hey honey, im thinking of buying some new books as i have just finished reading ‘thieves gambit’ and ‘six of crows’ and i loved them, but i need to add more wlw books to my collection if you have any recs? <3
is ‘the seven husbands of evelyn hugo’ any good? ive heard snippets of it from tiktok so im guessing thats where your username inspo came from, and the book has even had a feature in your fic ‘wildest dreams’ 😼 and is it wlw? as i see a lot of videos about evelyn and celia
apart from that how has your day been love? 🤍
How good was ‘thieves gabit?’ I’ve seen it everywhere, and im thinking about getting it. You have come to the right person for book recommendations, especially wlw ones! My all time favorite wlw book is of course ‘The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo’ and I cannot stop recommending it. That book is absolutely heartbreaking, and I love it so much. ‘Last Night at the Telegraph Club’ is a good one, it’s set in the 1950s and follows the story of Lily, who is Chinese-American. My favorite duology are the ‘Crier’s War’ books: ‘Crier’s War’ and ‘Iron Heart.’ It’s enemies-to-lovers, slow burn, forbidden romance, and a lot of angst!! Another good duology are the ‘Malice’ books: ‘Malice’ and ‘Misrule.’ It’s the queer retelling of ‘Sleeping Beauty,’ along with a few hints of ‘Beauty and the Beast.’ I haven’t read ‘Misrule’ yet, but the first book is absolutely amazing and it has the best cliffhanger. I have these books, but I haven’t read them yet: ‘The Unbroken’ by C.L. Clarke, ‘Reign of the Fallen’ by Sarah Glenn Marsh, ‘Girl, Serpent, Thorn’ by Melissa Bashardoust, and ‘The Priory of the Orange Tree’ by Samantha Shannon. I’ve heard amazing things about the Orange Tree, but it is a massive book, like almost 1,000 pages 😭
THE SEVEN HUSBANDS IS SO GOOD!! That is were my username inspo came from! it is wlw, with a lot of angst thrown in. It is the absolute best platonic friendship I ever seen, I just cannot stop recommending this book to people
My day has been a relaxed one. I just took an online exam and got a 94% on it 😤 how has your day been love? 🤍

Two years ago I fell into the very narrow rabbit hole of gender bender webnovels on Scribblehub. Specifically, the very niche subgenre that is basically trans wish-fulfillment is disguise. Stories that use gender bending as a device to tell stories about trans people (mostly trans-femmes) for trans people. Or, to put it more simply, hatching-of-egg stories.
It was a good time. Certainly more fun and cathartic than the awkward phase of looking at infuriatingly bad gender bending manga, having gender feelings that you haven’t quite untangled yet. Completely hypothetical example that, nothing personal here haha.
Anyways, in that time, I found a bunch of good stories for anyone who might be interested. Also, all of these have transfemme protagonists, even if they don’t know that at the beginning. Here we go! I'll start with:
We’re Not So Different, You And I by Elamimax: Three friends find themselves transported in a strange world that blends cyberpunk dystopia with fantasy. Separated, the story is about them trying to find each other again, all the while going through a lot of changes and learning things about themselves. It’s a non-linear story that is in my opinion masterfully told. The prose is evocative and fun and even affecting. The characters go through a lot, and even though I’d say it is light on suspense, it goes heavy with emotions and the way the characters deal with their situation. The non-linear pacing does a great job at delivering a story full of pathos and catharsis. Plus, the world it creates has is concrete enough that I know what it's about, while also being vague enough with details that it can be developed further in a different story if that ever happens. Can’t recommend it more if I could.

So I went on a bender and read an 800 page book in a day. In total, it took me about 13 hours and 40 minutes.
Out of which I read for 12 hours and 40 minutes STRAIGHT. Like, did not take my etes off the page for more than 3 minutes at one point throughout that time. I'm not okay, but simultaneously I'm high on the excellent feeling of meaningless accomplishment.
The book was excellent, its called Priory of the Orange Tree. Here's the pitch: Fantasy, dragons, and lesbians. What more could one want? Highly recommend, 10/10
Though maybe not the finsh-it-in-one-day, over-12-hours-of-consecutive-reading-part, because I feel delirious right now

the one that always comes to mind when I think of your blog is always that giant Steve rising out of the ocean, as well as Lake steve... maybe just Steve and Water djdjd something about it haha
you're very lucky as far as steve is the stranger things character to me, and water is everything to me
for general steve and water, i think about him basically every time i go swimming, but i haven't been swimming regularly for a while (was hoping for next week, but i might be getting sick, so who knows)
for steve as a waterbased monster on the other hand... well, i haven't finished promptober yet, and it no longer being october is not stopping me, so something might come up. i do love a monster. but timewise, i can't really say anything. i'm writing the prompts in order, and i know exactly what i want to write for the next one, but i need to finish sketching out a visual reference before i can write it, and that's a whole other matter. (also, in case you were curious, it's sadly not stranger things-related; it is, in fact, kimetsu no yaiba-related.)
but trust me, steve and water will come, in some form, sooner or later <3

GRACE GRACE GRACE IT'S ME AGAIN WITH HOT MILF TATTOO ARTIST NEWS! The studio I always go to HAS a hot milf artist!!! I can't believe I forgot about her, she even tattooed me once!! She's mostly doing fineline, which is why I didn't think about her because that's not my style. BUT I PLAN ON ADDING TO MY PATCHWORK LEG SLEEVE WITH SMALLER TATTOOS SOON SO MAYBE SHE WILL TATTOO ME!!!
I love that you have written down all of your weird dreams!!! That's hilarious. How often do you have these weird dreams?
How about a horror movie WITH Mel in it? Bed Rest! I haven't seen it yet but since Mel is in it, it is amazing!
Do you have an all time favorite horror movie?
Now onto reading your story!!!
HOW DO YOU FORGET ABOUT THE HOT MILF TATTOO ARTIST?!?! THIS IS SHAMEFUL
I really like fineline tattoos, but you should definitely get some for patchwork!!! Only if you want to, of course. I have no idea what style my tattoos are, they are just random ass ones 😭 I also get my 4th tattoo on the 6th, so this Friday and I cannot wait!!!!
I usually have weird dreams a couple times a week, just because I take melatonin to fall asleep. I was I could have dreams that were cool :(
I need to see Bed Rest!! I’ve heard it’s really good!
My all time favorite horror movie is probably Hereditary (basic answer, I know) but I watch it to fall asleep sometimes. However, my all time favorite piece of horror that cannot and will not be topped is ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ by Mike Flanagan. I rewatch that show ever October just to get into the spooky season, and I will forever recommend that show to people. It’s beautifully written, amazing scares that aren’t jump scares, hidden details that I am still picking up on as I am on hundredth rewatch, and I could talk about it forever if I don’t stop myself. One hidden clue that I picked up on during my second rewatch, is that each of the children (there are 5) represent the 5 stages of grief, and it’s one of my favorite hidden details in that show.
Another good one that I love so much is ‘The Haunting of Bly Manor’ by Mike Flanagan. Now, this show absolutely destroyed me. I’m not talking about crying over it for 2 hours after I finished it, I did that, but it destroyed me in way I will probably only watch it once. It was absolutely beautifully written, just like Hill House, but the ending destroyed me more than Hill House ever did. It’s not as good as Hill House, but oh my god, it is still so fucking good!!! Fun fact, I cried so hard watching this, I threw up 😼
I’m getting tattoos based off of those shows, I just loved them so much and they altered my brain chemistry. They are both limited series with only one season, so if you have netflix, I highly recommend watching both of them!!! Another good show is ‘Midnight Mass’ and you can probably guess who’s it by, Mike Flanagan. Honestly, just watch everything by him, he’s amazing

prompt: ex special forces ghost working as a “travel companion for hire” and reader hires him because she’s too nervous to go solo travelling
-
It’s not the first time you’ve been somewhere on your own, but it’s the first time you’ve realized that maybe solo trips aren’t for you.
It’s in Germany, three drinks in and stumbling back to your hotel room, paranoia gripping you every time you pass a dark alleyway or take a right onto a deserted street. It’s the man walking your way on the same side of the street that has you stuffing your hand into your purse, clammy fingers gripped tight around your keys.
On the flight home, you’re wiped. Beat. Finally untethered from a week’s worth of anxiety slowly reaching a boiling point. You’ve traveled on your own before, but it’s the first time you can remember being acutely aware of your vulnerability. Granted, before this trip, it’s not like you’d traveled all that much on your own, especially outside of the country.
Ghost comes as a recommendation from a friend of a friend. You’d hemmed and hawed about the whole ordeal the Monday after getting home from your trip—working the front desk at an auto-body shop means that there’s no shortage of people to talk to. The guy picking up his car (fender bender, a wicked crack down the front that’s since been fixed) listens to you gripe with an absent look on his face, but you’ve learned to tune those out. People will listen to you even in spite of their indifference when there’s nothing else to do.
“Y’know, I know a guy that does stuff like that,” he says, cutting you off halfway through another half-baked rant about airline fares these days. Your mouth puckers into something quizzical. Tell me more, it says without saying. “Ex-special forces. Left because of some medical thing, I think. Dunno. Anyway, he’s been all over the world—built like a brick shithouse, that one—and last I heard he was, uh, renting out his services.”
“Services?”
“Like, he’d go with you, hang back while you do your thing, but basically the muscle. There to back you up if someone fucks with you.”
You’re just fresh enough off your vacation (an entirely miserable week, lest you explain the whole thing all over again) to give him your number. He promises to put you in touch with the friend of a friend who’ll put you in touch with one Simon Riley. He then gives you shit about the price on his bill and you knock ten percent off begrudgingly because the piece of paper with your number written on it is still crumpled in his palm.
No good deed goes unpunished or whatever.
“He’s not actually in the country right now,” Laswell, the friend of a friend, explains over coffee, Biscoff cookies spread out on a little tea plate between the two of you. “Or the continent.”
“Where is he?”
“For the rest of the month? Indonesia. He’s supposed to be back on the ninth. Should I let him know that you’re interested in his services?”
It’s a toss up at first. The thought of sacrificing your dignity (he would be more or less your babysitter) for adventure is tricky. With the way the dates line up—when you plan on traveling and when he gets back to the UK—you also won’t have much time to make his acquaintance before setting off.
But there are places you want to go, sites you have scribbled down in a pocket-sized notepad folded up in the inner lining of your backpack. So you give her your permission and promise to join her and her wife for dinner sometime (repayment, and also it’s only been a few months since you moved, so you currently have a dearth of friends in your life anyway).
The first time you see him when he stops by your workplace, you can’t help the double take. It just doesn’t seem possible. You know from Laswell and the guy at the body shop that Ghost is ex-military, but you’d been expecting some buzz-cut, slightly smarmy army reserves guy, maybe six-foot and decently muscled. What you don’t expect is the tatted beast that’s near twice your size. Only the top half of his face is exposed, the rest hidden beneath a black mask; you think briefly of asking him about it, but chicken out under his withering stare.
He doesn’t seem impressed when he meets you. “What’s your list?”
“Um…just around Europe. I haven’t thought about it too much.”
He stares down at you. “You wanna hire me just to run around the continent?”
“I haven’t thought about it!”
“Well, best give it a think fast, doll. Haven’t got all day for you to figure it out.”
You do have to think fast. He doesn’t leave until you’ve spelled out exactly where you want to go, until he’s watched you book plane tickets over your shoulder, heavy at your back while sweat beads at the nape of your neck. He’s entirely too intimidating to be looming over you like that.
You watch him whip out his phone and fire off a couple of texts; your phone pings with an email telling you that you’ve been reimbursed for his flight and when you protest, he brushes you off by saying that he’ll invoice you for everything at the end of your trip.
Then what was promised falls into place. Free of burden, free of anxiety or restless energy, new possibilities open up to you: countries where you don’t speak the language; countries where the sites you want to see are spread out across a wide enough area that it warrants having a man packed beside you in a too-small taxi, his thigh a hot line against yours; hiking trips through national parks, where you don’t feel like you might slip down a hill and twist your ankle, stuck without water or cell service.
You only have two weeks worth of vacation, so you use them wisely. A week traveling across Switzerland and Austria, and then a week in Cairo to see the pyramids.
Ghost hangs back most of the time while you traipse around and do your own thing. You can feel him at your back when you approach the stands where the local vendors have set up shop, perusing silver trinkets and jewelry, only returning to your side when someone stands too close to you.
He fists a hand in a pickpocket’s shirt when they try for your purse, giving them a shake and sending them off.
“You didn’t have to do all that,” you mutter in his direction as you watch the young man scurry away. Not sure if you’re blushing or sunburnt.
“You hired me to deal with this shit my way. Don’t get mouthy now.”
You think it might be the former because while you might not be the best at reapplying sunscreen, Ghost has been gentle-parenting you this whole trip. He pulls you off into corners and growls down at you while squirting a dollop of sunscreen into the palm of his hand to spread across your face. You close your eyes when his rough hands trace over your face and breathe out heavily when he spins you around, big hands engulfing your shoulders and spreading down your back.
You don’t think it could get worse. It gets worse.
He won’t spring for his own room. You stare at him in disbelief in the lobby of the two star hotel where you’ve booked a room with a single bed. There’s a vending machine in the corner of the lobby that only sells coke (all of the other buttons are broken). One of the ceiling lights flickers on and off, an ominous buzz filling the room. Ghost doesn’t so much as blink.
“You didn’t tell me—I didn’t know that was my job,” you rebuff, anxiety a fist in your throat. You’ve already asked the front desk for another room, but they’ve been sold out for weeks, the woman at the front desk informed you with no small amount of pity. It’s the busy season; even two-star hotels get booked up in the dog days of summer.
He cocks an eyebrow, unimpressed. “Never had to before. My job isn’t to book shit.”
“I sent you my itinerary.”
“That’s not how I work, love. Where’s your room?”
It’s nothing short of humiliating to have him follow you back to your shabby little hotel room. Your hands shake when you unlock the door, opening it to something no bigger than a closet. You’d purposefully gotten a smaller room than you usually would, anticipating the cost of Ghost's invoice at the end of your trip. No good deed goes unpunished.
He ushers you into the room with a hand on your back, shutting the door behind him. You flick on the only light in the room, a bulbous thing hanging from the ceiling. No bedside lamp.
When he settles on the end of the only twin bed in the room, the bedframe groans under his weight. Your hands are already clammy. He’s already making himself at home, unbuckling his belt with a single hand; it makes you almost dizzy to look over at him so you try desperately to avert your eyes.
“At least wait until I’m in the other room,” you hiss, rifling through your suitcase faster to get your clothes for after your shower.
“Quit moping, love,” Ghost scolds, resting back on his elbows and toeing off his boots. “We’ll make it work. Just gonna have to get comfortable together.”
You scurry off to the bathroom with your pajamas clutched tight to your chest, paying no attention to the fact that he doesn’t sound as upset as you thought he might.

Sam!whump wincest fic recs
Only fics with less than 10k hits. All are rated M-E and bottom!Sam unless mentioned otherwise. Check the archive warnings.
❤️ = my favorites
part 2
Rampant by puckity (6.1k words) ❤️
What happened to Sam between Alvin Jenkins’ disappearance and Dean’s arrival is the stuff of nightmares, and it haunts both him and Dean long after Hibbing has left their rearview mirror. / One of my favorite Sam whump fics, trauma/dissociation/nightmares, coda to 1.15 The Benders
Dirty Words by angelszn (1k words) ❤️
Sam, wanting to be loved, gets on his knees for Dean. / Another favorite. It's short but so thick with atmosphere. And hot.
in plain sight by autumncolour (2.9k words) ❤️
The video is sent anonymously. It works its way through the bowels of the FBI and lands in Agent Henriksen’s inbox at 3:15 PM one Friday afternoon. It’s accompanied by a note: Aren’t these the boys you’ve been tracking? Maybe don’t watch right after lunch; it’s not pretty. / My fav serial killer Winchester fic!
Put Up Wet by ani_coolgirl (1.6k words) ❤️
Sometimes, Sam doesn't want to be anything more than something to be used. Dean indulges him. / Not necessarily "dark" like the others, but I still feel like it fits here considering it's about Sam's lack of bodily autonomy. From authors notes: "Sam copes with his lack of personhood by making himself a cum rag for his brother."
Consequentialism and Deontology by Dyed_Red (15.2k words, series of 2 works)
Consisting of Lesser Evils, a 5.01 coda to when Meg and her demons come to Sam, Dean and Bobbys motel room. Bad-guys-made-them-do-it rape but it's so much more than that.
And its second part/sequel Mean Ends ❤️ from Sam's POV in the aftermath, with some of the best prose and inner dialogue re:Sam I've seen in fic.
Lovedrunk by TheQuietWings (1k words)
This is how Dean loves Sam best, sloppy drunk and needy. / Dean justifying/deluding himself that raping Sam is just him "looking after Sam/big brother taking care of Sammy"
to hell and back by unhappy_ghost (6.3k words)
The Mark is changing Dean. It's turning him into something he's not. That's what Sam tells himself. / MoC Dean. Very angsty and hot and with amazing Sam characterisation. Read til the end!
trapped in the Garden by apex__predator (3.3k words)
It's been a week since Sam got his soul back. When Dean slips into his bed, desperate for what they had before the Cage, Sam lets him have it. He thought it'd be easier to give him what he wants than to explain- and it was, until it all becomes too much and he shuts down during sex. / Rape/Cage memories and dissociation during sex
Hold Me Close (Don't Let Me Go) by themegalosaurus (2.1k words)
It’s like living in the shadow of a dam. The town will flood eventually. Sam just doesn’t know when. / Bottom Dean (implied switching), Sam dissociating post-soullessness
Colder Bodies by angelszn (560 words)
Missouri feels sick to her stomach thinking about what those sweet boys have become. Or, worse still, what those seemingly-sweet boys already were when they came into her house so long ago. How they hid it so well that even she couldn’t see it. / I read this without reading the tags first bc I already liked the author and like. After I finished and the realization hit me– Whew. I recommend reading it like that if you're not easily triggered.

The Soddy
A CC Free Prairie Homestead
Lot size: 40x30 Price: §37,341 Lot type: Residential Location: Biscuit's Bastion, Chestnut Ridge
Homesteading and the settlement of the American west has always been a particular interest of mine and recently I've become very interested in sod houses! I toyed with the idea of recreating one in Sims but never had a good world or assets to work with. When I fell into my little building bender a few weeks ago I realized Chestnut Ridge was perfect for it and promptly hyperfixated.
This home is ideal for a couple or small family just trying to make their way in the prairie of Chestnut Ridge. The house can fit up to three sims and a baby or toddler, perhaps a bit snug for our modern standards but perfectly alright for the nineteenth century. Also comes complete with fertile fields, an empty chicken coop, a slightly decrepit horse barn, and a well stocked root cellar.
More info and download under the cut:
This house is heavily inspired by Prairie Homestead in South Dakota. When I started kicking around the idea of this build I started googling for reference photos and discovered this very cool historic site. I tried to match this build to its real life counterpart more than I usually do, as the interior that they have set up for that house was just so fun and unique feeling. The exterior is inspired by it, but sim lot constraints required more creative license. I highly recommend you look at some photos, it really is such an interesting place.
Sod houses, which were constructed by cutting hunks of the top layer of the grasslands (which were held together by the strong roots of the native grasses) were common throughout the latter part of the nineteenth century and began to peter out in the early part of the twentieth century. They weren't the most luxurious accommodations, but did have the virtue of being warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
Unfortunately as the walls were made from the earth, bugs could be an issue and I've given this lot the creepy crawlies bug challenge for ~realism~. It's also off-the-grid, and has a functional root cellar (meaning I put the fridge down there, have fun in thunderstorms).
This lot is fully playtested (might have been the most I've played in a while actually, I wanted to make sure the crib worked). Please please enjoy this build. I know I always say it but this one is actually my favorite, and making this work with the constraints of Sims 4 terrain tools was quite the undertaking and I'm so pleased with it.
If you use it please tag me in any photos, I love seeing what y'all get up to with my builds!!
