Epic's story is so painfully inaccurate to the point where it's physically painful to think about it for more then 5 minutes.

- Telemachus' entire personality being changed from being a traumatized prince who acts immature at times to just being a carbon copy of Polites

- Antinous' lack of personality in Epic replacing the personality he DOES have in the original odyssey

- Calypso being babied and almost everything making her terrible being removed

- Odysseus being overpowered in "600 strike" and "Odysseus"

- Polites. In general.

- Athena disappearing for half of the fucking musical

- The way Eurylochus is villainized in both the cut and canon songs

- Important characters being cut just for the sake of this being a "modern retelling"

The list fucking goes on. Epic's story is a mess. It needs work.

And what's sad is, I know it's not going to get any.

Because the musics already set in stone. This is what Jorge shows people who he wants to work with. Which means the story's not changing

This isn't an insult to the music. The music and the voices are the saving grace of this musical. Without them, this would just be a shit retelling.

(Sorry for possibly blowing up your inbox but I've been thinking about this a lot. I'll cut here tho so it doesn't take up as much room.)

This also brings to thought the comeback of Meliora... On the recent setlists, most of Prequelle's and Impera's tracks have been taken off. It does make sense because that was his twin's music, so there might be some tension. But I don't know, most of the songs that are coming back are either off the Meliora album OR were just last performed by Terzo.

It is probably just coincidence, but I genuinely adore the similarities between Terzo and Perpetua, and I also love your theory of the idolization of Terzo.

There was such a lack of closer with Terzo. There was no stone set canon event that placed how he died, it feels like. He just... Died. Fans have spent years trying to figure out if Terzo was coming back, seeing if they could find any hints or proof. A lot of theories pointed towards the scratch marks on the coffin.

The scratch marks that came from Terzo's nails. The nails that Perpetua's look a lot like.

Both of them have such similar styles and sort of personalities. Copia made teasing comments, but it feels like a different sort of delivery (to me personally, at least) than how Terzo and Perpetua do it. Both of their color schemes have used a fantastic amount a purple and green, which is why a lot of people thought Terzo was coming back when they saw the new purple theme.

I don't know how to explain this more without using my own personal headcanons and thoughts instead of facts... But it's just fun to think about.

I like the idea of seeing Perpetua as what Terzo could've been, or maybe even a reincarnation. Maybe Tobias didn't want to bring back Papa III, but he could at least awaken some memories. Maybe Perpetua is Terzo's second life and the whole drama between V and Copia is that Copia beheaded V in his past life. I just think it's a funny thought.

In my mind, Terzo was Perpetua's favorite Papa and that's why he's another purple sparkly diva

howdy :) I'm not really active in the fandom but I enjoy The Hobbit movie, and I'm trying to nail down some lore. Canonically, how much do we know about Thorin and his family's activities during their time in the Blue Mountains?

Unfortunately, it's not as much as you might have hoped. The years between Smaug's coming to Erebor and the retaking of Erebor are known as the years of exile. In that time, we are told of the deeds of the exiles of Erebor as well as the fates of several members of the line of Durin. During this time, the Battle of Azanulbizar was fought, and Azog was slain by Dain. This had the additional side effect of killing so many orcs that Eriador was nearly completely free of orcs all the way up until Frodo carried the ring. Unfortunately, a LOT of dwarves died as well.

Most of what we do know about Thorin setting his people up in the Blue Mountains can be found at the end of the Return Of The King in Appendix A, in section III: DURIN'S FOLK. The little we do know of that time can be easily accessed in the below. Tolkien Gateway is a very good source of information. Most of it has little to do with Thorin and more with Thrain. The Blue Mountains were the dwarven capital up until Thorin's death. Dain dissolved the capital, moved it to Erebor, and renamed the settlement Thorin's Halls.

obviously Jamie not being in season 4 would suck mostly because I simply want Jamie to be there and to get more of his story and get to enjoy more interactions between Jamie and the other characters. At the end of the day though, I can just not watch s4, which I'm perfectly okay with.

what sucks EVEN MORE to me, and is far harder to avoid, is that not having Jamie in the show totally changes the *canon* of the character in a way that will inevitably bleed over into fan spaces, regardless of whether or not I'm actively watching. However they write him out (I assume it would just be having him go to another team) becomes the new "Jamie Tartt canon." And that small thing totally changes his story and we don't even get to see it play out! When i was perfectly happy playing in my sandbox of a million equally valid possibilities.

hey i saw your post about vaatividya and i was wondering if you could explain your reasoning? i already kinda disliked some of his interpretations but i wanted to see your evidence before just confirmation biasing myself into believing you blindly.

Eeeh, it's not really about liking/disliking his lore interpretations (i think that every interp is valid as long as it doesn't explicitedly contradict the few confirmed canon elements) it's just that his videos have really... gentrified the lore community?

I think the beauty of soulsborne games is that you make your own lore interpretation and said lore interpretation is going to be different from the one of another fan, making the fandom very varied and keeping it alive. However this has kinda died down since the rise of big lore channels like Vaati because nowadays when someone searches for the lore other people in the fandom are just going to point you to him or repeat what he says without a dash of own interpretation or without encouraging the new fan to make their own spin on the story which imo defeats the whole purpose of the way the story in soulsborne games is told

And tbh i can't even blame him for doing these videos and people for following his interpetation, because soulsborne lore is obscure and hard to understand if you are more of a casual player, but my main issue is that usually (mostly on reddit) people see his lore interpretations as the set in stone truth and what miyazaki interpreted, and you get downvoted to hell and back whenever you try to have a more lax or bizzarre or out of fandom approved canons view of the lore
