beaming for the sake

““How are you?” The interrogation kind of stops you. Because you’re okay. Your domain is still whirling and you’re still beaming and you’re okay. But then occasionally you’re not okay. Not even one petite bit. And you don’t really slumber at night anymore because your crib is almost as void as your arms. And there’s a cosmos on your wall where his snapshot used to hang. And occasionally you can’t even eat because he’s vanished and the vile feeling in your gut just becomes a everlasting part of you. And when you kiss someone new their lips are mistaken and their hands don’t heave your hair and their physique doesn’t feel pretty right underneath your nomadic hands. And sometimes you cry and you don’t think you’ll ever stop. But you don’t say that. They don’t want to overhear that. So you continue to beam and say “I’m fine.””
