yin & yang pt.5
Pairing: Ben Tennyson x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 2.6k words
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
Summary: You were an unlikely pair, everyone could see that. But what happens when you get a glimpse into a future where your differences were too much for you to bear?
A/N: Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates! Happy Holidays <3
AA/N: Hella OOC. Once again I do not care. This part is shorter than the others and I just made it as random snippets from different episodes in Omniverse. For now I think I'm tapped out from this series but who knows maybe I'll watch another episode and want to write something

s1e3: A Jolt From the Past
Ben was not having a good day. Leave it to the universe to try and give a deep blow to his ego the second he thought things were looking up. He had expected to just go about his day, doing his job when all of a sudden, the universe decided to reward him with a new partner. Just when he was starting to get comfortable going solo.
It was only a couple of months after Gwen and Kevin had moved towns so they could be closer to Gwen's college that you had been made leader of a new task force. Details unknown to him because even though he's the wielder of the most powerful weapon in the universe, he wasn't cleared to know what his girlfriend would be up to.
Not knowing what the task force was about didn't sting nearly as much when he found out it was based on another planet, and you'd be living there indefinitely.
When you had left, Ben was in a funk for weeks, refusing to leave his bed, waiting for you to get off work so you could call him, only going through the memories of you he had; the jacket he had stolen from you, a rare framed picture of the two of you on his bedside table and more.
He had just gotten himself out of the house when 'Rook Blonko' suddenly appeared, whisking him out of trouble when he was about to embarrassingly get his ass handed to him.
And while his new partner was beginning to grow on him, Rook still found moments to drive Ben to wits end.
“It's why I'm looking forward to this. I'm anxious to see if Ben Tennyson lives up to the legends.”
“There are legends?" Ben was excited now.
“They can't all be true though, for instance, Alien X, that is just a myth, correct? And your relationship with Proctor (Y/N), that obviously must have been a result of some fan posting rumours on the extranet.”
Ben’s mouth dropped open in offense, he didn’t even know how to respond to that. Was this partner, who he has only barely gotten to like lately, seriously questioning his 3-year relationship with his future wife?
“Both of those things are true!”
Rook turned back with a small look of surprise before it dissolved and he chortled, “This is earth humour, you are being sarcastic, yes?”
“I’m not! Alien X is real, and I’ve been in a dating (Y/N) since we were sixteen!”
Rook took his irate tone in stride, shrugging like a complacent mother would humour her child, “Of course. I’m sure you’re in a relationship with the youngest ever proctor in the entire galaxy. You see, even I am capable of earth sarcasm.”
His jaw dropped even farther, "You're shitting me, right?"
"Well, if you're so insistent, why don't you show me some proof? As I understand, it is common for humans to take many pictures with their partner."
"I would if you hadn't thrown me into the canal!" He exclaimed, fishing his sopping wet phone from his soggy pocket and waving it in his face as water dripped down his wrist.
Rook didn't even blink, turning back so they could walk to the proto-truck, "Convenient."
Ben scowled, more annoyed than ever, trying to switch on his phone so he could try and show him any proof he had but it was in vain. His phone was completely damaged.
Ben stopped in his tracks staring at the now ruined phone with wide eyes. He hadn't backed anything up.
The candid snap he had taken of you while you unconsciously played with the necklace, he had given you as you sipped a smoothie. The text message where you said you loved him AND used a heart emoji. That picture of you asleep, your hair mussed, wearing only his T-shirt as you slept soundly against his chest!!!??
"Aw, man!"
*
Ben was lucky that he had a change of clothes at the Plumbers base. He should have known that when Rook said he wanted to stop by for a briefing, it wouldn't have been brief at all. He briefly considered ditching his partner and going home to take a much-needed nap. There really was something about water fights that tired him out more than usual.
He loitered around the mess area. All of the agents were currently on duty, so he had his feet kicked up on the table as he scrolled through his phone, absentmindedly liking Gwen's story of a picture of herself and commenting 'No one wants to see u dweebus, where's Zedd?'
"You look comfortable; almost like you're dating the proctor of this quadrant."
Ben's neck almost snapped in his shock, nearly falling to the floor in his effort to stand up. You were leaning against the frame of the door, an almost invisible smirk on your face and Ben’s stomach did a flip.
“(Y/N)! What are you doing home so soon?!” He exclaimed and bound over to you, to pull you into a tight hug.
“I asked for a week to spend with you, since I missed you so much.”
His heart jumped, "Really?”
“No.” His face fell, and you chuckled, gently tilting his chin up with a single finger as a tiny apology. He leaned into you like always and you let your eyes rake over him, tracing over every single line of his features before ending at his lips, leaning back when he attempted to kiss you.
“I just met with the Magistrata to give a brief on our progress. Due to the sensitive nature of the mission, we wanted to refrain disclosing any details over the comms." You explained, only feeling slight guilt at the sight of his sunken shoulders when you avoided his kiss again, "I did miss you, though. So, I’m on earth for two weeks before I’m deployed again.”
His face brightened, both at your confession and at the knowledge that you’d be in his arms for the next two weeks.
You chuckled again at the sight of his wide grin, “That happy?”
Ben nodded, finally capturing your lips in a sweet kiss that you intended to be short, very aware of where you both currently were. But when Ben’s hand cupped the back of your head so he could deepen the kiss, you found yourself winding your arms around his neck. It was times like this that you were reminded that Ben wasn’t the only one who was head over heels.
“Missed you.” He murmured against your lips, hand moving to gently frame your face as he coaxed your mouth open with his tongue.
“Ben, I have finished the mission repor—Oh my!”
You pulled away too slowly for your liking, but too quickly for Ben's liking, still keeping your hands on Ben’s shoulders, knowing that Ben hated whenever you parted too quickly as you tried to catch your breath.
Even as your subordinate stood at the door, averting his gaze out of respect but also still not being able to contain his shock, you still felt dizzy from the earth-shattering kiss you had just shared. It had clearly been far too long since you’d been together because while you were embarrassed that your subordinate had witnessed such a vulnerable moment of intimacy, a part of you couldn’t help but want to continue kissing him anyway.
However, you were technically currently off-duty, so you were free to kiss your boyfriend as you pleased. Technically, of course.
Still, you blinked away the stars in your eyes and stepped away from Ben, letting him hold your hand, “Blonko, it’s a pleasure to see you again.”
“You’ve met before?” Ben asked, pulling you closer by the hand and winding an arm around your waist. He sent a look to his partner that was extremely smug, but you couldn’t quite decipher why.
“I was on the selection committee to choose him. Given my experience with you, we figured it would be best for Magister Tennyson and I to be the ones to recruit your new partner.”
“A little heads up would’ve been nice.” Ben grumbled into your shoulder, now resting his head in the crook of your neck.
“You would’ve complained. It was necessary now that I’m leading the new task force. Besides, Rook is a great cadet; patient enough to deal with your temperament and dependable enough to put his foot down when you get carried away.” You explained, leaning into Ben as he began playing with your hair and interlocking your fingers with his that were on your waist.
Ben mumbled something negligible under his breath and you turned back to Rook who finally managed to compose the look of shock that almost seemed tattooed into his features.
"So, Agent Blonko, I heard from Magister Tennyson that there has been unusual activity in Bellwood. I know I'm off duty, but would you mind giving me a quick brief?"
Rook immediately took you up on your offer, eager to be recognized by proctor of this quadrant and the two of you conversed about the weird sightings that had happened as of late.
Ben didn't pay much attention to your conversation with Rook, already preoccupied with the way your thumb was running gentle circles over his knuckles. At first, he pulled you closer to prove to Rook that you were, in fact, in a relationship but he also was ecstatic that you were in his arms finally after missing you so much.
He wanted to keep showing you the affection he’d been holding back for so long, but Ben knew that if he kissed your neck right here, you’d slip out of his grasp—so he resisted the urge.
You heard his lips part and immediately responded, "Do not bite me or you're going to sleep on the couch for the next two weeks."
When you turned your head, sure enough, his teeth were inches away from your unmarred skin and he pouted, affronted, "It's not my fault you're giving him all your attention after we've been apart for 2 months!"
You rolled your eyes, casting a cautious glance at Rook before you were whispering, "Behave and you may bite me all you want back home."
Ben was all too happy to shut up and let you finish your conversation.
You certainly regretted making that promise two weeks later when the other agents in the taskforce asked what exactly you had done over your holiday to warrant marks all along your neck and collar.

s3e6: Frogs of War
You were outnumbered, outgunned; you knew that. The safety of the civilians was top priority and while their Freedom was priceless, saving their humanity meant nothing if the Earth was blown to smithereens.
Ben fighting against the Incurseans for longer could have taken down a couple more ships, but you knew it wouldn't take long for more to appear. Where was Paradox when you needed him?
A surrender really was the only option for the food of the humans and living organisms still remaining on the planet. You knew that. But the price of a peaceful surrender came at the forceful exile of the love of your life.
He wanted to fight. He wanted to go down fighting.
But fighting would only bring more destruction.
And while the thought of him living as a prisoner for the rest of his life tore you to shreds, you couldn't put his life above the countless citizens who needed you to protect their best interests.
"(Y/N)," He whispered helplessly, trying to convince you to take his side. You bit your lip, turning your eyes downward and his shoulders sank. This couldn't be the end; you didn't want him to leave with the sting of your betrayal.
You stepped forward, wary of Princess Attea that glared at you, waiting for the moment you stepped a hair out of line to kill you in your place. Heart beating wildly against your ribs, you moved toward Ben, coiling an arm around his shoulders and framing his face with your other hand before bringing him down to a passionate kiss.
Ben inhaled deeply, holding onto your waist in an iron grip, tilting his head to kiss you deeper. This was it; you were saying goodbye, the taste of apologies and pain on his lips. He didn't want to stop kissing you; he never wanted to stop kissing you. But ending the kiss meant goodbye, and he didn't want to say goodbye.
Kevin looked away uncomfortably at the sight of your tongue pushing past his lips.
You pulled away finally, lips wet but eyes dry. Ben didn't try to chase your lips like he usually did and that hurt more than you had expected it to, "I love you."
He nodded, mouth locked shut.
He was shackled shut in the escape pod and you watched with bated breath as the door shut in on him, catching a final glance through the foggy glass.
The sad smile you had meant to be reassuring had wobbled at the sight of his cheeky wink, trying hard to hide the upturn of the corner of your mouth.
*
His name was Bullfrag.
Only he could come up with something so imbecilic that it ended up creative. You had forced yourself not to laugh at the absurdity of it when he had introduced himself to you; appearing along with the other rebels in order to break you out of your holding cell.
You wanted him to embrace you, but he was hiding his identity for a reason, so you had to bite your tongue and meet his gaze through those stupid shades.
He knew that you knew, it was apparent in the tenderness of his touch, by the way he gently nudged you behind him, but the gestures had flown over Kevin's head, which made you question your time spent as team babysitter. Clearly, he hadn't been babysat enough. Personally, you blamed Ben for claiming all of your attention.
Once Magister Tennyson was rescued, he revealed his identity—a revelation that came as no surprise to either you or Gwen.
You didn't try to hide your relief when Ben transformed back. It might not have been obvious to many others, but it was apparent to him, judging by the immediately relaxing of your spine and your boyfriend, who knew you too well, pulled you into a hug before you could pretend like you weren't interested. Ben could feel every tense muscle in your body begin to ease once he had his arms circling your waist.
Your fingers immediately found the short hairs at the nape of his neck, heart reaching for him the second he sighed and surrendered to your hold. You exhaled, hiding a kiss to his shoulder by pressing your forehead to the fabric of his shirt.
"Are they gonna make out again? Because it was uncomfortable as fuck the first time"
Ben rolled his eyes, lifting his head from the nook of your neck, "That kiss saved my life!"
"Yeah, yeah, lover boy." Kevin drawled.
"No, seriously!" Ben argued, pulling out something from his pocket, "My amazing girlfriend passed a skeleton key in my mouth! It's how I was able to get out."
You gave him an unimpressed frown, he really should have been babysat more often in your early days, "Did you really think I would kiss him like that in front of his grandfather?"
"I mean, if you thought you were never gonna see him again?!"
You simply tutted at him, holding your hand out for the skeleton key, which he happily returned, not without a kiss to your hand and fingers, "I love you, too."

Unknown Meeting
Requested by Anonymous
Pairing: Ben Tennyson x reader
Genre: Fluff
Characters: Ben, Y/N, Carl, Sandra
Description: Y/N meets Ben’s parents before they know that the both of them are dating.
Tumblr media
You were sitting in the library of your school, books splayed out all over the table, struggling to take in any more information for your upcoming test. Closing the book you were reading, you sighed and pinched the bridge of your nose. As you closed your eyes, you felt a warm hand on your shoulder. “That was a big sigh, is everything alright?”.
You looked up and were met with the beautiful green eyes of Ben Tennyson, your boyfriend, and gave a small smile as you moved your hand on top of his. “Yeah, I’m just really stressed about this frickin’ test. Nothing’s going in. I’m going to fail.” Your shoulders sagged as you finished your sentence. You hated failing tests, it was the worst thing that could happen in your opinion.
Ben moved from behind you to sit at the chair opposite, keeping your hand with his, and moved some of the books. “Hey, you’re not going to fail anything. You’re the smartest person I know, apart from Gwen that is. I swear, she’s like Einstein or something..” You giggled at this. It was completely true, Gwen just seemed to know everything about everything.
“There it is, there’s that smile I’ve been wanting to see.” A red flush spread across your cheeks, your smile growing a little more. “How about we go over to my house after school and study together? Do you think that would help?” Your smile widened even more at the suggestion. “That sounds absolutely perfect, Ben. Thank you.”
He squeezed your hand. “Anything for you.” You both leaned across the table and locked lips, pleasant and loving. The ring of the bell interrupted the two of you, much to your disliking. You began to gather together your books, shoving them into your backpack. “I’ll meet you by your car after last lesson. I love you.”
________________________
“Hey you.” A pair of arms wrapped around your waist suddenly and turned you around, placing a small kiss on your lips. “Hey, baby.” Ben opened the passenger door for you, taking your bags and helping you inside. He placed your things on the back seat before walking over to the drivers side and getting in.
The whole ride over to his house Ben kept his hand entwined with yours, rubbing calming circles with his thumb. As you pulled up, a thought suddenly struck you. “Err, Ben. What about your parents? Aren’t they home?” Ben turned the engine off and unclipped his seatbelt, you doing the same.  “No, my dad’s at work and my moms at the supermarket. We should be good for a few hours.”  You both got out of the car and headed towards the house, going to Ben’s room once you were inside.
You both hadn’t noticed how much time had passed when the front door opened and closed loudly downstairs. “Ben, honey, we’re home.” You both jumped up from the bed and ran around, unsure of what to do. When the bedroom door opened, you both just stood like statues. “Oh, I’m sorry Ben. I didn’t realise you had company.”
Ben itched the back of his head nervously. “It’s alright mom. I was just helping Y/N study for a test.” Another set of feet clambered up the stairs, which belonged to Ben’s dad. “Oh, and who is this?” You stepped forward and shook his hand. “I’m Y/N, Ben’s..err..friend. We were just studying. And actually, I do have to go.” You gathered together your things as Ben gave you an apologetic smile before heading out of the room. “Nice to meet you Mr and Mrs Tennyson.”
You walked out of the house and ran straight home, not wanting to think about the very awkward meeting you’ve just had with your boyfriends parents. You hated to think what they’d be like if they knew you were dating and you shuddered as you realised that it could be sooner than you think.

Growing up with Ben Tennyson (headcanons-Scenario)
⚠️ = Spoilers, jealousy, kidnapping, mutation (reader), Mpreg, swearing, Ben's hand is the Thing from Addams Family, heartbreak moments, childhood enemies to lovers (sorta of?), arachinchimp coded reader, fear of rejection, OOC Ben
A/N: Gender neutral reader
Tumblr media
10-11 years old
- You first met him when Ben was framed
- It didn't go off well was because he was being brat which led you getting irritated
- You two are pretty much schoolmates in same school but you didn't know him well
"Bleh! I am not gonna hang out with other doofus!" Ben crosses his arms and makes a face only you get irritated
"Will you just SHUT up?" You immediately riled up and replied back.
- Even though you're quite an opposite of him, it didn't stop you from calling him out
- Only you realized that he's hiding something from you which is him being "Silly" (to cover up his fear)
- But if you get kidnapped by aliens or human like, it's time for Ben to confess that it should've be him not you (Remember Gwen got kidnapped and he went apeshit) shows that he does care for you.
- You two like Sumo Slammers which strengthen your bond with him.
- That's where he'll open up to you although slowly.
-When Ben unlocked Feedback and favoring that alien, you cant help but to feel replaced so you got heartbroken the way that he favors Feedback.
- Remember how he's secretly sorry for Kevin? Yeah you're conflicted whether you should feel bad for him or... No.
- But in return, you tease Gwen for simping over Kevin
- You and Gwen get along quite well
-You ended up crushing on Ben but you felt tad sad that he has a crush on Kai.
- Unfortunately before the event of AF-Omniverse, your parents have to move out of town and you bid farewell to Tennyson family.
15-16 years old
-You went back in Bellwood and you'd think that nothing change in here until.. It sorta did?
- Gwen is now mature while Ben... Well
-He's now showing maturitiy besides him being silly all the time
-You headed to Mr. Smoothie and being overwhelmed by its changes until you bumped into a green jacket
"Oh sorry, I didn't see you here" You apologize to that guy who's standing by
"Y/N?" Your eyes shot opened when you hear familiar voice and you looked at this person revealing to be Ben.
-You two at first, awkward since you two haven't talk for long time now until he broke the silence about how you're doing in other town
- Turns out you have a boyfriend (which he congratlute you but tingle of jealousy filled him), your parents are very much bus than the usual, and normal life too than him.
- You're also shocked when you realized that Ben was preggo (pregnant) was because of Big Chill being a seahorse
"Wait, you're a mother this whole time????" Your jaw drops when you see mini versions of Big Chill, now staring at Ben who's also disbelief
"Uhhhh yeah?" He's embarrassed that he gave birth to mini Big Chill while staring.
"Damn... No wonder why you ate a pickle" He's surprised you notice smallest details about him but secretly happy that you notice small details about him.
"The next thing was you supposed to be stringray alien but then you ended up becoming THAT thing!" Of course you didn't know about his new aliens' names to be honest with you, you get mixed up with Big Chill and Jetray was because they're both flying aliens well sometimes.
-Sometimes you made a joke that Kevin loves his car than Gwen
-Which Ben spit his smoothie, laughing his ass off.
"He's planning a wedding and his bride would've be a car-" You made a comment about Kevin's car only Ben spit his smoothie, laughing his ass off while his hand slapping your back.
"What? I'm being honest-" Which it also makes him laugh harder.
-You also freaked out that Ben's hand was sentient and crawling onto you which you immediately threw his hand at almost everything including him
"BENJI, YOUR FUCKING HAND IS CRAWLING AGAIN-" You freaked out as you began to grab Ben's hand which also makes Kevin laugh at you freaking out
"NOT FUNNY DUDE!" You added up right after you threw his hand at the wall, annoyed that Kevin continues to laugh.
-Unfortunately, your parents had to call you again to go back to other town which you bid bye to Ben again hoping you'll return someday.
-Bad luck tells you that, your boyfriend has broken up with you because two of you are now pursuing different school times and distant too.
-Ben got famous thanks to that kid who exposed his identity to the entire damn fucking world which you cannot help but to be worried about him and his family which adds his burdens as a teen.
-Luck is in your hands that your parents moved back to Bellwood
-You're also shocked to hear that Ben and Julie broke up (Writers fucked up their love life)
- So fame gets to his head that he becomes arrogant so bad that you called him out (he apologizes afterwards and wants to make it up for you)
- Unfortunately because of alien shenanigans, you ended up being... mutated into an alien. You immediately freaked out bout your new form and have many thoughts that Ben wouldn't like your ugliness and your parents rejecting you for being a mutant.
- Since you now see yourself as a "monster", you immediately distance yourself from Ben which he cannot help but to be worried about you.
- Like he ASKS Gwen what to do when your friend went missing and she replied that he'll find you.
- Okay now setting to Omniverse, still cocky teenager boi but he does concern for you
- Like if you have an ID mask, Ben will ask plumbers to track while worrying for you.
- It wasnt until a random ass villain and then you of course, you have basic knowledge about your newfound powers thanks to the id mask that makes you unrecognizable even though you easily forgetting your own face.
- *Inserts Ben fighting villain*
-You try to save Ben only the mask got knocked off immediately exposing your true form
-You freaked out when you see yourself again which you began to run away until Ben stops you from running away
"WAIT DONT GO Y/N!" He stops you from running away, fearful that he didn't like you AT all.
"Just go away, Ben." You shoo him away while distancing yourself away from him, his eyes are shot opened when he sees you in that mutant form
"Where have you've been? I haven't see you for time like this and... I've thought that I'd lose you." Ben shows his concern towards you for going missing, his eyes are filled with sad, care and worry..
But you take it as rejection, this self loathing intensifies that he didn't like you for being a mutant which you sadly looking down which also makes Ben begins to reassure you
"I don't really think you're hideous." Your eyes blinked, registering what he said, his footsteps getting near to you and his voice is now sincere.
"You.. Think so?" Your extra arms are crossing while your other arms are hanging, still saddened that you look like this.
"Of course! Do you really think I'll reject you because you're no longer human? I don't care what other people think of you so please... Y/N, let me help you." Ben offers his hand for you, at first you'd thought he's bluffing until you offer your hand which he pulled you into a hug.
You and Ben slowly blossomed into more than friends
-You continue to wear an ID mask but in the indoors, you showed up your mutated form and hang out with him but the outdoors, you still continue to wear ID Mask unless if its Undertown
- You two usually hang out in Undertown
-If Ben has bad day, don't worry you'll comfort him
- But if you have shitty day, Ben will also comfort you
- These feelings showed more
- Who kiss first?: Ben
- You slowly reverting your old personality
- He lets you mess his hair up

What would a Transformers Prime and Ben 10 Crossover be like?
My first thought? Cybertronian Rust Bucket. They used to be a Plumber together with grandpa Max and they are partners (just platonic or romantic???).
Rust Bucket are a former decepticon that crash landed on Earth but pretended to be a neutral fugitive so that the Plumbers wouldn't act hostile (cons ain't got the best reputation in the universe). While on Earth and in the Plumber's custody (overseen by Max) they started to realize that they no longer wanted to be a decepticon, that they had grown tired of that life. So, they joined the Plumbers and eventually became Max's partner. They never told anyone, not even Max, the truth about their decepticon past.
Ok, enough about Rust Bucket for now.
Ben unofficially has a cybertronian form (Decimus Prime) and his alt mode is a green sports car so I imagine he's just a bit taller than Bumblebee. Apparently he's got an unspecified energy melee weapon which I will assume is a sword.
Ben would get along splendidly with Smokescreen and I can see them totally egging each other on to do silly (and somewhat risky) stuff until something accidentally goes wrong.
Gwen would really look up to Ratchet and Arcee and quickly befriend Miko. While at first it might appear that she and Miko might not get along, I think their different energies might just balance each other out.
Grandpa Max and Optimus would immediately click, no doubt in my mind. He'd also probably get along with agent Fowler and Fowler in turn would rely on Max's experience with alien life.

yin & yang pt. 4
Pairing: Ben Tennyson x Fem!Reader
Warnings: None
Word Count: 3.7k words
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 5
Summary: You were an unlikely pair, everyone could see that. But what happens when you get a glimpse into a future where your differences were too much for you to bear?
A/N: Once again just a silly little self-indulgent fic. Hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
Ben groaned in boredom, laying his face against the dirty tables outside Mr. Smoothie. Not even the smoothie, cheekily titled banana-fantana, was able to cheer him up like Gwen had been hoping.
"What's up with you?" Kevin asked, drinking his soda that he got from a nearby vending machine, after he had refused a smoothie four times.
"I miss (Y/N)." He mumbled, pouting.
They shared a glance over his head. Gwen ushered for Kevin to speak but he shook his head adamantly, mouthing that he wanted no part in this and crossing his arms.
Gwen glared at him.
"Speaking of (Y/N)—" Kevin began, all too quickly.
Ben finally raised his head from the table to look at Kevin and his friend bit his tongue, turning back to Gwen with wide eyes and beckoning her to speak.
"Uh, it's not that we don't like (Y/N)—we do! She's a great addition to the team and a good friend even—and um, Kevin?"
The man in question gave her a wicked glare before Ben turned to him and the murderous expression on his face was wiped away, "Gwen's just concerned that you might be—how did she put it—'acting like a lovesick fool'."
The look he got from Gwen was in stark contrast to the pig-headed grin he was bearing.
"What are you talking about?"
Gwen finally sighed, placing a hand on his shoulder, "We all know that you have this crush on (Y/N) but—and I mean this in the nicest way possible—but don't you think it's time that you start, you know, trying to get over her?"
He raised a brow, "Why on earth would I do that?"
"It's nice that you like her so much, but you know what (Y/N)'s like; she's driven and focused and her career as a Proctor is the most important thing to her—not that that's a bad thing! It's just—well—someone like that doesn't really seem like the type to date or be into relationships, you know?"
"That's not all what she's about. I know it doesn't seem like it but she's actually really sensitive and sweet."
They shared another glance, unconvinced.
"Guys, I'm serious! We have something between us!" He defended, unconsciously clenching his fist, and crushing the half-full smoothie cup in his hand.
Gwen let out an irate sigh.
Growing up, she had only heard of how smart she was from everyone surrounding her—her parents, her grandfather, even Ben—and yet whenever she tried to explain something to people, they tended not to listen.
If only Ben would listen to her now, he'd be able to avoid so much pain in the future. Whenever she tried to gently nudge him, he'd never listen so this time she took a more direct approach and yet, he still wasn't listening.
"Ben, please. I can tell that you're actually falling for her but honestly, where do you even see this going? Do you actually believe that you're going to get married and have kids or something like that?"
"Gwen, I'm just sixteen, it's way too soon to be worrying about something like that!"
"So, you're just going to date her until it becomes a problem?"
Ben rolled his eyes, standing from the table, "How about you mind your own business and keep your nose out of my relationship. I don't have to sit here and convince you of anything."
Kevin watched him walk away before letting out a low whistle, ignoring his girlfriend's glare, "I told you that was a bad idea."
***
Ben kept a single hand on the wheel as he drove the two of you over the museum, where you were supposed to meet Gwen and Kevin for a mission. You had long stopped reprimanding him for not driving with both hands since he began throwing tantrums and claiming he couldn't focus if your fingers weren't intertwined with his free one.
The roads were empty at this time of night anyway.
"Hey, did Gwen talk to you about anything? Me, specifically?" Ben brought up and you immediately picked up on the slight squeeze of his hand in yours but didn't comment on it.
"Not lately, no. Is something wrong?"
Ben let out a relieved sigh, "Nope, nothing at all."
You raised a brow at this, staring at him with suspicious eyes. He eventually caught on to your prying gaze and immediately attempted to change the topic, pretending like you didn't notice his futile attempts to do so.
"That's a pretty necklace, where'd you get it?"
You rolled your eyes, watching as a cheeky grin grew on his face at your response. He was not hiding his giddiness very well, but how could he? You, his beautiful girlfriend, whom his cousin said was a monotonous emotionless dead-end (she didn't actually say this, but Ben was offended all the same), was wearing the necklace that he had gifted her.
It was fairly simple, a thin chain with a small pendant with a gemstone. He knew you wouldn't wear something that was flashy or too gaudy, so he settled for something he knew you'd like.
And the sight of you wearing the necklace even though you usually insisted that any accessories that weren't a part of the uniform could sometimes hinder the mission was completely worth the hours of time spent staring at different necklaces that all looked the same and troubling his mother for advice until she hurled a wet sponge at his head.
***
When he was responding to the distress signal on his Omnitrix at the museum, Ben wasn't expecting to get attacked by a bunch of ninja that seemed to appear out of nowhere before disappearing into thin air.
You stared at the green tablet in the crate as you wondered just where you had seen the artifact before.
"It's the Hands of Armageddon." You explained, going through your database quickly to pull up all the information the plumbers had on it, "It's an artifact that was secured by the plumbers more than 2 centuries ago. It's said to be a crosstime gateway created by the Chronians, but we have yet to prove that. It's virtually indestructible though. The Plumbers have had multiple attempts and they all resulted in mass disasters."
You turned to Gwen, "The vision you saw was probably an alternate dimension—"
"Right as always, young (Y/N)."
Before the flash of light behind you could even disappear, you were pointing a gun at it, only lowering it when you saw Paradox emerge through the blinding light, accompanied by someone you'd never met before and yet, still recognized.
"Who's your friend?"
Ben stared at him with apprehension before realization struck him, "Are you?"
The man responded with a startlingly deep voice, "That's right, Ben, I'm you—only even more awesome."
You were hardly surprised, the man before you was a splitting image of your boyfriend and you averted your gaze to hide the oncoming heat to your cheeks at the sight of his beard and his stronger build. He certainly grew up nicely.
Ben 10k and Professor Paradox didn't waste any time and began to explain just what problems the group of you had somehow managed to get stuck in once again. As the four of you heard their explanations, you heard a slight sound coming from the back of the museum.
"Shh."
Ben 10k raised a brow at you, opening his mouth to say something when you shushed him again, with a fierce glare this time. It was only a second more before you were swerving around to point your gun at another intruder, a woman this time, who was pointing her own gun at you.
Your mouth dropped open in shock, faced with an older version of yourself.
She looked like you, that much was obvious, but she was also different, much more womanly than you were, with more rounded curves and a more matured face.
Recognizing her younger self, the you from the future lowered her own gun and placed it back into her holster, taking a look around the room and registering just how many faces were there.
"What the hell is she doing here?!"
She raised a brow at him, lips pursed in annoyance, "Excuse me?"
Paradox sighed, "I apologize for this, Ben, but this involves her future as well."
He gritted his teeth in fury, rolling his eyes, "That's just great."
You spared a glance at your boyfriend, whose face had fallen so far it looked like he had just had his heart broken.
Gwen sighed, whispering something that had only been audible, to him and you watched as his face fell deeper, "I tried to warn you, Ben."
***
Professor Paradox was one of the most infuriating people in the entire universe. You had gathered as much since the first time you had the displeasure of meeting him, but he seemed intent on reminding you exactly why you disliked him.
He spoke in riddles, appeared and disappeared as he pleased, never made any sense but expected everyone to listen to him with no explanation whatsoever.
And so, it didn't help your opinion of him when the cargo hull of the jet began rumbling, signalling intruders, that he was all too quick to disappear without bothering to help fight them.
You cursed out his mother in your head as he vanished within a flash of light, pocket-watch in hand and a quippy remark on his lips.
The ninjas began appearing out of nowhere and despite there being the five of you, you were confined to a small space, and they multiplied like pests until the whole hull was full of them. It obviously didn't help that Ben 10k chose then to transform into humungousaur, taking up the remaining of what little space you had.
You didn't even have enough time to come up with a good strategy before you were being attacked with multiple opponents at the same time. It didn't take much to disarm one of them, now using their own swords to attack them.
There were too many and they just kept appearing. Your eyes bounced around the room, trying to figure out how to get the upper hand in such a cramped space.
Your older self, having the same idea, sprinted across the room, disarming as many soldiers around her as she could. Although, there was something odd about the way she moved.
She was at the same strength level as you were. After 20 years, shouldn't she be more adept than you were? Ben was capable of using his arsenal of powers without even transforming into any aliens, but she didn't display any remarkable feat of strength.
It was almost as though she wasn't able to. An injury perhaps? Maybe she was still recovering? You bit your lip, slashing the sword through another ninja. If you could find out what caused it, maybe you could prevent it from happening to you.
"Stay out of this, (Y/N)!" Ben 10k snarled, voice booming through the room and causing slight vibrations in the metal due to his size.
You paused for a second, sharing a glance with your boyfriend, who seemed equally surprised. Your future self, unbothered, continued to stampede through the other opponents until she reached the switch to the hangar and flipped it open.
Immediately the hangar opened, and you braced yourself, holding onto Ben's car that had been strapped down. Ben had the same idea, holding onto the handles and pressing his front against your back, making sure you were both anchored down.
The ninjas flew out of the jet, the vacuum of wind deeming too much for them and you watched them disappear, one by one, as they capsized through the air before the hangar door finally closed again.
"What the hell were you thinking?! That was so incredibly reckless—"
"Stop talking to her like that!" Your Ben interrupted his future self, wedging himself in between your future counterparts and glaring at him, "You're acting like an ass instead of apologizing! If I were you, I'd be on my knees begging for her to take me back!"
"Take me back? What are you—We're not broken up!"
Ben's eyes widened at this before he turned to your future self, "And you'd stay with someone who'd treat you like that?"
The woman in question sighed, placing a soothing hand on his shoulder, "Try not to be too upset, Ben. He's not usually like this. He's just mad—"
"I'm not mad at (Y/N)." Ben 10k argued, crossing his arms and everyone raised a brow, they clearly didn't believe him. Your future self merely gave him a blank stare before he caved.
"Alright fine, I'm mad at you." Hardly a surprise, "Need I remind you that we just left our son all alone at our home that was just attacked by a bunch of ninjas?"
Ben's jaw dropped open hearing that. Our son? He had a son? With the love of his life no less? This whole time he thought that there was nothing but disappointment and heartbreak for your future together but now he's finding out that he had a family with the girl he was in love with?
Funny that it was only this morning he was claiming that he was too young to be thinking of such things and yet, the thought had his heart swelling.
"I checked on him before we left, no one even made it to the hallway outside his room. Besides, when we go back, we'll be taken to the exact moment we left, not even a fraction of a second later. Kenny will be fine."
"It would be nice if you could show some concern at least." He huffed, "You're not even worried about the fact that we just left our newborn alone. All you're thinking about is this mission and you're putting yourself at risk."
Future you rolled her eyes, sighing as she took a seat on ship, "Here we go again."
"Oh, forgive me for worrying about my wife. Where do I get the audacity?" Her husband shot a glare at her.
Gwen's eyes flitted between the two of them, only able to see the similarities between their relationship in the future and also in the present. Her cousin apparently got married and started a family with the girl she didn't think was good enough for him.
Would Ben still not be able to see what a mistake he's making, even after a decade? Or was she the one who wasn't able to see clearly?
"(Y/N), you just gave birth five weeks ago and you haven't fully recovered. You're supposed to be taking it easy, not fighting some crazed time traveller. "
No wonder she was moving at a slower rate than usual, she was still in her post-partum recovery. For a woman who just spent the last 10 months of her life growing and then providing for a living, breathing human, she fought impressively well. You mentally patted yourself on the back.
"Firstly, I can take care of myself. Secondly, Paradox didn't ask before zapping us back here."
"Fair enough but I want you to be on the sidelines for the remainder of the mission unless absolutely necessary." He folded his arms, giving a firm stare that meant he was being resolute. Your future self held his stare for a second before coming to the realization that not much would deter him.
She sighed, "Fine."
A pleased smile made its way to his face as he leaned down to kiss her forehead, "Excellent."
"You're a lot of work, Tennyson."
"Right back at you, Tennyson."
You spared a glance at your boyfriend, choosing to keep the information that you found his impish grin at the thought of a future with you adorable a secret and instead asked, "Did you really think that we had broken up in the future?"
His brows went toward his hairline, "You didn't? They were practically at each other's throats the whole time."
"Firstly, they're each wearing wedding rings, and second," You walked over to your future self, reaching for her collar and pulling out a familiar chain from underneath her shirt, "I saw this the second she got here."
Ben blushed, "You still wear it? It looks a little different though."
"I replaced the gem." She explained, toying with the pendant.
"Why?"
"It's her son's birthstone." "It's my son's birthstone." Both (Y/N)'s said in unison and the others gave you a bewildered stare.
"How'd you know?"
You shrugged, "Because that's something I would do."
***
Once again, you were all left in the middle of the desert at night after Paradox abandoned you one again and you continued your line of curses about his entire family in your head as you trudged back to the jet to call a team of plumbers to get you home as well as begin repairs to the jet that was damaged in the fight.
Kevin followed you closely to try and see if there was any way he could repair it just enough to get you back to Bellwood. Ben was about to enter as well when he was stopped by his cousin, who seemed sheepish enough that he immediately knew what the conversation was going to be about.
"I owe you an apology, Ben. I'm sorry for not trusting your judgment and for thinking the worst of you and (Y/N). You both make a cute couple."
He nodded, "It's okay, I didn't exactly have faith in my own relationship when I immediately concluded that they had broken up."
"I'm sure the conversation we had this morning didn't help either, don't feel too bad about it."
He nodded once again and they dissolved back into silence before she gave him a teasing smile, "So, a son, huh?"
His cheeks went warm, and he gave her a look mixed with both embarrassment and a little bit of pride, scratching the back of his neck with a meek chuckle, "Yeah, I always pictured myself as a girl dad though."
Her grin went even wider, and she laughed, "I thought you said you were too young to think about things like this?!"
***
*Exactly Twenty Years Later*
Ben peeked his head into the nursery to greet his beautiful son that was most likely asleep after being fed and changed, only to find the room empty and crib missing.
His mind knew that if his son wasn't in his crib then he would obviously be in the arms of his mother and yet, as he sped to your shared bedroom, he felt a slight panic thrum through his veins.
Everyone had brought this to his attention time and time again; that he had become extremely high-strung when it came to his family. Especially since you had gotten pregnant. It was only when his son was on the way did he realize just how fragile everything was and how quickly it could be ripped away from him.
He passed his arm over the sensor at your door, it immediately recognizing the signal from his Omnitrix and unlocking the door before entering, finding you settled on your bed, Kenny clutched close to your heart.
You watched him cross the bedroom in long strides and settle on the mattress beside you, saying nothing about the clear distress that you had seen on his face when the door opened before it was flooded with relief. You understood; you had felt the same way, which is why you had rolled your son's crib into your bedroom so you could keep a close eye on him for the rest of the night.
You turned your gaze back to the baby in your arms, gently tracing his features with the tip of your pinkie finger, watching with a deep fondness and adoration as Kenny's little face would scrunch up every time you caressed his button nose.
"He's okay, right?" Your husband questioned, needing your reassurance for the last bit of worry for his son to evaporate.
"You think I'd be sitting here without a care in the world if he wasn't?" You murmured, not lifting your eyes from his precious face.
Ben chuckled at this, "Yeah, like that time he got the hiccups, and you couldn't sleep the entire night because you kept checking on him in four-minute intervals?"
"What if his little diaphragm got fatigued?" You mumbled; brows furrowed at the thought. Constant hiccups were painful to deal with as an adult, you could only imagine how painful it would be for a baby who didn’t know what the pain was or how to communicate his pain to his parents.
Ben didn’t respond, already having been through this conversation with you the very night it happened.
The two of you continued to watch your son in silence, finding every single little breath he took interesting as you continued to graze your finger over his skin, now tracing the outline of his little lips, the bottom lip tucked tightly into his mouth as he slept.
Ben shifted closer to you, taking the two of you in his arms and pressing a kiss to the side of your head as one of his arms came to support yours and bear the weight of your son as well.
"I'm sorry for saying that you didn't care about Kenny and only the mission. I know you worry about him more than you express, and I appreciate everything you do for the both of us."
"You were just lashing out of worry." You replied, leaning against him, "It was the first time we both left our home without him, even though we didn't technically leave him alone for a second. I felt uneasy about it as well."
"Regardless, I shouldn't have said that you didn't care, Kenny and I know you love us."
"I do."
You quietened down immediately when your son took a big breath, slightly stirring before he fell back asleep, the littlest smile on his little face.

Ken just wanted to visit his sister...
So I was thinking how nice it would have been to have an episode where Ken visits Gwen at Friedkin. But the more I thought about it, the more I realised how utterly bizarre and bewildering that visit would be. Gwen and Kevin are showing Ken around and introducing him to people and it just keeps getting weirder and weirder, just imagine:
Because first up you've got Zed, Kevin's alien dog who used to be one of Ben's enemies. Then you've got Professor Hex who used to be one of Gwen's enemies.
Depending on what was supposed to happen after 'The Most Dangerous Game Show,' it's highly likely that Charmcaster is still at Friedkin, who of course was Gwen's number 1 enemy. If this was a couple months later, then maybe Gwen has succeeded in befriending her and helping her change her life for the better. Or if Charmcaster hasn't quite changed yet, then she'd either still be trapped in her bag, or possibly be allowed out of it for some freedom but with a spell on her to stop her using her magic so she couldn't harm anyone (like the spell Gwen put on Darkstar) and either way this is going to look majorly weird.
Then there's Professor Xagliv 'The Art History Professor of Death' who isn't actually an enemy, but was once mistaken for one of Ben's old enemies (Vilgax)
There's also Professor Aniceto from the drama department, who for some reason was stealing plutonium and ended up fighting Lucky Girl.
Ken: The eyes on that painting keep following me..
Kevin: Yeah they do that, don't stare at them too long or they might try to steal your soul
And Kevin's only half-joking because no ones really sure why the paintings do that and knowing Friedkin University it's possible they're actually haunted or cursed.
The guy who sells sandwiches isn't evil (as far as we know) but gives off a really ominous vibe.
They walk past a group of students and Ken asks his sister why some of them are wearing dark robes; "Are they part of a D&D club?" And they explain that no, actually they used to be part of a cult that worshiped this guy who's still Gwen's enemy (Darkstar)
Kevin: Don't worry, we beat him and he doesn't go here anymore. We don't really know what those kids do anymore but they haven't caused anymore trouble so it's cool I guess.
Ken: Wait that guy used to go here?
And they're walking around showing Ken the buildings and he points at one.
Ken: That looks new, is the University expanding?
Gwen: No that's just repair work from when Charmcaster sliced the building in half when we fought once. And that new archway over there was built after she destroyed the last one when she turned into a dragon.
Ken: ...
Kevin, grumbling: And over there is where she made my car vanish.
By the time they run into Bezel, Ken's just like "let me guess, he used to be one of your enemies too?" And Gwen tells him "actually, no! He is however the most powerful sorcerer in the universe." And right on cue, Bezel pulls out a deck of cards (that are clearly facing the wrong way) brandishes them at Ken, and gleefully asks him to pick one.
Other than the DNAlien incident, it's probably the weirdest visit Ken's ever done (but thankfully far less traumatizing)
