It’s so — annoying, how much she loves him.

Because this isn’t her brother, not really.  This is just...someone who looks just like him, talks just like him, moves so much like him.  And as much as her brain knows that he’s not Sonic, her stupid, missing heart doesn’t, and she’s lost her family three times now, and he looks and feels just like her Sonic, and she wants even the facade of family ———

It’s so much lonelier, to look at someone she loves who doesn’t know her at all, to look at someone and know that any comfort is false, than it would be if there was no Sonic at all.

He catches her wrist when she makes to leave, voice and eyes concerned and kind, “You’re clearly exhausted.  You can go in the morning.”  She bites out a quiet laugh, serrated and aching, at the way he’s so much like her brother in this, too.

“To be honest,” she starts, not looking back at him, wondering how his grip on her wrist can feel so similar to his grip on her wrist / and not shaking out of his grip, because she misses him, because she wants to pretend, just for a second, “I think I’d get worse sleep here.”

He releases her hand and hers drops back to her side, and she laughs again, a single breath of a sound.  “You...can’t know how it feels.  To...”

To have been ripped away from your family three times.  To lose your mother and depend on your brothers to fill the gap and then to lose them, too.  To love someone who isn’t here, but there’s someone who looks and sounds just like him there.  To miss someone who’s right here.  To be family to someone who is not your brother.  TO MISS YOUR BROTHER, FOR THE CLOSEST THING IN THE WORLD TO NOT MISS YOU.

“To be this kind of alone,” she settles on, voice tired.  Sonic doesn’t say anything — or, if he does, he’s not quick enough, because the girl who’s nearly as fast as he is is already gone.

Tails is one of the rare friends, if not the only friend, Sonic's met without it being tied to an Eggman scheme, and that extends to the movieverse: Tom met Sonic because the latter had to hide in the former's garage from Robotnik, Maddie met Sonic because the latter got hurt by Robotnik's mini bomb and the former was the only one capable of bringing him back to consciousness, Knuckles met Sonic because Robotnik tricked the former, and there's no doubt Shadow gonna meet Sonic because Robotnik's the one who uncovers the former. However, Sonic's loneliness blast was discovered by another lonely kid before any of that, and Tails didn't even decide to finally meet him because of Robotnik, but Knuckles.

In gameverse, Sonic met Tails because the chaos emeralds led him towards Westside Island long before Eggman even started any schemes there. And chaos emeralds don't just play around so to speak, they led him towards Tails

And in movie verse, Sonic's best friend found him the exact moment Sonic believed he would be alone forever

Even the universe itself guides these two towards each other. They are a Cosmic Truth, in every sense of the word

i wish i had more of a handle on knuckles i wanna do serious character analysis on knuckles.

easily embarrassed. easily angered. full of love. trusted too easily and now doesn't trust anyone (except for like 6 people). poor guy's first friend was eggman and like it or not it informs a lot of who he is today and how he interacts with people. super awkward from being isolated for so long (knuckles and silver solidarity). obviously cares deeply about his land and culture, loves it and mourns for it in equal measure every day. protects his true friends and is always there if you truly need him, despite his insincere grumblings. scared of company, grateful for company, longs for company.

great forager and gardener. bad with technology, overstimulated by bright lights and a lot of noise, is generally a guy who Wants To Go Home (his autism....). uncomfortable in positions of authority (The War) but still likes to Have A Say. does not tolerate nonsense unless he's in on the nonsense (sonic and him shoot each other out of cannons for fun i think). skilled weaver, skilled at making jewelry, skilled with survival, awkward around chao but is still very very good with them because he's lived with them his whole life.

adventurous, though not great at adapting to new situations (the autism). likes exploring / learning about other ancient cultures, languages, and peoples. curious about the nature of the world (where the master emerald came from, general existential stuff). likes a challenge. shows affection via mutual snark and/or deep talk about the universe. doesn't know much about planes but likes listening to tails talk about them.

is so hard on himself that he seriously contemplates ending his own life if he feels like he has failed his duties. feels like he exists for one purpose, despite his value to the world being much more than that. fears leaving his post because of multiple terrible experiences around leaving the master emerald unguarded, making him paranoid and wary, but his initially justified fear ends up isolating him and stunting him further. good thing his friends are so insistent on visiting and getting him out to see the world - he needs that.

again, is always there when you really need him. isn't good at emotional stuff but is a great shoulder to cry on nonetheless. heart achingly honest and genuine. will say what he thinks. doesn't pick up on social cues very well (autism). doesn't like admitting when HE needs a shoulder to cry on, but his loving friends are there for him even if he doesn't say anything - they know him well.

pushes people away to make himself feel safe and protect his squishy center - some of his best friends annoy the shit out of him because they insisted on being best friends with him anyway. great company once you get to know him. makes people laugh - time spent with sonic has honed his sense of humor.

precise, steady hands. great spatial awareness and reasoning. knowledgable about traditional medicine. is very clean and smells good. punches real good. good at conserving ancient artifacts and ruins - cleaning them, protecting them, maybe even retouching them or making some of his own.

he's so scared of being wronged. he longs for company. he's lonely. he's hard on himself. he's so full of love. he looks amazing in hats. and his song lied he DEFINITELY chuckles

So you mentioned Scourge being self aware about the Genesis wave, and that you have your own au about that.

As someone who is also a huge fan of this concept, I politely ask that you tell me more about that.

AAAOKAYOKAY WAIT aAaAAA I LOEBV YIU So it starts off at the end of the prison breakout comic, the part where we were left on a cliffhanger but we were able to assume that Scourge had a BIG arc ahead of him if we were able to see what happened next, and once Scourge is done announcing how him and the destructix(+ Fiona) have a new set of plans, something happens. Everything and everyone freezes in place, not changing positions, not moving, not even blinking. Expect for Scourge.

At first Scourge is confused and assumes the gang are playing a trick on him and is like “Can y'all like STOP I'll kill you bro wtf r u doing” but then soon goes to realize that this happened to literally EVERYTHING. Everyone he knows isn't moving a bit, and he is SO confused. He slowly begins to actually like, understand what's happening?? But he doesn't at the same time.. Like, he has no idea why everyone is frozen but he knows they are, and he knows that time itself is probably frozen. So this dumbass is like okay whatever but then days go by and he's just alone, stuck with that haunting reminder that everyone is frozen and it can't be fixed, expect for him.

He’s forced to witness everyone ignore him, and he is unable to do SHIT. Constantly being alone.. Alone with himself.

As years go by, he starts to lose personality, going insane as the fabric of reality crumbles in on itself. Desperate to the point where he'd even want to see SONIC of all people,

Until something finally happens.

As he's miserably walking by himself, he notices something. A torn hole, seemingly in nothing. Like, he's strolling through the same forest he and the Destructix were in and he just notices that a random thing Is just floating. It starts to expand, growing like a virus as it consumes everything in its path. Scourge tries to avoid it, but due to how desperate he's gotten for a change, he gives in and goes into it.

Suddenly, he's in a black void with cyan mixed with it. Kinda like this:

And he's just FLABBERGASTED. He's walking around, stunned, and his appearance itself has changed(still haven't made a design yet, but I will soon), although he can't bring himself to muster up any care for that not only because of the fact that he's been isolated for a decade but because he notices something in front of him, a floating little box type thing that, when he looks into, has something .. SOMEBODY inside.

It's the sonic universe right now, mainly IDW, and in that box he comes across Surge. He looks at her, and suddenly everything hits like a train. He becomes self aware, finally realizing what happened and stares at his replacement, lifeless yet filled with rage. Meanwhile he's still alone, the others cannot see him and don't know that he's watching, but Scourge is there.

Observing in the black, cybernetic type void, cold and lonely, but also, deep down inside of him,

He's enraged.

that certainly puts Robotnik in a different light in my eyes, that makes so much sense, i never thought about how nuanced his backstory is, thank you so much for sharing, im saving this so that i remember

Movie Robotnik is such an incredibly nuanced portrayal of Robotnik, it’s genuinely become one of my favourites! I’m happy I could shed some more light onto him for you!

I really do have a lot of thoughts about the whole thing, in both movies even just watching them as they are, if you really pay attention to Robotnik’s scenes, he’s an asshole, sure, but his words aren’t… villain-like really at all, not in any literal sense. When he’s being the bad guy everything is played up to fit that role, because it’s the one everyone else has cast him in.

A lot of his dialogue is actually really sad when you look at the lines more isolated? The brief looks into his childhood, the implications that he expects to be alone in the end not because he leaves but because everyone leaves him. The parallels he draws between him and Sonic, about not belonging, the way that everything points to him being lonely. The way that him and Sonic are two sides of the same coin but he never get’s anything for his struggles. That he became so bitter and jaded because he never had any shred of love or care given to him his whole life. And if he ever did receive any, it always ended bad.

These aren’t the actions and words of an evil man, honestly, I think he’d be content just building robots if he didn’t feel the intense need to prove himself and do things so big and vast to finally be seen by someone. He wants to be recognized, to be praised and to be acknowledged, but at the same time he’s determined to make himself more unapproachable and unlikable than he actually is, because if he cuts everyone off first, he can claim it’s his doing, that he’s the one that needs no one, instead of living with the fact that no one wants him around. It’s very plainly obvious that no one’s ever given him a chance. Not even Sonic gave him a chance, and it’s really shocking and sad because he’s really just holding up the biggest facade I’m sure could be broken down if anyone bothered to look past it for even a moment.

No one’s ever looked his way for anything but the fact he builds crazy machines. His ‘scheme’s’ growing bigger and bigger make sense in the perspective of him wanting to do something so grand no one will be able to look away from him finally. It seems more like a desperate attempt to be seen in a twisted roundabout way, rather than a genuine desire for world domination, given all the nuance you can pick up on him

I personally really enjoy viewing his character this way! He’s a jackass and will absolutely cause problems on purpose, but I think in universe he gets way more hate than he really deserves.

Into, Across and Beyond! Scripting: A Special Theory

In the space surrounding the multiverse, EV!Sonic, alongside Grace and an alternate version of Nitro, were looking at the various dimensions, one of which had a red mist surrounding it.

Grace: What universe is that one?

Lone Guardian Nitro: Of all the dimensions I've seen in my years, I do know this; that's the ORIGINAL universe, the one from which all those other Sonic realms stemmed from.

Grace: The Earth-Prime Theory... I never thought I'd actually see that in person. There's a theory that, if the prime universe of one franchise is wiped out, the universes stemming from it would outright decay. And if a universe is directly linked to it, undoing the events that made it would cause it to outright cease to exist.

LG!Nitro: But if that's the case, then the Shatterverse wouldn't be about, and yet it still is, despite that universe's Sonic stopping things from escalating.

EV!Sonic gazed at the Prime universe (Dimension PRIME-1991), taking in what he learned from Tekno when meeting her for the first time.

EV!Sonic: Tekno told me about this. The very universe she once helped when the Eggman there tried to really derail stuff by hiring all those guys from the various dimensions to help him stamp out the original me.

Speaking of that, the three spotted Sonic Prime and Shadow Prime floating through the cosmic void of space.

EV!Sonic: There's the guy!

Over where they were...

Sonic Prime / Modern Sonic: I thought the Shatterverse was pretty massive, but to think there are so many different universes like ours is just... awesome! Well, also terrifying, but still awesome!

Shadow Prime / Modern Shadow: Focus, Sonic! We don't have time for sight-seeing. Eggman's around here somewhere, and if he or those blood-crying freaks get their hands on the Paradox Prism, there's a big chance all of this could be erased from existence.

Modern Sonic: Right, right! Sorry. So... where exactly do we find him?

Modern Shadow: Through those links connecting the realms. It should take us straight there!

Back on the ground...

EV!Sonic: And Shadow too! Seems like that rivalry hasn't died down, heh.

Grace: You think he also had to deal with that, er, Toxinfect creep?

EV!Sonic: I doubt it. The original Sonic's barely kept down by anything, not even toxicity.

LG!Nitro: I mean, he did neutralise a god that destroyed the universe in the past, present AND future.

EV!Sonic: Quite a few Sonics have, as a matter of fact!

Grace turned to LG!Nitro.

Grace: So, how are you coping with being one of those on hand to help keep the whole multiverse safe?

LG!Nitro: It's pretty tough, all in all, but the friends I made along the way have been more than worth it in the end. My original counterpart, Neo and Nerila, you guys... That's what keeps me going!

Grace: Heh, glad to hear it!

EV!Sonic: I'm sorry your life hadn't gone the way you hoped it would, Nitro.

LG!Nitro: It's alright. But thanks for your support either way, you two.

Grace: Heh, don't mention it!

EV!Sonic: Well, should we be heading back? You two must have big plans at the moment.

LG!Nitro: You know it. Well, see you around!

Saw your ship name post, and I'm curious. What made you decide to make crystalbond and Metalicchaos? What type of dynamics did you have in mind for both of them?

Also own any thoughts on PhantomFox? It's definitely an odd one, but I'm willing to be sold on it.

Okay, so before I say anything, here is the rarepair list (in case someone reading doesn't know what these ships are)

Crystalbond/Crystalbondshipping

Why:

The "why" for this one is fairly simple honestly. The short answer is that as far as S3 of Prime is concerned, the reason we explicitly saw Nine create Alpha Grim Sonic and call him friend (despite proclaiming all of the Grim robots were his new friends) was so we would understand just how Sonic backstabbing Nine (in his eyes) affected Nine. In short, Nine pretty clearly was trying to fill the hole Sonic left in his life (while acting like he and Sonic can just easily part ways). Creating someone as a replacement for someone you try to pretend you don't care about anymore can be handled in a compelling fashion, especially when you add in that Alpha Grim Sonic is supposed to be a "mindless" robot on top of that.

The longer answer is that between S2 and S3 I actually became compelled by the idea of Chanine (or, more specifically, Nine using the prism to revive Chaos Sonic after the ending of Prime S2). I thought making Chaos Sonic Nine's companion and giving them complicated feelings (for example, Chaos Sonic being a robot who has feelings for Nine, but it's true these feelings began because Nine reprogrammed him to be loyal to him vs Nine very much using Chaos Sonic as a stand in for Sonic and to ignore his lingering feelings, but it’s also true that Nine is coming to value Chaos Sonic's existence too (and not just because he's his only link to Sonic without having Sonic himself)) was just a fascinating thing. And although I would be sad not seeing Chaos Sonic in S3, I sort of naturally channeled this disappointment into Alpha Grim Sonic

Or, to be more specific, I carried the basic idea from my chanine thoughts to Alpha Grim Sonic and Nine and imagined how their dynamic would be in this situation. I also thought "I mean, if people can imagine this situation with Chaos Sonic and Nine and ship them, then what if I shipped Alpha Grim Sonic and Nine for this same reason?"

Dynamic:

As for the crystalbond dynamic, this one is largely focused on the idea that the Alpha Grim robots aren't actually mindless thoughtless robots, and the idea that Alpha Grim Sonic is growing a soul. Post canon, I know Nine would miss Sonic a great deal, so it’s only natural for me to come up with the idea that Nine would try to rebuild Alpha Grim Sonic (so he doesn’t feel lonely and so he doesn’t feel unprotected against the universe).

For Nine, Alpha Grim Sonic becomes a comforting presence. But as time goes on and Nine grows more attached, he deals more with his hang up over the idea that he'd created Alpha Grim Sonic to do his bidding and protect him. In other words, on occasion, he feels stupid finding comfort in the robot, asking him to stay with him or hold him or do anything intimate, because this robot cannot feel back or think or make its own choices. To Nine, it feels stupid to be attached to a robot who cannot feel for you, a fact that (to Nine) can never change.

For Alpha Grim, he's slowly growing a soul, attachments, feeling new things. He is aware of what a robot like him should be capable of, and he isn't sure exactly what he is feeling at all times and why. But as time goes on, he yearns for Nine to understand just how much they care for him. They want to be considered someone important to Nine. And yet, he is unwilling to push boundaries or overstep their position, even by accident.

This dynamic is built upon a mutual slow burn yearning + miscommunication that revolves around Nine's statement that he'd made the Grim robots to be unable to talk back or think or have minds of their own so they'd obey unquestionably. They are both hung up on how Alpha Grim should be like as a robot despite the truth of what is going on, and it's tragic for the longest time (because Nine can't believe the robot could learn to feel for him of its own accord, and Alpha Grim refuses to possibly push boundaries or do what he has not been commanded (because to him, even as he wants to be important to Nine, he also makes himself okay with his place as long as he can be with Nine and protect him forever))

I'm not sure if it's ever resolved, but this relationship is meant to develop over time as Alpha Grim develops his soul and Nine grows more selfish at wanting the robot with him.

Metalicchaos/Metalicchaosshipping

Why:

Okay, so there actually was a brief period before S3 dropped that people shipped Alpha Grim Sonic and Chaos Sonic. When all we had was a clip and a design, Alpha Grim Sonic was quickly dubbed "Chaos Shadow" and all depictions of this ship labeled as "Metal Sonadow".

However, as far as I can tell, after S3 properly dropped and Alpha Grims Sonic's name was revealed, this ship sort of died down.

I actually shipped this ship for funsies during this period, but even though these two never ended up meeting I didn't see a reason to give up on the ship. So that's pretty much it. I shipped it for funsies because I'm a Sonadow fan and I kept shipping it when S3 came out and we learned more about Alpha Grim because I still liked the ship idea

But, of course, they can't very well be called "Metal Sonadow" at this point (even if I do still feel like Alpha Grim is more Shadow's robot countepart than Sonic's), especially with the name reveal. So I collaborated with a friend to come up with a proper ship name for them

The other "why" is that I was shipping Chanine and Crystalbond and was like "why don't I just complete this triangle?"

Dynamic:

In all honesty, two different dynamics exist for them in my head.

The first is considerably less "shippy" than the second, but it’s their dynamic during these post prime S3 au ideas I've been rambling on about. Essentially, at the beginning, the two start out growing jealous of each other's interactions with Nine. Each one wants to be the one™ at Nine's side and is afraid the other will be confirmed as Nine's #2, even though each refuses to believe they'd be replaced. Alpha Grim Sonic gets irked when Nine talks to Chaos Sonic more and treats him more like someone who lives and cares about him (Nine), and he dislikes how much more insubordinate Chaos Sonic is to Nine (since Chaos Sonic is willing to call Nine out, collaborate in the conversation by coming up with plans, talk back, is unconcerned at times with annoying Nine, etc vs Alpha Grim Sonic who cannot speak and largely only does what is commanded of him). Chaos Sonic fancies himself Nine's one and only best friend, so he's stuck between jealousy for how Nine trusts Alpha Grim Sonic and cares for him and being prideful, putting stock in the fact that Alpha Grim Sonic is a mindless robot (in other words, he covers up his own insecurity by insisting Nine would never replace him because they're best friends and because Nine couldn't become best friends with some soulless robot anyways). If he believed Alpha Grim Sonic had a soul and thoughts and feelings, he'd probably imagine the robot to be haughty (although I'm sure Chaos Sonic can feel Alpha Grim Sonic's feelings about him exerting more freedom in general and in his interactions with Nine than it). Over time, though (a lot like Clara and Asmodeus from M!IK), the two grow to understand each other. While I don't think either would ever admit the jealousy, they grow to understand each other and form a pact of sorts as other people start to enter Nine's life. They bond over their mutual protection of Nine from others, from their shared/similar experiences, and they grow to feel secure in the fact that the two of them will be constants in Nine's life.

Now, the second dynamic is very different. I have a hard time thinking over the first dynamic as a shippy one so much as I imagine it as a strong platonic bond (although it's not impossible for it to be romantic/queerplatonic/what have you), which is why I created a second sort of dynamic for them I can muse over for shipping purposes. This dynamic revolves around creating a situation in which the two are rivals.

So, I propose a brief concept. Nine revives Chaos Sonic post S2, who ends up getting lost in the void or something like that. Then, he creates Alpha Grim Sonic and the other Grim robots. At some later date, Chaos Sonic returns (perhaps claws his way out of the void?) and comes across Alpha Grim Sonic (who is either performing a mission for Nine or also looking for Nine for some reason) while looking for Nine. Chain of memories Sora and Repliku style, the two begin to fight about the fact that both consider themselves the robot in Nine's life and believe the other is lying about their assertions of their place as Nine's friend. Each starts out believing the other is an imposter meant to hurt Nine, and neither wants to believe that they could be replaced/be a replacement for the other. While this kind of dynamic can be coupled with the first, giving them this kind of dynamic to start out with I think gives them more of a reason to be specifically fixated over each other and to be rivals before they inevitably bond over Nine.

PhantomFox/Infinine

Why:

Well...why not? I don't have any particular profound reason for liking this one, I just seem to have an affinity for shipping versions of Tails with different characters and I think (with their aesthetics) they look really neat paired up together.

Although, all in all, I must confess that when I was thinking over rarepairs for the post, a friend of mine posed the idea of this ship and sold me on it in like 2 seconds

Dynamic:

The cool thing about having a ship where the characters haven't met is you can do whatever you want. Personally, I kind of like the partners dynamic with them.

To explain, I like to think about the au idea my friend came up with. Essentially, the idea is that Nine gets ahold of the Phantom Ruby somehow and, while studying it, ends up freeing Infinite. Of course, depending on the point in Nine's life, this situation could go differently, but in general I think of Infinite (a jackal I personally read as a bit aimless, without true passion) ending up following Nine, and Nine who (even if he rejects it a bit at first) ends up willingly taking Infinite on as his companion.

While Infinite/Tails to me is interesting because of Tails' trauma and the idea of why Infinite might fixate on Tails, Infinite/Nine is interesting to me simply because I think it would be neat if the two worked together as partners (and maybe Infinite finally found ambition along the way?)

Not sure how well I'm explaining this but yeah.

If it's pre-canon, I can see a lot of freak out from both of their ends, and if it's Infinite who proposes a partnership, Nine would probably need more confidence/assurances to agree to partner up with him. With that being said, I can see Nine being naturally interested in the science behind Infinite and the ruby, and the two sort of holding each other at arms length initially as they use each other to perform their goals.

If it's post canon, I can see Nine being a bit more open to companionship (I mean. He *is* pretty much alone in the Grim as far as we know), though he'd naturally be a bit guarded.

Either way, no matter what time in the timeline Infinite and the ruby are placed in, I can see these two getting into a situation somehow where they end up choosing to work together for some reason. My ideal dynamic with them is like. Two people who hold each other at arm's length but choose to work together initially due to mutual gain of some kind and initial interest in the other person –> morally grey partners who are a power couple

How about an aftermath to Nine finally being back in the Prime universe after all of his universe jumping? Maybe before Sonic rejects his offer in the Grim? Im curious on how his mental state would be after seeing to many other Tails's loved and cared for by a Sonic of their own. Having a HOME instead a simple safe place to hide from the world. Now that happiness and hope hangs on a simple 'yes'. How he would handle Sonic inevitably choosing to help others over his wants?

Nine has traveled many places and met a lot of people. He’s seen realities where he and Sonic could be friends, and even brothers. Even got himself included in a squad.

So his reaction to Sonic rejecting The Grim is… not good.

He backs up and turns away to hide his tears from Sonic as he chuckles to himself “heh.. I knew it was too good to be true. Why’d I allow myself to have hope..?” He hits his head against his hand many times muttering “stupid stupid stupid!” under his breath.

Sonic catches his hand “Nine, what..? What’s going on with you? I can see you’re upset. Is there something else going on?”

Nine rips his hand away from Sonic “I just spent the last forever in the multiverse. I met other me’s other you’s.. other versions of the people in my world. In every single one of those universes.. I was happy. I had friends, I had you. We were best friends.. like you said. Even brothers in some realities. In every reality, you came to save me. But of course, in my reality, I’m alone, forced to suffer for years and give up my childhood because some assholes can’t accept that people can be born different. I was constantly told on my travels that it’s ok to want other people around. And guess what? I do! I’m lonely as shit! And guess what else? YOURE GOING TO LEAVE ME! TO ROT BY MYSELF BECAUSE YOU ALREADY HAVE TAILS!”

“Nine?” Sonic is taken aback by his words.

Nine continues “you have friends and family. You have purpose. I was so.. so stupid to think you’d give all of that up. That world means nothing to me now. I don’t care if it blows up or ceases to exist, because everyone there has been nothing but awful to me. That Echidna and that bat won’t forgive me for leaving them for dead! I’m an enemy.”

“Nine, stop.” Sonic says more firmly “look, I.. don’t know what to say to.. most of that. But what I can say is this: you still have a chance to make things right. I’m not saying you should forgive anyone. I’m saying to help reform the world you do have. You’ve been a lot of places, so you must have some ideas. There’s other people in your world like you, I bet. Be their hope. You don’t need me to find happiness. And hey, maybe if I ever find my own world again, you can stick around for a bit if all else fails. You can hang out there instead of.. whatever this place is. It’s neat, don’t get me wrong, but it’s a bit.. barren, don’t you think?”

Nine takes in what Sonic said. He really doesn’t want to get his hopes up again. “I’ll.. think about it. And you better not be lying!”

Sonic smiles “I’m not! Though I will have to ask Tails once he is done being mad at me for not listening to him if he’s ok with it.”

“…ok. Thank you, Sonic. Now, go, help some more people. I need some time to myself.” Nine opens a portal. Sonic waves to him “see ya later, Nine!” “See ya.”

Sonic runs through the portal and is now on an island! Yay more people he has to earn the trust of!

"Wanna run up the walls?"

Nine wanted to rip his fur out. This hedgehog he met less than a day ago would be the death of him. "What? No! We need to get back inside now!"

The hedgehog continued as if he hadn't spoken. "Well, I'd run and you'd fly, but let's put some pedal to the metal!"

Sonic started to jog in place and do some stretches, but Nine had humored him enough. It wasn't safe out here and Sonic was sounding crazier by the minute. So he was probably from another dimension out of sync with their own? Big deal.

"Foxes may fly where you're from, but here, they stay inside and don't get caught by the Chaos Council!"

Sonic froze. He turned and looked at him, actually at him and not through him, not seeing someone else. His ears drooped. "Nine, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you upset."

Nine huffed and crossed his arms. "It's nothing new."

"But it shouldn't be," Sonic stressed, zooming up to him in an instant and looking like he wanted to come even closer. Nine took a step back, brining up his metallic tails to act as one extra barrier.

"Yeah. Right."

Sonic looked sadder still, but followed him inside without a fight.

Nine had just gotten back to his terminal when Sonic spoke up in that same quiet, gentle voice as before.

"Foxes do fly here though, right?"

Nine stared at his screen and tried to understand what Sonic was asking between the lines. Obliviously something to do with his doppelgänger. Sonic was probably just hoping for more similarities to see instead of seeing Nine.

"Sorry, I don't have an airplane." Nine said in a voice that didn't come out quite so sorry.

"Actually, I meant more like, can you yourself fly."

What a nonsensical question. He turned around to make sure Sonic looked as serious as he sounded. Huh. Their universes must be more different than he thought.

"No. They don't," he said. He shouldn't have felt bad when his answer looked like it would bring the hedgehog to tears. But this hedgehog had made him feel too much already, half-longing for a life that would never exist.

"Not even if they're really happy?" Sonic stressed.

Nine and Sonic stared at each other. Nine wished he understood the unspoken question, but he likely never would. Anyways, how would he even know? Happy? Life was hard and lonely, it was stupid to wish for anything more than being alive.

"No, not even then."

Amy Rose had been trying her best to find the love of her life for years! She just couldn't understand how the damn Imps were better at finding love than her!

She just couldn't understand how those two could be so happy! She had seen those Imps around the city, as well as in a commercial for their Company, and whenever she saw them, they always looked so happy together! Amy couldn't get it, how could those two somehow be so happy together? So, she created a plan, she'd agree to work at I.M.P. in order to get closer to the two, and then when she was alone with either of them, she'd question them about their relationship. It sounded perfect in her head, and totally not more work than what it's worth!

Getting into I.M.P. was the easiest part, Blitzo felt getting a non-Imp demon on their team might make people more willing to use their services. Plus, he was impressed with how well Amy knew how to use a hammer! The hard part was getting either Moxxie or Millie alone. Millie would be the easy part, just ask her to go out on a girl's day together, but Moxxie... She could probably figure that out later, right now, she just had to focus on the stuff she did know how to execute.

"You know Amy, it's really nice that ya' offered t' take me on this shoppin' trip!" Millie exclaimed, walking alongside the dark pink hedgehog with a smile. Amy simply smiled back, waving her hands dismissively.

"Oh, it's really no problem! Just don't buy too much though! I'm not exactly that wealthy..." Amy let out a nervous chuckle, thinking for a moment as she tried to phrase her next questions casually. "So... I've noticed you and that Moxxie fella get along pretty well! Are you two, dating or something?" She glanced down at Millie, who didn't seem at all bothered by this question.

"Oh, absolutely! We're married actually! I just couldn't be happier!" Amy nearly froze in her tracks, trying to hold back a bit of shock. Those two were only maybe a few years older than her, and they were already married?! Amy hadn't even gotten her first boyfriend yet! She couldn't help but feel jealous. "Amy dear? Are you ok?" Amy hadn't even realized the anger was written all over her face. She quickly shook her head and forced a smile back onto her face.

"Y-yeah, sorry, I just..." Amy was silent, trying to figure out what to say. "I guess I was just surprised, I'm 25 and haven't even gotten my first boyfriend, yet here you two are, only a few years older than me, and already living a happy life together!" Amy let out another laugh, Millie giggling slightly as well. She found the hedgehog's jealousy almost adorable.

"Awe, there's no need to be jealous! You're such a fine young lady, I'm sure you'll find someone soon!" Millie seemed so positive about the topic, trying to reassure Amy that she wouldn't be lonely for long. "Besides, who wouldn't want to date you? you're just the cutest darn thing!"

"I know right? I mean, I just don't get what I'm doing wrong! Like, what do you like about Moxxie so much that you wanted to marry him?" Amy was just genuinely curious about what was so great about Moxxie, but Millie must've thought Amy wanted to know so she could change herself to be 'more likable', as that's how Millie responded to it.

"Oh Amy, that's not important, I love him for being himself, and that means you have to find someone who loves you for being yourself." Amy wasn't sure what to say. This isn't how she expected this conversation to go. Millie's words did make her feel nice though, Millie was surprisingly nice for her profession.

"Thanks, Millie, you're pretty nicer, much nicer than I expected, no offense..." Amy let out a nervous chuckle, Millie waving her hand dismissively.

"Oh it's alright Sugar, I know how to be nice when I want t' be!" Sugar. That nickname made Amy's heart flutter, but she tried to push down the feeling of growing affection. She could deal with that later.

Later that same day, Amy ran into Moxxie alone, and after her conversation with Millie, she hadn't intended to actually confront him about anything, but she thought she might as well while she had the chance. "hey Moxxie, you got a minute?" Amy tried to sound nice, and tried to play this off casually, just like she did with Millie.

Moxxie raised an eyebrow, he had always been a bit cautious of Amy from the start. I mean, it's not every day you see someone like Amy willingly working with a bunch of Imps. "Uh, sure... What is it?" Amy fidgeted with her fingers slightly. "W-well... I hope this doesn't seem too personal, but, how are things going with you and Millie?" That didn't sound too odd to ask a coworker, but Moxxie still thought something was going on, Amy seemed just a bit too nervous.

"Things, are going, great, why do you ask?"

"Well, I've just been having, relationship problems lately, and... you two just seem to have it all figured out... I wanna know how you two can just, make it work..." Moxxie couldn't help but feel a twinge of sympathy. Finding love must've been so important to Amy.

"Oh, it really depends on who you're with. Some relationships take more work than others. Millie and I are practically perfect for each other, yeah, but that might not be the same for you." Moxxie tried not to sound too much like a downer, not wanting to upset the poor hedgehog. It didn't work too much, as Amy just sighed. Before she could even say anythign else though, Moxxie continued. "Listen Amy, you're perfect in your own way, and you need to find someone who thinks your perfect for them, and if you're lucky, they'll be just as perfect for you."

"You really think so? It's just that, I've tried too hard, and yet, all guys think I'm too annoying, or clingy..." Amy shrugged her shoulders, trying to laugh it off as she hugged herself.

"Well then clearly those guys weren't perfect for you. Besides, I don't think you're annoying at all, yeah you're a bit, weird, but I wouldn't say that's a bad thing!" Moxxie patted Amy on the shoulder, Amy letting out another sigh as she smiled and nodded.

"Thanks, Moxxie, I guess your right...." Amy's heart was racing again, the soft and sympathetic stare Moxxie was giving her felt so, loving. Not even her own parents had ever shown her such sympathy. "Well, I'll, see you around!" Amy felt in a much better mood than before, though she wasn't sure why.

Later that night, Amy tossed and turned in bed, Moxxie and Millie's kind words ringing out through her head like echos, the caring words, the way they made her feel like she could be loved, Amy hated to admit it, but... she was in love again, and this time it left her feeling even more hopeless cause the two were already married to each other.

Chapter One: A Shattered Sacrifice

(Author's POV)

Green Hills, a beautiful, lush and very comfortable place where nature is free and well. There were alot of flickies who call this place home, including the local anthros who live there, especially a super speedy blue hedgehog named Sonic. But during a battle against Dr.Eggman over an ancient gem known as The Paradox Prism, a lone black hedgehog with red stripes was watching the fight because he knew that something was wrong.

This was Shadow the Hedgehog, The Ultimate Lifeform, The Agent of G.U.N, Leader of Team Dark and Sonic's Rival…

(or so he thought, over the years, Shadow felt a connection between him and Sonic during their lives as rivals but he won't admit it because he's got to keep up with the emo attitude, although he would occasionally smile whenever he's around with his friends but let's continue with the story)

He watched as the battle was getting very heated, he was waiting for the right time to strike but when he saw that sonic was about to break the Prism, Shadow had no choice but to intervene.

He can hear their voices as they yell at Sonic to stop because he was about to hit him as he was blocking his way of the Prism and as they made contact, he was launched towards the crystal and….

BOOM!!

IT BROKE! THE PARADOX PRISM BROKE INTO SEVERAL PIECES!!

Everyone, Including Sonic were also launched as well, Shadow couldn't believe it..He was now the catalyst for the end of the universe..and he was supposed to protect it..Maria and Gerald would be disappointed in him for unwillingly ending the world all because one blue hedgehog was very stupid to try spindashing into the crystal.

Suddenly, everything and everyone got sucked into the crystals and things went dark, Shadow apparently was now floating through the vast void of this mysterious new dimensional plane..

He can faintly hear the voices of his supposed friends telling him of how he was the most powerful and important member of their group and how they care about him, there was also Maria telling him to promise to protect the earth and its population from danger…and lastly, he heard sonic saying that he was very happy that he had met him because he makes him feel so warm and amazed by him and he couldn’t ask more for a better rival who can keep up with him..

Shadow couldn't help but smiled at that..he thought that he was an outcast to everyone due to him being half of an alien species known as The Black Arms and how he almost destroyed the world for his birth species..but the fact that sonic still likes him means that he didn't care if he was made with the DNA of the creatures who tried to destroy the world..he was still him..he was Shadow..the Rival..the Agent..The Warrior…and The Hero..Then he heard Eggman's voice, declaring that the world shall be his to rule and conquer.

A few minutes later, he suddenly woke up in an new location, not knowing where he was, he can tell that he was in an city because of the buildings and alleyways.

"what the..?" He said to himself, as he walked to get a good look at his surroundings, now realizing that he was not in Green Hills anymore for this was a new world..a world ruled by EGGMAN.

Greatest Songs Ever - Part 19 (Infinite)

The theme this time around is “Infinite”. It doesn’t mean anything specific. It just seems like if something goes on long enough it eventually will have some ridiculous, unobtainable, adjective like Infinite, Forever, or Invincible attached to it. Usually it signifies it's the beginning of the end for artist or project (See Puff Daddy, Kid Rock, Michael Jackson, The Spice Girls, Mariah Carey, Backstreet Boys, Halo...the list goes on).  It’s a ridiculous notion, and I find leaning into it kinda funny. In short, it’s a joke for one. 

Whatever, let’s get started. I’m not afraid to say this list is as amazing as it is diverse.     

2019 “I Think I’m OKAY” - Machine Gun Kelly (feat. YUNGBLUD & Travis Barker)

That’s not a typo, Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) is officially on the list. I have no shame in choosing this song. “I Think I’m OKAY” is a painfully emotional song, that’s introspective, self destructive and it’s MGK’s first honest attempt to a rock music. Most of the emotional heavy lifting is done by the far-more-talented Yungblud, but the fact that MGK clearly doesn’t have the tools necessary to write or perform a track of this caliber and yet he does it anyway, is the most punk thing will he’ll probably ever pull off. The breakdown at the end where the instruments drop out and Yungblud is wailing over MKG “singing” creates an sonic tsunami rarely found outside of a My Chem song.     

2002 “Bright Lights” - Matchbox Twenty

Shocked I was, when I realized I had never included a Matchbox Twenty song on the list. I was then, bogged down by the decision of which one to include. M20 hold a precious place in my heart. They are infallible and have nearly 10 tracks worthy of inclusion. Their debut album, Yourself or Someone Like You, was a formative force of nature for me, but most of its tracks have a 90s residue on them that dissuaded me from putting them here. “Bright Lights” from their 3rd album, is arguably their most universally beloved song, with the least baggage. It starts quaint, and builds into a stadium-level anthem and perfectly encapsulates what M20 does best. It’s so straightforward it could be considered bland, but too well crafted for anyone to dare and actually call it that. Side note: It’s also one of my favorite Karaoke songs.    

1966 “Paint it Black” - The Rolling Stones

I don’t hate The Rolling Stones, but in a Stones vs. Beatles world, I very much fall on the side of The Beatles. Most of their most popular songs are SO popular they’ve lost all meaning. They make for amazing needle drops in film and in a lot of ways their library is a paragon of human creativity. Sadly, because of this, it’s hard to take them that seriously. The only exception I’ve found is “Paint it Black”. It doesn’t have the universal plug and play nature of a track like “Gimme Shelter” or “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” but it has a groove and haunt to it that routinely tricks me into forgetting it’s a Stones song. From the rolling bass line to the twangy sitar, “Paint it Black” still makes for a perfect needle drop, but unlike its brethren in the Stones’ catalogue, the tone and situation has to be perfect.  

2016 “Dancin’ On My Own” -  Calum Scott

This song hit me across the face this year. I heard the Calum Scott version of “Dancing’ on My Own” and knew I knew it from somewhere. I immediately dove into the internet and found the original Robyn song. It was the version I was initially familiar with. The original was a somewhat obnoxious British dance track that gets annoying rather quickly. Scott, who apparently performed a stripped down version of the song on his YouTube Channel and subsequently on Britain’s Got Talent, breathed a life into Robyn’s words I had never heard before. Instead of being a matter-of-fact “I’m supposed to be sad now” pop song, it morphed into an analog for every lonely encounter ever experienced. There’s a warm humanity to Scott’s delivery and passion. If you’ve ever felt invisible or left out or brokenhearted, Calum Scott’s “Dancing on My Own” is engineered to squeeze tears from your ducts.   

2020 “Physical” - Dua Lipa

Lipa is the highest quality pop princess we have right now an I don’t know if it’s even close. Don’t @ me Swifties, Taylor is her own category. I feel like Future Nostalgia will age like Fleetwood Mac’s Rumors, Carol King’s Tapestry or Madonna’s Like a Prayer. It was VERY hard to select a track off the album (other songs might actually make a later list), but for now, “Physical” is at bat. It’s aggressively sexy, oozes sleek production, and rides its bassline all the way to the bank. Being unapologetically “about sex” isn’t a new thing, but “Physical” carries itself like the a celebration of sex as an artform, or dance between partners. Lipa likely doesn’t know this, but with “Physical” she might have written sex’s national anthem.  

1971 “Danny’s Song” - Loggins & Messina

“Danny’s Song” sounds like a song written and performed by a dude who lives in a house on the side of a hill that he built with his own hands. And while that itself is a feat, it means nothing without a family to put in it. Not quite country, not quite rock, and pretty folky, “Danny’s Song” fits in that nebulous category of “Singer-songwriter” that shouldn’t count as a genre. To think this song was written by the same dude that wrote “Footloose” is 1000% bonkers. It makes my insides smile and I don’t know why, but it reminds me of childhood. I don’t, however,  remember either of my parents being into this type of music. Maybe an extended family member can explain it. *shrugs* 

1998 “Still Not a Player” -  Big Pun feat. Joe

An odd Mash-up years before they really hit the mainstream “Still Not a Player”, as silly as it is, was ahead of its time in a few ways. As a combination of Joe’s “Don’t Wanna Be A Player” and Big Pun’s “I’m Not a Player”, this track took two already established hits and made an arguably better song, that went on to become a 3rd and possibly bigger hit. Other artists found success with Mash-ups in the early 00′s, but in 1998 it was quite a novel idea. Also, Big Pun didn’t invent the idea of the feat., but this track helped establish the R&B Singer/Rapper collab that has dominated the last 20 years of pop-music. Rapper’s handing off the hook to an already popular singer is a short-cut to a hit song. We’ve seen Eminem, Jay-Z, Kanye, and even Nicki Minaj use it with great success. “Still Not a Player” by itself fits together nicely and paints a vivid picture of what late 90′s hip-hop was good at, getting you moving.  

1957 "Walkin’ After Midnight” - Patsy Cline

I don’t know too much about “Walkin’ After Midnight” but I know it feels like a song that was never meant to be recorded. In my mind, I hear “...and now, the lovely Patsy Cline” from the speakers of a honky-tonk, everytime I listen to the track. Cline then gracefully walks to the mic, performs the song to a crowd watching her sing like she was on Ed Sullivan. No frills, no crescendo, just a velvety voice, a walking bassline, a steel guitar and a timeless chorus. The song moves as fast as its listeners, and no one is in a hurry. 

1982 “Somebody’s Baby” - Jackson Browne

I would seriously like to know if Jackson Browne was ever considered “cool”. He’s wearing that leather jacket like he’s 1982′s The Fonz, but I’m just not buying it. “Somebody’s Baby” has old-man “Jessie’s Girl” vibes, but a quick Google search reveals that “Jessie’s Girl” is the old-man “Jessie’s Girl” of “Jessie’s Girl”-like tracks. I mean Rick Springfeild was 31 when it was released, THIRTY ONE! Note to self - add “Jessie’s Girl” to a future list. “Somebody’s Baby” also has “song playing between innings at a baseball game” energy. It has no business being this good, and no business being this fun. Why does the bass player go completely off script and throw in a couple funky slap-bass notes out of nowhere? I don’t understand this song at all, but ever since I chose it for this list, I can’t stop re-playing it. What have I done?   

2003 “Everytime” - Britney Spears

Likely not a popular choice in the Spears catalog, “Everytime” has an origin mired in tabloid relationship non-sense. I’m not trying to diminish someone’s heartbreak, but to have two artists openly writing about a failed relationship, and then both of the songs become huge hits is peak tabloid theater. Removing the context and looking at the song alone, Spears and Annet Artani crafted an understated introspective anthem of sorrow. The music box instrumentation is something unseen in pop music at the time, and best of all Spears’ vocal ... um ... deficiencies are hidden behind her breathy delivery. It’s an emotional song that can sneak up on you if you’re already in a vulnerable state. Spears’ musical legacy will likely go down as checkered, but “Everytime” stands as evidence that she belongs in the annals of music history.  

Next time around GSE turns 20, kinda. I’ve got something special planned, and it might take awhile to flesh it all out, or it might come together super quickly, who knows? It’ll have backstory, the promised playlist, 10 more tracks, and even some stats. I hope you come back to check out all the ridiculousness.

ok ok a few more ideas for sonic verse; it's prob only so difficult bc im overthinking it bUT THAT'S WHERE WE ARE, SO IMA TRY MY BEST

but basically i think i wanna deff pull more from monkey king's lore and give it to mk. not much, just along the lines of immortal being who had too much power and needed to be contained somehow - so that's where the circlet comes in! idk who forced it on him or any of that, but it definitely seals off his power a lot like shadow's inhibitor rings. the only difference being that mk himself can't take it off! someone else would have to and there's definitely a process to it. mk doesn't know it though - for obvious reasons. can definitely still be tightened around his head. i'm a menace, he is not free from the migraine bit! i don't think anyone knows how to do it though (but they can figure it out uwu) idk what he's really up to currently, probably just trying to get rid of the circlet - he's definitely learned his lesson, but probably wouldn't have full control over his abilities even now. he's still mega strong, even w the limitations. just not, destroy the entire universe strong. stayed away from most of civilization for a very long time, but now he's itching to get to know people and make some friends - he's been super lonely and he's sick of it :(((( give him friends, he needs them!

Heck with it, even if Impact lost round 1, I’m going to answer the rest of these questions because I can. Asking assured me that it’s fine to do so, and he can use the development.

Impact spends all of October telling people he’s “meh” about Halloween. He’s already a cowboy all of the time, anything he did do for a costume would be super simple, you know. Maybe he’ll just get a white hat and a mask and be the Lone Ranger, maybe he’ll try a bit harder and get dressed as Woody… he’ll keep saying he’s gonna aim low.

Then, on Halloween night, at the local celebrity Nile’s Halloween costume party at her pad/studio, Impact shows up dressed in the tailor-accurate outfit of his favorite space opera and/or Super Robot protagonist. Maybe a mobian Han Solo expy, maybe a mobian Amuro Ray expy, what matters is he’s got space-pilot drip from a show people didn't know he watched, and he’s fully embracing the character - he’s got all their most iconic lines and even their quirks memorized. He fully embraces the “pretend to be someone you’re not” aspect of Halloween, both for his civilian self and his “sheriff” self.

And yes, you know what, screw it, I’m making Impact a Star Wars and Gundam fan if those franchises exist in his given universe. He likes interrogation? Make his secret weapon loredumping. Heck, I'll give him space stuff as a special interest. He dreams of being a space cowboy. If Barry the Quokka can get to space in their lifetime, so can this yeehaw kid.

So yeah, Impact goes to costume parties and has a blast. Before the party starts, he may also monitor some trick-or-treaters around town and make sure they’re all safe (and compliment their costumes.) But DON’T try to get him to sit down for a spooky movie, they unleash his nyctophobia and make him break character 9 out of 10 times, and then get ready to have a shockwave punched through your TV. (Mark his words, he’ll ALWAYS make it up to you if this does happen. Sheriff��s honor. He swears.)

Into, Across and Beyond!: Shared Universe Mentions

So just yesterday, I got praise from @robovoidfrog for the inclusion of their character in IAB!, and I'm honestly chuffed to get this feedback! So through this post, I just wanted to talk about the prospect of the shared universe idea between this project, Funkinverse and the original Spider-Verse trilogy.

NOTE: None of the mentioned points are canon to either of the projects outside of IAB! unless stated otherwise.

So first off, as you saw through the aforementioned post, The X not only had a run-in with this project's Quill Society, but he also seems to be the most remotely aware of the nature of film fics based around Spider-Verse. A lot of these indeed kick off with that world's iconic hero dying and someone else having to take their mantle for them, which leads them into quite the whacky crossover situation.

In this continuity, some things are different for the Funkinverse storyline due to what goes on with the base FNF universe here. For instance:

Boyfriend died long before through the events of Mario's Madness, and a universal reboot is what gave way to Benjamin.

Though, like in canon, BF's WI and Twinsomnia incarnations are generation counterparts in the base FNF universe, they're also separate counterparts in Funkinverse (Twinsomnia's BF being Brooke's little son).

Softie/Benjamin Fairest's counterpart in Funkinverse is separate to the one who's linked to IAB!'s FNF universe.

As Benjamin had befriended several of the other BFs and GFs (those from B-Sides, D-Sides, Neo, Minus, B3 and Arrow Funk specifically), any of those that are linked to the Funkin' Society are quick to understand after Cam's hostilities that Salty's in the right for aiming to save his legal guardians from The X and quickly switch sides against Agent Blueballs' ideals for canon events.

The Sky counterpart encountered by the Funkin' Gang is a more hostile variant compared to ErrorSky, who changed her ways after enough time.

As mentioned above, The X was successfully detained and neutralised by the Quill Society post-Funkinverse, but the fact that it took FOUR of its members to detain him, compared to just two (Pana and SS!Amy) detaining Speedy in his Chaos Emerl guise, speaks volumes of how he is indeed a threat on par with The Spot and Crimtake.

As Beyond the Spider-Verse isn't out yet, we still don't know whether or not The Spot was successfully beaten.

Sunday ending up with protanopia after their encounter with The X didn't sail well with Carol, Benjamin OR Grace, hence why Benjamin calls him out on it. To think it was all because of a little disagreement about breakfast foods.

The Childhood Memories universe canonically NEVER encountered the Corruption (which is apparently a canon thing, according to Agent Blueballs), and even if it did show up, it'd never effect any of the children's shows. Yeah, get lost, Pibby kids.

In the IAB! continuity, Lexi Robin ended up defecting from the Funkin' Society after seeing just how wrong everything is, and she was rooting for the Funkin' Gang and Benjamin's crew from the sidelines.

After Cam's clash with Benjamin, Soft Pico and Neo GF (their original counterparts) sided with Benjamin in a bid to get their boyfriends back out of the Funkin' Society and back to doing the right thing in general.

Identically to Funkinverse, there's a lone repeat customer that the therapist of the bunch dislikes. For Funkinverse, it's the Boyfriend/Keith from Earth-666 (I Can't Sleep) who Softie dislikes, whereas in IAB!, CD Alt Ending Sonic's disliked repeat customer is Charlie (the Sonic from the god-awful "Sonic 2 Lost Prototype" fangame). That said, he does try to bear with the guy's emotional turmoil, though the other major therapist of the Quill Society, Sara, seems to have caught on as well.

In terms of the Gangs' members having possible canon interactions:

Miles, Salty and OMT!Tails would definitely help learn from each other on how to better protect their respective worlds, and also find solace in the fact that they were all treated as anomalies at different points.

Peter B., Brooke and CR!Sonic would be the doting dads after their first outings and talk quite a bit about their sons/daughters.

Gwen, SNS GF and OMT!Mina would be a sort of comfort group to each other, considering their rough pasts and how broken each one is deep down. Gwen, having been most successful thus far, would definitely be the beacon of light girl the other two clearly need.

Noir, Toon BF and Mini Sonic would interact quite a bit about the Rubik's Cubes that they were given as souvenirs, and their different reasons for admiring the cubes.

Spider-Ham, Mobian BF and Mr. Needlemouse are definitely the kind to goof around with their cartoon antics. That said, with the lattermost being the biggest prick, he is prone to being called out for it by the other two, though barely giving a care about it.

Peni, Aloe and EX!Alice are the tech geeks of their respective dimensions and would love sharing their robot-building (maintaining, in Aloe's case) knowledge with each other.

Hobie and the D-Sides versions of BF and Mighty would find common ground in their ideals of screwing over intended consistencies and going their own way in life.

Pavitr, Golden BF and Black Knight Amy would have a way with each other being the naïve newcomers of their respective teams, and BK!Amy, harbouring the most experience, can share some tips for her companions.

The Sonias and CR!Manik would be happy to look after Mayday and Twinsomnia BF, due to them both being toddlers. Them being children sporting superpowers makes it click more.

Margo, Boom, Nicole and Nine could bond from their computer-based knowledge, and the majority could also aim to lift Nine's spirits if he's feeling a bit down.

So that's pretty much the basic gist of things. Another few tidbits:

Of those instigating the canon events, between four candidates: - Melanie / MP (the kid pictured below), despite having tried this himself, didn't do it willingly, and was forced into it by so-called "superiors" who got the short end of the stick big time from Nitro, even after their passing made it look like they could get away with it. - Miguel and Agent Blueballs, despite their cruel methods, at least have good intentions in mind for their approach, but go about it the wrong ways that alienate those around them. - Lost Memory Sonic is the only one of these four to stoop lower than the others would've done, and actually tries DESTROYING universes to maintain the status quo.

Of the major protagonists between the three universes, OMT!Tails is the only one that's rarely had to use his nanomachine gear to disguise his identity with. That said, he has used it when he visited the dimension of the Hues of Metal (Dimension HoM-2023), and the suit's robotic sheen actually FOOLED the robots. At least, until LM!Sonic was driven away from their base (apparently for, as Rocket Metal put it, being a stereotypical Australian tourist).

In the above point's case, Metallix is the one to catch out OMT!Tails when they're alone, though is ultimately overpowered... from OMT!Tails mentioning that a certain web series isn't officially canon, causing Metallix to go poof from existence. Again.

Despite being a supposed "canon event", Sonic.EXEs are surprisingly quite rare to see in universes that aren't meant to have them, like with the Corruption, Darkness and Venom Symbiotes. That said, the first documented case of one showing up in a Sonic universe in the Quill Society logs is in the Sonic Robo Blast 2 dimension (Dimension SRB-1998), a universe that doesn't even have a canon appearance of the demonic entity.

After "Rivals' Madness" (my unofficial expansion/sequel to Mario's Madness/Vs. Sonic.exe (RERUN)), several of the worlds encountered are their own universes, so the characters within are not solely bound as digital slaves to Ultra M, Xenophanes OR 2011!X.

Related to the above, pretty much all the major cast of FNF ended up dealing with the mess of Ultra M and Xeno in that one adventure, most of which put up with one enemy each; Sophie from Left Behind for Tankman, Mr. L, X.nes and Requital for Pico (the lattermost he fights again later), Stranger for Skid and Pump, OMT for Mommy/Martha Mearest, Awe's Chromophobiac for Senpai, and NMI (No More Innocence) for Daddy/Daniel Dearest.

There are alternate versions of Heaven AND Hell in the IAB! multiverse that aren't solely bound by the Christian bible's depictions. For instance, there's a genuinely friendly community in my version of Hell, which an alternate version of Benjamin dubbed "Keith" discovers after his passing.

Akin to @thestrongestjewel's Eepytale, the Frisk, Chara and Asriel of the IAB! continuity have been living together for some time, albeit independently from adoptive parents like Toriel. Kris also spends some time with them as the biggest sibling of the group, akin to their role in @akanemnon's Twin Runes series.

Proto Man/Blues (alongside Wily, Bass and Treble) (Mega Man/Rock; these four lost their lives to a rogue Zero build who remains shut down to this day)
