So um, hi! A lot of you might recognize me from your likes, as I’ve been a silent reader for years. But I’ve finally decided to put out an au after months of debating. This actually isn’t my first au that I’ve planned out and written for, I have ones for JJ McCarthy, Will Smith (the hockey player), Rutger McGroarty, and Macklin Celebrini, but those will never see the light of day! I would also like to thank @wintfleur for giving me advice on this, as I never would’ve posted an au but I knew that when I messaged her it would help me keep my word that I would FINALLY post my writing. This au was supposed to come out on Friday but I physically couldn’t wait, so yeah enjoy! Send me some requests and ideas on what you would like to see next!

Do you ever think about how almost all of N’s Pokémon throughout the first games were one offs he released after he battled you, how he cared about them all deeply enough that he thought it would be selfish to have them battle more than necessary. And do you ever think about how this is the case with all his Pokémon EXCEPT his Klinklang in the final battle at the league, where the second to last battle he had a Klink and this Klinklang is very likely that same Pokémon? Do you think this was a visual representation of his mindset wavering from a fixed point? How that Klink refused to leave him right away and he couldn’t bring himself to force them to leave because his mind is in so many different directions? He can keep them around just a little longer until he becomes champion, it won’t be long, he can bend things some so long as he doesn’t fully stray from his path…right?

Or is that just me am I the only one willing to be insane about Klinklang of all Pokémon

Hiiii guys, I wrote this during both intermissions of the USA v. Canada game so if it’s bad I’m sorry, and Captain Ryan with the goal to bury Canada?!? IKTR!! Also I apologize for disappearing for the week, 2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with kidney stones and some days have been harder for others, especially because I’ve been so drugged up and in pain. But yeah, I think y’all will be looking forward to the next fic. I mean, what? Happy New Year!

“I’m not gonna get in,” Ophelia groaned, her computer screen glowing in front of her.

Ophelia’s mom gave her a look, “You’re going to get in my love, you had a glowing application”

”Do you know how many people apply each year, mom?” Ophelia snapped back, “35,000, and only like, 5,000 get in!”

“You never know until you actually open it, and if it says you're rejected then go to Vermont— or any of the other colleges that you’ll get into!” Pamela said, placing a comforting hand on Ophelia’s shoulder.

At this point it's been at least 10 minutes since the emails came out, and Ophelia was still staring at it, convinced she wasn’t going to get in and spend her entire life remembering this moment.

”You open it,” Ophelia accepted, tilting her computer towards her mom and covering her face with her hands.

”Are you sure?” Pamela asked, nervous that if Ophelia got in then she would spend her existence regretting this moment.

Ophelia nodded her head from her hands, opening them slightly so that she could she behind a small window.

Pamela’s hand extends towards the trackpad, her hand the steadiest Ophelia’s seen besides her surgeries.

Just before she’s about to open the letter, Pamela rips Ophelia’s right hand from her face and clicks the email open for her.

”M-“ Ophelia starts, shocked at the action of her mother, distracted until she sees the animated gold and crimson confetti and balloons flood her screen.

She freezes for a second, eyes scanning the email at the speed of light picking out the words, congratulations, and offer you a spot.

A loud shrieking sound left Ophelia’s lips, “Oh my god? Oh my god!”

Jumping out of her chair, limbs shaking with adrenaline, Ophelia doesn’t know what to do other than run downstairs and run circles in the kitchen.

”I got in! I GOT IN!” She yelled jumping up and down.

Pam stood in the doorway, leaning into it watching her fondly with a smile on her face.

Ophelia stopped when she saw her mother, a bright smile found its way onto her face. She rushed over and wrapped her arms around her tight.

”Thank you momma,” She mumbled, Pamela smiled.

“Congrats fellas, welcome to BC,” The man in the suit said, but Ryan hadn’t bothered enough to learn his name, he was just there to organize the signing, and he was sure he’d never see him again after this.

Ryan looked to his right, Will’s face shining pretty brightly when his dad came over to ruffle the hair on his head. He knew how much this meant to Will.

He wouldn’t be lying if he said the reason why practically 1/3 of the team signed because of Will.

Don’t get him wrong, Ryan was extremely happy to not only go to BC and play with his friends and live the college life with them for at least a year. But the BC cap and sweatshirt felt pretty heavy on him, the idea of now playing for a school, representing a student body of about 14,000 people plus alumni and other people who just support BC.

It felt pretty daunting because for the program they just played for the team; played so that maybe scouts and other opportunities could find them, and then Ryan was suddenly aware that 95% of his opportunities to increase his draft stock was behind him.

”Can we get a picture?” An older woman with grey hair asked, he didn’t miss her maroon shirt.

The boys all crowded together, putting on their best media-trained smiles.

When all the media was over, Will got up from his seat quickly, going over to hug his parents with a proud smile.

”He is going to be insufferable in the fall,” Gabe spoke up from his place next to him, Ryan let out a small laugh.

”Tell me about it, the tour on the first day is going to be so annoying,” Ryan huffed and crossed his arms, thinking about all the little places, childhood memories, and fun facts Will is going to be listing.

”It’ll be fun,” Gabe said, a distant look in his eye.

”Yeah, I don’t know about that,” Ryan shot back playfully.

”No, like I mean this year, it’ll be fun,” Gabe responded, almost to reassure both of them. “We’ll be fine,”

Yeah, they’ll be fine.
