Hey anyone else remember the episode of Adventure Time called "Evergreen" where it's revealed that the original bearer of the crown to whom it was "forever linked" was actually a neglected child (and prior reincarnation of Finn) named Gunter trying to be like his wizard father?? Anyone??? Because I had fully forgotten until re-watching the episode last night and I'm losing my mind about the implications.
(This episode is also a devastating look at how a mistreated child unconsciously learns that he must treat himself and those he has power over as cruelly as he has been treated. Adventure Time has so much sadness and madness, y'all.)

I'm excited for the next episode of fionna and cake#fionna and cake#also the gemstones are eyeballs stolen from a lava elephant that looks like tree trunks#tree trunks#I think there's a good chance that elephant is still alive and wants its eyes back#also the Thematic implications of the name Evergreen matter a lot to me

I’m so ill about Order of the Stick right now. I saw some art of it on my dash a bit ago and what was an untouched-for-years obsession has crashed back into my brain with all the grace of a derailed train. A part of me is frustrated at myself for having ANOTHER niche interest which I cannot share with the average person without looking insane, but a larger part of me is thrilled to return to the series with a better understanding of storytelling so I can truly understand just how damn clever this series is. Like genuinely, this comic started in 2003 and feels more unique and funny in its parody than half the Dnd parody stuff I see today. I don’t even play 3.5 edition! It’s just that solid!!!
I want to write a more in depth analysis but I’m not full caught up yet and my brain is still recovering from remembering that Redcloak is a character who exists and I love him he’s such a good villain holy crap he sucks so bad but also I think he could use a win. Jury’s out on whether he deserves that win considering it’s probably bad for everyone else but also I hope he gets it.
I forget if his people lose control of the city later on but I kind of hope they don’t. Sorry Azure City characters I genuinely love you but also I think the goblins should keep their city and everyone else can just suck it actually

#datv spoilers#like not to compare it beegeethree but i liked how you could nudge the characters towards the Ledge or away from it in certain ways.#like their paths could take negative or positive paths based on the Love you gave them. anddddd i saw that w em. and harding a bit#but i was missing it from everyone else.#like there was a choice yes but…. idk… we got to see the consequences w emmrich.#you can let him avoid his devastating fear or face it head on. and you can Feel the consequences of that thru manfred. how joyous emmrich i#when we revive manfred vs. how melancholy he is when he becomes a lich.#even more so in his romance. when he grapples with the idea that he WILL lose rook and he WILL mourn them. FOREVER.#you can help him embrace that fear. and he’s all the better for it.#not telling anyone what to pick tho. Just that there are consequences.#im not trying to incur ascended astarion discourse.#i just like that there are consequences and u can help him past a burden.#like with harding letting her embrace her anger instead of telling her to push it aside… and she blossoms for it!
