It's time to overanalyze the moment when baby Blitz tells Stolas about his dream to run his own business because WOW the visual storytelling is just peak.

Blitz starts talking about it with his feet firmly on the ground and a confident smile on his face.

And then as he starts to describe his vision for the future, he climbs. Talk about a visual metaphor!

Mid-story, he struggles a little, but he's confident and determined. We start seeing little Stolas looking up with an expression of absolute awe.

And when he says this- declares the freedom he'll someday achieve- he triumphantly pushes himself up by the branch and smiles proudly. Look at Stolas still frozen in shock and admiration.

Blitz fully stands up on the branch, proud and POWERFUL, joyfully buoyed by his dream.

Stolas's reaction? Well he starts to question the details of the plan a bit (skeptical eyebrows), but his face is still SO affectionate and impressed. His eyes are still wide, and he's smiling sweetly.

Stolas sees that Blitz is someone remarkable- defiantly, proudly, and joyfully reaching for freedom in a society where people's roles are kind of . . . set- Stolas is especially restricted, but everyone is fixed in the hierarchy to some extent. But Blitz dares to climb, and Stolas LOVES that from the beginning.

No wonder it's so important to Stolas later on that regardless of what happens with their relationship, Blitz has a way to continue running his business and being himself.

he started off already risking being sent back to his dead body to protect baby binghe the best he could on his first meeting and then continued to do so once the ooc shackles came off, made sure he felt loved and safe and at home on cqm, gave him every advantage he could think of (and then wondered why binghe got out of the abyss 2 yrs early, honey...), but bc those scum villain blinders were on so tight, he doesnt accept that he (the man shen yuan inside the character shen qingqiu) can change his own path enough to not be killed, and plans his own death accordingly bc he wont ever fight against binghe again if he can help it, i just...

this man loves binghe so much that he couldnt even conceive of a world in which binghe loves him back - and thats not just the comphet olympics in his brain talking, sy genuinely believes he's unlovable and only maybe sort of likeable by his fellow peak lords, and part of that comes from being forced into a scum villains role and not knowing the bigger picture behind sqq's actions (not even touching on how sy barely saw the entire cast of pidw as people until binghe actually looked hurt to him), but the rest was already preprogrammed before he transmigrated, and i want to know who hurt him so bad - bc all sy could imagine is that the whole world should love binghe, bc thats howmuch sy loves him the story is supposed to go, but all he could imagine for himself was gratitude at best and his demise at worst, until the very moment that it becomes clear that lbh has done everything, fucking EVERYTHING, to get sqq to love him back and i just SCREAMS

i cant imagine that sy would just let binghe go if he should ever decide to love someone else, the possession goes both ways with these two, and sy would fight tooth and nail to keep binghe for himself

Actually it’s late and I need to be asleep HOWEVER I AM HAVING THOUGHTS about Rumbelle. I feel like we’ve all just collectively glossed over the fact that Rum and Belle were separated for 30 years. That’s a long time dude. And no-no-no- they weren’t just separated. He believed, fully, wholeheartedly believed, that she was dead. FOR THIRTY YEARS. He mourned her, he grieved for her, he kept his love for her locked away inside for all those days and nights. And then Belle, sweet, sweet Belle. She spends a bit of time adventuring and getting out there and good for her! I love that for her! She deserved that. And then she gets trapped. How long do you think she was in Regina’s castle, stuck there wondering, will she ever see him again? And then she is amnesiac for 28 years. Do you think, when she woke up from the curse, do you think she thought for a moment that she was dreaming- that she was still in that little cell, locked up and alone and thinking of the man she loved? Do you think she’d thought of him so often that when she woke from the curse and saw him there, that she thought he was just another dream? And then the mental fog lifted and she realised oh- oh- he looks… different. His curse has lifted- who lifted his curse? But does that matter? Does it even matter? Because she’s been holding her love for him inside for so long and she just has to let it out, she has to tell him no matter the consequences. She finally found her way back to him, she won’t let that go, and Rumple? Sweet, grieving Rumple, he hears her say that she loves him and it’s like oh. He can let himself believe it this time. Not many people are lucky enough to get a second chance but he not only has that, she’s essentially been bought back to life, it’s like she’s been reanimated and given another go at it. She was dead, not physically but in his eyes she was dead, and suddenly she’s not anymore- and she’s with him, alive and saying that she loves him. And it’s so true in her eyes and in her hands, in the way she touches him so gently, in how she’s not afraid to be with him. To be soft with him.

Ugh it’s just… 30 years, dude. 30 years. For some people that’s half a lifetime.

something so hauntological about watching mash season 3 knowing how it ends...none of the characters know henry's never going to make it home, the actors all found out in real time. but the narrative knows how this ends, and the narrative is waiting with an open mouth. so the narrative has henry prefigure his own death throughout the season. in o.r. when hawkeye reassures him one day you're gonna have to go back and die in your bed in bloomington, henry says that he's done that several times. he complains in private charles lamb that everything in this country disappears except me (untrue) followed by boy, would i like to wake up some morning, look down and find myself gone (true). when he gets trapped in the wreckage of the latrine in bombed he knocks twice for "dead" rather than three times for "alive." then there's the scene in the consultant where he soaks in the pool, calling it heaven but says the water could be just a titch warmer (burning burning burning), avoiding conversation with frank by submerging himself underwater. henry spends the whole season unknowingly rehearsing his impending death. he goes around camp trying on other people's deaths for size, haunting the narrative before he's even out of it.
