*MINI-TUTORIAL IN CAPTION* The is one of the classic #BeginnerPoleSpins known as Martini 🍸 or Fire Lady 🔥💃🏽
Once you feel safe and comfortable lifting your feet off the floor, it's a great one to start building that upper body strength 💪🏽 You might not get many revolutions, or you may sink immediately, but that's okay! It takes time to build up that strength and make things look effortless. Just enjoy the journey and have fun with it 🩷
MINI-TUTORIAL
1) Reach high with the inside arm, bringing the outside arm across your chest.
2) Turn your chest towards the pole, hooking your outside leg in front of the pole.
3) Pick up your inside leg bringing it to the pole so the pole is sandwiched between your legs.
4) Pull down with your top arm, push into the pole with your bottom arm, and lean into the hip of the bent leg.
5) The momentum will come from how high and how fast you swing that outside leg around before you hook it.
TIP! You can build up momentum by walking into the spin like I'm doing 😘

NEWTON'S LAWS, BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO AN F1 RACE WEEKEND
main & series masterlist !
introducing... the lion and his lioness prey pairing: f1!raphael cameron & reporter!reader
An apple fell from a tree and well... you know the rest. Much like Newton's apple, you fell right in his path, the lion's path, and he deemed you his prey. Silly boy. That was his first mistake.
A tale as old as time, Newton & his gravity, faceclaim: HoYeon Jung & various pinterest girls
warnings! fem!reader, use of y/n, slight swearing, timeline inconsistencies, mentions of carlos leaving ferrari
prologue, chapter 1, chapter 2...
Show Transcript
0:00 [The camera pans across the front of the Ferrari motorhome] Once a Ferrari girl, always a Ferrari girl...
0:16 [The camera cuts to a shot inside y/n's bedroom] Sorry to cut that short, I'll be doing that a few times today in what's basically my beginner's guide to an F1 race weekend at the British Grand Prix.
0:44 I was lucky enough to be gifted an F1 Paddock pass which includes the F1 hospitality, pit lane walks, a buffet, open bar and champagne hospitality [camera cuts to you drinking champagne] and not to forget, the guided paddock access!
1:55 The British Grand Prix marks the 10th race of the F1 calendar, excluding pre-season track sessions at Barcelona and pre-season testing in Sakhir which allows a chance for the 10 teams to put their cars (following the considerable changes during the winter break and often new cars entirely) through their paces ahead of the opening race of the year. This year, the calendar aims to fit 23 GP's, a record amount following the Covid pandemic.
2:43 [The shot switches to a YouTube video of Rafe Cameron lifting the World Championship Trophy in 2021] These drivers are high performance athletes in a team sport, driving around in oddly shaped circles and battling extreme g-forces at 370km/h to compete for this, the F1 Driver's Championship, while teams fight for the F1 Constructors Championship and prize money based on their position at the end of the season.
4:01 The standard F1 GP weekend sees each event take place over three days, typically Friday through Sunday. [The camera pans to a shot of Daniel Ricciardo's car zooming past] On Friday, there's two on-hour practice sessions - Free Practice 1 (FP1) and Free Practice 2 (FP2). Saturday starts with Free Practice 3 (FP3) to give time to fine-tune their set-ups before parc ferme conditions begin and most work on the car is banned. I prefer watching FP1 and FP2 because it's usually a lot quieter on the track.
5:05 [A shot of Rafe Cameron climbing out of his car following Q1] Qualifying takes place later on Saturday, and is split up into three stages - Q1, Q2 and Q3 - which last 18 minutes, 15 minutes and 12 minutes respectively. The five slowest drivers are eliminated from Q1, and five more drop out of Q2, setting up grid positions from 20th up to 11th. The remaining 10 drivers head to Q3 to determine the top 10 grid slots, with the fastest driver taking pole position for Sunday's Grand Prix.
5:55 [Carlos Sainz claiming his first pole of his 150-race F1 career]
6:10 I don't think I've ever screamed that loud before, he really deserved that pole in what might be his last season for Ferrari. It's a shame we won't see him next season but currently, he's driving like a man with no appendix and no job, and I respect it.
6:43 [The camera pans to you walking by the pit lanes] So tomorrow's the GP and I really hope Carlos can convert this into a win. Generally, before the race drivers can conduct 'reconnaissance laps' as they head to the grid to gauge track conditions and make any last-minute checks, before stopping their cars in their grid position. There's just time to make some last minute tweaks before the drivers walk to the front of the grid for the national anthem.
7:36 Following the national anthem, the drivers then strap themselves in and team members clear the grid before it's time for the formation lap. [The camera pans to a shot of Sunday's formation lap] The cars weaving side to side isn't because they're bad drivers, don't worry, it's so they can heat their tyres for grip [The drivers return to their grid positions ready for the start].
8:16 [You hold your breath filming the start of the race] The race director's about to initiate the start sequence [five red lights turn on one by one before all lights go out all at once to start the Grand Prix and the cars race towards the first corner].
...
16:55 I'm going to cry, Carlos Sainz just f*cking won the British Grand Prix! I'm divided on the safety cars, but thank you Estie Bestie for retiring your car. Carlos attacked Charles on fresh tyres at the restart, got that P1 and won! I fear I'll never shut up about this.. [The camera pans to Carlos' podium].
21:01 [The shot switches to y/n's bedroom] Unfortunately, I didn't bump into Jenson Button that weekend, which is a shame but I hope to be back someday on a more regular basis... Thank you all for letting me take you along to my dream playground and for letting me ramble on, please do let me know if you'd be interested in more F1 breakdowns. Hope you're all wonderful, love you loads, mwah!

note! credits to zya for her layout and for her ingenious idea to breakdown f1 to those of you who love rafe but may not know much about this world xx i may be posting little extras like this to explain more and adding little links to f1 articles that help break the sport down.
did you catch the danny ric reference?
i couldn't resist basing this on carlos' win, i'm gonna miss him this season :( if u guys have any questions, please feel free to ask, i'll try to answer them to the best of my ability

AHH SORRY COULDN'T RESIST ASKING FOR MORE!! I just love this whole idea of a casino setting frfr
What if MC wanted to try what OCs do? Following OCs around like a puppy lmao🧎
Amias: they pester him trying to get him to teach them the da way of winning (and pool game. Pool games are hot, you can get quite handsy with someone while teaching lmao)
Edge: they follow him and clumsily try to shuffle the cards and do tricks. Ain't it adorable? Look, Edge, it's a new focus!!
DD: MC wearing clothes to match him and begging to get their hands on DD's scythe to try to scare away problematic players like a bouncer (they don't. The one scaring folks is behind MC l can sense it 😭)
Jackpot: dancing. Pole. Pole dancing 😳 shy MC wanna try it, but oh my would you look at that, such snuggly fitted outfit may reveal too much (and everyone can see it? Scandalous!)
Gambit: MC follows them with a masterfully crafted pout, trying to copy them and their stoic posture. Someone giving trouble to Gambit? MC is here to save the day! (apparently, the poor naivety doesn't realise Gambit can scare everyone in this room by only a stare)
- stargazer who is set on knowing the lore!! 😭
Well well well, stargazer. Ask and ye shall receive!
Yandere!OCs x GN Reader
Teaching MC to be like them!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/d9b579e297d3980acc53be9df07caeda/c8162eccc7e4f863-0a/s540x810/b8fb4bad77e32c7328a2e91237d1409e1ce0c584.jpg)
Amias
You're right. Pool games are hot. Amias is definitely enjoying his chest pressed against your back as he leans over you to teach you how to hold the pool cue. You seem thrilled when you so much as hit a ball. It's cute.
You wanna learn to gamble like a pro? Sure, just sit on his lap and he'll teach you the ways of the cards. He'll tell you all the values of every hand, he'll teach you to spot a liar, and he'll teach you how to get past Edge's tricky dealing.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/d8ab5477629bbd0e87dc8eaa2e44b8c1/c8162eccc7e4f863-7e/s540x810/72ee99d0401ed5011de5833df65db13ece67da74.jpg)
Edge
Did you know you only have to shuffle a 52 card deck seven times in order for it to be as shuffled as it can be? Well you will. Edge will literally lecture you on cards and dealing and drunk customers. Hell, Gambit will practically hire you after he's done.
He's happy to teach you all he knows, especially if it means you're giving him your undivided attention. EXTRA especially if it means he can punish you when you get something wrong. Nothing too bad, dear. It's a beginners mistake. You still need to learn somehow, though.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/3f910807f40be926456622094a416926/c8162eccc7e4f863-94/s540x810/e86953a62d12b803582b9076c55325b91375db51.jpg)
Double Down
'Oh my god couples outfits' is probably his first thought. God, you look so cute. He's not even sure where you got clothes that match his, but he's living for it. As for his scythe... Sure, use it. He doesn't care if you wreak havoc on those around you, it just means you're a quick learner. Even the adorable you is more threatening with a giant human-sized weapon.
He still thinks you're cute though. Of course you can't stomach his job, that's why he has to do it. It's okay though, you can pretend like you're scaring off drunkards with your silly scowl and he'll threaten to throw them into the fountain if they try to tell you you're not scary.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/91c10b5eb778ca46e6bb7c57752de07c/c8162eccc7e4f863-18/s540x810/28c778e3809ad8c985798663a42b9e11bc1f3633.jpg)
Jackpot
No. Never. Not in a thousand years. You're too divine to be seen in that outfit, please change. He's a hypocrite in this situation, but does he care? Absolutely not. He'll steal Gambit's jacket to cover you up and sneak you off to probably go cry.
He'll sob into your confused, barely covered arms in the back room, whining all the while about how unfair it is. You're for his eyes only! Don't you even care? Why are you laughing?!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/bf996c2f1ea4314e671c4e546850aed2/c8162eccc7e4f863-1e/s540x810/1aaeea790440dde8f0e15e62eaa2350e0a0da81e.jpg)
Gambit
Gambit doesn't understand why you want to be like him. He'll teach you how to handle finances if you want, but he doesn't think you'll like it. It is enjoyable to watch you glare at disrespectful customers like you're his own personal bodyguard, and it's nice to have you hang around, too.
If anyone gives you trouble, though, they're banned for life. You're the new co-owner, and he will not tolerate any disrespect toward you. Besides, you'll have to get used to it anyways when you eventually become his sweet little spouse.

i've been achieving things so hard the past few years i can't do it anymore!!! i just wanna be a chill loser girl with hobbies now i don't want to prove anything to anyone anymore not even to myself!
like in the past year alone i had 2 fashion shows to my name as a designer, all these other fashion related gigs( styling and modeling ), 2 internships, fulltime school, a job, my serious relationship, fulltime commitment to fitness that made me go from beginner to intermediate in pole dancing, animal rescues, traveling(both mandatory for school/family and leisure), etc etc etc
and it's all nice and i am so immensely proud of myself but it's honestly so exhausting....i love always doing something but it does catch up with you sometimes when you multitask 10 activities at once... anyway not complaining just wishing i finally learn what's a healthy balance!

David x (fem) reader on a Disney cruise (Disney dream) ily
a/n: uh side note... I've never been on a cruise so I'm gonna go off of every commercial and youtube video I've seen. sorry if it's inaccurate lol.
(david kawena x reader)
summary: cruise antics with a side of sunburn
Masterlist
---
"Can I back out?" You asked, inching away from the decreasing line of people. Coming into contact with skin, you looked up to meet David's gaze. However, he was focused on the view below you. Following his eyes, you saw all the bodies splashing in the pool. Looking back at you he smiled lightly.
"It's not so bad. I swear. Scout's honor," he stated, bringing up a hand to place it on his heart. With a rather unamused look you tilted your head at him. "Really, it's not that fast," he insisted.
"I'm not worried about that. What if I like, rip my swimsuit while we’re in there and everyone will-" You glanced around to make sure no one was paying attention to you, leaning closer to David you whispered to him, "What if my ba hoobs fall out."
Instantly a snort left David's lips as he went to try and hide his laughter behind his arm.
"Why did you pronounce it like that?" He giggled rather childishly. You furrowed your brows at him.
"Do you see how many kids are around? What if I flash them, David? I will never forgive myself."
Calming down from his fit, the boy placed a hand on your back, reassuringly.
"I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. It's not like anything can tear it away. You're gonna be on the tube the whole time. The tubes not gonna hurt you."
Biting your lip you hesitantly took another step forward.
"If you're wrong you so owe me. For giving me false hope." David chuckled again.
"It'll be fine," he stated, placing the tube down onto the starting pad
--
"I've never even played golf let alone the mini version of it," You informed taking a golf club from David as he handed it to you.
"Really? I swear we did on a date once," David said, snagging a ball and maneuvering around running children to hole 1.
"Maybe we did. I don't know but I can already tell this is not my forte." You mumbled watching as David placed the tee into the ground and stepped back to line his shot and do practice swing. Looking back at you he smiled with a shrug.
"Hey, don't knock it till you try it." Looking back at the course, he leaned over and went for the hit. Smoothly the ball rolled across the mats before entering a windmill that was slowly moving and exiting back out onto the grass. Watching, it stopped just before flag.
"You are so going to win," you stated. "How am I even supposed to get it through the fan thing?"
"You'll do great. Just go for it," David insisted, walking backwards, his pole on his shoulder.
Looking rather helpless you fixed yourself into a stance that you guessed resembled David's and attempted a swing. The ball took off faster than his but still made it's way up the ramp and through the windmill, effortlessly falling on to the hole.
Jaw dropping you looked over at David who was cheering.
"See I told you. Look at that you're a natural." Laughing you waved your hand, jogging to catch up to him.
"Beginners luck."
--
“Ow ow ow ow- be gentle,” David whined as you smoothed aloe over his shoulders. Whispering a quiet ‘Sorry,’ you eased up on your actions.
The boy sat on the edge of the hotel rooms bed facing the TV as you kneeled behind him.
“I don’t get it. I’m in the sun literally all the time. Why am I getting burnt now?” He asked eyes fixed on the screen which was playing the The Little Mermaid.
“You didn’t drink a lot of water today. That’s probably a factor,” you hummed, capping the container. David sighed, carefully turning to fall onto his stomach, head plopping onto the sheets causing his bangs to fall in front of his eyes.
Laughing lightly at his miserable state, you joined him, resting onto you side. With your head in one hand you tucked the misplaces strands of hair behind his ear with the other.
“Thanks,” he mumbled. Responding with a small smile you continued to card through his hair with your fingers. Eyes falling shut the atmosphere became quite despite the tune of ‘Kiss The Girl’ playing in the background.
“You still want to go to our reservation?” You questioned softly as the song ended. Letting out another huff of breath David picked his head up, neck craning to look at you.
“If you want to,” he responded. Furrowing your brows you scanned across the boys features, taking in his tired eyes from the busy day, before sitting up and reaching for the remote.
“I think Finding Nemo’s next. We can watch that and order room service instead. We have all of this week still to check the restaurants out,” you offered. Placing his chin in his palm, elbow sinking into the mattress David looked over his shoulder back at the TV.
“I do like a good Merlin and Dory moment,” he mumbled.
“Sounds like a plan then,” you agreed crawling over to place a quick kiss to David’s cheek. The corner of his mouth quirked up as he turned back to you. Pushing himself up slightly, he cupped the side of your face and pulled you back to him. A small smiled edged its way onto you lips before they connected to his.
His presence disappeared as soon as it came but you followed him as he pulled back. Putting his cheeks in your palms you brought him back close to you. As you did so David shifted forward, making you fall onto the pillows. Giggling softly you placed your hands onto his shoulder to draw him closer just as you fell into another kiss.
However the sudden lurch from the man above you made you do so otherwise.
“Woah- watch the skin man. Making me feel like I’m being stung by a jellyfish,” he hissed. You winced at his reaction.
“Sorry,” you said placing your hold onto the sides of his neck to slowly pull him back in.

I'm usually horrible at these things because I never know what to ask, so thank you for the nifty list. XD My question because I love seeing your pole videos -> What made you decide to get into pole fitness?
that is why I made the list, bc I'm also horrible at coming up with questions 😂
anyway. for anyone who is unaware, I post a weekly pole video on Instagram after my pole fitness class. like honestly I do that more predictably than I post about my books lmao.
[I'll add a link to my latest reel when I'm back on desktop, since on mobile the phone's menu blocks the link button when I highlight the text.]
okay so how I got into it:
I had a work friend who does aerial silks (among other things), who invited me to the showcase at the studio she teaches at. something I loved about their showcase was the body diversity, especially in the pole, burlesque, and chair routines. like!! you've got all these plus-sized women looking sexy and confident as hell, and I was like, I want to feel that way.
so after the second showcase I went to, I stopped by my friend's office like "I'm thinking of trying a pole class," and she INSTANTLY grabbed her phone, texted the beginner pole instructor, signed me up for a drop-in class, and said "no more thinking, now you just have to try it :)"
which btw was very effective, like I'm convinced I would've tried it eventually but it probably would've taken another six months of careful consideration bc that's how I generally am.
instead, I went, and I've gone every week since. it's been like 10 months now, and I've also tried a Lyra (aerial hoop) workshop and a pole choreography class, plus helped out with pole demos at Pride, plus go to a free monthly Latin dance night my instructor hosts downtown with a friend from the local ballroom company.
it's the most in tune I've ever been with my own body (ever a work in progress, but we're getting there), plus the best I've ever felt about my body.
on that note, have a thirst trap that a different platform marked as "suggestive content," which is the first time that's ever happened to me lmao

I said my thirties would be my hot girl era, and so they are 😤

2025 New Year Resolution
Alright, New Year's Eve is coming up quickly, and I'd like to share my resolution.
It's the same as this year's resolution, which is similar to my 2023 resolution.
It's super simple and easy to attain, but also makes a world of a difference for me. Especially when I'm having a bad day, I just need to remember it, and work on it.
What is this resolution?
Back in 2023, I decided I wanted to go on a quest for happiness.
I was told that it's a difficult quest, but for me, I don't see it that way.
For me, I see it as an opportunity to try new things, to see what I enjoy and dislike. So what if I tried a class and discovered I hated it? I'll just try a different one next time.
If something brings me joy, I'll try and incorporate it into my life. If it's not available, or if I'm tired of it, I'll try out something new.
The point isn't the achieve a constant happy state. Let's face it, life is too complicated for that. But it is a quest to find what brings me joy, and what little things I can do to bring a happier life.
I'll absolutely admit to bad days, or days when I think nothing's working out.
Then I remember my little planner/calendars I had for the dark days to hold onto my sanity, to not fall apart.
Sometimes... finding happiness is in the little things. Reading a book, watching a tv show, meeting friends, going for a walk (usually this is mostly me thinking over things, but is also a great way to listen to audio books!).
Anyways, if you're looking for a thought-provoking New Year's Resolution that's easy to take (I mean, most places have recreation centres and libraries, and I am talking about activities for adults, not just teens/kids). You don't have the money? Okay, well, if you can access a library, they have physical and e-books (e-books are great, cause you can put them on your phone, which is kind of required these days, but also tablets/computers).
Try going to the beach, and building a sand castle. Go out into the snow and build a sculpture. If it falls, will you laugh and learn from the experience, or decide you hated the process and try something new?
Find a place you can go to (safely), and explore (safely). Try a dance class, learn about the starts, who cares?
Watch a bunch of videos on youtube if you need to.
Also, be careful not to burn yourself out. Don't try like 10 things at once. Make sure you balance your schedule with time for yourself/to sleep, as well as making new memories/trying things that make you happy.
Hey, if you're happy with 10 things, make sure you cycle those through your life!
Some things I've tried:
Pole Fit (not pole dancing, pole fit, it's more acrobatic, in theory)
Drum Fit
A "beginner's" drawing class (it's a rec class that I enjoy)
I'm going to try and take up dancing
Auditioning for local theatre productions (AND going to see them)
Spending more time reading/writing/at the library
Attempting to make new friends
Played "tourist" in my own province (visited places that are mostly for tourists, but are also cool and should be seen by anyone, e.g. a concrete garden, an art maze, a long weekend trip on a road "trail", various forts/towns/places that pretend they're in a different year)
Book shopping <3 (really bad habit)
Lego shopping (less so lately)
Tried some other small artistic hobbies
Anyways, if you can, I recommend trying new things! Figure out what brings you joy, and what you can expand on!

Grace’s Coffee Stand
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/9508bd176e20c9c5a132d07e6996ace9/f4e54aa2c9929a8a-b8/s540x810/c860c6b914862f995798f6414bf5c168af8d79f4.jpg)
Grace Thomas is full of big ideas, and she’s always coming up with new and exciting ways to grow her business skills. This weekend, she’s taking a shot at opening a coffee stand serving guests at Fable Mountain Ski Resort. Winter isn’t over yet--and there’s still lots of snow up here!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6ccf52d07fbeba3b8215188309c10b84/f4e54aa2c9929a8a-87/s540x810/9c3cef4ec9db6508816cf5717887c0b3a8b3c342.jpg)
Grace has brought along as much as she can fit onto the countertop of her custom-made recycled-wood kiosk. She’s got hot cocoa, whipped cream, hot coffee, warm cookies, candy canes, and cinnamon sticks! She sets up her stand right outside the gift shop and close to the trailheads, so that guests can either warm up before they head out, or can refuel after they’ve had their fun for the day.
Let’s see who’s stopping by today......
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/9599a3df0c8124a81995181b97186833/f4e54aa2c9929a8a-41/s540x810/e9d66338722f797da6c26a99b5658a1e6f10c8b2.jpg)
Rose is at Fable Mountain today with her toboggan. The resort has some of the best sledding hills around, and she has the time of her life running up the hill and then zooming back down.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/478ee1bf93b6442e0549cfe67f9400ad/f4e54aa2c9929a8a-3a/s540x810/372e9f587840bceb8ce41c5e90911af9cc5415ee.jpg)
Even with all the running, Rose’s hands and toes have become very cold. She’s glad to warm up with a cup of hot cocoa topped with marshmallows.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/cbf2f203d9eba9c3b5b4a50e2edc302d/f4e54aa2c9929a8a-2d/s540x810/4598cdef416d1a77f3fd9df3ec562ee5c34cc67b.jpg)
Over on the steeper slopes, Fernanda is learning to snowboard!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/bf72144382fb07d845bac37511e49a71/f4e54aa2c9929a8a-f1/s540x810/b110b902118389dc5a8c06a77bde9c32f50d3769.jpg)
It’s not easy the first few times she tries, and she falls down a lot. While she rests her tired knees, she needs a nice, hot drink to melt the snow inside her boots and her mittens...
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/f8f0680caeccc5ddc46805381bbb9e7f/f4e54aa2c9929a8a-7b/s540x810/5f3443d0c0303e9b0f89a73cd467fed2ad3a444b.jpg)
Grace offers her a cup of fresh-brewed coffee, in a mug!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6889d27d1c7f39cdedc9552f4aaf9e7a/f4e54aa2c9929a8a-fc/s540x810/9552db8c3242eae97fa1eb65c3b86a0fa86c4099.jpg)
Paper cups are available for customers who don’t want to stick around while they drink, but Fernanda needs something to warm her hands while she drinks.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/5768151cc98a4545a270f63a3d471b28/f4e54aa2c9929a8a-8d/s540x810/90e88292c50e06ebc8ecb89946e4bbd2ad9adc21.jpg)
Ellen is at Fable Mountain today to go cross-country skiing. This is a great activity for beginners--if you can walk, you can cross-country ski! You don’t need lessons, unlike the more challenging downhill skiing. Ellen got into the swing of it really quickly. She glides across the flat terrain, propelling herself forward with her poles as she moves her legs.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/fe79ad7bf0dc93404a080ae8eb9d7aa0/f4e54aa2c9929a8a-65/s540x810/ec0c8d7e194ab37023b07268f6dd73da72a20aa0.jpg)
It’s strenuous exercise, but it appears that Ellen is still cold!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/fbae7783de324775732c5ed2987915e4/f4e54aa2c9929a8a-ef/s540x810/2e116d899c1188623883f858072397376155d017.jpg)
She gets her hot cocoa in a mug, too, with a big dollop of whipped cream and a candy cane!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c2fea093d2c58ae3d4b9df6218be0941/f4e54aa2c9929a8a-32/s540x810/651916ba169467755934c1fa321f919f4e337015.jpg)
Willa and her little sister Evelyn have already been sledding with their parents and older sisters, but they got bored and scampered off to build a snowman while the rest of their family continued sledding. But that becomes far less exciting when they see Grace handing out cups to customers.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/74ee41817b3765be16415e1538cb077a/f4e54aa2c9929a8a-dd/s540x810/285f1b9336d2bee66120f010e2d5341886fa9a4f.jpg)
They run over to see what’s good. They don’t have any money, but Grace lets them each take a cookie anyway, because they’re so cute and plucky.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/22d6db23f4706d01f04507eff80013a2/f4e54aa2c9929a8a-eb/s540x810/b446e0cff561619dd8dfba64be265197cbe12335.jpg)
These are chocolate cookies sprinkled with a bit of “snow”, actually powdered sugar.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/32ee96e66012f0f4f77c4315966355ee/f4e54aa2c9929a8a-b3/s540x810/bd7527cc1cb26bf92b667c4bd0853db0fa16ea9c.jpg)
The snacks give them just enough energy for the best activity of all--snowball fights!!!

GRIM! I saw on your pole you ply dnd, i recently got accepted to join a party, do you have any general tips? Mostly for making a character, esoecially as a begginer
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/74776e17848f2654d64d931e756ad02c/6db26648d1974c7a-bb/s1280x1920/f5c609a4930960e7cd83d6c25901893edbb3f865.jpg)
I have the starter set btw
SO! Bad news! This is actually my very first character and party lol! I've been very lucky to have a great party of experienced players and a great dm! They've all been very patient with me! Take everything I say with a grain of salt! First and most importantly! Make sure you're with a party and a dm who respects you! DND is a collaboration but your character is still your character and your autonomy matters! There's nuance to this! But make sure you feel respected! A good example of this and why I feel lucky is 1. when I first built my character I knew I really wanted to be a little kitty of some sort and I knew that some DMs didn't really like to go past the baseline ethnicities of whatever edition or set or whatever they are playing! Mine was all like: "Hell yeah! Do you want to be a tabaxi or an awakened cat?" and its like! That's so cool of him! But also if he didn't, because remember I am a very beginner player so it would be a lot on the dm to help me keep my shit together and be playing an ethnicity who may need extra attention for stats and stuff I could get my little sulk in but I would probably like pick a tiefling or something lol! The other one was 2. he is very very strict that nothing can happen to your character while you are not there to witness it. Your character cannot die in a session you are not in. I've heard a lot of horror stories, its a mutual respect thing! just look for green flags and watch out for red ones! Secondly! LITERALLY just pick what calls to you and worry about the logistics later. It may be that you don't know enough to know what calls to you like I did, in that case maybe find a trusted friend who has experience in dnd to help guide you along to what would be a good fun fit or do some research beforehand! And don't be afraid to ask questions of your party members and dm! If you play video games you're already off to a better start than I am! Dnd is a lot like a video game, especially a video game in multiplayer mode. Don't worry too much about like characterization or anything up front, pick some basics and the rest will come to you! Its not like writing a story where you have to know everything up front! The story is already written for you lol, its out of your hands, your character will flesh themselves out as time goes on! Also if you've got literally any equipment you're already doing better than me! (Also love the Frankie!)

Preparing for a Hike
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/9c7d3d84fd7ca94677c1131898b8ebde/53c0bc1326aa0d4f-a6/s540x810/bbf9599a8c2c42e54a58a9bcf547d6057f21a526.jpg)
Hiking difficulty varies greatly depending on terrain and trail conditions. Proper preparation ensures safety, endurance, and enjoyment, especially for beginners. Seasoned hikers consider various factors when preparing.
Preparation starts with understanding the hike conditions and specific environments. Hiking at low altitudes differs significantly from high altitudes, where reduced oxygen levels and air pressure may necessitate supplemental oxygen for improved breathing. Extra water helps with hydration in such environments. Weather considerations are equally important, as they influence timing and gear choices. For example, snowy or rainy seasons require specialized equipment like waterproof boots and insulated clothing, whereas warm, dry conditions allow for lighter gear and clothing options.
Careful trail selection during planning is crucial to gather essential details such as distance, length, and difficulty, allowing hikers to plan their expedition based on their fitness level. In planning duration, pro hikers recommend adding extra time beyond the estimated to account for unexpected challenges like steep terrains as well as snack and rest breaks.
Understanding travel logistics is also crucial, as most trails have different start and end points. This knowledge helps hikers arrange transportation, private or public, depending on accessibility options and regulations.
Fitness preparation contributes to a successful hike by preventing injuries, sore joints, and discomforts during the trek. Hikers— both novices and experts— benefit from a training routine that begins at least four to twelve weeks before the hike. This time allows them to get in shape, become comfortable with gear and belongings, and build endurance. Training should target various body parts, including the heart, legs, and core. Cardiovascular exercises like swimming and running improve endurance, while squats, calf raises, and lunges strengthen leg muscles. For core stability and balance, strength training exercises—weight-lifting, planks, and sit-ups—are effective. Each training session should start with а warm-up.
Since hiking expeditions mainly occur in remote areas/wilderness, basic survival and navigation skills are crucial. Unexpected situations, such as being stranded due to flooding or a miscalculated trail, may arise, leaving hikers short of food or without functioning gadgets. In such cases, knowing how to start a fire, forage for food, and build a shelter can be lifesaving. Navigation skills are equally vital for survival. In addition to modern-day technologies like the GPS, hikers should be familiar with primitive techniques, including using the sun or stars for direction and recognizing natural landmarks, as well as standard methods like map reading and using a compass.
As the hiking day approaches, having all the essentials in place is key to a smooth experience. After selecting the right backpack, pack crucial items like water, food, rain gear, collapsible trekking poles, sunscreen, and sunglasses. The duration of the hike determines the quantity and type of supplies to carry, with longer treks requiring more detailed planning and additional gear like a sleeping bag. While it's tempting to bring extras, pack light with only necessary supplies to prevent fatigue during long treks.
Hikers should also prioritize safety in their preparation. They should ensure they charge all gadgets, have a backup power source, and use personal safety devices like whistles. Familiarizing themselves with potential wilderness hazards and their mitigation strategies, having а well-stocked first aid kit, and having basic medical knowledge like CPR can be lifesaving in emergencies. Whenever possible, hikers should trek with trusted companions, share their itinerary with their contacts, and have emergency service numbers ready.
Finally, learning trail etiquette is essential for an enjoyable experience and environmental sustainability. The leave-no-trace rule emphasizes proper waste disposal, being on designated paths, respecting wildlife, being mindful of fire safety, and showing consideration for fellow hikers.

How to Get Started with Skiing: A Beginner's Guide
Skiing is a thrilling winter sport that allows you to glide across snow-covered mountains while enjoying breathtaking views. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to improve your skills, skiing offers an exciting challenge. In this blog post, we’ll break down the basics of how to ski and the steps you need to take to get started.
Getting the Right Equipment Before hitting the slopes, it's essential to have the proper gear. You’ll need skis, ski boots, ski poles, and appropriate clothing for the cold weather. If you’re just starting, you can rent equipment at most ski resorts. However, as you progress, it might be worth investing in your own gear for a better fit and more comfort.
The most important part is finding skis that are the right length and stiffness for your skill level. Ski boots should fit snugly but comfortably to provide support. Ski poles are used for balance and help with timing turns.
Learn the Basic Skiing Stance Once you have your gear, learning the correct stance is crucial. Stand with your knees slightly bent, and keep your body weight balanced over your skis. Your feet should be shoulder-width apart, and your arms should be relaxed and slightly bent at your sides. This posture will provide stability and control when you start moving.
Master the Snowplow Technique For beginners, one of the first techniques to learn is the snowplow. This technique involves positioning the tips of your skis close together while keeping the tails wide apart. This "V" shape helps you slow down and stop, giving you more control as you navigate the slopes. To practice, start on a gentle slope and gradually move down while focusing on keeping your skis in the snowplow position.
Learn How to Turn Turning is a vital skill to master to control your speed and direction. To turn, shift your weight toward the ski in the direction you want to go. For example, to turn left, lean slightly on your left ski, while turning right means leaning on your right ski. Start by practicing small turns on flat ground or a beginner slope to get comfortable with the movements.
Practice Stopping Stopping is a critical skill to learn, especially for beginners. Once you’re moving, you can stop by using the snowplow technique or turning perpendicular to the slope. Practice stopping at various speeds to build your confidence and ensure that you can control your speed at all times.
