I was thinking about how Teddy doesn't really "hulk out" anymore, and it raised some questions. Obviously, he isn't actually a Hulk and his powers aren't gamma-related, but in Young Avengers he used to get physically bigger when he shifted into his green form. Nowadays, he stays in that form 24/7, so he's kind of just a big guy all of the time, and it made me wonder if that's his natural resting state, and what's the typical range in which a Skrull shapeshifter can alter their mass or volume-- how big or small can he get? And, just as a point of comparison, how big is the Hulk?

Unfortunately, the answers are less conclusive than I'd like. Supposedly, Skrulls can only shrink or grow within about 50% of their natural size, but we've seen them turn into stuff like tiny bugs or giant alien monsters. Bruce Banner's Hulk form shifts dynamically between 7'-8' tall, and Jen's default She-Hulk form is only 6'7", but I think they're often both drawn a lot bigger than that on the page. So even though there are specific parameters to these things, they get broken pretty often.

So, what's that mean for Teddy? If we're playing by the rules, then the largest humanoid form he could achieve would probably be around nine feet tall. But usually, even when he's all bulked up, he's still smaller than the Hulk, so I think it's safe to assume that his comfort zone is between six and seven feet, more like Jen.

So my headcanon is that his human-passing form is 6', the biggest he usually gets for combat is 7', and his default shape now, as Emperor Hulkling, is right in the middle at 6'6". That's really tall, but it's not superhuman, and it's still smaller than either Hulk.
