Just finished The Spider by Leo Carew, book 2 of the Under the Northern Sky series, and oh my goodness, my heart. Mainly because my favorite character died but also how much the Anakim were struggling in this one. Roper was really tested in this, and crazy if I'm being honest. I can't believe there's one more book, and curious to see how Bellamus and the Sutherners will respond to the Anakim's victory.

Hello everyone and Happy New Releases Tuesday! Today is the release day of many great books and among them is one that I have heard many good things from book reviewers tht I trust. I am talking about The Cuckoo by Leo Carew which is an epic fantasy and the 3rd book in the Under the Northern Sky series. The other two books are The Wolf and The Spider. *** Here is the synopsis but keep in mind that it might contain spoilers for the previous books: Albion continues to be divided by revolt and bloodshed, as alliances collapse and are made anew. Driven obsessively for glory, the upstart Bellamus and his exiled queen Aramilla are marshalling resistance and building a powerful army. Returning to the Hindrunn, Keturah is forced to fend for herself, battling enemies on all sides just when she is most in need of a place of safety. And all the while, the young Black Lord must deal not only with the aftermath of a great betrayal, but the cold shadow of the Kryptea, threatening to destroy everything he has fought for... *** #TheCuckoo #UnderTheNorthernSky #LeoCarew Challenges: #LMSDecember2022 - Worth The Hype #MyFandomObsessionsDec22 - The City of Brass: non-western world or metallic colors #fantasyreader #fantasybook #bookaddict #bookcommunity #readingismagic #bookblogger #bookreviewer #greekbookstagram #instavivlio #vivlio #diavazo #eucitesc #mybookfeatures #over30sbookstagram #bookstamums #booknotes_athina (at Sitia , Crête) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cl1gIlWreV7/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

bellamu blake vs. poe dameron
You know, if I’d been asked this some time ago, I would have said Bellamy Blake without hesitation, but I’ve been so soured on the 100 and on his character now. Season 1-5 Bellamy Blake, yeah. But I’m finding it hard to separate that version of him from my feelings now, and those feelings range from indifference to “meeeeeehhhh” At least Poe Dameron could take me flying xD so he is my choice.

Made-in-Heritage-Hotel Marriages
Marriages are made in heaven, as the old Indian adage goes. But there is more to Indian marriages than what meets the eye in terms of cultural relevance and context. They are fat; they are extravagant; they are colourful and represent the diverse fabric composition of our culture. Thanks to Bollywood culture and the great Indian Diaspora, the Big Fat Indian Wedding has caught the world by storm. There is a long list of age-old traditions of an Indian wedding practised even today by conservative Indian families all over the world. Not to mention the staggering number of guests, and sumptuous display of delectable foods and drinks. North Indian weddings, especially, are fun-filled and jam-packed with a multitude of traditional ceremonies including Sangeeth, in addition to Haldi, Mehendi, Baraatis, etc.

South Indian weddings are usually marked by different religious ceremonies such as Kashi Yatra Mangal Snanam, Gauri Ganesh Puja, Aarti, Kanyadaan, Kanyadaan Akshata, Mangalsutra, and Jeelakarra-Bellamu. Now coming to our topic in hand, heritage hotels lend a royalty experience etched in memory, transporting the marriage party to the time of royal opulence. The heritage mansions fit the bill perfectly for those looking to cut corners whilst inexplicably enchanting at the same time. Most heritage hotels are a far cry from the hustle and bustle of the city life outside its towering walls. They turn into a welcome site to rub shoulders with your guests and hang around for pre-wedding ceremonies.
While the buffet can be elegant and detailed enough to go with the most sophisticated gourmet flavour, dance performances by folk artists and local puppeteers add steam to the overall proceedings. Elaborate wedding arrangements could be made at the verdant gardens or courtyard of heritage hotels—their tranquility can be both pleasantly surprising and soothing!
Heritage hotels can rekindle the lavish lifestyle of erstwhile Indian rulers and throw a wedding that is incomparably regal, striking the right chord with the newlywed and their guests.

The Spider

The Spider by Leo Carew My rating: 4 of 5 stars The Spider book two of Leo Carew’s Under the Northern Sky trilogy finds the young Black Lord Roper triumphant as a military leader, having defeated the Sutherner armies, his Anakim rival Uvoren and cementing his leadership over the Anakim. However, actions have consequences, not all Anakim are pleased, a disgruntled ally hides a ruthless ambition and not all Anakim relish military conquest. But Roper isn’t done with the Sutherners. Hell bent on revenge Roper sets out on a mission to find new allies to accomplish his goal of destroying the Sutherner capital and securing all of Albion for the Anakim. The Spider begins with a tragedy at the Haskoli, the brutal training school that produces the Anakim legionnaires. Unable to investigate himself, Roper leaves an Inquisitor and two guardsmen to find an assassin and the answers to the identity of the shadowy manipulator Ellengaest. The Haskoli narrative is an interesting addition, the new characters make a curious team, showing some quirks of character and culture that add a lot more depth to the general militarised Anakim society. The Haskoli narrative initially seems like an exciting murder investigation that has huge implications for the series but as it progresses it also expounds upon Roper’s psychological background and the brutal training of the Haskoli shows why, as a product of this system, determination is Roper’s most defining trait. Sadly the Haskoli narrative does not live up to its initial promise and ends up doing the characters something of a disservice and with the Ellengaest's identity very much signposted seems like a missed opportunity. Roper’s determination and its effect on his decision making is the main impetus for the overall narrative, it is his decision to utilise the conniving Vigtyr and not reward his efforts that instigates the events at the Haskoli to tragic effect. Roper also makes the decision to invade and conquer Suthdal with the help of the monstrous giant Unhieru another set of decisions that The Spider does well to imply will have disastrous ramifications for the Anakim. As his wife Keturah points out, Roper is ‘Thoughtless’ and has yet to crack the balance between being a military leader and being the Black Lord. As the immense stress of campaigning in Suthdal brings Roper to breaking point The Spider does a good job of highlighting Roper’s internal struggles that pit his Haskoli training and determination against the realities of leadership and the consequences of his decisions. It is good character development. Above all the latent threat of the Krpytea’s judgement hangs over Roper’s actions and it is left abstrusely off stage what Jokul and the Krpytea have decided about Roper’s leadership. It makes The Cuckoo (book 3) that much more of an interesting proposition. Roper’s decision to enlist the giant Unhieru is perhaps the most intriguing aspect of The Spider. As a species the Unhieru are more of a true anthropological experiment than the Anakim were in The Wolf. There is something truly threatening and sinister about Unhieru physiology and culture, their giant size, hidden intelligence and pure psychosis of their ‘other-mind’ coupled with their ability to instil terror mark them out as a unique addition to the fantasy bestiary. Roper’s interaction with the Unhieru is filled with torturous challenges, excessive gore and menace and Carew’s depictions evoke Goya’s ‘Saturn Devouring his Son’ mixed with Grendal. Yet this is as nothing to the violent promise of an unnamed Unhieru clad in monstrous chain mail clanking a giant axe across cobbled streets. The Unhieru depicted in gory bloodletting are truly terrifying and Roper’s decision to send arms and armour to these beasts will surely have bloody ramifications for the Anakim … Another reason why The Cuckoo (book 3) will be a must read. Not to be forgotten are the Suthdal characters. Bellamus the Spymaster is back to his conniving best twisting Anakim and Suthdal both to secure his ends. As a character Bellamus is more rounded out showing some loyalty and care to friends and even morals in a quandary over the use of a devastating weapon. Bellamus makes quite a nice juxtaposition with Roper. Convenient timing keeps Bellamus from making a fateful decision and unlike Roper Bellamus abdicates responsibility and guilt for his actions. The fact that Bellamus arguably ends The Spider closer to absolute power, armed with a more intimate knowledge of Roper and the Anakim and unburdened with any self-reflective guilt probably means yet more disastrous ramifications….A third reason way The Cuckoo (book 3) is brimming with epic potential. The addition of new characters and fresh perspectives fill The Spider with some much more needed balance and depth than The Wolf. The improvements in character and motivations coupled with an expansion of the anthropological details bring a more visceral lucidity to the clash of cultures immersing the reader in a world that is on the brink. Overall The Spider is something of a scene setter, despite his efforts and success Roper is almost besieged by latent threats and The Cuckoo is shaping up to be quite the quite the conclusion to the series. 1, 10, and any fic ask you want to answer about The Butterflies!
oooh tsym! The Butterflies
What is your favorite thing about this fic?
Bellamus Blandimus. That name still makes me giggle to this day.
On a more serious note, I really like the beginning of each section - the narration of whether or not Octavia knows the names on her wrists, and how she feels about it. It always ties in the ending of the previous section, and they were probably my favourite parts to write.
Was there anything that gave you inspiration to come up with this story?
Besides the Chopped tropes? Lol. Ummm, I don’t think there was anything specific? I think I had rewatched the movie Pompeii a few days before starting to write, which probably inspired the Roman section, but otherwise I think it just kind of naturally came to me.
Favorite line of narration
I’m sorry I just really love the opening of this fic >,
For as long as Octavia Blandina could remember, there had been two names on her wrist. One was her own, and the other was a curious name, one she did not recognize as any proper Roman name. Her brother, Bellamus Blandimus had told her years before that one name was that of her soulmate, appointed by Cupid, and the other would be her worst enemy. She wasn’t sure which name she wanted as her soulmate. Bellamus kept cloth rags tied around his wrists, and she never knew which names were on him. Perhaps it was for the better.
For years, she pushed the thought to the back of her head. It was easier to pretend the marks on her wrists didn’t exist. Then it became less confusing. She could focus on being the dutiful sister, maintaining the small home she occupied with her brother, staying out of the public eye due to the shame brought upon them by their mother. In fact, Octavia was almost certain the people of Rome had forgotten she existed. Bellamus was careful not to talk about her, for her own protection, lest other men took it upon themselves to steal her away. Left to her own devices, all Octavia could do was read the books her brother brought back for her.
When she slept, though, she couldn’t help it. Images would flash through her dreams of a Moorish man, always the same man. She would see him dressed in the same tunic she associated with her brother, but also curiously dressed in clothing she had never seen before in her life. She never remembered his face when she awoke, but sometimes she would wake with a hot blush upon her cheeks and a strange tingling to her lips. She couldn’t help but think that perhaps this Moor was the bearer of the strange name on her right wrist. She refused, however, to wonder whether he was her soulmate or her enemy.

The 100
sezon 6
Aby umowa Dyozy była nadal aktualna musi ona odnaleźć Gabriela i go zabić.
Tymczasem w Sanctum Clarke zostaje obezwładniona i porwana.
Włamuje się do laboratorium, gdzie odnajdują go inni.
Razem z grupą chcą z nią uciec do Gabriela, aby przywrócić Clarke. Jednak ich ucieczce przeszkadza alarm. Maddie zabija dwie osoby z Primesów. Przyjaciele mają odwrócić uwagę, aby sam Bellamy zdoał uciec.
Dyoza i Octavia w końcu odnajdują Xaviera. Jednak w pojmaniu go przeszkadza choroba Octavii. Dyoza i Octavia wchodzą do anomalii.
Poza Bellamy wraz z Josie docierają do dzieci Gabriela.
Zabija ją i całą rodzinę Primesa. Bohaterom udaje się przywrócić Maddie do poprzedniego stanu uwalniając ją spod wpływu sadystycznego Dowódcy, który przejął nad nią kontrolę. W wyniku czego Maddie traci Płomień i przestaje być Wodzem Wonkru. Bohaterowie nie wiedzą jednak, gdzie antagonista uciekł przed skasowaniem.
Gdy docierają do Sanctum znajdują stosy ofiar.
Zabiera ją wraz z innymi do swojego obozu.

Into The Darkest Heart of The British Empire: NECRONOMIDOL in London @NECRONOMIDOL via @cobranaconda #homicidols
Pukovnik Krv and Kerrie hit up the NECRONOMIDOL show in London this past week, where an interview may have been conducted(!) and many photos taken. Here’s Krv’s take on the event, plus many of said photos. If you dig it, why not give my dude’s Bandcamp a look, too? A few days have now passed since the convening of spirits that occurred one fateful night in The Smoke, rousing rowdy rambunctious…

He only laughed more, moving to pull Bellamus back up onto the bed, curling around the small omega. “Mm, be more careful next time. I don’t want you getting hurt.” Jett murmured.
“Excuse me, but can you help me?”
Jett turned his head a little, looking towards the source of the voice. “Ah, of course. What can I help you with?” He asked, his voice low yet polite as he spoke.

Yeah Marardo and Bellamu are demons you never met. My bad, but thought you would have heard something about them... I wonder why you remember Yuga so... Do you remember that he took over your body to get the triforce of power?

a world Smol and Made and have been making for a few years now
This is gonna be kinda long so
If you really care about it then keep reading.
So, Smol and I in free roaming multiplayer games would absolutely LOVE to make up stories for our characters. The world that we’ve had the longest is one where we decided that mythical + steampunk set world. Smol had the very main character role and I would make up side characters plus the second main character. It was a world where a very select few kids chosen by the leaders of certain areas would get to have a mythical partner and could get a maximum of 3. These partners could be human-like or animal-like
Smol’s character named Celm Oddlum ended up with a Pheonix from the Bow and Arrow he had grabbed to start with. They went on quests and eventually could get another partner after a few months of training and taking on missions in from a guild. This time Celm decided on a less attack and more defensive getting a Possessed Doll from that time. After tons of more training Celm could have the choice of getting a 3rd partner or helping his Phoenix ‘awaken’ which would change its form and make it stronger permanently with its own choices of its own name but still bound to Celm. He let his Phoenix decide who agreed. In his Awakened Stage His Phoenix was somewhat human, but had enhanced. His Phoenix Partner ( which we were tempted to name Wright) named himself Bellamus. Celm after another whole year finally got to choose his final partner. He ended up with a Dryad ( or Tree Nymph ). Celm was going to give her a nickname but named herself Elvira.
Later on we introduced a female Rival to Smol’s protag Which we named June Lunun. Her team consisted of a Awakened Gargoyle humanlike creature named Cornelia, A pup hellhound, and a pixie nicknamed Lulu. They both were from the 3 rival Guilds. Calm was in Quickbane while June was in Solarguard we were going to make a three way rivalry with the other being in Poisontalons. Smol and I recently decided to make the Smol world and share maybe mini scenes from rps we’ve had during it. Maybe have a bigger cast of characters. Who knows, either way just look out for small doodle comics of the world Smol and I had made.
