hi lol i just wanted to share my success stories to motivate others 🩷

so for starters two years ago i was in college and absolutely MISERABLE. I was in my all time low episode. You can imagine-

Then during christmas break I snapped. I was like, enough is enough. I took a gap year, found a job I wanted to do. Problem was that for this job they are generally looking for confident extroverted people. I was neither of those things.

But all through that time I was like “This is a new chapter. It doesn’t matter how I was before. Nobody knows it here.” I got hired.

This once success changed my whole mindset. I truly started believing that I have the power to change my life for the first time. That not everything is written ahead and I can’t change it.

Next examples:

I really wanted to go to this big ass concert in my country in summer. I know people who sometimes can get me tickets for free but they said they don’t know this organizator so it’s not possible. Did that stop me? Hell no-

In the next month before the concert anytime I thought about it, I considered it done. I was telling people I’m going already. A week before I got a message I got two VIP tickets ready.

Then my job contract ended in october. The managment told us they’d take us back for summer. But that’d be around may the soonest. Again, I was already telling people I’m going back as soon as I ended there. In my mind there was literally no other way my life could even go.

A week into november I got a call I’m starting in january, which was literally a dream for me. I had money aside and I also had a ton of plans in winter with my friends so I had the time to do them all. For the next two months I was partying and going to concers.

Now back in job I learned we are going for layover trips. Basically they send you somewhere for a week or so. Nice sunny country with a pretty paid for hotel. But once again- the older colleagues were insistent that as someone new I won’t get there at all, that I have no chance.

Oh boy- in one month I was in 3 destinations. Tanning, swimming, shopping. One of those (the longest one) I actually got to spend with probably my favorite homegirl at work.

At this point I didn’t even try to manifest it, I was just like “yeah, bet!” to all the people who told me I’ll be sitting at home on my ass.

The last example is just me having plans that I refuse to cancel (another concert actually 🤭) and another of those working abroad things. First of all, this trip is for 2 weeks with ROYAL payment, so ofc I did not want to give it up. But it looked like it’s gonna be at the time of the concert.

Before our new schedule came out, I was just thinking how that’s just NOT happening. Like ain’t no way. I’ll be going to that destination and absolutely will be home at the time of the concert. It will somehow work out.

It did.

“It will somehow work out.”

This sentence basically sums up my whole mindset. I don’t overthink it. “How is it gonna work?” I just let the universe figure it out for me. I just know it will be in my favor.

I tried manifesting before when I was at school. But my problem was that I always worried HOW it’s gonna work out. I was overthinking, trying to desperately do the mental gymnastics of how those unreal things will happen.

The moment I stopped this, simply shrugged and went about my day, those things started to happen.

(Re)designing a winglet - part 3/7

good afternoon guys, happy Wednesday! I’ll get straight into it by showing you our victim of the week!

I can safely say this might be one of the more embarrassing pieces of old art from that sketch page - outside of his expression, I kind of have no idea what’s going on with Saguaro. He seems pretty agitated, but everything else is kind of up in the air. I also spelt his name wrong.

for starters, I came up with a little basic information for Saguaro - I decided he would be a student incoming from the scorpion den, a little hot-headed but not to an extreme. He’s competitive and wants to hold up a formidable persona at jade mountain, but things tend to fall through often because it’s not how he usually acts.

here’s my redone version! I tried to preserve the old facial feature as much as I could, while leveling them up a little with some classy lashes and accessories. Saguaro being from the scorpion den, dresses a little punk. this will make sense on Friday.

I debated on how heavily accessories he should be, and settled on ‘not very much’ as a margin since he’s probably mucking his clothes up anyways. I’m sure Saguaro would love a few hours in the morning to get ready each day, but unfortunately he doesn’t have that luxury because he has to get to AP chem on time and he can’t keep living off coffee.

outside of trying to outdo his peers in every aspect of life, I imagine Saguaro also enjoys craft work - making jewelry, making clothes.. anything like that. He gives them to his wingmates after they pester him, pretending to be selfish when he’s actually been *waiting* for someone to ask for a bracelet.

Here’s my completed sketch page! I dub him super tall and absentminded, but equally embarrassed every time he hits a door.

riki was so scared to confess to you, he was overthinking for days straight instead of sleeping at night

you and riki later on create your own true crime podcast except you're not just talking about the crime

they were both really excited.

as a gag gift, because soda was worried he might have nightmares from sleeping away from home (darry had nightmares his first night on campus and soda overheard his parents talking abt it. this is canon), steve and two-bit get ponyboy a stuffed horse and print out a picture of soda’s face and tapes it to the horses head

but as frustrating as it is, it is cute that pony keeps asking questions because it reminds him of when they were little and all pony would do was ask why

darry and the gang plan to leave well before sunset so they can make it home in time for everyone to get enough sleep b4 work the next day

steve in all his glory tells pony if he cries tn because he misses home it’s okay, he won’t even make fun of him, but pony, in all his glory, says he ain’t gon cry bc he’s not a kid

he hugs soda and darry extra tight when they do leave (at the tail end of sunset. southern mfs i swear) and pony makes them promise to call him when they get home

night falls and all the day’s excitement is gone.

pony? never been away from home on his own. it hadn’t hit him until he’s getting ready for bed that’s he in college. until then it felt like an away trip but when he wakes up he’ll be at home. he’s not having a great time, he misses his brothers

but there’s no pay phone in his room or his end of the hall so he has to go all the way to the lounge to call home

soda answers the phone and he’s real happy to hear his voice bc he had already started missing pony something fierce too. but sodas a creature of habit and only manages to talk to pony for 5 minutes before he’s yawning and has to go to bed

when darry gets on the phone pony is this close to just bursting into tears because he wants to go home

darry somehow knows. can hear it in the quiver of pony’s voice and asks if he wants to just talk for a while regardless of how the phone bill would be that month

pony is over the moon and says yes ofc. darry has to grab the recliner so he can at least sit comfortably because ponyboy could yap his freaking ear off

they end up talking for like 30 more minutes before both of them nod off.

darry’s stretched out on the recliner and the phones dangling off the wall

pony’s curled against the wall underneath the pay phone with his blanket around him and the phone still tight in his hand

it’s smooth sailings after that.

ponyboy wakes up to about three upperclassmen girls and one other boy staring and talking about him and one of the girls snaps a photo with her (new) polaroid. pony’s instantly ready to be on defense but they literally do not care and despite his best lies he’s obvious he was on the phone with family and they find that really endearing and immediately force him under their wing

darry’s wakes up to soda putting the phone up and making breakfast. darry’s feeling a little bittersweet but in all he’s really happy that he could be of any help to pony because he was def getting a little worried

Been projecting myself into Percy Jackson lately so here’s a little doodle

After a little identity crisis, I think I’ve settled on being a daughter of Athena and legacy of Nemesis who eventually joins the hunters of Artemis. Super simple and straightforward hfjdjfjjdjdjdkd

Gonna yap I guess and treat her like an oc that’s just me bc it’s easier to approach that way

-so her name is Lea (short for Azalea but she rarely actually goes by that)

-so daughter of Athena right? Well the interesting thing about that is she’s sort of an anti-Athena kid? In that she sort of opposite to how the other kids are

For starters, she is not the leading or strategizing type. That stuff stresses her out too much (doesn’t mean she wouldn’t technically be good at it, she just be struggling). Her “strategizing” generally manifests in overthinking and thinking through every possible outcome and knowing how to be prepared for it.

She’s also very avoidant of the spotlight and doesn’t struggle with hubris. She’d much rather play a support role. While some credit for things would be nice, she definitely doesn’t want any extreme accolades.

Lastly, she’s quite the burnt out gifted kid. She used to read a bunch, but now she can’t force herself to do that. She’s a school hater and especially a math despiser. Her love for knowledge manifests in her random deep dives and hyperfixations on specific topics where she’s overcome with the desire to know absolutely everything about this one topic or she will explode.

-her Athena-y traits come through in other ways tho. For starters, she love the arts and especially loves weaving type things like crocheting, knitting, friendship bracelet making, etc. She also enjoys debate type conversations and making good points and just generally knowing stuff. She is very perfectionistic which causes her to have really high standards for herself and those around her which leads her to isolating more often than not. Like her mother, she’s not interested in romance; she’s much rather focus on her platonic relationships (they’re hard enough to keep up as is).

-she’s also a legacy of Nemesis (her dad is a child of Nemesis). This manifests mostly in a really intense need for fairness and justice and wanting to put arrogant people in their place. The fact that Athena is already a goddess of justice also just kinda amps this up a bunch.

-her fatal flaw is probably fear/low self-esteem tho her low self-esteem could be rooted in fear so you knowwwwww she’s got a bunch of fears and things that have a big impact on her so she has to be intentional about pushing past them otherwise it very well could be fatal

-she can communicate with owls and has an owl friend named Toast

-joins the hunters at 18 ish probably right about when she’s ready to move on from camp

Yeah that’s sort of what we got going and like I only doodled her hunter outfit so you know but I love this it’s so fun fjdjdjdjdjdjdfkspfi I just have to do all this official lore stuff in order for my brain to let me use her in my scenarios ^^ it’s weird man but idk i just work here

also lila 'i dont like bracelets' pitts who was already shown making bracelets in 2 (with diego), losing her bracelet at the end of 2, then diego giving it back to her in 3 (and she wore that shit !!) all for it to be thrown away for whatever the fuck happened in the strawberry timeline lol

this ones a throwaway rant but 1) why did none of the fives in that diner experience paradox psychosis and 2) whyd they all look the same lol u cant tell me every five chose to wear the same exact suit with the same haircut (and the same age appearance wise!!)

and biggest of all (for me bc its been bugging me) but if lila had to be there in the end "otherwise itd just reset again" then why the hell didnt the other oct 1st people need to be there too are we just supposed to forget about them (RAHHH) if the reasoning is that they shouldve never existed (awful reasoning btw) then why do the others get a free pass HUH?? unless theyre like "well the cleanse took over the entire world so they got slorped up too" or "the others died a while ago these 8 are the last marigold kids" which is a stupid cop out and i will not accept it lmao.

What a weekend. So many friends, so much laughter, so many hugs. All of the love.

It started as one of these weekend ought to start, with a canceled train. The train from Hollandse Rading to Utrecht would not depart, so I had to wake up my partner, who was so sweet to bring me to Utrecht. This did enable me to get a train earlier to Rotterdam, leaving me ample time to figure out what platform the train to Paris would depart from and to get @sihtricfedaraaahvicius some breakfast.

We sat in separate compartments for the journey to Paris, though. I talked to a very friendly family who was going to Disney and their daughter made me a few drawings, which was so super adorable.

At Charles De Gaule we met @sihtricsafin and my Scottish friend Beka, who said she'd spotted Arnas at Glasgow airport and likely been with him on the same plane. Beka and I headed to our hotel and checked in. She had a room on her own and I shared one with one of my very best friends, Mary.

Around four I got ready and @lucile-frenchfornerds braided my hair. She and I headed out to the con hotel to gather out con tickets and wait for the cocktail party to start.

We met and hung out with our other friends while we waited and around 18.30 the party commenced.

The atmosphere was so different from last year. The lights were not dimmed and there was no anticipation build up. We just got in and then Eliza and the lads came in, without much fanfare.

I was at a table with Dominika, Rike, Abi and @lucile-frenchfornerds.

I have already forgotten which order we got them in, but Arnas was third. He looked... scruffy. Not at all what I expected, haha. He did ask me how many books I'd written since we last saw each other and did a toast making all of us look him in the eye. That was not as hard as I expected it to be, but his eyes made me melt all the same.

Eliza was fabulous as ever, giving all of us a hug and telling us all we looked good. She is everyone's hypewoman. She spoke a bit about her baby and my god, she looks gorgeous for seven months post partum.

Jacob took it upon himself to get us all drinks. He even roped his handler into helping him carry and it was so precious, but it did mean we had lesser time with him. And that while he is the cutest bean in the entire cast.

Toby, once he'd asked us where we all are from (everyone did this except Jacob, Mark, Arnas and Eliza and it annoyed the shit out of me) started talking about this Irish band and he just filled his entire time with it and that definitely got me started on the wrong foot with this man.

Timmy started about escape rooms and we all went like 'yeah nope' and he said he hates them too and then he sort of starter Dominika about a horror movie about escape rooms.

I am not quite sure what Cavan talked about, but he called us the best table and we all got a hug, so he is okay in my book.

Mark asked us how we were and I almost wanted to comment on the beef-bod + bare-face situation, but I did not. @lucile-frenchfornerds and I both said we had some bad times, but obviously the time was too short for him to unpack that, so he talked abt footie with Rike instead.

Jeppe brung us chocolates. He was so proud of himself, which was adorable. But it was milk chocolate, which always makes my mouth so dry and my drunk had already magically evaporated. Jeppe noticed my expression right away, like a fucking shark and was all disappointed I did not like it. I liked it, I just het a dry mouth, geez!!!

Magnus was fucking fabulous right of the bat. Maybe it was the fact that we are both ginger, or the way that black jumper clung to his chest, but holy fuck, he made me feel a lil weak. He shook out hands and I can't really remember what he talked about, bc all I could focus on was how charming he was. I defo fell in love with him a little.

Micki went for a hug too and that started him on the correct foot. I have no idea what the heck he talked about, it was nothing special. Probably just the regular old where are you from and do you do. I was also a bit too distracted by how FUCK GOOD he looked.

Our table was left sort of alone, while a lot of other tables still had their actor and everything got slightly messy and weird before we got to rotate about for the group picture. It was all around a bit of a messy thing.

Saturday was straight up hectic, but very fulfilling. It was so lovely to see these lovely people (again) and to get so many hugs.

First up was of course Arnas. He looked a lot less scruffy that day. He was perfectly lovely and the picture turned out wonderful too. Nothing special happened. During the selfie he did not quite manage handling my phone, but besides that, he was just lovely. Very very lovely.

The OP with Cavan and Timothy were very staright forward, just a hi, a hug and getting out of there.

Jacob was straightforward too, but the photo with his came out quite bad, so I was allowed to go for a reshoot later that day, thankfully.

James and Eliza were fabulous. They both first hugged me and I was just so happy to see the both of them again.

The only unique pose I did was with Toby. I just had to make use of him wearing that scarf. I was like 'can I fix your scarf as though I am your mom' and he was like 'oh yes, please do' and he made the face and then went like 'I hope you don't mind I looked like a petulant teenager'.

Needless to say I loved it.

During the autographs I definitely got some hugs in and I had a wee chat with James about how life is treating me.

No one managed to keep the christmas card envelope shut and James and Toby were both very happy with the poem I wrote them. Toby defo got competitive about the hug rating, so I got an amazingly sweet hug from him. Everyone also loved the home made cookies and my friend Natalie said they were my calling card.

Arnas reacted well to my tattoo, giving a loud laugh and the next day he said he loved my tats.

Sunday was an invaritable sausage fest. All these handsome men, OH MY!

I had the group op first and it was so brief, omg. I suggested a group hug and OMG I got wrangeled! I couldn't even pick where I stood, I just got squished between Magnus and Mark. The picture is sweet, though.

Then I had my duo and I just went 'pola pt 2' and I was not disappointed. I swear to the Gods I gained three sons that weekend, one in the Toby solo and the other two in the Marnas Duo. They are my mischivous little boys.

I took lovely pictures with Jeppe, Eys, Magnus and Mickie. Straight forward hugs, but very lovely. People keep telling me Mickie and I look like siblings and of course the picture between Magnus and I has so much ginger!!!

With Mark I decided to spruse it up and go all Peggy Carter on him, because the man served BEEF.

The autographs were definitely more high key on sunday. Especially the hug rating got the gents spirited. The only one I did not go to was Eys, but @sihtricfedaraaahvicius went in my stead. Mary did hand over a cookie and the xmas card and pointed me out to Eys, who made it clear he loved the cookie.

Mickie, Jeppe and Magnus understood the asignment with the hug rating! Especially Jeppe. He just held on!!! I think the hug lasted a minute and he is so warm and so cuddly and I love him. Magnus also gathered me up and gave me all his warmth, which stole a piece of my soul, for sure. Micki was shaking a little when we hugged, due to a caffeine overload, or so he told me.

Jeppe adored my poem and thanked me for giving him a piece of me.

The way back I rode with Natalie and Daphne and we went for KFC and had so much fun. I really adore the friendships I made with them and all the other girls there.

I hope I can manage to see all these lovely people again someday soon.

for the ballad, i love their song stress, and this isn’t bad at all as far as fansongs go. but there’s a reason i don’t include it in my barry playlist, and it’s ultimately bc it doesn’t fit my narrative haha

the song was made in 2003 and i haven’t read many comics before then, so idk how well it aligns w barry’s characterization prior to flashpoint, but i’m basing my playlist off post-flashpoint, so that’s where a lot of the differences will lie

for starters, the song only includes one half of barry’s relationship to his superspeed, and it’s important to me that a barry interpretation includes both sides of that coin. instead, it’s playing on the idea of the dark side of the hero fantasy, an inherently optimistic genre. which, fair, being a superhero sounds like a nightmare, but that angle is less novel to me when that’s the extent of the analysis (and i’m a little over the whole “i hate being a superhero” storyline in general, personally). the song is basically abt how much it would suck to have superspeed bc the world slows to a crawl and you’re left behind bc no one else can keep up w you. and it’s true, that is a very real setback! especially for someone like barry who’s already prone to self-isolation and time management issues! but what does the song actually have to say abt him as a character?

the thing is, barry isn’t a “i wish i wasn’t a hero” kind of guy. he’s a “could i be so strong [to give up the flash]? or do i love the thrill of these powers too much?” kind of guy. he’s a “knowing what i know now… if i could go back in time… maybe i would’ve been somewhere else the day lightning struck my lab and electrified those chemicals, ready and willing to forfeit a life of dodging deathtraps and battling villains… who am i kidding? there’s no going back. no do-overs. like everyone else, superheroes can only follow the path destiny has laid out for them, whatever lies ahead.” kind of guy. yes, barry is caged by his superspeed, but it would be misleading to not present it first and foremost as the very thing that frees him. it’s a double-edged sword that gives him purpose, and that freedom in obligation is what motivates him to keep going. as a wise man once said, “all you can do is go forward.” (“thanks.” “superman is pretty smart isn’t he.” “hm.”)

i think the real kicker for me was this lyric: “i’ve got time to think about the past… how my life was so exciting before i got this way.” my sincerest apologies to mr. allen, but he does not feel complete to me without his mother’s death or his father’s false imprisonment. this backstory contextualizes everything for me. his life was NOT exciting before his superspeed, it was lonely and full of escapism, either in his sci-fi/comics or his dedication to finding justice. i am of the belief that barry didn’t truly start living until he got his superspeed, over 2 decades of waiting around before he rly understood freedom and what it meant to live for himself. i get what they’re trying to do here, but this is what i mean when i say it feels like the song characterizes barry around the concept of his speed rather than how barry’s speed defines him as a person

ik i can’t expect a 4min song to include every aspect of a character’s timeline/development/nuance (esp before some of that even existed lol), but my issue isn’t that it doesn’t cover enough ground—it’s not bad that they had a theme and stuck by it, i actually love the lyrics from a speedster perspective. my issue is that i don’t think this is a good framing for barry’s character as a whole. for all his regrets and suffering, barry is optimistic to the point of denial. choosing this to be The theme to represent barry just. doesn’t feel like barry to me. it’s more like barry is the placeholder subject as an excuse to sing abt superspeed

if this was somehow less overtly a “BARRY ALLEN FANSONG” and maybe more metaphorical or even non-fandom, then it would be a dif situation and i might have dif opinions. at the end of the day, this has more to do w my pickiness than the quality of the song, and the fact that it even exists is so exciting for me as a barry allen enjoyer first, human second. but if you’re going to call smth a character study, i Will be getting my hopes up

A “short” acnh guide to keeping resident services in the tent and still being able to terraform and waterscape the island!🌻✨

im saying short bc its probably not gonna be as detailed as watching a video, so i’ll link to two of those as well right here - by boiscrossing and ninatries on youtube.

you need 2 switches to do this and they both need to have acnh on them! also if you dont already have a full played-on island on one of the switches, this whole thing is gonna take an even longer time tbh bc thats kinda needed..

On the first switch that already has an island:

1. create a second character on your main switch island🍃 it has to be a second character btw it cant be the resident rep

2. upgrade that new character so they have a house(any size) and keep grinding for nookmiles!!! this part is kinda boring but honestly the more you do it the more you get to enjoy bc its mostly not gonna be an option on the new island..

3. get the terraforming and waterscaping, as well as anything else you might want from the nookmiles shop! you can also fill up your house/inventory with stuff bc you get to bring all that as well

4. when you are ready to move, go to the start menu and press the minus button(settings) and talk to tom nook, get ready to tell him you want to “move to a new island” and start the process

On the second switch with no island🏝️:

1. open up the start screen for a brand new island! instead of saying that you are new, you pick the option “i’m moving” when it becomes available, and then the game tells you in detail how to move on! and you can actually reroll islands, as long as the directions you get on the first island are over with👀

2. play the first day like you normally would on any new island, dont panic about nothing showing up, you gotta get to the “synched up with real time” place before you get all the things from your pockets and tom nook will tell you that they gotta rebuild your house or something lol i dont remember exactly but something like that

3. He gives you your little phone and thats all you need! You can get straight to filling up rivers and moving cliffs🎉

Now - how to keep resident services from upgrading? This is very easy! you just cant get anymore new villagers! sad but easy to remember! i mean maybe you could get one or even two out of the next 3 available(im not sure, i personally am just not gonna risk it) but you just cant finish that part of the early gameplay if you want the tent! you can get the shops and the museum tho if you want to! but yea otherwise its a 3 resident island(yourself included) so i would consider being very happy with the two starters you get🫶🏻⛺️

alright everyone get ready its time for luna to (start to, had to cut this up into a series bc leos post got LONG !!) share her silly little pokemon teams for a lot of the main rise characters!! not all of them, but ! a good few! a few things to preface first of all, though;

first of all, there will be three teams for every character: main, themed, and type-optimized. their main team is pokemon i think they would realistically have, ie no/very few mythicals. (cj is an exception.) their themed team is the pokemon i think fit them best, with one legendary or mythic each. their type-optimized team is one put together to have very few type weaknesses (very hamato of them, imho), based around the main legendary or mythic ive given them. this is not a competitive team, or even really a balanced one, because i know things about pokemon, not competitive pokemon. main and themed lists try to prioritize pokemon that fit them, the type opt teams are a free-for-all.

second of all, i think itd be really fitting if the hamato had a tradition of giving an eevee to their children when theyre young! accordingly, splinter, the boys, april, and cj (maybe casey will inherit splinters moms espeon? hmm. or if leos espeon had a kid...ill think abt it! her having one already just didnt make sense to me, is all.) will all have eeveelutions/eevee.

lastly, ill have some bullet points explaining why that pokemon fits the character, some backstory on the main team (ie the one i think they would realistically have), why i chose them for the team, stuff like that! admittedly, i havent brainstormed quite how the pokemon would fit into rises original story? like, as in the ninja-ing. just how theyd act with their little guys. so thats your guys' job to imagine! :] ill just provide all the silly details, lmao. also just decided as i was making this that every pokemon should get nicknames, in the sense that thats what they would name them. esp the main ones. this post is going to take me forever to make lmao. nicknames will be most prevalent on leos (this!) post, because its one of his love languages 2 Me, but everyone elses pokemon will definitely have some nicknames, too!

Espeon-Sunburst

sunburst-chosen as a main nickname after espeon evolved. inspired by the sun, starbursts, her personality (bright, a lot like leos), and vibes.

his starter baby!! i chose specifically espeon for leo partially because umbreon fit for donnie really well, partially because espeon just fits him (the twins are giving sun and moon ngl! but leos giving sun in the way that the sun is a star, mikey is giving sun in the sense that hes bright, raph is giving sun in the sense that hes the center of the universe, and donnie is giving sun in the sense that hes the unstoppable force and leos the immovable object. yk?), and partially cause i think splinters mom wouldve had an espeon :]

absolutely has a myriad of silly nicknames for her. her bc i said so. also afab leo propaganda. also gender salad leo propaganda. also Feels Right. lots from when he was tiny and she was still an eevee-i think the boys all getting eevee when they turned 8 would be interesting? idk 8 just feels right-like fluffy and cotton, and more that are more recent, like sunburst and ruby. shes ruby raph is ruby red u see

again. that is his itty bitty baby. he would probably tear down the sky for her. they take naps together and she was on high alert for the whole two months leo was on bed rest after the movie. inseparable besties, truly

shes spent a lot of time in her life curled around leo trying to help the poor guy get to sleep, and learned moonlight at some point to play shadow puppets on the wall when he was still 8 and 9.

Lycanroc (midday)-Ivory

ivory-chosen after donnie named his lycanroc obsidian. leo and lycanroc alike wanted them to be matching.

donnie has a midnight form lycanroc; i think itd be fun if the twins found two rockruff on their first adventure up to the surface and the quiet, curious one got attached to donnie and the bright, bouncy, cowardly one got attached to leo. ivory isnt as skittish as he once was, but thats partially due to leos help :]

again, lots of nicknames for this little guy! his main one before donnies lycanroc evolved (after leos) was ghost! hes always walked with quiet feet, in stark comparison to donnies, who always moves loudly, even though he "talks" far less. accordingly, donnie affectionately calls his own lycanroc mercury; ie, a non euclidean fluid, and a metal to boot.

ivory likes to battle more than sunburst does, and spends more time trailing after leo, though most of leos pokemon are sort of attached to his hip lmao. sunburst is just less willing to get up from a good nap if leo runs off.

Persian-Shiny

shiny-so picked because its his favorite word, and he loves hoarding shiny things under leos bed.

i think this is the one i have the least things to say about? i mean. its persian. kantonian persian! how is that not leo?

the thought of leo finding a disgruntled meowth and then washing him up and immediately going omg youre adorable and prissy and i totally get it. mine now :3 and said meowth was like omg. bet

cant think of as many nicknames for this guy either...velvet, golden? levvy, like leverage. idk lmao

Lucario-Shield

shield-leo called him this once as a fond joke once, and he loved it so much leo never stopped calling it that. he calls him shield more often than he calls him lucario, honestly

dont look at me and tell me this isnt leo. aura? protection? fighting/steel? helloooo. like. look at it yk. omg one of the pokedex entries says only people with justice in their hearts can earn their trust too <- looked up the pokedex entry to make sure she wasnt missing anything. omg. this also being a pkmn all the other leos also have would rule really hard!! would make a good point of how leo is still a leo, yknow?

scrappy riolu leo found running around alone on the surface when he was 11 or so. said riolu immediately went youre so nice? what the hell? must protect for forever actually

lucario evolved two weeks after leo met him.

leo loves lucario just as much <3

shield spends a lot of time training, guarding leo, getting head pats from leo, checking in on leos brothers, eating snacks, or checking in on leos other pokemon/making sure theyre training, too. he has a very packed schedule of being very loved and also disciplined, and i say that mostly genuinely lmao

leo also calls him azure, verily (mostly jokingly), aurin (heard aura and couldnt shake off the first related name he thought of), and steel + others i cannot think of rn lmao

Meowscarada-Rosebud

rosebud-leo caught meowscarada as a floragato, partially because he was immediately enamored by his yo-yo. it became a party trick when he evolved, and the name just stuck more than any others

dreaming of leo on a solo run looking at the stars when hes 12 and running across a floragato doing tricks with its yo-yo alone in a desolate park, showing it his own magic tricks and the both of them endearing themselves to each other enough that the pokemon agrees to go home with him when leo offers, if only to get cleaned up and eat something, since it looked a little banged up; it ended up staying.

very reserved compared to leos other pokemon, though he does love to play tricks now and then, and has a lot of little magic tricks he does with leo. both of them were ecstatic when leo figured out the portalling thing, lmao

rosebud keeps it a secret, but he was abandoned when he evolved. smth smth becoming something someone doesnt want you to be, etc etc, leo leo. leo knows, and rosebud knows leo knows. a floragato wouldnt be all alone for no reason, after all, theyre a starter. they both keep it a secret, though, and rosebud keeps the insecurities leo shared to make him feel better a secret in turn. theyre alone, but theyre alone together.

Altaria-Cloud

cloud-very obvious name, but its the first leo thought of, and its accordingly her favorite!

im thinkinggg. a little swablu that got lost that leo found nearby the lair when he was like, 9? smth smth, wandering, curiosity, lost on the path. leo, u get it. cloud practically attached herself to leos hip, terrified as she was being alone, but over time, shes grown comfortable around leos other pokemon. shes usually stuck to someone, though, and spends a lot of time perched on leos head :]

if i was going to pick a mega for leo, itd be this one! dragon flying to dragon fairy? um?!??!? yes???

cant totally explain why this one Fits him though? maybe just the blue, and how sweet it looks despite being a dragon type? you could argue altaria fits mikey better, too, but i just...idk. mikeys too...WAUGH! leos more like clouds and skies, floating by and humming idly, mikeys more...fireworks, you know?

Zoroark-Ghost

(this team will not have nicknames, of which typings will take the place of, and some will be sparsely explained! instead, ill be focusing a little more on their role in battle, though admittedly my actual battling prowess is limited to what the games' stories require of you, so. not that much lmao. theres more coverage than im going to mention here because omg this post is already incredibly long, but just know that when i plotted out these teams in a notebook, all of them had max one or two types they couldnt cover somehow! every type and pokemon was picked purposefully to counter the type weaknesses of the pokemon before them, until it came full circle with the last :])

Lugia-Psychic/Flying

if it doesnt have a psychic type is it really a leo team? no. the answer is NO

lugia has water coverage, and aeroblast has a high crit chance; both very Leo! it also learns rain dance, which could be useful for utility, though i admittedly know very little about that

pressure is a baller ability and im going to avoid hiddens if i can so well go w that one :]

Lucario-Fighting/Steel

again have already explained the crap outta this one lmao

this covers lugias electric weakness in part with bone rush/ground moves, and more importantly, covers its dark type weakness. furthermore, its just an excellent pokemon! you can never go wrong w a lucario lmao that little guy will just aura sphere your whole team to death

Meowscarada-Grass/Dark

meowscarada is even MORE leo when you factor in flower trick omg

it having overgrow natively is also weirdly leo. so is protean but again, avoiding hiddens

again. very leo, already mentioned it, but accelrock is also sooo him. omg.

has swords dance, which is !! but also covers the glaring electricity weakness that lucario only partially covers

thinking sand rush for the ability. i could see leo doing some weather shenanigans ie sandstorm on excadrilll, rain dance on lugia, sunny day on meowscarada, that kind of thing

Primarina-Water/Fairy

admittedly partially picked this one bc its one of my favorite starters but tbf !!!! it is also soooo very leo. 2 me.

again torrent is very fitting. leo having two starters is also weirdly fitting lmao same for the two steel types

helps cover our fire weakness and fighting weakness; iirc was more of a filler pick, chosen bc primarina :] and i couldnt fit it anywhere else + sparkling aria !!! yoooo

Also gonna ramble a but about the pokemon themselves bc I love them (all these pokemon were caught in the first evolution and evolved to their final except for Missy and Trouble)

In order of capture:

Chandelure (Lavender) was Ingo's starter. She just kinda followed him home one day from a festival bc she thought his soul was pretty. Drayden was very concerned about letting Ingo keep a ghost type so young (like 9 years old) bc they have been known to feed of their trainer's souls but in the end he agreed mostly bc she refused to leave

Emmet's starter was Eelektross (Taser). Emmet actually was searching for a pokemon that day which is why the twins were in Chargestone Cave. Taser was having a casual battle with another wild pokemon and Emmet just kinda stepped in and started giving him directions. Taser was grumpy about it at first but then realised Emmet had good strategies and together they won the battle

When they became old enough to go on their pokemon journeys Drayden gifted them twin Klinks which were quickly named as Gear (Ingo's) and Station (Emmet's) (the train special interest was already strong in these boys). These would have been their starters had they not made friends with Lavender and Taser first. Emmet often introduces them the wrong way round as "Station and Gear" and Ingo hates it

Ingo's Crustle (the only one I haven't thought of a nickname for) was caught bc it was the only pokemon in the area that didn't scatter when Ingo yelled a little too loud in the middle of the forest and Emmet immediately demanded Ingo battle it for its bravery

Emmet's Galvantula (Goldie) was caught bc Emmet really really really wanted a Joltik (his favourite pokemon) and caught the first one he came across

Emmet caught his Durant (Stoker) after getting lost in Twist Mountain. He'd somehow lost sight of Ingo and Elesa and was panicking, crying and nonverbal. Stoker found him like this and sat with him until he was found. Stoker continued to follow them to make sure Emmet didn't get lost again. When Emmet noticed, he challenged it to a battle and caught it

After defeating Drayden's gym (and don't think he went easy on them bc they're family), Drayden gifted Ingo his own Haxorus' egg and gifted Emmet a Plume fossil which became their Haxorus (Freight) and Acheops (Piston)

After Freight hatched she immediately wandered off and got lost. They ended up finding her being mother henned by a Drillbur (Quake) who demanded she battle them to make sure they're good enough for Freight. She got emotionally attached and joined them

As young Depot Agents Ingo and Emmet were tasked with catching whoever was tipping over the trash cans around Gear Station. Ingo found a Trubbish (Daisy) and offered her a job cleaning up the trash around the station instead of making messes

As Subway Bosses the twins were widely known for being excellent trainers. This is why the local pokemon shelter reached out to them about a temporary placement for a Boldore (Missy) and Gurdurr (Trouble). They'd both been forced to evolve by their old trainers before they were ready and now weren't very well behaved around anyone that tried to take care of them, scared of the same thing happening again. They couldn't be released since they didn't have the survival skills they needed for the wild. Missy and Trouble were supposed to be placeholder names just for the short time theyvstayed with the twins but they stuck and they all got emotionally attached, so they took them in permanently

(This does leave Ingo with 7 pokemon, later 8 with his Alakazam, and Emmet with 6, tho Emmet's endless army of Joltik make up for that. The "6 is a team" thing is more of an etiquette thing and a league rules thing. Carrying more than 6 pokeballs at once is allowed, it's just customary to only use 6 if you enter a battle)

Knowing all of their mons' origins is so interesting and very wholesome! Almost everything is fluffy and sweet, a nice change of pace from what I've been daydreaming about 😅.

Y'know, other than some occasional angst here and there, and the Hisui situation, the huge wholesome-ness percentage in your Poké paracosm reminds me of another friend's paracosm. While there might be some problems here and there and a hint of trauma a treat, her paracosm is mostly consist of wholesome slice of life stuff. Also, a lot of things in this info dump are so cute :>

3 days I've been back at work and already it feels like I never went away. Everyone is so miserable and ready to walk. Had a panic attack there yesterday which hasn't happened for a long long time. Not a bad one but a panic attack none the less. Early shift today (5am-2pm) should be slightly better bc I can peace out before it all starts falling apart, but I had to console the duty manager yesterday when I left bc she was left with 21 online orders to pick between herself and 2 new starters (extremely slow, understandably) in 2 hours. I had to apologise to the drivers in advance on my way out, knowing they wouldn't be leaving on time bc it was almost impossible. It's fucking ridiculous.

Anyway, I have another interview in 2 weeks for a debt collection job for the council (sounds a bit grim, I know). It doesn't pay much more than my current but it does have much better working hours and benefits - Mon-Fri for a start, no weekends, no late nights, no Bank Holidays, 10 more days holiday than I currently have, government pension, work from home 3 days a week. So like... yeah the job might be a bit depressing but at least I'd have guaranteed time off and a lot more of it and a way better pension. It's a foot in the door to carry on working for the civil service too. So fingers crossed 😭

For now I just have to remember I have lots of nice things happening in my personal life. We're going to an outdoor cinema with Matt's brother and his wife tonight, seeing a drag show next weekend with all the siblings, me and Matt are going to a candlelight Fleetwood Mac orchestra concert the weekend after. I have 6 days off for my birthday to just fucking chill. It's allll going to be okay.

nesta is a mother figure to elain and she treats elain more like a daughter than a sister. even before their mother became sick and passed away, nesta was very protective of elain. in acosf when elain tells the ic what nesta did bc another girl was basically bullying elain??? she always had a soft spot for her.

i mentioned this on my old blog at some point, i always hc'd that their mother never cared for them. meaning like feeding them, bathing, putting them to bed, playing with them, etc. they were a wealthy family so i always imagined a nanny did those sort of things for the girls. their mother was only really involved when it came to nesta's and elain's 'training' i guess we can call it. their mother was always preoccupied with throwing soirees and having lady luncheons. their mother looked at nesta and elain more like projects and a way to climb the social ladder and expand their wealth. she was never motherly to any of her children.

and yeah nesta and elain are like two years apart so it's not until nesta is about 5 that she starts taking care of elain in the ways she can. also feyre would be like an infant, close to a year old i believe, so she was being taken care of by the nanny. so most of the time it was just elain and nesta entertaining themselves at that young age. nesta reading children's books to elain, brushing elain's hair if she notices no one had brushed it, making sure elain has something to eat, and helping her get ready for bed and tucking her in at night. if elain were to wake from a nightmare or she was having trouble sleeping nesta would let her crawl into bed with her so she could sleep. and as they got older, the more things she would do for elain.

before they had their lessons and would see their mother, nesta would make sure not a hair was out of place when leaving their room bc she knew how their mother was like. nesta in her own way was shielding/protecting elain from her. maybe if elain was struggling with something in their lessons, like a dance or s/t nesta would help her later at night and let elain practice with her. she was also protecting her from their grandmother who was abusive toward nesta and nesta didn't want elain anywhere near her. she made sure their grandmother's focus was entirely on her and would never give her the chance to hurt elain bc she would never leave the two of them alone in a room.

all those conversations nesta had with her mom where she would tell her she would marry a prince or even a king if she was ambitious enough and elain would marry for love and how her beauty was important bc it could secure her a match that would be advantageous for their family. her mother had talked about it with her enough times that it was practically embedded into her brain. nesta was so young so she probably took it as elain will marry for love and happiness as long as she keeps up with her appearance. and after losing their mother and their money it sticks with nesta and she takes a bigger mother role with elain.

in the cottage she'd still make sure her and elain looked decent, all their 'training' was engrained in their minds. there was no way for nesta and elain to easily get out of that mindset of always looking their best and having proper etiquette, like they were literally raised to be this way and that anything else was beneath them. so nesta would do both of their hair ( yes elain was capable of doing hers but nesta liked doing it and gave her s/t to do ) and she would tie ribbons in elain's hair. when things starter getting even worse where they were on the brink of starvation and feyre was the one to hunt their food, nesta made sure elain ate. she'd even give her some of her portion if she was still hungry. nesta didn't care about herself or surviving, the way she acted toward feyre was out of spite for doing what their father should have done ( but i'm not gonna get heavy into that bc i already have s/t written in my hcs about that ).

when it came to elain, nesta would do anything. she was prepared to sell her body if it meant they got food so elain could survive. and this isn't to say that nesta has always left feyre out or anything like that. it's just their relationship is drastically different ( again i won't get into it here bc i already wrote about it in a hc ) and feyre was raised completely different from her sisters. and nesta didn't see a need to protect feyre bc of that. but that's not to say that nesta didn't do similar things when they were super young. like nesta would have read to feyre, she would have given her one of her dolls to play with or a stuffed animal. it's just nesta never had to care for feyre the way she did for elain. and once feyre developed consciousness basically and expressed her distaste for how their mother raised nesta and elain that's when things turned sour and started festering between them.

anyway, nesta was basically living for elain, for elain's life, her happiness. nesta had stopped caring about herself. when they get their fortune back elain is back in high society, but it's said that nesta no longer cares about it. she doesn't care about the parties or the people that had backstabbed them. nesta doesn't make an effort to be part of the 'season' aka trying to find a match for herself. nesta doesn't like graysen, but elain loves him and she can't find anything wrong with him that would threaten elain so she allows it. when rhys makes the offer for her and elain to seek refuge at the night court while they're still human nesta leaves the choice up to elain. bc nesta just does not care, w/e elain wants to do that's what nesta will do. that protectiveness and devotion to her sister extends after being made obviously.

it's not until after the war and nesta is going through her depression and is traumatized that she steps back from elain. it's nesta's way of protecting elain from herself, from her power that she feels is so dark inside her. and bc nesta is so fucking terrified of losing her that she thinks if she pushes her away if s/t does happen it won't hurt as badly. also bc she notices elain has taken to the night court and gets along with everyone and that feyre is now the one taking care of her that she doesn't exactly need nesta in the way she needed her previously.

all this to say that nesta needs to learn to see/treat elain as her sister and not her daughter and let elain leave that nest she had built for her all those years. and i do think it's going to be hard for both of them to find that balance, but i do think nesta being at the house of wind and having her group of friends and having her own thing going on helps with that. now she has a purpose that more than just living for elain.

first gratitouille of 2024

been playing a lot of totk. still really blows my mind how much they were able to build on top of botw, which was already pretty good. i'm remembering now why i took a really long break from it, the reason being it's exhausting not bc of the game itself but bc i cannot put it down once i pick it up

my sashiko embroidery starter kit + book came in today. i found a hole in the knee of my favorite pair of jeans and i've loved seeing pictures of visible mending, and i thought, 'this is my chance!!!' i have some fabric squares ready to go and i already know what pattern i want to go for--i just don't know anything about sewing or embroidery. the set i bought comes with four sizes of needles (with large eyes since sashiko thread is thicker), three different kinds of thimbles to try, a threader, and three fabrics with patterns already on them printed in water soluble ink! if i do it right i'll have three simple embroidered kitchen towels, and hopefully soon after, a patched up pair of jeans.
