This is about the Yasmina coming out scene

I said it and I need to say it again

There was something personal to Ben abt that Yasmina coming out scene. Bc no way everything he said was totally unrelated with his personal life.

When he came up with that whole dialogue abt feelings, it felt like he knew what he was talking abt .

His words felt trained, not like a speech, obviously, but more like when you think so much about something you just figured out that it feels natural to talk about that, u know?

What I mean is, it feels like he went through personal experiences and figured out something based on them, so when Yasmina came out to him, it was easier for Ben to come up with words to help her.

Also I need to mention that I love that scene in S4 when he "rejects" Yasmina and says that thing abt finding himself, bc it clicks with his S5 dialogues about feelings. So it would make sense for him to have been through a self discovery moment and then to advise Yasmina based on that.

Ben obviously enjoy dinosaurs too, but I feel like he starts listing all the dino facts he knows to kind of impress Darius?  

Like I know you said he wants to mess with him but what if  one day he FINALLY told a fact that surprised Darius and  it was the best feeling ever.

And then Ben discovered he liked this feeling, but doesn't even realize that he felt like that bc he impressed Darius. And he doesn't know why he blushes over it.

Meanwhile Darius likes the competition, but he also thinks Ben wants to prove he is smart or something like that. And for him it is so silly, bc Darius already thinks  Ben is an awesome and intelligent person. 

But did he say it to Ben? No bc for some reason he gets all awkward and blushing when he starts to compliment Ben to much. So he just keep going with this dino facts game forever and they bond over it.

Jwct headcanon: Sometimes Ben and Darius compete about who knows more facts about dinosaurs. Darius ofc bc he was a dino nerd his whole life, and Ben bc he learned a lot while living on the island later with mae. (Often Ben starts it just to mess a little with Darius, and Darius takes this competition very seriously)

I've been a "Benrius person" since jwcc but u're so right, their interactions in jwct in fact leave room for interpretation.

And combining their jwct interactions, their jwcc background, and enough screentime, they have potential to so much more dramatic scenes (and funny ones too).

But anyway, I'm not gonna create expectations abt it bc we never know

whether you like it or not, Ben's chemistry with Darius in the first episodes of CT season 1 (and later too! the wink in season 2??? hello???) is so freaking good.

Like. I wasn't a benrius person in CC but when I saw these two during the "road trip" at the beginning of Choas Theory????? I was ready to invite myself to their wedding. I remember watching the first two or three episodes (before Ben said that he had a girlfriend from "yyy, Europe") and I was sure, absolutely certain, that the show was setting them up – their conversations, the way they looked at each other? It all looked like a build-up for a romantic development. It even vaguely reminded me of how Kenji was pining after Brooklynn in CC season 4. I was so sure that at some point we would hear romantic music playing in the distance.

"But friends can be close like that too."

Bro, I would die for my best friend, and we are both so gay, lord help us, but I don't gaze at them lovingly and longingly while they fall asleep.

And it really sucks a lot because if Ben's girlfriend turns out to be real, the benrius in CT is just... they have so much wasted potential. Like, after rewatching CC, I still don't see them as a couple in CC. In CT however?? Their chemistry, their interactions, their behavior... everything just clicks. I really think that they could work really well as a couple. And I think that the setup is pretty neat too... Idk... so much wasted potential there you know...

In my wildest dreams, I think: ok, maybe Darius will be heartbroken after Brooklynn (who decides that for no,w she will be better on her own), and Ben's gf will turn out to be a catfish and somehow these two will end up together but even I can see that it may just a be a bit of a stretch.

I can see him being AuDHD! I don't have scenes to prove it but I can totally imagine him lacking social cues for example! Or even having trouble with social interactions and making new friends... And having hyperfocus as mentioned before!

I'm wondering what it was like for Ben on the college... I feel like he might have felt excluded. And the undiagnosed AuDHD symptoms must have been the worst.

And talking about hyperfocus, HE TOTALLY HYPERFOCUSED ON THAT DINO CONSPIRACY. That's why he discovered that website, and discovered Camp Fam were being followed... That board he created with the names lmao, he hyperfocused so hard that I BET he forgot to even eat.

About the socks, omg I wished there was a scene abt it bc I can totally see that lmao!

And let's talk about HUGS! Because for me Darius is the type of autistic person who crave hugs from his loved ones, and Ben is more neutral about them ! But when Darius hugs him he'll always gets surprised, since Darius gives Ben the tightest hugs <3

And abt the dino special interest, I have a headcanon about it on this post here! I think Ben doesn't remember as much facts abt dinos as Darius bc first: Darius's been into paleontology a lot longer than Ben, and second: I hc that Ben memory is not the best (maybe bc of the ADHD? Idk ).

About contamination OCD, I tried to imagine it but I can't 😭🙏 so feel free to make ur comments abt what I interpreted from jwcc and jwct :

Maybe bc he eats on a boot on jwct season 1, I kinda see him as having trouble with organizing stuff, doing chores, and with eating properly, not with contamination.

That thing he had on jwcc s1 abt contamination is, for me, more of a fear his parents tried to implement on him.

I feel like, during s2- s3, he found his way out of this habit making it really less recurrent bc he started doing what he truly wanted to do, and stoped to base his actions on insecurities that I personally think were caused by his parents... So basically I feel like that " habit" he had on s1 has not enough frequency for it being a compulsion u know?

And this doesn't mean after season 2 he doesn't have insecurities anymore, I'm just saying some of his fears were suppressed by his desire of being free to be himself...

Oh, and I love how his character arc have this frequently metaphor about "changing". I say that since wanting changes is a common thing for ADHDers...
