Hotch grew up in a time full to bursting with slut-shaming and self-expression alike. Women wore tiny dresses as they wear now, and he never thought himself a sexist —he never had a problem with a slip of skin. 

But this is… Well, he's ashamed of himself for wanting to wrap you up in his suit jacket and ferry you home. 

"Handsome!" you yell, jumping off of the garden seat you'd been sitting in with a drink slipping down your fingers. "You actually came! You're here!" 

He's thinking and thank God I did, because he trusts you, and he doesn't think for a second you'd entertain other people, but he can't imagine missing out on this. This is a lot. 

"You're drinking?" he asks, not scornful, just surprised. 

"I didn't know you were coming and I'm bored out of my mind! But this is my first, sweetheart." You offer it to him. "So no, I wouldn't say I'm drinking." 

He takes your drink, his head racing with thoughts of your naked arms and legs, your sheer white babydoll dress. "Is this lingerie?" 

"It's my costume," you whine gently. "Why do people keep asking me that?" 

Hotch slides his empty hand down the length of your side, the tulle of your baby doll soft as down on his palm. "And you're a… angel?" 

"Duh. You can't see my halo, but it's there." 

Your waist in his hand, the warmth of your skin seeping slow in his, Hotch can almost ignore the surrounding party goers and all their noise, until a friend comes forward demanding an introduction, and another. We've been waiting to meet her oh-so-intimidating beau. Hotch suffers it with his hand behind your shoulders, but eventually it's too much, his hand is sliding under your babydoll's fabric to grab at the small of your back indulgently. His pinky finger flirts with the band of your 'shorts'. 

"What are you doing?" you whisper through a laugh. 

"I'm embarrassed. I'm not even in costume." 

"Yeah?" 

"Maybe we should just go home." 

Your laughter is a shriek as he pulls you into his side. He's kidding, he'll stay at your party tonight for as long as you want to stay like a fish out of water, but he can't be expected to not flirt with you. 

"You're getting antsy, Hotchner," you say, like it's the best thing a man can be. 

"This is ridiculous." 

"I picked it out with you in mind." You lift your chin, words spoken warmly into the shell of his ear. "It might look like underwear to you, but there's something underneath it that says otherwise. So play nice and I'll give you a behind the scenes of how I chose my costume." 

"I'm always nice," he says. 

"No," you say, your smile mock-demure, your hand on his abdomen, just a little too low, "you're not. That's why…" You turn on the spot to your bag resting on the table and pull out a pair of red-horns on a headband. "I got you these. But once you put them on you have to keep them on." 

"Is that the rule for this?" he asks, tugging on your babydoll. 

You only hum. Hotch loses his mind one song at a time until you let him take you home, devil horns intact.

there's a couple of different scenarios that i think would lend how naomi would act bumping into your ex

if you and naomi have been together for a loooong time and its some random ex that you dated in highschool or college, there might be a hint of jealousy

like they hug you a little too long or only look at you and not naomi, which naomi is like "it's just rude babe, im not jealous," their hand sticking in the back pocket of your jeans or rubbing the hem of your skirt as they pull you into them, leaning against a wall

if you haven't been dating that long, a more recent ex might trigger a diff reaction, naomi might get a little guard dog on them

like if they came up and hugged you and were just being really touchy and affectionate, naomi would be like "and I'm Naomi, THEIR PARTNER," and like shake their hand but have a killer grip

would also just be sooooo touchy all night, like nomi is already affectionate but when there's someone in the room that ALSO knows how hard you love and how deeply you can fall, nuh uh, not gonna fly for nomi

the only time i think naomi would be like not super jealous and even laugh a little at an attempt is if you're a bi/pan queenie or you've dated a man in the past and they come up to you like "wow you look so good, how have you been?" naomi is squaring UP BRO!

Yesterday’s food log. Weighed in at 170.6 this morning. I may be in the 160s by this time tomorrow morning, but I’m not sure whether or not I’ll be able to weigh myself tomorrow or Sunday since my partner doesn’t work either of those days and will be at home. Regardless, I’ll still try to weigh in tomorrow and Sunday and if I can’t, I’ll update you guys with my weight on Monday morning! I’ll still post food logs both days too.

Gonna try to do only liquid cals today and see how that goes.

I have two Halloween parties to go to tomorrow and know I’m going to be pressured to eat at both. I’m going to resist the best I can but I’m sure I’ll be made to eat something anyways at the first one- thankfully the venue is an environment that’ll be easy for me to purge in. The second party, I’ll just say I ate a lot at the first and hope the subject gets dropped. Manifesting self restraint bc I know that a lot of that food will be stuff I love 😭

Side note; anyone have any tips for brain fog? I know it’s inevitable considering the fact that I’m literally starving myself but it’s sooooo annoying lol I can’t stand it. Also, any tips for best scale accuracy? I keep getting inconsistent readings even though I just changed the batteries on it ): I know the number is going down and I’m losing weight but it’s weird to weigh myself 10 times and get three different numbers.

Hey quick rant, dont mind me(or do bc im so fucking frustrated and just need an ear/void to shout into). Why is it So Fucking Hard to get people to show up to an event? Like inviting people to go places is so so so sooooo fucking hard and just ego destroying???? Im moving soon and will be leaving my home town for a good couple of years. I planned a lowkey going away party for myself and my partner to give us an excuse to hang out with our closest....friends. i invited every friend i consider to have a decent connection or liking for including some close family i will miss when i move. Like im talking nearly 10 people here got an invite to just go spend some time together at a fun halloween event. I sent out invitations to people a couple /weeks/ ago with a specific date in mind and a lot of those people said yes! So our invite list was 10 people and only maybe like say 4-6 said sure. Cool. Little frustrating bc i havent seen some of these people in months and would love to spend time with them but ah well, they have their lives to attend to. Good handful there regardless! This week i ask some people who are really important and close to me if theyre still available this weekend. They bail bc they planned over our going away party. Okay. Irritating but whatever. No problem still like 4 people going.

When it's readers turn (or Mjs) the bottle like does a weird jump because they spun it too hard and it's 7 minutes in heaven. (so like mutual pining bc i'm a whore for that)

Disclaimer I was never a huge Sherlock fan so I don’t know if they wear suits??? But in my head they both do and I’m too scared to google in case they don’t wear suits cause I absolutely want to write MJ wearing a suit I mean you’ve all seen Zendaya wearing one right 😭

When you see MJ’s Halloween costume, you have to take a second to wonder who ever decided that it’s men who primarily wear suits.

You look good in your suit too, but looking in the mirror didn’t affect you as much as looking at your beautiful best friend.

Since the party you’re going to requires you to wear a costume, you decided to go as slightly sexier versions of Sherlock and Watson. It’s less of a detective costume and more of.. simply looking good in a suit.

But if someone asked what you were going as, you could convincingly say you were going as those two characters, and MJ even brought a pipe to go with her costume to prove it.

Of course you two are matching, you made sure your suit colours worked well with each other, but you only showed each other pictures, and haven’t seen the other wear it yet.

“You look… wow,” MJ says, looking you up and down with a smile.

“You’re telling me I look wow? You’re… wow-er,” you stutter and you both giggle.

Thankfully MJ ignores how you stumble over your words and links her arm with yours as you set off for the party.

With MJ by your side, even the fact that someone invited Flash Thompson doesn’t ruin your mood.

“We’re not in middle school any more,” you roll your eyes when Flash suggests some spin the bottle and seven minutes in heaven crossover.

“Scared you’ll enjoy kissing me?” He raises his eyebrows at you and you just about manage not to gag.

“Spin it, it’s MJ’s turn first,” Ned says, sitting next to Peter with their matching Star Wars costumes… or was it Star Trek?

You didn’t think you’d mind MJ doing seven minutes in heaven with someone, but as the bottle starts spinning, threatening to point at someone who MJ will then be alone with for seven minutes… your heart starts pounding to the point where you can hear it even over the loud music and people talking.

You feel dizzy as you watch the bottle spin and spin and spin.

It slows down.

And it lands on you.

You try to hide your smile - you don’t even know why you’re smiling - as people cheer for you and MJ.

She shyly grins at you and takes your hand as you two walk to the closest bedroom.

“Seven minutes,” someone calls out before you shut the door behind you.

You two look around and sit on the edge of the bed, not saying anything.

You know people are listening right in front of the door, but the room is big so they wouldn’t hear anything. And anyway, this is your best friend, it’s not like you’re going to kiss…

“I’m so glad that I didn’t get Flash,” MJ chuckles, looking down at her hands in her lap.

“Don’t worry, I would’ve faked a heart attack before I’d let him in a room with you alone. Seven minutes alone with him would be seven minutes in hell.”

MJ fondly smiles at you until you both start looking around some more, unsure what to do.

“So…” she clears her throat, “Are we going to play the game or not?”

You take a second to register that MJ just asked you if you two should kiss. You then shrug, uncertain, “We don’t have to,” you assure her.

“Do you remember that essay I wrote in high school about the homoeroticism in Sherlock Holmes?”

You giggle as you remember how you proofread her essay for her, “Of course I remember.”

“Well, I still stand by what I said. We could… find out if it’s true,” MJ’s fingers find the fabric of your suit, playing with it by your chest. You gulp when you realise what she’s suggesting.

You swallow again when you realise how attracted you feel to her right now, and it sure as hell isn’t just because of the suit.

As you turn your head towards MJ, sitting upright to get closer, she closes the gap between you two.

And suddenly you’re kissing your best friend.

You feel as if you’re floating, all of your problems gone. Not even that pretty suit of MJ’s is on your mind. All you feel is her lips on yours.

You don’t want to stop, but you don’t know how she feels. You don’t want to be the only one enjoying it, so you pull away and open your eyes again.

What you see is MJ, glowing, biting her lip to keep her smile from taking over her whole face. Next thing you know, you’re pulling MJ closer again, both of you dropping to the bed with the force of the kiss, buried between pillows.

You don’t know how you ever survived a single day without feeling MJ like this; the strand of hair she always leaves out at the front tickling your face, her hand finding your cheek.

As you reach for MJ’s thigh to pull it over your hip, she lets out a breath of anticipation and you smile into the kiss. You feel her tongue at your lips, and you gladly let her in as you quietly moan into her mouth.

Her fingers trail down your belly, finding the waistband of your pants. Just as she’s about to slip her finger inside, you hear a phone alarm go off and you both immediately sit up, letting go of each other.

Flash opens the door with force, rolling his eyes when he sees you two sitting there, “Aw I thought I was about to witness- Ow!”

Peter punches Flash’s arm before he can say anything disrespectful, and you flash him a grateful smile.

“Nothing to see here,” Flash announces as he walks off in annoyance to continue playing the game with the other people.

Your cheeks are burning, and although you feel MJ’s hand finding yours, you don’t feel confident enough to look at her again, especially not with Peter smirking at you two like that.

“What?” MJ asks him.

“Were both of you wearing red lipstick before?”

Your eyes go wide but as you touch your lips you remember how you applied your lipstick earlier. But as you turn to MJ, you see faint smudges of your own red lipstick colour on hers, realising that she was only wearing lip balm before.

You ignore Peter’s gaze as you and MJ make your way to the bathroom to clean up the mess you made of each other’s faces. You manage to avoid any more people who’d tease you and when you make it to the bathroom and look into the mirror, you notice how your own lipstick is smudged too and thank whoever is up there that Flash didn’t see.

You meet the reflection of MJ’s eyes in the mirror and turn your head to look at her, and you share a quiet, bashful giggle.

“Um, I can…” you get a makeup wipe out of your bag and gently clean up MJ’s lips while she looks at your lips the whole time. As you lift the wipe to your own mouth, she takes it from you, “Let me.” You angle your face towards her as she wipes at the edges of your lips. Her fingers are on your jaw the whole time, holding you in place. When she looks satisfied with her job, smiling at you, you decide to just lean in and kiss her.

You feel her pulling you closer, but you’re interrupted by a knock on the door, jumping apart.

“We’ll be out in a minute,” you call.

MJ looks at you and wipes another smudge from your lips with her thumb.

“Oh you…” you realise you just got some more lipstick on her, “You should put on the lipstick. You look great in red,” you say softly, looking down, unsure what to do.

“I like it better on you,” she says, “But I won’t mind a bit of lipstick.” You look up and then MJ gives you another peck, followed by a sweet smile.

There’s another knock and you both check in the mirror to make sure you look presentable, and quickly leave.

When you get back to your other friends, you manage to behave normally, but you don’t even know if you want that. You don’t just want to kiss MJ one night and then pretend to forget about it forever.

You smile at each other every now and then, laugh together, talk with each other, and you can’t tell if she feels different. You definitely do. There’s always been some kind of attraction between you and MJ but you were too scared of ruining your friendship to even pay attention to how you felt.

You’re grateful when MJ suggests that you leave early. You already planned on staying at MJ’s for the night, so you’re glad that the night isn’t over yet.

You walk home hand in hand, like you do more often than not. You remove your make-up and change into pyjamas, watch a few episodes of your favourite series, and it’s like nothing has changed.

Too scared of her reaction, too scared that MJ will say it was just in the heat of the moment, you don’t mention it again. You don’t make a move and you don’t try to act different in any way. You wish you’d gone home after all, so you could cry in peace.

You’re just lying in bed now, listening to some music and showing each other memes.

When MJ puts her phone away, you put yours away too, assuming she wants to sleep now. But she turns towards you and looks at you for a while, your heartbeat speeding up.

“You looked really pretty today. You look really pretty now,” MJ tells you, face only inches away from yours and you feel goosebumps erupting all over your skin.

“So do you. You always look pretty.”

“You too,” she says, and then there’s nothing but silence again.

You lie there for a few minutes, exchanging no words.

“You know..” she starts again, “You never got your seven minutes in heaven turn.”

Trying to hide your smile, you shrug, “We could do it now.”

“Okay. Should I get a bottle to see who it lands on?” MJ says, self consciously folding her arms in front of her.

“Just kiss me,” you whisper. It takes her a second to register what you said, and then she smiles. It’s a wide smile that takes up half of her face, and she looks so beautiful.

She scoots closer and places her hands on your cheeks, and then she pulls you in.

The kiss is different this time. You take your time as your lips connect, finding a comfortable position with your hands on her waist and your leg over hers.

Your heart is racing the whole time, yet you feel a sense of comfort. It just feels right.

You kiss, and kiss, and kiss, and kiss. You don’t want to stop, but it’s late and all the excitement is tiring you out fast.

MJ pulls away first, “I think it’s been seven minutes in heaven already,” she grins.

“Every minute I get to spend with you is like heaven,” you smile and even though it’s cheesy you both know it’s true.

“Do you want to be my girlfriend?” She asks, holding your hand. But when you don’t answer within a split second her eyes go wide and she panics, “Uh um, sorry that was way too-”

I can totally see Shiloh having a halloween date with Tighnari! As for costumes, I don’t think either of them would go, like, all out right–– but they would still make an effort to be in the halloween spirit. Sooooo I think that they’d go for something up the avenue of ‘forest spirits’? Bc I can so see Mars and Tighnari incorporating vines and flowers into their costumes, and having like jewelry and accessories on them that appear like they’re made of vines! Yoi I can definitely see spending halloween together with Yun Jin! Those two feel like they’d be so enthusiastic for the season together! Yun Jin would enjoy being able to go out and wear costumes that, although they might not be as grand as the ones she wears for opera, are still very much enjoyable and fun to walk around in! I can see the two of them wearing something some cheesy and cliche but still very cute costumes–– lowkey I can see them both wearing vampire outfits? Like with the high collars, fake fangs and black capes! Those two would be such a blast when they go trick-or-treating. Ying I can see hanging out with Ayaka! These two seem so chill and down-to-earth, but would also enjoy the festivities a lot, yk? For these twoooo... I can see them doing something simple like putting on a white dress or a white top and donning on a pair of angel wings! These two don’t strike me as types to go to big halloween parties–– instead, I see them both going to a party held by a close-knit group of friends. Not quite slutty tbh, but deffo in something enough to make anyone go ‘damn.’ I’m personally torn between giving them demon costumes or kitsune costumes so!! why not demon kitsune costumes? it’s halloween bro anyone can dress however they want lmao. For halloween, I can see Lia hanging with Thoma! It’s hard worldbuilding at least from a western perspective bc a lot of our traditional ~holidays~ (I live on the east coast of the united states for reference) come from like christianity with a few touches of celtic paganism here and there and like that’s cool no hate to those holidays but in a universe where. religion has not been handled well in the past (i.e. devs fucking with the design of asra’s mother) its like alright what exactly makes sense here

also people who use this info as a way to be antisemetic/islamophobic can eat my butt like THATS NOT WHAT I MEAN cause i’ve seen people on here do that before so

we also have the implications of the temple district in vesuvia where everyone can show up and worship and its a bunch of different faiths coming together etc etc so its like Okay…. we have that.

so i’m like are there like. City wide holidays in vesuvia where everyone gets the day off or government stuff is shut down, holidays reserved for specific cultures…. this is a coastal city so i’m like we have a lot of people coming in and out from all over the place so maybe it’s just very localized

but i’m like can we justify a halloween in vesuvia like trick or treating and dressing up and parties and bobbing for apples and shit. But there’s also like Samhain which some people who are like irl practicing witches still observe but is not necessarily widespread or synonymous with halloween so i wonder if it would be something like that?

I’m also interested in whether spirits/ghosts would play a role on this day where people are like oh things are sooooo haunted because its That day! does it just depend on how sort of ~devout~ individuals or families or communities are?? like are there days where people participate in some form of altar making/maintenance or ancestor worship? a/n: a lil halloween special ! formatted a bit differently hope u guys don’t mind <333 as always feel free to rq stuff!!

daichi, asahi, suga, noya, tanaka, ennoshita: lil halloween second and third years party, except it’s just the 6 of them. hinata, kags, tsukki, and yams all didn’t wanna go. to aid their egos they told everyone the first years weren’t allowed. daichi, suga, noya, ennoshita, and tanaka all dressed up. asahi didn’t get the memo. literally just wore a sweatshirt and jeans. watched halloween movies, played truth or dare, prank called, all that shit. tried to scare the kids. ordered a bunch of pizza. a wholesome night but also they’re the only ones that would consider that fun. maybe hinata too, but tsukki would be sooooo not entertained.

hinata & kageyama: hinata always goes trick or treating w his siblings and invited kags this year. kags said yes just bc he didn’t have other plans. it wasn’t that bad of a time, though.

tsukki & yamaguchi: tsukki incited yams over to watch horror movies. neither of them dressed up. tsukki turned the porch lights off so kids wouldn’t come but if they did yamaguchi would jump up and run to the door to pass out candy.

kuroo & kenma: kuroo came over to game with kenma. ended up playing corpse party and played it all the way through in a 12 hour session. it was actually really fun, kuroo never has time (nor that much interest) to game with kenma like that. kenma def forced his parents to deal with trick or treaters.

oikawa, iwa, mattsun, makki: seijoh 4 type beat. called it a party and invited a bunch of ppl from their school. none of them dressed up. oikawa brought a costume with him though, just in case. he has FOMO. everyone got shit faced and wrecked makkis house. lots of hookups. iwa def left early.

bokuto: akaashi invites him to come over and watch movies and chill, but makki texted him abt a party a couple days earlier so he attended makkis party. left within 5 minutes and texted kaashi if his invite was still on the table.
