Man, all respect to the artists over on the Chaos Theory crew, their work is wonderful!! Ben’s design is objectively good!

But that’s just not registering as Ben to me. Like there’s a fundamental disconnect in my brain between the guy in that trailer and Ben. Like…. Ahhh?????? I’m viscerally upset by it for no apparent reason. Unironically, if I end up watching chaos theory, I’m gonna have to hover a sticky note over his face the whole time because I Cannot Deal. Why do I feel this way??? What’s happening to me??? RAHHHHHH

I also just have weird problems with watching 3D animated shows in general, like a straight up physical aversion, so that could be it as well. Who knows

“Chang Can Dunk” is the coming-of-age sports film — which begins streaming March 10 on Disney+ — follows Chang (Bloom Li), an unpopular high schooler who loves basketball and Pokémon. Chang finds himself wagering a bet with the school’s all-star player, Matt (Chase Liefeld), that he will be able to make a slam dunk — in 12 weeks time.

The film also stars Zoe Renee, Ben Wang, Dexter Darden, Eric Anthony Lopez, Nile Bullock, Mardy Ma and Angel Oquendo.

the most recognized as comedic song being the best part of the movie musical because the conventions that serve as a mode of communicating ideas, for example "people just bursting into song" or "choreography" or "'noticeably stylized' cinematography" that accentuates nonliteral nonrealism-invoking choices, are regarded as Silly or Frivolous. and the effort to shove everything else that's more "serious" into what is expected to be read as dramatic cinema that's not stylized in any ways that seem too "Genre" which only makes [but someone's singing?] underwhelming and out of place because no other elements are supporting it

A dare?

Ben flushed up to the tips of his ears, the bright, healthy pink spreading toward his neck and chest as he swallowed. "Madam, I...I-I feel inclined to do whatever the lady commands, but..." Surely, she wasn't serious?

Finally, a hint of amusement touched his mouth and he looked away, shaking his head. "Please speak true: as my honorary sparring partner, you are not using this as an excuse to stab me, are you? To gain the upper hand? To render me helpless and impotent?"

Stepping towards Esmeralda, Ben set aside his foil and propped it against a neighboring bush, if only to prove he had no designs on attack.

“Forgive me…” He took her hand and drew it over his heart, alerting her to the frantic thudding beneath her palm. This was new to him -- he was not accustomed to being forward nor acting on his desires -- and with a shaky breath, he leaned forward and mouthed at her parted lips, clasping her waist before claiming her mouth in a tentative, yet eager kiss that escalated in needful aggression. 

Warmth spread through him – speared through him, in fact, until Ben was dizzily grasping at her shoulders, fumbling like a schoolboy with his first kiss. But this wasn’t Ben’s first kiss – it was far worse. It was his first kiss after the w.ar, and somehow, his body had rejected all tactile comfort out of some misplaced fear and need for self-preservation.

Parting their lips with a low, shallow breath, a splash of boyish panic touched his features and he withdrew, glassy-eyed and embarrassed. Clearing his throat, Ben stammered, "I...I hope that was...? W-well, I would rather not be run through for fulfilling a request."
