God, I’m still thinking about the political argument I got in yesterday and I’m still dumbfounded.

She literally said things like “if your work is worth it, the business will pay you more” and “the point of the free market is that everybody can make what their labor is worth”, without even a hint of hesitation. It didn’t even seem to occur to her that businesses exploit people. She just like... assumed that corporations and bosses are ~honorable~ about how money is passed around and will just pay their workers fairly without any incentive to do so.

Like. The fact that anybody has that much faith in capitalism is terrifying to me?
