I was curious if you still have hope for Portwell? I saw that some portwells still have hope. I personally lost all hope mainly bc r*na is so popular and I don't think that Tim won't make them endgame... It's sad that, nowadays, many ships happen bc of fanservice... You don't even have to look from a storytelling perspective to see where things are going, you just have to check what the fandom says and that's prob gonna happen... One thing that I don't get tho... If Tim really wanted for r*na to be canon since ep 1x5, why did he spend all s2 to make us not ship them? In the second half they didn't have any interactions. Gina was still annoyed with him in ep 2x11. Why didn't Tim plant some seeds for them in the second half of s2? Why is Gina most of the time the one who does sth in that relationship and when Ricky does sth, it's bc Gina asked? And the only time when he has initiative they ruin that (taking his role seriously for her (ep 3x4) and later they reveal that he didn't even read the whole script on the opening night day). I personally could never ship them. I saw potential in s1 but after that they were ruined. S3 just tried to hide the s2 mess under the carpet instead of cleaning it (Ricky still does the bare minimum for Gina and he wasn't held accountable for how he hurt her in s2, he should've apologised!!!). Idk but Gina deserves so much better... They'll prob make Ricky the best bf to her in the next seasons, but that won't change the way they got together (with Gina putting in most of the effort)... That means she is ok with the bare minimum as long as she is with Ricky which is really sad... She deserves so much more... Portwell deserved so much more... s2 Portwell would've def survived that summer... I hate fan service for ruining them...

I’m shocked to hear anyone still has hope for canon Portwell, ngl. I do not and can’t imagine ever having any ever again tbh. They not only effed them up pretty bad but the writers have lost me entirely. At this point I’d dread seeing what this team would do with them if they tried again.

To answer the rest of this ask, I will die on the hill that Gicky was not actually the plan or endgame or any of this nonsense backtracking Tim’s been doing. I can believe that when he put them together in season one it ended up intriguing him more than he had thought, but considering what they did with season two clearly it wasn’t enough for him to switch up the plan at that point to put them together or set up something in the future - quite the opposite soooooo tell me again how this was always the plan? Sure, Jan.

It’s so obvious to anyone paying the tiniest bit of attention that Olivia left, so they shifted everything to give Ricky another love interest that they thought could compete in any way with Rini and lose the least amount of viewers upon her departure. Gina was the only real option. They didn’t even do it WELL cause they cared more about doing it as quickly as possible.

I admit that during season three I don’t know if I would have claimed it was fan service, but after seeing that Tim had a version of that final scene where he jumped on that entirely unfounded and random Gicky theory about the chocolates, unfortunately, I have to agree with you.

I will never not be disappointed that this show that brought me such joy, was written so well, didn’t do all the garbage you would expect from this kind of show, and boasted about being proud that they were telling stories of good people being good to each other, has turned into such trash.

S2 Portwell will forever be one of my favorite ships, winning me over completely (as an anti and Gicky fan going into that season) because of how well they wrote it . Alas, another casualty of outside factors switching up the plan and terrible choices being made by those in charge as a result.

the loki writers this season care about loki so much especially in episode 6 and i’ll die on this hill bc it’s evident in the way the end of his story here calls back to the first thor movie. the amount of character development loki has gotten throughout the MCU is incredible but nothing will ever top the loki show. in a lot of ways this show has reversed my opinion on him dying in the first place, because if he’d survived infinity war and endgame taika would have absolutely butchered him the way he did thor in love and thunder. he’d have been too goofy, a caricature. it wouldn’t have felt true to his character. the thing about the original 2 thor movies i enjoyed was the shakespearean nature of it all, and while i did love ragnarok for the way it began healing thor and loki’s relationship and am still largely frustrated with the idea we’ll most likely never see the two of them reunited again, i have to say the tone of loki’s arc feeling like a shakespearean tragedy brings home what i loved about the original movies. i hate that loki has to suffer alone, i think it’s sad that’s he’s doomed and i wish we could get thor and loki reunited to see how far the other has come. they could heal so much of the hurt in their relationship now that they’ve grown independent of one another, and to see the two brothers interacting AS brothers would be so nice to witness. but yeah idk i just rlly loved the loki show idk if that was supposed to be the end for loki or if we’ll see him again/if there’s another season?? but i hope tom hiddleston will reprise the role again, i don’t want to imagine this as the end for him but i have to say if it is i’m not really angry at the way it ended narratively. emotionally, yes bc i think loki deserves so so so much better in terms of being with his friends. but that’s what fics are for. in canon, i think this was the ending he was always meant to have and that’s satisfying idk

Hello i am back again to debunk any myths surrounding an eddie x y/n endgame AND I HAVE ANOTHER EXAMPLE this has become my life, I-

Okayyyyy so everyone who absolutely LIVES for steve x y/n scenes will remember that in RH2 y/n takes him to find gifts for nancy and he's like 'why do girls prefer actions over words' or smthing like that and y/n replies 'actually i prefer words over actions'

BUT in RH1 when she's feeling sad after basically being called a whore (i hate you tommy and carol) she kisses eddie after he confesses love or whatever because she thinks AND I QUOTE 'after all, actions speak louder than words'

I genuinely think y/n wasn't ever truly comfortable in their relationship like she loved him for sure but there were a lot of unecessary things she would force herself out of her comfort zone for.

It wouldn't have worked between them in the end bc eventhought they're so similar in many ways, their love languages feel so different.

yeah i think caitvi as a ship could’ve worked!! it just felt… strange?? the way everything was handled?? like it was pretty clear from the start that it would be endgame but it felt like caitvi was prioritized over any satisfying conflict resolution and the themes that had been present from the start. we had a really good foundation for either an interesting redemption arc or almost a corruption arc of sorts, but we didn’t really get either?? it was like the writers wanted caitvi to happen but none of the things that made the dynamic compelling were properly addressed 😭

i do get that a lot of just comes down to not being able to fit everything in a season (there should’ve been a s3 and i’ll die in this hill) but still. maybe my expectations were too high but i am disappointed 💔 and iirc i saw something one of the writers said about how the whole police brutality and inequality between piltover and zaun was to… create more tension between caitvi??? 😭 like “oh caitlyn’s and enforcer and we want SOME obstacles between caitvi… let’s make it so vi’s parents were killed by enforcers!!” which is just. what. if you’re going to create a narrative about oppression and cycles of violence it probably shouldn’t be just to make the yuri more interesting… alas.

i still don’t think it would be all that difficult to just have caitlyn confront her biases onscreen though… we get hints of it but she never really acknowledges the depths of the inequality that she often perpetuates herself. i think if we got more episodes it could be incorporated in a way that felt genuine, but we could’ve also just had her not lean as fully into the dictator role?? it would be rlly fun to see her acting almost as a spy of sorts instead of just. straight up gassing zaun. rushing their development in s1 felt different from rushing cait’s development in s2, bc we don’t really get any solid proof that she’s changed her mind??? part of me is like okay that happened but what does cait think about zaun rn. because we don’t know!! and it irks me so bad 😞

alas. they’re gonna break up and then get back together and get married and then divorce and end up in a weird on again off again situationship-like limbo for the rest of their days. to me.

Thoughts on what we've heard and seen of Thor: Love and Thunder so far?

honestly i'm just very [long continued sigh] about it. infinity war, but especially endgame, fucked thor's character and franchise over so extremely much that i'm not sure it's possible to truly recover. thor's entire trilogy was about how he needed to become a good man to be king, then accepting that being a good man meant being a good leader to his people BUT THEN HE JUST GIVES UP LEADERSHIP IN ENDGAME TO JUST FUCK AROUND THE GALAXY??? are we just going to do the iron man thing where thor learns the same lesson every go around and forgets it again in the team ups bc..... yawn. i thought maybe they might try to fix what the russos did to New Asgard in L&T but then i saw set photos of it turned into like a disneyland knock off so i'm like haha yeah let's just turn the displacement and genocide of an entire people into more of a joke why not at this point??? they're only the most advanced civilisation in the universe.

the loki show proved that thor and loki are now separate properties that most likely won't interact in a major way ever again (bc money and content >>> story and characterisation integrity) so i'm even less excited about either of their solo outings as their relationship was my main investment in both of them. so, thor is completely without family and is trying to become a guardian for some reason and loki is off trying to fuck his female self who is as interesting as a loaf of bread, what a wonderful development for these characters.

taika waititi's been annoying me a lot lately (midlife crisis aside, did anyone see him in freeguy?? god LORD) and i think he's high off his own kool aid so i'm hesitant about how un-irritating the humour and his overestimating how funny korg is will play in L&T. i dont want the only message they take for ragnarok to be "it was funny that was why ppl liked it." no, it was great bc it balanced the humour well w/ the heavier, nuanced stuff. also the girlboss-ing of jane and valkyrie is making me nervous; jane was a dorky scientist who loved being a dorky scientist, is thor!jane just going to be Strong Female Character no. 37 or will that character still remain but just be ripped? and val was a traumatised, drunkard who literally sold ppl to slavery bc she didn't give a shit about anyone or anything anymore (and who HATED the monarchy), will she just be girlboss snarky lady who now is an amazing king (and why king not queen, words have meanings???) bc its illegal for female characters to be too flawed in the mcu???

but the thing that keeping me invested to some extent is my man christian bale being the villain. i love this man, i will die on any hill for this man, i will watch truly terrible films for this strange man (if he looks hot). if they somehow tempted bale out of his oscar bait cave to do another comic book film and he's NOT playing some sort of jesus type figure then this shit must be good, or that cheque was really, really nice. hela is my favourite mcu villain besides loki so they're 2/3 for great villains in these films, let's hope we get another banger. plus the god-butcher is just a sexy concept.

Hello, dear anon!! ❤️ Firstly, omg, I know!! All the “Hey, Keen.” and “What, Ressler?” is so intensely romantic 🙄🙄🙄 The thought of Red calling Liz just “Keen” is so laughable to me. As you so rightly say, he at least calls her by her full name, which is much more telling imo than any robotic surname crap. (Plus, he would never call her “Keen” bc it’s her fake name from her fake marriage to her fake husband, but I digress.) Regardless of whether it’s Lizzie or Elizabeth or Agent Keen, it still sounds like music coming out of Red’s mouth. Whether that music is a funeral march or a symphonic poem... well, it varies 😒

ANYWAY you make such a good point!! If we’re striving to be objective (which is a pretty unobtainable goal for me at this point), there is  n o t h i n g  inherently romantic about K**nler. I’m sorry, but to me - no matter which way you slice it - there’s been absolutely NO romantic coding with these two over SEVEN SEASONS, really only a handful of scenes together at all that mostly consist of “STOP! FBI!”, and very few personal/meaningful moments. And of those VERY FEW moments, they all appear to me as platonic/work friends/colleagues. And listen, I’ve always liked Ressler and Liz as BFFs. Liz always offered a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on about Audrey in the good ol’ days and Ressler did the same about T*m, plus I’ve always loved how Ressler offered to “rough him up” in that gruff, brotherly way. There was never any jealousy between them at their respective romantic partners, like there always is with those Will They/Won’t They ships. And I think pilot!Ressler hating Liz’s guts gradually morphing into them being best buds over the ensuing seasons is super cute. But it’s never screamed “romance” to me. There’s been no anticipation, no build-up, no close calls, no nothing. My prime ship example for that sort of thing is Caskett from Castle. They spent 4 seasons building those two up with plenty of close calls and jealousy keeping them apart for as long as they physically could before they finally came together with fireworks. There has been zero of that with K**nler. (Lizzington on the other hand? Yes. Not to mention all the Lizzington suggestions FROM RESSLER: ”Sounds like someone’s jealous Uncle Red’s got a new crush”, “You in the dog house or something?” - but I’m slipping into my Lizzington googles, so I’ll stop there.) Not to mention I’ve never really liked Ressler as a character. Sorry, no shade to Diego, but it’s not exactly a dynamic character. And TPTB have a marvelous reputation of tabling characters until their designated plot lines and episodes, with no measurable growth or continuity in between, so it always feels forced to me. To just throw a long forgotten character - whose only role in the past 11 episodes has been driving around and answering phone calls to catch the weekly blacklister - in my face once a season and say, “LOOK, WE THOUGHT OF SOMETHING FOR THIS DUDE, REMEMBER HE CAN TALK?!” and expecting me to feel invested is wildly unrealistic imo.

In conclusion, anon, I don’t think you’re being harsh at all, rest assured that I have been much harsher in tags, DMs, and especially my own head about this so-called “romance”. I think you’re definitely correct that they could at least give us something decent to watch with time, a true romantic build-up, and a satisfying culmination. I mean, I know this is primarily an FBI-mystery-mythology-government-action-procedural-show but... AS SOMEONE ONCE RIGHTLY SAID, “I think it’s a love story.” and babe? ..... this ain’t it. I’m sorry, Lizzington remains the only pairing on this show that has had a veritable phone book of romantic tropes written for them, including - but certainly not limited to - tense undercover operations, dancing, jealousy at other partners, killing for each other, actual DECLARATIONS of LOVE,  T H E  L I S T  G O E S  O N, not to mention I’m of the steadfast opinion that they were the initial endgame for the show, and that’s a hill I am prepared to die on. I HAVE and WILL go down with this doomed ship until the end of my days. Amen.

As for my thoughts/theories on this mess, I am flattered that you’re interested enough to ask, and I think I probably gave you way more than you bargained for in the ^above^ rage!typing 😂 The only things I would venture to add are: 1) K**nler is a barely a ship by my admittedly high standards and, if it is indeed intended to be The Great Romance™ of the show, TPTB did a piss poor job of making it AT ALL satisfying 2) The current “plot line” is an inconsistently written, infuriating, OOC across the board, “twists” pulled out of a hat, PIECE OF CRAP mess, and I’m so over it and 3) I have genuinely no idea how they plan on digging themselves out of the sizable RED VS. LIZ hole CRATER they’ve dug themselves into and, if they plan on having even a mildly successful season 9, they had better claw their way out soon bc, by all accounts, pretty much nobody likes pathetically-evil!Liz and most are rooting for heart-of-gold-&-incredibly-sympathetic!Red in every single way. Sooooo... idk. I’m really bored by the whole RuSsIaN oPeRaTiVe arc and I wish we could fast-forward to the season finale to see if they plan on making any effort at all to improve the core relationship of the show, or if they have indeed given Liz up to mannequin-man and revenge-filled-rage-induced-mentally-unstable-out-of-left-field-evil-Kaplan-hallucinations and Red over to simply sad-lonely-romantic-tired-puppy-dog-who-deserves-better.

I mean Jonathan will automatically get more screen time since ST doubled the amount of available screen time this season. And since Jonathan is finally the leader of a gang instead of being relegated to Nancy’s sidekick (even tho I will die on the hill that Jonathan is sooo much more useful than the fandom gives him credit for, Nancy may be a boss bitch but none of her crazy ass plans would have worked w/o him ☕️) and that gang includes Mike, Will, a new comedic character, and eventually El– I think that’s a really good sign. The trailers are not an exact indicator of screen time, esp when it comes to Jonathan and Nancy. The trailer is just a bunch of clips put together to attract interest. If the trailers were actually reflective of screen time, El and Hopper would’ve been in it more than Steve was.

Also I would not at all be worried abt Stancy. Steve is projecting onto her a little since he’s still single and she’s there and Jonathan isn’t, but she is still very much in love with Jonathan, and Steve knows that. The writers may have their faults, but even they’re not fan-servicey enough to force Nancy and Steve back together just bc Robin didn’t work out as a love interest. Jancy are going through a bit of a rough patch since they’re so far apart and each separately going thru insane physical and emotional turmoil they refuse to tell the other abt, but they’re together by the end of the season. They have always been endgame. Whenever you get annoyed by Stancies preemptively gloating abt Stancy “getting back together” just remember that their only moments are platonic in her eyes, and even tho Steve spends a significant portion of the season hung up on her, a girl he dated a year+ ago who only continued dating him bc she didn’t think Jonathan was interested, at the end of the season Jonathan and Nancy are happily reconciled and ready to spend s5 side by side once again. But also mark my words Jonathan and Steve will become besties in s5, along with Argyle.

Yeah no I def think we will be seeing Jonathan going through different things and it will be great to see him interact with Will and Mike and Argyle (and I hope too Joyce and El). Idk how it will work with screentime, but I def hope they give him more to do (and the Cali plot sets up more). Re: stancy I do think they’ll tease it (as they do in the trailer). I also wonder if jancy are in communication at all to know that they’re going through v different things, or what nancy would think of Jonathan’s changes. I agree they’ll prob be in a rough patch bc of not communicating, so the reunion will be interesting. I’d love to see Jonathan and Steve interact before this show ends but we’ll see if that rlly happens in s5 lol.

yo so i just rewatched avengers 1 bc i was in need of some childhood comfort movie therapy & here are my notes bc goddamn this is movie is so beloved to me

- first of all, tony carries. the whole movie. he’s the first one to question why the hell fury has the tesseract & uncovers what phase 2 is.

he’s the first one to actually reach out to bruce & let him know he isn’t afraid of the hulk even they just met like ten mins ago !! their whole lab sequence heart-to-heart scenes?? too wholesome. tony repeatedly checking in & asking steve if bruce has shown up & steve being like “banner why” is so important bc tony has faith in bruce & he knows his heart & that he’ll show up even when everyone else has written him off as a lost cause. like ugh.

they all subtly rally behind him. like yeah steve is the leader fs but tony is the heart.

my babey flying the nuke thru the portal is so well shot & also just hella important bc just hours ago steve goes “i’ve seen the footage, ur not the guy to make the sacrifice play” & now what do we see. my guy tony flying a nuke into deep space knowing it’s a one way trip & he doesn’t blink he doesn’t balk he doesn’t flinch. he just steps up. which is so amazing bc everyone sees tony as the sarcastic genius asshole who only gives a shit abt himself & can’t take anything seriously but then every movie we see him do the absolute most to protect the team. every damn time. like endgame. he died for everyone & he knew he was gonna have to die & he did it anyways. he deserves the world.

so i bought gta definitive switch the night it came out bc i was a lil drunk and on a ton of sleep pills. and honestly i'm enjoying my mistake a LOT like it's almost like a cursed glitch mod adapted to a portable.

i'm playing gta 3 and there's this huge gap in the hill right next to the (blocked off) entrance to the tunnels leading to the other "cities". like the ground appears there but you just fall through the world if you drive up to it. and it's a HUGE boundary gap like LOL idk how devs coulda missed it.

anyways what's interesting is 1: you can drive into it and your car just flips and falls for a while but then gets dropped perfectly on the ground right outside the tunnel. meaning you get a "perfect insane stunt bonus" and usually get like over $1k any time u drive up to it. u can repeat it again n again for easy early money.

and even better 2: if you drive a fast car so that you fall past the blue wall blocking the tunnel, it'll spawn you on the ground on the OTHER side of the boundary. meaning right from the start of the game you can get to the other "islands" by driving through the tunnels without utilizing cheats. it isn't even hard like it almost feels intentional but i know it isn't?

anyways it's been super fun bein able to run to the other islands to get like 50 hidden packages and endgame weapon drops even tho i'm only on like mission 4? if you die, you spawn back at the hospital on the first island, and you can always take boats back to keep the weapon pickups.

glitches like this are EVERYWHERE too. listen i know it's such a shitty port and it's kinda ugly? but idk. i love cyberpunk. i love sonic 06. i love the glitchy switch port of skyrim. idk why but i just really enjoy glitchy messes... ESPECIALLY in a case like this where there's still the framework of a really good game underneath?

of COURSE this is a terrible version and ppl are right to complain. like it was literally false advertisement. i hope the companies are crucified for putting out such lazy, unfinished trash.

but at the same time... i'm honestly loving it? it's probably more fun for me like this than if it was good lol. 😅

Steve sat outside the compound staring at the floor, deep in thought. With the only possibility of victory no longer an opportunity, he didn't know what else to do. 

Then, a deafening noise broke the silence in the distance and he glanced up, seeing a familiar Audi R8 speeding towards the entrance. The car pulled over to him but went a bit too far, then reversed. Tony rolled down the window as he stopped.

"Why the long face? Let me guess, he turned into a baby."

"Among other things, yeah. What are you doing here?"

Tony got out of the car and walked around to the back, ignoring his question. "That's the EPR Paradox. Instead of pushing Lang through time, you might've wound up pushing time through Lang. It's tricky. Dangerous. Somebody should've cautioned you against it."

"You did."

"Oh, did I? Thank God I'm here. Regardless, I fixed it," He held up his right hand with a device on it, "A fully-functioning Time-Space GPS. I just want peace. Turns out, resentment is corrosive, and I hate it."

"Me too."

"We got a shot at getting these stones, but I gotta tell you my priorities: Bring back what we lost? I hope, yes. Keep what I got? I have to, at all costs. And...maybe not die trying will be nice."

"Sounds like a deal," Steve nodded, reaching out to shake his hand.

Tony reached back into his trunk to pull something else out, Steve's shield. He handed it over to him but he hesitated for a moment.

"Tony..."

"Why? He made it for you," he referred to his father, "Plus, honestly I have to get it out of the garage before Y/N sneaks over and takes it sledding. I wouldn't give up just yet."

He finally took the shield from him and fit his arm into it.

"Thank you, Tony."

"Will you keep that a little quiet? Didn't bring one for the whole team....We are getting the whole team, yeah?"

"We're working on that right now."

"Steve."

The super-soldier looked up, confused at the sudden seriousness in his tone. "Yeah?"

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"For being there for Y/N...when I failed to do that, you were there to take my place," he explained. "Being a single parent was the toughest job I was ever faced with. Her mother disappeared without another word as soon as she gave birth, and I was left to handle Y/N all on my own. I was only 18. I'd made a shit ton of reckless decisions before and now, I was stuck and didn't know what to do. So for her entire life, before Pepper came along, she had to grow up with only one parent. She became defensive and cold-hearted and I couldn't do anything about it. I try to push her, she pushes back, or she shuts herself out altogether. I try to understand why, she sinks deeper. Sometimes I don't know just what's going on with her and as much as I try to be understanding, I can't. But you saved her, Rogers. I don't know what you've been doing to make her change but it's working, and I want to thank you for that."

"Tony, you did a good job raising her. But you have the rest of the team to thank as well."

"I think she's softened up because of you."

"What do you mean?"

"I've never seen her look at a man the way she looks at you," the billionaire pointed out.

"With hatred and a burning passion to kill me if I ever stepped onto her bad side?"

"No, her eyes get all sparkly and shit. She's in love with you. But I swear, if you do anything to hurt her and break her heart, I'll kill you with my bare hands."

Steve's eyes widened slightly, and he put his hands in the air in surrender. "Okay, I won't."

"One more thing?"

"Yeah?"

"If all of this, what we're doing somehow goes south, something goes wrong, I need you to promise me one thing. Take care of Y/N. I need someone to watch over her when I'm gone, and I don't think there's anyone more qualified for that job than you."

"I promise."

...

"And I...am...Iron Man."

You looked over in horror to see Tony snap his fingers with a loud 'CLANG' and a blinding flash of white. Rocket fired at a Leviathan and before it devoured him, it crumbled into ash. The Black Order started crumbling to ash as well. T'Challa and Quill looked around in surprise; Steve looked on in exhaustion, knowing that they had won. Thanos, in horror, looked around and saw his entire army disintegrate. He looked at Steve, who just stared blankly at him. Thanos sat down, mourning before slowly being erased from existence himself.

The raw power of the gauntlet's energy left Tony's entire right side fatally injured. He stumbled for a bit before his body collapsed besides a pile of debris. Rhodey soon swooped in and went up to see his long time colleague and friend slowly fading away before his eyes and not long after, Peter did the same as well.

"Mr. Stark?" Peter ran up to his fallen mentor, tears forming at the edges of his eyes. "Can you hear me? It's Peter. Hey. We won, Mr. Stark. We won. You did it, sir. You did it. I'm sorry—Tony—"

He barely had any energy left to respond as Peter choked on a sob, wrapping his arms around him before gently being led aside by Wanda as she put a comforting arm around his shoulders.

Pepper sat down in front of him, "Hey."

Tony was barely able to move his head, but managed to look her in the eyes. "Hey, Pep..."

She placed her hand on his arc reactor, and he rested his hand on hers as she took a good look at his injuries.

"F.R.I.D.A.Y?"

"Life functions critical."

Tony smiled with tears in his eyes.

"Dad? Hey, you're okay," you said softly as you approached him, "You did it. We're gonna be okay."

"Hey, angel," he said weakly as he took your hand in his. You tried to ignore how deathly cold it felt. "You did so well. I'm so proud of you."

"Tony. Look at me," Pepper moved closer to you as she made sure Tony got a long look at her smiling face. You involuntarily leaned into her, as you felt the familiar sting of tears to your eyes. "We're gonna be okay. You can rest now."

With that acknowledgement, the light in his arc reactor flickered off for good. Unable to contain your grief, you let out a tortured cry, sobbing into Pepper's chest as she started to cry on his shoulder.

Earth's best defender was dead.

Dead.

Your father, your everything, the light of your life. Dead.

You flinched when you felt someone's hand on your shoulder all of a sudden as you stood up, jolting you from your thoughts. Steve stood there with glassy, red-rimmed eyes, which was a rare sight because he never displayed any emotions other than confidence and complete control—and it was beginning to take a toll on your already broken heart. He was always strategizing and planning things out, charging headfirst into battle without a second thought and now he was on the verge of breaking down, tucking you close into his side.

So you let yourself collapse into his touch, a sob escaping your lips as you clung on to him like you did to Tony when you were a little girl.

You're not quite sure how long you stand there like that, tightly clutching America's war hero like you'll slip away if you let go. He was a life raft, and you were stranded at sea, hopelessly lost with the stormy waves violently crashing over you and choking you as you struggled to escape.

Eleven years. Eleven years had passed since you first met Steve Rogers, and his unwavering promise to you that he'd stay by your side no matter the circumstance still stood. Since the day you first joined the Avengers Initiative he'd been a major figure in your life, always sticking by and supporting you when no one else was around to do so. He picked you up when you fell; he didn't judge you on your rough past nor your worst mistakes.

Now you found that you were needing him more than ever.

And in that moment, Steve knew, he had to keep his promise. Not just for your sake, but for Tony's as well. 

So he swore to himself on his life that he’d never leave your side.

With a heavy heart, you dragged yourself out of bed to get ready for Tony's funeral. Alongside Pepper, you carried a wreath out of the house with his first arc reactor framed with the words 'Proof that Tony Stark Has a Heart' and laid it on the lake, watching as it slowly drifted away.

Everyone was finally gathered together as one, although it wasn't in the way you'd imagined it to be. Happy, Rhodey, Pepper, you, Peter and May. Thor. Bruce, Strange, Steve, Wong, Scott, Hope, Janet, Hank, Quill, and the rest of the Guardians. T'Challa, Okoye, and Shuri. Clint and his family. Wanda. Bucky. Sam, Harley Keener, Secretary Ross, Maria Hill, Carol, and even Fury, who was silently watching in the back.

After it ended you stood at the edge of the lake, hands stuffed in your leather jacket's pockets as you stared blankly out at the water. It was hard for you to think about how you were supposed to move on after losing one of the most important people in life, hard to imagine who you'd turn to now that the one man who gave you better advice than anyone you knew was gone.

"You know, I wish there was a way—that I could let him know," you said without looking behind to see Steve, who'd been watching you for a bit, "how much I loved him. Because I didn't get to tell him before he—you know."

"He knows," he said as you turned around to meet his gaze, "and he loved you more than anything." Almost as much as I do.

"I never got to tell him," your voice broke, lashes brimming heavy with unshed tears, "I just—I just wish I could turn back time and tell him that. But I didn't, and—"

Before you had the chance to finish your sentence, he circled his arms around your waist and pulled you close. At that moment you broke down into heaving sobs that ripped through your chest and your throat and your heart, unable to contain your grief for any longer, sobbing uncontrollably into his chest. And he just held you there in silence, rocking you back and forth slowly as your tears soaked his suit.

Steve wonders exactly how much more heartbreak he can take because to see you in a condition such as this one wasn't doing him any good, making his heart feel as if it was being shattered into a thousand pieces, then put back together only to be broken again into a million more smaller parts. He hated seeing the woman he cared about so much in pain and found himself wishing there was just some way he could just take it all away from you.

"I just really miss him," you choked out, "I...I don't know what Pepper and I are gonna do without him."

"I know. I miss him too," he murmured, pressing his lips to your forehead and pulling you closer, rubbing soothing circles onto your back. "We all do."

"You're not going to leave, are you?" you mumbled into his chest, "Please don't leave me."

"I won't, I promise," he reassured you, smoothing your hair back, "Whenever you need me, I'll be here."

"Okay," you let out a shuddering sigh, "okay."

...

You headed back inside, as Steve led you to the living room with a hand on the small of your back as you sat down on the couch, taking the letter that Happy gave to you.

"He hated writing letters. Always insisted on typing everything up, but he hand wrote this for your sake," Happy explained quietly. "I've never seen someone love their kid as much as he loved you."

"I loved him, too," you smiled sadly. "Thank you, Happy. For everything."

"No worries, sweetheart," he nodded solemnly. "Anything for his little girl."

The super-soldier gripped your hand encouragingly, lacing your fingers together and squeezing tightly as you unfolded the paper.

If you're reading this, it means I've been faced with my untimely death. I mean, not that death at any time isn't untimely. This time travel thing that we're gonna try and pull off tomorrow...it's got me scratching my head about the survivability of it all. That's the thing. Then again, that's the hero gig. Part of the journey is the end. But what am I tripping for? Everything's gonna work out exactly the way it's supposed to.

When I first found out I was getting a daughter, I was sure I'd never be able to handle the responsibility of having a child. I didn't plan on becoming a parent so early and I was afraid, terrified I'd fail you as a father. And I feared that I did, many times. I was afraid you'd grow to resent me for what I'd done. But I persisted, because I wanted to give you the best possible life I could despite that raising you alone was probably the most difficult thing I've ever done. But it was all worth it in the end, because I got to see you grow up and become this beautiful, accomplished and talented young woman who would do anything for those she loves.

Look, I don't want you to make the same mistakes as I did. When the time comes, I want you to find a man that's willing to settle down with you and give you his whole heart- that's how you know he's the one. Hell, if you're going to go and get with Rogers, I wouldn't mind that either. Over this past decade, I've never seen someone as dedicated to protecting you and staying loyal to you as him and if you decide to get together, I'd be more than happy to give you my blessing. Honestly, I think the entire team's been shipping you two since the day you first met (Don't tell Sam I exposed him as a softie, though, he's going to kill me if I do. Or Clint). Seriously, though. Capsicle loves you, more than you'll ever know. And much more than he's willing to admit himself.

Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid to let your guard down, to be vulnerable and let the ones you love in. I know you're afraid of getting hurt, I know you believe that by building up those mile-high walls around your heart you think you're saving yourself, but it's really only going to hurt you in the long run. Love is messy. Sometimes you gotta suck it up and deal with the pain; that's just how it is. You get hurt, you get heartbroken, and there's a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. It's a messy process.

If you ever feel like giving up, like you just can't go on any further, just know that there's always someone out there who's rooting for you. You got me, the team. SHIELD's got your back, so does Happy, and even Peter. Know that there's always hope.

Remember that your past does not define who you are. Sometimes you can do everything right and things will still go wrong. The key is to never stop doing right.

You are not what has happened to you. You are what you choose to become.

A tear slipped down your cheek and dripped onto the paper, staining the corner with a dark spot as you folded it back up and set it on the table. You rested your head against Steve's broad shoulder as he wrapped an around your waist in a protective manner, pressing a lingering kiss to the side of your forehead.

Several days passed and Steve knew it was growing closer to the time he would be forced to make the most difficult decision of his life. As much as he wanted to stay, he knew what he was about to do was absolutely necessary to restore the universe to normal once again.

Night after night for the next three weeks, you woke up screaming with sweat streaming down your face, a shiver running down your spine and images of Tony dying in front of your eyes with you not being able to do anything about it flashing in your brain. He'd come into your room without question, climb into bed next to you, and hold you close, rocking you back and forth and humming old lullabies his mother used to sing to him as a child until you fell asleep, your breathing and rapid heartbeat finally steadying.

Everyone could tell something was going on between the two of you, but because you were so heavily weighed down by your grief that you didn't think before you did anything, they didn't question why you were suddenly so close to the super-soldier. He was your anchor, your safe haven you so desperately needed and were convinced would sink below your endless stream of thoughts without.

The dreaded day finally came and with a heavy heart, Steve got up and watched your peacefully sleeping figure in bed for a moment before leaving and heading outside.

Bucky, Bruce, and Sam were already waiting by the time he met them by the time machine.

He then walked over to Bucky. "Don't do anything stupid 'till I get back."

"How could I? You're taking all the stupid with you."

The two men both exchanged a quick hug with each other.

"Stay safe, buddy."

"It's gonna be okay, Buck. If this somehow—takes longer than it's supposed to—or I don't come back at all—promise me you'll watch out for her, alright?"

"I will," Bucky nodded.

Steve went over to the Quantum portal, donning the red and white suit.

"How long is this going to take?" you asked.

"For him? As long as he needs. For us? Five seconds," Bruce replied.

The super-soldier picked up Mjolnir 2013.

"Ready, Cap? Alright. We'll meet you back here, okay?"

"You bet."

"Going quantum. Three, two, one—"

With that, he disappeared into the quantum tunnel.

"And returning in five, four, three, two, one—"

Steve didn't appear on the pad right away, and Bruce looked around the equipment in confusion.

"Where is he?" Sam questioned.

"I don't know. He blew right by his time stamp. He should be here."

"Well, get him back."

"I'm trying."

"Get him the hell back!"

"I'm trying, I'm trying!"

"Sam," Bucky cut in.

Sam walked towards him, and him, Bucky, and Bruce saw his familiar broad-shouldered figure in the distance, so they went near him.

"Go ahead," Bucky gestured over to him with a small smile.

Sam went over to Steve, who was silently staring out at the water ahead with his hands stuffed in his pockets. He still looked the same, with his signature leather jacket and khakis. If it weren't for the subtle lines etched in his face from years of enduring hard battles against both himself and other enemies, from his newfound grief, one would think he was barely over thirty years old.

"Cap?"

"Hey, Sam."

"So did something go wrong, or did something go right?"

"Well, after I put the stones back, I thought, maybe I'll try some of that life Tony was telling me to get."

"How'd that work out for you?"

"It was beautiful."

"I'm happy for you. Truly."

"But when I saw how happy she looked living her life...I didn't want to take that away from her," the super-soldier explained. "Seeing that she was able to move on made me realize I could do the same. I can't stay in a relationship when I know my heart belongs to someone else. I made Stark a promise to look after her....I can't do that if I'm not here."

"Is that why you didn’t stay?"

"Yeah," Steve smiled faintly, "I couldn't leave her behind."

"Well, uh...she's inside, if you're looking for her—"

"Steve?"

"Uhhhhh....never mind, there she is," Sam gestured to you as you were stepping down the porch and making your way across the lawn to him. "You want me to give you two a moment?"

"Yeah. That'd be nice."

You picked up your pace, sprinting towards him as fast as you possibly could into his embrace. 

"Y/N—"

"Why'd you come back? I thought you were going to, you know—stay with Peggy—"

"I couldn't, Y/N, and you know that."

"Why not?"

He pulled away, letting his gaze linger on your face for a bit before brushing a stray hair behind your ear. "I made a promise I couldn't break. I'd never be able to forgive myself for it if I did."

"What promise?"

"Tony made me swear on my life that I'd stay no matter what happened."

"Steve..." your voice wavered as you forced yourself to look straight up at him, those icy-blue eyes that never seemed to fail to give you chills and make butterflies flutter around in your stomach, "Why did you throw away your one chance of having a happy ending? Now I'm the reason why your last chance of living the life you always wanted was taken away from you. I can't—I don't want to stop you from being with whom you love. You came back, even when you had the chance to live out the future that you'd been looking forward to for so long. And you didn't take it. Why?"

"I don't need to stay, when my entire future is standing right in front of me. Y/N, you are my future."

"Oh my god—"

"Shut up," Bucky hissed, elbowing Sam in the side, "let them be!"

"So he's been in love with her this entire time and I had no clue?! He's been in love with her for five whole years? Took them long enough."

"Ten. Catch up, birdbrain."

"Look, I'm sorry—"

"There's nothing to be sorry about," Steve reassured you in a soft voice, "I made my decision, and I'm staying here, whether you're in favor of that or not."

You let out something that was a mix of a choked sob and a laugh. "I can't get rid of you?"

"Unfortunately not," he chuckled, "as far as I know, you're sticking with me, because I love you too much to let you go."

"I hate to break the sentimental mood you've created here, you mumbled into his chest, "but...do you mean like...you're actually in love? Because that's what Dad would always say. If a man doesn't leave your side he either just wants to annoy the hell out of you, or is hopelessly in love with you."

"He's not wrong."

"Okay, then I—"

Steve quickly silenced you by leaning down and placing his lips lightly on yours, which took you completely by surprise. It was as if the entire world stopped when your lips met, your body warming up under his touch - a feeling that you'd never really get used to although you'd been working with him for as long as you could remember. You felt as if you were going to explode from the sheer amount of passion and adrenaline coursing through your body.

"I was going to say I love you too," you let out a sound that was a mix between a choked sob and a laugh. "before you—uh—cut me off like that."

"Oh," he chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly as his cheeks flushed a bright pink, "sorry."

"I'm gonna say it! You two. Have taken. Too damn long! To admit! You're in love! With each other!" Bucky clapped with every few words he said. "That’s all you say in response to her telling you she lo—"

"Man, shut the hell up," Sam grumbled. "as if you're dating anyone right now."

future of sporty spice: i honestly don’t think constantin is gonna get a full fledged “redemption arc” but i do think that they are gonna either have the instas drop him by the end of this season and use that to transition into ismail’s story or have him just be there as the resident asshole for the remainder of the series? like druck already introduced the josh/constantin animosity which seems to be a legit plot point that’ll only lead to more information about both of those characters (which we don’t know that much about tbh)

ismail: definitely an interesting character out of the instas bc their behavior to me is something else...like i don’t think druck is gonna cop out and say that ismail only bullied ava bc of constantin? we already got confirmation that ismail was rude/bitchy to nora bc of her treatment to constantin but ava on the other hand didn’t do anything. sure they could go the whole “some toxic friends make you do bad things” route which is totally valid but i feel like ismail’s arc is more complex than that. like maybe they just are a complete bitch on their own and constantin helps encourage that? who knows?

finn: my mans is gonna get a personality besides zoe and his dog...just you wait but also im kinda obsessed with the fact that he does nothing? like its bc we know a total of nothing abt him and it’s prob not deliberate but he’s easily (so far) the least messy insta who’s just there to vibe so it’s a bit refreshing but at the end of the day; give him a fucking arc you cowards

eventual cash queens/instas joint slay: this is like endgame usually for all skam seasons but this one is different bc it all rides on when kieu my, ismail, and constantin (still weary on him tho) apologize to the cash queens but mainly to ava. like i assume there’s been offscreen talk with ava, zoe, and finn to the point where they are cool but the other triad will def be a different apology
