Ray's eyes opened, backing against the door in fear. Shit. Right. She can teleport. Yay.

After leaving V behind on the beach, Ray made her way back to her room in the medbay. She sat down in front of her mirror and undid her ponytail, starting to brush her hair. The medic placed the hairpin she got from V onto a cabinet.

Her attention got caught by a soft sound of footsteps. Ray looked up, just to see her standing behind her through the mirror. Shit.

Hey... Grace... What can I help you with? She mumbled anxiously, not putting down her hairbrush just so she could fiddle with something to calm her nerves.

Mmh, Ray, darling, why aren't you at the beach? Surely you wouldn't want to miss that? Grace said in a sickeningly sweet tone. She traced her finger along Ray's shoulders, the latter shivering.

... Actually, I'm not going to attend. I'd rather stay here and re-organise the medical supplies. Ray whispered. She felt Grace's grip on her shoulders tightening. The exorcist slowly started to try and get the hairpin, but slow enough as to not get Grace's attention.

Isn't that a little boring, darling? The seraph's eyes flicked over to the hairpin. Her eyes were sharp as a hawk's, there was no way she didn't notice Ray's attempt to grab it. What's that? She asked in a dangerously low tone.

Mmh, must've been a bad friend. You don't even like hair accessories. How about I just- Grace picked up the hairpin and crushed it. Ray bit her lip. Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck.

It took a bit of restraint to not just snap. Though he and Virginia hadn't been on great terms, he still remembered the better times and felt a sting of...guilt for how it went down. Plus, she didn't want to burden Virginia with any of the drama he'd just had.

"Uh, bien. Lookin' up, y'know? Uh, and you? How's your life goin'?"

Ava was going to meet Timpani at the beach. After the disaster that was the Seraphim Showcase, he was hoping that a dip in the water with his girlfriend would do him some good.

Papa and Rellena (the new rat he adopted while drunk at the Promenade) followed him as he made his way to the beach. He breathed out some smoke as he took his first cigarette of the day.

And then he ran into her. Virginia. Man, this was awkward. They hadn’t talked for so long, and the last time they did was…not great, to say the least. So much for a stress-free day.

But maybe he could still salvage this. It didn’t have to be TOO awkward. They did know each other for a long time before after all.

Nervously, he approached her and said, “Hey.”

"Oh, hello." Virginia said it before she even could see who she was answering. As she saw Ava, Virginia's body was overcome with shock; she stepped back a little.

She hoped she wouldn't meet anyone she knew. To go for a little swim was her only goal; now what is she even supposed to say? They didn't speak for long. There were a lot of thoughts in her head at the moment, and the silence between them is getting worse.

"Oh, yes, hi. Sorry, you scared me a little bit." Virginia said with a little nervous laugh, "How are you? We didn't talk for awhile. How is your life going?"

Ray contemplated her answer for a second. Should she be honest and tell Sarai she hated the beach? That she hated the water Sarai seemed to enjoy so much?

The medic zoned out while walking near the shore line, flinching when she accidentally touched the water. She quickly backed up, her gaze now focused on the water. In the water, she saw something blue, that seemed to be a person. Without thinking, she waved at them.

Hey Sarai! Ray said when she recognized the seraph, smiling widely. What are you doing? She tilted her head curiously, while making sure to maintain a safe distance from the water Sarai was in.

Ray calling her had caught their attention. She emerged slightly from the water to meet her gaze.

“Oh, hello Ray.” They said, “I was just enjoying the water. I take it you’re enjoying the beach festivities?”

[Vienna's eyes widened in surprise when she saw Ray. Of all the exorcists Lee could've asked for help, she was the one? Although it's not that surprising, Ray has always been so kind and sweet!]

Okay, Lee, uh, I mean, Ava, did nobody see you leaving hell? Ray. What are you doing? She almost froze on the spot. Ray knew that voice. I'm sorry, Ivy, I have to help her. I owe her. She decided to ignore the voice for now. It couldn't be Ivy. Just her imagination. To distract herself she waved at V Timpani.

Remember, Ray, there is no need to feel bad about this. You owe her. You're being a proper angel. Sera doesn't have shit on you.
