It does not compliment each other in any way, and doesn't make sense to me. And I'm a hugeeee Kenji x Brooklyn because it was a very fair balance of differences and similarities. And it was so requited. I just don't see why if you can see she wasn't committed to being with Kenji that she'd be committed to be with Darius. I think she just can't immediately jump into a relationship.

Darius just had his first love it doesn't make sense for him to get with someone. The field of romance is unfamiliar to him. I think he needs to heal first too. They both do. Before anything happens. But guys...it would mean so much to me if benrius in a future skip ends up together because I NEED THIS WTH...And their dynamic just makes me so happy I can't lose that. I'd be borderline sad. Even if the bond was queer platonic. I'd take it. Even if they never kiss or hug or whatever I'd take it. Even if nothing happens with brooks or Ben I'd take it!!! Better non canon than canon am I right. Pull a gustholomule so I can stay delusional.

Drabbles from Re-Playing AOM

OKAY SO- woe Spoilers and speculations upon ye

I'm still reflecting on the card that's deliberately put into Alice's room underneath a picture frame of the Deross family. It's probably just cut and dry like "ohhh Alice is a sacrifice" but I can get more nitpicky with it

On the back it says "Welcome to Join the Hunting Game" which could be two things

Either A really poor translation on IDV's part, and is further saying the obvious that Alice is a sacrifice (Which would make sense given how we've pretty much gotten hunter versions of da capo excluding her, if you count Frederick being a hallucination influenced by Orpheus' exposition, and how Melly is on the near horizon).

Or it could quite literally be saying "Here pookie, stop running and succumb to the delulu" and putting hunter Alice into concretion But I think it's also probably just saying regardless that Alice is the direct sacrifice that Orpheus believes will keep the games going (clearly something went wrong) given how lambs are treated within religion and folklore.

I also did replay It and select every visit option I could for that sweet loredrop and I haven't seen anyone talk about this either.

The person literally saying that is young orph (orphan, If you will). The whole muse corridor points into details about the raid itself, which is odd because just a cutscene prior was Alice getting chased by hallucinations down that same corridor. It got me thinking about how IDV developers have considered giving Alice a hunter form.

So what do I know about this bird?? Uh the bare minimum actually but it can serve as some type of drop with how the story's going. He's not saying Alice is the Nightingale. He's saying she's better than it, which could resort to the potentiality of hunter Alice taking on the form of a "nightingale" if we go off the fact that most identity swaps with heavy lore (at least in da Capo's case) is based on either regression, repression, or insecurities.

Norton - Repression. He's not keeping up face when it comes to his identity swap. Literally chaos incarnate. Orpheus - Projection. Nightmare can quite literally be called Orpheus' Mary Sue oc. That's the post. Mary/Frederick technically isn't influenced more by Frederick himself but rather Alice's way of seeing it. Which fucks up a lot but let's not talk about it. I'd say it leans more towards Identification.

Melly could potentially have some correlation to the odd point Orph brought up

Which is probably saying that Mr good ol plinius wasn't loyal and probably either had an affair or did something behind melly's back.

If the point of Alice being braver than the Nightingale is anything to go off of and whatnot then it could be safe to say her identity could be based off that if she ever gets one. It could play off of her bravery and need to look towards the future as opposed to Orpheus being stuck in the past. It could also explain why we haven't heard or seen much when it comes to Nightingale, because of two reasons

they're saving her for some big story update much like the rest of the da capo identity swaps.

Orpheus has been PROVEN to be an unreliable narrator. Surely wanting to dissect Orpheus under a microscope isn't delusional enough.

•synopsis it's the holidays, you and your husband never went on your honeymoon, and if another parent calls your phone one more time you just might SCREAM! so, to get away from the hustle and bustle of in-laws and work calls, you book a flight for you two to go to paris.

“A-alright Ms. Thompson. Yes ma’am. Yes ma’am. I will. Yes ma’am. You do the same. Okay ma’am. Bye.” You hang up the phone and sit inside the extra room you and your husband created into a studio, letting out a huge and heavy sigh.

You rest your phone down, bring your hands to your hair, and rest it on your work desk with a thunk that reverberates through the entire apartment. Your husband turns off the stove that was currently cooking you guys dinner, and walks over to the studio room with worry on his face.

He pats his hands on his apron, and adjusts his towel on his shoulder once he reaches to the door. Then he pushes it open to see you sitting there with your head down; leg bouncing up and down subconsciously. He smiles sadly at your state, and clears his throat to let you know he’s by the door.

“Another parent?” Jake, your husband of almost two years, asks inquisitively.

“The fifth one today. I’m just about ready to put my phone on, do not disturb and call it a day, but I’m waiting on a call from mom.” You reply, lifting your head to look at him from behind you.

You do a once over, then you turn your chair around to soak in his appearance. Ivory colored dress shirt with the sleeves pushed up to his elbows. Forest green apron over his work clothes. Hands folded in front of him in a way that emphasizes his biceps. You slowly drag your eyes back up to his, and you blink in surprise to see him blushing under your strong gaze.

“It’s best if you don’t put it on DND my love. If she can’t get to you, then she’ll be calling me. We both know I’m the worst person to call after 6pm, because my phone is on silent since the most important person to me is already where I can see her.” Jake replies, and you look away to hide your growing smile.

“Besides, I don’t see why you’re so against the parents calling you. You’ve been keeping in contact with them all semester.” He continues, pushing himself off of the doorframe to walk behind you and massage your shoulders.

You melt in his touch, mind slowly losing the words you had on the tip of your tongue, and you just relax at his ministrations. Once he stops for a few seconds to let you talk, you do.

“I kept in contact with them because they trusted me with their kids every single weekday for the past three or so months. I’m glad they’re happy with their child’s performance this semester, but for me to be getting calls left and right since yesterday is just absurd. Like, come on man. We’re on break for crying out loud.” You start to rant, slouching in the chair as he continues to massage your shoulders.

He lets you talk about how you feel, and you gladly take up his offer as you spill it all out to him. As much as you loved your students, you also wanted a break from anything work related. All this school and grades talk from the parents aren’t helping you in that area.

Jake lets you blow off some steam, and when he knows you’re done, he leans over you to open up your laptop for you. He then plants a kiss on your forehead, then your cheeks, then your nose. You turn back to look at him as you giggle in joy. Then he pecks your lips. Once, twice, three times. Again and again he dives in and claims your lips. Once you’re smiling so wide that you can’t peck his lips any longer (for now), he smiles brightly back at you, resting your foreheads together for a few seconds.

“Now that you’ve talked it all out, how about you shop for some stuff, and I’ll call you to let you know when dinner’s ready. Does that sound good?” He asks, looking down at you once he moves his forehead away from yours and stands up to look at the love of his life.

“That sounds great. We’ll talk a bit more once the food’s done?”

“Of course. I’ll always listen to you.”

“As will I, Jake. As will I.”

“Babe?!” is what pulls Jake out of his cooking induced headspace, and he turns off the stove once more to go to his wife.

“Yes my love?” He replies once he reaches the door, and he shakes his head with a smile on his face once he notices that you’re very immersed in whatever you’re doing on the laptop.

“Yes or no?” you ask, and the question causes him to stiffen for a few moments, before he opens his mouth and just answers,

“Yes.” a small smile on his face once he sees you nod your head at his confirmation.

“Alright, cool. Thank you my darling.” You say in gratitude.

“Anything for you my love.” He replies.

Jake walks back to the kitchen to continue with his dinner, mind going back into his cooking headspace, and the short interaction is forgotten by the time he finishes the meal and calls you to the table.

The food is graced, the table is plated and the steam from the food dances around the air once you two sit down, and before you can pick up your utensils to eat, your phone rings off. You apologize to your husband for the disturbance and answer the phone at the table, listening to your mom and whatever it was that she needed to tell you so desperately.

You hang up the phone with a promise to check in more often, and you finally put your phone on DND, resting it down on the table and picking up your utensils to eat. Jake tells you about his day at work, and you listen to him speak without making any noise, just like he did to you earlier. He then tells you how his boss reminded him of his untouched vacation time, and like a light bulb being turned on, he remembers the conversation from earlier.

He lets you talk after he gets his day out of the way, and when you're done (and the food’s been devoured) he asks you about it.

“You’re gonna tell me what I agreed to, or am I gonna be kept out of the dark until it happens?” He asks as he’s drying the dishes you hand to him.

“Oh yeah! While I was shopping, I got an email from the airline we usually use that told me I had enough points to get a select few flights for really cheap. I mean, obviously I had to grab it. We both need a little break, and it’s been a while since we went away; just the two of us.” You rambled on, completely missing the way Jake’s eyes bulged out of his head in shock once he realizes he basically agreed to you two going on a little vacation with little to no planning.

“You what?” is all he could force himself to ask.

“I booked us a flight! Jake, let’s go to Paris!” You reply enthusiastically, eyes shining as you turn to him with a bright smile on your face that makes it hard to say no to.

“We’re not going to Paris.” He sternly implies, flinching once he sees you deflate.

“Why not? You need a break from your job. Everyone knows if I get another call from a parent I’m gonna get off of this piece of land one way or the other.” You inquire.

“It’s three days before the holidays for one. Quite frankly the busiest time of the year for the traveling business. Getting a cheap ticket from our regular airline right around their busiest time seems a bit suspicious. We also have to plan where to sleep, what we’re gonna see when we get there, how long we’re staying there. All of this has to be taken into consideration, love.”

“It’s something we can discuss together. And besides, I may be a bit drifty, but I sure as heck ain’t ditzy. I checked the prices, and the travel time. I even emailed them to make sure it wasn’t a scam before I asked you earlier. The prices were so low even I couldn’t believe it, and I was the one shopping. And besides, it’s after the holidays. We’ll be gone and back before you know it. So, please? Can we go?” You lay out to him, and you can see that he’s genuinely contemplating it once he rests his towel down and gives you his undivided attention.

He stands there for a couple moments, looking at you as you look at him. Then he sighs heavily. You totally have this trip in the bag! Time to pack your bags.

“We’re not going to Paris, and that’s final.”

“I can’t believe we’re going to PARIS!” You giddily exclaim once Jake parks the car to the airport.

“Neither can I.” Jake deadpans, and puts his hands up in surrender when you glare at him.

“Hey! Think of it this way, we’re finally going on the honeymoon we deserve.” You try to reason, but that seems to upset him further.

“We both know that we’d rather mop the bottom of the ocean than to go anywhere other than our predetermined spot for our honeymoon. I will much rather refer to it as our alone time.” Jake snarkily follows up.

“Okay fine. I’m sorry for booking a trip for the both of us, and not properly consulting you about it. I should’ve asked, not only because we’re husband and wife, but because it was your money in the first place, and your opinion on the matter weighs just as much as mine.” You place your hand in his, and lean on his arm as you blink your pretty lashes at him.

Jake rolls his eyes with a smile on his face and places a soft kiss on your lips, a reply to your apology. He pulls the suitcase from you and accepts your apology verbally. Then, both of you head into the airport; ready to get away from it all. Even if it’s only for a short while.

You lay skin to skin with your lover as you drift to and from dreamland. Your chest rises and falls in time with Jake’s as you caress his face gently. Your heart is filled once you feel the grip on your waist tighten, and you look away from your hand to his eyes to see a huge smile already on Jake’s face.

“The love I have for you pumps with every beat of my heart. And I will continue to love you as long as my heart continues to beat within my chest.” Jake says after a few moments, hand around your waist skimming up your body to wipe the tears from your eyes.

“The sun that rises on the horizon can help paint a million portraits of the sky to come. The clouds that scatter in the air can assist in creating a hundred masterpieces once the sun ends its shift. None of that can even step a foot to the beauty you bring along with you everywhere you go.” He continues, kissing the crown of your head at the end of the last sentence.

“The love you give me reminds me of cafes on a spring day; a warmth so rare, yet so inviting that when you stray too far from it, you long for more. I long to stay by your side forevermore. As the sun paints the sky orange, then red, then yellow, then pink, I want to be beside you to see it all.” Jake finishes.

You rub his cheek one more time before your lips crash into his. Your hands rub his nape in a gentleness that contrasts greatly from the passion and fervor. Your lips move back and his lips chase, capturing it again and again. Loving you again and again. You continue to tangle yourselves up within each other, lost within each other once more.

BONUS

“I can’t believe they were out of croissants. This is like … the third cafe to tell us this. Should I just give up on my dreams of eating a croissant on a winter day in Paris?” You ask Jake, who’s taking a video of you because he saw how joyful you looked in the snow earlier.

“Let’s try two more cafes before you give up, my love.” Jake advises, and snaps a picture of you unconsciously pouting in dismal.

“You have to buy me three croissants if we find some.” You bargain.

“Anything for you, my love.” Jake accepts easily.

Good Afternoon! If seen your spiels and tales for a while now and may I just say I adore it all, you’re quite talented in your work and you should be proud of yourself! I aspire to write as well and I’m wondering if you have some tips for the long run?

Honestly, not much has changed, at least for me. It would be interesting to find out whether the tagging rules truly are still the same from the past but from recent experience I can tell you that posting regularly is the key to building a following. But at the same time I know now, more than ever, it's just not doable under normal life circumstances unless you find a rhythm to write and use the queue to schedule your posts.

If you want to write yandere stories specifically, personally, for me it's very important to be balanced. Like a super strong yandere is always cool, but it's cooler if they are so delusional that they will end up hurting their darling with their strength. Or a manipulative yandere is fun and tricky, but if it turns out they are deadly afraid of being left alone and are a bit pathetic about it, that's yummy! Also, depending on the darling, the yan's personality might change as well. I guess what I want to say, balance out the parts of the story to keep it more "realistic" and less Mary-Sue-Behavior. Not always possible or necessary because an OP yan has its benefits in certain situations, but it makes for a good story if there are some flaws in everything.

Also use the tropes. As harsh as it is, no idea of yours will ever be completely original. But I love retellings of ideas! And so do others! I don't care how many more times I read the same "chased by a monster only to be pinned down to the dirty ground" I will literally inhale these stories!!!! I love them!!! And you will put new words and new spins to it, so it will never feel dull!! So yeah, absolutely nothing wrong to lean into tropes and cliches. It might even be very beneficial for bringing your writing closer to people.

For warnings, I'd say, depending on if you do requests or your own work, always warn everything you find problematic in your own works before the story starts and add warnings if someone asks for them. For request, do the same if you derail from the original request too much to not warn (like, have sexual acts/gore/etc. suddenly even though it wasn't specifically requested). I'm not a fan of warning if the request is very clearly what the story will be, but do as you are comfortable. It's your blog. In the end, no one can tell you what to do, but of course don't be mean about it.

Doing requests is fine, but doing your own ideas is also fine. Of course, starting out with only your original ideas can be hard if you don't have a community built already, but you can always mix fanworks with OG writing. I know it's tempting to say "others do it too and they manage to just write their own things" or "I don't want to write for fandoms" but it will be very hard if you do. It's just the truth, tumblr isn't for original content in writing, it has always been for fandoms and blogging and art. It got better over the years but it still is.

Following up with this is: don't compare yourself to other writers/artists on here please, honestly, if you keep finding yourself discouraged by how much more likes and interactions they get, you should unfollow them. It's harsh. I love the stories and the writers of some blogs here, but I had to prioritize myself. Sometimes I sneak back to check out what I missed, but it will still get whiplash and compare myself.

In the same notion: If someone is mean or an idiot in your asks just block them and move on. Drama can entice people to interact with you, but it's not the kind of interactions you want constantly. And it honestly ruins you vibes if your blog becomes dramacentral. It's okay to speak out sometimes and make it clear that you don't want certain kinds of interactions, but feeding the trolls will only end in more and more and soon you feel bad and your followers feel bad, while the trolls are thriving. 9/10 cases it's just not worth it. Block and if it was a crossed boundary, let your people know afterwards unrelated to an ask.

And most importantly: pease just have fun. Put your ideas out there for the sole reason that no one will ever put them into your words the way you would. Of course it's impossible to ignore likes and interactions because it really does fuel the motivation. But I wish you two that you can create because it makes you happy. The rest will follow.

Thank you for calling my rant cute (HUGS). Okay, but now, fr, let's get into this.

When Ning first discovered Serim watering a dead plant, she waited until she was done watering and caring for said plant and threw it away (bad move, Ning). Around 20 minutes go by, and Serim is just screaming ANGELICA, OH ANGELICA, WHERE ARE YOU. Ning is confused to see Serim lying delirious on the floor where the plant used to be. Ning then tells her that she threw the plant away. Serim then proceeds to cry into Ning's shoulder. Hence, Ningning lets Serim water dead plants.

PLANT SNSD. Let's just say Taeyeon is hanging on for dear life (Serim parys to it every day, Why? I don't know; I don't make the rules). I feel like Serim has a corner of her apartment designated for her snsd plants. All of the snsd plants excluding 2 are alive and well. One is obviously Taeyeon, and the other is none other than..... Yuri, the African milk tree (Euphorbia Trigona). We will never know why Serim has this in her house. Let's just say that Taeyeon looks like a god compared to this poor plant.

Yes, ningning gets into plants only for her first plant to get killed by none other than the gay herself, Serim. Let's just say Serim and Jennie had a bit too much soju.... and serim thought it was a good idea to give Ning's baby plant a little drink, too. Ning, when she later went to Serims apartment, found her plant... dead, killed by soju.

Weedville - A love story between a twink gardening teacher and a confused idol named Ningning who doesn't know how she ended up in this odd girl's class. Ning then discovers that her teacher is delusional because she talks to the plants and sings songs (I imagine Serim randomly singing Gangnam style to plant Taeyeon).

Also, this was so fun to write. I usually get so sick of writing that I need to add Sid the Sloth quotes to make me feel better.

Also, could you, perchance, can create an anon name for mauh (hair flip) I'm to lazy too, or we can just stick with serim and ning twink agenda lady.

The only thing I want to say is that it's incredibly weird that it's Kim "Privacy" Taehyung. When Santana cries in the hallway and says "I used to love coming here, but now it just reminds me of everything that I've lost"

I know that the writers meant it as she lost Finn but because I'm a lit student I always analyse the shit out of everything so I always look at that like she's talking about a lot more than just Finn.

I always think its because she comes back to McKinley and shes reminded of all of her aspirations and what she wanted to achieve. Also specifically about Brittany. Because I would think that going back to McKinley would make her think about her and Brittany.

I’m not a lit student but I can relate to wanting to analyse the shit out of everything haha. I think there can be more than Finn to it even if we don’t go digging that deep. The episode is about mourning Finn and Cory and I do believe Santana is struggling with the weight of that, but grief often brings out other strong emotions. Up to this point in the episode, that had been anger for Santana. But here she just looks exhausted and like she really is done with McKinley.

All of what you say and more is a part of it. That’s the best way to look at it, in my opinion. Although this feeling of being just done with Lima is brought on by Finn’s passing, it embodies all these different things that Santana had been holding onto and how wants to get rid of. Part of that is Brittany, as even here in The Quarterback Santana’s back where they fell in love but Brittany’s away at MIT and without her being there, walking down the hallways doesn’t feel right. Regarding her aspirations, I think Santana mostly just wants to be done with her high school persona and get the hell back to New York where she can at least hope to explore new things. McKinley also reminds her of how lost she was, and make no mistake, Santana in season 5A is still very much lost. But I also think she’s desperate to leave these heavy feelings behind and get back to her now cozy New York life.

When Santana says she used to love coming back, I’m assuming she’s referring to her season 4 returns when she hadn’t truly left McKinley yet. Finn and his leadership of the club was a big part of that and the weight of that, as well as her complicated relationship with Finn is hitting her. I’d like to think they ended in an okay place in season 4 and I’m delusional enough to pretend season 4 had a proper Finntana friendship. But still, with so much hurt in their history this is just way too heavy for Santana. And then you factor in Brittany, and then you add how miserable Santana was for most of high school, how she’s trying to escape that feeling of being lost, and it makes sense. It makes sense that she now associates McKinley with loss and she just wants to be done with it. I see her eagerness to go back to NYC as a bit of good old running away from problems, which do eventually catch up with her. But yeah bottom line is I agree that it’s a complex mess of many different things, including but not limited to Brittany.

Ever since I read the take that season 5 as a whole is best viewed through the lens of grief I haven’t been the same. I think grief is one of those things that bleeds into your everyday life, inevitably, and maybe other kinds of hurt bleed into grief, too. So it’s no wonder Santana feels so overwhelmed here, especially because she spends half the episode being incredibly closed off to even the idea of vulnerability. No wonder If I Die Young ends the way it does, no wonder she blows up at Sue the way she does. I don’t normally go into too much of an analysis with The Quarterback because, well, it’s a special case, but I do think there’s so much there. Particularly for Santana. I really like how they handle her in this episode.

I still find the accusation of deception the most preposterous, and it's probably the worst representation of parasocial interaction. Actors are, by their trade, selling you entertaining deceptions. They are acting. It's not real. That's their job, and we audience engage with them per this contract that everything on screen is made up. When a character dies in the show, the actor isn't actually dead! Pup isn't really a monk! James isn't really an Elon Musk type! Stuff like that.

So to accuse actors and entertainers, broadly, for duplicity is as ridiculous as accusing a boxer of being good at boxing. Or accusing potatoes of being carbohydrates.

If I recall correctly, you mentioned being ready to protect a Thai actor because he's some BL actor but is married to a wife (or has a girlfriend). That reminded me of an incident my best friend told me while we were chatting.

She said there was this time when two pairs of BL actors (she coded them as Pair A + B, and Pai C +D since I don't know them and their names weren't the point) got massively flacked by fans because B kissed C on camera when the four friends were hanging out. Fans apparently saw it as a betrayal of the "BL pairing," even though all four of them were just vlogging their activities not as characters they play.

You have no idea how happy I am to receive this ask because I've been wanting to talk about that couple incident that you're referring to since forever but I've never gotten the chance to properly collect my thoughts about it. Thank you for allowing this opportunity to ramble about this and for your very introspective questions.

So firstly to give some context to it, I think it's a bit more important to cover some background information of the two pairings that you're talking about.

OffGun and TayNew are some of the oldest pairings in GMMTV. They are known to all be good friends with each other (if not to say they're each other best friends). They've all done non-BL works with different actors but in terms of promotions, OffGun and TayNew have always been regarded to be the 'pillars' of GMMTV (their company) branded pairings.

Even though the four people are close with each other, Tay is particularly close with Gun (and this is public fact known by everyone who follows them), often teasingly calls each other pet/master and have some hangouts/vacations with just them two.

In the case of TayGun, I think their playful kiss being caught unexpectedly on livestream caused so much reactions was because it's a private moment between them. BL fans are too used with using private moments (re:clips of casual skinship between actors during work events and non-work livestream) to prove the existence of their closeness or togetherness -> so when New accidentally turned his camera to show Gun playfully kissing Tay during livestream, I think many (outraged) fans falsely equated that TayGun kissing in private like that means they're romantically involved to a certain degree.

Even though Tay has come out to explain that it isn't the case and that Gun was just playfully teasing him, there were still so much flacks thrown his way. Even with clarifications from both sides, you can basically see from the comments section of these Tiktoks (1, 2, 3, 4) that there is a considerable portion of OffGun and TayNew upset and disappointed (even though there is no reason to). I'll just translate some of the Vietnamese ones because those are the comments that show up first for me.

For those who follow [OffGun], you'll already know that Gun has been avoiding skinship from Off since 2022, fans used to think that he was shy but now we get it 🥲

I think it's both common and not. So 'common' is in the sense that whenever one half of a branded pairing or 'koojin' is close and intimate with another person or displaying any possibilities of them being involved with said person in real life, it always trigger these reactions from shipper fans to immediately deny that possibilities or to attack the actors in the branded pairing as if they have 'deceived' their fans.

This has infinitely lessened in recent years with actors actively taking a stance against their fans harrassing their colleagues over ships but in general we still see it now and then with popular/rising/active ships or inactive ships but with astronomically huge fandoms (see: reactions of brightwin fans to bright's dating news).

I'm also saying it's uncommon for 'two halfs of two different popular BL pairings to get rumored to be together' but in 2024, it has already happened twice so who knows what's real really 😅 Aside from the case of TayNew/OffGun, there's also the case of actors Mew and Tul (who were both parts of ships with HUGE fandoms MaxTul and MewGulf) confirming their in real life relationship but their news was more well received internationally as neither of their old ships have been active in having series together for a while (i still see flacks for both of them here and there but that's because i'm vietnamese and vietnamese negative reactions are always the ones i see first to any dating news of one half of a BL pairing).

Why do fans think this way, when these are just actors and not the real characters? Is it similar to the issue of fans of Kpop, Jpop, or even Cpop artists who cannot accept their idols marrying or dating anyone?

I think there are several reasons like actors and companies contributing to the delusions of shipper fans and fans not being able to separate real life actors from the characters they play on screen, which have been extensively discussed in these Reddit threads (1, 2) so I won't delve into them. I'll just focus on a common reason i've seen from vietnamese fans being the combination of emotional and financial investment in these ships.

Similar to Kpop, Jpop or even Cpop idols as you've mentioned, there's a large degree of parasocial relationship involved between a CP/idol and their fans. Rather than the Kpop idol feeding fans the delusion of them being an attractive yet attainable, relatable, single person, these 'koojins' offer CP fans the image of a beautiful friendship/'will they/won't they'/'ambiguous more than friends, less than lovers' relationship -> so once there is a strong emotional attachment to the actors who are part of a pairing, fans will inevitably have strong feelings about their romantic life aka whether the CP is really together or not.

Even though branded pairings or 'love teams' have been an age old phenomenon since the dawn of television (not just in Southeast Asia but in Hollywood as well), I think this phenomenon has flourished particularly in Southeast Asia with many successful stories of actors having on-screen to off-screen real life romances (see: KathNiel in the Philippines, NadechYaya in Thailand...)

What do the companies hiring or signing these actors do to mitigate such an issue/protect their actors? and How does an incident like this usually get resolved?

I think one of the most interesting things about Thailand entertainment industry is that it's so easy for celebrities to sue people for online defamation. So rather than making any statements to 'save' their branded pairings or to resolve any confusion, the company doesn't do anything (which I understand because the artists are already clarifying themselves to the nosy press about any 'possible scandals that happened'). In the case that online commenters are getting too toxic, the artists can just screenshot the toxic tweets/posts, send them to the company's legal department and those defamation cases get resolved by the police.

But even then, that hasn't really stopped fandoms that are too large in size, too delusional in mind to do the crazy things they do even after a branded pairing has stopped working together, such as showing up at the fanmeeting of one actor, wearing masks of the other actor in that inactive ship. In this case, the company can't do anything since... well those people paid to attend the fanmeeting and get a photo with their idol. The most a company could do is probably to 'officially announce the ending of the ship' but... their comments section are still full of obsessed fans til this day so i doubt that announcement made any difference to the fully obsessed and delusional cp fans.

Or... Do the companies cash in on this sort of fanatic fervor, such that they encourage fans to believe this illusion, or mandate their actors to uphold such an illusion even when they are being themselves outside of acting?

Companies have always generated as much revenue from brand endorsement, brand promotions fanmeetings, concerts, selling merchs of these pairisings as they do from producing and airing these series if not more, so I've also felt a sense of these companies capitalizing upon their branded pairings and the volatileness of delusional fans.

If you're interested here and here are two interviews with P'Tha, the CEO of GMMTV company which TayNew and OffGun are under, I think his sharings in these interviews are very insightful into how the companies view these branded pairings (the main source of income for these companies basically).

I wouldn't say that the companies mandate or force their actors to act a certain to create an illusion of an ambiguous/are they aren't they ship for any branded pairings, but i DO think that being in an environment where two people (who are part of a branded pairing) are constantly being shipped or teased by co-workers and sometimes even the ceo himself... that does make shipper fans more delusional than they normally would. it's like as if you were in a class and everyone around you start shipping two people or pushing two people to be together, you'd be questioning what the others know about those two that you don't... it's 'sus' as the cp fans will say 😂

I think there's all sorts of opinions that pops up whenever there's news of someone dating surfaces, there are no consensus on it because the feelings of the fans rely largely on how emotionally invested they are in the actors/real people. There are fans who will take the news harder (feeling tricked, deceived, all that jazz) and there are also fans who will feel like 'oh that's normal' or they would rejoice in the happiness of their favorite actor having an in real life parner. Also it's probably important to note that the stance of Thai BL fans do not necessarily align with the stance of general Thai audience, for example when Thai actor Bright revealed his girlfriend Nene, basically the entire Thai netizen is supportive of him whereas his previous branded pairing fans are divided between supporting him and feeling 'betrayed' by this reveal.

Lastly: what do you think, personally, is central to this sort of incident?

Personally, I think it's fans' expectations. Similar to what Monk Dol told Dear about not holding on to things too tightly, I think fans often hold on to the romantic stories portrayed on screen more strongly than they do with non-romantic stories. Therefore, the reality of an actor having a real life partner often dispels this illusion of a 'screen-to-life' romance stories that fans may have concocted in their mind for any pairings not limited to whether they are in queer love or straight love stories.

I feel like it's just much easier for fans of straight pairings to move on since they don't get paired repeatedly as leads together every 1-2 years and they often don't have couples' work (like promoting brands togethers...) long after the ending of their series together, contrasting with branded pairings in BL/GL series who still get brands work together after the ending of their series -> allowing their "ship" fanbase to grow and the fans to have even larger expectations of the actors to have future works together.

Again it might be a lot of me to ask that these dedicated fans not to have expectations (which may eventually lead to their own suffering) because logically these fans do pour in not just emotional investment but also like HUGE financial investment so having expectations are really inevitable ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ perhaps they should watch สาธุ and learn to let go of having any expectations for a ship or an idol which will benefit all parties involved 😅

JJ Krissanapoom is a prolific Thai actor whose works I've followed really early on in my journey of Thai media consumation. I just finished reading the byler powerpoint and honestly it scared the crap out of me. The past few weeks I have been trying to fully convince myself that Byler was never going to happen and we were just being queer baited. It has been partially a way to protect myself and prepare myself for the disappointment of it not happening. I am determined to not get my hopes up and then look like a clown come volume 2 when byler doesn’t happen. And then I read through your beautiful slide show. And I am not doing okay because it has fully convinced me that Byler has been planned from the beginning and is destined to happen. And now I’m completely terrified because I am no longer protected from the possibility of it not happening. I am praying that you are right and I feel like all the evidence you listed cannot all be a coincidence. But I’m just so used to being disappointed and my ships not becoming canon. It doesn’t help that everyone outside of tumblr basically acts like us byler shippers are delusional. So I just wanted to inform you of the way you changed my life and let you know I will personally hold you accountable and sue for emotional damages if byler does not happen. We did submit the letter and we sent it we gave him a certain amount of time and then we told the people were going to sue them and it's the department and their reaction was negative and then we filed the lawsuit and they accepted it because you're not the same department and they're going to keep it to themselves in a different peoples and yes bja in The inheritance department and he's a fool. So the city of salt lake is going to allow the suit and this is Dee's reaction partially and bolge.
