One of the annoying things about autism is that I can only watch the show in the format I first watched in. I know the entirety of Young Dracula is on iPlayer now but I first watched it on YouTube on my dad's 90s computer so I must watch it on YouTube because my brain thinks it's the Correct^tm way to watch. I first watched Big Wolf on Campus on YouTube of people's crunchy vhs recording uploads and that's the version I watch even though I know there are better quality uploads on archive sites. I have to continue watching Buffy on DVD even though it's on Disney Plus. It's bloody annoying

I found the original shooting script for young dracula season 1 episode 1 and it says that part of being a young vampire is being able to speak any language fluently, but it never made it into the show. which makes so much more sense why they can all speak English well (I mean its a loophole but a fun one)

it also shows vlad as more manipulative and controlling in the final episode of s1, which I think is really interesting and shows parts of him we see in later seasons.

anyway it was just a fun little find

The 2006 Dracula movie on BBC is one of the couple of adaptations in which Mina doesn't cheat/get seduced/hate her husband to be interested in someone else, but because Jonathan dies (early) by Dracula drinking him to death at the castle. She clicks with Jack, though not because of shared traits, common interests, or how they complement each other like in the book, it's more "well they're both single, guy saves girl..." The movie ends after Dracula gets killed by Van Helsing and Jack, with Mina and Jack being together after Mina gives Jonathan a (rather touching) eulogy about how he'll remain forever young. Then we see Dracula, Actually Alive, stalking them.

Like, come on, him again? Dracula drank Jonathan, since he died from it he should be undead now! Forever young, as she said. And back from the castle to find Mina. And the meeting between the three could have been interesting or very, very funny.

He sends this post-canon with a jokey message inside. Van Helsing was never particularly good at reading the room.

Quincey Morris:

Quincey sends this to Arthur and Jack in memory of their adventures in Siberia.

Arthur Holmwood:

A relatively sophisticated card for the young lord, who always chooses Christmas cards with dogs on.

Jack Seward:

A sad kitten for a wet cat of a man.
