I think about how Joel must fucking hated every military guy out there. How it felt so good to kill them for what they all have done to him. He will still hate himself and the world, he will still hurt, but when he is acting as a feral animal just living and fighting to kill and survive the pain must get more dull. Like if you're a Cousland, absolutely fuck that guy he killed your family, etc etc. But if you're an Amell or a Surana in particular (who are more isolated from regular Fereldan politics in my brain, but I suppose that depends on how you imagine the Circle and how interested in politics your character is) you might have zero idea about who this tool is other than "he's the acting arl of Denerim and he works for the dude who's tried to kill us a few times". Which admittedly is a perfectly valid reason to dislike him, and that is added to once you see the torture stuff while rescuing Anora, but like. At this point you've fought so many people and dealt with so many nobles and you've got the landsmeet looming over your head quite imminently, not to mention the Archdemon. So it's very plausible that your non-Cousland Warden can just kinda forget about him in all but the vaguest sense.

And then Nathaniel breaks into your new castle (his old castle so it stings more for him) to kill you but you barely remember killing his dad in the first place so you're just like oh. Sorry bout that. Wanna join my blood club?

anyway related to my "gullible" post i do think bonnie didn't really have a lot of friends / any good friends. i'm taking a watsonian approach to "some of the things bonnie does seem more like age 5-8 than 10-12", and a doylist approach to "everyone in this party grew up kinda lonely and feels disconnected from their peer group"

people talking abt asha as if she is a massive contrast/change to the wildmother in cr2 is confusing to me like were you paying attention? like, obviously she is softer, exandria has had a long time to heal from the calamity (though, not particularly long on a nature scale but long enough for healing, enough for civilisation and nature to be more balanced hence her less-strained relationship with erathis) so she's far calmer, but she's also fully the wildmother again rather than a wolf. but even then, as much as a commune with her feels like she's a mother holding caduceus like a child she also does give him the power to swarm people with insects that burrow into their eyes and eat their tongues. she's the fish and the osprey that catches it, shes parasites and snakes and foals and rabbits and wildflowers and mountains and springs and thorns and teeth. thats literally part of caduceus' whole character - his softness and compassion contrasted with him being very clear and open about the violence of nature and that death happens and things are killed and their bodies feed the earth. like the brutality is always there, but its more balanced now, and at present the wildmother's just not as cornered (or suffocated in a city with so much light pollution that you can't see the stars). she's not starving anymore

forgive me if you've been asked this before or if its annoying, but how did you learn to use colored pencils like that? your art is so special to me.

ty :) I took an art class for a few years where our teacher had us buy prismacolor pencils as one of the art supplies and had us use them kinda like paints, pressing down hard right away and blending the colors together. its not how youre supposed to use them she was just trying to teach us to use color and ig this was more to the point. I picked them up again years after i stopped going to that class just bc they were there and i wanted to play around w them a bit and ended up actually enjoying it when doing it on my own terms lol
