ok i got another one
i can’t seem to find a comprehensive list of dub languages online rn, these are the audio options i can select on my netflix account – not included in the poll but also available to me are hindi, indonesian, thai and a japanese audio description. idk tho if those are all that were produced or if there’s more options that are just not available in my region, lmk if there’s something else i missed here! also if you’ve listened to/watched multiple of these options do kindly tell which one(s) you like best!

So apparently Pokémon Presents told us we’re getting a new Legends game based in Kalos, rather than anything about Gen 5 remakes
Tumblr media
And you know honestly, I’m cool with that, I think I prefer that. Kalos got barely any attention even in its own generation, not even getting a rerelease/sequel, which all the generations before and even the one after it got (Gen 8 and 9 didn’t get that, but they got DLC which basically acts as an addition to the story, which still applies here). Not to mention we know Kalos has lore from ancient times, and we’re probably gonna see it now in this game, which is really cool
Like yeah, I’m pretty sure Kalos isn’t seen as one of the best regions, but it’s finally getting more attention from Game Freak, and I’m happy to see that
Also I think BDSP has shattered my faith in Pokémon remakes, so I’m kind of glad Gen 5 isn’t getting one. They’ll probably save it for Gen 10 if we’re being honest
Edit: wait I just looked at more info (I didn’t see the Presents, I had class, but I just saw the news), this might take place in a futuristic Kalos? I don’t really know, but just then take what I predict about it with a grain of salt

The moments where other criminals try (and fail) to threaten Jean Valjean are fascinating, because we get a glimpse of how deeply Valjean was altered by prison— how much nineteen years of prolonged torture really has made him into a “formidable” “dangerous” criminal.
If he weren’t a shy gentle compassionate person who just wants to be left alone in peace with his daughter, he could easily be the most deadly man in Paris. He’s strong, he’s cunning, he has decades of knowledge about how to evade police and a wealth of hidden tools at his disposal, he’s highly skilled at deception, he can fend off gangs of men at once even while unarmed and has perfect aim with a gun; he could do so much harm if he decided to, but he doesn’t.
I love how Jean Valjean seems to view Patron-minette’s affiliates as… amateurs? They’re bad criminals in that they’re bad at being criminals. When Montparnasse attempts to rob him, and when Patron Minette/Thenardier ambush him, Jean Valjean speaks to them with lofty pity and kinda implies he thinks they do not really understand how to commit crimes. He explains the galleys to Montparnasse like he’s lecturing a silly misbehaving child.
When he burns himself with the hot chisel, the implication is: “I spent nineteen years in a prison where I was beaten and tortured every day, and you’re naive and inexperienced enough to think you can hurt me with a single scrap of metal you’ve heated up in a fireplace. You poor things. Don’t be afraid of me because I’m certainly not afraid of you <3”.
Compared to Jean Valjean, Patron-minette and their affiliates really are kinda just …play-acting. I think that’s part of why they get all those comparisons to theater and Vaudeville. Thenardier is a failed innkeeper puffing himself up as the most dangerous and clever criminal mastermind in Paris. But Jean Valjean actually has decades of experience living in “the criminal underworld” of the galleys, and as a result he has more deeply traumatizing knowledge and experience than Thenardier can even begin to imagine. Thenardier fails at torturing Valjean because Thenardier does not have the experience to even start to imagine the torture Valjean has already survived. As I mentioned before, Valjean has all the skills and knowledge that Thenardier wants to have, but doesn’t. So it’s like….Jean Valjean is in many ways the kind of “successful expert criminal” that Thenardier is only pretending to be.

this is daryl we’re talking about. this is the man who spent weeks in the woods looking for her daughter. stalking down any trace of her he could find. he didn’t stop until sophia was found- and when she was, he held carol in his arms as she sobbed. he kept her from being killed by the reanimated corpse of her own daughter. daryl gave her a goddamned rose and a story to help with her grief
of course carol is going to do whatever it takes to get daryl his kid back. doesn’t matter she hasn’t met him. doesn’t matter she barely knows what’s going on from the little daryl has actually said. doesn’t matter that the people after them have a lot of firepower and faith to boot. it’s daryl’s kid. which means it’s carol’s mission to get. him. back.
and god help any motherfucker who gets in their way

Y’know the tv romance we never see anymore? Not the ‘will they won’t they’ but the ‘they were basically confirmed in the first five episodes but the show has been going on for six years now and the show runners think if they actually let them become a couple the show will peter out and die bc they have no other conflict ideas so the impossible tension gets stretched and stretched and they have three one night stands that are never mentioned again and confess their love twice but by the end of the show they only get together in the last episode and it’s really frustrating and disappointing for everyone involved’
I mean. Today I see canonically queer characters labeled as queerbaiting bc they don’t get together fast enough.

i will say this tho… the reason why most kpop groups don’t come to europe is because in comparison to maybe the usa, the market for kpop music there is better than in europe and also since companies nowadays are obsessed with making groups international (promoting them in the us basically) they know it’s easy money over there honestly that’s what i think
#not saying that in europe there aren’t kpop fans#which there are#i would say there are a lot in france and spain and perhaps italy??#but like when they quote on quote tour europe they only go to those countries#and in hindsight the tour ends up being small and there’s not that much profit#compared to what the us brings tbh#i hate to admit it but it’s true lol#the music industry like the western one mainly happens in america#and when groups tour there’s no doubt they will go there#there’s also that guarantee#but also what i don’t get is how they don’t go to south america#when especially brazil has a lot of kpop fans???#i feel like south america has a lot of kpop stans especially in recent years#but all of this to say that yes it’s a good decision#i don’t think it is lmao#i never went to a concert bc of travel costs#when tours happen in europe is never in portugal so#the closest thing i have is spain or france#but that’s too much money for an average person like me#so i am not abt to make that awful financial decision#as much i want to see my fave groups#but it’s true that kpop is international#and is getting more and more international#and companies don’t do tours outside of the us#and i’m not talk about asia bc of they tour in asia that is a given#i mean outside of asia they only go to america#and MAYBE … very rarely… five european countries#anyways this is getting long but you get what i mean#it’s sad that a lot of people don’t get opportunities for many reasons#tris.txt

sorry still miffed about this . even if you don’t understand that categorisations of race are incredibly nuanced and change depending on the country surely you can take a cursory look at the history of France and Algeria and like . put two and two together . you don’t need to know the intricacies of the subject to do that

there’s this twitter fan account about a morocco nt player which is very weird and rude💀I almost thought they were trolling but no, I think they are pretty serious. Every day they just complain about players who don’t speak darija and who “bring mocr*m*ffia into the team”(mocr*m*ffia is the name for moroccan m*fia in the netherlands/belgium…so guess who they are specifically hating on while they bring into it a serious matter that obviously has nothing to do with him but okay lol). They commented the news that Chelsea will host an open Iftar at Stamford Bridge by saying “plus de snus pendant 1 mois pour le drogué de Dronten. Chic !” And I’m like WHAT????? this is so rude. They are now upset cause the player they care about wasn’t selected. But in general they just remind me of every moroccan who judges all the players who were born into diaspora or don’r fit whatever criteria they have in mind on what it means to be moroccan… judging everyone except moroccan players born in morocco. thinking Walid is some sort of slave of europe who doesn’t respect Morocco with his choices….and they are also haram police and all. Khoya this is embarrassing please delete💀

The slavery and human rights abuses of workers in Qatar is not comparable to that of workers in France. Both are bad but one side is clearly way worse.
i specifically compared the qatar fifa stadium situation to this france olympics situation. the main difference im seeing is that in qatar, they worked up to 10 hours a day in the extreme heat that exists in the gulf (which idk the laws in qatar but in several gulf countries that is illegal. not that the demon employers take the law seriously or are punished for breaking it tho). in france they’re stating they’re working up to 11 hours a day. both were being underpaid too. sorry but westerners don’t get to say this is somehow significantly different. i oppose both but im simply baffled that after the show of caring about migrant worker rights, france of all countries decides to do practically the same thing to their workers. “oh but qatar is still worse” it’s like comparing giving someone poisoned food vs giving someone poisoned food with maggots. the food is poisoned regardless! either way migrant workers rights are being seriously violated and the cases are unfortunately more alike than different. on the plus side, it’s not as systemic of an issue in france as it is in qatar (i would HOPE. though before this i was operating on the assumption that migrant workers weren’t even somewhat mistreated in the west the way they are in the gulf so who knows.)
