If yall have noticed, I often mention âseasonsâ when describing the timeline of my AU.
âChoco?? What are these seasons you are talking about? Why are there only three when the show has five??â
Sit down, little one, and let me tell you a storyâŚ
AHDKWHSJ JK JK
But anyways-
I have split the events that happen in my AU into seasons because then itâs easier for me to keep my facts and timeline in order! All episodes are in exact order/sequence of events!
Season 1: Gabriel can create sentimonsters.
In this season, itâs establishing the world of Miraculous. Marinette and Adrien is learning how to be miraculous holders while navigating their own lives.
Origins: Marinette becomes Ladybug for the first time alongside Chat Noir to defeat Stormy Weather.
Ladybug and Chat Noir defeat an Akumatized Mylène, Animelle. Together, they visit Master Fu for more information on their new duties.
Marinette has a hard time balancing being Ladybug and her civilian self. Ladybug and Chat Noir have to team up to defeat a game-themed teenage akuma.
Sweetpea: Marinette enters a design challenge with Alix, and Adrien is her model! Rose is akumatized into Sweetpea after a health scare makes her unable to help her team with their design.
To Be or Not to Be: There is a school play, and Chloe will stop at nothing to get the main lead. Ladybug struggles to win over Chat Noir, who seems oblivious to her attempts at flirting.
Boy meets Girl: Marinette develops a crush on the classâs most popular boy after defending Juleka against Chloe. LB and CN battle Reflekta.
Princess Justice: Marinette is chosen to submit a dress design to high-fashion company represented by Chloeâs mother. Jealous of her success, Chloe destroys her project, causing Marinette to be Akumatized.
Fish Food: Ladybug and Chat Noir have to defeat an akuma who goes by the name of Captain Kraken. For the Winter Ball, Marinette makes plans to ask Luka to be her date.
Winter Formal: The winter formal is here, but Marinette is worried about an akuma attack that might ruin her chances with Luka.
Be My Lover: Now that Marinette is officially dating Luka, Adrienâs jealousy becomes more apparent. Chloeâs repetitive and harsh rejections of Kim turns him into Dark Cupid.
Road Rage: Adrien has a fight with Chloe about her behavior towards others, and she acts out once again and Nino is akumatized into a foul-mouthed biker with a vendetta against her.
New Girl: A transfer student is introduced to the class, but Marinette is suspicious of her two-faced behavior.
Prophetica: Marinetteâs constant lying and lack of trust makes her and Alya have a fight after she fails to bring cupcakes to her sistersâ birthday party.
Primadonna: After Chloeâs mother decides to take her half-sister to her movie premiere debut instead of her last-minute, Chloe becomes Primadonna and turns Paris into her own personal black-and-white film.
Sabrina seeks Marinetteâs help to expose Lila after she comes between Sabrina and Chloeâs friendship.
King of Music: Jagged Stone is akumatized and it is revealed that Luka and Juleka are his children. Marinetteâs duties as Ladybug become more demanding and her relationship with Luka strains.
Winter Wonderland: After Chloe misses one of Sabrinaâs recitals, she is Akumatized into Ice Queen and turns Paris into an eternal winter.
Marinette misses one of Lukaâs concerts, where he was going to debut a song he wrote for her. They break up and he is Akumatized into Heartrocker.
Liar, Liar: Marinette finally tells the class who Lila really is, but they have a hard time believing her. Lila is Akumatized into Miss Miracle and offers her services to Hawkmoth in order to take down Ladybug.
Lila strikes a deal with Gabriel when Adrien invites her over to his home out of pity. Hawkmothâs identity and motives are revealed. Chat Noir takes Ladybug to see Master Fu for help because of Plaggâs warning against Lila.
A New Guardian: Master Fu makes Ladybug the new Guardian before Lila can get to the Miracle Box.
Goldbug: The peacock miraculous is fixed. Hawkmoth unifies the miraculous to become Shadowmoth. He creates Miss Miracleâs first sentimonster: Goldbug. Marinette becomes Firefly to defeat them both.
The time span for this season is about 4 months, starting in the beginning of Junior year.
Season 2: Emelie wakes up.
This season focuses on the lore of the miraculous. Ladybug unifies miraculous every other episode to defeat both akumas and sentimonsters. Lots of kwami-swaps and unified ladybug happen in this season! (Scarabella, Queen Bee, Carapace, Ladybee, etc.) Marinette is also warming up to Adrien.
Chat Noir is skeptical sheâs the right pick to be guardian, and she takes that personally. She decides to unify against Reflekta and her sentimonster, Reflekdoll.
Mr. Midas: After rejecting an expensive present, Chloeâs father is Akumatized into Mr. Midas and wants to turn everything into gold for his beloved daughter. Tigerbug and Chat Noir try and defeat him and his sentimonster.
Sweet Dreams: Ladybug becomes Hercula after a sleepy akuma discreetly puts Paris into an eternal slumber.
A Spiderâs Web: Ladybug becomes Mantigirl to defeat Arachnia, a kindergarten teacher who is Akumatized at the Paris Zoo and trapped Adrien and others.
Marinette comes down with a mysterious illness, and so itâs up to Scarabella and Chat Noir to save Paris from an Akumatized grandmother and her gang of angry sentidogs!
The Wailing Lady: Firefly and CN battle against a grieving widow and her sentimonster, a giant willow tree in the middle of Paris who she believes is her deceased spouse.
Sugar and Spice: Marinette faints while working at the bakery. This makes Sabine anxious, and she is Akumatized into Mother Desserts. Marinette and Chat Noir work together to save her.
Tikki suggests giving others different miraculous to help her fight the akumas and sentimonsters. Adrien tells Chloe about his crush on Marinette thanks to Plagg. Chat Noir visits Marinette and takes her on a trip around Paris.
Operation Ladybug: Luka suspects Marinette is Ladybug, and he recruits Alya to help him figure out the truth. Chloe starts treating Marinette with less disdain, much to everyoneâs surprise. Firefly and Chat Noir fight another akuma and sentimonster.
Bon AppĂŠtit!: Alyaâs mother becomes akumatized while working at the hotel. Ladybug and Alya work together while Chat Noir tries to keep Chloe and Sabrina. Alyaâs suspicions are confirmed, but she tells Luka to stop digging.
Kwami Captor: After some mischevious kwami escape the miracle box with their jewels, Marinette becomes Multimouse to hunt them all down.
Queen Bee: Chloe decides to use the Bee miraculous she found to try and help Mantigirl and Chat Noir. Her need for attention makes the mission not go according to plan. Chat Noir and Marinette have an argument about his secret identity.
Protector of All: Nino and Adrien are in charge of elitist children for a day while Marinette and the class set up a school sponsor event. When an akuma attacks, itâs up to Nino to protect the kids while Tigerbug and Chat Noir defends them. Luka finally gives up his suspicions.
Miracle Team: The Miracle Team meet up for the first time to take down an akuma. But they struggle to actually work together! Chat Noir breaks up with Marinette, leaving them both devastated.
Soulmates: Marinette and Adrien spend the day together to find a gift for Chloeâs birthday. Nathalie finds out about Gabriel and Lilaâs dark deeds with Hawkmoth.
Happy Birthday Chloe!: Chloeâs birthday party goes awry, thanks to Lilaâs sabotage, and Chloe is Akumatized.
Sick Day: Marinette is too sick to go to school most days and struggles with night terrors. She is worried about her health, and talks to Tikki about it. Alya, Nino, Luka, and Sabrina try to clear Marinetteâs name. Adrien visits Marinette at the bakery.
Marinette vs The World: Marinetteâs friends finally has what they need to prove Lila is terrible once and for all. But Adrien isnât sure itâs the best idea.
Cheer up, Marinette: After unifying once again to defeat an akuma, Marinetteâs condition is so bad she is bedridden and cannot celebrate Chinese New Year with her family. The kwamis try to cheer her up. Adrien is growing worried about his fatherâs health and seeks comfort in Nathalie.
Like Mother, Like Daughter: Chloeâs influencer half-sister, Zoe, comes to Paris. Chloe humiliates her out of hurt and anger, and Zoe is Akumatized into Delightfulee.
Reign of Bourgeois: Chloeâs mother arrives in Paris after hearing about her outburst against Zoe. She is then promptly akumatized into Stylix and takes over the city. Whatâs worse, she has put a bounty on Chloeâs head.
A Sunny Day: The Miracle Team accepts Vesperia as the new Bee miraculous holder. Her outgoing positivity is welcomed, but her hesitation puts them in danger.
Never Trust a Fox: Trixx abandons Alya and runs away with the fox miraculous, pledging his loyalty to Lila instead. Volpina tricks LB and Chat Noir into thinking sheâs on their side. Ladybug has to unify once again in order to defeat her and the akuma once she betrays them.
The Wish, Pt. 1: Because Marinette is out of commission, Scarabella, Vesperia, Carapace, and Chat Noir have to fight against Volpina, The Wailing Lady, and her sentimonster.
The Wish, Pt 2: Gabriel now has the Ladybug and Cat miraculous. Marinette and Adrien follow Volpina to the Agreste mansion, and Adrien learns the hard truth about his father.
By the end of the season, Shadowmoth has completed his mission and trades his life for Emelieâs. A part of Lilaâs backstory is revealed.
This season ends at the end of Junior year, breaching into summer.
Season 3: Marinetteâs Sacrifice
This is the final season of my AU!
Summer Break: Adrienâs doppelgänger cousin Felix attends the school after visiting with his aunt and uncle over the summer to help Emelie readjust. Lila now has a new name, Cerise Blanc, a woman sent by The Order. Emelie decides to give Cerise the butterfly and peacock miraculous in exchange for her having The Order keep an eye on Adrien. Cerise unifies the Peacock and Butterfly miraculous to become The Empress.
Return of the Butterfly: Rose is akumatized into Sweetpea once again after receiving devastating news about her condition. The Miracle Team return to take it down.
The Emperorâs Daughter: Adrienâs mother surprises him with his fiancĂŠ, Kagami, who he hasnât seen in years. Her social class proves difficult for her to make friends.
Paper Flowers: Because of his shy nature, Felix makes an origami flower with a romantic poem written inside of it for Kagami. However, Kagami believes it was Adrien and becomes determined to make their relationship work.
Felix becomes depressed over Adrien and Kagamiâs relationship while going out with them for the upcoming winter formal. Emelie grows jealous of how close Nathalie is with Adrien and sends her on a business trip abroad.
Boysâ Night: Emelieâs hovering nature makes Nino worried for Adrien. He starts to encourage Adrien to rebel a bit, but Nino didnât expect Adrien to become so out of control when heâs off a leash. Meanwhile, the girls on the Miracle Team are having a sleepover to buy exclusive Jagged Stone tickets.
The Star: Adrien is akumatized into The Star after Emelie tells him she will unenroll him from school and return to homeschooling because of his recent behavior. She also fires Nathalie.
Tales of Scarabella and Kitty Noire: Adrien is under house arrest and Marinetteâs sickness is coming back, so Scarabella and Kitty Noire have to keep Paris safe!
Hanabira: Kagami witnesses Adrien and Marinette together while waiting for their date at the Louvre, and is Akumatized and takes over the museum.
The Masked Lady and Me: When Cerise catches Felix looking for the peacock miraculous, Cerise later introduces herself as Madame Morphosis and makes a deal with him to avoid unification sickness. Felixâs backstory is revealed.
Our Frozen Hearts: Felix and Marinette find an unexpected common ground when they are forced to watch Adrien and Kagami dance together as Winter King and Queen.
Sentimaggedon: Madame Morphosis tests Felix to see whether or not she should let him keep the peacock miraculous she gave to him. In a desperate attempt to prove himself, Felix as Argos creates multiple sentimonsters that accidentally bring about the apocalypse. Itâs up to the Miracle Team, with Dragonbug, to save the city.
Cat and Mouse: Marinette uses the Mouse miraculous once again to be undercover while dealing with akuma-related disappearances. But Chat Noir wonât take any chances and hunts her down to bring her miraculous to Ladybug.
The End of Us: Kagami breaks off the engagement with Adrien. Adrien then asks out Marinette, who delightfully says yes.
Motherbird: Emelie willingly becomes Akumatized by Madame Morphosis in order to keep her son Adrien under her watchful eye.
Sing a Little Song: Clara Nightingale, an American popstar and a close friend to Zoe, comes to Paris to shoot a music video. But her overbearing manager and strict schedule causes her to become akumatized into Frightingale.
Birds of Prey: While hanging out with Marinette, Kagami is kidnapped by Argos. The Miracle Team have to defeat Argosâs sentimonsters in order to rescue her.
Frenemies: Adrien is trying to get Chloe to warm up more to the idea of Marinette and him being together. Marinette helps Felix overcome his fears and talk to Kagami.
Bonded by Our Sins: After getting closer to Kagami, Felix tries to back away from Madame Morphosisâs control. However, she scares him into submission by threatening to hurt Kagami.
Who is Lila Rossi?: Argos is sent by Madame Morphosis to take Marinetteâs miracle box after being informed by Trixx. But him and Marinette devise a plan to trick her.
True Love: Felix confesses his feelings to Kagami at the fashion show and shares his secret with her. Volpina hunts Marinetteâs classmates one by one for the scattered miraculous, using extreme measures to get what she wants.
Letâs Do This, Together: The miracle team, along with Argos, has to defend Paris against Lila, who has unified most of the miraculous and become a magical hybrid monster.
Always and Forever: Ladybug and Chat Noir decide to take one last stand against Lila.
Happily Ever After: Marion, a 12 year old girl, discovers small magical creatures who live in her favorite music box!
Quick explanation for episodes 22-24:
Lila collects and unifies most of the miraculous, becoming a monster-animal hybrid and losing herself and all sense of rational. Marinette exposes her identity to all of Paris because of her, and Marinette is aware in a few hours everyone sheâs ever known will forget her. Chat Noir reveals himself as Adrien to her before she takes his and the Ladybug miraculous, and unifies them to become Gimmi Marinette and destroy her for good!
Marinette feels Senti-Queenâs mixed emotions of betrayal and hate and loneliness, and her kindness shines through. She uses the Lucky Charm to rebirth Ah Lam as a child, giving her the opportunity to live a normal and love-filled life, the one she never had.
The time span is towards the end of Senior Year, when they were suppose to graduate.
AFTERMATH
So Marinette no longer exists, no one remembers her, and thereâs a child version of Lila now.
Now what??
Child Lila is adopted by Marinetteâs parents, who have always wanted to have a child. They rename her Marion. It means âwished for childâ :,) But also âsea of sorrowsâ, symbolizing Lilaâs life and the pain she caused!
After reading Marinetteâs diary, the city knows she was Ladybug. They create a new park called âLadybug Parkâ in memory of Marinette.
The Order of the Guardians come to reclaim the jewels unified by Lila, but the kwami refuse to be captured again and flee with their jewels. They all go back to the miracle box for safety. Marion finds the miracle box in Marinetteâs old room, and unknowingly becomes the next Guardian.
Adrien only remembers Ladybug, and believes she was the one to unify the miraculous. He has no real recollection of Marinette, but subconsciously feels the loss.
Congrats for making it to the end heheh!
Have some cake! đ°
Eat it under this rainbow for a break! You deserve it!
đ
âBUT CHOCO!!â
âYou still havenât explained why there are only three seasons!â
Oh yeah! Sorry!
Itâs because I feel like it took 5 seasons in canon to explain what happened in 3. I imagine my AU to be a Disney-owned show that was about to cancelled.
How can I sum up the plot of Miraculous Ladybug in 3 seasons, 12-15 episodes each?
LMAOSJW-
But yup! Thatâs it! Hope you had fun reading!!
#chocoau lore#building my master post!!#SOMEONE MENTIONED THE NAME GOLDBUG FOR LILAS UNIFIED FORM AND I LIKED IT SO THANK YOU WHOEVER YOU WERE#I have been putting off posting this for a month bc I was nervous on what yâall would think about it#but I get so many asks about the lore esp with the art I post#so Iâve decided to do it!! yâall deserve to know whatâs going on here!!#I also didnât include âfillerâ episodes in this#so it SEEMS like lots of things happen very quickly but there are little adventures spread out in between!#miraculous ladybug#mlb au#miraculous au

Protective Rose
Rose was loving.
It was part of her nature. "I would think the world would end if you ever stopped loving," Juleka had said once, soft and gentle. Rose knew that if one of her friends asked, she would try her best to snuff out the sun or rearrange the stars. It was silly and ridiculous, but Rose loved.
She loved Juleka. She loved her friends.
That was why she didn't say anything when Alya brought Adrien to the modeling shoot. She loved Adrien and Marinette, and both of them deserved good things. Would it be bad if that good thing was each other?
Then she had looked at Marinette's face.
Marinette couldn't hide the stress the moment Adrien appeared. Rose wasn't sure when it started, but at that moment, the time limit was being presented, and she had a feeling that she was looking at ancient stress. Stress that couldn't be easily scraped away.
The modeling shoot was fun, but Alya's behavior wasn't. Even though this shoot had been for Juleka to start modeling, Alya shoved Marinette in front of the camera. Even as she plastered on a smile, the stress never faded from her eyes.
Rose had looked at the others behind Alya's back. Mylene looked uncertain, Alix had looked so annoyed that she was honestly surprised she didn't throw something, and Juleka was gone. The next few minutes, the akuma and sentimonster had appeared and Rose was left to scramble.
Thankfully, Lady Noire and Mister Bug had saved Juleka. Rose had figured things would be better now. Marinette apologized for Juleka for ruining her first modeling shoot, even though it wasn't really her fault. Rose waited for Alya to apologize too.
And waited. And waited. And waited.
Alya never apologized. As Rose waited, she started to think.
Alya was the catalyst for Marinette to start reaching out again. The rest of the class tried their best to avoid Chloe's attention, meaning she had retreated into herself. Before Alya came, Rose could count the times that all the girls had hung out together on one hand. She had Alya to thank.
But...Alya never really let them talk. Not unless it was about getting Marinette and Adrien together. To be fair, Rose liked the idea of Marinette and Adrien getting together. They were so sweet, with sunshine pouring from them, and Rose knew they would be happy together. But, no matter what the conversation started as Alya would divert it back to Adrien.
They tried to talk about more than Adrien. Marinette tried the hardest of all. Alya didn't seem to care.
And Rose wondered if Alya's help was really just a deal with the devil.
She didn't notice the black butterfly settling onto the bracelet Marinette had made her, which matched Juleka's mirror. She did notice the familiar sensation of a hand reaching into her mind, prying it open.
"Roseheart, I am Shadowmoth..."
-_-
"CESAIRE!"
"What did you do to make her angry?"
"I have no idea!" Alya admitted, her voice nearly lost in the rush of wind. Ladybug held her tight, yoyoing from building to building, all trying to outpace the latest akuma.
Roseheart looked like a living rose, with green clothes leading into petal pink curls. Rose's usually friendly blue eyes were clouded with yellow, matching the roses blossoming on her vines and the roses her minions gave people. The person would be entranced with one smell of the flower, accepting more flowers to hand out. That, at least, meant that only Roseheart was actually chasing Alya.
"Are you sure?" Ladybug landed on a roof, yanking Alya out of sight. "I'm not saying I don't believe you, but your friend Rose seems willing to bottle things up. Can you think of anything?"
Alya scrunched her face up in thought, trying to think. "Ugh, no," she finally said. "Last time I saw Rose, she was happy. The girls in our class were planning a sleepover to make a plan to help my best friend confess to her crush."
Okay, so Alya was willing to talk about Adrien to Ladybug. Good to know.
"AAAAAAALLLLLYYYAAAA!" Roseheart's screech interrupted her thoughts. "COME OUT! YOU NEED TO APOLOGIZE!"
"For what?!" Alya's screech was just a touch too loud. In the next second, Ladybug found herself knocked off her feet as the chimney exploded, revealing Roseheart. The heroine landed on her feet on the other end of the roof, looking in time to see Alya scooting away from Rose. "Whatever I did, Rose, I am so sorry, okay? But I need to know what I did wrong before I do!"
Roseheart's already furious expression darkened further. "You don't know what you did?" she growled. Alya, realizing that her words might've not been the best, shook her head slowly. The akuma raised her hand above her head. Vines started to collect and grow, creating a makeshift club. "You hurt Juleka, you put Adrien above us, and you don't know what you did?"
Hurt Juleka? Put Adrien above?
Was she talking about when Juleka got akumatized during that first modeling session? That had been months ago, to the point that Ladybug had almost forgotten that it happened. Based on Alya's blank stare, so did she.
"Marinette apologized," Roseheart growled out, lifting the club higher. "But it wasn't her fault. It was yours. You were the one to push Juleka out, even though that modeling session was for her. And..." Bigger. "...you..." Bigger. "...never..." Big.
Ladybug yanked out her yo-yo.
"APOLOGIZED!"
Before the club could slam into Alya, her yo-yo wrapped around her best friend's waist and yanked her back. As Roseheart struggled to lift up her club, she scooped up Alya and made a run for it.
"I guess that explains that!"
"...yeah..."
If she looked down, she would've seen Alya's eyes widen, thinking. Right now, however, her focus was on running.

are there sentimonster emilie fics?
(there's 2k emilie fics and I'm going through the tag, feel free to send any my way if there are!)
assuming we go with the public lie of she disappeared rather than died.
gabriel and nathalie taking their grief and anger and whatever unnamed attractions and feelings they had toward each other to make emilie again. not their child, obviously, but the amalgamation of the love they both had for her.
(though, one can't deny the themes of it.)
they're reluctant at first--for gabriel, controlling a sentimonster has brief satisfaction. most times, he knows through correcting adrien's behavior, it's more hassle than it's worth. the steps of it: argue, give them a chance to correct themselves, control. sometimes, it's straight to step 3. for nathalie, it's a host of issues: confronting her feelings towards adrien being real vs. not real; would she control emilie, too, given the chance?; will she---no, could she, this copy, ever measure up?
is it the best for adrien to have her back?
reluctance gives way to what-ifs and memories. gives way to possibilities and what they remember about her. the things they loved, and the things they hated.
could they.... would they change those things?
(how does one exist in other perceptions? what do other people see in you, and what do they exaggerate due to their own intolerances? what is strikingly real and true? what is so foreign, like a copy of a copy of a copy, reduced to grainy degradation?)
so, both their hands clasped around the peacock miraculous (not without both of them separately thinking of another event that created life), they remake emilie.
#asukies ramble#it takes tries and tries and TRIES#I have this one idea where the programming has failed multiple times and they have to do it again#but this time without nathalie knowing#gabriel reinvents her to be like. 18#idk depends on how shocking you wanna make it but gabriel tells adrien that emilie had to leave for a work trip#and he's hired a new intern#and nathalie hates every second of this and is casually cruel and callous to this young copy#is snapping her a mercy or justified?#anyway.#sentiemilie au

The Maribat deconstruction got me thinking: am I the only one who thinks Adribat is a more....plausible (??is that the word) concept than Maribat? Like, not even in a romantic sense but a familial platonic sense.
Think about it, he's :
got the tragic backstory & suffered from neglect
canonically been abused waaaaay beyond school bullies
taken for granted by adults (primarily his dad & Master Fu) and by his peers (LB)
dealing with the existential crisis of not being human if we go the sentimonster route.
Look, I get that trauma & suffering should NEVER be a competition but when you think abt it, Adrien's suffered just as much, if not more so than Mari ever did even with Chloe & Lila in the picture. You could argue that some of what she suffers in salt fics (isolation, no support system, emotional suppression, harassment) are ALSO things Adrien goes through bcz while he's a superhero like her, UNlike her, his home life sucks.
So if there's either hero the Bat Fam would empathize with more, it's him. Yes, they can hold him accountable for screw ups but if we go the Good Parent!Bruce route, he can give Adrien the physical & nuanced emotional training he needs to spot red flags & deal with them beyond passivity. The training is harsh but at least he doesn't play favourites, giving Adrien no excuse to slack off & proper motivation to mature. Plus, in the Bat Fam, everyone has clear roles & secrets aside, nobody strings anyone along, offering him a reliable structure to fall back on.
He doesn't come into the Bat Fam expecting to be in charge. Instead, the nitty-grittiness would push him to be more independent & decisive instead of impulsive.
If LB tries to call him out, he could point out how for all she claims to be the 'responsible professional hero', she REacted instead of acted & if real IDs are thrown in the mix, he can call out how she just went with the 'woe is me' route, resenting that everyone didn't jump on her call for a witch hunt when she could've communicated to them privately.
Sorry, this turned out longer & less explicitly mari salt-centric than I thought but I tried to stay objective. I hope you don't mind.
Technically everyone would have their own opinion about whether a Miraculous/Batman crossover could actually work. In my opinion however, I believe that the best bet for a good crossover would be through Adrien more than Marinette, in part because of the reasoning you gave, but also because Adrien would fit the idea of a Batfamily member more thematically than Ladybug ever could. If anything, he's like Catwoman but without the whole stealing bit.
Keep in mind that the whole Maribat AU was created with the goal of creating a salt fic (albiet with a crossover), and the OG creator even took a character that was no way romantical and turned him OOC to make their convoluted idea work, ironically in a method reminding me of the "My Immortal" Harry Potter fanfic. Regardless how it later developed, the original idea was pure salt, albiet one that took off because of everyone's hate boner for any character that wasn't Marinette, with people later trying to justify it for one reason or another. It's an idea that should have never worked in the first place outside of this context. In contrast though, Adribat would actually work because of a genuine commonality connection.
Also I don't mind talking about Adrien on this blog. In my mind, Marinette salt and Adrien sugar are the one and the same on this blog, because the salt of one character is usally sugar of the other due to how these prompts go.
Hell, my entire blog was made in opposition to the more well know Adrien Salt Blog made by another individual, which has both plenty of Adrien salt and LOTS of Marinette sugar, though I would call the latter justification for Marinette's own bad behavior as it never discusses her own issues, it just let's her go off scott free by pinning the blame all on Adrien.
In any case, I like your idea! If you or anyone else want's to share any Adribat prompts that you got, feel free to send them here!

the movie aint better ya goofs (don't read if you don't wanna hear my slander lol,,,)
"Movie!Gabriel is better than show!Gabriel because he actually cares for his son and gets redeemed"
istg this fandom's obsession with redemption needs to END
Morally better character â better writing
Can I just get a piece of media that tells kids "hey, ur abusive parent was an asshole, and even if they had humanity you do not need to reconcile and forgive them in the end" bc I feel like that's what show!Gabriel leans towards which is great
Gabriel barely talks to Adrien in the movie and suddenly when he sees him under CN's mask his entire reign of terror, his determination to see his dead wife again ends in a tearful hug lmao come on now
("but the ending where Adrien suddenly loves his dad again???"- Astruc has been pretty blunt on Twitter that this perfect society you see in S5's ending is built off of a lie, so Adrien is def not gonna just keep that view)
"Adrien actually stands up to his dad in the movie!"
Movie!Adrien is legit a normal human boy, not a sentimonster who is literally physically incapable of fighting back against whoever has his amok
He DOES fight back (even in S1 as CN!), but people like to remember the show only up to S3. Guess what, he learns to fight back and stand up for himself through his growing bonds and relationships with those around him through character development â¨â¨â¨
Also, he is an abused kid??? In the show?? How can you knock him down a peg for not fighting back,,, đ Adrien's lesson isn't that he needs to learn how to fight back, it's that Nathalie shoulda called cps sooner!!! In the movie they are much more of an estranged father-son pair than anything abusive. So obviously the back talk is much easier too. Movie!Adrien gets to go out alone and with friends unless his dad has specifically planted an enemy where he is. Show!Adrien has been beaten, mind controlled, forced to hurt Marinette, isolated and locked up, etc.- he has been TERRIFIED of his dad multiple times.
"Marinette isn't an obsessive stalker in this!"
SIGH.
Man I am so sick of this complaint- the show has never rewarded Marinette for her obsessive behavior. BC IT IS A CHARACTER FLAW. One they use for cringe comedic purposes, but a flaw nonetheless. Every time she has done anything that hurts others in pursuit of Adrien she is punished by the writers. And bc the show has an episodic monster-of-the-week format, this plot is recycled a lot (which is its own complaint). And guess what? SHE STOPS BEING OBSESSIVE. YEAH. SHE STOPS DOING THAT SHIT- so what do you want now??? She grew out of it after it costs her the miraculous so why tf are yalls still hurling this at her like its a L,,,,
This Marinette is just a watered down boring version of show!Marinette. She's just a girl who gets insecure at times but grows confident bc she's Ladybug. Ok. So is our Marinette but MORE. Our Marinette is super smart, creative, resourceful, an overthinker, extremely kind and selfless to others, gets jealous and reckless when her emotions get the better of her, etc. She is fully formed even after watching just 3 episodes of S1.
Like the fact that they didn't even bother to include the oh so important hook of the show- her lucky charm power- shows they didn't care about doing this story justice- its so transparently lazy writing đ (miraculous of creation where??? CN gets cataclysm for destruction but what is movie!LB bringing to the yin yang table,,,)
Legitimately all the comparisons I'm hearing from people saying the movie is better are from those who just aren't caught up with the show where Marinette is no longer toxically obsessive with Adrien, where the plot/lore is insane but 10000000x better and more creative than what the movie gave us, the love square was much better developed EVEN FROM JUST THE ORIGINS EPISODES, etc. Istg these people stopped at S3 where the show was at its worst (if I were to pinpoint it)
Everything is so watered down or changed for the worse
Adrienette bonding was 1 conversation and 2 seconds about his mom in a voiceless montage. Marinette didn't fall for him bc of his kindness after a misunderstanding, it was bc he looked handsome in the library's light lol. He called her weird and didn't think twice about putting on his earphones to listen to more alpha podcasts. You really do wonder why she likes this dude over her partner CN bc they have no connection at all.
Movie!Adrien was an asshole don't you dare do show!Adrien dirty by comparing him to this ellen degeneres alien lookin mf
When movie!Adrien is crying after Mari reveals herself as LB, unlike the show, here you're like "yeah no you only like her now bc she's LB lol"
Anyways feel free to enjoy what you enjoy but uuuuuhhhh this movie getting a 3/10 for me would not rewatch
Oh wait the good things

I just saw a video of children pshycologist where she said "a lot of parents nowadays only want their kids to be happy, and that's why a lot of kids nowadays has a lot of problem. because they never taught what necessary for them, such as disappointment, responsibility, accountability, how to regulate their emotion, emphaty-" and some more I don't remember, sorry. And Marinette's parents does reflect this IRL problem which should be a good thing because we have seen what kind of child Marinette is as a result of such parenting. but, instead of make this a moral lesson, the show just validated this kind of parenting and Marinette behavior as "good".
But also it's interesting how I never see the so claimed child pshycologist who said "sentimonster is good methapor for abuse" commenting about Marinette problematic behavior, or maybe because I'm no longer followed the blog, idk.
---
To discuss the connection between Marinetteâs problematic behavior and how sheâs been raised, people would need to accept her accountability for said behavior first. Instead the closest to accepting that Marinette did anything wrong Iâve seen from the stans is the take that âGabriel manipulated her into itâ because being manipulated would make Marinette a victim and therefore not culpable for her own actions in their eyes. To the average Marinette stan, âbeing asked nicely by the main villainâ just about equates to âwas forced to do it with a gun held to her headâ.
Also, like, I really do think that the Miraculous fandom at large either considers Marinetteâs parents as close to perfect as you can get or claims they're neglectful for not suing the school for suspending her. Because, as I said before, the idea of parents who never expect anything from you, always give you whatever you want and instantly do whatever it takes to keep you in a good mood sounds really good. We all talk about how having supportive parents is really important, so no one thinks itâs possible for parents to be too supportive. It sounds ridiculous, the idea that you can basically give your child too much love by wanting them to always be cheerful and never having to struggle with anything.
The reasons for this attitude make sense. The other extreme of completely unsupportive parents messes with a childâs psyche much more obviously than being overly permissive does. Unless youâre actively observing someoneâs behavior and know what to look for, thereâs not much difference between having a healthy sense of self and being self-obsessed. Itâs good to take care of yourself and prioritize yourself, it keeps you safe and healthy. But itâs bad to mistreat others because you just couldnât be bothered to be considerate. Itâs one thing to set boundaries when youâre dealing with things yourself and donât have enough strength to take care of someone else on top of that, and a completely another thing to ask others to always prioritize you to their own detriment because you can't deal with even the smallest problem alone.
Fortitude against anything needs to be built up, just having support doesnât cut it. When it comes to strengthening your immune system, it's not enough to just take all your vitamins while staying indoors all day, you actually need to expose yourself to bacteria by going outside frequently. Itâs the entire point of vaccines that you need small amounts of a bad thing to be able to counter large amounts of it. Children facing expectations, disappointments and stressors is the same thing. Youâll never be able to handle even the slightest amount of stress unless you get exposed to it in small amounts first.
Also, like, this isnât new information about parenting. Granted, developmental psychology as a separate field of psychology is a pretty new field of science to begin with (less than two centuries old), but I remember, already in my childhood, there being a philosophical approach to parenting that said: âoverprotective parents raise cowardsâ. This was based on the idea that children mimic their parents, so the things their parents overly protect them from start to register as âscaryâ things. These days we know child development also includes more subtle connections, and, indeed, several articles on overprotective parenting discuss children with overprotective parents as being overly anxious, being more dependent on others, being involved in bullying as either a victim or perpetrator (or even both) and tending to lie to get people to like them more, among other behaviors connected to different types of overprotective parenting. Sounds almost like a checklist for Marinette, huh?
I used to think Marinette was coddled all the way back during the original show. It was just so obvious to me, because thatâs how I was parented and I had similar problems with emotions and I had to clean up my act as a teenager. But, I think the reason itâs never been a topic of discussion, is that it makes Marinette out to be flawed in a real, tangible way that she herself would need to fix. Even before the retool validated all the more annoying stans, we had to be very roundabout and hushhush about any flaws Marinette had, because the stans were using the boogeyman of âeveryone on Reddit/Youtube calls her stalker and blahblahblahâ to justify being annoying jerks to people trying to discuss Marinetteâs character with anything that wasnât pure praise.
The one thing to remember about the fabled fandom psychologist, whose posts Iâve also had blocked for years, is that they were a popular blog. Iâve never been that popular in the Miraculous fandom, some posts of mine were, and my most popular posts were the most milktoast, tongue-in-cheek posts that didnât actually challenge the audience in any way, practically shitposting. The Miraculous fandom at large, the side of it that desperately clings to this show and its protagonist as flawless, have never wanted to be challenged. They donât want to read anything too spicy, they want to read posts that validate the common consensus . And thatâs why a popular Miraculous blog would never write an in-depth analysis of Marinetteâs character flaws and what caused them, it just wouldnât bring the numbers theyâre used to. In fact, if a popular blog decided to say anything even vaguely critical-sounding, theyâd be torn apart by the Marinette stan mob who are just âso sick of all the saltâ.
I know these things because I lived that too. I used to dial back my opinions on this show so much, once it became clear that Marinette stans just donât remember what happens in the show and go purely on vibes and will dogpile anyone who says the vibe isnât canon. The thing I said that offended these stans so much? âMarinette has a huge support system.â This was âtoo much saltâ. I was new to active blogging and didnât know how to deal with that much negative attention, so I tried to remain mostly inoffensive the rest of my time in the fandom. Choosing to burn any bridges with a fandom that unquestionably supports this bad of a show was the best decision I ever made.

Sometimes it feels like Adrien dating Marinette is like the bad ending because she does a lot of questionable things
1-she prefers the elegant, nice guy and FAKE persona Gabriel forces into Adrien over heâs actual self (cat walker)
2-only like Gabriel when heâs personality and emotions arenât affecting her, every time sheâs happy is okey but she never actually communicates with him
3-they donât even know each other, Marinette knows Adrienâs schedule but doesnât know he hates being the corporate persona made by Gabriel, doesnât know being cat noir is the highlight of heâs day
4-she does whatever she thinks will be better for Adrien instead of letting him act by himself, letting him make heâs own choices and helping him on heâs struggles? Nah, letâs hide the truth because she knows whatâs best for Adrien (just like Gabriel does)
I know all of this is just the writers breaking characters so they can keep the secret identityâs and every revelation that could be interesting (mainly Gabriel, Adrien and Marinette) (and the sentimonster Adrien, the chat blanc accident, their true identityâs and much more) because Thomas thinks thatâs what we needs and we just want it like a spoiled child instead of us hating it because weâve been waiting for years by now for a simple thing to get a pay off
I know I've said this a few times, but so many of Marinette's flaws wouldn't be so noticeable if the show actually acknowledged they were issues that she needed to overcome, but we don't get that.
Instead, like a lot of the main characters in the show, we're just supposed to see Marinette's behavior towards Adrien as a charming quirk of hers that is meant to make us laugh... except when they decided they wanted us to actually take it seriously thanks to "Derision".

Marinette and Adrien HAVE to break up sooner or later.
Season 6 and beyond theory.
ââââââââââââââââââ
To be honest, I donât know if this even is a theory or a fact. I think many people agree on this or see it coming.
To make this clear. I donât WANT them to break up. I think Marinette and her behavior is questionable at best and from the teaser for season 6 we can assume that she didnât change. However, the writers made it pretty clear that those two are the endgame. It is âfateâ. So there is no reason to fight it. They want this. Are they perfect for each other? Nope. Absolutely not. I just hope the writers do the best they can with these characters.
So why do I think that they HAVE to break up? Even if itâs just for a while? I think you know why.
Because at the end of season 5, their relationship is based on a lie! Marinette knows the truth. And yet, she decided to not tell Adrien about his father! Or the fact, that he is a sentimonster. She knows that too but keeps her mouth shut. Maybe to protect him, maybe because she wants to honor a dead manâs last wish. Who knows! Either way, itâs wrong! In the teaser for season 6 Adrien is still wearing the fashion brand of his father. He does see him as this man who tried to make things right in the end.
But he didnât. Gabriel lost! Easy as that. Maybe Marinette got through to him but he lost. He abused his own son and considering what he did as hawkmoth or monarch, he is a terrorist. There is no getting around it.
Can you imagine what will happen when Adrien learns about all of this? His entire life will feel like a lie. Not only did he loose his family but his father is a criminal.
The writers HAVE TO clear this up somehow. This plothole is so big, they canât ignore this. And I am pretty sure they will clear this up. Why?
âŚ
..
.
Lila. She is the new big bad starting season 6. and she knows everything. When Gabriel turned her into Hoaxer, she used this opportunity to get everything from Nathalie. And if Marinette remembers, she surely remembers. And since she hates Marinette, Ladybug and Adrien too, she will use this sooner or later. We can be sure of that. Otherwise, they would have had no reason to show us how Lila got all this stuff.
So⌠what will happen once he knows? His trust in Marinette and Ladybug will be shattered. Maybe⌠just maybe, Marinette can pretend that everything is fine for a while. He will loose his trust in Ladybug but if they didnât reveal their identities to each other by than, she should be fine. For a while. Because Adrienâs fragile state will make him vulnerable to whatever Lila is planning. If they did reveal their secret to each other by than, Marinette will be done for.
Actually, not just Marinette but Ladybug too. Because she told everyone that Gabriel helped her to stop Monarch. No one will trust her. She will be isolated and for once, Lila doesnât have to make her look like the bad guy, she WILL BE the bad guy. And remember, Gabriel made a wish to Marinette and another one, the one that brought Nathalie back, to Gimmi. I donât think that it was the same wish. Balance and stuff. So by pitying Gabriel, Marinette messed everything up.
I think season 6 will be interesting. At least I hope so. We have to wait a little longer.

Miraculous wiki put this :
Before "Representation", there've been hints suggesting that Adrien is a sentimonster:
Adrien is always very obedient towards his father, even in small situations. In "Simon Says", Gabriel states that Adrien is "the image of perfection" while showing a frame with his picture to Ladybug.
as someone who used to be abused as a kid I could not be feel insulted enough that people think being obedient is one of the biggest hint that Adrien is a sentimonster. People who think being obedient and being afraid to speak up is a sign Adrien is a sentimonster must be privileges enough to grow up in a healthy loving family that they don't know how it feels to grow up in household where everything they do is being monitored, being expected to be the best at thing, failure is not an option, disobeyment could resulted in punishment etc. IM SORRY THAT I CHOOSE TO BE OBEDIENT EVEN FOR A SMALL THING BECAUSE I DONT WANT TO BE PUNISHED THEN!!
I'm sorry that was so upsetting to you. I fully agree that it's insulting to abuse victims to imply that all of these things were sentimonster hints and not just evidence that Gabriel was controlling. Foreshadowing specifically refers to things that feel off on a first watch and then read differently post reveal or things that make someone realize what's coming before the reveal, but neither of those things apply to Adrien's behavior because his behavior was always perfectly logically for his situation.
If the writers wanted to claim that these things were hints, they needed to be way more explicit and have Adrien obey in an odd way. Like have his face go oddly blank and emotionless as he says, "Yes, father" like a robot. By keeping Adrien's response human, they told people to interpret the interactions at face value because there's no need to look deeper. This is a fully logical and believable father-son dynamic.
It's one of the many, many reasons I hate the sentiplot. It adds nothing of value to the show other than a reason for Emilie to use the peacock, but they didn't even need one of those since they made the baffling choice to have Gabriel and Emilie unaware that the peacock would kill people! As I've said before, I think it's far more interesting to have Emilie become sick while doing something less explicitly selfish. Then Gabriel is righting a wrong instead of trying to undo the consequences of a deeply selfish action. The sentibaby plot removes depth and replaces it with cheap petty drama and I hate it so much.

Headcanon: Adrien Agreste is Trans? (Part 6)
First things first: Happy pride month to everyone in the community!
If youâve followed my blog for a while or fallen down the rabbit hole of this headcanon at some point, youâll know Iâve supported it for a long time. Sooo, welcome to part 6 of the Adrien being trans headcanon.
Here are the other parts of this headcanon if youâd like to read those: part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5
Usual disclaimer: this is just for fun! Obviously cis boys can have these same qualities and traits. Donât take it too seriously. These are all just things Iâve noticed. Also, I use the term "sentibeings" vs "sentimonsters" because I personally feel the canon term has a negative, dehumanizing connotation - please keep that in mind, too!
Sentibeings develop their own lives & identities
I feel like this shouldn't have to be said, but in case anyone feels Adrien being a senti-human debunks the hc, I'm writing this as an important reminder. Although they were developed through a miraculous power, Adrien, Felix, and Kagami are very much still human. Felix has made it clear that people of his kind are dehumanized, seen as "monsters," and taken advantage of which is something that upsets him greatly, and rightfully so.
This in itself is sadly something a lot of trans people can relate to. We're often dehumanized for not being "normal" and having unique/different identities in comparison to cis people who identify with their assigned birth gender.
But, I do want to focus more on the fact that sentibeings who were developed into humans are humans, meaning they develop and function the same way all humans do because this is important when talking about this hc. Adrien can still very much be trans considering he's a human with his own life and identity.
Felix had the dramatic presentation of him and Adrien's life story. Yes, he addressed Adrien being a boy the whole time, but also consider that he's going to respect his cousin's identity if he is trans. If this headcanon was in fact canon, Adrien would very much be closeted, and it isn't up to Felix to reveal his identity to others. Saying Adrien was born and raised a girl would not have added anything to the backstory, anyhow.
Gabriel could be controlling for other reasons, too
As we are all aware, Gabriel is a very controlling parent. We're directly shown that he's this way because Adrien is a sentibeing who he can control through his ring, and he's an evil, narcissistic person who doesn't care about others, including his own son. However, it is very much possible that there are other underlying reasons why he's as controlling as he is, let alone towards his own son. Like, why would he not love his own son?
There could obviously be hundreds of underlying reasons why Gabriel is so careless and controlling, but one of them could be that he may not love his son since he's trans. I briefly mentioned in part 3 of the hc that Gabriel could be unaccepting of Adrien being trans, so I'm going to build off of that.
Gabriel may not have always been quite as controlling and neglectful. Maybe before Adrien transitioned, he was a gentler, more caring father. However, we're shown in Wishmaker (yes, I know I always reference this episode lol) from Adrien's perspective, that his parents have always had certain expectations of him, most of which he's followed. So, if Adrien went against their expectations and transitioned to be their son instead of their daughter, that could've easily set Gabriel off (maybe even Emilee too, for all we know).
Why does Adrien tolerate the way Gabriel treats him?
To build further off of my last section, Adrien is aware of his father's terrible behavior and accepts it for what it is throughout a good portion of the series. But, why does he tolerate and accept it? There could be many reasons why, but I'm going to focus on two particular possibilities.
First of all, I also mentioned in part 3 that Gabriel seems like the type who'd gaslight Adrien, saying things like, âyou have it so good here! I didnât kick you out and I use your right name and pronouns!" If he is like that, that could be what makes Adrien so tolerable of his controlling behavior. He may allow this neglect and control because his father is "accepting" of his identity, enough to use the right name and pronouns.
OR, maybe Adrien thinks his behavior is acceptable due to internalized transphobia. Internalized transphobia is sadly a very common thing trans people experience. If this is something he feels, he may think it's right of his father to be unaccepting because "trans people (like me) are not worthy of others' acceptance."
Adrien's vision of the ideal man
This is another thing I've talked a bit about, but I think it's important to talk about in depth.
We see Adrien in many different identities. The ones I'm going to focus on in particular are himself, Cat Noir, and Cat Walker.
Adrien seems to have this idealistic vision in his mind of what an ideal man is supposed to be like. When he plays his role as Cat Noir, he's very over-the-top: flirtatious, strong, protective, destructive. It doesn't mirror how he acts normally, which as we see is the version of him that conforms to most of his parents' expectations. And, when he plays the role of Cat Walker -since he got the sense that Cat Noir was neither an ideal man nor heroic partner for Ladybug- he tones a lot of that down and acts the way he feels she'd like him best for, very laidback, a bit seductive, and helpful, following her ideas.
Why does he have these odd, idealistic versions of what a man should be and tosses his identity around so much? Let me explain.
Adrien hasn't had a good father figure in his life. So he most likely has had to develop this idealistic version of what a man is and follow that, switching it when he has the ability to live his second life as a hero without needing to conform to his father's standards. Adrien wants to be a man but he has no one to follow for that, especially if one of the main reasons for his father's neglect is due to unacceptance of him being trans, Gabriel will hold back as much as possible on being a good father figure and being a positive influence in his growth into manhood.

Felix x ChloĂŠ would fix a lot of things as a ship.
Both are self centered and need to learn to grow. Protestations aside- Felix's behavior throughout the series is in fact extremely self centered. His helping Adrien was tangential to securing his own power. Similarly heling Kagami was in service to securing himself a girlfriend(can't be one upped by Adrien!) even revealing the truth to stop Gabriel was simply because 'They will never let us be together!' I don't think anyone's going to argue with me that ChloĂŠ needs some self-improvement too. đ¤Ł
It'd be a fun rocky romp towards shipdom.
And Kagami? She deserves someone who liked her for more than because she's a Sentimonster(and Felix needs to learn to actually respect humans) She deserves someone forthright and kind. Someone who might be able to share the experience of having to hide a part of herself away from her family, to be approved of. Oh look, it's Zogami. It'd also be nice to see at least one or two couples who didn't meet at 14 and find their exact right life partner the first time.

So, I had a fun idea regarding Bloody Bug. This falls into the concept of the sentimonsters, namely the senti cousins. I think I can stand with those that didn't see much variation of a born senti monster compared to normal people except they're born of magic. Well, that's change that up.
Now, the show may put some emphasis on this, but let's fully commit. Since senti monsters are the personification of an emotional state, let them fully reflect that. Their behaviors, mannerisms, thoughts, everything is determined first and foremost by that emotion. Well, what emotion is the senti cousins?
Love. Both Felix and Adrien are senti monsters of love. They are both hopeless romantics, can become depressed faster when not in a fully loving and an isolating environment, and have a tendency to latch into things they love (family, romantic, or platonic).
Thought this would be a fun addition and change up to what canon gave us.

Sorry for the vague description! Actually, I am asking for #protective Adrien# in the love square. But #protect Adrien is my other need too:)
Most of #protective Adrien# are about salt Lila or Chloe and it's boring for me at all. In my opinion, Protective like a part of his personality. The type I want to see it's like he is not protective as a "perfect boyfriend" save his girl from a bitch's hand(sorry for these girls just for their salt version), and lose his other individuality.
Some of my favourite is
Penumbra by Selkie077
Little Bits of Mari by breeeliss
One Thing After Another by SKayLanphear
Looks like they are more like #protect Adrien but fine:) I love Adrien showing his fragility and insecurity.
Looks like my demand expression is getting chaotic now...Sorry for that and thanks for your work for this fandom! I love reading your ML theory.
Good day good night or good anytime for you
Oooh yeah, there's a big difference between "protect Adrien" and "protective Adrien". You're right that it's hard to find ones that aren't based around Lila or Chloe salt, they're the ones who have terrorized Marinette canonically. That really just leaves Gabriel, who's more of a threat to Adrien. Still, I think I can find some fics for you.

He Couldn't Remember (Falling For Her) by @purpleautumnvision
"If I was given a choice in who Chat Noir would be, I would've chosen you." "And there's nobody else in the whole world I'd rather have as my little bug." Without secret identities in the way, Marinette and Adrien get to live out their love story and put their heads together to discover the identity of Hawk Moth... but an unforeseen twist puts the Miraculouses in Gabriel's hands. When he makes his wish for a world where his wife never became sick from using the broken Peacock Miraculous, the universe requires someone else to become sick in order to maintain balance. Who better than his greatest enemy, Ladybug herself? Adrien, with his memories rewritten by the wish, wakes up in a world without superheroes, without Hawk Moth, without Marinette, without friends, and without a clue as to why everything feels so wrong. Something's missing, but he's gonna find out what. Then he'll put his world back into place.
So this was a fascinating scenario, with Adrien waking up in a world where Marinette was dead while his mother was alive, a world that as far as he knew had always been the case... but having weird feelings he can't explain. And not just him, I love how much focus Alya gets here as well! Turns out that the memories are kind of hidden, but still present, and since Adrien and Alya never got to meet Marinette in this universe (she died just before the new school year began, at the same time that Emilie did in the normal universe) AND Adrien and Alya were her closest friends in the previous universe, their feelings towards her are closest to the surface and least impacted by the memories from this universe.
The other people in this universe... well, the class isn't taking Marinette's death well. It's fascinating to see just how much her death effects them, to see how it haunts them, and I loved seeing their reactions to Adrien's weird behavior about their dead classmate who he never got a chance to meet, it shows how strange some of this can look to the outside, and it doesn't help that these are grieving kids.
Just... this is a great fic, I highly recommend checking it out!

Feather Fall by @a-flaming-idiot
Marinette Dupain-Cheng is a sentimonster. Adrien knows this. Alya knows this. They just wish they could tell Marinette. Maybe if they could she would have stayed safe when the Primordial attacked. When a monster mauled her with the intention of devouring the magic that made up her very being. Instead, Adrien is forced to use the Miraculous his father had used to hurt so many, to save his closest friend. And only Alya can keep him going as he threatens to crumble under the weight of his parents' sins.
I love the friendship between Adrien, Alya, and Marinette on display here, there's some great interactions between them, Adrien and Alya are great friends and both of them care about Marinette a lot, I hope to see more of this AU!

home is where the fight is by @rosie-b
Nadja Chamackâs voice greeted Adrien as he sat up straight, wiping his clammy hands on his pants and ignoring the black kwami floating by his shoulder. ââshocked to see our heroine fall in battle today, taking a direct hit from the akuma just as she detransformed. Parisians are torn between blaming Hawk Moth and Cat Walker for their roles in this tragedy, which ultimately revealed the civilian identity of Ladybug, Marinette Dupain-Cheng.â Adrien turned off the TV and lowered his head as his vision blurred. Written for Ladrien June Day 7: Injured
I adore this fic! Which shouldnât be a a surprise, itâs no secret that I love Sentiadrien Enemies AU. Adrienâs so worried about Marinette getting hurt, and wishes that he could help keep her safer, could tell her whatâs really going on or get rid of the ring or something, but he canât. Still, he IS able to find clever ways around some of his fatherâs more problematic orders. Loopholes for the win!

A Mousey guest by charliepoet13
Adrien Agreste has finally managed to break away from his father and make his way out into the world. One faithful night, after settling down in his new home, he spots a strange guest.
Adrien X Multimouse fic here! So this is inspired by the Borrowers, with little people the size of mice living amongst ordinary-sized humans, and Marinette got a little careless here XD. But soon finds that Adrienâs friendly and not a threat. Itâs adorable and reminds me of the The Littles book series that I read when I was a kid!
---
Caught In A Multimouse Trap by @a-flaming-idiot
Adrien was having a rather slow morning. That was until he discovered a tiny superhero trapped in his home and decides to be a bit of a hero even out of his suit.
This was adorable! Adrien does his best to care for the little miniature superhero caught in a mousetrap, bandaging her up as best as he can (thankfully only her tail got caught so itâs more of a phantom pain than an actual injury) and just⌠itâs really cute.
---
May I Introduce Myself, Your Highness? by @chocoluckchipz
Whether picking up a stray animal off the streets or saving a dying child at the market, Adrien had always strived to be the best version of himself. Truly, he wouldâve been the perfect candidate to be snatched up by a kwami, were he an orphan, dying somewhere remote after a short life full of nothing but suffering and misery. Yet as it stood, the sole heir to the French throne had little to complain about. Apart from, perhaps, a complete absence of a love life. That is until a mysterious girl, wandering around his gardens at night, catches his attention.
I love Fantasy AUs. Itâs a bit unclear whatâs happening at first, but it all gets explained in the last chapter. Also donât worry about the age gap between Marinette and Adrien at the start of the story, I promise itâs not a problem in the end.
---
I hope these can satisfy you!

Tell me, is there anything on Miraculous that you thought was dumb?
oh boy! an ask! yippee!!
pretty much every writing decision made the show worse I think. I literally had to put the show on x2 speed to finish it from how mad I got at every second on the show.
putting chat noir on the sidelines because this is a girl's show so they want "girl power"? dumb. he's literally in the fucking title.
putting Adrien on the sidelines in the final battle in season 5 when it's literally his fucking dad trying to revive his mom and he is the sentimonster that got her killed? WHY IS HE NOT THERE.
erasing Chloe's redemption and then arguing with the fans on twitter that you made the right decision and they know nothing about writing? dumb as hell.
the show keeps telling us Marinette is a wonderful person who's loved by everyone but she keeps acting selfishly and horribly without any consequences? like, at least be consistent. you can't say "she's so perfect and Chat is so useless!" and then have her abuse her powers the next episode to break into her crush's room, you can't have her flawed in one episode and not acknowledge it the next.
can they stop with the stalker behavior of Marinette? this is something that happens a lot of male protagonists, that they try to "get the girl" and stuff, doing it in reverse isn't progressive, it's creepy. she's getting a bit too much shit for it but she's still in the wrong, does she really need to know Adrien's schedule for the NEXT 3 YEARS?!
idk other than that they made some interesting decisions that have a lot of potential, but their execution was really underwhelming at times. there's always more they could have taken a character or pushed a plot, it feels like they make a basic outline for an episode and then refuse to deviate from it even a little even if it's getting pulled in a more interesting direction. there's a lot of wasted potential there.

Remember that revised Butterfly we discussed?
Its hilarious tome how the first 3 seasons at least work perfectly with that and no Peacock cos like:
Season 1: Exactly the same but Plagg doesn't ignore the Peacock as there is no Peacock.
Season 2: Only changes during Heroes' Day, with a Familiar manifesting to protect Gabriel after he was beaten. It takes the form of Emilie's Familiar so he views it as a sign to keep fighting.
Season 3: The plot can still mostly be the same.
Gabriel creates Familiars to fight alongside Akuma, to replace Sentimonsters and Feast is a fully manifested Familiar that slipped the leash.
Nathalie as Catalyst can work.
She either enhances the Akuma so they are more dangerous & have powerful Familiars. Or she enhances Gabriel so he can make teams of Akuma, & she can still engage in fisticuffs with the heroes.
Nathalie can even end up with a wasting illness by snatching & using the Butterfly to try her Ladybug gambit. as the consequences of forcibly manifesting a Familiar like she did are immense.
The only major hurdle would be Lila's scheme.
It can be handled though.
Namely, with being made into Scarlet Moth so often putting a strain on Gabriel's body. Not lethal, but it adds up & hit at at the worst time.
This would also neatly explain why he sticks to smaller teams & Familiars after S2, & maybe even had a brief break between seasons.
Notes:
If it were me & my 12 Kwami lore, Kim would be Tiger King & Chat Blanc would be less "Visit the future" and more like "Vision Quest" done with Sass, but those are rather minor shifts.
Season 4 &5 however...
One could adapt the broad strokes, but more major changes would be needed, especially for the 12 Kwami's, but even just the Butterfly. Still, the broad stroke plot points are likely plausible.
That includes the Senti-kids being Akuma-Kids; with the Akumatized items being a weak spot if damaged that also allows a Butterfly user to influence behavior or more easily Akumatize them.
This is all great and I want to give more input but all I can think is 'thank you for reminding me that Plagg full on ignored the Peacock being in Gabe's safe'.

What red flags do you think Adrien has?
First and foremost, Adrien hasn't changed during the series. Like, at all. If this had been any other series with a "Status Quo is God" mentality, I wouldn't be so nitpicky. The problem is we were promised plot all the way back in Season 2. And plot typically involves characters changing, growing, and developing along the way. I know I'm gonna sound like a broken record, but Avatar: The Last Airbender is pretty much the gold standard of what kid's shows nowadays should aspire to be like. The old "it's for kids" excuse is only gonna go so far when we've had gems such as ATLA, the Batman Animated Series, the OG Justice League, the OG Teen Titans, heck even anime like Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z on air. I'm personally not a fan of Dragon Ball Z, but even I can acknowledge what Akira Toriyama accomplished.
Those works also weren't afraid to get dark and scary while still being age-appropriate. Something modern kid's cartoons can all learn from, be it Disney, Cartoon Network, or even Nickelodeon. And something they all have in common? A strong and well-structured plot. Emphasis on "well-structured". I can't claim to know what goes on in the writing room of Miraculous Ladybug, but it's painfully clear hardly anyone knows what they're doing. And it's resulted in the "plot" of the show turning into a tangled tumbleweed drifting across the desert of discarded but better-written ideas.
Whatever the metaphor is, anyway.
Let's continue.
Adrien's second biggest red flag is his continuous defense of characters like Chloe and more recently Lila. I'm admittedly ignoring Season 4 onward because I cannot fathom disrespecting your characters (and audience) so much you turn a kid's show into your own vanity project just to stroke your ego. But that's beside the point.
Adrien has the unfortunate habit of defending problematic people like pre-"redemption" Chloe (I use that word loosely as I'm doing my own Chloe redemption in my fic with Rafe) and Lila. You could argue that it's because of the way his father raised him. But it defeats the whole purpose of Adrien getting to go to school.
School is a place where you learn and grow. And figure out how to deal with unpleasant stuff, such as bullying, incompetent teachers, and apathetic faculty (I'm telling on myself, I just know). The problem is that Adrien, despite all his chances to figure out how to unlearn the behaviors Gabriel instilled in him, has not once made any active attempts to improve himself. Yeah. I know. I may be a little too harsh on him, but that's because I saw potential in Adrien to be much better than he is now. Disregarding the Sentimonster theory being confirmed (again, I'm also ignoring that), Adrien's stagnation is very telling of both the character and the writers. No matter what happens in the show, the universe bends itself backwards to acknowledge his existence. Do you know what that's called in writing?
A Mary Sue. Or, in Adrien's case, a Marty Stu. You could argue that Marinette is a Mary Sue, but she gets torn down so much in the show the argument is pretty much moot.
Do note that this is not aimed to tear down anyone who's written Mary Sues or Marty Stus. I've created several of my own in my early days as a writer. Who hasn't. The thing is, though, as I grew up, so did my characters and my writing.
Adrien hasn't grown up since the start of the show. And that's very telling.
Then there's the third biggest red flag of Adrien: his behavior as Chat Noir. I know it feels unfair to use that against him, but it's been stated multiple times that Chat Noir is, in essence, Adrien's true self without his everyday mask.
If that is who he is without any limits, then I want him as far away from me as possible.
Preferably, with a restraining order.
I have yet to figure out why this keeps happening when Hollywood and other big-name studios write romance â even by female authors and writers â but it has to stop. Men, most sane women prefer it if you accept the first "no" as an answer. That goes for you too, ladies. No, I don't care if this pisses anyone off. I'm an equal-opportunity realist. And I'm gonna say something that will likely have people calling for my head on a pike:
Relationships in general are built on mutual trust and communication. It's hard work maintaining a healthy relationship, it really is. But more often than not, it's one of the most fulfilling things anyone can possibly dream of. No, this doesn't mean everyone is obligated to say yes to romance. There are those who choose to avoid romance altogether.
And that's perfectly fine. I just happen to be a romantic who enjoys romance. That's my personal preference (no, this doesn't mean I like red flags).
The writers of Miraculous Ladybug seem to be under the impression that teenagers should hook up with the first hot person they meet. And that's a very dangerous message to spread. Because what if the first hot person they meet is a domestic abuser? Or worse: a criminal who has no issue using whatever they can to control and dominate their partner.
Adrien â and by proxy, Chat Noir â has displayed behavior that's alarmingly similar to domestic abusers despite his sunshine persona. He's destroyed property because Ladybug told him "no" (Sentibubbler). He set up a date even though Ladybug told him she had plans, then had the audacity to get huffy and upset about it (Glaciator). He's lied to someone about his relationship with her, then blamed her for the resulting akuma.
Note that the last example was from Copycat, a Season 1 episode. Which bears the disturbing implication that this is an ongoing issue, not a one-time problem.
Adrien Agreste had potential to be a great character.
It's too bad the writers have stressed he's too perfect to change.
