Be our guest at Beauty and the Beast Week 2024!

@firawren is hosting a Disney Beauty and the Beast fandom event from September 23 to 29, 2024. Save the date and start drafting your creations!

All types of fandom works are welcome: fanfic, fanart, podfic, edits, mood boards, etc. Each work must contain at least one Disney BatB character (crossovers, OCs, and reader-inserts are allowed too!), and be posted on Tumblr, tagging @beauty-beast-week. An AO3 collection will also be set up for fic—details to follow.

Since BatB centers on a rose, the theme for this year is “In the Garden,” with a different plant prompt for each day. The idea is not that you create something literally about that plant (though you could), but that you think of things associated with it and use that as inspiration. Here are the prompts with some associated ideas:

Day 1: Daffodil (fresh start, spring, celebration, self-love…)

Day 2: Venus fly trap (angst, deception, hunger, bondage…)

Day 3: Lavender (relaxation, sleep, bath, summer, scents…)

Day 4: Cactus (resilience, pain, irritation, heat, thirst…)

Day 5: Dandelion (fluff, wishes, children, play, stubbornness…)

Day 6: Bamboo (growth, luck, strength, speed, size difference…)

Day 7: Free day

The examples in parentheses above are merely ideas. Feel free to use your own interpretations of the daily prompts.

Beauty and the Beast Week!!

Day 1: Daffodils

Okay I’m not going to reblog the post that inspired this for reasons that will become clear

But I always Really disliked interpretations of Beauty and the Beast (whether the Disney film/s or other animal bridegroom stories) that insist on how “the beast was ~hot~ before he transformed”

And give zero thought to that character’s experience of being cursed to live in a horrifically Wrong form for years on end. And finally being restored to something that feels correct and familiar—and can you imagine the first reaction to that, from the person who fell in love with you and with whom you’re in love, the one who broke the curse, saying “hm I liked you better before”?

I get it might be some kind of attempt to turn the “ugly” curse on its head and instead view it as the more attractive form

But that’s Not The Point!

The animal bridegroom tale is one of the oldest in the indo-European language family and it is time and again about coming to love someone for who they are rather than how they look. If anything the human transformation at the end can be best read as the phenomenon by which the person one loves becomes attractive in the lover’s eyes Because they are beloved.

And you know what sure I acknowledge and respect that interacting with it as a monsterfucker story is something people are going to do and will find the story appeals to them for that reason

But I feel like the instant you think of the Beast character/animal bridegroom as a Human Being who has been transformed against their will, as has traditionally been the case, those interpretations bother me in a way I still struggle to articulate.

(Batb) Belle can’t sleep properly because of nightmares,one stormy night she decided to go to the west wing,asking beast for some company,the problem is so beast has sleeping problems and he’s kinda self conscious about how he sleeps (probably naked) and where he sleeps (a smashed bed turned into an animal nest)

Once again apologizing for the delay in Day Six.

CW: mostly a fluff piece but does discuss nudity and themes of arousal, pregnancy and breeding. Intended for an 18+ audience

Belle always had a little bit of trouble sleeping, but when the rain came pouring down, it’s like she can’t breathe on her own. After hours of tossing and turning, she decided to make her way to the West Wing. While she knew that Beast has told her not to, she hoped that he would understand why tonight she felt like she had to. She just couldn’t be alone, and the furniture servants wouldn’t make her feel safe the way he did.

Cautiously, she made her way to the West Wing, not wanting to wake any of the servants up. She worried that they would make her go back to her own room. Luckily, everyone seemed to be fast asleep, and her footsteps were drowned out by the loud cracks of thunder that made the castle rumble. Each crack made another chill run down her spine, but that only spurned her on.

Finally, she got to the West Wing. It took her a little while to navigate the unfamiliar wing of the castle, guided by streaks of lightening flashing across the sky. There were portraits that she wanted to come back and look at when there was more light, but for now, all she wanted was to find Beast.

When she got to a set of heavy doors, she tugged them open, hoping that they were the doors to his bedroom. Inside the room was a mess, with a small table and a glowing rose shining on it. Her eyes were glued to the rose for but a moment, because in the soft glow of it, she realized that she could see Beast, tossing and turning in what seemed to be a sort of… nest?

“Beast?” Belle whispered, taking a few steps closer. Beast snored, curling almost into himself. “Beast, can I lay down with you?”

As if on cue, a loud clap of thunder made her jump, knocking over a chair. The sound of the chair hitting the ground stirred Beast from his fitful sleep. When his eyes met Belle’s, whose were wide and terrified, the anger bubbling in his chest immediately dissipated.

“Are you alright?” he asked, pushing himself into a sitting position. However, as he did, he realized that he had been in bed. As always, he wore nothing to sleep. Heat burned his face, making him grateful for the thick layer of fur covering it. “Why did you come here?”

“The storm,” she answered, looking down at her slippered feet. “I just… I hate storms. It’s hard for me to sleep. I was hoping you would keep me company. Could I sleep in your bed?”

Beast looked down at his nest, and his unclothed body, his nostrils flaring slightly with embarrassment. “Belle, I don’t think this would be very comfortable for you.”

“It’s okay! I’m sure is plenty comfortable. Please?” she asked, not realizing yet that he was naked, assuming he was only talking about the nest.

After another moment of hesitation, he nodded. “Fine. Come in then.”

Belle smiled, slipping off her slippers before crawling into the nest-like ruins of Beast’s bed. Only when she laid down, cuddling up against Beast, did she realize she could feel his cock rubbing against her leg. Her face flushed, making her bury her face into his chest.

Beast let out a low groan, her warmth making it difficult to ignore how badly he wanted to bury himself in her hot cunt. He wondered how she would look with her belly swollen with his child. How a ring he had inherited from his mother would look on her finger. The leaking tip of his cock only further made him wish he slept with something on, but it was too late now. Belle was dozing off, taking comfort in his presence. He couldn’t move her now.

This is my submission for Day 5 of Beauty and the Beast 2024. The theme of the day is Dandelion... and I took it literally :D

This digital painting was inspired by a dream I had a while ago, that was a clear combination of the dandelion scene in Belle Reprise, those pink flying flowers in Super Mario Galaxy... and probably the other flying flowers in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, since I remember playing that game the night before.

In the dream, I was with some other people, presumably some friends conjured up by my subconscious. Maybe we were kids, though I'm not entirely sure. We were catching a ride on huge flying dandelions whose seeds were gradually blowing away as we flew on them. Just for fun. Probably had to grab another dandelion once ours had no more seeds. The scenery was like in my illustration, a sunset and grassy hills. Similar to the original scene in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, but more yellow.

So I decided to insert Belle instead of myself and the other people. Well, she did say she wanted adventure in the great wide somewhere. Maybe this was what she imagined at that moment, fantasizing about just flying away from her provincial life. Either way I'm sure she would have loved to do something like this for fun.

Steve would ask him if he’d like to stay, at first a little shy, then teasingly, and then with more and more of a steely determination that Eddie did not understand. What could he offer Steve? It was all just so much, the gifts, the gilded attention, Eddie’s inherent sense of inferiority around the man, a leftover artifact of the taunts and the jeers echoing through the hallways of Hawkins High. It was enough to keep Eddie wary of what was being offered too easily, his nervous system alight with a warning buzz not to get too close, that there was danger there with the Beast. So Eddie resisted, he apologized, he made his excuses and ran every time Steve asked him to stay. Some day he’d have to face it, the things he’d shoved into the locked box in his mind, growing increasingly full and pounding at the lid to be let out — all that curiosity and wonder and longing, tender things he hadn’t felt since that summer, since the clearing, the smell of roses overwhelming his senses then too — but it was not that day. He wasn’t strong enough yet, brave enough, he knew if he let himself feel it that he’d cave. He’d give in, he’d let himself fall, and that… that he just could not do.
