Make You Remember
Yoo Jimin (Karina) x Reader
GENRE: angst, fluff
TYPE: One Shot
Inspired by: Make You Remember - Lazy Weekends
A/N: iâve been in a writing slump this year, but every now and then, iâd come here to read. recently, a few pieces caught my attention and reignited my urge to write. so, here we are! while revisiting my 2018 spotify playlists for a dose of nostalgia, i stumbled upon one of my favorite songs from back thenâit felt like the perfect way to ease back into writing. (a little shoutout to @2cool-2die, her stories were what got me back into writing). anyway, hope you all enjoy the story!
âStop staring at her like a creep,â Minjeong whispered, her large eyes narrowing in a protective glare.
Jimin couldnât help herself. She had been watching you for the past hourâwatching the way you threw your head back in laughter at something your friends said or carefully picked the tomatoes off your sandwich to hand them off to someone else. Her fists clenched at the sight.
You used to pluck off tomatoes and feed them to her, letting her play your knight in shining armor against your sworn enemy: tomatoes. It shouldâve been her.
Oh, how she missed that smile you used to reserve just for her.
âDude, Iâm serious,â Minjeong hissed again, this time throwing a balled-up tissue at Jiminâs face. âThis is getting out of hand.â
Jimin grunted in annoyance, lazily stretching her long arms overhead before sprawling out on the metal bench. Her head landed on Aeriâs lap as if she didnât have a care in the world.
âI canât help it. I miss her,â she admitted quietly, closing her eyes as Aeri absentmindedly began combing through her soft raven-black hair with her fingers.
âWell, you shouldâve done better,â NingNing said flatly, taking a deep drag from her Juul. âShe really loved you, you know.â
The girls expected Jimin to snap back, as she always did. Instead, they watched her deflate entirely, burrowing her face into Aeriâs stomach for solace.
âI know.â
.
.
.
.
Jimin had always been sure of herself. She was proud of her decisions, every one of them. After all, she had transferred from one of the top universities in the UK to pursue her passion for dance in Koreaâa choice that went against her parentsâ wishes. They had warned her about the instability of a dance career, but sheâd proved them wrong.
She had met Minjeong, Aeri, and NingNing shortly after her return, and together, they formed a dance group. Now in her third year of university, Jimin was part of AESPA, a group that had skyrocketed to fame after winning first place in a national competition.
With a growing fanbase, a promising future, and an upcoming performance in front of the president at the annual ceremony, Jimin had every reason to be proud of her choices.
Every reasonâexcept for letting you go.
She had met you during her first year back in Korea. You were the universityâs student ambassador, tasked with introducing new students to campus life. Since she was the only mid-semester transfer at the time, Jimin had the luck of spending the entire day with you, just the two of you.
You captivated her immediately. Your soft, angelic voice, dry sense of humor, and those big brown eyes that lit up with excitement over the smallest thingsâŠlike the library. Jimin had thought you were the lamest, cutest little thing sheâd ever met. And from that moment, she was hooked.
Jimin made it her mission to sweep you off your feet. Surprised but not surprised, you had plenty of admirers. You were popular, down-to-earth, and undeniably beautiful, the kind of person who effortlessly drew others in. That only made Jimin's task harder, pushing her to work tirelessly to win your heart.
To everyone else, you were the classy student ambassador, smart, athletic, and poised. But Jimin knew the truth: beneath all that polish, you were a total nerd.Â
So, she went out of her way to prove how much she cared. Sheâd pick you up from class with your favorite snacks, even when her schedule was packed.
She once secretly drove across state lines to attend an anime expo, just to get you those rare PokĂ©mon cards youâd been obsessing overâŠthough she swore she lost at least a million cool points doing it. But every second was worth it when she saw your face light up. Jimin even sat through every Avengers movie, biting back sarcastic remarks just to see you smile.Â
Before long, you were hers and she was yours. You found yourself snuggled into her arms during late-night movie marathons, or cheering from backstage as she started entering dance competitions.
You were her there to support when she doubted herself after losing a dance battle, always ready with a hug and soft kisses. You were AESPA's unofficial fifth member, helping them set up for street performances and cheering louder than anyone else when they won.
And when AESPA skyrocketed to fame, you stood faithfully by her side, despite the growing distance you felt creeping in.Â
But fame did something to Jimin. Slowly, the girl who once drove hours for Pokémon cards began to lose sight of the things that mattered. You were the first to notice the changes. Jimin started craving the spotlight more than anything else, and you quietly faded into the shadows.
You stopped bringing up your hobbies after a fan on her livestream mocked you for being childish. You stopped asking her for late-night drives when her excuses became more frequent. And you stopped waiting for her to notice how tired you looked, how empty you felt.Â
She didnât notice when you began packing up your prized PokĂ©mon collection, throwing it all away as if erasing a piece of yourself. She didnât notice when you started leaving events early, hiding the hurt behind a polite smile. Jimin was so caught up in her world of adoration, flashing lights, and applause that she failed to see you slipping through her fingers.Â
She didnât notice until it was far too late. By the time she turned around, desperate to hold onto what was left, you were already gone. She had lost you. And in losing you, she lost the part of herself that had once felt complete.
.
.
.
.
âCâmon, Jimin. Get out of your head.â Jimin slapped her forehead in frustration as she stumbled through the routine once again.
The sound of sneakers squeaking on the polished floor was followed by a collective groan from the rest of the girls, who collapsed onto the studio floor in exhaustion. AESPA was under pressure. They were supposed to perfect a dance routine for a massive ad collaboration, a career-defining moment. But with finals looming and the team juggling school and practice, their patience was wearing thin.Â
âIâm really sorry, guys,â Jimin said quietly, glancing at her exhausted teammates sprawled on the floor.
Aeriâs pink hair stuck to her damp face, and Minjeong lay flat on her back, staring blankly at the ceiling like sheâd lost her will to live.Â
âItâs been three months, Jimin.â NingNing sighed, rubbing her temples. âWhen are you going to get over her? This isnât like you.âÂ
âIâm trying,â Jimin muttered, her gaze locked on her scuffed sneakers, her throat tight with unshed tears. âBut at the same timeâŠI donât want to.âÂ
âWell, what do you want, then?â Aeri asked, sitting up with a tired glare.
She was drained. She was tired of practice, of exams, and most of all, of watching her leader spiral into a deep abyss of self-hatred and regret in front of her.Â
Jimin hesitated, her dark brows knitting together as if weighing the weight of her answer.
âI want her back,â she finally admitted. âI want Y/N back.âÂ
âAbsolutely not,â Minjeong snapped, suddenly sitting up and joining the conversation. Her arms crossed, and her expression was livid. âYou broke her, Jimin. You fucking broke her heart.âÂ
Jimin lowered her head, guilt weighing heavy on her shoulders, but her she had already made this decision days ago. After finding one of your old LEGO pieces buried under her bed, a reminder of simpler, happier times, she had cradled it in her hands and cried like a baby.
That night, she spiraled into a social media stalking session, scrolling through your photos, searching for any trace of the love she had destroyed. That was when she decided sheâd do whatever it took to make things right.Â
âIâll treat her right this time,â Jimin whispered, her voice trembling.
âIâll do anything to make her happy.âÂ
Minjeong stood abruptly, storming over to Jimin, her smaller frame radiating fiery anger. Despite the height difference, Jimin instinctively cowered under Minjeongâs glare.Â
âDo you know how many times she came to me crying in the middle of the night because you couldnât even show up for a date? How insecure you made her feel? How your stupid fangirls tore her apart?â Minjeong jabbed a finger into Jiminâs chest with every accusation.
âSheâs my best friend, Jimin. I wonât let you hurt her again. She gave you everything. She gave you so many chances, and you let her down every single time.âÂ
The room crackled with tension as Jiminâs lips parted to respond, but no words came out. Sensing a fight about to break out, NingNing and Aeri hurriedly stepped between the two girls.Â
âHey, nowâs not the time to fight,â NingNing said gently, wrapping her arms around Minjeongâs shoulders to pull her back. âWe all care about Y/N, okay? Letâs take a second.âÂ
âPlease,â Jimin pleaded, her voice barely above a whisper. Tears rimmed her eyes, but there was an earnestness in her tone that softened her hardened edges.
âJust give me a chance. I swear Iâll never hurt her again.âÂ
âNo. No fucking way,â Minjeong snapped, her voice firm.Â
âHow about we let Y/N decide herself?â Aeri suggested cautiously, flinching slightly under Minjeongâs searing glare.
âJimin can talk to her. If she says noâŠthen thatâs it. Jimin walks away and never bothers her again.âÂ
The blonde hesitated. She knew how deeply you had loved Jimin and how much it had cost you when things fell apart. Letting Jimin reach out could undo all the progress youâd made. But at the same timeâŠif she stopped this, would you resent her for it?Â
With a heavy sigh, Minjeong finally relented. âFine. Just one sentence. If she reacts badly to whatever you say, you stay the hell away from her. For good.âÂ
Jiminâs lips curved into a genuine smile for the first time in months, a smile full of hope, the kind that crinkled the corners of her eyes.
âOne sentence is more than enough to make her remember.â
.

.
They say the easiest way to someone's heart is through their stomach, so Jimin threw herself into her first mission with relentless determination. The five-hour drive to Busan and back didnât faze herâthis was for you. She needed to remind you of the small things, the little joys you used to share.
The memory of your trips together flooded her mind: your hand in hers, your voice belting off tune to whichever K-pop song was stuck in your head, and your infectious laughter filling the car. She prayed to the gods to hear that laugh again.Â
By the time she returned to Seoul, the darkness of the night had already cloaked the streets. Armed with the pink box of macarons from your hometown bakery, Jiminâs heart raced with anticipation and dread. Aeri had passed along a tip (reluctantly overheard from Minjeong, who would never willingly disclose your whereabouts to Jimin) that you were working a shift at the local bistro.Â
When Jimin walked into the cozy bistro, the soft chime of the bell drew attention from other patrons. Murmurs rippled through the room as people recognized her, AESPAâs leader, a rising star. But Jiminâs focus was on you. Only you.Â
You stood behind the counter, your hair tied up in a messy bun, concentrated on preparing a tray of drinks. You werenât as put-together as you are in school, with your crisp white shirt bearing faint creases, but to Jimin, you were as breathtaking as ever.Â
She made her way to the counter, sitting directly in front of you. She waited, patient and quiet, as you prepared another Long Island, your tongue sticking out in concentration.Â
âHi, sorry for the wait. What can Iââ You froze mid-sentence as your eyes met hers.
Recognition flickered across your face, followed by a flash of pain. Your expression changed into something cold, guarded.Â
âNo.â Your tone was flat, final. âPlease leave.âÂ
Jimin didnât flinch. Her gaze softened, a melancholic smile tugging at her lips. She didnât respond, she couldnât. Not yet, she only had one chance. All she knew was that seeing you here within an arms length, was enough to momentarily soothe the ache in her chest.Â
As much as you tried to suppress it, your heart betrayed you, fluttering at the sight of her. Jimin looked effortlessly stunning, her leather jacket rolled up to reveal familiar tattoos snaking down her forearm. She was exactly how you remembered and yet entirely different.Â
She stared at you for another moment, her silence unnerving. Her eyes brimmed with emotions you couldnât understand. Finally, Jimin rose to her feet, placed the pink box on the counter, and lightly squeezed your arm before turning to leave.Â
You stared at the box, stunned, your mind reeling. It was from your favorite bakery in Busan, the one she had driven hours to visit countless times when you were together. Your chest tightened as you realized the lengths she mustâve gone to for this gesture.Â
But you couldnât let yourself fall for her again. Not this time.Â
âIâll be right back!â you yelled to your coworker, grabbing the box as you stormed out of the bistro.
The cold November air bit at your skin as you scanned the street for her.Â
You found her leaning against a lamppost, a cigarette dangling from her lips. The sight stopped you in your tracks. When had she started smoking again? Fury flared in your chest. You strode toward her, plucking the cigarette from her fingers and tossing it to the ground.Â
âWhat the hell, Jimin?â you snapped, glaring at her. âI thought you quit.âÂ
She continued to stay silent, her dark eyes fixed on you as if trying to engrave your face in her memories.
Your anger wavered. You shouldnât care. You couldnât care. Not after everything. Shoving the pink box back into her hands, you hissed, âDonât ever come to this bistro again.âÂ
The words tasted bitter, and regret coiled in your stomach the moment they left your lips. But you couldnât take them back. Not now.Â
Jimin nodded wordlessly, her lips curling into a soft, bittersweet smileâone that inexplicably cut deeper than any argument could. With that, she turned and walked away, disappearing into the cold night.Â
.
.
.
.
It seemed after that night, Jimin had made it her mission to claw her way back into your life, whether you wanted her to or not. She didnât speak, didnât push, but her presence was always there, an unspoken reminder of everything youâd once shared.
You could feel her eyes on you during lunch, lingering from across the cafeteria as if she thought she could will you to look back. Even on your way to work, you swore youâd catch her silhouette in the distance, leaning against a lamppost or sitting on a nearby bench, always careful not to cross any boundaries but still there.
The weekends were no escape either. When AESPA was invited to perform at the school fair you unfortunately was in charge of organizing, it felt like fate, or perhaps Jimin, was mocking you. She stood front and center, capturing attention with her effortless charm, but every so often her eyes would search for yours in the crowd, a desperate glance that left you feeling raw and exposed.
What annoyed you most, though, was her silence. She never spoke to you, never tried to bridge the impossible gap between you. And yet, as much as it infuriated you, you hated to admit how much you missed her voice.
The way it would rasp slightly in the mornings when she whispered sweet nothings into your ear, or the confident drawl she carried when talking to others.
This Jimin, silent and unsure, almost timid, felt like a stranger. It was disarming, and you werenât sure if you hated her for it or if it broke your heart just a little more.
As much as you tried to build walls around yourself, Jimin had a way of chipping at them, bit by bit, with gestures that felt achingly familiar.
One evening when you finally left the library, you found a gift on the hood of your car, neatly wrapped in brown paper and tied with twine, was a book you had mentioned loving once, years ago before you got together with her, a rare edition of poetry that you never got the chance to buy.
Tucked inside was a small card with her unmistakable handwriting:
For when you need an escape.â J
Your heart twisted painfully, remembering how she used to surprise you with little things like this, whether it was a book, a drink she knew you loved, or a random trinket that reminded her of you.
Another day, on your way home from a long shift, you found her waiting by the campus fountain. She didnât approach, didnât say anything, just held out a single stem of a sunflower, your favorite flower, the kind she used to bring to your dorm every time you aced an exam.
You wanted to yell at her, to demand why she was doing this now, but instead, you took the flower silently, clutching it tightly all the way home.
The memories came rushing back. The way she used to sit with you for hours in the library, pretending to study but really just stealing glances at you over the top of her books. How sheâd wake up early to walk you to class, even if it meant cutting her own sleep short. The nights she stayed up late with you on the phone, talking about nothing and everything until you both fell asleep to the sound of each other's breathing.
Jimin knew exactly how to unravel you, and she was relentless in her quiet persistence.
Another day, after a particularly stressful day, you find yourself staring at a box left outside your apartment. Inside was a Slowpoke doll (you used to call her your SlowPoke because she was always running late and had a knack for falling asleep in random places) and a note:Â
I know how these made you feel like you werenât good enough, but these are the things I love about you. All your interests, your little habitsâŠdonât stop.
You shoved the box under your bed in a haze of shame and anger. Youâd given up your obsession with PokĂ©mon long ago, sacrificing that part of yourself just to appease her fans and their cruel remarks. But as the days stretched on, your resolve wavered. You caught yourself glancing at the box more often than you cared to admit, the memories flooding into your mind.Â
Eventually, you couldnât help yourself. With a reluctant sigh, you pulled the Slowpoke doll from the box and placed it on your bed. That night, you held it close as you drifted off to sleep, comforted by a piece of the past you thought youâd lost.Â
Each gesture tugged at the guarded heart. You hated her for how easily she slipped back into your life, even as you found yourself clutching the flower sheâd given you, rereading her notes late into the night, and biting your lip to suppress the warmth spreading in your chest.
You hated her, and yet, you couldnât deny your feelings for her. You never could.
.
.
.
.
You wrapped your scarf tightly around your neck, shielding yourself from the brisk evening wind as you waited for Minjeong outside the movie theater.
The newest Marvel movie had finally been released, and although youâd downplayed your excitement, your heart raced. Your lame obsession with Avengers had always been a sore spot, especially since Jiminâs fangirls used it to mock you mercilessly.
Over time, you tried to bury that part of yourself, to hide how much you still adored superheroes. It was easier than facing the ridiculeâor the memories tied to it.Â
When Minjeong, your best friend since elementary school, asked if you wanted to see the movie, you hesitated at first. But her easy acceptance of your quirks had always been earnest, so you agreed.
The sound of tires crunching gravel pulled you from your thoughts, and you looked up to see a sleek black Mercedes pulling into the parking lot. Minjeong stepped out, her face drawn in a disgruntled scowl. She spotted you and quickly brightened, crossing the space in a few brisk strides before pulling you into a warm hug.Â
âHey, Y/N-nie. Have you been waiting long?â she asked, her voice light, though her body was stiff against yours.Â
You shook your head, but something about her demeanor made you pause. Your gaze drifted back to the car, the sleek black exterior gleaming under the parking lot lights. A pit formed in your stomach as realization hit.Â
âWas that⊠Jimin?â you asked cautiously.Â
Minjeong froze. Her jaw tightened, her grip on your arms faltering slightly before she let out a resigned sigh. She avoided your eyes as she nodded.
âYeah,â she admitted reluctantly.Â
âSheâs the one who asked me to bring you here,â Minjeong added after a pause. Her tone was careful, measured, as though she were treading on thin ice. âShe even bought the tickets beforehand.âÂ
You blinked at her, stunned.Â
âI didnât want to do it,â Minjeong continued quickly, frustration in her voice. âI told her this was a bad idea, butâŠâ She trailed off, biting her lip as her gaze dropped to the ground.
âShe was persistent.âÂ
Your heart did a strange flip at that. You could almost picture Jimin sitting across from Minjeong, stubborn as ever, insisting that she take you to the movie. She must have known showing up herself would only push you away, so she found a way to make sure youâd still see it. It was so⊠Jimin. Thoughtful in a way that made your chest ache.Â
âSheâs been doing things like this for weeks,â Minjeong muttered, almost to herself. âLittle things. She thinks theyâll fix everything.â Her round eyes flickered with an anger she didnât bother to hide.
âI told her to leave you alone. I told her you didnât need her messing things up again.âÂ
âShe hasnât been bothering me,â you said softly, reaching out to squeeze Minjeongâs hand in reassurance when her voice grew sharp.
âI promise, Jeongnie. She hasnât done anything. Donât worry.âÂ
Minjeongâs shoulders sagged slightly, but her lips pressed into a tight line. âHas she talked to you yet?âÂ
You shook your head. âNo. Weirdly, she hasnât said a word. Just⊠left some gifts every now and then.âÂ
At that, Minjeongâs eyes widened, and she groaned, slapping her forehead.
âIâm so stupid,â she muttered, half to herself.Â
âWhat?â you asked, confused by her sudden exasperation.Â
She shook her head quickly, waving the question away. âNothing. Come on, letâs go inside. The movieâs about to start.âÂ
As she guided you toward the theater, her arm looped protectively through yours. Though Minjeong was close friends with the leader, it was clear she didnât like Jimin trying to worm her way back into your life.
You could see it in the tightness of her jaw, the subtle furrow in her brow. She didnât trust Jimin. Not her promises, not her intentions, and certainly not her ability to heal the wounds sheâd caused. After all, it had been Minjeong who had patiently helped you piece yourself back together, bit by bit.
And yet, the fact that sheâd brought you here today, using Jiminâs tickets, betrayed the tiny sliver of hope she held for her.
.
.
.
.
This was the fifth time that day Jimin walked past the bistro, casually peering through the windows with her hands stuffed in her leather jacket pockets before walking away.
You watched her each time, fidgeting, kicking the ground with her boots, looking like she wanted to step inside but was holding back. It was endearing, not that youâd admit it. But every time, she chose to walk away, opting to follow your words from before instead.
It had begun to snow, and you couldnât stop yourself from worrying.
âStupid oaf,â you muttered, before slipping outside to call out Jiminâs name.
She was already on her sixth round of circling the bistro, her slender figure blending into the gray snowfall.
âYoo Jimin!â You called, your breath forming a cloud in the cold air.
The raven-haired girl stopped in her tracks, her shoulders stiffening before she slowly turned around to look at you. A nervous grin tugged at her lips, and your heart fluttered involuntarily.
âJustâŠjust come in.â You sighed, avoiding her gaze.
Jiminâs face lit up, her eyes sparkling with glee like a little kid as she quickly made her way over.
You led her through the busy bistro, past the tables full of customers, to the counter, exactly where she had sat the first time she came. You couldnât help but feel self-conscious at the way she was staring at you, her face resting in her palms, eyes wide and starry.
Sighing, you pushed the menu to her. âWhat do you want to order?â
Jimin merely looked at you, a silly smile gracing her lips. Your eyes flickered to it, momentarily lost in the soft curve of her mouth and her luscious lips, before quickly looking away.
âFine.â You mumbled, quickly pouring her a cup of warm coffee.
Fortunately, you were distracted by the steady stream of orders. It was a Saturday night, after all, and that meant people were coming in for drinks. You were busy making drinks, serving them, but with Jimin there, it felt different, lighter, happier.
That was when Joon, a usual customer and a tall, blurry figure, stumbled over to the counter, clearly drunk. You tensed instantly. Joon was always handsy when he drank, more often than not, and you always tried to stay out of his way.
âY/NNNNN,â he slurred, leaning way too close for comfort, his breath heavy on the counter.
Jiminâs eyes narrowed, and you saw the muscles in her jaw clench.
âI missed you,â Joon continued, leaning forward, his gaze lingering in a way that made your stomach churn.
âHow about we go on a date? My place is just around the corner.â
âIâm not interested, Joon.â You pushed back, trying to create some space. âPlease, leave me alone.â
Joonâs expression twisted into something more sinister, his hand suddenly reaching over the counter to grab your arm, his fingers digging into your skin. You winced at the pressure, red marks forming on your arm as he held you tight.
Thatâs when Jimin had had enough. She stood up, towering over him, her height equal to his, but with a quiet strength that commanded attention.
âGet. Your. Hands. Off. Her.â Her voice was cold, and before you could react, she pushed Joon off, sending him stumbling backward into the wall.
Joon recovered quickly and swung at Jimin, narrowly missing her face by a hair. You stepped forward, panic flooding your chest, quickly pulling Jimin away from him.
âLet it go, Jimin,â you urged, your voice shaky as you tugged her close to you. âPlease, stop.â
Jimin hesitated, her eyes softening as she looked at you. She reached down and gently cradled the arm that Joon had grabbed, her cold fingers brushing over the tender skin, sending a shiver up your spine.
âIâm okay,â you said, trying to reassure her.
She looked like she was about to say something when a yell from your coworkers snapped your attention back to the scene. You turned just in time to see Joon charging forward, having managed to break free from the grip of your coworkers. His fist collided with Jiminâs temple with a sickening crunch, and she crumpled to the floor.
You screamed, panic rising as onlookers rushed to contain Joon. Jimin lay motionless, and you immediately knelt by her side, heart racing.
âJimin?â You screamed, rushing to her side. The blood had already begun to trickle down her temple, and a bruise was swelling rapidly.
You knelt beside her, panic clawing at your chest. âJimin? Baby? Please, wake up.â
You cupped her pale face in your trembling hands, her skin cool against your palms. She was so still, and it terrified you.
After a few moments of desperate attempts to rouse her, her eyelids finally fluttered open, and you let out a shaky breath of relief.
âOh thank god,â you sighed out in relief, your chest tightening as her eyelids slowly fluttered open.
âJimin? Can you hear me?â
Her cheeks were squished as your hands cupped her face. You might have found it cute if you werenât so worried. Her dazed expression and the way her chubby cheeks puffed out only made your heart ache more.
âAm I dreaming?â she asked, a dopey smile still lingering on her lips.
You leaned back, running a hand through your hair in relief and exasperation.
âNo, Jimin,â you said, your voice barely above a whisper. âYou just got punched. This is very real.â
Her grin faltered in realization. Her eyes widened in horror as she scrambled to sit up.
âFuck, fuck, fuck,â she muttered, groaning in embarrassment, her hands shooting up to touch her tender forehead.
âPlease forget I said anything. Please.â
She couldnât believe that she wasted her only chance, her only sentence, just to ask her if you were real.
You reached out, gently stopping her from touching her injury. âDonât touch. Youâre bleeding.â
Your manager let you leave early after apologizing repeatedly to Jimin. After all, one of the biggest rising stars had just been injured in his bistro.
Jimin smiled good-naturedly and shrugged off his apologies, clearly not phased. She had refused to go to the hospital for a check-up, and unable to stop yourself, you found yourself driving her back to your apartment.
You promised yourself this was a one-time thing, that you were just being a caring, responsible friend. Anyone wouldâve done the same for her, right?
As you led her into your room, she glanced around, the familiar space tugging at something in her heart. Her eyes landed on her sweatshirt that she had lost so long ago, still draped casually over the chair.
She noticed the absence of the photos on your vanity mirror, ones that once captured all the memories of the two of you. But, then, her gaze softened as it settled on the SlowPoke doll still sitting on your bed. Her heart skipped a beat. You had kept it.
You still cared, even if you seemed so distant, so far away.
Maybe, just maybe, you hadn't forgotten her love.
You paused in your tracks as you saw Jimin poking at the SlowPoke on your bed. You turned a brilliant shade of pink, flustered, before quickly ushering her to sit down so you could tend to her wound.
"Don't move," you muttered, your voice softer than you intended as you reached up gingerly to disinfect the cut on her temple.
She winced and hissed in pain but didnât pull away, remaining still, her dark eyes never leaving your face. The closeness of your bodies was unnerving, her skin so warm under your touch, and that tight white shirt she wore, showing off her tattoos, only added to the flurry of thoughts rushing through your head.
Why did she have to be so damn beautiful?
Jimin, on the other hand, couldnât take her eyes off you. The softness in your eyes and the gentleness of your touch, was making her heart race. She wasnât sure if she'd ever have this chance again.
"Why are you doing this, Jimin?" you asked, your voice coming out a little more strained than you'd planned, your hands trembling as you applied a thin layer of medicine.
Jiminâs brows furrowed in confusion. "Doing what?"
"All this," you said, motioning between the two of you. "Not talking to me, but following me around... giving me gifts..."
Jimin paused, taking a deep breath, before saying, âI wanted to make you remember.â
âRemember what?â you asked, your voice barely above a whisper as you finished applying the medicine.
She let out a small breath, trying to steady herself. "Remember us."
She looked down at her hands, then back up at you, her voice growing quieter, more vulnerable. "And... make you remember my love for you."
You froze, your hands retreating from her face as your heart pounded in your chest. You searched her eyes, so open, so full of regret and hope.
And in that moment, you knew you still loved her too.
"Jimin..." You tried to form words, but your throat was tight, the emotions threatening to spill over. âI-â
Before you could finish, Jimin quickly knelt beside the bed, gently cradling your hand in hers and placing it in your lap.
âPlease, give me another chance, Y/N,â she begged, the tears she had been holding back finally breaking free.
"These past few months without you have been... miserable. I know I hurt you. I know I lost myself, but I promise, I wonât let this happen again. I love everything about you, your softness, your quirky obsessions... everything. Iâm sorry I didnât reassure you when you were doubting yourself, or protect you from the hate.â
She took a shaky breath, and in a voice barely above a whisper, she said, âI donât think I could ever love anyone as much as I love you.â
Your heart clenched, the weight of her words crashing over you. The pain you had felt for so long, the loneliness that had settled deep in your soul, began to break. You missed her, but you're scared, so scared. Scared of trusting her again, scared of the hurt she could cause, scared of how much power she held over you.
âYou hurt me, Jimin. So much,â you said softly, unable to keep the pain from your voice. âI donât know if I can trust you.â
Jimin nodded, her face softening with understanding, though the sadness in her eyes remained. But she wasnât giving up.
âI know,â she said, her voice steady. âBut I will spend the rest of my life earning back your trust.â
And in that moment, with everything on the line, you finally gave in.
âOkay.â
âOkay?â Her eyes widened, and that smile, so hopeful, so full of warmth, spread across her angelic face.
âYes, Jimin. One chance.â You whispered, your heartbeat thudding loudly in your ears.
âYes!â Jimin punched the air lamely, her eyes sparkling as she grabbed your hand, pulling you up effortlessly.
Before you could even react, she spun you around in a twirl, making you let out a small scream in surprise. The sudden rush of laughter filled the room as you both stumbled and collapsed onto the bed, her arms immediately wrapping around you.
.
.
.
.
The soft thud of Jiminâs heartbeat was lulling you to sleep, a comforting rhythm that calmed your racing thoughts. You gently traced the ink on her forearms, each line and curve filled with her memories. Her steady breathing was a lullaby, peaceful and steady, as you cuddled up to her.
After tending to her injury, you had given her a change of clothes, and let her stay the night. She refused to let go of you, her arms wrapped tightly around you, her lips pressing soft, affectionate kisses to your forehead. It was a strange feeling, like nothing could go wrong in that moment.
For the first time in months, your heart felt whole again, free of the old pain that had lingered too long.
But then, a thought crept into your mind. Gently, you pulled away slightly, your eyes meeting the beautiful dancerâs.
She whined, unhappy at the space between you. You laughed softly, seeing the playful pout on her lips. Outside, she was fierce, confident, and intimidating even, but here, in front of you, she was just a clingy baby.
âI wanted to ask,â you began, brushing a lock of hair behind your ear, âWhy did you want me to forget about what you said at the bistro? When you told me to forget it?â
A faint pink blush spread across her cheeks, and she shifted uncomfortably, not meeting your eyes.
"It was because..." she trailed off, her voice hesitant, and you gently cupped her chin, forcing  her gaze to meet yours.
âBecause of what?â
"Because Minjeong said I could only talk to you once. One sentence. If you reacted badly, I would have to leave your life for good," Jimin admitted, looking away in embarrassment.
"I couldnât believe I wasted that one sentence on asking if you were real. I was scared Minjeong would beat me up if you got mad."
You stared at her in disbelief. "That was why you refused to speak to me?"
Jimin nodded, her lips twisting into a sheepish smile.
"Youâre so fucking stupid, Jimin," you muttered under your breath, shaking your head, though a fond smile tugged at your lips.
"Thank god youâre good at dancing, or else Iâd be worried about your future."
"Hey!" she whined, pushing you playfully. "Iâm not stupid! Itâs just... Minjeong is scary when sheâs mad."
Unable to hold back your endearment for this stupid lovable girl, you finally leaned down to press your lips to hers.
Jimin froze, marveling at the feel of your soft lips against hers. She had been dreaming about this moment for so long, and she quickly kissed you back with just as much enthusiasm. The kiss was soft at first, tentative before it deepened following the quickening of your heart beats.
When the air between you became a problem, you both pulled away, gasping for breath, but neither of you made a move to break the closeness. Your foreheads rested together, and for a moment, you just smiled into the space between your lips.
âWhat did you plan to say then?â You whispered, still breathless from the kiss, âThe sentence.â
âOh, I was going to say: Look at this cool tattoo I got.â She said mischievously, before sitting up and pulling off her shirt, leaving herself in nothing but a bra top.
You blushed immediately, eyes instinctively flicking to the defined muscles of her abs as she twisted to show you the back of her shoulders. For a moment, you couldnât help but be distracted by the way her muscles flexed before your gaze landed on a small patch of ink on the corner of her right shoulder.
âYou got a tattoo of a Charmander?â you sputtered, almost disbelieving.
âYeah, itâs cute, right?â Jimin grinned, proud of herself.
âIt reminded me of you. You have the same eyes as Charmander. And also, itâs your favorite PokĂ©mon, so itâs a win-win.â
âJimin, my favorite PokĂ©mon is ChikoritaâŠâ you sighed, shaking your head in exasperation.
âChikorita.â She repeated, her lips pursing in thought. âNot Charmander?â
âNot Charmander.â
She thought for a second, then shrugged with a grin. âAt least it looks like you.â
Unable to contain yourself any longer, you grabbed the collar of her top and pulled her into another kiss, one that made her remember that you were definitely hers.
got a bit carried away so some scenes kinda dragged out đŹ
but hope you all enjoyed this loserish version of jimin!

THIS IS NOT A DRILL
"A Discovery of Witches" is now available to stream on Netflix (geolocation limited)! (and on Sky TV in the UK)
It's one of my all-time favourite book-to-series ("All Souls Trilogy" by Deborah Harkness) productions - obvi co-starring Alex Kingston, as a witchy, sassy (hello, sweetie!), LGBT Auntie - and the entire series is just perfect?! Time travel, witches, vampires, werewolves, unrequited love, broken hearts, baddies, fab CGI, beautiful cast, great story...what more could you ask for?
CAST (some Doctor Who vets): Matthew Goode, Teresa Palmer, Alex Kingston, Lindsay Duncan (đ), Sophia Myles, Louise Brealey, James Purefoy (đ), Tom Hughes, Valerie Pettiford, Alysha Heart, Trevor Eve, Owen Teale, Paul Rhys...and on and on!
The first season was released in 2018 but there are 3 seasons altogether and it's absolutely worth the watch.
I'm on my fifth watch đ€ since its initial release. So good!
Share your thoughts on the series by replying to this post, if you've watched/will watch the series.

So I was rewatching dd last night and when dnp were in the Bespoke Activity Corner dan mentioned that he had a breakdown before tour bc he was gay so that got me thinking- if not for ii do u think he wouldâve come out in 2018? Why didnât they come out before ii? What was Philâs reaction? Like did Dan feel pressure? Itâs obviously their business but it really made me look back ya know
obviously we only know what he's said BUT he was actively planning on coming out before ii but i think there were a lot of factors in play as to why he didn't
dan had not come out to his family yet. he said in BIG that he was planning on telling his family christmas 2017, his mum's birthday (feb 2018), and easter 2018 but ended up backing out. he obviously couldn't come out publicly until he had come out privately to his family
he was already living in a glass closet most of 2017 but then march 2018 he made ttlmt (where he made some obvious references to being not straight). people picked up on the queer signaling and dan freaked and backtracked hard in a now infamous liveshow. the liveshow was so poorly received that phil had to do some damage control and dan was clearly not doing well at all.
this part is speculation but i do think the post liveshow backlash is when dan's rosé breakdown happened/phil not thinking the tour would happen. they were working nonstop while dan was both publicly struggling with his audience and secretly struggling with the prospects of coming out
in april 2018 dan said in a liveshow that he plans on uploading a video "in june, that's a sequel to ttlmt". he was talking about filming it mid tour as well, planning on filming it while they were on a break between the uk and european dates (side note about this liveshow: it was about him privating quite a few of his old videos which looking back makes sense because he knew coming out would mean a lot of eyes on his...less than unproblematic old content but his way of going about it backfired yet again and the audience was mad at him again for some lowkey misogyny)
"the june video" became a meme because throughout ii dan would say it was coming soon ("it might be a september video, an october video, who knows")
people have pointed out that he (and phil) were probably aware that there might be some issues with coming out very publicly as gay when they were about to travel to some of the tour dates with anti lgbtq stances. i'm not saying it's why he didn't, but i don't think they didn't consider it
basically he did in fact plan to come out in 2018 and it wasn't the tour alone stopping him. which is completely fair like i cannot fathom what was going through his head when he thought he was going to come out to his family, come out to the entire world by making a massive video, go on an 80+ date world tour, move house (lets not forget they were originally scheduled to move into the forever home in 2018 too!!!) and not lose his shit??? girl.
anyway he's mentioned that BIG would have been a different video if he had come out before ii because meeting so much of his queer audience changed a lot for him which really is beautiful. i just hate that the ii era was also tough for him behind the scenes

HETALIA â WORLD STARS (514)
Germany/Japan: Este hombre estĂĄ muerto, pero no le han avisado.
Translation notes at the end:Â âcuz I took a lot of âcreative freedoms(?)â and sometimes I forgot the meaning of words (âkanjiâ). Warning: I donât know Italian, German (my sister knows) and French (a bit). Bad words.
T/N:
Page 1.
"Fratellone", an informal way to say "Big brother".
Page 2.
"All roads lead to my house", probably Sir Hima was trying to emphasize the proverb: "All roads lead to Rome".
"Avoglia", has too many meanings and uses, but in this case is "Of course!"
"Stronzi", plural of "Stronzo", literal meaning is "t*rd".
Page 3.
"Clown", I wanted France to speak French, but⊠there's no point...
"Bastardo", "bast*ard".
Page 4.
"C'est bon?!", two things: 1) it means "It's okay?" and 2) the diavolic song "Bon Bon Bon / C'est Bon C'est Bon!
"Merci", "thanks".
"Je vous apprécie!", in France is not common to say "I love you", so this is the most similar (and not creepy) I could find (thanks to French people of Reddit).
Page 5.
"Italie", "Italy".
Page 6.
"The City of Light", is called that because it was the first city to use gas as a source of street lights.
Page 7.
"En conséquence", because of "La Déclaration des Droits de L'Homme et du Citoyen". (Joke)
"Vaffanculo", a bad word, with a different meaning than the literal translation: "F*ck you".
"German tourists", in 2019, more than 12 million Germans travelled to Italy, and they are by far the number one. Ironically, for France (2018) it is almost the same with approximately 12 million German tourists arrived, and more than 18 million (2019) spent more nights there (second place, tho Italy is 58 million).
"Oddio", "oh, god!"
Page 8.
"Na", german slang "Hey!" (??)
Page 9.
"Je suis vraiment trĂšs belle!", "I'm really so beautiful!"
"Merci beaucoup", "Thank you very much!"
"Vero", an agreement word.
Page 10.
"England smile", I had two theories:
1) The story that Italy, the genius, has it all figured out is true and England knows it, or...
2) It has something to do with the fact that France's most visited tourists are from the UK, so sharing/robbing France's credit for winning "alone"; but it's unlikely because I don't see the point with what Francis says below.
"Che palle!", used to indicated frustration or annoyance, don't want to write down the literal meaning.
Page 11.
"Pfui" is a German expression to show disgust.
"Ă inutile piangere sul latte versato", an Italian idiom that translates to: "No use crying over spilt milk".
"Nein", "No".
"All part of the planâ!?", I have faith in Italy.
Introduction.
"Este hombre estĂĄ...", "This man is dead, but he hasn't been warned", my words towards Italy and France.
Is there a problem/error? Please say so!

On This Day: August 14 2018
Sleep Token posted on the official Twitter/X account about being present in the newest edition of Rocksound Magazine in August of 2018. [X]
Today, He graces the pages of the @rocksound magazine. Next week, He performs Rituals IX & X, at the @OfficialRandL Festival on 24.08.2018 (Leeds) & 26.08.2018 (Reading) respectively. Worship.
Full article provided by PINQTEETH [Reddit]

SLEEP TOKEN MYSTERIOUS YET BEAUTIFULLY BALANCED SOUNDSCAPES WITH A VERY HUMAN GOAL
INTENSE, PENETRATING AND intoxicating, the most haunting music is sometimes the most beautiful. That's where Sleep Token come in. Anonymous and shrouded in mystery (though we can assume they're from the UK, at least), the collective exist for one definitive reason.Â
"The ultimate goal is to engender a constructive emotional process within as many people as possible," leader 'Vessel' explains. "Simply the basic concept of understanding oneself better, understanding others better as a result."
Through the act of 'worship' (playing live) and conducting of 'rituals' (shows, to you and us), the project has gained passionate followers with an intense and different vibe.
Intimate, gripping and punishing both lyrically and musically, it's a powerful soundtrack that eschews genre. "Sleep Token draw from the most profound experiences we have in life and, most crucially, where they intersect," says Vessel. "We're all driven towards intimacy, away from death. We're all scared. We're all in love. To see this within yourself, and then to see it reflected in others - this is the essence of worship."
Though music is their primary tool, it seems that Sleep Token's main ambition is something much more human. "We all desire to see the darkest, most profound aspects of ourselves reflected in the expression of others," Vessel adds.
"That's what tells us our existence is anything more than a meaningless sequence in an endless tangle of physical and chemical interactions. We're here to provide this expression, so it may serve as a device with which people might understand themselves better."

I'm bored so here's my ranking of some if not all of the Veronica outfits in Heathers.
I am just going to be talking general costumes, so I won't be doing a new post for each alteration, but I'll talk about them if I can.
2014 Off-Broadway (worn by Barrett Wilbert Weed/Charissa Hogeland/Cait Fairbanks)

honestly.... 10/10. I love this costume. I love the dark blue. I love that while blue is the dominant colour the grey skirt and white shirt stop it being all-encompassing. I love the subtle pattern on the skirt. I love the square buttons and I don't care if they are impractical because she just rips that bad boy open in Dead Girl Walking anyway. I love the little sparkly thing at her collar and I love the dark outline on her collar. And I love her watch! She accessorises!
Most of all... I love those shoes. So much that I saw a similar pair in a charity shop window and got them and sometimes consider painting a section blue. They are adorable.
(Also, fun rumour; apparently they had considered having Ronnie wear heels in the Off-Broadway version but they scrapped it because Barrett Weed is 5'9" and when she had heels it meant Veronica was taller than JD. Which would've been amazing but we got these shoes in the end. And it also made me notice that Veronica is the only one of the Heathers not wearing heels and she is still the tallest)
(also the original line in Beautiful was "ask me how it feels wearing these badass heels")
Overall, I feel like this costume just feels very real. I didn't live in the 80s, but I look at this and I don't see A Costume. I see something a real girl would wear in this fictionalised version of the 1980s.
2021 West End (worn by Christina Bennington)

Solid 9/10. My favourite detail is the blue plaid miniskirt, I just think it's a cool little unique detail. And yes I said above that I liked that the Off Bway one wasn't all blue, but I think the variation in shades makes up for it and also I'm not consistent in anything. I also love the oversized blazer, it's so cool and I think it fits Veronica's character as a messy misfit who doesn't fit in and is essentially trying to be something she's not. Also I love the navy shoes.
2023 Off West End/Tour (worn by Miracle Chance and Lizzy Emery)

8/10. I love overall that it's a fun change from the standard Veronica outfit. I love the almost military-style jacket, it's a cool silhouette and it makes the outfit a bit more interesting. As does the black and white skirt. I swear there used to be a darker version of the jacket somewhere which would bump it to an 8.5, but overall I love this outfit.
Also, you can't see them in this picture but the brown and blue shoes are a plus, I love them. I love splashes of blue on Veronica's shoes in case you can't tell.
West End 2018/UK Tour 2021/Off West End 2021-2022 (worn by Carrie Hope Fletcher, Olivia Moore, Becca Wickes, May Tether, Ailsa Davidson, Kaleigh McKnight and probably some more)

6/10
sigh.... Listen I don't hate this outfit. I just think it's quite basic. I mean the shoes are cute and overall it's nice. The bow is a nice touch I do like the bow. The bow is nice. I'd prefer a darker shade of blue. Up close you can see some details on the skirt but at a distance it looks quite plain. Kudos to Carrie for accessorising with skull earrings though.
There are some variations. I like Becca Wickes' blue skirt, as we know I'm a sucker for a blue skirt.

Also the little necktie.... on its own it's fine, but I'm not a fan of Veronica and the Heathers all having matching neckties. I like the Off Broadway version gave them some variation.
Argentina (Julia Tozzi)

A whole 10/10. I love this look so much. I love the waistcoat, always put Veronica in a waistcoat. I love the tights and the boots? Holy shit I love the boots. I am so in favour of giving Veronica a tie. This outfit has so much character in it and I am in love with it. Does it look a bit too modern? Maybe. Do I care? Hell no. This outfit eats, no wonder JD was in love with her.

YN Tomlinson
Our Story Masterlist Summary: An insight into YN's life.
Background Information: Birth Name: YN Olivia Tomlinson Born: 13th of April 1994 Origin: Doncaster, England, UK Occupation: Hair Stylist, Fashion Influencer, Owner of Styles Fashion Siblings: Louis Tomlinson (brother), Charlotte "Lottie" Tomlinson (sister), Félicité Tomlinson (sister), Daisy Tomlinson (sister), Phoebe Tomlinson (sister), Doris Deakin (sister), Ernest Deakin (brother) Marital Status: Married to Harry Styles Children: Grace Johannah Robyn Styles (daughter)
YN Olivia Tomlinson, born on the 13th of April, 1994, is an English hair stylist and fashion influencer. She is also the founder of the fashion company, Styles Fashion.
YN was born and raised in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Her older brother is singer Louis Tomlinson. She was raised with Louis and four younger sisters: Charlotte, Félicité, and twins Phoebe and Daisy. Her parents divorced in 2011. YN has two younger siblings, twins Doris and Ernest, who were born in 2014, from her mother's relationship with Dan Deakin.
Like her brother, YN attended The Hayfield School and later on Doncaster College where she studies Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy, which are both located in Doncaster.
YN began travelling with her brother, Louis and boyfriend, Harry on tour with their band One Direction when she 18 as the band's hair stylist and make up artist Lou Teasdale's assistant. She worked as Lou's assistant from 2013 until 2015, during their Take Me Home Tour, Where We Are Tour and On the Road Again Tour, and for the bands promotional appearances during those years.
In 2016, she collaborated with several fashion brands including ASOS, Adidas and Zara. Later in the year, YN debuted the collaborative clothing collection with Adidas, where her brother Louis and boyfriend Harry both attended.
In 2017, YN released her first book, Styles: Fashion By Me. The book includes over 50 different fashion outfits and styles. A year later in 2018, YN launched Styles Fashion, her own company and clothing line, including clothing items that she designed herself. In June 2019, alongside her sister Lottie, she released a collaboration collection with fashion brand In the Style.
YN began dating her brother's bandmate, Harry Styles, in 2011. The couples relationship was exposed after a photo was taken of them kissing, at Harry's childhood's friend party. Despite their relationship, it is still clear that Harry and Louis's friendship has remained strong.
Speculations began that the pair may have split in 2018 when YN did not attend Harry's Manchester or London dates during his Live On Tour show. The pair were not seen together until December 2018, when YN posted a photo on her Instagram of the pair at her family's home in Doncaster.
In 2019, Harry released his studio album Fine Line, where fans were quick to conclude that the couple did in fact split the previous year. The album is a mixture of happy and sad times that the couple experienced and Harry said in his interview with Zane Lowe "The times when I felt good and I felt happy, we're the happiest I've ever felt in my life, and the times I felt sad was the lowest I ever felt in my life". In the same interview, Harry also confirmed that the voice played at the end of the track Cherry is YN, which was from 2014 when she was trying to learn how to speak French.
YN has featured in some of Harry's music video's, including Lights Up, Watermelon Sugar, Adore You, Treat People with Kindness, As It Was, Late Night Talking and Daylight.
After the loss of her mother and sister, YN has been open about her anxiety and has since been an advocate for mental health and currently is an ambassador, alongside her sister Lottie, for the bereavement charity, Sue Ryder.
Following the announcement of her sister, Lottie's, pregnancy in 2022, YN launched a maternity clothing line, quoting in her interview "My sister begged me to start working on maternity clothes as soon as she found out she was pregnant...how could I say no?".
YN has joined Harry on his Love On Tour tour, from 2021-2023. Harry announced during one of his Wembley shows that he had proposed to YN at the venue that very same day. Despite being on a world tour, YN still used her platforms to work in partnership with brands, but most importantly, provide the fans with the updates they wanted.

Miss Françoise (17 janvier 1944 - 11 juin 2024)
Miss Françoise Hardy, whose elegance and beautifully lilting voice made her one of Franceâs most successful pop stars, has passed away today.
She was born in the middle of an air raid in Nazi-occupied Paris in 1944, and raised in the city, mostly by her mother. Aged 16, she received her first guitar as a present and began writing her own songs, performing them live and auditioning for record labels. In 1961, she signed with Disques Vogue.
Inspired by the French chanson style of crooned ballads as well as the emerging edgier styles of pop and rockânâroll, Miss Hardy became a key part of the yĂ©-yĂ© style that dominated mid-century French music.
The self-penned ballad Tous les garçons et les filles was her breakthrough in 1962, and sold more than 2.5m copies; it topped the French charts, as did early singles Je Suis DâAccord and Le Temps de LâAmour.
Her growing European fame meant she began rerecording her repertoire in multiple languages, including English. Her 1964 song All Over the World, translated from Dans le Monde Entier, became UK Top 20 hit, her fame endured in France, Italy and Germany.
In 1968, Comment te Dire Adieu, a version of It Hurts to Say Goodbye (originally made famous by Vera Lynn) with lyrics by Serge Gainsbourg, became one of her biggest hits.
Miss Hardyâs beauty and deft aesthetic â which encompassed cleanly silhouetted tailoring alongside more casual looks, including knitwear and rock-leaning denim and leather â defined the seeming effortlessness of 20th-century French cool.
She became a muse to designers including Yves Saint Laurent and Paco Rabanne, and was also a frequent subject for fashion photography, shot by the likes of Richard Avedon, David Bailey and William Klein. Later, designer Rei Kawakubo would name her label Comme des Garçons after a line in a Hardy song.
Miss Hardy was an object of adoration to many male stars of 60s pop including the Rolling Stones and David Bowie. Bob Dylan wrote a poem about her for the liner notes of his 1964 album Another Side of Bob Dylan, beginning: âFor Françoise Hardy, at the Seineâs edge, a giant shadow of Notre Dame seeks tâ grab my foot âŠâ
She was also courted by directors, appearing in films by Jean-Luc Godard, Roger Vadim, John Frankenheimer and more.
Miss Hardy signed a three-year deal with Sonopresse in 1970. This creatively rich period saw her record with Brazilian musician Tuca on 1971âs highly acclaimed La Question, and continue her multi-lingual releases.
She spent the mid-1970s chiefly focused on raising her son Thomas with her partner, musician and actor Jacques Dutronc. Releases restarted with 1977âs Star, and Hardy embraced the sounds of funk, disco and electronic pop. A longer hiatus in the 1980s was punctuated by 1988âs DĂ©calages, billed as her final album, though she returned in 1996 with Le Danger, switching her palette to moody contemporary rock.
She released six further albums, ending with Personne DâAutre in 2018.
Miss Hardy also developed a career as an astrologer, having written extensively on the subject from the 1970s onwards. In addition, she worked as a writer of both fiction and non-fiction books from the 2000s. Her autobiography Le désespoir des singes... et autres bagatelles was a best-seller in France.
She remains one of the best-selling singers in French history, and continues to be regarded as an iconic and influential figure in both French pop and fashion. In 2006, she was awarded the Grande médaille de la chanson française, an honorary award given by the Académie française, in recognition of her career in music.
Miss Hardy had lymphatic cancer since 2004, and had undergone years of radiotherapy and other treatments for the illness. In 2021, she had argued in favour of euthanasia, saying that France was âinhumanâ for not allowing the procedure.

okay so i don't really have a point to make over here but i've been thinking about this a lot lately so here we go: ever notice how alex tends to use a lot of dance-related words as metaphors for sex but almost always undercuts the image of elegance/beauty that might evoke using interesting juxtapositions and wordplay??
in piledriver waltz (submarine ep, 2010; also reprised for suck it and see, 2011) he writes "i heard the piledriver waltz// it woke me up this morning". now 'piledriver waltz' here refers to someone having sex (atleast the contributors at genius think so and so do i). turner uses the word waltz- an intimate ballroom dance between two partners- but adds piledriver- which is, as wikipedia tells me, "a professional wrestling driver move in which the wrestler grabs their opponent, turns them upside-down, and drops into a sitting or kneeling position, driving the opponent head-first into the mat". so you see, the refined, elegant, romantic connotations of waltz is contrasted with the image of rough ruthlessness that piledriver brings.
(ALSO also did you notice? a wrestling reference? all the way back in 2010 đ now idk if it's a regular vocab words or specific to wrestling-lingo only back in uk, but my studied-english-as-first-language-in-school-but-not-native speaker ass did have to google what the hell that means)
another such oxymoron-esque treatment of metaphors for sex we see in everything you've come to expect (everything you've come to expect, 2016). the line, one of my absolute favourite things turner and kane have ever written, goes "dirtbag ballet by the bins down the alley // as i walk through the chalet of the shadow of death". 'dirtbag ballet' again refers to sex here, this time the illicit kind, the kind that takes place in shadowy corners and dingy alleys. 'ballet' is another term that we will immediately associate with elegance and graceful moves but the use of 'dirt bag' by it's side brings a sense of crassness, almost vulgar quality to it. that term immediately paints a very stark picture of wild clandestine passion that illicit affairs carries probably. the song talks about that a lot.
(PS: an applause for the impeccable internal rhyme in those lines tho. *chef's kiss*)
the last example that stands out to me is from four stars out of five (tranquility base hotel and casino, 2018) where the line goes "hokey cokey with the opposite sex." (someone mentioned it around here today and that's what sparked this post. EDIT: it's @homoirrealis https://www.tumblr.com/lalaballa1977/717488374837084160?source=share) now there's no clever oxymoron-metaphor situation here, but the choice of that specific dance to talk about sex (straight sex, as the songwriter so kindly points out) is very interesting to me. hokey cokey as we know is a campfire dance that originated with brit folk dances and tunes. it's so funny because whenever i hear that line it immediately takes me back to kindergarten and a bunch of us kids standing in a circle, singing the rhyme and learning the dance. therefore in my mind atleast, hokey cokey evokes images of practiced, monotonous movements of hand and feet, no fluidity, no elegance. also the communal aspect of it. what if we read it as something you are made to participate in because you are a part in a group, because a number of pairs of eyes are on you. a question worth pondering perhaps.
and all this referring to sex?
also the song goes on to entice you to escape to this swanky hotel-casino-taqueria up on the moon and get far, far away from shit that you have done and regret and want to forget. then why is this hokey cokey with the opposite sex also one of those things the narrator might want to forget?
Hmmmmm questions worth pondering, innit?

Ranking all the Jesuses from every version I've watched/listened to so far
without further ado let's get into it đ
Ian Gillan - 1970 Original concept album

The True Doer that you cannot outdo. The og who made this role what it is today. And since the og album was were I got my start and obsession with jcs, I have a huge fondness for him. There's just something so- so... about him. His vocals? Insane, fantastic, the golden standard. His Gethsemane is Everything. He raised the bar so high (literally lol) and made this role harder for everyone that came after him and I respect that. I also love his characterisation. He is a rockstar and he knows it. Adore this whiny ass messiah and his dramatics. 9/10
Ted Neeley - 1973 movie

Sad little mouse man. He's like some small rodent to me. His gethsemane is iconic, but beyond it I don't care to much about his Jesus. He's perfectly inoffensive, but I find him a bit boring. Poor guy also had the disadvantage of performing against Carl Anderson, who's too powerful and who commanded every scene he was in, outshining Jesus. Tedsus is not for me personally, but he's definitely not bad. 6/10
Camilo Sesto - Madrid 1975 album

I like him! He reminds me of Ian's Jesus but sadder (love to see it). Really good vocals. That 'POR QUE' ate. And his Gethsemane in general too. I don't have that much to say besides that, but Señor Sesto is really good in this role. 8/10
James Whitson - San Jose Civic Light Opera's 1990 production
Uhhhhhhh. Watched this in a discord watch party and for half of it we were thought this was Ted. It wasn't. Don't really know what to say, there wasn't anything really memorable or notable about him. Also has the disadvantage of being pared up with Carl Anderson, except it's even worse here. If Carl was anywhere near him, no chance I was paying attention to Jesus. Um... he chased Santa out of the Temple! That's something! 3/10
Steve Balsamo - 1996 London revival album

Steve Balsamo Jesus, my dearly beloved. How can you not love him. Just rewatch his Gethsemane for the 1000th time. His vocals are out of this world, man has organ pipes in place of vocal chords. Props to him for actually crying in gethsemane and still killing it. Absolutely fantastic. And his beautiful hair and those brown eyes really add to it. He's such a sad pathetic man, it's great. No complaints 10/10
Glenn Carter - 2000 movie

I'm shaking, please buy him brown contacts. I am a glensus hater, although I have to admit that during my second viewing I didn't dislike him as much. Easily my least favourite gethsemane (lmm excluded), except his delivery of "what you started, I didn't start it", that was surprisingly good. Again, I'm a hater but bonus points for the entertainment factor. 4/10
Paul Nolan - 2012 Broadway revival

BORING! Sorry your trouple doesn't save you from being so incredibly bland. It's like looking at a white wall that has just been painted over and you're watching it dry. Gethsemane is solid vocally, I like his interactions with others. But Jesus himself? No thanks. The staging of the crucifixion was so great, but then there he is with his mouth agape like a baby bird being fed and unconvincing "suffering". Also, no blood? 3/10
Ben Forster - 2012 UK Arena tour

THIS IS THE ONE. My roman empire. My most dear blorbo. He's been living in my head rent free for months. I love him so much. He's just so incredibly stressed out and angsty and pathetic and constantly on the verge of a complete mental breakdown. His gethsemane is my favourite. Just pretty much everything I could want from a performance of it. The way he curls up on the floor? The little moments when his voice breaks a bit from emotion?? The knee thing??? Great, fantastic, stunning, no notes. Also I adore his costuming, finally Jesus is given something more interesting. 11/10
John Legend - 2018 NBC

Hot take, but he's not nearly as bad as people make him out to be. He's just fine. I do enjoy his voice, Poor Jerusalem is especially good. Although I don't love his acting in the second act, but I really liked him in the first one. This Jesus just seems really nice and friendly and I love that. Gethsemane is solid vocally, even without the G5. Anyways he's not bad at all! 6/10
Andrew Latobesi - 2018 Villanova College
This was another wildcard from the watch party. Jesus didn't stand out much because we were all a bit distracted by Judi. And Mary. He was bland and the acting was not fantastic, but this is a high school prod, and for what it's worth he's not bad. Gethsemane was solid enough considering everything. The crucifixion surprisingly hit, good crying there. ??/10 since I don't think it would be fair to rank him against all those adult professional performers.
Jack Hopewell - 50th Anniversary North America tour
The only Jesus that made me cry while watching. He suffers real good (and looks very pretty while doing so). He's just so- so... I just wanted to wrap him up in a soft blanket and give him a kiss on the forehead and feed him soup. Tbh I think he's one of the best vocally too. His high note is my fav. Gethsemane in general is just great too. Love how much he's just some silly guy who then has to face the Horrors. He's just very cute :] 10/10
Jeangu Macrooy - 2024 Netherlands national tour

The most poor little meow meow Jesus ever. He's so pathetic it's great. Him smiling and being happy was also so cute. Really good vocals too, man killed those high notes. His gethsemane too... Jeangu Macrooy absolutely steels the show and it's fantastic and incredibly heartbreaking. Want to see his performance again so so badly. In the meantime everyone should check out a snippet of his performance 10/10

Sundowning
â Transcript from Revolver Sleep Token Special Edition
Sleep token formed in 2016 in the UK. They self-released their debut EP âOneâ in December of that year, before signing to Basic Records for their 2017 three-track follow-up âTwoâ.
From the beginning, there was a mystique about them: The image of four anonymous musicians in cloaks and ornate-looking masks, their exposed chests and arms, daubed in the thick black paint, invited questions. At first, Sleep Token answered those questions if cryptically but soon they would begin declining all interviews. In the early days, it seems, Sleep Token acknowledged that their story required a little exposition. A commonly held misconception among the fandom is that Sleep Token had only ever done one interview with British music magazine Metal Hammer in 2017, around at that time of the âCalcuttaâ single release. In fact, the band granted another interview in 2018 to Kerrang and in both of those rare press engagements, Vessel underscored the artistic purpose of their concealed identities.
âHow we got here is irrelevant,as irrelevant as who we are - what matters is the music and the messageâ Vessel declared to Metal Hammer. âWe are here to serve, Sleep and project his messageâ. When asked in that same conversation about the band's genre-defying approach, he said, âlife is dark, life is bright, life is ugly, life is beautiful. Don't get lost in genres. They will disorient you, music, as for everyoneâ. In the Kerrang interview, Vessel doubled down on Sleep Token's philosophy of unhinging the art from its makers. âThe true identities behind Sleep Token are immaterial and ultimately irrelevantâ. As Vessel said at the time, âart has become entangled with identity...our aesthetic is there to fill the void left by that absence. True to those words, Sleep Token have remained anonymous and eschwed interviews ever since. Instead, they have communicated about entirely through their music and its accompanying visuals. Each song is an apparent offering to the primeval deity known as Sleep.
A once powerful being who, according to the band's lore, promised Vessel ultimate glory if he were to devote himself fully to him. He is now known as Sleep because, as background information shared by Basic Records put it, no modern tongue can properly express its name.
His past saw him wield far greater power than in modern age, bestowing ancient civilizations with the gift of dreams and the curse of nightmares. As insightful fans have noted, Sleep bears a wealth of similarities to the shadow archetype in Jungian philosophy, which is part of the unconscious mind and is composed of repressed ideas, weaknesses, and desires, and the aspects of oneself that are seen as not just unacceptable to society but contradictory to one's own personal morals and values. Is Vessel devoting himself to Sleep by offering him this music as a token or is he appeasing him? The consequences among the fans will have poured their free time into unpacking the overarching narrative in the band's music as that it's the story of a toxic power struggle. Vessel oscillates from a love bordering on obsession to frustration, desperation, and anger at Sleep's apparent indifference or even outright resistance towards him explaining the fluctuations on Sleep token's song to the text. This narrative had already been foregrounded in the band's first two EPs, but it was much more fully realized on the 2019 debut album âSundowningâ, which also marked the first release on Spineform Records. Its title refers to a phenomenon experienced by dementia patients regarding a range of behavioral changes that typically, but not necessarily, begin as the sun is setting and resolves themselves by morning. Those who experience it may become agitated or anxious, sometimes feeling like theyare in a wrong place, like they need to go home despite already being at home.
Sundowning, the album title, might then refer to a feeling of disorientation and distress that comes over Vessel whenever Sleep, presumably a creature of the night, arrives. The lyrics of âthe night does not belong to Godâ, seemingly confirms this. You can remember only till the sun recedes once again. Vessel groans before the chanted hooks come in. The night comes down like heaven. âSundowningâ didn't get a typical album rollout. By the time it was released in November 2019, all of its 12 songs were already in fans' hands. Starting on June 21st, the summer solstice, the band dropped a new track every other Thursday at that time of sunset in the native United Kingdom. Beginning with album opener, that night does not belong to God and proceeding along the tracklist order. From both an artist and a marketing perspective, it was an innovative approach. One of many Sleep token were out to buck tradition, but only did the regularity of the world build a sense of anticipation. But it also kept Sleep Token at the front of fans' minds as they outpaced the speed at which most bands could release singles ahead of a new album.
Brilliantly, the campaign also fit into the band's story. Every fortnight as the sun was setting, Vessel presented yet another offering to Sleep. On âSundowningâ, as well as the band's subsequent LPs, each of these offerings had its own visual identity. In a case of Sleep token's first album, every song is represented by a sigil, a series of interconnected shapes, often lines, triangles, and circles that construct some sort of meaning. It is believed that the symbols have various origins. Some reference the Elder Futhark, (the oldest runic alphabet, which is also referenced in the Sleep token's logo,)
and the Enochian letters (an occult language) while others resemble the symbols for demons in the goetic grimoire Ars Goetia (a 17th century book oof sorcery). The aspect of the sigils that has most fascinated the fans, however, is the connection to alchemical symbology. Alchemy is an ancient tradition that is both philosophical and proto-scientific, and fans have latched onto the alchemical meanings of the sigils as meanings of finding hidden significance written within the songs. For instance, the sigil for the offering features the symbol for a callous or crucible and the symbol for fumes or smokes, suggesting the idea of something being burned as a ritual sacrifice. Within the song itself, Vessel makes this notion more explicit. This is a giving, an offering, in your favor, a sacrifice in your name, he sings.
That's one of the simpler examples. For a song like Dark Signs, the symbology becomes a little more complex. One of the individual symbols in the sigil refers to sublimination, a phenomenon in which someone witnesses something that challenges the limits of human understanding and the capabilities of human comprehension. This may well be that Vessel experiences interacting with sleep. In a chemical context, sublimination refers to a substance transformation from the solid to the gas stage or vice versa, which could be interpreted as a metaphor for the transition from being in one's body to being only a spirit. Meanwhile, the symbol for iron, which also appears in the Dark Signs sigil, is traditionally associated with the process of making two opposite chemical components separate from each other. Consequently, it's hardly a coincidence that the song itself establishes a growing sense of the division between Vessel and Sleep. Where we met, there must have been dark signs. Vessel sings while he later contends in the chorus that I hate who I have become, as a result of surrendering himself to Sleep. Vessel's feelings toward Sleep fluctuate so wildly, that the over-aching narrative of âSundowningâ is hard to grasp at first. The album opens by establishing Vessel's devotion toward Sleep in its most straightforward and reverent form. The minimalistic âthe night does not belong to Godâ is practically a modern devotional hymn, presenting Vessel at his most eager to worship Sleep. In contrast, the offering introduces not only heavier riffs but also a fuller picture of the seemingly limitless capacities Vessel believes he has for love. The reoccurring image of biting and feeding is underscored by every repetition of take a bite, suggesting that Vessel is fully willing to lose parts of himself, even violently, to sustain and please sleep.
By the third track, âLevitateâ, the foundations begin to wobble with Vessel, now gripped by anxiety over the prospect of being separated from Sleep or of Sleep no longer needing him. I can tell you won't remember my cracking bones. He despairs, eventually asking, will you levitate, where I won't reach you? In the next song, Dark Signs, his fears have come true and he's looking at the wreckage of the relationship, missing the man he was before the first, before the first even again. Yet after the conflict between them intensifies and âHigherâ, âTake Aimâ finds Vessel so deep in a state of love that he's defiant, almost daring Sleep to come back to him. Make me tear my body, make me yearn for your embrace. He challenges. âSugar, a couple of tracks later represents the second emotional peak of the album with Vessel in the full throes of desire but with an undertone of darkness and violence. He knows Sleep plays a twisted little game but remains addicted to the pain none of the less. After the romantic dreaminess of âDrag Me Underâ,
âSundowningâ ends on a note of frustration with Bloodsport. Once again, everything for Vessel has fallen apart and he's left exhausted by all the sacrifice for limited reward: âI made Loving You a Bloodsport I can't winâ he curses, making the second downturn in his mood and fortune on the record. It serves as a lasting reminder, intensified by the singer sobbing over the final thrills of the piano that their bond as a destructive force where Vessel gives and Sleep takes. Musically speaking, âSundowningâ is arguably Sleep Token's softest album. It might be the most pop-oriented as well. Give, for example, has the slickness and the arcing, aerobic shape in the melody of something that might have floated around the mainstream in the mid-2010s while a vibrating synth lands that and trap percussion of âDark Signsâ and âSugarâ evoke the feeling of modern R&B.
On the other hand, there's plenty here that verifies Sleep Token's metal credentials. The bite of the guitars cut through like a surprise attack in the middle of a song, a bait-and switch structure that has become all the more frequent as Sleep Token have evolved. A notable expectation is âThe Offeringâ which melts siren-like synths with noshing guitars and intertwines them tightly rather than handling them as a separate tool. By far the heaviest song on âSundowningâ, however, is called an alternative metal slice of fury that stones and swaggers with greater harshness than anything else on the album. Recalling Death Tones at their angriest as well as Sleep Token's contemporaries in Liverpool metal upstarts âLoatheâ. Regardless, it's rare for Sleep Token to stick to just one sound. Even the anger of âGodâ dissipates for a while with a delicate, twinkling piano bridge. When âSundowningâ was released, Sleep Token were in a promising position. On October 3, 2019, they performed a ritual at the Underworld, a 500-capacity venue in London that often acts as the first rung on the ladder of an up-and-coming band's success.
Plant a flag at the Underworld and it's a sign your band is truly going somewhere.
Later that year, the album brought them to the US for the first time and then they returned to the UK for a headline tour in the early 2020s. Unbeknownst to them, however, the ritual they played at the 900-capacity Islington Assembly Hall on January 31 would be the final one for almost a year and a half. Not even the act of worshiping Sleep could justify gathering during the COVID-19 pandemic. The band did attempt to organize a series of socially distanced shows known as the Isolation Rituals in March 2021, but the virus was still too rampant at the time for them to go ahead. Not even Sleep himself could know how fast Sleep Token might have risen if there hadn't been a pathogen standing in their way. None of the last, when the stacking of ritual was approved by the government again, would neatly coincidence with a whole new chapter for the band. Sleep Token's son was about to rise to another level.

Exploration of the now-offline Far Cry 5 official websites
Part 4: Game Info (Europe)
Recovered content
The European website was first archived on October 9th, 2017, almost five months after the announcement and before the release of Far Cry 5. On the home page, after an image of the âkey artâ (see under the cut) and an invitation to watch this video...
youtube
...there was the ABOUT THE GAME section:

Lead a resistance against a fanatical cult in small town, U.S.A., where Freedom, Firearms, and the Project at Edenâs Gate rule above all else.
Clicking âMore Infoâ took you to the GAME INFO page, which wasnât archived before March 10th, 2018, and looked like this at least until February 7th, 2020 (last available archive):

The four red buttons redirected to the Character Spotlight videos about Joseph, Faith, John, and Jacob posted on the Ubisoft UK YouTube Channel.
Here is FIREARMS:
THE RESISTANCE Throughout the hills, valleys, and townships of Hope County, civilians of all walks have joined forces to resist against the cult, and rid their land of its chaos once and for all. But it wouldnât be as fun if new toys hadnât been brought along the way. Boom boom boom boom! â«
Clicking âMore Infoâ opened a pop-up window with a video and a description for each character; I will detail all of that in future posts.
Commentary
Sadly, the European website was archived way less often than the American one. It seems it was also rarely updated, as it apparently said we could still âpre-orderâ the game... in 2020. But since it used to exist and wasnât identical to the American version, I decided to include it in these posts too!
Under the cut are all the available source files, saved directly from the website, of the images you see in the screenshots:
But first, here is the siteâs version of the âkey artâ:

And now the images that actually are in the screenshots:

(The icons became red when you hovered your cursor over them)

The three icons below are not the source files. I couldnât find them so I simply took and cropped screenshots:
I will upload the pictures of the Resistance (from the FIREARMS section) in the posts dedicated to each character.
