
Some more silly thoughts:
Like yoshida just casually dropped a manga with an insanely progressive take on the bl genre by showing a complex queer interracial relationship with incredibly well-written characters. Honestly the fact that ash and eiji's relationship wasn't explicitly defined as romantic is a plus imo. Not being able to rely on obvious romantic gestures like kissing, hand-holding, romantic confessions, etc. actually forces the writer to develop their relationship without that crutch to lean on. That's why ash and eiji's relationship is so good, because it doesn't rely on surface-level romance to get across the fact that they love each other and instead use subtlety and little nuances in their interactions. It's obvious from the subtext and how much they're shown to care for each other.
Not to mention the great depiction of black characters (I know portraying black characters non-offensively is like, the bare minimum, but may I remind you this is the EIGHTIES in JAPAN, and there are so many CURRENT animes that have an issue with it).
I mean yea does it have its flaws? Sure. Ash's admittedly very lame "lynx" title that comes with many wildcat metaphors, eiji being a bit passive in the first half, sort of cringe portrayal of America, etc. but my God the way she handles the trauma and character dynamics is incredible.
Ok so I did have a uh... Not really a criticism but something that I noticed that got me thinking. I feel like some shows use dark subject matter as a bit of an easy way to evoke an emotional reaction from the audience. Sometimes authors give characters horrible backstories as a way to make the audience THINK the character is complex and interesting but in reality it's a bit of a lazy writing tactic. Low effort high reward kind of thing. Banana fish obviously does have brutal subject matter and ash is really put through the ringer, but I love that yoshida doesn't let that become the axis of his character. He has trauma that greatly impacts him, but he's also super developed on his own apart from that. When I think about Ash's character, I don't immediately think about the traumatic backstory parts. The balance between how significantly the trauma affects him vs making sure that's not the ONLY part of his character is extremely well-executed.
Scenes that stuck out to me (not including asheiji ones bc it goes without saying theyre all amazing)
- the interrogator playing Ash's tapes after being arrested ("later, movie star" was the most brutal line ever omg)
- max burning the photos of ash (underrated moment this was SO good),
- any and all interactions between sing and blanca (they're such an unlikely duo peak comedy right there)
- the convo between sing and yut lung in the last episode
- ash stabbing the guy in the dick with a fork
- callback to ^^^, ash stabbing the banana with a fork
- Ash's breakdown in front of dino (ep 19 I believe)
- the entirety of ash escaping from the "mental hospital" and then having to go rescue ibe and max lmaooo
- ash brutally murdering Abraham(?, the redhead guy) by blowing abt a thousand holes in him w a machine gun as payback for shorter
- ash shooting shorter
- running joke of max being Ash's dad
- everyone constantly manhandling yut lung by yanking on his hair (dude get a haircut)
- ash immediately going to shoot himself no hesitation after yut lung told him he wouldn't hurt eiji if he did so (technically asheiji but I'm keeping it since this was a yut lung and ash scene)
- "what does this picture look like?" "Your wife"
- eiji's cute stupid little outfit he wore when he went to go find shorter in Chinatown
I also have a confession:
I LOVE yut lung. Him being paralleled with ash, but instead of finding love he let hate consume him because he had no one unlike ash who had eiji was just devastating but in a good way.
So yea those are my messy thoughts after finishing it. I'd argue that it was probably one of the best pieces of queer media to exist at the time. In the world. And one of my personal favorite pieces of queer media ever.

Okay, okay. I am fine.
I am calm.
...
No i am not THE NEW HELLUVA BOSS EPISODE JUST DROPPED PEOPLE! And its fuckinG GREAT! Hell yea i am way to excited.
Mastermind is really good. Could it be better? Of fucking course, but i enjoyed it a lot, and by a lot i mean i became an overexcited toddler. I feel like i am way too emotional to logicaly think about all the stuff in this episode, but i think its the best one of this season, like no questions asked.
First of all despite many different stuff happening all of it is a part of a bigger story. I.M.P. as a found family, the systemic racism and classism, all the Sins, law enforcement in hell, the matter of demon mortality (though very briefly) Blitzos individual relationship with each member of the crew, Stolitz, Octavia and Stolas, Stella and Andre, political games played by royals, Blitzos character study and development, Stolas getting completely destroyed, Stella showing clearly how little she cares for Octavia, and some other little things. Its all shown in one, single story. I generally feel like Helluva Boss cant do AB plot format. All the episodes i find most flawed are constructed as such (Especially the fucking S02E02). And imagine how weaker this episode would have felt if the court drama wasnt the only focus. Hovewer the most exciting thing in all of this are consequences. I hope, i really do, oh please make it happen, that Stolas gets so so broken. It may sound cruel but just imagine. Right now he has lost everything for his unfortunate love interest. While at first he was in the position of power now he will be completely dependant on Blitz. No one else is going to be willing to help him. Not one royal and especially no one from lower class. He has no home, no money, no family and no reliable support system. Literally his only ally is Blitz. He is a social pariah. This is the time to face the music. To face all of the bulshit he did, how he treated Octavia, how he treated Blitz and imps in general. Its a literal role reverse. Now Blitz holds all of the power between them. Whats more he has gained a sudden respect and popularity. He finally believed in Stolas love and became fully aware of how deep his own feelings are. I can see the fucking drama. Their perspectives and feelings are once again out of sync. But this time thy have different roles to play. Blitzos have just experienced everything he ever wanted, it was probably the best day of his fucking life. And for Stolas its probably one of the worst if not THE worst.
So what i believe will happen, or rather what i want it to be. Stolas will resent Blitz at first. He will constantly wonder was saving him worth all the riddicule, isolation, dependency and most of all losing his daughter. At the same time Blitz will be way too sweet to Stolas, he will be actually loving and tender for once in his life but also unable to fully emphatize with Stolas, because he is so damn happy right now. For the first time in his live he will be seen as not a failure but a hero. This will be a source of conflict and i hope this will be a moment when both of them actually understand each other. Stolas is facing all the ostracism Blitz has been facing all his life as an imp. It have to be a paradigm shift for him. And Blitz, I think he will see how easy it is to lose the sight of whats important when he is so happy while his partner is clearly not. But to be fair, while i believe they will come back to their toxic relatonship and that Blitz will be an insensitive dick i still want to see Stolas karma more. Because Blitz has been changing, has been becoming aware of his flaws even if he wasnt succeful in becoming better. But Stolas was never succefully called out. Not in Seeing Stars, not in Apology Tour. Blitz may have told him that he treats imps bady, but the message didnt really sink. It made him wonder (as shown in "All 2 u"), but did anything change? I guess now we will have a chance to see. So yea. I really, really love to see Stolas as someone small and broken. Because i hope he it will make him develop as a character. And if thats the plan, if thats why he wasnt really called out before, than i am getting my hope and faith in the creating team back.
Now. The things i didnt like.
Most and foremost, tone shifts. The episode had some good jokes. But some of them has really destroyed the tension. The worst one is when Blitzo is thrown out and starts hitting the door. I am sorry but why put a joke in a scene that should be absolutely heartbhreaking. The helplessness should be overpowering, and yet. Second thing that kind of pissed me off was "because your life has actual worth". I think its a bit too on the nose. And another thing. This is a constant one but... why wasnt all this drama better established in previous episodes? While yes we knew imps were discriminated, and that them using grimouir is illegal it feels like ages since the topic has been seriously touched upon. Whats more the discrimination felt very inconsistent. I wish we have seen more flashed out examples of how imps are treated. Because in this ep its literally said that they are worthless, created to obey. And yet it never felt this serious before??? The mafia with imp boss completely wrecked the concept. Also it was never said just how serious punishment Blitz would be facing if the truth about grimoir came out. I didnt feel any tension. If i was expected to cry or be sad or stressed about this episode, i was absolutely not i was giddy with joy. Same problem with showing Andre or Versago(is it his name?) as characters, though its not a serious issue.
All in all i feel like the biggest problem this show is facing at this point is the lack of system. The series feels both episodic and plot driven. But at the same time what is the main plot at this point? After this episode one may think it was about Blitz changing imps hierarchical status. But was it really?? I feel like at first it was just job killing shenanigans highly focused on dynamics between characters. Then came The Harvest Festival and we became properly introduced to this idea of Blitzos bussines being a way to fight systemic opression. Then Truth Seekers, and we have exploring inside trauma. Then the show became a romance drama, letting go of most things while butchering Stolitz with the fucking Seeing Stars. I vehemetly hate this fucking episode. Half of the second season feels like trying to explain stuff left out of the first one while also fucking everything else. Starting with fucking Seeing Stars and mostly ending with Campers. All these episodes tried to explain some preintroduced topics and managed only to mostly kill all the excitment i had for them. I could list them but this post is already long. So what i am trying to say, does Helluva Boss has any end goal in mind? I think not and i belive it may be the main source of the show's issues.

I make this character analysis of Dreadwing due to the recent dragonformers post in Dreadwing tag. translated by @alicefromwhichplanet, very professional, thanks!
关于骇翼的角色分析
Character Analysis of Dreadwing (tfp)
First of all, to define the basic quality of Dreadwing as cowardice is completely wrong. A character ‘s courage cannot be judged by the strategy he uses in a certain battle. In fact, using certain risk-avoiding strategies to preserve one’s greatest values is actually an act of wisdom. A character’s courage can only be judged by his choice when faced with big challenges related to his values. Dreadwing is brave enough to challenge multiple strong enemies alone to avenge his brother (at his debut in episode 32), and eventually dies of rebelling against the leader he used to be loyal to (his last scene in episode 51). Moreover, Dreadwing has enough courage to banish himself from all mainstream social organizations, turning his back on the Decepticons without pledging allegiance to the Autobots, standing aloof from the binary opposition of camps. At least speaking from the perspective of the highly-socialized human society, I believe this choice can only be made by truly brave and wise individuals.
I see Dreadwing as a true revolutionary who kept his ideals. He is an introvert bot, which means he won’t make any major changes unless it’s 100% necessary. However, when he witnesses Megatron‘s crazy acts and loss of his original aspirations, he appears to be surprised/ disapproving. Those who know what they agree know what they disagree. Both he and Skyquake dropped out of the Decepticons for a while, so what they strongly believe should still be the early principles of the organization. This is also why they are not comfortable with the current Decepticons’ acts of pursuing victory at all cost. To oppose corruption no matter where it appears. If the corruption comes from inside the system, start a revolution from within. This is spirit of a true revolutionary.
Apart from that, I wanna stress about a harmful way in interpersonal interaction: If one chooses to bear with a problem when it is not serious, the other person may misjudge this person’s principles and capabilities and develop a hallucination that they are more powerful than the said person in the relationship. This way, when the problem escalates and when the first person shows signs of resistance / refusal, they will be cruelly suppressed, because once a power dynamics, common people won’t allow it to be overturned. This is in human nature. Dreadwing’s tragedy is partly because he committed this mistake.
最后,做角色分析时可以有偏向,但最好保持客观。不然只看到自己想看到的,乃至于自己是什么样的人,就把别人也认为是这样的,错过了其他角色的深度与复杂,是非常可惜的。
Lastly, I wanna say that one can have preferences when doing character analysis, but it is for the best keep objective. Or else, you can only see what you want to see, and even equaling who you are to who others are. You will then miss the depth and complexity of other types of characters, which is really pitiful.

my top 10 worst bits of season 5 so far have got to be:
10. adrienette becoming a thing in the worst way possible. like no previous issues were talked about or fixed, they just… became a happy perfect couple. i frl wanted them to have stuff to work through. and like arguments and problems and the like. the “getting together” bit would’ve felt so much more rewarding then.
9. felix being a “nice guy all along”. blaming it on colt’s jealousy and just having us believe he rly had his heart in the right place this whole time!!! he was just misunderstood and abused!!! rly it was his dad’s fault!!!! gestures aggressively to chloe
8. luka going to peru (iirc) to study under su-han. for reasons. u know, instead of actually thinking of how his identity knowledge would’ve affected the plot. yeah, shoving him aside to circumvent that entire thing sounds like a great idea, good job u guys! /s
7. lila having 72 identities and 35 mum’s for each one. u know the hate goes far when shawty’s prepared fake identities for when shit hits the fan. she’s obsessed with u fr
6. chloe bashing arc. totally worth my time and energy to watch yet another episode explaining why chloe sucks and i shouldn’t be a fan of her. /s
5. the other characters becoming permanent holders. it’s bad enough that alix is missing out on the rest of her childhood bc she’s been tasked to watch over time for the rest of… well, time. but instead of just fusing miraculous when need be or, and hear me out, just doing away with auxiliary heroes and powers all together, we… give the miraculous back full time with inexperienced high schoolers. idk, not even a little training at least beforehand? nothing, just: “here’s the power of a god. i’m trusting u to overhaul ur life and join me in the fight against evil permanently. no i’m not asking if u want to, u have no choice in the matter.” reminds me of someone who’s name rhymes with caster gu
4. adrien dropping his feelings for ladybug like it was nothing and marinette (temporarily) doing the same about her own crush. like what happened to the obsession and the “i’ll love u forever” and ending the world due to the strength of ur love. now all of a sudden it’s “didn’t work out x”??
3. gabriel is going to be revelled as a hero for his great sacrifice and basically given the redemption to end all redemptions. because he’s a misunderstood character who only wanted what was best for his wife and son and never rly meant to cause anyone any harm at all /s
2. chloe getting stuck with audrey as a punishment. it’s so vile i’m still trying to understand why that would ever be a good idea. remember the days when chloe was a pathetic loser of a bully who’s worst action ever was insulting marinette’s bakery for the umpteenth time? yeah, me neither
1. marinette?? keeps?? adrien’s??? amok????
#still baffled about the last thing#so many “who thought that was a good idea?” moments#someone let me in the writers room#i just rly wanna see what’s going on in there#mlb salt#ml writing salt#ml leaks

bad buddy fandom getting-to-know-you-meme!
I was tagged by the wonderful @hazmatilda to answer some Bad Buddy questions! Thanks for tagging me I feel like I don’t talk about bad buddy enough these days
name and whatever you want to share about yourself
Hii I’m Tii and like Harry I’m also an Australian!
when did you watch bad buddy/join the fandom?
I’ve been in this fandom from the very second the pilot trailer of Bad Buddy dropped at GMMTV2022. The moment i saw Pran lying on top of Pat and saying
“Do you still want us to be just friends?”
“Do you”
I was obsessed. I watched from episode 1 when the episodes finally started coming out but I wasn’t hugely involved in fandom until later on
Favourite ship/s
Somewhere along my bbs journey I got converted into a huge WaiKorn fan. Something about the dynamics mix of enemies with benefits and also best friends to lovers just really hits the spot. Also make it sound good is just so good. But also I love PatPran so so much
Favourite character/s
I gotta love Pran. Me🤝Him fr. I love a good deeply repressed hopeless romantic character who’s really going through it.
Favourite episode/s
Episode 9. I loved seeing PatPran get to date openly at university, just getting the chance to BE boyfriends and care about eachother. Sure Pat got shot but their scene in the hospital was cute and we got to see Pran + the engineering gang as well as Wai and Pat getting along. Also Pat, Pran, Pa and Ink‘a dinner >>>> . Also Ink’s flirting, I can’t believe I went there! Also Korn being the best friend to Pat, sure he teases but when it really matters he’s there for his friend.
Favourite scene/s
Other than THE scene(my thoughts about it)? I love the scene at the benches in ep 9 1/4 where PatPran are comforting eachother after their relationship is revealed, the little things from the less sweet iced tea to holding hands, Pat willing to be the heartbroken one, it was nice to see them being so free with just liking and supporting eachother after pretending not too for so long. Also ep 8 3/4 with PatPran at their houses, it’s so nice to see Pran smile so widely with his cute elevator joke and the hugs and the headphones and shirt.
One thing you would change about the show if you could
More Inkpa. Gmmtv needs to open their eyes and give us the GLs we all want. (Also waikorn canon :))
what are your some of your favorite fanworks made by other people?
Make it sound good is one of my all time favourite fics and is the reason I’m as devoted to waikorn as I am
The soulmate series actually breaks my heart into pieces I love best friends to lovers stories so so much. And I also love it when authors write both povs- you get double the amazingness!
from the tide is a wonderful magic au and I’m a massive sucker for modern magic stories and there are so many little details in this that I adore
Something about The Space Pirate and the Officer of the Law by @dimplesandfierceeyes has me by the throat idk what it is but I love it
Also you can thank @kornswasianguyswag and their amazing art for opening my eyes to the potential of the bbs OT4. I love so many pieces of his.
What are your favourite fanworks you've made?
idk I just make shitposts ok
A song that makes you think of BBS (not in the show)
Uhh. Ride Home by Ben & Ben and Juliet by Cavetown.
Im tagging @dimplesandfierceeyes and @kornswasianguyswag since I already tagged you and I love you, also @dribs-and-drabbles and @telomeke-bbs . No pressure to do it and sorry for tagging you if you’ve already done it.

Hi....If you don't mind, can I ask, what are your top 10 (or top 7) favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......Thanks....
no need to apologize! this is a great question, thank you for asking! i think i'll go with anime just 'cause it's easiest (i have a MAL and rank every series i watch from 1-10). i originally had movies in here but i think i'm gonna cut them out and just keep it to series and ovas. and "why do you love them" is an AWESOME question I never get! i don't know if i'll be able to explain myself well, but I'll try!
fullmetal alchemist ('03). why? this was pretty much my gateway anime. it's been over 10 years I believe since I've last seen any of it, so it's entirely possible that my opinion has since changed. but i definitely have nostalgia goggles on for it, and i know it is actually good, too haha
2. natsume yuujinchou (specifically seasons 6, 5, 4, and 3). why? some seasons of natsume i have rated higher than others, apparently. natsume is a special show. due to the nature of how long it is, there is the drawback that sometimes it feels like it repeats itself and tells similar stories. but even then it is just such a good story of found family and finding love after a life of strife, and it's just. very good. (i do think it should end soon though before it feels like it's just recycling old stories)
3. made in abyss. why? season 1 still stands out to me above the movie and 2. it was such a special experience. the art, the animation, the background art, the music, it all comes together to create such a fascinating world. the weak point would definitely be its characters, but even then everything else comes together so well that it doesn't really matter. it has one of the best first episodes of any anime (when the sun came up over orth and the music cued in I knew I was hooked) and I also adore season 1's ending; if the show never got a continuation, it could have ended right there and I would have been content (not a lot of other anime can say the same about their endings!).
4. steins; gate. why? it's also been a very long time since i've seen this one, so possible my opinion has changed. still, I remember being super interested after the first episode, and the following 12 that people tend to critique as being "slow" or a "slog" never really felt that way for me. there was always something fun and interesting going on. i compare this one with link click a lot, just because people tend to go the magica route and i firmly believe steins;gate is the better time travel show (though lc isn't over yet so maybe an unfair comparison. still it'd take a LOT for lc to reach anywhere near the heights of steins;gate to me). when okabe goes back over and over to try and save mayuri, i just remember being absolutely floored. really good stuff.
5. vinald saga. why? it's just such a well constructed story. and the author's comments about not wanting a world with war is so interesting, given how violent the first season is. it's really interesting to watch thorfinn grow and change (and i never understood the hate that he was too violent or annoying or a brat? he's just a kid who's lost everything, cut him some slack jeez). i love the last shot of season 1, corny as it is-- all the memories reflected on the dropping knife was great. and askeladd was one of the best villains i've ever seen. he's not even ~morally grey~ or anything; he's pretty strongly in the wrong, but his thinking and motivations and everything are so interesting and compelling. i don't think it's perfect; there are flaws for sure (i wasn't the biggest fan of how in s2 canute just. decides to turn his ships back after a small conversation with thorfinn lol) but it is very good.
6. this boy cuaght a merman. why? ok this one objectively does not deserve a 10. it's a 30minute ova about a boy falling in love with a merman. that's it. it's not incredible or amazing or ground breaking. buuuuuut it's my favorite soubi yamamoto ova and i adore soubi yamamoto and so she's getting a place on this list. she is responsible for animating, storyboarding, backgrounds, directing, etc etc everything in here, it's incredible (and she was only like 25, or something when she did it. fucking bananas). i love her please go check out her works (besides crystallization)
7. noragami. why? ok again probably not objectively THAT good, but this is one of the first anime that got me to read the manga, and here I am some 10 years later (ok a little less than 10 years because I didn't start reading the manga the year it started publishing, I think). noragami's MANGA is incredible and amazing and wonderful. but I do believe (much against the popular opinion amongst noragami manga readers) that the anime is also amazing, and YES that includes season 1. the crew behind it really loved the manga I feel (at least the director did, and there's proof for that) and adapted it faithfully and well. noragami is a story of found family and of turning your life and fate around, and it's very good.
8. she and her cat: everything flows. why? this one is only 4 episodes, 8 minutes each. it tells a story of a 20-something (actually she's still in college iirc) who lives on her own with her cat, and is trying to be an adult. but it's told from the cat's perspective. it's so sweet; the cat comments on how she "grooms herself" (brushes her hair, puts on her interview clothes) and "looks pretty" and things and it is just so great. i love the line (not a direct quote) "she opens that heavy door again today and heads out. on the other side of that door is a somewhat unforgiving, somewhat cruel world. but she's doing her best to learn to love that world. and i love her for that." just....so good (also the show made me cry)
9. yuru camp. why? second iyashikei on this list! SOL/iyashikei is actually my favorite genre of anime, generally speaking, but it can be hard to do it well. yuru camp ABSOLUTELY does it well. i read a commentary once ages ago, about how one of the great things about yuru camp is that the girls are allowed to just... be girls, and it always stuck with me. there's no fanservice, and these girls really feel like real characters who exist. there was another commentary (maybe same one?) about how rin is this introverted, more lonesome character, but she enjoys the solitude. but what's cool about yuru camp is she is never forced to change or become more extroverted; her friends accept her for who she is, nadeshiko will invite her out but not push her, and then sometimes she does go out! and she changes and becomes a bit more social, but never gives up solo camping. AND the more extroverted, outgoing character INSTEAD comes to embrace solo camping! what a cool idea, executed amazingly! so the characters are a strong point here, but the banter and camping is a lot of fun too. i still haven't watched the movie, but i'll get there eventually!
10. odd taxi. why? this one is 100% on the writing. it is so clever and quick-witted, it's a ton of fun to watch. i've never watched any other anime like it. the mystery/thriller aspects are a lot of fun too, and i remember reading reddit threads and theories on this one as it was airing. what was so cool is that they plant subtle hints that you can ABSOLUTELY catch if you have sharp eyes (i likely wouldn't have if it weren't for reading others' theories) and you can know things before characters do. lot of fun.
--
wow this was so much fun to write up! thank you so much for the question!

I have a weird take that I need to get out in the world somewhere and this appears to be the best place to do so
Everyone should have their first playthrough of a Souls game be either alone or, failing that, with someone to whom that game is the best in the series.
Let me explain.
--- Disclaimer: This is all just, like, my opinion, man ---
To start this post off, there are a few things I need to get out of the way. Chief among these is that my first Souls game was Dark Souls 2, so I'm a sicko who has absolutely NO nostalgia or overfondness for Dark Souls 1. As such, people who slob all over DS1's knob are total fucking weirdos to me, because I think the game, gameplay-wise, is the absolute worst of the entire series and the lore is, like, mid at best. To a less-important extent, I have neither fought nor beaten Artorias or played the DLC for DS1. To be quite honest, I don't think that matters very much but I know some mfers will be like "BUT HE'S THE BEST THING ABOUT THE WHOLE SERIES" to which I would rebut - then that sucks. One guy in one, fairly small (considering later releases), DLC being the best thing about a series is kinda bleak isn't it? Personally, I think that DS1 is held in such a high regard because it was the higher-profile Second of its Kind, a refined version of what was started in Demons' Souls. People nut over the interconnected world thing too, which is cool but has pretty poor implementation that makes getting anywhere and doing all the backtracking you have to do REALLY tedious. Least important is that I have not, and probably am not going to, ever played Demons' Souls. I just don't have interest in it and the gameplay is probably jankier that DS1 and I already barely have patience for that.
As a side note, Dark Souls 3, despite having what I believe to be some of the better gameplay and some of my favorite weapons, areas, music, and bosses in the series, is just the worst in that it's a fanservice game for DS1 fans and almost exclusively nothing else. Yes, they tacked some DS2 stuff in there as a pity drop for DS2 truthers but it seems to just kinda pretend that DS2 doesn't exist and is just so masturbatory that I almost can't stand it.
Glad to have these off my chest. If you're ready to discount everything I have to say from here on out based on that first paragraph, then godspeed. Continuing.
In looking to take my mind off of my current situation (see older posts for context regarding my cool disease), I decided to turn to comfort vidya games, namely playing through Elden Ring again, something I haven't done in quite a while. I'm remembering how much I love it and my playthrough, which is still going strong as of this writing, is super fun. I'm taking the game much slower than any previous playthrough I've done besides the first (this one is number 5) and am just enjoying being in the Lands Between, readily awaiting the DLC for the game that will likely come out in 2024. One of the things I've always done when I'm playing a game, specifically a game that I don't really need to pay attention to story-wise or sound-wise, I have videos or music or something on in the background. I'm sure many of you do this as well.
[QUICK SIDE NOTE: One of my more nostalgic sensory memories is when I used to do this in my room, during my high school years, playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 while watching episodes of Archer in the background. I can see the evening sun coming through my windows and it was such a warm and comfortable environment that I constantly yearn for it again, even though I know I'll probably never have another moment quite like that, carefree and cozy, just doing my thing. Eh. A guy can dream though, right? END QUICK SIDE NOTE]
What I've been having on in the background as of late are the Super Best Friends Play [insert Souls game here] compilations. These playthroughs, with the exception of Bloodborne (Pat and Woolie switching off controls on death, arguably the worst way to play a Souls game) and DS3 (Pat on the sticks and overleveling to the point of ruining the playthrough lol), are in the same format - Woolie, is on the sticks and Pat backseats, providing some context and guidance throughout. initially, for the DS2 playthrough, I was very excited because Woolie's first Souls game was the same as mine! Hey! This dude is playing it in the same order that I did! However, when I watched through it the first time, ALL Pat could do was shit on DS2 and say how much better DS1 was. In subsequent videos and playthroughs, it comes through VERY clearly and notably that this tainted Woolie's view of the entire series and greatly affected the way he interacted with it. On this watch, I formulated the above opinion.
The Souls games are so fucking good that they do NOT deserve to be ruined by someone shouting in your ear about how a different one did things better. Yes, I think DS1 is the worst of the series but even at that point, it's the worst of one of the best series of games of all time, which is still incredibly good. Obviously, the ideal way to play a Souls game is to go in completely blind and do it by yourself. But if you're playing with friends or in your Discord or something or someone is coming over to watch you play (if people still do that. GOD I hope they do), someone in the room should have that Souls game be their favorite. The game gets proper hype and no sole voice in the backseat gets to say some shit about how the fight with Artorias was better or "there's too many dudes in armor" or something about how it's "SO INNOVATIVE" that Gwyn's theme is sad piano plunks instead of epic boss music (which, to be fair, it is but shut up about it already. We get it). It's crazy to me how just one person's attitude like that can poison a perception of a game. For someone playing through them for the first time (people of whom I am EXTREMELY jealous), the initial impression is everything and every person should get to have the joy of playing through them unmarred by negativity about the game they are currently playing.
I don't know if this is anything and I don't think this argument is fully fleshed-out in this post or even really coherent. Just some dumb weird thoughts I wanted to put out there on my favorite game series.

Why are "Suspected Traitor Midoriya Izuku" fanfics so painfully cliché and nonsensical?
The ONLY villain Izuku could be implicated in working with is Stain.
I thought this little subgenre of the fandom would produce a FEW interesting deviating AUs about Midoriya starring in The Fugitive. Instead, what I found was a poorly-written story template that erases 40% of Seasons 1 and 2’s plot points to make Hurt, No Comfort fanfiction about whumpee Izuku Midoriya having panic attacks from police brutality, and then attempting suicide.
The trend popped up in 2020, during the Overhaul Arc, but the fanfics feature so little in-story information and focus mostly on information from the first 5 episodes, with a hard emphasis on middle school. It feels like a MHA whump enthusiast started telling their community about an anime featuring a bullied crybaby and they flocked over. These stories have so little understanding of the actual anime, they read more like the writers only understand the story by other people’s fanfiction. Clips of the show, at best.
So, below are common flaws in these whump stories, how they could be improved, but ultimately how dropping the "He's working with the League" plot point and having them suspect him of working with Stain is far more plausible in-story.
This is all with the FULL UNDERSTANDING that these stories are supposed to be about an innocent Izuku being persecuted, betrayed, and heartbroken so that he can fall into despair, be abused, cry crystal tears of suffering… I’m into that shit. I had already leafed through a hundred or so stories of Bakugou and Shigaraki abusing him. And I wouldn't have read SO many of THESE stories if I wasn't looking for good content... It's just that even the most popular stories on AO3 are SO weaksauce.
Elevate yourself. Do better.
Ignoring Police Procedure because the Authors Prefer Nonsensical Accusations
The authors want to get to police/UA staff beating Izuku in an undisclosed basement as soon as possible… Which I wholeheartedly appreciate, but I suppose its a matter of taste that I don't share their opinion that Izuku's heartbreak is sweeter if the accusations make no sense.
I’d prefer either changing key details in the story so that the investigation has a plausible accusation (actually write the League framing Izuku) OR using the literal plot of the anime and being clever about what accusation could be made and by whom.
I read a story where Izuku was framed with a video of him setting fire to the school and because Aizawa and All Might were so mad, they skipped investigation and a TRIAL and just held Izuku in a sensory deprivation prison for five years. The League has a shapeshifter AND a clone-maker, y'all. I did a find search of the entire story. No one mentions Toga or Twice, not even once.
Story Ideas:
At summer camp, the League could implicate Izuku as their mole and reveal that kidnapping Bakugou was part of Izuku's payment. Hell, let Izuku run into the portal, restrain him, kill Bakugou, throw Izuku to All for One so that he can be miraculously healed of ALL of his injuries and tell him, "Good luck getting All Might to believe you weren't working with us." Because if the story is ALWAYS going to be "no one bothers to call Tsukauchi The Human Lie Detector until after they've mentally and physically scarred Izuku for life" ... could the prompt for the betrayal be a bit more interesting?
Or after USJ, Bakugou tells Aizawa Izuku’s “I was given a quirk” confession that, when paired with All Might telling him about All for One, leads Aizawa to quickly and quietly detain Izuku. (Which is also a good cautionary tale about why the hell Kacchan gets to be in the loop but Aizawa has no idea what's going on.) I mean, c'mon, the plot of MHA is basically begging for Izuku to confess that he was given All Might's power and Aizawa not believe him because, hello, All Might clearly still has his quirk.
Erasing 40% of the story to make a plot-holes doesn’t make Izuku’s heartbreak any sweeter. Making characters OOC requires massaging the plot, anyway. If you’re going to change Aizawa to foaming-at-the-mouth irrational or change Class A to being “so scared” no one assumes Izuku must have been coerced into working with Shigaraki information… the LEAST you could do is come up with an interesting red herring to explain why an underground hero lost the ability to do a proper investigation?
Izuku Writes Creepy Notebooks
For most of these stories, this is the only evidence that Izuku was working with the League, in some stories, Aizawa beats Izuku for simply having the notebooks; thinking he’s League traitor isn’t even mentioned! I can see why the bloodthirsty whump writers like this: the notebooks are connected to middle school bullying, so Class A resenting them can quickly segue into Izuku having PTSD panic attacks and running to make his first suicide attempt.
These stories also completely ignore that Izuku asks people questions. Authors will write that Izuku wrote several pages about Uraraka but never, ever actually talked to her to answer his questions: Would she lose her quirk if she loses even one finger (like Shigaraki)? Should Hatsume make protection gloves? How about Ashido, Bakugou and Todoroki? Would Todoroki's powers still work with protective gloves like Bakugou?
But, am I a bad person for wanting a bit more meat on this bone? Instead of Aizawa/Nezu expelling/arresting Izuku simply because they fear the notebooks could be used for evil in the future, doesn’t it sound plausible to believe and heartbreaking for Izuku to have to prove that "most of Stain's victims are profiled in the last few of Izuku's notebooks." (It would still be circumstantial evidence since, if Izuku writes profiles on hundreds of heroes across 15 notebooks, some of them being Stain’s victims is just par for the course. But I prefer this idea over “Izuku OPENLY writes in his notebooks every day, but doesn’t that just prove he’s the traitor even more because we’d assume no traitor would be stupid enough to spy on us in our faces? Gyah! His evil genius is staggering.")
PS: If Bakugou points out that shitty Deku has been making these notebooks for so long, #1 is more of a coloring book of his favorite heroes... he either gets called a traitor too and thrown into prison to be beaten or everyone's response is simply "But they exist! They EXIST! They are creepy!"
Let’s Ignore the USJ/Internship Plot, Even Thought the Fanfic is about the USJ/Internship
Izuku passed on information about Class A to Shigaraki... even though a major plot point of USJ was that Shigaraki didn't know anything about Class A's abilities.
Insist that Izuku’s multiple, painful self-sacrificing moments were all just covers for his evil plans. Either that, or don’t mention them at all, because pointing out that he broke his legs to help All Might sounds like too good of a reason to trust him.
Let’s erase All for One, Gran Torino, and the Nomus from the story because we either need All Might to assume Izuku told Shigaraki about his injury or the story features a quirkless Izuku and the accusation that All for One was rewarding him with a secret quirk is too logical to be allowed. All Might/Nezu/Aizawa cannot be allowed a plausible reason to assume Shigaraki seduced Izuku to the dark side.
Completely ignore that Tsukauchi The Human Lie Detector wrote Izuku’s statement.
Izuku did Summer Camp… Because
Since this is the arc that introduces the concept of “a traitor in their midst,” this trend just crammed Izuku into it without making it fit. So now most of the 400 fanfics are stuck rewriting a few templates of Class A and the teachers accusing him for no reason and ignoring what actually HAPPENED at the summer camp to do so. Because… he has notebooks…
Again, insist that Izuku’s multiple, painful self-sacrificing moments were all just covers for his evil plans. Either that, or don’t mention them at all. Because two broken arms, going out of his way to save a little boy, coming up with plans to save several classmates, and contributing to the arrests of two villains sound like too good of reasons to trust him.
Izuku TOLD the Pussycats who the target and was part of the vanguard protecting him. Without that message, Mr. Compass would have still captured Bakugou with NO ONE being the wiser. No, let’s go one step deeper. Izuku could have left Bakugou behind during the final exam so that he would be forced to take remedial lessons. If the kids who failed really were staying behind, Izuku would give that address. If it was just a logical deception, Izuku would give that address.
Honestly, I've never seen a "he told the League where the summer camp was" story that actually talked about what happened at the summer camp. These fanfictions will have CHAPTERS of Izuku having panic attacks from middle school days and never mention Bakugou... the reason for Izuku's lack of self-worth. Authors will give Izuku trust issues with teachers to make his panic attacks because of Aizawa more heartbreaking... and never, ever mention that Bakugou is the reason teachers didn't help him.
Completely ignore that Tsukauchi The Human Lie Detector wrote Izuku’s statement.
Overhaul is Such a Touching and Courageous Arc that it is Never Mentioned
Sometimes, sometimes... the whole "Gyah, Izuku makes creepy notebooks so lets turn on him!" plot happens after the Overhaul Arc... But his actions during the Arc are NEVER mentioned.
I do recall two stories: One where Aizawa accused him of working for Stain, the League and Overhaul at the same time and when Izuku points out that makes no sense, he gets punched and told not to talk back... And in another, they just accuse Izuku being the mole who informed the yakuza of the sting operations... and no one, not even the Big Three mention how little sense that makes.
Everyone shut up. Beating the every-loving shit out of Kaiju Overhaul and single-handedly saving the tortured girl are nothing compared to creepy notebooks.
Assuming Stain and Izuku are mentor and pupil
By using the plot of the anime...
Nezu/Aizawa/All Might assuming middle school Deku imprinted on Stain the moment he heard a “All Might alone is worthy” speech is a much better assumption than … oh, right, without All for One in the story, there is no logical explanation how NEET Shigaraki recruited Izuku, when he couldn’t even recruit decent henchmen for USJ.
I like the idea of Stain disabling the two heroes who didn’t save Kacchan. Two cowards scolding a child for being braver than them? Since Stain’s arc is a year and some change from Ep. 1, if those two heroes were among the first he ever attacked, it could cause someone to double-take that their last patrol before being forced into retirement was featured on the news with two future UA students.
Stain SAVED Deku from Shigaraki. For any Pro Hero to assume that means Izuku was working with Shigaraki instead of Stain is like watching a girl stick her tongue down a guy's throat and doubting they are a couple because you saw that girl snatch a weave off someone she hates in the school parking lot.
Stain followers, in plain view of Pro Heroes, have declared Izuku as equally a true hero as All Might, saved him, or helped him save the day. Not only was Toga instrumental in Izuku's success in the Overhaul Arc (and Uraraka and Aizawa were aware of that) but the only reason she HAD Izuku's blood was because of a discreet little meet-up during the PLE that could have gone completely unnoticed, except Sero, Mineta, and Kaminari loudly said they saw Izuku interact with a naked girl. Shit! Well, now Izuku has to mention Camie to Beast, it would be out of character to NOT ask.
The Mall Encounter implicates Izuku so much, I'm actually getting scared. IS Izuku Midoriya a Stain follower?! Here is the monologue straight from the DUB: "What's the difference? Your goals, your villains... I don't understand you. I don't agree with the Hero Killer either, but I can understand him. Because the Hero Killer and I have something in common. We're inspired by All Might. That night, he even saved me from the flying nomu. He's a maniac, but he doesn't destroy things because it sounds fun. And when things were looking bad for him, he didn't abandon his mission... Like YOU did. Even if what he did was wrong, he held true to his beliefs. That's the difference."
Now, when Tsukauchi The Human Lie Detector took Izuku's statement after the Mall Encounter… because yes, he takes Izuku’s statement after every fucking crisis, people… even if Izuku repeated that monologue word for word, all Tsukauchi would hear was the confused a innocent hero-in-training.
If Nezu/Aizawa/All Might read back that statement, they could EASILY reinterpret it as an idealistic young pupil disappointed that he couldn't convince his master to spare the lives of all of the fake, unworthy heroes he'd profiled for him. (This serial killer killed 17 and injured 24, now. That's a whole lotta people not killed for a serial killer.) How EASY would it be to suspect that Ingenium was only alive because Izuku pleaded his case? How EASY would it be to think Izuku only sent the signal to Class A to get Iida away from his master ASAP before he had to choose between his mission and his new friends?
And just to wrap up in a nice, neat bow how much the Mall Encounter makes Izuku look like a Stain pupil, the fact that it happened at all looks like Shigaraki flaunting how vulnerable Izuku is with his master in jail. A rogue looking to recruit the quirk analyst prodigy he suspects was that asshole's Player 2. "I hate everyone. But the Hero Killer pisses me off the most.” Izuku tried to act as ignorant as possible. “Wasn’t he one of your guys?” But then he dropped character when Shigaraki dared to compare himself to his master. Shigaraki asked why Stain had more YouTube views and Izuku responded with a shockingly personal declaration on his respect for Stain and All Might.
… Seriously, I’ve gaslit myself into thinking Izuku really is Stain’s pupil...
At this point, I’m just working out the kinks on either an actual traitor AU or a reasonable doubt fugitive AU.
Conclusion
I love making characters suffer. I genuinely do. I can tolerate melodrama for the sake of characters suffering. I love OOC because I equally love Aizawa beating Izuku and Aizawa dating Izuku... If someone has a recommendation on both happening at the same time, I'd appreciate it.
But I just don’t understand the appeal of lazy writing or nonsensical characters WITHIN the context of the story being written. Every time someone says "Izuku sold information about us" all I can think about is that Shigaraki has never understood any of Class A's powers. Just write that Izuku wanted the League to kidnap Bakugou. Use the fucking anime.

quick thoughts about the use of Wherever You Go, There You Are as an episode title because i really do think it ties in with the duality of the lighthouse (yes, i said the duality of the lighthouse. i will also be screaming about the goddamned lighthouse later believe you me) and the reason why this episode ended on stede’s hope and not ed’s despair and that really fucking matters.
okay so! ‘wherever you go, there you are’ is one of those litmus test statements where the meaning you pull from it depends on your own personal shit.
on one hand, it’s an acknowledgment that we can never truly hide or run away from the things that are eating us alive and keeping us up at night. wherever you go, there you are. your past, your demons. your ex-almost who kissed you back and cracked you open when you exposed your soft underbelly then left you there to bleed out into the sand. you know! typical gay pirate stuff.
so that’s obviously where ed’s at when the series ends. he’s got his adorable trash panda facepaint instead of breakup bangs, he’s thrown away his delusions of deserving finer things along with the scrap of red silk. he’s removed everything that would remind him ed still lives inside blackbeard (save the lighthouse, oh the DUALITY) and he is gonna be the goddamned krakeny-est kraken the world has ever seen. just you fucking watch him stede!!! and so on.
pretty fucking depressing, BUT WAIT.
Wherever You Go, There You Are is also a self-help book from the 90′s by jon kabat-zinn about mindfulness. the granular details aren’t super important here but given stede’s the character we end on and the rule of good writers care about scene placement, i think the overall message of the book matters and tells us where this story is going next for ed and stede.
honestly, let me just drop a quote from it here.
Guess what? When it comes right down to it, wherever you go, there you are. Whatever you wind up doing, that’s what you’ve wound up doing. Whatever you are thinking right now, that’s what’s on your mind. Whatever has happened to you, it has already happened. The important question is, how are you going to handle it? In other words, “Now what?”
so yeah: now what? to answer that question, we have to look at stede.
while ed’s hanging out in the belly of the whale because stede abandoning him is literal worst nightmare material, stede left because chauncey took his own worst fears out and put them on parade. (this writing team, man. fuck 'em all, what absolute monsters i love them but i just wanna talk, etc.)
left to his own devices ed spiraled off into fuckin’ izzy’s waiting arms and that’s ten kinkmeme fills in a trenchcoat and i love it, but i digress. ed ran to his evil ex, but thank god stede ran straight to mary and tried to correct what he assumed was his original sin: leaving at all.
and since mary is not an evil ex, she’s a fucking baller, she sets stede right. of all the things he fucked up, leaving’s not on the list. leaving the way he did, yes, but leaving to become a pirate was the best choice he’s ever made in his life. i’ve got a lot of feelings about the way mary functions both as a guide out of the darkness and autonomous character who gets to point out how hard she got fucked over that are (sing it with me) for another post, but essentially the symbolism of the way stede’s honesty set him free and the whole family participating in the fuckery after that is killing me.
all that is to say: ed’s still lost in the dark but stede, who has vacated the belly of the beast and literally killed the man he used to be, is ready to fight to drag ed back out. we can spin the metaphor wheel: stede has shed his skin, left the cocoon to become his truest bizarre butterfly self, he has entered and exited the underworld, he is an ex-ex pirate. even better, with mary’s help and her blessing tucked in his back pocket when he left he didn’t look back.
so, having passed go and collected his 200 emotional literacy dollars, stede has followed Wherever You Go, There You Are’s advice. he asked himself “now what?” and his now what is ed, so he’s off to tell the man he loves about the life he’s found outside the cave.
stede is about to be this man’s flashlight AND his treasure map. it’s gonna be so, so good.
#our flag means death#ofmd spoilers#blackbonnet#i spun the metaphor wheel and i chose EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.#honestly everyone is lucky this post isn't just all caps#i'm so fucking HYPED#god i just have so much to fucking say about this show where do i even start????#i need to talk about jim and olu and why lucius is alive literally zero chance he is dead#z e r o#anyway yeah#i gotta go like... eat food.#but then more screaming.#also if you didn't hear 'oh the DUALITY' like i was yelling oh the HUMANITY#you should have.#because i did#my ofmd meta#the silly/genius intersectional muppet extravaganza

Hii!! And thank you 🥰🥺💕 that means a lot to me!! I hope you stay and continue to enjoy yourself here!This hasn’t been asked before so I hope you enjoy!!! ;w; I hope you all enjoy I had a fun time (and a difficult time) writing this out! I think I made it too long, again ;w;
I made this SFW uwu just some fluff!!!! But please keep in mind before you follow me, I MOSTLY POST NSFW works.
Warnings: slight story spoilers for episode 5, for Idia’s part, if u squint
Pairings: Dorm Leaders x Reader
I put things under a cut for length!!
Riddle Rosehearts
Riddle would probably want a partner who does well in school - at least someone who tries to! It would go against his own desires to do well in life if he has a partner who doesn’t have the drive to succeed like he does.
He isn’t particularly fond of people who have a lot of potential yet waste it on being lazy. Like I said before, it goes against his own morals.
I also see him wanting someone fun-loving! Riddle grew up in an environment where fun was essentially taboo so he would be drawn like a moth to a flame to someone who has so much energy in them. Remember one of his best childhood friends is Che’nya so he would probably not hate the idea of joking around and being silly once in a while!
Someone who would love sweets like him! Not too often so he could maintain his shape, but someone who would love to indulge him once in a while!
Riddle would love to see an S/O who makes time for him and the unbirthday parties that Heartslabyul hosts! He feels like a good dorm leader and seeing you make an effort to come makes him feel like a great boyfriend too!
“Ah, Y/N, I was afraid you wouldn’t be able to make it today.” Riddle sighed to himself in relief. He feared his rose would come to the party late. “Ah, sorry Riddle! I was late because I was studying for Professor Crewel’s exam but I lost track of time!” You breathed out, a bit exhausted from running.
The redhead only nodded and smiled at you. “Don’t worry about it, my rose. We’ve only just begun the party, so no need to fret.” Riddle’s gentlemanly ways never failed to make your heart soar. “No no, I’ll make it up to you! I’ll bake you a tart sometime, you’ll let me right?” You playfully nudged at your boyfriend’s arm and smirked.
Riddle could only blush furiously. “Th-that would not be a bad idea. I suppose I would accept the gift graciously, dear, but only if we can cook it together. I believe it would be beneficial to both of us to learn!”
Leona Kingscholar
Someone who loves to nap with him like all the time
Leona would definitely want someone who is willing to praise him a lot. Growing up he never really had that and felt like he was overshadowed by his big brother, so this guy needs validation like crazy. Tell him how strong he is, how much you love him, how warm he is… he’ll scoff and look away but you could see the faintest blush on his cheeks. He secretly loves it.
I feel like Leona would like bratty tsunderes, for some reason. He would be the perfect teasing type for them and I think I can just picture Leona and his S/O getting into play fights that lead to something more, if you catch my drift.
Someone who can be “refined” enough for show so that when he brings you home to his family, they can accept you fully. The last thing he wants is his family pestering him about how his potential mate isn’t a good fit.
As tough as he may be he def wants someone at the end of the day to stroke his head and calm him down after a long and stressful day.
“Oi, herbivore, come here and be my pillow.” Leona’s gruff voice broke the silence of his room. He was sitting up on his bed while you studied on his desk. Giggling, you made your way into his bed, crawling over to where he was. Leona pushed your torso down gently and started nuzzling his head on your chest, and you could feel the vibrations coming from his body that was like a low growl. Or was it purring?
“Of course, anything for my big strong boyfriend, the best Magift player in the school, my one and only love~” you endlessly praised him, smiling at him as if he were a rare diamond. Leona only huffed as he wrapped his muscular arms around your form, effectively preventing you from leaving.
“Tch…. Damn right….” Leona mumbled. “Why don’t you tell me more while I start drifting to sleep?” Leona smirked. Running your fingers through his hair carefully, you obliged, feeling Leona’s breathing become more calm as you continued.
Azul Ashengrotto
Azul would ALSO want someone who praises him, due to his years of being bullied. Call him beautiful, smart, tell him he’s the most cunning man on campus. He EATS IT UP. This man will swear on his life for you.
He also would want someone who has the ability to work hard… what? The Mostro Lounge needs extra workers sometimes! Azul thinks that if he can own the lounge, manage contracts, AND study hard for school, his S/O should be able to match him!
I can see Azul absolutely praising/spoiling his S/O too. Since you give him so much happiness in his life he should pay it forward, no? What would you like, a new dress/suit? A new piece of jewelry?
Someone !!! Loyal!!! Azul wants someone who he can feel secure with in a relationship, so he probably wouldn’t want you to flirt with anybody else since his insecurities will SPARK UP like crazy!
Azul wants someone who loves him for who he is, unconditionally!
“Angelfish… hello, good evening. I’m sorry if I am a bit more tired than usual, I just finished with ordering more inventory for the lounge and dealing with some paperwork.” Azul sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose. You dropped your bags on one of the chairs of the VIP room and walked over slowly to your octomer boyfriend. Bringing your arms to his shoulders, you slowly begin to knead and massage his arms gently. Azul groaned at the contact, muscles aching.
“How is this, Azul? I know how hard you work, you deserve to take a break too, sometimes…” you spoke gently into his ear, kissing the shell of it. The contact gave him slight goosebumps. “Ah, I would love to but, I have so much more to do… I know it’s going to be a late night for me, so why don’t you head on to sleep?” You tsked, upset with his answer. “I know it’s late Azul, that’s why I’m here. You know, if you keep doing this you’ll get wrinkles, right?”
“Ahem! Well. Then, this might be a good place to stop if that’s the case…” Azul huffed, standing up quickly to retire to his room, you in tow.
Kalim Al-Asim
Kalim wants someone who is cheerful! They may not be a ray of sunshine like he is, but I honestly can’t picture him with someone smug/gloomy. Kalim might be dense but he isn’t THAT stupid. I think he would be able to notice if you were upset which makes him upset.
Someone who is down for anything, Kalim would love to take you on a ride on his magic carpet at random hours of the day so be prepared to drop whatever you’re doing if you want to appease your impulsive boyfriend!
A fun loving person for sure, who isn’t super self conscious about what people think. If he asks you to dance with him he would really love for you to join! He wouldn’t want you to say something like, “oh, but I’m a bad dancer…” Kalim would shake his head and ask you why you would say that! It’s all about having a fun time together, right?
A patient lover is what Kalim would want as well, someone who’s kind, too. At the end of the day when Kalim is ready to sleep after his crazy antics, he wants a partner he can be able to lay next to and feel like himself.
Someone who loves him even if he weren’t rich, Kalim would want someone for their personality and not materialistic things or beauty. Kalim sees someone for their heart ! (*´꒳`*)
You yawned heavily while rubbing your eyes. Was that a tapping noise coming from the window? “Ugh…. What time is it?” Checking your phone, you saw it was 1:30am. You also had a text from Kalim.
*tap tap tap*
You groggily walked over to the window and opened the curtains to see Kalim sitting on his magic carpet with the biggest grin upon seeing you. Opening the window, you giggled lightly. “Good evening Kalim, fancy seeing you here so late.”
“Hi, Y/N!! I woke up and felt bored so, you wanna join me on a night ride around campus?” Kalim practically beamed at you, even this late at night. His smile never failed to make your heart flutter. The boy’s positive energy also transferred to you, effectively waking you up.Stepping onto the carpet from your window was your answer. After getting situated, you kissed Kalim’s cheek and held his hand. “Of course Kalim, I would love to.”
Vil Schoenheit
Someone who can tough out his callous words and treatment. Vil might be a bit much, but the reason why he does this is because he does it with the goal of ultimately helping you. He only wants to see the best out of people, including but not limited to his little sweet potato!
Someone who is patient. He knows he checks who the most beautiful person is quite often and he doesn’t do it to annoy you, it’s just for his own personal validation issues. Lay a hand on his arm, back, or head to give him praises and let him know he’s beautiful to you no matter what.
Someone who is willing to pepper him lightly with kisses (not the face though, he has makeup on!). He definitely eats it up and loves it so much, he feels like you are treating him like a king. He’ll pay that back tenfold and give you beauty treatments, it’ll feel like you’re at the spa on a weekday!
Vil is constantly posting on Magicam, depending on whether you’re comfortable enough to be posted on there he would want to make sure you are okay with him constantly taking photos to be posted on there. Whether it be food you cooked, matching couples outfits, or even pictures of you without makeup, be ready to face comments of all sorts coming from his fans.
“Mira Mira on my phone… Currently, who is the most beautiful of all?” You heard Vil speak outside of his room. Currently you sat on the small chaise at the foot of his bed. Vil told you he needed to step out for a second, so you could get ready for bed now. After putting on your sleeping clothes, Vil finally came back in, seeming more irritated than before. His eyebrows furrowed and his body looked tense.
“Vil, are you alright?” You questioned him as you made your way to his bed, slipping under the covers. Vil only sighed and exchange a quick “Mm.” as he changed into his pajamas and came to join you. He was turned so his back was facing you and he was a bit distant. You knew he didn’t get the answer he wanted when he got those search results back. You didn’t know how to convince your boyfriend otherwise but you decided you needed to talk to him.
“Vil, darling…” you spoke gently as you nuzzled closer, your chest pressing into his back. Your arm wrapped around him to pull him closer, to which he responded with finally relaxing in your touch. “You’re one of the best things that’s happened to me, Vil, I don’t know if you realize how lucky I am to have such a loving, caring, and talented boyfriend like you. Your beauty is simply the cherry on top of the person I fell in love with. To me, you’re perfect. I love you.” You ended your tangent by placing a gentle kiss on his shoulder, dozing off.
You couldn’t see Vil but he trembled lightly as tears silently fell down his face. “Thank you… I love you too, my sweet potato.” Vil whispered into his pillow. With you, he always felt like the most beautiful person.
Idia Shroud
Personality wise, I don’t think Idia would be picky. He’s a shy person and honestly would be surprised he could get an S/O at all! So is Ortho!
Speaking of Ortho, Idia wants someone who is kind and loving to his little brother. Knowing his partner loves his brother would only make him fall for you harder!
Probably someone who would give Idia his own space until he finally felt comfortable and wanted to take it further, he would prob take a few days to even kiss you!!!
Idia wants someone to be his player 2 :) like actually, come over and game with him and he’ll probably be the happiest boy ever.
Big big bonus if you love anime, cosplay, gaming, etc. It’s one thing to be an otaku like Idia but when he has a partner to fully indulge in his interests with?? It’s a win-win situation for everyone! He wants to do a couple cosplay one day if he gets the courage to ask you.
Someone who won’t pressure him too much. If you remember how Riddle pressured Idia into trying to speak publicly, you know how much of a scary situation it put Idia in, even though he was able to do it. Stressing him out is just gonna make him unhappy :(
Someone who enjoys spending as much time inside as he does! I’m not talking a hikikomori but someone who wouldn’t be opposed to staying inside with him 99.9% of the time lol
“Y-Y/N-shi, would you like to g-go on a date with me soon?” Idia fumbled with his fingers, looking away as he asked you. You raised an eyebrow. “Oh? Idia, this is the first time you asked me to ‘go on a date’. Don’t tell me, are we actually going out somewhere?!”
“Eek! D-don’t be ridiculous, Y/N!!” He almost screeched the words out. Suddenly he pulled out a couple of VR headsets with hand controllers, and handed one to you. “Fuhehe, I just made a bunch of simulation locations. We could go to the park, a restaurant, even an amusement park..!” He grinned showing off his teeth.
You giggled at Idia’s enthusiasm, loving the way he gets after speaking about his own creations. “What a wonderful idea, Idia. Maybe we could take Ortho to the ‘amusement park’ too? We’ll be a big family.” You mused. Idia’s face brightened and a faint pink tinge covered his cheeks.
“F-family, huh? Ah, Y-Y/N-shi…. That would be n-nice…” Idia blushed as he considered what the future would bring for the both of you.
Malleus Draconia
Malleus would also mostly not have preferences on a person’s personality. Like, he wouldn’t say something like: “I want someone shy vs someone bold.” Anything his child of man does is interesting to him and he’s entranced by you!
That being said, Malleus would not tolerate rudeness, disrespect to him, Lilia, or his fellow dorm mates, etc. He may love you but he values those bonds more, especially Lilia’s and his grandmother’s.
Malleus wants someone who is willing to teach him human tendencies, since he is curious about them. Malleus will also probably never stop asking you about your life in the previous world, and listen passionately as you describe the hobbies you had, family members, etc.
As long as you continue to love and treat Malleus like a normal person and with kindness, he will continue to love you endlessly. He’s so unused to it that he will feel so special as you only coo in awe instead of fear away, if he showed you a magic trick or maybe donned more of his draconic features like his tail or long claws.
You walked with Malleus under the bright moonlight in the woods near Ramshackle dorm. His height and charm never failed to impress you. And his face, he was so very handsome. His striking green eyes always made you feel hypnotized and his horns were so well taken care of, you almost wanted to reach out and-
“Hm, Child of Man… you do know it’s quite rude to stare, yes?” Malleus chuckled and suddenly broke the silence, making you gasp. “Ah, sorry Tsunotarou. I-,” searching your thoughts, you just couldn’t think of anything quickly enough. “I just couldn’t help myself. You’re very attractive.” You murmured, admitting defeat.
“Oh? Do I not intimidate you, my dear? Usually humans and even other fae fear my features and tend to shy away…” Malleus looked down in thought as he continued walking. You wrapped yourself around one of his arms as he walked, effectively stopping him in his place. “Well, you don’t intimidate me! I like being around you, so, let’s keep it that way. I want to stay with you for a long time so don’t get too tired of me okay, Malleus?”
Hearing you say his given name only made the fae’s heart beat harder in his chest. Surely you knew what you did to him. He smiled down at you, green eyes softening in your gaze.
“I assure you I won’t, little human.”

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun: An honest review
So, my friend @rena-yume recently made me watch the Railgun series (along with some Index episodes, to get context for certain things), and I have to say that I really enjoyed most of it, but... the things that I disliked, I really deslike them, and I think it’s interesting that this series could evoke these vastly different emotions on me, so... here’s my thoughts on each season.
Railgun:
Part 1: Level upper.
The first arc of the series is, imo, one of the strongest. Yes, it’s mostly slice-of-life stuff; just introducing the characters and their dynamics, but that’s what I enjoyed most about it. It’s hilarious, it’s interesting, and the “villain”, Harumi, has complex and interesting motivations. Not to mention, Saten getting directly involved with the whole Level Upper incident helps raise the stakes and also explores her character.
The only thing I didn’t like about this arc is... well, it pains me to say it, but it’s Koruko. Yes, Mikoto’s roomate and best friend. Why? I mean... she sexually assaults the protagonist every chance she gets. It’s honestly annoying and too over-the-top. Thankfully it’s also shown her feelings are genuine; she just doesn’t know how to express them. Otherwise, she’d be irredeemable for me.
Part 2: Poltergeist.
The second arc of the first season really isn’t as strong as the first, since we literally just follow some secondary characters around for a few episodes. That said, when the plot really starts, it’s nothing to scoff at, and I’m glad that Harumi is involved in this incident as well, and her motivations remain the same; it’s a nice touch.
What I also liked is how the girls are able to really connect and work with each other, especially Mikoto and Kuroko, and also how they decide to help Uiharu’s roomate no matter what, despite having just met her.
Railgun S:
Part 1: Sisters.
This is, imo, the arc that really makes Railgun what it is. Mikoto takes her well-deserved spot as the protagonist and embodies it entirely as she goes to very personal struggles that are also way too big for her, and that she really shouldn’t have to go through alone. Honestly, the fact that she’s 14 years old just makes everything a lot more tragic imo. I really like the sisters, however, and the concept behind them, and how Mikoto is willing to do anything to protect them; both out of her own guilt and because she genuinely believes they deserve a chance at a normal life.
What I don’t like about this arc, however, is... well... Index lol. Yeah, I had to say it. Sue me.
And no, I don’t mean the character: I mean the entire series and it’s relationship with Railgun. Whenever the plot of Index and Railgun meet there’s an exceptional drop in the quality of storytelling and it shows. Painfully so. Characters that should be out there supporting the protagonist are nowhere to be found, and there’s no reason given. And some random dude that’s literally the embodiment of Deus Ex Machina (yes, I’m talking about Touma) just pops in to solve everything despite having no personal ties to the plot or the characters, and it’s very unsatisfying.
Yay. A dude with a magical hand defeated the big bad. Sure, why not. Might as well just say that a wizard did it and call it a day.
That said, the bridge scene with Touma was one of my favorites of the season. I just think it would’ve been more emotionally impactful if it had been one of Mikoto’s friends instead or if Mikoto and Touma had a more well-stablished relationship at that point. But alas. It is what it is.
Part 2: Silent party.
Silent party has everything the Sister’s arc should’ve had in a perfect world; Mikoto acknowledging that she can’t do everything alone and learning to rely on her friends, the group of four working together as a well-oiled machine and also involving others (like Kongou, and the scientist girl); all to try and save an artificially-created human, just like Mikoto did with the sisters.
It’s a perfect arc, through and through, just a little too short for my liking. And the finale was exactly the kind of action-packed, fun, wholesome teamwork I was craving (reminded me a lot of the finale of Little Witch Academia, if I’m being honest). I absolutley loved it! I just wished we could’ve seen more of Febrie and Jaunie afterwards.
Railgun T:
Part 1.
Ah, the first part of Railgun T. So conficting for me. Perhaps the most conflicting in the entire series.
On one hand, there’s 13 perfect episodes of good buildup, fun and interesting character interactions and action-packed scenes with clever use of different characters and their powers. And then episode 14 comes in and throws it all down the drain lol. But let’s get the compliments out of the way first, shall we?
Misaki is an amazing rival for Mikoto, and she genuinely feels thretening, especially when she erases the memories of Mikoto’s friends and leaves her compleatly isolated. Her backstory and motivations are also very interesting, and seeing her work with Mikoto despite their differences was definitely one of my favorite things about the entire series.
Kongou is amazing. Hands down. Girl is a real hommie and I love her so much. And her two friends? Yeah, they really rised to the ocassion and shinned like well-polished diamonds. 10/10 for that trio’s contribution to the story.
And finally, Koruko. Damn. What a character! If you told me in season 1 that Koruko would end up being my favorite character in the entire series, I would’ve called you a liar, but she really redeems herself in this arc. Sure, she also had her moments in S, but losing her memory in T is what really makes her shine even more than before. She rises to the ocassion despite not knowing that Mikoto is her friend, or even why she should help her; she just does her duty and risks her life, while injured, because she’s part of Judgement and that’s what she’s supposed to do. It’s her duty, and she’s a good person. Also, her feelings for Mikoto resurface but are a lot tamer this time, and also innocent and adorable.
And now to the thing that destroyed it all... Touma. Yes, I’m going to complain about this stupid monkey again. And no, it’s not because I don’t like his character; imo he’s perfectly fine. But... he just really doesn’t fit in the universe of Railgun, and his existence is to direct detriment of the story and characters.
Why? Well, I said it once and I’ll say it again: the way he saves the day really feels just like “a wizard did it”, and it’s extremely unsatisfying to watch, because at the end of the day it seems like everything the others did was for nothing. After all, he just had to get his stupid hand cut, and that would save the day. Real Deus Ex Machina moment right there. Touma is nothing but a plot device and it shows.
Part 2.
Part 2 of Railgun T is really the arc I have the least feelings about lol. Positive or negative. Take that as you will.
It opens up strongly; with a backstory for one of the “villains” from the previous arc, and a wholesome quest to find and rescue a girl named Dolly. Truly one of the best episodes in the entire series! It even made me cry.
Then we have 2 episodes focusing on Kuroko, and you know I’m all for that! We get to see her once more as the capable and honorable girl she is, and even learn that she joined Judgement because she wanted to be a hero. What a girl. She’s awesome and I love it.
And then... well, then we have a pointless episode of Mikoto trying to get her hands on a stupid card that apparently will amplify her breasts on her sleep? It’s dumb and stupid, and not even in a funny way. It just made me lose respect for her.
The two episodes that follow, however, with Saten as a focus, getting into contact with this girl Frenda from a criminal organization, are actually pretty nice, and I liked their development and relationship. It was wholesome, and I can definitely see why some people ship them. If you liked these episodes, however, don’t try to find out what happened to Frenda afterwards. It’s better to believe she decided not to contact Saten again for her own good, as it’s implied.
And finally... the whole thing about the Doppleganger. Not the worst story in the world, but definitely the least interesting out of all we’ve seen in Railgun. It served to fill in some space, but didn’t really develop existing characters or relationships, and the characters that it introduced also aren’t that interesting... although the group known as “Scavengers” has potential imo. The action scene towards the end was fine, however, although it felt a little cliché.
Final thoughts:
Railgun is an anime of highs and lows. When it shines, it’s almost blinding; with its amazing characters, interesting world-building and powers, and well-written plot and relationships. When it fails, however, it fails hard, so prepare to be extremely disappointed lol.
Would I recommend it? Well... kinda? I guess it depends on what you personally are able to tolerate in an anime. If you are looking for consistent quality, this one is definitely not for you, but if you’re able to look past its faults and appreciate the good episodes for what they are, I think it’s worth it.
I will say, however, that having someone to rewrite the story with you as you watch it certainly helps a lot. Will I make our ideas into a fanfic? Maybe some day, but for now I have no plans for it XD
Thanks for reading! I hope you found this either useful or enjoyable.

Heloo hope ur have a great day 🥰
I was wondering if I could get fem reader who as feelings for Draken but he doesn't know [no one know besides Takamichiy he found out by accident and reader is Emma's best friend] my request takes place during the festival[ep8 I think] . As reader tags along with Hina and Takamichiy,Hina begins to talk about how she's rooting for Emma and Draken. Which of course reader is upset and she decided to leave early without telling anyone. So reader is walking home with tears as it begins to rain.
I'm sorry if this is complicated 😔. But you could end or add a few things to it if you like to
Have a nice day 💘

hina meant well, you knew that. after all she didnt know, and considering you weren't as vocal as your best friend in regards to your adoration for draken, you couldnt exactly blame her now could you?
still, it made you squirm where you stood the more she talked about emma and draken.
then there was takemitchi who was caught between signaling for his girlfriend to stop and checking for any sort of discomfort in your face.
"i'm rooting for her!" hina huffs under her breath with slight determination, "but draken doesn't notice her at all even though she's so cute!" she turns to you, "don't you think so?"
just as you were about to reply, takemitchi catches hina's attention, "when did you and emma become friends anyway?"
"oh, when i was helping her out,"
the two begin to banter playfully and your eyes drift over to the other pair before you, zeroing in on the smiles being shared between them and for a second, your stomach clenches painfully, making you avert your eyes just when draken notices you staring.
"so, what do you think about emma and draken?" hina peers curiously into your eyes when you look back at her, "did emma tell you anything that she didnt tell me? you're her best friend after all!"
"oh," you smile stiffly, "i dont think there's anything she's told me that she hasnt told you hina, don't worry,"
"they're so good together," she sighs wistfully, watching emma and draken standing by a food booth, "right?"
"mhmm,"
"hina-" takemitchi reaches for her to distract her again.
"i - i dont feel so good," you stammer abruptly and surprising both hina and takemitchi.
"we just got here though!"
"yeah, my stomach doesnt feel too good, i'll be going ahead, see you guys tomorrow!" you hurriedly dash in the other direction, missing how hina's face fell when takemitchi whispered in her ear.
great. you sigh internally at the first drop of rain that hit your skin alongside the tears that bubbled over.
were you to just give up now?
was your friendship with emma worth losing over a boy?
draken, you remind yourself, was it worth losing emma over draken?
yet at the same time, you wondered if it was worth losing yourself in internal strife and sadness you allow yourself to feel when you're all alone and behind locked doors. was it worth torturing yourself like this?
then there was an unexpected voice that stopped you in your tracks.
"yo,"
"dra-ken?" you turn in your heels, not believing your ears, or eyes when you saw him standing behind you with an umbrella in his hand.
"you going home already?" he approaches you so you stood under the umbrella with him, "without an umbrella?"
"uhm, yes?" you blink in confusion.
"i'll walk you,"
"why?"
"because it's dark, and raining, and you're alone without an umbrella," draken says matter-of-factly, moving his face so it was inches away from yours, "but i can definitely let you walk alone in the rain if you want,"
suddenly you were very aware of how close he was to you so you take a step back, wishing that he mistakes your tears for raindrops, "what about emma?"
"what about emma?"
"aren't you two supposed to be on a date?"
the laugh he lets out was both infectious and had you wondering if you overstepped a boundary or misspoke.
"no, emma and i aren't on a date," he says, shoulders still shaking from amusement, "what, did you all think we were?"
your face warms up and the crack in the pavement that you could see under the streetlight was more interesting than he was.
"come on," he casually throws his arm around your shoulders, "thankfully you aren't soaked yet, so your guardian won't be too mad,"
"but what about emma?" you insist again, slowly walking in step with him, "did you just leave her alone in the rain?"
"of course not," draken pinches your cheek, "she's with hina and takemitchy, what kind of man do you take me for?"
"you left her to help me?"
"you sound surprised,"
"it's just," you huff, "you didn't have to,"
"you're right," his head tilts to the side to look at you and there was nothing but sincerity in his eyes, "i wanted to though,"
oh, your heart leaps a little and you stifle the smile threatening to show on your face.
and feeling a little bolder, you hesitantly lean your head against him, crossing your arms over your chest, "then thank you for coming after me,"
"anytime," draken reassures you, his body relaxed, "when you need me, i'll come after you,"

Supporting Satoshi - an examination and comparison of JN36 and XY121
Part Two: Dragging your friends into sandstorms is also not a recommended way to treat depression but at least this one worked
So back to journeys, where Satoshi has just lost three battles in a row and a sandstorm is luring people in over in Hoenn.
Goh is immediately excited about the prospect of a pokemon hiding in the sand and goes to ask Satoshi about coming along. It's a fun note of Goh's character devlopment that his immediate wish is to go together. Goh at the start of the season would easily have abandoned Satoshi to go research on his own, but it doesn't even cross his mind for a second in this episode. Great work Goh!
Satoshi's not doing too hot. He's curled up in a corner talking to himself about how he's dropped a whole class. Goh tells him to cheer up, it was only a few battles, this does not work. Another similarity to the xy episode.
We can see more of the root of the problem here, that Satoshi fears he won't be able to live up to his dreams and that trying is fruitless. Now I know we're on the jp dub but I really wanna shout out the english, because in the english dub satoshi says "Battling (Dande)'s a dream I should get out of my head, I don't deserve it."
"I don't deserve it", like I don't think there's a clearer way to represent the issue here than this line. He doesn't "deserve" to battle Dande, he doesn't even deserve to dream about it.
Goh dismisses these ideas and drags Satoshi out to Hoenn to go find the pokemon in the sandstorm.
They get to the sandstorm, Goh's excited, Satoshi's still upset. Back to the tried and true method of "just don't be sad"! Which of course, does not work.
We can already see the similarites to Serena in Goh's actions. Both try their hardest with genuine intent to cheer up Satoshi using methods that work for them. (You can argue Serena was trying a bit harder here since Goh had alternate motives at play). However, what changes here is what they do afterwords.
The problem of dismissing someone's negitivity as not like them remains and I'm still salty about it, but at least in this senario Goh is affirming Satoshi's postivity and not getting upset with him while he's actively upset. It's marginally better but the problem remains.
But that's not why I love this episode. What matters to me is what comes next.
Despite the distraction, Satoshi's still caught up in his eariler problems. He hasn't actually resolved them, so he can't let them go yet.
The boys make their way through the sandstorm, Goh rescues some people from the sandtrap, its going alright. At least until we run into flygon. Or more specfically, until Goh asks Satoshi for his help battling Flygon.
This is Satoshi's expression when Goh asks him for help. Despite agreeing, he's clearly hesitant about this. He doesn't feel confident in his ability to battle the Flygon. He's so out of it he forgets the type match ups, and uses electric moves on a ground type, which of course are ineffective.
Satoshi continues to self loathe, berating himself for not thinking. His hat begins shading his eyes when this happens! He gets caught up in his mistakes and begins to feel as though everything is hopeless.
Now, Goh doesn't do any of the 'no don't say that, you have to believe in yourself' stuff here. Instead, he keeps battling. He instead redirects the focus back to the fight, which is sort of the more pressing issue. It's also a good way of dealing with the problem as well! Goh's actively strategizing, looking for the next step to take. By doing that he's telling ash, indirectly, not to give up yet because there are still concrete steps to take, and that things aren't hopeless!
Satoshi is still paying attention to the battle though, and picks up on Goh's strategy. Goh and Satoshi also share a glance with each other when Flygon disappears under the sand.
Messon gets beaten and recalled.
and Satoshi begins to spiral. He gets so caught up in his previous losses that he visibly flashes back to them. He panics over what's dangerous for the pokemon, and the footage flashing specifically shows Riolu's losses and it being in pain after being attacked.
Both Pikachu and Goh call out to Satoshi in concern after he falls over and doesn't get up. Satoshi's body langauge is imporant here but unfortunately image limit. He's not clentched up, his fingers are loose. even when he grits his teeth, the rest of his body language all together reads as though he's gone slack. Unfortunately, Goh's attention is pulled away by the Flygon attacking again, and the battle resumes with Rabbifoot.
Satoshi protests Goh's strategy, still afraid that battling in too close is dangerous. Goh turns to him for a moment, but has to keep his attention on Rabbifoot. This actually pulls him out of dazed body langauge, as he tense and clenches his fists when Goh starts to put himself in danger. He's concerned for Goh and Rabbifoot!
Satoshi wonders what Goh's thinking, and he's not even looking at the battle anymore. He's just staring at Goh intently.
Or at least, until Rabbifoot successfully executes the strategy, and uses the meteors as part of ember. It's a wonderfully animated sequence, and it works! Goh's proud and excited, all the pokemon jump around happily, and Satoshi just sits there dumbfounded, though visably relieved as well (eyebrows are no longer drawn together) before he begins to laugh.
But Goh's not done helping out Satoshi, and this is what sets this and the xy episode apart, this is where everything comes together.
Goh does what he does best, a big dramatic monolouge. He tells Satoshi that he learned all those tactics from Satoshi, it's the first thing he tells him before he even explains.
Goh tells Satoshi plainly that he does know how to do this, he's a good battler and he can succeed when he remembers to work with his pokemon in tandem and doesn't get caught up in things. And he tells him this right after he proves it to Satoshi's face.
Satoshi learns from examples, from doing, and Goh uses that as best he can. He gives Satoshi the example first, and then explains it later.
And the visual symbolism is incredible here because as Goh tells this to Satoshi the sky clears behind him.
I cry over this part everytime. What better way to show that Goh has helped free Satoshi from the mental fog, that his words have cleared the way for him.
And of course, Goh keeps a smile on his face the entire time.
He continues to talk about working together with his pokemon, something Satoshi was neglecting to do because of his fear of not being good enough and letting those pokemon down.
Satoshi reflects on this, adjusting his hat so it hides his eyes as he does. However, he's in control of this now, actively holding the hat in his hand, symbolizing that while he's still upset, he's in control of his emotions now!
Goh specifically kneels down to meet Satoshi at his level and speak to him directly, he puts them on equal ground.
He talks more about strategy, and then he says a line I adore.
"Battling sure is complex, isn't it, Satoshi?"
Goh doesn't like battling, we know this. We know his only interest in it is as a means to an end and because he cares about Satoshi. And he says this because he's showing Satoshi how much he's learned from him. To really drive home that he attributes everything he just accomplished to Satoshi. All that trust and skill and work! Not to mention the fact that this is a call back to what Goh said after Satoshi won the Flutes in episode seven! Incredible, truly!
And Satoshi laughs and flops over, to which Goh worries. But Satoshi is smiling again, truly smiling. He calls himself stupid, the self loathing hasn't gone away entirely, but he is smiling, and he's staring up into the sky happily. There is no shade over his eyes anymore!
He finally addresses his pokemon again, with words similar to what he said in xy, and of course his pokemon love him and lay down with him. It's really cute <3.
And thats where the episode ends! My goodness, do I adore this episode. It's beautiful and i think about it all the time.
It's about finding new and crazy strategies to win, and when talking things out or distracting him doesn't work, Goh tries a new strategy that does! If he can't use ember and win with one strategy he'll try another. can't cheer up Satoshi with one strategy? try another.
What sets them apart is that Goh keeps going and stays by Satoshi's side, where as Serena got caught up in her feelings and ran off. Goh visbly takes Satoshi's way of learning and expressing things into account, and Serena doesn't make it that far.
There's so much care and effort that Satoshi and Goh share and it means the world to me. I can't wait to see what other moments they'll share in future, and what other parallels will be drawn!
I hope you enjoyed my ramblings, Thank you so much for reading this all.
