Did you know that the Doe that disappears at the end of Episode 4 is the spirit of Rachel that moves on once her body is found by Max and Chloe? This theory has later been confirmed by the developersšŸ¦‹

I'm sure half of the fandom will be in flames at the reveal or subtle nod to who the chapter 2 killer actually is this episode.
But don't expect me NOT to celebrate when we find out for sure it's not Eden.

Ok but why did Leeta specifically say hi to Dorian? This has been stuck in my head for weeks.
The most obvious answer would be that she met him while EXU trio were in Zephrah. The reason Iā€™m not sure about this is because sheā€™s never had much (or any) reaction to Fearne (or the other way around). Though, itā€™s possible that her and Dorian had a private talk during the Zephrah visit.
Itā€™s also possible the she specifically said hi to him because she saw him in passing during the Zephrah visit but didnā€™t see him when Bells Hells were there.
Or Leeta picked up on Orymā€™s crush and was doing some big sister teasing.
But hereā€™s the thing: I donā€™t believe in simple answers. I have crazy thoughtā€¦
What if Leeta met Dorian before he left the Silken Squall?
Timeline wise, it would make sense. Leeta became the Master of Defence six years ago. Dorian had already been away from home for a year before meeting the Crown Keepers. So there would be a 4-5 year timeframe where they couldā€™ve met each other.
Itā€™s possible that at one point in time, the Voice went to the Silken Squall to have a meeting with their rulers. Naturally, her right hand would be there as well. Maybe sometime during the visit, they talked.
This is a huge stretch but the odds of this being the case are not a 0.

the treasury has been ordered as of today to cease production of the one-cent piece
there is a longstanding popular argument against the penny, which is almost exclusively about the cost of making pennies relative to their face value (they cost more than 1Ā¢ to make, so the mint loses money on every penny struck). the problem of brassage (which i here use imprecisely to mean the cost of coining, rather than specifically mint fees) is very old, old enough that it's more or less contiguous with the cash economy in the west: there is tension between the practical needs of common people engaged in small-scale exchange & the cost to minting authorities to supply the small coinage those transactions require. i was interested in this problem as a medieval monetary policy question; despite the idea that monetary policy as an active matter was invented in the modern era & roughly coincides with the death of the gold standard, there were common debasements & reinforcements (that is, decreases & increases, respectively, to the bullion content of coins) for various reasonsā€”mainly raising royal funds or improving currency circulation, but it varied. currency is never & has never been static, or the neutral condensation of exchange, or whatever; it's a political instrument. so who cares about the penny? let's save a little money. the problem that i see is that there is no initiative to adjust prices to make the penny obsolete at the cash register. the abolition of the penny in this haphazard way will result in a shortage of coinage that will affect people who are making small transactions in cash, which is why, incidentally, debasements were sometimes reasonably popular policy: people need money to do stuff. the argument that people no longer need physical cash to do stuff relies on the assumption that everyone is already receiving formal financial services from a bank & can just use a credit (or debit, but let's be real here) card, or i guess if you're a certain kind of weirdo the idea that we should all be using cryptocurrency. many people do not have access to these kinds of financial services, or choose to avoid consumer credit products for compelling personal reasons; also, these services interpolate another agent into exchange, which usually doesn't matter but sometimes matters a lot (consider, e.g., mastercard's position on pornography, or police access to bank statements), while cash transactions remain as a rule secure, anonymous, & independent. i have no emotional attachment to our particular coinage structure but if you are going to make it functionally impossible for people to pay with cash that's a genuine fucking problem?

hey so you know how devin kelley said she and oliver have a scene as kim and buck this season??
...yeah i DEFINITELY think we're going to get an uno reverse of the crashed date from 7x05, where buck and tommy are going to be out and about and run into eddie and kim, which leads to some...Awkward Conversations šŸ‘€šŸ‘€
(bonus points if we see eddie ask buck to babysit chris cause he's going on a date with marisol, only for buck to say no caues he has his own plans, and then they run into eddie with kim. the DRAMA)
((double bonus points if we get an šŸ“¢šŸ“¢ EDDIE šŸ“¢šŸ“¢ thats even louder than the buck heard round the world))
y'all this is gonna be MESSY and i cannot WAIT

Before the Storm not only confirmed my belief that the storm was Rachel's revenge, but also sparked the flame in my belief that both Rachel and Chloe have powers. Rachel having some kind of power over the elements and Chloe having some sort of reoccurring prophetic dreams.
During the dinner scene in episode 2, Chloe and James get into an argument about him meeting and kissing the mysterious woman the day prior. During the big confrontation where everyone but Rachel is standing up arguing with each other, the camera zooms in on Rachel, framing her dissociating face alongside the candles in the centre of the table. The voices of the three other characters are drowned out and muffled while we see the flames on the candles lengthen as the ringing in her ear gets louder. I believe that this is giving us extra insight into how Rachel jumpstarted the forest fire in the previous episode.
Chloe's second dream sequence shows her Rachel engulfed in flames. I believe this could be a reference to Icarus. Rachel got involved with many dangerous people; Frank, Nathan, and Jefferson. Even in BtS she faced off against Damon Marrick and almost died because of it. She eventually flys too close to Nathan and Jefferson and gets burned.
There are other things that I feel I could say but with the release of double exposure coming out I don't think my theory of Max's death being foretold by one of Chloe's dreams would be appreciated lol

Spoilers for Onyx Storm under the cut :
Well these are my thoughts all in all, this will not be very full of sense:
I liked it.
Itā€™s not my favorite, that is still Fourth Wing, but itā€™s not bad, I enjoyed it.
The things I liked:
-Xaden being a certified lover boy
-Violet learning to be a leader
-RIDOC.
-Garrick, Aaric, Sloane and Dainā€™s developments
-The theory about second signets of the marked ones coming true
-Theophanie
The things I hated:
-as always, RY using modern language
-Xadenā€™s mother scenes, they made absolutely no sense
-the worldbuilding was once again rushed and not thought out completely
-it was kinda fan servicy, what with Imogen & Garrick(donā€™t get me wrong, Iā€™ve BEEN shipping those two), Mira & Drake, Sloane & Dain crumbs
-i kinda felt Xadenā€™s characterization was odd in this one, but I canā€™t put my finger on it
-Trager dying
The questions I have:
-who was Theophanie answering to? Is it Naolin?
-who turned at the end? Was it both Garrick and Bodhi or just Bodhi?
-what is Imogenā€™s second signet?
-what in the world happened in those twelve hours for Tairn to need a cycle of rest?
-what is the deal with Brennanā€™s rune scar?
-is Sgaeyl with Xaden and if so, how is that gonna work?
-did Rhi, Sawyer, Ridoc, Cat and Maren survive?
-are Xadenā€™s half brothers gonna be important?
And a whole slew of others I canā€™t remember right now.

So due to my AmberPrice hyperfixation acting up again & the lack of new content I clicked open the EARLIEST AP fanfic on AO3 --- She was My Angel
It was posted on Feb 2015. That's right, Before the Storm wasn't even written & decided yet. The original Life is Strange wasn't even fully released yet!!
So how well did they write Amberprice?
My comment went like this. And they replied after 9 years!!
Tumblr media
Hella amazing. Her Rachel is so much better than a some of the Rachels even after BTS had came out. I'd say it's even a good AU Rachel on par with the BTS game Rach.
I also read another early 2015 AP, was pretty good until drunk Chloe shot Rachel and killed her ā˜ ļø based on a fan theory.
This would've been a Hella plot twist in the original... Amberprice could've been forever changed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ā€œäŗŗē”Ÿč‹„åŖå¦‚åˆč§ā€ -- "If only life was like that first meeting"
ā€œäø€åƒäøŖäŗŗēœ¼äøęœ‰äø€åƒäøŖ哈姆雷ē‰¹ā€ -- "There're a thousand Hamlets in a thousands' eyes"
I have a semi translated Chinese AP ficlet somewhere and one day hopefully I'll finish that. AP really inspires me to create but I'm just too occupied at the moment to take more steps.
One day.

Did Rachel's father abuse her?
Today about something darker... Remember when Rachel said "And my dad will definitely punish me with..." to Chloe? Ā It's odd that she can't bring herself to say her punishment out loud.
And she knows how to cover Chloe's black eye with ease. Is it because of her love of makeup?
Maybe Rachel kept that photo of her and her dad in her bag because it was the last time she ever felt safe with him? It also explains why she wanted to run away so badly...

So uh. With Faulkner's followers either dead or abandoning him, leaving him alone in the Grand Aquifer, I'm reminded of a problem Elgin bought up to Paige in Chapter 35:
ELGIN:
Weā€™re in a difficult position. We all know that.
Hiding out here at the Grace was the right thing to do - for a time. Itā€™s kept us safe from the law.Ā
But itā€™s not sustainable. This isnā€™t a place for the living.
And the Lingers are going to keep shelling up and down the length of the coast.Ā
They might not be aiming for us, but weā€™re still exposed out here.
PAIGE speaks up.
PAIGE:
Weā€™ve been excavating, Elgin. You know that. Weā€™ve made good progress.
If we can get underground, weā€™ll be protected.
ELGIN:
(Scornfully)
Yes, weā€™ve been excavating. Digging into poisoned soil, breathing in haunted air
Do you really think we can go on like this, Widow?
That shuts up PAIGE - who of course does not believe that they can go on like this.
ELGIN:
(Taking a breath)
North is the sea-channel, west is the polluted lands.
So the proposal is that we send the scouts back south. Through the hills, sticking close to the border.
See if we can find a place of refuge.
PAIGE:
(Growing frustrated)
But thereā€™s nowhere, Elgin.Ā
We already tried this.
Nowhere thatā€™s safe, and hidden, and undiscovered, and big enough for sixty people or more.
Every inch of this country is claimed by people or itā€™s been broken by gods.
ELGIN:
(Protesting)
We know that, Widow.
We donā€™t want to find an undiscovered place.
The proposal is that we find a hidden sanctuary close to the waterā€™s edge. Somewhere thatā€™s still active, still lived-in.
Some sects of the Trawler-man are out this way, we know, but there are gods of stone and earth lurking in the hills. Entire false-faith communities in the deep caves.
Once we find somewhere suitable - we empty it out, then we occupy it.
The implication back then was wiping out an illegal community, which later we find out the attempts to do so don't succeed and backfire on them but it's still a very real problem for them that they can't keep living in the polluted lands. Faulkner *could* give them the Grand Aquifer. I mean the Grace, the first home of the Woundtree's people was Bellwethers after it had been wiped out by Faulkner summoning a tide, so it would feel fitting.
Something something Paige creating and growing her movement in a place Faulkner has destroyed. Creation follows destruction, life after death. Can life grow from poisoned soil, can you break free of what you've become and the weight you've accumulated, does life owe you the chance to be someone better, will Faulkner give instead of take. What's the opposite of a sacrifice.

I feel like people donā€™t talk about Chloeā€™s prophetic dream stuff enough (I know why itā€™s because half this fan base hates bts)
#but as weā€™ve established yesterday night Iā€™m before the stormā€™s biggest fan so fuck you im talking about it#if you believe the Rachel had powers but didnā€™t know it theory itā€™s so interesting too#cus they share that together#Maxā€™s powers are something so obvious they of course sheā€™d known them immediately#but with something like dreams with cryptic meanings and imagery that predict the future#or nature getting influenced by your emotions#itā€™s so much easier for it to slip under the radar#especially for Chloe because she had no one she couldā€™ve talked to about them anyways#before the storm makes a point to show how isolated she felt itā€™s why she clung so hard to Rachel#so who the hell would she talk to about them especially when theyā€™re so easy to dismiss as not actually prophetic or just coincidences#did she ever stop having them?#do you think she maybe gets them sometimes post the storm if you sacrifice Arcadia bay?#even her dreams that had some good stuff in it being predicted always ended up being nightmares#do you think she ever just had good prophetic dreams?#do you think if it ever clicked with her sheā€™d be paranoid to even fall asleep cus theyā€™d already make her paranoid enough to-#-think about it they mean anything?#did she ever dream of storms and butterflies and deer at any point?#do you think maybe that day in the bathroom before max saved her one of her last thoughts was remembering Maxā€™s text in that one dream#where she says sheā€™ll see her when sheā€™s dead#itā€™s so fun to think about oufh before the storm I adore you sm#snails ramblings

out of all the annoyances of Nutdealer misgenderings, applying he/him to Chara and Kris is wild? Not only are both names, like feminine, but also they have both only been identified as they/them very clearly.
Both Dreemurr humans were around the societies that used they/them for them for years. If Friskā€™s pronouns were any/any, then that might make sense, who knows. But the bizarre pattern of making the Dreemurr humans boys while having Frisk be female is really weird! Again, ā€œKrisā€ and ā€œCharaā€ are both girl names irl, while Frisk straight up isnā€™t a name.
The only fanwork Iā€™ve encountered that decided that ā€œyeah Frisk should be a guy and Chara should be a girlā€ (neither of which are canon (actually Frisk might be a he/they, who knows)!) was a Deltarune character swap AU thing where it turned out that they were Krisā€™s parents but Frisk murdered Chara and so the Dreemurs adopted Kris. They still made Kris a guy, though.
Anyways this just lead me to think that the infamous Deltarune fanfic Umriss should have bent Krisā€™ gender femwards rather than malewards, especially since the author didnā€™t even have the decency to let Kriselle spawn horrific abominations. They kept Noelle attracted to Susie, and I feel like she seems like a Predatory Lesbianā„¢ļø instead of some cringy doe who maybe wants a threesome or to be a swinger or something, but is too much of a loser to actually ask and so is either waiting on her crush or her wife to discuss it.
(Anyways, if Krisā‰ Chara then probably humans in the Nutdealer multiverse are hermaphrodites or something (we know that ghosts are dxab (designated nonbinary(X-gender at birth) based on Mad Mew Mew being referred to as they/them when they were Mad Dummy). If they are then itā€™d just be weird coincidence, or maybe split reincarnation or Chara somehow managing to convince the underground that all humans are nonbinary because they got a 20 on the associated persuasion check). This could also play into the theory that Ralsei exists as Krisā€™ ideal self, including gender, if humans are nonbinary by default. This has the bonus of upsetting everyone)
