🐍Blond Bombshell Snake King🐍
Ominis knew he had a reputation to keep up, but not what everyone thought it'd be entirely. Although he came from a family of dark witches & wizards, the few things that Ominis even considered keeping up were his manner, his pride & sharp dress sense. True, he was blind, but his wand allowed him to see everything like anyone else could & with great detail when it came to clothes. He was THE pickiest of guys when it came to outfits because of his heritage, but that was understandable. Salazar, for as dark as he was, still had a sense of style about him & that wasn't lost to Ominis. He'd at least do the founder right by dressing well like the rest of the professors, if a bit more high end like Headmaster Black did.
Those that were lucky enough to see him out in town? Oh, the jealousy among the men was higher than any game in the world. Why? Ominis left thousands of ladies aching in his wake, but not out of hatred... no. Ominis' other four senses were sharpened to make up for his lost eye sight & as such, he had the BEST smelling cologne that money could buy. A lot of what he had were actually gifts bestowed upon him by the Sallow twins, especially Sebastian. Whatever Sebastian couldn't wear because it either gave him a headache, made him break out, or didn't mix with him very well, Ominis wound up getting. Needless to say that Sebastian was also left a bit jealous about all that Ominis got out of him because it smelled better than Honeydukes most of the time! In the end, though, Sebastian's jealousy was put to rest since it was going to good use & Ominis loved every single bottle of it that he got. For the few that he did buy, they were the most expensive of scents, but, in Ominis' opinion, his family didn't deserve their riches for hurting the innocent.
Ominis didn't keep those riches to himself though. He spoiled his girl like the queen she was to him & bought her whatever outfit, perfume, shoes, parasol & hairstyle she wanted. Granted, he kept the bills paid in full as well, but his girl deserved to be treated right & nobody in his family was going to ruin it for him! Although she teased him at times & made him burn with a fever when he didn't want to be in such a mood, he couldn't help but turn into a kitty around her.
Those that saw Ominis with his lady out on the town were left in shock because none of them had ever known a Gaunt to be... nice. He was even nice enough to the other ladies in town to leave them in tears. Whether they were pureblood or not, even the muggles were treated well by him at his job. Word did get back to Hogwarts about him on the daily too, but the professors couldn't help but smile & sometimes cry over seeing it. Ominis was truly the sweetest of the heirs, sweeter than everything in Honeydukes & he deserved the world for finally redeeming the dark house of Slytherin. 💚🐍

In love with you - part 3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Powder x fem!reader
Warnings: friends to lovers, SMUT, kissing, fluff
Synopsis: Powder had been your best friend for years, the two of you met when she was running from the cops when she and her brothers broke into and blew up an apartment in Piltover and you helped them escape. What you never imagined, is that the love of your life was always right there in front of you…
A/N: This is a fic about Powder from the alternate universe, it has nothing to do with Jinx.
🌟 English is not my first language, so I apologize if there are any mistakes.
Part 1 Part 2

You went after Powder who was leaving the last drop, “hey Powder, wait a minute”, you called her and she stopped looking at you with a frown and crossed her arms. “Look, I'm sorry okay? I should have told you, I know you're mad but…”, you didn't have time to finish because she interrupted you, “I'm not just mad, I'm upset too… why...Why her Y/n?”. She actually wanted to ask, “Why anyone else and not me?”, but she held herself back, she wasn’t ready for that, maybe she was too scared for that.
What would you tell her? That you still loved Cait? Maybe you did, or did you think so? Would you say that you were confused and didn't really know how you felt, or would you just say that you couldn't be alone for too long? Yes, your best friend knew all of this, she knew about your potential to easily give yourself to anyone because... because you had this fear of ending up alone, this fear of not being good for anyone, the fucking fear that no one would ever be able to love you.
“I went out with her last week, we went out to dinner and then we went to her house, it’s just… a casual encounter is no big deal.” If you knew how you were breaking Powder’s heart into a million little pieces at that moment, you would definitely condemn yourself.
“It’s not a big deal?”, she said perplexedly opening her arms, “Y/n we’re talking about the girl who cheated on you, she hurt your feelings, if you don’t remember how you felt at the time I do, I comforted you… your whole life I was the one who was by your side and not her, I’m the person who would never leave you alone, never”.
You approached her and held her hands, “I know and that’s why I’m so grateful to have you in my life, you’re my best friend Pow Pow, I love you and I don’t know what I would do without you.” She squeezed your hands in hers, knowing that you loved her in some way meant a lot to her. “I just want to see you happy, I don't like Caitlyn sorry honey, but I don't like her especially after what she did to you.” You started to wonder, “why is it so hard to find someone like Powder?”, someone like her would never hurt you, she was wonderful, but she was your best friend.
“You know Y/n, you deserve someone who likes you just the way you are, someone who knows how to value you, someone who knows how lucky they are to have you, you know someone who… who wakes up every fucking day and says “holy shit, I’m dating Y/n and no one else in the world is that lucky only me”, do you understand that?”.
You felt like crying. Powder always made you feel special. She was the only person who made you see your own worth. You held back your tears and pulled her into a tight hug. You felt her wrap her arms around your waist and hold you close. She was so close to your face, she just needed to move a little more and her lips would be on yours.
You pulled away from her, “Thank you for that, sometimes I need someone to remind me of that.”
“Yes, I know… and I’ll always be here to make sure you don’t forget.” She smiled and caressed your cheek with her thumb. fuck she wanted so badly to drag you to the dark corner and kiss you right now, maybe you would kiss her back, maybe you two would reveal your feelings, then she would take you to her house and taste you, maybe she would…
“Oh there you are,” Ekko’s voice took her out of her reverie and you looked at him - who you soon noticed was sad - Powder rolled her eyes and put her hands on her waist, he always appeared to interrupt the moment and that was already making her irritated.
Ekko approached you and held out his hand handing you a piece of paper folded in half. “Someone wants me to give this to you,” he said, his voice still dejected, he didn’t look at Powder once. You took the paper and frowned, “what is this?” you asked. “I have no idea, a guy asked me to give this to you, and before you ask, I don’t know who the guy is either, I’ve never seen him around here before.”
You were a little confused, curious and at the same time worried that this could be something serious, but Powder knew exactly what it was, some guy at the bar flirting with you and wanting to buy you a drink, how she wished she could tell all of them that you were not available because you were hers. “Well, good night girls,” Ekko walked away from you two and continued on his way with his head down.
You ignored the note for a second and looked at your friend, “You dumped him, right?” You were referring to Ekko. She shrugged, “Sort of… but he wasn’t like this when we got here.” You curled your lips, “So what happened?” She had a hunch that maybe he noticed her advances on you, but she couldn’t tell you that.
“You really don’t like him, do you?” you asked curiously. “He’s just my friend, the fact that I went out with him once doesn’t change anything… wouldn’t you go out with any of your friends?” You didn’t quite understand the question, you didn’t know if she wanted you to answer or if it was just a rhetorical question. In fact this was just a way to know what you would say even though she was afraid of the answer.
You thought for a second, you never went out with any of your friends, maybe because you liked them just as friends, maybe you just needed to think a little more or just look at Powder right in front of you before saying what you said. “I wouldn’t go on a date with any of my friends, those things rub the friendship”.
Powder felt a tightness in her heart, maybe after that the best thing to do was for her to try to get over you and have you just as her best friend, but how would that be possible when you were her dream? And every day that passed, this passion for you only grew and took over her every second she spent by your side. “Well, I guess it depends on how both feel about each other,” she said finally.
“Yeah, maybe… I mean… no,” you closed your eyes, getting confused about your words, “I don’t think it’s that simple… anyway, let’s see what’s here?” you said, opening the piece of paper in your hands as quickly as possible, ignoring your heart beating erratically once again. Of course you blamed it on your anxiety to read what was written on the note Ekko handed you.
You unfolded the paper and Powder approached you to read what was written, you read it out loud, “Hey pretty girl, I've been eyeing you all night, can I buy you a drink?”, you were holding back from laughing, Powder on the other hand, wasn't very comfortable with it, “if you accept, I'm the guy sitting alone at the table on the right corner, I'll wait for you”.
You looked at your friend and laughed, “These guys don’t know when to stop,” she said crossing her arms. “Oh come on, you’re just jealous because I got the note and you didn’t,” you laughed, mocking her. “Pssh, as if,” she said, pushing your arm away slowly. “He might be cute,” you said, looking at the note. Powder felt her body boil with jealousy, but she held herself back. “Do you want to go back there and see if he’s still there? If he is, I won’t judge him.” As she said this, her eyes widened and she looked at you from the corner of her eyes, a chill ran down her spine, how could she have let that out loud?
You looked at her with furrowed eyebrows, “Of course not,” you said, crumpling the note and throwing it behind you somewhere. “Tonight I want to have fun with my best friend, without any disloyal ex-girlfriends or barflirts, just you and me… our sleepover, remember?” You held out your hand to her. Surely if she could, she would grab you and kiss you right now. But instead, she took your hand, intertwining her fingers with yours.
“Part three of the night: braids in your hair,” you said laughing. “Okay, you’re silly,” she said pulling you closer to her, wrapping her arms around your waist…

It's been three days since the day you went to the movies with Powder and Ekko. You've had time to think about what Powder had said about Cait and you've been ignoring her calls ever since. Today was Saturday, the day of the party in Zaun at The Last Drop. You got ahead on your academy work and told your parents that you couldn't attend their party because you had work to finish.
It was night and you were finishing getting ready for the party when your hexphone vibrated and it was a message from Cait, you read it in the notification bar,
“Hey princess, sorry to be insistent, but I'm not going to give up on you... I'm sorry for what I did to you, I can fix things, give me a chance to change everything. Please give us a second chance. Are you going to your parents' party? I hope so! I need to see you! I still love you baby, don't forget that.”
You couldn’t say it didn’t affect you. Powder was right in what she said before, but what if Cait had changed? What if she really still loved you? People make mistakes and fuck things up, but they’re also capable of change, aren’t they?
For a minute you thought you could go to your parents’ party to talk to Cait. But then you looked at the picture frame on your dresser that held a picture of you and Powder and you knew in that exact moment that she was the one you were supposed to be with tonight. You didn’t know why you felt this way, or why your heart was beating so fast inside your chest. You and Powder had been friends for years and you had been with her countless times, but tonight felt different. You didn’t know why, but you felt like you had to be with her.
˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ 𐙚 ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ 𐙚 ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ 𐙚 ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ 𐙚 ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁
You went to Powder's workshop - where you knew she would be - and found her in front of the mirror grumbling about not being able to get her eyeliner right, she didn't even notice you had come in.
“Do you need help with that?” She immediately looked in your direction and glanced at your short white layered mini skirt and your low-cut silver top that really showed off your beautiful round breasts. “Damn,” she thought.
You approached her and took the eyeliner pen from her hand, “ok, head up, eyes closed,” you said standing between her legs - she was sitting on a stool in front of the mirror - she did as you said and you held her face while you applied the eyeliner to her right eye.
She was clasping her hands together, she wanted to hold your waist, in fact she wanted you to sit on her lap while you fixed her makeup, she had dreamed about this so many times. Your soft tickle on her skin, your scent taking over the entire space, fuck she just couldn't take it anymore. Then she raised her hands and held your waist and you didn't care at all.
“Ok, I think this is good, you like it?”, you got out from between her legs and she took her hands off your waist, turning on the stool to look at herself in the mirror. “I couldn’t have done it better,” she said, admiring her eyeliner—now perfect—thanks to you.

Arriving at the party, you two joined Claggor and Mylo. “Hey, Y/n, I’m glad you came,” Mylo said, laughing awkwardly as he scratched the back of his neck. “So… do you want to dance? Or have a drink?” Before you could answer, Claggor elbowed him and then looked at Powder furtively. Mylo had irritated her, in every way, since they were kids. Of course she loved him, but to her he was a jerk and she knew he had no chance with you, so she wasn't bothered by his advances towards you. “Maybe later,” you finally replied.
You looked around and saw Gert passing by carrying a tray with drinks, your gaze met hers and she gave you a mischievous smile, you smiled back and looked down, you thought she was a very pretty girl.
After a while, Powder went to talk to Vender and you were alone for only half a minute until you heard a female voice behind you, “I thought it was impossible for a girl like you to not be accompanied, but since you're not, lucky for me then”, you turned around and came face to face with Gert. “Be careful, I might be alone for a reason,” you said smiling. “What reason?” she asked, tilting her head and looking from your lips to your eyes. “I might be a heartless lunatic who hurts everyone I come into contact with,” you joked. She curled her lips, “You’re worth the risk, doll,” she said, grabbing a strand of your hair.
˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ 𐙚 ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ 𐙚 ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ 𐙚 ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ 𐙚 ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁
While you flirted with Gert, Powder leaned against the counter and watched you smiling and letting Gert touch your arms, hair, hands... every party ended like this, you met someone, started dating that person and it wouldn't last more than three months and you would suffer from the lack of someone you didn't even like that much just to make up for the lack of self-love that you should have and didn't have or for the fear of ending up alone.
She wished didn't love you so much, she wanted to see you as just her best friend, but you were so much more than that and it hurt her every day. If you only knew that these people would never love you like she does...
Powder was so distracted looking at you that she didn't notice when Vender leaned next to her on the counter, but he was inside. "Why don't you ask her to dance?" he asked, making the blue-haired girl jump in fright. “What? No! Why would I do that?”, she said, frowning in an attempt to hide it. Vender smiled, “I know that look, you like her.” Powder’s heart could jump out of her mouth at any moment. “She’s my best friend, of course I like her,” she laughed nervously. “Powder…”, she took a deep breath, she knew there was no point in denying it, Vender knew.
“Is it that obvious?”, she asked, still looking at you. “Why don’t you tell her?”, she took her eyes off you and looked at Vender with a frown, “Are you crazy?” Vender she is my best friend, if I tell her she’ll get weird and we won’t be friends anymore, I can’t lose her.” Vender sighed, looked at you and then said, “Look Powder, if she really is your friend nothing will change that. Nothing is more important than a friendship and you not wanting to tell her that you love her for fear of losing the friendship between you proves that. But I still think she should know, you should know… she might feel the same way about you, isn’t she worth it? Isn’t she worth the risk?” Powder didn’t answer, she just remained thoughtful and looked back at you.
She thought that maybe Vender was right, it was time to tell you. And seeing Gert getting closer and closer to you encouraged her even more. “Vender, give me a drink,” she said without taking her eyes off you. Vender smiled and handed her a glass of alcohol. She drank it all in one gulp and then looked at Vender smiling, he patted her arm encouragingly, “now go talk to her…”

Really funny when someone who's not a part of a group decides to tell that group what words they can and cannot use for themselves.
Like in what world is it appropriate to look at a trans man and go, "no, actually, the word you're using that you and your group made up to explain a specific experience is weird to me. So because of that I made a new word and you all have to adopt it now! This is the appropriate term now better use it!"
Transemasculation doesn't even BEGIN to touch on the issues that transandrophobia covers. Maybe I could've seen it being useful for specific scenarios in which emasculation is the one and only compounding issue on top the transphobia?
Really this just feels like another, "hold on you stupid hysterical little girl, you don't know what you're talking about, let me handle this"
Everyone who's pushing for this is actively infantilizing any man who's trying to talk about his experience with transphobia. Actively talking over him.
Trans women shouldn't be spoken over. They should be uplifted and allowed to speak for themselves.
Trans men deserve the same right.
Hope this helps.

“What the fuck?”
At this point, you couldn’t keep count of the number of times this has happened. The glowing LED screen that featured a picturesque sight of one of your so-called closest friends dressed in a flowy, white dress, running away from the incoming crash of the wave, smiling brightly off camera, right at a bunch of other no-names you’ve never met (probably her high school friends). Your eyes start to burn as you swipe through the rest of the pictures in the carousel of continuous shots of these people at the beach.
You vividly recalled how this friend of yours was so adamant on cancelling your holiday plans two weeks ago because she came down with the “flu”, despite having scheduled them 2 months before. You knew it was a weak excuse.
Who even cancels plans because of a flu 2 weeks before an event?
You scoffed bitterly as you stalk the other girls from the profile to see when exactly they took this little beach trip of theirs, trying to understand why your friend canceled on your holiday plans but said yes to other people’s plans.
But the longer you scrolled, the longer you became sick to your stomach. You were sick of this behavior. Sick of being alone. Of being lonely.
The efforts you put into saving up for your girls’ trip with her, pulling in extra late night shifts at work and on weekends. You even rescheduled your trip back home, so you were stuck over this weekend on campus thinking you were supposed to be packing for your road trip with her that very same weekend.
If your “closest” friend didn’t want to spend the holidays with you, then who actually would?
You didn’t even realize you were crying until continuous drops of tears fell on your screen, blurring not only your own sight, but distorting the smiles from another beach photo of the sunset backdrop, droplets blending in with the waves on screen as if giving you a taste of its salty waters.
“You alright?”
A deep voice startled you from your intense gaze with your phone. You quickly wiped whatever stray tears were still caught in your lashes, hoping the streaks down your face were unnoticeable under the fluorescent lights of the study hall.
It was one of the most deserted places at the moment with students having wrapped up most of their exams before the winter break started, save for a few who had one nasty paper to submit that evening or who chose to stay for the break, like you.
Packing up your things as fast as you can, you muttered a quick “just fine,” before catching the gaze of the concerned party that belonged to the most beautiful shade of dark blue eyes that almost made you stop in your stance to see what kind shade of blue they truly were.
⋅˚₊‧ 𖥸 ‧₊˚ ⋅
You checked yourself in your reflection of the metal doors of the elevator of your dorm, making sure traces of your snot nose and red eyes were unnoticeable. You didn’t want to scare the convenience store people at your disheveled state, but you figured they’ve seen worse looking people than someone who just spent a couple of hours crying their eyes till their puffy and dehydrated, dull skin.
As you walked down to grab some snacks and stock up on some milk and soda, you could tell that the holiday spirit fell short this year. Sure, there were the customary string of Christmas lights and wreaths lined up on your university walls. But outside them, among the people, you can’t help but reflect on how quickly people grow up, get wrapped up in their own drama and business, and change priorities; forgetting to spend time with the people who were actually part of your year.
But what’s new? You were disappointed in your friend, but couldn’t help but blame yourself. You must have done something to her that made her cancel, or maybe you just weren’t as important to her as she was to you.
The familiar sting of tears grew in your eyes and you definitely didn’t want to cry in the middle of the nearest campus convenience store. So you just shook it off, pushed your “friend” and all of your problems with the current state of the holidays to the back of your mind, and focused on your main mission: feeding yourself.
Not bothering to grab a basket, you filled your arms with your favorite snacks, cup noodles as is customary in every college student’s grocery list. The last thing you needed was your favorite brand of milk from the store’s fridge. What you didn’t see was another hand reaching out for the same carton you wanted.
“Sorry.” you mumbled, reaching for a second box of milk right behind the first one you were supposed to get.
“Are you okay?”
You were startled at the sudden question from this stranger. Was it always normal to make conversation in a convenience store? You lifted your head to properly face your embarrassment.
At this point, you wished you just brushed off this growing awkward interaction and chopped it before it swallowed you whole, as you realized that the beautiful stranger standing in front of you was in fact, Tobio Kageyama.
The same Tobio Kageyama who's the most active volleyball varsity player in your university. The same Tobio Kageyama who’s been the youngest recruited player for the Japan national volleyball team, participating in the Olympics at 19 years old. The same Tobio Kageyama who’s the same blueberry-eyed guy that definitely saw you crying your eyes out over your phone.
“I saw you earlier at the study hall.” He almost whispered as if he was afraid to be spilling a dark secret.
You averted your gaze suddenly to check your reflection again on the metal frames of the frozen goods door you were both standing in front of, traces of red eyes gone, but the puffy skin was still there.
“Sorry, I asked…” He started slowly.
“No! It’s okay.” You quickly answered, not wanting him to actually confirm your embarrassment of being known as the kind of girl that cries at school. “To answer your question…at the time, I wasn’t.”
You sighed thinking you didn’t have the energy to make up an excuse for what he saw, “Now I’m kinda just tired.”
“Right.” He nodded and mumbled. “Me too.”
“Not from crying!” He quickly sputtered out and added, “But from training…and studying?”
You stifled a laugh at his quick save. You don’t recall him ever seeing him stay in the study hall for anything longer than 15 minutes, unless he was seated at a table with a smaller orange haired student that looked way too bright to be in the dreary hall of learning, and an even shorter yellow-haired girl, Yachi, who you recognized from some of your classes.
He cleared his throat as well as his nerves. “Winter break is coming up.”
“Got any plans?” Kageyama asked, wanting to keep talking to you.
“As of earlier, no.” You shrugged off the urge to make something up.
“Campus is the last place I want to be in right now, but I’m stuck here until maybe after Christmas.” You admitted.
Kageyama nodded at your honesty. “How bout you?” You asked in turn, continuing the conversation even if you don’t know where it’s going, but this surprising plot twist in your evening felt right. It felt good to speak to someone new.
As the student-athlete listed down his training plans (read as: holiday break plans), you caught a beautiful sparkle in his eyes that shined brighter as he talked more about his favorite sport and how it isn’t just “training” for him as a student athlete.
“But I could do something else for the break.” He mumbled as he realized how he was probably boring you with his volleyball tips, but Kageyama’s heart did a little flip as he saw how attentive your soft  gaze was actually focusing on him and how good it felt to be heard.
“Well, good luck with that.” You visibly cringed at how immediately rude that came across, contradicting how warm you felt as he shared his plans. You mentally kicked yourself for your lack of tact and how horrible you were at making friends, let alone maintain your current friendships enough.
You tried to wrack your brain for a better opening to apologize, or possibly offer something else to say to the athlete as you both lined up behind the counter ready to pay for your snacks.
“Would you want to do something?”
Kageyama’s question brought you out of your marathon of overthinking as you were caught off guard with his sudden invitation.
“With me?” He added. “For Christmas!”
You blinked in confusion as he stammered out a proposal, but you were patient as he sighed and closed his eyes in embarrassment.
“Would you want to do something with me for Christmas?”
Any traces of awkwardness left as the air around the two of you suddenly felt cleaner as the cold winter wind bit your cheeks and nose, almost kissing away your puffy eyes. Your heart burned once again, but it wasn’t the painful kind of burn. It was warm and hot that spread rapidly to your numbing fingertips.
“What did you have in mind?” You asked, giving him an encouraging smile.
He finally opened his eyes in surprise. That wasn’t a no! “I…can get back to you on that.” Caught off guard with your acceptance, but nonetheless, the athlete restrained himself from giving a victory fist bump at this good sign.
“Sure.” You smiled, thinking that you didn’t have anything else to lose and you definitely had nowhere to go this weekend. You were definitely intrigued and excited at where this new little adventure can take you.
“Yes?”
“Yes, Tobio.” You laughed, turning back to
Tobio’s grip on his plastic bag tightened at the sound of his name coming out of your lips. Now his stomach was really doing backflips.
“C-can I get your number?” He asked, eager to not let this opportunity slip through his hands. “So I can get back to you for our…um, thing.”
Without realizing it, you’ve both stopped in front of the entrance of your dorm as you both exchanged numbers.
“Have a good night.” You bid your goodbye as you walked inside your dorm entrance.
“You too.” Kageyama whispered, not even caring if you didn’t hear it as his eyes were stuck in a daze at your retreating figure as it disappeared behind the east wall, but not without glancing back at him with a small smile that struck right in his heart that hit him all the way back to his own dorm building, where Hinata, Yachi, Yamaguchi and Tsukishima were all hunched over their board game.
He plopped his plastic bag of snacks and drinks, ignoring all of Hinata and Tsukishima’s jabs at his tardiness for his long walk back from the store with you was worth all the teasing.
“Yachi!” He startled his old manager at his sudden outburst.
“What do girls like to do on Christmas?”
Not only did the group erupt with a whole new level of freak out at the surprise of Kageyama’s sudden “thing” with someone who didn’t go to high school with them, but they also learned that it IS possible to get kicked out of the lounge area of the campus dorms for an unacceptable level of “chatter”.
⋅˚₊‧ 𖥸 ‧₊˚ ⋅
To say you were quite impressed at how festive and cozy a dorm room could look like, excitement started to spread through you as noted all the multicolored lights that hung around his room, a mini Christmas tree on the side of his study table with a few cut out snowflakes spread out on the walls,  and the 2 sets of bare gingerbread material laid expectantly for you and your Christmas date for the evening.
Decorating gingerbread houses was something you never knew you’d enjoy. You’ve always wanted to do a little Christmas activity, but just never got around doing it because every time you offered, your friends either thought it was lame or too kiddie for your age, or like always, they just cancelled.
You didn’t need them anyway. Kageyama was a delightful Christmas date, very gentlemanly and very conscious. Always making sure you felt right at home in his room, it was nice to feel taken care of even if it was just for the evening.
Humming along softly to the jazzy Christmas music playing in the background, your concentration lining up your candies for your house was interrupted with a pssk!
Kageyama squeezed a bit too hard on his piping bag and missed the roof of his house, landing a splat of sweet red icing on your cheek
“I’m so sorry!” As he frantically looked through his desk for spare napkins that Yachi left inside the Christmas-Special-Gift-Basket that his friends helped assemble for him, to ensure he had everything he needed for your “thing”.
“It’s okay!” You giggled, wiping off the last of it with your finger and giving it a small lick. “Least now I know it’ll taste good.”
“I’m sure you do.”
Your eyebrows raised, mouth gaping in a small amused smile waiting for Kageyama to realize what he just said and what he’s implying.
“IT!” Kageyama’s eyes widened in shock. “I really, really meant to say IT.”
The nervous volleyball player couldn’t help but groan and lay his head on the table contemplating to just start eating his gingerbread house to remove all evidence of this embarrassment, or run to the gym to yell and shout at his idiocy, or even curse at Hinata just because it was a reflex for him at this point. He could do either of these, but he prepared himself as he turned his head towards you, expecting to see cringe all over your face.
And then suddenly, Kageyama forgot his urge to run away. Instead he wanted to stay in this very picturesque moment forever, with your bright smile that feels so at home among the warm holiday decorations that decorated his dorm, with your infectious laughter bouncing around the walls and through his heart, with your smile holding such child-like wonder and joy.
Yes, Kageyama decided he can slip up as many times as needed, if only he gets to stay around your radiant smile all the time.
“I didn’t think you’d be so forward!” You praised him.
“Just don’t bring it up again.” He grumbled, fighting the shy smile growing on his face.
“Alright, alright.” You chuckled. “If you get icing on me again, feel free to lick them off of me yourself so you can get a taste too.”
“Shut up.” He winced thinking that was too mean, but he took a peek back at you with a smile that didn’t feel like leaving your face as you turned back to placing different colored M&Ms on your icing coated gingerbread roof.
⋅˚₊‧ 𖥸 ‧₊˚ ⋅
“I really like yours.” As you gestured to his simple white icing covered house with red and green candies scattered on the roof, but intriguingly had a very detailed mini-volleyball net (which isn’t holding up so well) and accurate lines for a court with a matching yellow and blue “volleyball” which is really just a yellow M&M covered in blue icing.
“The court’s definitely my favorite part.”
“Me too.” He nodded, smiling brightly at his little mini safe space of his favorite sport.
“So cute.” You whispered, catching that gleam in his eyes again that you wished you could see longer.
The festivities didn’t stop there as you found yourself next to Kageyama, sitting almost shoulder to shoulder on his dorm bed, with his laptop propped up on a few pillows playing the opening credits to the holiday classic, Home Alone. Was it too on the nose? You couldn't tell, but you definitely pondered on it more as the movie went on.
Halfway through the movie, Kageyama couldn’t resist taking a peek at you. Eyes pointed straight at the TV, but they looked almost glassy and unfocused as if your mind was elsewhere at that moment. “Are you okay?”
“Sorry,” You shook your head to bring yourself back to the present. “I think I’m just tired.” Feeling embarrassed that you got caught while lost in thought. You hoped Kageyama didn’t think you were bored, so you took it as a sign to start some idle conversation, starting with the one question you were currently curious about your new found friend.
“I never got to ask this earlier,” You thought over carefully on your next words.
“Why didn’t you go home for the holidays, like your friends did?”
He shrugged as he revealed bluntly, “my parents aren’t around much.” He goes on about how they’ve been on more frequent business trips abroad since his high school days, not even showing up to his matches when his team played in national tournaments.
The whole time you couldn’t believe how these supposedly important people in a person’s life could easily miss out on Kageyama’s life like that. He’s clearly very passionate about volleyball and no one can deny his talent and skill for it. Your chest tightened at the pain of imagining a younger Kageyama getting ready for his match, but with a quick scan at the crowd, he'd easily notice the absence of his parents and sister in the crowd.
“And my sister’s spending this Christmas with some friends on a girls’ trip or something.”
“Must be nice for them to not be alone on Christmas.” Your bitter tone slipped. You frowned as you munched your popcorn, trying hard not to take out your frustration on the snack bowl.
If Kageyama picked up that tone in your voice, he didn’t show it. “We’re not alone either. Not anymore.” He said, words dripping with sincerity as it hung in the air of the small dorm room.
He was right. Some could probably say it was a coincidence how you both ended up as one of the few people living on school grounds in the middle of winter break when most of the students, teachers and staff have left for their own holidays.
But some could also say, it was fate for these two souls who haven’t felt seen by their supposedly loved ones in a long time, who grew up lonelier and lonelier as the people around them moved on, grew up, or drifted away. Maybe, just maybe, it was fate leading them to each other, as some kind of plot twist they didn’t know they needed to have in their life.
⋅˚₊‧ 𖥸 ‧₊˚ ⋅
As the movie came to an end, so does your little Christmas date with Kageyama. You almost didn’t want to leave from your position after having really snuggled yourself under the soft, plush blanket that Kageyama had especially put on the side for you.
“This was really fun.” You slowly stretched your legs as you reluctantly got off of his warm bed. “I’m really glad you invited me, Tobio. Thank you.” You said.
Kageyama beamed with pride as he felt so seen in your eyes. Spending time with you, just the two of you, was probably the best present he could have ever received this Christmas. Despite knowing he embarrassed himself a few times that night, he didn’t think anything else could top the evening. Except maybe…
As you picked up your bag to turn towards his door, you felt a gentle hand land on your shoulder, gently spinning you around back to the blueberry eyed boy standing in front of you with a look that just made you want to melt on the spot.
“You don’t have to be alone on Christmas again.” Kageyama started. “We can do this again next year.”
He added, “Or doesn’t have to be next year. Can be anytime you want,” Kageyama tried to control his enthusiasm, but he couldn’t help it. Being around you felt like he could hit 10 service aces in a row, (he secretly wants to test this theory, but that’s for another time).
Maybe this was the kind of feeling that people call “walking on cloud 9” or maybe it’s what falling in love felt like. Regardless, of what it is, Kageyama knew he wanted to keep being in your life, “If that’s something you’d like?”
“Do you really mean that?”
To Kageyama, it was a no-brainer question. But, looking at the soft look in your eyes and how the multicolored sparkles of light dancing across your irises, illuminated by the holiday fairy lights that were decorating his bookshelf, a small sliver of hope flickered on your face, awaiting his answer.
He knew at that moment that the question held more weight to it for you. He knew at that moment, he didn’t want you to go through another lonely Christmas or birthday, or Valentines’ Day, or if you just wanted company. He’d be there for you if you’d call.
Kageyama nodded as he poured all the honesty he had in his heart, sealing his “yes” in a promise.
“Then, I’d like that very much.” You said.
At the corner of your eye, you noticed something dangling at the edge of Kageyama’s bookshelf, sticking out between two books that almost looked like it’d fall off after one big shove on the shelf.  “Is that…”
Kageyama took a step closer to the shelf to pluck it out of its wedged place and pushed back the books so they wouldn’t fall on either of you.
As he realized that he also took a step closer to you. He raised the mystery item in between the two of you and revealed a small famous christmas ornament, laced perfectly with a red-ribbon.
“Mistletoe.” You bit your lip cheekily at him, subtly questioning his intentions for the end of your evening together.
“My friends left it here, I swear.” He protested.
“Mhm.”
“I hate those guys.” He argued.
“Mhm, sure you do.”
“I really, really hate them.”
“Yeah, I hear you.” You laughed at his poor attempts at a defense.
“I don’t hate you though.” He shyly admitted in defeat.
“You’re really cute when you get caught.” You giggled.
With confidence and gentle hands, Kageyama brought his fingers through some stray hairs that draped down the sides of your face, moving the strands aside to rest his hand on the side of your cheek.
“I know this isn’t where you wanted to be this weekend.” He started, with his eyes never leaving yours as it searched for any hint of rejection from you as he continued. “But I just really wanted to say,”
“Yeah?” Your eyes shined with encouragement that silently told him to relax as you both drew closer to each other.
“I’m glad you’re here,” He whispered as his lips brushed across from yours, “Truly.”
“Me too.” You agreed as you closed your eyes and the gap between you two, sealing your promises to each other with a sweet kiss.
Your friend cancelling on your holiday plans now seemed to be for the best. At least because of it, you finally had someone to be with that actually enjoyed your company, and that you wouldn’t mind making one or two new Christmas plans with Kageyama. Knowing you’ll both be there for each other not just for holidays but also for every other important milestone in your lives that have yet to come.

Red Hood/Jason Todd
Headcanons
Before I start I'd like to say that this is the first time I've ever written something on tumblr so it may not be very good but I hope you can feel that I've captured a little of the essence of Jason's character with these headcanons, so remember this is a totally personal opinion and it's ok if you don't think the same as I do. By the way, my first language is not English (it's Spanish) so I might be wrong with some words, I apologize in advance for that.
The Lazarus pit healed all of Jason's scars and he didn't like this much because there were scars that had valuable meaning to him.
Thanks to the lazarus pit Jason ages slower.
Jason was pained that Bruce would remove him from the family portrait and not let him go to the opening of the hospital on behalf of Alfred.
Jason actually speaks very cleanly and only uses rude words when he is very angry or making jokes.
Jason actually gets along very well with dick and their differences only surface when it comes to moral issues (such as respecting batman's rule of not killing).
He often has many nightmares about the night the joker tortured him.
He prefers hamburgers over pizza.
Jason is the most sentimental of the bat-family (this is actually Canon, Damian said in a comic).
He has an amazing spelling and a very nice handwriting.
Romantic relationships don't usually last long because Jason usually thinks those girls deserve better than him.
He doesn't want to have children because he thinks the world is too cruel and hard to bring another child into this world (he thinks having children is selfish). Despite that Jason likes children very much and knows how to treat them very well.
Jason is an old soul.
He loves romantic and soft songs.
He loves to read and every time he has time he does so.
Jason music favorites are: Jazz, Rock, Rap, Hip-Hop, and Ballads.
He loves to cook because it relaxes him.
He likes video games very much.
He doesn't usually fall in love easily.
He loves cats and dogs alike.
He has a very large collection of guns which he often cleans and has a name for each one.
His favorite time of the year is Halloween.
Christmas is very depressing for him.
He would actually like to get married someday.
Jason thinks that every day many innocent people die in Gotham because of Bruce's absurd rule not to kill.
This would be the end, I hope you enjoyed it, I don't know if I will do a part 2 or keep writing, I guess it depends on how things go🥹💓

So I gotta wonder what all the anti-gods, pro-BH-release-Predathos people think about the fact that releasing it could possibly destroy Ruidus. The only place the Ruidians live. Are they cool with the party choosing to commit genocide? When they were all worked up about what the gods did to Aeor. It just doesn't seem like something anyone is discussing much and is kind of important.
Do recall, anon, that a lot of anti-god folks interpreted negative commentary on Imogen's behavior, Laudna's character, or Imogen and Laudna's relationship as obsessive misogynistic lesbophobic hatred—but had no problem with Dorian and Ashton endorsing a plan that could mean sacrificing Imogen and Fearne. This is not an academically rigorous bunch.
Funnily enough, I have seen a couple posts here and there from anti-god folks about the Ruidians, but they were in the context of how oh-so-terrible it was for the poor brainwashed Ruidians that the Bloody Bridge was destroyed and now they have no way off Ruidus when (when, not if, apparently) it's destroyed. Which like, first of all, WILD that this only came up as a point of discussion when Vox Machina actually demolished the Malleus Key; apparently some people thought they were only going to seize it? (Girl what do you think they were there for. Vax was very famously orbed so they could power the key. Open the schools.) Secondly, have we considered that maybe Ruidus doesn't have to get destroyed, but a good way to potentially do that would be to release Predathos, for either Ludinus's plan or Corellon's? A lot of the anti-god folks are also very pro-Bell's Hells, yet they lament the destruction of Ruidus as an inevitability with little interest in the fact that the most likely scenario for Ruidus to be destroyed is one in which Bell's Hells are the ones responsible.
(And to be clear, there's no guarantee that releasing Predathos would destroy Ruidus, but I think you're right that it's another unknown we can mark down as a very good reason not to release Predathos. But that's the thing, isn't it? Orym was absolutely right back in 108 to say they're putting the entire population of the world at risk with no hard evidence that it'll work out, and that's also true for the people of Ruidus.)
And frankly, at least the gods who destroyed Aeor were fighting for survival. Vespin Chloras thought he was doing the world a favor. The Ring of Brass at worst thought they were acting for the good of their city, and their final efforts caused mass destruction but gave the world a chance. Even Percy, who created guns knowing what a bad decision it was, had been genuinely horrifically wronged. If the Hells intentionally release Predathos and cause the kind of devastation we have every reason to believe would happen, all because one person is mad about the Titans and the rest are too tepid to stop it? They'll be remembered as selfish dipshits, and they'll deserve it.

“Mai deserves so so much better from the fandom. She barely did anything wrong, especially compared to Zuko. "She's mean!" No, she's sarcastic. You just only see her with a girl she fears and a peppy bubblegum girl. Also it's implied to be a front because of her fear and probable hate of Azula. Also, while it doesn't excuse the fact she supported the FN in her actions, she never did ideologically, only going along with Azula because she was afraid”
What do you think of this? I agree that Mai is overhated but I disagree about her secretly hating Azula (at least show wise. Comics are different from what I’ve heard.)
I think this is the worst kind of "In defense of..." type of meta: the kind that refuses to engage with the character's canonical flaws, including the ones that are a core part of their arc.
While fear and control is absolutely an element in nearly every single dynamic that involves Azula, and Mai did grow to resent her for it and it led to their falling out, the simple fact is that Mai, for a long time, genuinely liked Azula and joined her in book 2 WILLINGLY. She always goes wherever she believes she'll have the most agency, and her parents were so awful that a control-freak Azula actually was an improvement.
Now, don't get me wrong, Mai was well-aware that, from the moment Azula showed up, she'd try to do something to force her hand if she had said no - hence the show making her question what the hell Ty Lee was doing there when she had been much happier at the circus, and also jokingly asking Azula is she was there to kill her.
But that doesn't change the fact that Mai was raised under the same tyranical rulers as both Zuko and Azula, and while she wasn't really a patriot that would set herself on fire if it made the Fire Lord happy like they were, she was still fed enough propaganda that she saw nothing wrong with the war and believed the Fire Nation had every right to just kill anyone that got in the way of their goal of world domination.
Much like Zuko, she was hunting down the last survivor of a genocide, constantly attacked the Gaang (and taunted them when she thought she won), and helped Azula take Ba Sing Se because she saw nothing wrong with any of it. She just didn't feel as strongly about it being her "duty" or tied to her "honor" like he did
(Hell, she refuses to obey Azula in "The Drill" because she doesn't want to be covered in mud, and is fully ready to face the potential consequences for it. If she had literally ANY genuine objection to all the racist/imperialist things Azula was doing, she would not have participated in it, no matter how scared she was of being hurt or killed)
But it's exactly because she knows Zuko and how strongly he feels about their nation that it shocks her when he changes side, especially when he says he did it to SAVE the Fire Nation. She doesn't truly understand what the hell he means at that point, but she trusts him enough to know that, if he of all people turned against the current system, he had damn good reason to do so, and thus she takes a leap of faith - and once again, follows the person that gives her more agency.
Mai doesn't care much for any ideology, but she WAS fed one from birth and it affected how she viewed the world. And because of her very strong attachment to PEOPLE and a desire to connect to something for once, she allowed herself to actually think about what she was contribuiting to. And while she still wasn't at a point where the harm the war did to the other nations would register to her, she saw first-hand the damage it did to the person she loved the most, and how her own parents were terrible to her because that system allowed them to get away with it, encouraged it even.
Much like Iroh and Zuko starting to question everything only after Lu Ten's death and the disastrous Agni Kai with Ozai, Mai's change of heart about imperialism could ONLY come after some kind of personal tragedy because that's how war propaganda works - it dehumanizes anyone that fits into the category of "other", to the point that you don't see their pain even when you're the one causing it. Once they had doubts about all the happiness and glory they were promised, they could see the role they played in other people's misery and actually feel any guilt over it.
The whole fandom loves Iroh and Zuko despite their past (that they felt WAY more "righteous" about than Mai ever did), it makes no sense to act like Mai going along with the exact same shit somehow makes her a fundamentally garbage person. We don't need to erase that flaw in her character to defend her from dumb people that are just bitter she's the one who made out with Zuko instead of their fave, we just need to point out the clear double-standard of them forgiving Zuko but not her, even though she changed sides almost IMMEDIATELY instead of rejecting chance after chance like he did for nearly three seasons (once again, propaganda is not that easy to get over).
As for her being "mean" - yeah, she is mean sometimes, much like Zuko could be a real asshole and downright verbally abusive before his redemption.
Now, do people exagerate how mean Mai tended to be in order to make her look worse? Absolutely (and they also exagerate how strong of a reaction other people had to it, see zutara fans acting like Zuko was deeply hurt by her "I just asked if you were cold" comment in The Awakening, even though he doesn't get mad at all AND actually turns to her for support again in Nightmares and Daydreams)
But there were moments where she DID cross the line from simply sarcastic teenager into "You're just being a bitch right now" (joining in on the trashing of Chan's house comes to mind), and that's okay, because it was the point. It was a flaw that she got better at handling as she opened herself up to loving and being loved, to not mistreating people just because she could/was ordered to, and that's why she was an engaging character who earned her happy ending. She learned from her mistakes.

hiiii! I love your blog so so so much! i wanted to send in a mini success story since even "mini" ones count! I manifested some snacks I wanted! well I think the first one may have been inspired action because I was at the store and they only had 2 bags left so I bought one then my uncle comes home with the same snack and says there was only ONE bag left! I told myself "He's going to buy me some snacks soon." i've manifested the fact that he buys me snack randomly when im craving them so another success story there!
now in the 3D it did take a few days, not very long actually! But I already knew it was going to happen either way (knowing I'll happen is easier for me.) I plan on manifesting more since I deserve it! I can't thank you and other loa bloggers enough! it's so simple yet we complicate it so much, just do what works for you period! <3
MINI SUCCESS STORY
XOXO | GOSSIP GIRL | XOXO | GOSSIP GIRL | XOXO | GOSSIP GRL
There is no such thing as “small” or “big” manifestations. Keep in mind that manifesting snacks is just as easy as manifesting being able to fly. I’m really proud of you. You’re right, you deserve the world. Go give it to yourself love ♥️♥️♥️

What if Armand had survived the war?
Imagining a timeline where Armand didn't die from Rotalström and wins the war actually changes the ENTIRE course of the story! And a lot of it has to do with Yugo and Amalia.
For Amalia, she never becomes queen and has fewer responsibilities. She'll get to marry Yugo, as intended, but will completely devote herself to Yugo's own people. Unlike in the Great Wave manga, Amalia will be the one to support Yugo. She'll help him with any political issues with the other kingdoms because my poor chef guy obviously doesn't have any experience on that particular field.
And as for Yugo, seeing as how it's very unlikely that Armand would let his people live in his kingdom, he'll thank Yugo instead and leave the eliatropes alone for proving their bravery and almost sacrificing their lives for them. Having Armand, the Sadida king, acknowledge Yugo means that Yugo will at least have one kingdom ally by his side.
Armand isn't easily persuaded by Aurora and her father when it comes to making decisions. We've seen Armand not listening to them on three accounts.
1) When Armand spoke back to the Osamodas king, for being told that his men were weak.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2) When Aurora told him not to speak out of line towards her father.
Tumblr media
3) When Armand told the Osamodas king to listen to his younger sister and bring his own men to the war.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So it's safe to say, Armand will always keep a strong head around them and keep ruling without the need for them (or you know he can simply just...divorce Aurora like any guy who suspects his woman is acting sus).
Since Yugo won't be able to stay in the Sadida Kingdom, he'll have to leave with Adamaï and the elite eliatropes. Amalia will follow him as well, and the group could simply be moving around together with the help of Adamaï's dragonic form. I'm guessing his full body is big enough to take everyone on his back since there are only 34 eliatropes based on this shot alone.
Tumblr media
So since Adamaï will be able to do just that, the eliatropes under the care of Yugo and Amalia will be turned into nomades. They will always move from island to island, from city to city, from town to town, from village to village, and many more.
It will actually be a good way of living for them. In a way, Qilby was right when he said that eliatropes were far better at moving around than staying in one place. And Yugo would've realized this, so he'll just keep doing what he does best with his people. Amalia will also come to love it. She will miss the Sadida Kingdom from time to time, especially when she doesn't know how Armand is doing and what his "wife" is up to, but she knows she'll have nothing to worry about since her brother can take care of himself.
With the new alliance Yugo and Armand will share, Yugo will always respond to Armand whenever the Tree of Life is in danger or if there's an impossible chance that Rotalström wakes up. The six eliatrope dofus have been stored within Yugo, while Lokus roams around him only to be used for emergencies. Amalia will only come to keep loving her place with Yugo and will accept her role as queen of the eliatropes. The eliatropes, on the other hand, will respect her and treat her as their own just like they already did when the necrome war was happening.
Yugo and his followers will move around the world and help as many people as they can, like how Yugo did back in seasons 1-2. His help around the world will once again be recognized but with the new notion that he's the eliatrope king and has been leading his people to help others. He'll try to regain the respect he rightfully deserves. And with the help of Amalia, he'll be able to know how to behave in political situations since she'll play a big role in those for him (like the girl boss we know she is). Yugo will also get to learn his own culture with Adamaï thanks to their people's knowledge on the matter. Without Qilby, their mother, Nora, and Efrim, the two brothers will have to rely on what the elite eliatropes have learned from Balthazar. They'll come to have a clearer picture of who they are as the eliatrope race. Amalia will learn about all of it as well. She'll also get to talk happily about her own culture to them whenever they ask her about it, which they do in their free time.
So yeah, this is my take on it.
Like I said, if Armand hadn't died, things would've been far more different for the Sadida Kingdom, Yugo, Amalia, Adamaï, and of course, Armand.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not implying that I would have preferred if Armand hadn't died. I have no bias on whether he dies or not. It can sometimes be nice to see what could happen if one significant moment had been played around with just to see how much it would greatly change the next course of events.

world juniors surprise
hughes!sister x will smith au (samy + will)
samy surprises the guys in canada at world juniors!
wc: 2.4k
this is more gabe, ryan + samy just because i like writing their friendship and showing how much they all enjoy each other’s company and hanging out all together even when will isn’t around. (i also didn’t know how to end this so ending sucks my bad)
au masterlist
Tumblr media
even though will wasn't playing at world juniors anymore, samy still wanted to support her other boston boys and her parents were suckers for hockey, so they made the trip into canada for the rest of the tournament. samy also really loved surprises, so she made an effort to surprise ryan and gabe upon arriving.
she texted back and forth with drew and zeev about making sure neither of the boys found out as she snuck into the practice rink near the end of their practice. she stayed close to the back of the bleachers, watching as the boys played a scrimmage. the sound of the puck hitting against their sticks was like music to her ears.
drew glanced her way and she gave a tiny wave. the taller boy smiled, making sure to not draw any attention in her direction. she saw ryan wearing the big C on his uniform and gabe with his A and she couldn't be prouder of the two. after all the work they've put in the last year and this season so far, they definitely deserved it.
their coach called them in after another few minutes for his last remarks about practice before sending them free for the day. with everyone's back turned, samy carefully snuck her way onto the ice.
head coach carle saw her making her way towards them. he began wrapping up his last words, "good work today boys. get some good sleep, we have a big day tomorrow." ryan began standing back up to call out their cheer when coach stopped him, "actually, i think we have someone else who wants to call the cheer today."
the boys grew confused until samy said, "mind if i do one leno?"
ryan's head snapped towards her, eyes wide with surprise. the other boys copied his movements, all of their gazes quickly lighting up when they saw the familiar hughes sister.
"no fucking shit," ryan laughed and skated towards her. gabe wasn't far behind as they hugged.
"what are you even doing here?" gabe laughed as he took his hug and the other guys rallied around for a hello. with most of these boys being old u18s and u17s, samy was very familiar with all of them so she greeted each of the boys with a friendly smile.
"i'm here to watch hockey, duh?" the girl laughed.
"what a great surprise. it's good to see you," ryan grinned.
"we did help plan, by the way," drew spoke up next to zeev.
"impressive. i don't think i've ever been on the receiving end of a surprise before," gabe patted the girl's shoulder.
"well since you're here and you asked, you can do the honors," ryan said meaning the team cheer.
"all hands in," samy smiled and the boys put their gloved hands in the center. "usa on 3. 1, 2, 3, usa," they broke and finally started skating off the ice now in chatter about samy being there.
"how long are you staying?" ryan asked.
"the whole tournament. my parents are here too. they couldn't pass up an opportunity to watch some good hockey," she giggled.
"well, we're glad you're here. i don't think we've ever been surprised by you before. give us like..twenty minutes to shower and change and we'll be out," gabe said and samy nodded. she wasn't a stranger to waiting around after a game or practice, so she made herself comfortable against the wall across from the locker room.
the youngest hughes sent a quick picture to will telling him she successfully surprised the boys. they were both sad he couldn't join her in canada because of the games he had to be at coming up, but he was there in spirit and obviously, samy was going to send him all the game updates.
james and aram came out of the locker room first. the older brunette quickly hurried over to greet samy where she gave both of them warm hugs.
"good to see you again hughesy. congrats on your national title by the way," aram nudged her shoulder.
"thank you. it's good to see you guys too. how's boston been?" she asked and the two nodded.
"amazing. awesome. perfect," james chuckled.
"you've been doing pretty good this season. i can't believe my little u17 is all grown up," samy poked james' shoulder making him flush. in her eyes, him, teddy, cole would always be her u17s no matter how old they got.
"i try to stay humble," the boy mumbled, but smiled nonetheless. teddy and cole were the next ones out, quickly rushing over to say a proper hello. samy hugged them all the same.
"it's kind of weird seeing you without will here," teddy laughed.
"yeah, i know, but i really wanted to come see you guys. i can't believe how grown up you are," she pinched teddy and cole's cheeks like a big sister would, which, in some ways, she was a big sister to them.
"you say that like we went from 12 to 17 overnight," cole said making the others laugh.
"in my eyes you did. i feel like a mom who's birds all left the nest," samy held her heart and the boys exchanged a glance knowing how sappy and sentimental she got.
the last four finally came back out after another ten minutes. drew and zeev hurried over to also give the youngest hughes a proper hug. "thanks for helping with the surprise," she said.
"of course. glad i got to finally be in the know this time around," drew grinned.
"are you hungry at all? we can all catch an early dinner late lunch?" ryan wondered and the others nodded, wanting to tag along.
"sure, i'm down," samy agreed too.
they decided on a restaurant not too far from the rink and piled into their cars. samy got in with ryan and gabe, the dark-haired boy offering her the front while ryan got in the driver's seat.
"when's em and julianne coming down?" samy wondered.
"emma's coming this weekend and i think julianne is too. like everyone is coming this weekend," gabe said, clicking his seatbelt in.
"i'm excited to see everyone. all we'll be missing is will and hannah."
"isn't hannah in like jamaica for break?" ryan wondered and the girl nodded.
"yup, her big winter break vacation. the pictures have been super cool though."
they pulled out of the lot, the other hockey boys following behind them. "so how are you feeling about being captains?" the brunette shifted the subject, her gaze bouncing between the two boys.
"good, i think. we're feeling confident about this tournament and i think we've been doing a good job?" ryan said in a bit of a question as he gazed back at gabe through the rearview.
"i'm feeling confident too. it's gonna be a good tournament," the dark-haired boy agreed.
"good, i'm glad to hear that. you guys have really great players on the roster this year. you guys and hagens should be a good trio," the girl nodded.
"dude, hagens is a fucking beast. he's crazy good. he's like the will smith of his year," gabe quickly gushed at the mention of the other taller brunette.
"i've heard. he was always really good at dev," samy agreed.
"i know he's gonna go quick at the draft next year. there's no way he doesn't," ryan turned into the restaurant parking lot. all the other boys pulled in, scattering to find parking spots.
the poor hostess was definitely a bit frightened when almost ten hockey players came into the restaurant without a reservation, but somehow, she managed to seat all of them. their chatter carried across the table between one another talking about world juniors, college, hockey, michigan, san jose—all of the topics getting covered.
"hey, i'm just wondering how you get smitty to post pictures of you like that," aram snickered making the other boys laugh. samy flushed and just shook her head.
"i have no idea. you have to ask him," she shrugged.
"he's sooo whipped for you," zeev poked her shoulder and the girl's poor flush got worse and opted to bury her face in her hands instead.
"oh she knows. we all know. you should've seen how bad they were before they got together. it was so obvious," ryan shook his head slightly making gabe, drew, and aram all laugh.
fall of 2021 (samy's junior year and will's first year of dev)
"where are you going?" ryan wondered when he saw his friend putting his coat on. will's gaze snapped in his direction.
"my mom and i are going down to samy's soccer game. you wanna come with?" ryan didn't know the youngest hughes that well yet. their only interaction had been at her house the first time and then she was at some of the preseason games, but the boy wouldn't pass up an opportunity to get out of house and watch a game of soccer.
"yeah sure," he shrugged and got to find his coat. "do you guys always go to games?"
"usually, yeah. my mom always had the highlights up or read about it online," will shrugged and the brunette just nodded. he still thought about how much will played it down how close him and samy were and after meeting her, the guys quickly realized how much closer they were than will led on.
mrs. smith filled the silence with asking the boys about how the program was going so far and if they were liking it to which they said yes. it was hard getting any elaboration out of sixteen year old boys.
the stands were fairly packed when they got there. colleen found samy's parents and the boys followed her since they didn't really know anyone from her school.
"there she is," will pointed to samy's #6 down on the field warming up. "she has crazy pre game superstitions. she always has to have her hair up in a braid and she usually eats two apples before every game," the blonde continued.
"sounds serious," ryan chuckled to himself and will nodded.
"you have no idea. she gets insane with her superstitions," the blonde laughed too. samy finally looked back up at the stands where will waved. she quickly waved back when she saw him, a large smile on her lips.
"i'm definitely dragging all of you guys out to these games. samy loves the support and she'll find it funny seeing all of us in the stands," the more will kept talking about her the more curious ryan got with their relationship because he seriously wondered just how close they really were.
the game got underway and ryan also began realizing just how much he liked girl's soccer. he didn't usually watch it, but samy's game had him on the edge of his seat as the girls raced up and down the field to score a goal. the youngest hughes was good. will mentioned how good she was, but now that ryan was seeing it with his own eyes he definitely agreed. the girl was fast and good at scoring.
when the game ended the family waited around for samy to come back out of the school. ryan and will were discussing what a great game that was when the brunette came out with her team in high spirits after the win. will quickly lifted her into a hug.
"great game, hughesy," the blonde cheesed.
"thanks, smitty. it's so good seeing you in person," she chucked and her eyes slid to ryan. "i dragged him with me. well, he wanted to come when i asked," will filled in the gaps.
"you were good, hughes. i was impressed," ryan smiled.
"thanks, that means a lot. i'm glad you came," she offered a quick side hug before greeting her parents and mrs. smith. ryan watched the exchanges and the way the smile never left will's lips as he watched samy in front of them.
ryan was slowly learning how important this girl would be to all of them in the next two years because after that game, the guys never missed one of samy's home soccer games (unless they had a game too).
even though she was will's girlfriend and will's friend first, samy had become quite an important friend to all of the guys. she showed up for them and they showed up for her, even when will wasn't around to bridge the gap because there was no gap to bridge anymore. they were close all on their own.
and her being at world juniors to support them in the tournament was more than the guys could even ask for. they all went back to the hotel for the night knowing they needed to get good sleep for the game tomorrow. samy hung out in ryan and gabe's room with aram and drew for a bit. ryan was out on the balcony getting fresh air when samy came out to join him.
"nervous?" the girl wondered as she leaned against the railing.
"kind of," ryan admitted with a small chuckle.
"you're all gonna do great, lean. you worked really hard for this," samy assured making the brunette smile a bit.
"yeah, i know. i think it's pre game jitters i always get. still getting used to the whole captain thing too."
"hey, i get it. it's nerve racking for sure when people finally watch what you and your teammates have been working on for the past week. people love you guys though. they love you. they're gonna think it's great," the girl said and ryan flushed.
"thanks for coming by the way. it's good having you here with us even though will isn't here," they exchanged a glance.
"you know i'd always show up for you guys. you show up for me. we're friends outside of will. you guys are gonna be in our wedding whenever that happens, so of course i'd show up for you guys," samy loved these boys like they were bonus brothers. all of her brother's hockey friends were her bonus brothers, but the u18s of 2023 were brothers in a way that samy knew they'd all be friends for the rest of their lives.
"you know will really landed a good one," ryan winked making the girl flush.
"yeah, i guess he did."
"you guys better get back in here and watch drew beat gabe at mario kart," aram called. the two exchanged a glance, laughing and racing back inside so they could see drew pull ahead and cross the finish line before gabe could. he jumped up in excitement.
"i won! finally!" drew exclaimed.
the others cheered excitedly. gabe rolled his eyes a bit and handed off his controller to someone else. ryan grabbed it wanting to beat drew this time.
they played for a little while longer until deciding they definitely needed to go to bed. the guys hugged samy goodnight, “can’t wait for a great game tomorrow!” she grinned as she followed drew and aram out of the room.

I don’t love my teenage boy students more than the others but their breakthroughs are sooooo much harder and therefore that much more satisfying
