Do you think we’ll get Ian going to the hospital and will he know it’s broken because he was an EMT or will he just shake it off and try to walk on it. Cannot wait for EP8. Because I love my whump and neither of boys have ever been this seriously hurt. All we’ve ever had is Ian burning his hand and Mickey getting shoot.

Oooh I don't know. I could see them doing a hospital scene but I could also see them just doing a time jump and showing Ian on crutches in the beginning of the episode after he breaks it.

If the theory that Ian breaks his leg while trying to chase Mickey after he storms out of the courthouse ends up being true, I can only imagine the kind of Gallavich hospital scene we could possibly get. Mickey might blame himself for Ian getting hurt :(

Greg appeared for the first time yesterday [Monday 22nd Oct] on Corrie. He was the guy with the fake leg doing an impression of a lightsaber. So funny. He's played by Lance Corporal Cassidy Little a former Royal Marine who was born in Canada. He lost his right leg from below the knee while in Afghanistan. He was caught up in an explosion IED, causing three fatalities as well as Cassi’s horrific injuries. It's great to see him on Corrie as like the character he doesn't let his injury define him.

the few scenes I have seen tho have been really great. is he gonna stick around for a bit? cos it seems like he’s not a half bad actor and it’d be fun to see him interacting with characters i don’t want to consistently punch in the face lol. and i love that they’ve brought him in for Jack too, someone who can show him, his neighbors, and the audience that an injury doesn’t define who you are as a person.

Ryan Hawley thinks they could go the whole hog and make a proper Robron spin-off away from the Dales, as anticipation builds for EastEnders’ Kat and Alfie drama Redwater. “I love working with Danny so why not? What would we call it though – Red-dale?!” If you could give the boys a spin-off, what plot points would it involve e.g Aaron having a long lost brother on Gordon's side or exploring Robert's past. Who would you want the spin-off to mainly be about? Aaron or Rob?

I am LIVING for the idea of this spin-off, seriously. I mean, they’d be mad not to do it, surely?? Hopefully this will be like when one of the soaps did a live episode so they all had to follow suit, and hopefully when Emmerdale follow that crowd they’ll let Maxine write the whole thing.

I would LOVE something which looks into Robert’s lost years, like I would seriously be prepared to offer some sort of sacrifice to the soap gods to allow this to happen. I’m not even joking. I will beg. Happily. Repeatedly. Anything.

So they’d have some reason to go down to London and Rob could be all excited about showing Aaron all of the places where he used to hang and where he used to live and work and drink and go out. And then they could meet up with a couple of friends Rob had when he was down there, and Aaron would watch on as Rob and his old friends shared stories about the wild times they had and Aaron would be all happy that Rob has friends and he’d just sit there smiling and also Rob’s friends would be all happy for Rob that he actually came out and that he has a husband and that he’s happy.

And Rob could open up about how he explored his sexuality - like his first time with a guy, and how he struggled with it because of his Jack-related feelings, and Aaron can tell him he’s amazing again and they can be all supportive and in love together like they so totally are now.

But then the happiness doesn’t last long when someone puts Robert in danger. Like, maybe an old contact that Rob’s been avoiding since he moved back to Emmerdale resurfaces and they’re a really nasty piece of work and they kidnap Rob or something and then we get Protective!Aaron being all Protective, like he has to find Robert first and he’s like completely beside himself trying to find him and then he realises what happened and he needs to save Robert because they’ve just explored new depths of their relationship and he couldn’t have lost him a week ago but he can’t lose him even more now because he fell even more in love with him than he thought was possible.

And so there’s some kind of Mega Drama™ that escalates and gets super angsty and Robert’s life is totally at risk and he’s screaming out Aaron’s name the whole time and then Aaron saves him in some hugely dramatic way (I’ll let Maxine decide on these minor details) but like Robert’s hurt in a serious way and they rush him into hospital and Aaron’s going out of his mind with worry and shouting at the doctors and stuff but then he’s fine and they have another hospital bedside moment (parallels!) and that’s where they decide they need to make the marriage official and so they call the registry office right there and register their intention to marry and then they book the first available slot 28 days later and it’s the thought of being fit and healthy again for that day that let’s Robert recover from his injuries so much quicker than the doctors said he would (you know, like when Aaron recovered from his lacerated liver so quickly he was drinking pints the next week? Ah these superhuman boys that I love) and then they both return to Emmerdale and they tell Liv all about what happened and she just thinks they’re making it all up and then they all live happily ever after.

But you know, other than that I haven’t really thought about it…

Well, for me I’d want a Robron spin-off it to be really surprising and different.....and to be honest, I think the most shocking/surprising thing ITV could do for Robron would be to give them something happy! I’d like it to be light-hearted, have a bit of comedy.....I’m thinking something in the style of The Durrells, which is on ITV on Sunday nights (if you don’t watch it - do. It is by far the best thing on TV) - it’s charming and sweet and light-hearted but it also has little moments of emotion that actually can bring a tear to the eye, without being overly dramatic.

And I’d love something like that for Robron. Say they leave the village for a new life somewhere abroad, for whatever reason. Maybe they’re looking for Robert’s half-siblings or something (as he apparently has a couple of half-siblings that are never ever mentioned on the show!), and it turns out they’re a really big quirky family. Sort of like the Dingles but unique in their own way. And maybe there can be an old uncle/relative who’s a bit unsure about the fact that Aaron and Robert are two men who are married, because maybe he hasn’t been “exposed” to that sort of thing before, and he can ask them awkward questions for the ~comic relief before accepting them and their relationship and being totally fine with it.

And maybe this family can be a little wild. Maybe Aaron and Robert can buy a messed-up house nearby and they have to stop with Robert’s relatives while they have it done up (they were so happy with how the Mill turned out, they wanted to do-up another home too), and Aaron can tease Robert about how he’s not the only one with a bonkers family!

And it can just be....sweet? Nothing too dramatic can happen. I love a little bit of Good Angst™ as much as the next person, but when angst becomes relentless (like it has been for Robron on ED for the past 18 months) it can become incredibly boring and it certainly loses the emotional punch that these things are supposed to have. IMO, it’s a lot easier to write angsty, depressing stuff than it is to write effective, believable comedy (see The Durrells) or to create a story that is gripping without there being dramatic cliff-hangers.

I’d just love to see Aaron and Robert living their life. Don’t get me wrong, I’d like a little moment where they maybe talk about their fathers, or reflect on some of the bad things they’ve been through. But for the most part I’d just want it to be simple. No cheating or near-death experiences or blackmail of lies or betrayal. Just the boys building a new life together in some quiet village in Spain or something, only worrying about a leaky roof in their new house or Robert being grumpy because he’s gotten too badly sunburnt. 

So yeah, that’s the sort of thing I’d like, because both Danny and Ryan are SO good at softer moments, and both of them are great at comedy, and tbh I think their talents in those areas are often wasted! I think it’d be fun to explore that a little more, to explore just the every day aspects of their relationship, I think it’d be awesome.

Redwater definitely seems a bit intense, a bit dark (I mean I wasn’t paying 100% attention but from what I saw it was a bit heavier than I would’ve liked), and even though it’s just started I think 6 hour-long episodes might be a bit much. For Robron’s spin-off, I’d like maybe 4-6 hour long episodes, maybe 6 months-a year after they leave on screen, but it can be set like straight after they leave the village (yes I have thought this through!)

Just....just give me happily married Aaron and Robert. That could never, ever be boring. Seriously, if you want an example of how TV can be great without anything horribly dramatic happening, just watch The Durrells. That is absolutely what I’d like to see for Robron if they were to ever have their own spin-off!

I'm so glad people, you included, are sticking with Aaron and Robert after all the crap we've been served in the past weeks. I hope Emmerdale finally gives Aaron the help he so deserves, and I hope we as a fandom get to see it. Aaron with out a doubt is a true hero in my eyes and as people say not all superheroes wear capes but Aaron is a true survivor with a bright future.

aww this is so lovely !!! thanks honey, i’m so glad to be a part of this fandom honestly. a lot of people are sticking with robron for a multitude of reasons but i think one of the main reasons is the people in this fandom who make it all ten times more enjoyable. i am really hoping that aaron is given the help he not only needs but deserves after all this time, we saw him have counselling earlier on in his life (post jackson) but like you said aaron is a true survivor and him actively choosing to get counselling for himself is such a Massive thing so i really hope they do it justice!

Today, Noel was filming his final scenes at the Gallagher house in Chicago. Ian is talking to a police officer at the front of the gate with Mickey, something is said and Mickey jumps the fence, no stunt double, Noel did it himself. Tweets are saying this is for EP6 which is the ep that Mickey gets out of prison. Cam didn’t have his boot on. He hobbling down the stairs. My poor boy.

Ugh why is Mickey jumping the fence? I hope it's because of his paranoia towards cops or something rather than because he somehow got out of prison illegally. I will be so annoyed.

And yes. Poor Cam.
