the thing that's so annoying about the state of the Trans Discourse here is that anti-transfem transmisogny and anti-transmasculinity both contribute to making trans people unwelcome unless we are deemed close enough to cis women. countless trans men & mascs & FTX people have had the experience of being alienated or directly kicked out of queer spaces for being too male/masc. but people have this absolutist perspective that this must be an experience ONLY had by trans people assigned male & that trans people assigned female are only ever read as feminine and female in the exact same way cis women are. because if we acknowledge that then maybe we'd have to acknowledge how trans (& intersex & GNC) people are demonized in relation to our real or percieved masculinity and maleness

correct me if I’m out of line bc I’m not a detransitioner, but I hate hate hate how common arguments against transition/“in defense of” detransitioners is “they can’t have kids!” or “they can’t breastfeed!”

why should mitigating harm always come down to what a woman can do for a potential child (or a man’s ability to father children)? why isn’t it enough to keep HER from harm? it’s just prioritizing women as broodmares all over again. why isn’t it enough to keep HER from chronic pain, heart and blood pressure issues, incontinence, necrosis, limited mobility and death?

okay everybody talking about gliyero being the comphet/beard ship and normally i agree with you BUT i feel like the movie is like the first time i feel like they've actually liked each other? their first interaction is just great and has so much chemistry. and fiyero's smug little "you're good" after watching how galinda handles boq. and MOST IMPORTANT TO ME is that little "hey, hey" when galinda starts to fall asleep at the top of the lion cub scene. mr. bailey will never know how much he altered my brain chemistry by being SO DAMN GENTLE WITH HER in that moment. it's gonna make act 2 hurt SO BAD because we KNOW they actually care about and love each other, just not in compatible ways. if they knew about the possibilities of polyamory we would be fucking set

i understand being grossed out by the confirmation that hugh jackman fully cheated on his wife with his coworker but y’all are being absolutely insane over this whole thing. if you’re out there grieving over a man you don’t know (and who is VERY MUCH ALIVE) i think you need to step back a little and maybe see a therapist to work things out and fix the way you’re letting a parasocial relationship take over your life like this 💀

I think there’s also a conversation to be had about how people think androgyny is waify and thin and wolf cuts and eyeliner. like some people are butch. some people have crew cuts and body hair and tits to the moon. or beards and hourglass figures.

i feel like everyone is all uncomfortable seeing people who are androgynous in a non tiktok kind of way but thats most of the androgyny i know! i know normal people who arent put together 24/7 who are androgynous in sweat pants and sundresses and first thing in the morning. there is more than one way to be androgynous and it isnt always a choice.
