How would things turn out if Carina raised Eleven instead of Henry? Like a role reverse sort of thing, maybe Henry snapped and attacked Brenner and the other kids, and Carina took El away and tried to raise her herself instead?

Hm... interesting question.

I think Carina's motivation at first would be to save at least one of the kids because it's what Brenner would've wanted from her pov and it happens to be Eleven.

I think they'd have a harder time adjusting to the outside world at first. One reason being that she ended up at the lab at a younger age than Henry which means she doesn't have as much experience in regular life.

I think she'd also struggle for reasons out of her control but would take too long to explain. I'm sure being a single mom in the 80s wasn't easy (Joyce might be considered a success story among that idk enough about those experiences)

Originally I feel like her goal would've been to teach El revenge so they can go after Henry but realizes that there's more that's important. She wants El to live life that she [Carina] never got to.

After getting stuff established for a while Carina would make it a personal goal to be reunited with old family members. She does find them eventually and learns that they all thought she probably perished with her parents, but they're overjoyed that she's alive and that she rescued a kid from a dangerous situation.

Now that she has some of her family back they help her and El live a more comfortable life. They both try to put the lab and everything behind them.

Though if Henry succeeded... or is out there trying to be bad, they might have to fight him.

There could be a bunch of things Ember could list as why she ended up building fences even though she really wasn't the fence building type. She was learning pretty quick and not making too many mistakes, so hey, one more thing she could do in the future if forced, but still, it wasn't really the reason, no.

The main reason was simple: cows. There were cows coming.

She couldn't even tell whom she heard it from, that Cass and two other people she hasn't met yet were hearding in animals that could and would be used around the settlement and would be great for their food supplies. And just-- cows! Milk! Fresh milk! Ember was excited.

“—Tyler, you should just date both of us.” It was suppose to come out as a joke as she talked with Chelsy about how they rarely hung out now, but instead she peered over to capture her boyfriend’s reaction. “Easy solution, right?” she said in amusement as she looked over to capture Chelsy’s reaction to her ‘teasing’. 

It had taken two cancellations and so much last minute planning, but the group had finally made it out to her family’s vacation home after weeks of attempting to get together. Originally, it was suppose to be the couple’s first vacation, but she couldn’t blow off her best friend again. After convincing Tyler and Chelsy, she was glad they had gone through with it. The weekend had been amazing so far. Why do you insist on killing me with slow burn??? I mean it's SO GOOD like hdjfhasdkfhshakgfh but also I'M LITERALLY DYING OVER HERE. I hate and love it at the same time. I swear I'm losing my mind over this fic. I try to pace myself and hold off on reading the new chapters right when they come out but I'm so weak for this story that every time I see that you posted an update I gobble it up in .001 seconds. And that little moment of Ava confiding in Beatrice UGH MY HEART!! Like what the actual fuck??? Who told you that was okay to write. And hot damn Beatrice letting her mind drift while looking at Ava... at this point I'll consider myself lucky if I survive long enough to read the final chapter but I suppose it wouldn't matter either way cause as much as this story kills me, it also gives me life! 001. main verse / general verse. born one of the most beloved little princesses in the lands that are, her family ruled over a small island called ivanhold. ivanhold was known for its kindness and acceptance of all who needed it, which made it the primary target for evil to set afoot. when anastasia was eight, her family was viciously attacked by enemies wishing to overthrone the throne. her parents and siblings were murdered, and it was believed that young anastasia had perished that night as well, though no one had ever been able to recover her body. ivanhold was known henceforth known as the isle of ruin.

she was found a week later shivering, starving, and lost. margaret armstrong found the young princess ( not knowing who she was or her status ) and noticed there was blood caked in her matted hair. the little girl barely had the strength to tell her name - ana. margaret took the girl in her care from that point forward, and anastasia grew up not remembering the girl she used to be, as a mixture of the head trauma and the emotional trauma of that night.

years later, ana armstrong works with margaret from their home as laundresses and seamstresses, and it's the only life ana remembers and recognizes. the first eight years of her life are simply a memory gap, one that she doesn't feel is completely out of the ordinary. after all, who remembers everything from their childhood?

Few nights were spent walking down the path of Knockturn Alley. Even fewer within the White Wyvern. Beatrice lacked not in access to taverns and pubs. Not with her sister practically owning the Three Broomsticks as well as her being on good terms with Tom from the Leaky Cauldron. No, it was darker nights that called for the so-called walk of shame toward the tavern usually frequented by the darkest of characters. The Gryffindor did not fit in, not for the most part, but it was the best place one could go if one simply needed to forget; to get distracted from the daily shenanigans that life had a habit of throwing one’s way. Funny enough it was also the one place where, in her experience, the least talk of the war raging on in the world could be heard. It seemed almost too perfect to be true and yet its very existence was proof of just that. There was a place equivalent to the forgetfulness draught found in certain potioneer’s shops.

Beatrice found herself a cozy spot by the bar, if one did dare call it that in a place like the White Wyvern. No time was wasted as she ordered whatever strongest drink the bartender had to offer. Her mind was racing with thoughts of the previous night, the early morning hours filled with regret. There was too much she needed to forget; the leave behind, to be buried underneath layers upon layers of potentially bad decisions. Bea was no saint. Had never claimed to be but this had hit her harder than she cared to admit. Eventually she’d find someone to confide in but until then she’d rather avoid the whole thing all together.

It wasn’t until the drink was finally placed in front of her that the brunette allowed her eyes to roam, to scan the crowd she’d landed herself in middle of. Not that it mattered. The choice was made, and no regrets were felt. Well, not about the choice of drink or establishment either way. Finally, her eyes landed on a face that was familiar. More than familiar truthfully. “Evan, hey. I didn’t see you there.” Somehow, she’d managed to overlook the one in question entirely.

002.  alfie  reed    -    fandomless  oc. he/him,    27  years,    unlabeled. free  spirit,    musical  prodigy,    and  jules’  creative  partner/co-frontman,    alfie  writes  most  of  the  lyrics  and  concepts  for  twin  throne.    he’s  a  self-proclaimed  oddball  who  cares  very  little  about  what  people  think  of  him.  alfie  comes  from  a  massive  music-centered  family,    so  he  knows  how  to  navigate  chaos,    a  useful  skill  for  dealing  with  his  bandmates.

003.  evelyn  foster    -    fandomless  oc. she/her,    25  years,    bisexual. an  eccentric  london-raised  coffee  shop  owner  who  drinks  espresso  like  it’s  water  to  keep  her  energized  throughout  her  jam-packed  days.    she  lives  in  comfy  jumpers  and  insists  on  decorating  the  shop  for  every  holiday.    when  she’s  not  prepping  the  day’s  worth  of  pastries  or  burning  her  hand  on  coffee  pots,    she  can  be  found  down  the  road,    taking  care  of  the  shop’s  lovably  cranky  elderly  ex-owner.

004.  katherine  campbell    -    fandomless  oc. she/her,    34  years,    bisexual. a  cutthroat  manager  who  spends  her  time  trying  to  wrangle  her  most  lucrative  client,    gabe  abbott.  kat  will  do  anything  it  takes  to  secure  her  place  in  the  male-dominated  music  industry,    even  despite  the  constant  whispers  that  she’s  riding  her  influential  father’s  coattails.    it  was  kat’s  savvy  marketing  ideas  and  intuitive  gig-booking  skills  that  shot  gabe  into  stardom.    eventually  goes  on  to  sign  a  then  self-managed  twin  throne.

005.  mikey  abbott    -    fandomless  oc. he/him,    26  years,    gay. an  elementary  school  art  teacher  in  the  rural  south  who  lives  a  quiet,    peaceful  life.    hates  getting  asked  about  his  famous  brother  and  does  his  best  not  to  bring  him  up.    mikey  is  sweet  and  docile  but  is  careful  not  to  let  people  tread  on  him.    insanely  good  judge  of  character  and  resident  wine  mom.

006.  beatrice  ‘bea’  turner    -    fandomless  oc. she/her,    22  years,    lesbian. film  fanatic  and part-time dvd rental shop employee...  and  doesn’t  really  do  much  else.    bea  is  passionate  about  practical  effects  and  set  design.    basically  lives  at  the  movie  theatre,    has  seen  every  new  release,    and  will  prove  it  by  talking  your  ear  off  about  them.    would  love  to  work  within  the  industry  but  doesn’t  really  have  the  drive.

as is tradition, i picked 12 pieces of mine from this year that i think came out really well, or that i’m really proud of making, or remind me of good memories! all these posts can be found in my art tag “doodleswithangie” and on my instagram (with a few things not posted here).

i wish i posted more in the second half of the year, but at least i got one for every month. (on the flipside, i’ve been drawing more in my sketchbook and working on my comic for @ryminzine​.) looking forward to the new year and meeting a few more of my art goals!
